when watching any english language show and there's two guys the only thing you truly gave to consider is when they started to tegez each other
#my post#i actually watched some hungarian bbc merlin for this reason back in the day and merlin magázd arthur for like 5 minutes and then#only when it was funny after that#but in german he kept using this archaic form of polite address and arthur said sei gegrüßt at one point which i enjoyed#but honestly i think he should have started to magát arthur again in s5 their relationship had degraded by a lot at that point#and they were older#did bbc merlin s5 even get dubbed? i dont think so#gwen and morgana should also have used te for most of their acquaintanceship Unless gwen said a kisasszony as a pronoun constantly#which i think is a very valid form of magázódás i used it all the time in high school with teachers i liked. the name instead of ön#anyway jeeves and wooster would be magázóding forever even if they are pals theres no way around it#crowley and aziraphale started out with thou and idk why they stopped who cares about society#did ged tegez tenar when he met her in the tombs? she was priestess number 1 so he shouldve but she was also 14 so idk#this is a really fun game to play i love the implications and i also tip my hat to translators for figuring this stuff out#but only when they Get It. sometimes they mess up

A Few Answers to a Lot of Questions
1: The art you see here is not the cover art.
2: I am adapting the book, not the show.
3: No, the characters will not look the way they look in the show.
4: The characters in the book generally don't look like the characters in the show.
5: I can't use the likenesses of real people. Who do not look like the characters in the book, anyway.
6: Crowley does not have red hair in the book. So he doesn't have red hair in the graphic novel.
7: Crowley in the book is only supposed to look about 24 years old. Aziraphale is only supposed to look about 30.
8: Everything I do goes through Neil and the Pratchett Estate.
9: I love the show as much as you do, but it's not the book.
10: I love the book as much as you do, but it's not the show.
11: Yes, I wrote the script and am doing all the art. I am as faithful to the source material as possible.
12: Yes, it's a lot of work.
13: Signing up at this link gives you notice when the Kickstarter goes live.
14: Publishing via Kickstarter enables the creators to maintain complete control of the work.
15: I hope you enjoy the graphic novel. I'm not going to talk about it too much because I need my energy for work.
Have a great day.

Digital Good Omens 2 Sountrack is coming out in 4 days! 🥳 CD version in October! :) ❤ Coming soon on vinyl…
Out to Stream/Download from 25th August. Out on CD 13th October. Coming soon on vinyl…
David Arnold’s ‘end of the world’ complex and multi-genre soundtrack.
From the Award-winning composer of Sherlock and Casino Royale comes a follow up to the hugely successful, Emmy nominated Good Omens soundtrack.
Good Omens series 2 premiered on Prime Video on 28th July. The series follows the odd couple, angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tennant) in their quest to sabotage the end of the World. The six-episode sequel to the popular adaptation of the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, concerns the Archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) arriving without his memories to Aziraphale’s bookshop. Aziraphale and Crowley attempt to find out what happened to Gabriel, whilst hiding him from Heaven and Hell, both eager to find him.
The Soundtrack
David Arnold’s soundtrack to Good Omens was first released in 2019 to favourable reviews, with BBC Music Magazine calling it “a rollicking trip to hell and back”. Blueprint Magazine described it as “a great listen” and Sci Fi Bulletin commented on “plenty of memorable themes” to conclude that “This is another work of art from Arnold”. At times nostalgic and eerie but always varied, beautiful and full of excitement, the Good Omens 2 soundtrack showcases Arnold’s every skill from his composer arsenal. Featured here are orchestral arrangements with sprinkling of Sugar Plum Fairy pizzicato and percussion, jaunty strings and mighty choral sweeps from Crouch End Festival Chorus. Added to the mix are rock guitar riffs, and psychedelic 70s sounds and all together they create a haunting otherworldly feel, complementing the fantasy and the quirky humour of the show. The spirited Waltz of the opening theme is also present in the second series and it wonderfully sets the scene for fantastical mayhem. In series 2, this robust, evocative, and funny music entity, becomes yet again another character in the story. Award-winning composer David Arnold is well known for his blockbuster scores, including Stargate, The Chronicles of Narnia: the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Hot Fuzz, Paul, Independence Day, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Casino Royale as well as for his TV work such as Sherlock and Dracula. Also available: The original soundtrack to the first series of Good Omens >

