"You killed someone. Do you really think they'll ever take you back?"

Athena looks at Yaniv, silent. No words rising to her lips to defend herself. Her pack.

No. No, they won't take her back. Accidental or intentional, premeditated or in the heat of the moment ... It's all the same to them.

It'd all been the same to her, too, until about fifteen minutes ago.

"I'll always want you, even if they don't." Yaniv's hand lands on her shoulder. Squeezes. "I understand. It was an accident, wasn't it?"

She nods quickly, eyes wide. True or not, she can feel her connection with the pack cracking deep in her chest, and it hurts. Just the thought of the potential of ... not quite pack, but something similar, soothes the ache a little.

"Of course it was. They won't understand it. No, to them you'll forever be the pup that just couldn't help herself. Who succumbed to her 'baser instincts'. The bad example. The reason weres are viewed with such fear and revulsion." The hand moves from her shoulder. It rests briefly on the top of her head, then glides gently down over her hair. Stops on her cheek, cupping her face.

Yaniv never looks away, keeps the eye contact going.

"So tell me, pup. Truthfully now. All about yourself."

The gentle touches and soft words, the seeming care, acting as a balm to the hurt in her chest; she does.