Clues that the body swap occurred:
1. Aziraphale doesn’t smile in the bookshop. The bookshop he thought was lost forever. And the W in the compass showed above his head.
2. Crowley walks like a normal creature when leaving his flat. LIKE A NORMAL CREATURE
3. Tartan collar… really?
4. Why did you pass up the Bentley for a cab?
5. Aziraphale first places himself to Crowley’s left, then circles to the right. Crowley style. And scans the area. Again, Crowley-style.
6. Why is Crowley paying for ice cream?
7. Aziraphale is pretty damn serious while at the ice cream stand.
8. Yelling for someone to stop Heaven from kidnapping Aziraphale. And tickety- boo.
9. Again, Aziraphale doesn’t smile while in the chair. He nervous smiles. And his eyes aren’t… him.
10. Crowley’s reaction to testing the holy water
11. Why is Crowley worried about ruining a new jacket? He miracles all his clothing.
12. The look Aziraphale give Gabriel before he steps into the fire. And Aziraphale playing dragon.
13. Adorable Crowley nose scrunch. Nose scrunch!!!
14. The bench scene prior to swap. Everything. About. It.
Did I miss anything??

INEFFABLE META MASTERPOST
Because I'm slowly losing count and need to organize. So, here's all my self-written metas or ones that I reblogged with my own added theories and commentary! In rainbow colours, naturally.
1 – Aziraphale, I love you. But you lied. And here's why. My most lengthy and proudest meta about the Final Fifteen and why I think Aziraphale lied on purpose. (Also: The absolute darling @esthermitchell-author bravely fought their way through it and wrote up some more interesting points and different takes on what I came up with. If you want to go down a S2 rabbit hole with us, go read it here.)
2 – Why Aziraphale is an unreliable narrator (links below) A three-part meta in which I try to analyse and explain that all of the minisodes in Season 2 are not objective narrations but actually Aziraphale's memories.
Part 1: The Story of Job
Part 2: The Story of wee Morag
Part 3: The Story of the Magic Show in 1941
3 – The Jane Austen Ball and why it was never about Nina and Maggie A meta in which I go into unnecessarily great detail about how the Whickber Street Meeting Cotillion Ball was meant to be Aziraphale's confession to Crowley.
4 – Crowley & Aziraphale were never free (reblog) A reblog of @baggvinshield's post in which I explain why miscommunication is the single biggest ineffable enemy in Season 2.
5 – In Defense of Aziraphale (double reblog) A double try at explaining why I think Aziraphale's POV in the Final Fifteen is just as horrible as Crowley's and why I don't think him "choosing" to go back to Heaven was the only point of his character journey.
6 – The Art of Miscommunication: Ineffable Edition A meta in which i once again explain why miscommunication is the single biggest ineffable enemy in Season 2.
7– Season 2 Bookshop Shot Meta A meta where I briefly loose my mind because of a single bookshop frame in Season 2.
8 – What if it wasn't Aziraphale and Crowley who performed the 25 Lazarii miracle? A mini-meta in which I propose the theory that Jimbriel helped with the miracle to hide himself away from Heaven & Hell.
9 – Things in Good Omens Season 2 I still find weird (reblog) A reblog of @ok-sims and many other great OPs' thoughts on the weird loose strings in Season 2 and what unanswered questions I still have myself.
10 – The Deleted Bookshop Scene (reblog) A reblog of @skirtdyke's video and @i-only-ever-asked-questions' smart thoughts on it, with my own overly-excited 'what that could have meant for the "It's too late" line'-theroy.
11 – The Bentley Handle Easter Egg A meta I can proudly say has been liked by none other than Mr. Neil Gaiman himself about Crowley's Bentley handle that might have existed before the Bentley ever did.
12 – The F*cking Eccles Cakes A meta where I briefly loose my mind because of a pastry. (Addendum: People said very smart things in the comments of the post!)
14 – Re: "You go too fast for me, Crowley" A meta in which I make myself sad by connecting that infamous line to Aziraphale assuming Crowley wanted the Holy Water as a suicide pill.
13 – Trauma-Dumping on your plants: The Anthony J. Crowley Chronicles A meta on why Crowley treats his plants the way that he does.
14 – Demonic Mental Health Awareness Post In which I talk about why I want to get Crowley a therapy voucher.
15 – The Curious Incident of The Flaming Sword in Good Omens A meta on why the Flaming Sword has no deeper meaning. Or does it? (Updated: here's a reblog from @queerfables who did a wonderfully exellent job at calmly explaining all the swordy questions I was yelling about! Consider this meta solved.)
16 – Ceci n'est pas une plume A meta in which I'm a bit of a nerd for language and also explain why learning French and magic the human way says so much about Aziraphale as a character.
17 – The meaning of "I forgive you" A meta in which I explain what both "I forgive you"s mean and why Aziraphale will always fight for what is right until he wins. Also, the lovely @sharksbeerr translated it to Chinese on Weibo!
18 – Memory, or the lack thereof, in Season 2 A little reblog on how memory is a big and unresolved, leaky-bucket theme in Season 2.
19 – „It‘s always too late.“ (ft. Crowley‘s watch)
A short meta about that lines from Season 2 that won‘t leave my brain (and also Crowley‘s mysterious watch).
Addendum:
The one non-spoiler-y ask I could come up with about S2 that was actually answered by Neil, yay!
Also, this wholesome little post I added to that Mr. Gaiman also reblogged. :‘)
*** This is a work in progress and will get updated every time I post a new meta! ***

Book!Aziraphale things you should know (based on this post about Crowley)
1. When the Bentley gets a parking ticket he’s the one who blows it up.
2. He’s so good at his taxes he’s been investigated for fraud.
3. He intimidates “men in dark suits” trying to buy his shop.
4. He just Takes Bites of Crowley’s food.
5. When Warlock got older, he became his tutor. Neither he nor Crowley wanted to teach him math, but they both taught him very different history.
6. He fights with Crowley about directions.
7. At Warlock’s birthday, Warlock takes a gun from a security guard and accidentally fires it at Crowley. Aziraphale turns it into a water gun (and then feels embarrassed)
8. He (Aziraphale) also gets hit with a cream cake at said party, which he swipes off his jacket and licks off his fingers in the Bentley (because free snacks).
9. Aside from books of prophecy and Wilde first editions, he specializes in Bibles with printing errors.
10. “Are you going to introduce me to your new body?” “Oh? Yes. Yes, of course—“ The way Michael Sheen delivers the “oh” in the audiobook is exactly what you’re imaging.
11. He can’t beat the gay allegations. Not that he actually tries.
12. When looking for a body, before he finds Madame Tracy, he lands in an American televangelist preaching about armageddon. He gets so annoyed that he starts correcting the sermon (then gets excited when he realizes he’s on television).
13. He and Crowley can’t stop having little side chats while trying to actively stop the Apocalypse from starting.
14. He’s ✨touchy✨ with Crowley.
15. READ OR LISTEN TO GOOD OMENS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

All the music you didn’t hear: The Good Omens soundtrack is lying to you. *Part2*
The Bonkers Meta Series 2: Electric Boogaloo. This week on the chopping block: The official Good Omens 2 soundtrack album!
Part 1 l Part 2
If you, like me, have absolutely no respect for your time (or your 2023 Spotify Wrapped) and are willing to sit with the show and the David Arnold score album running side by side to match up all the songs, then you too can find out what I did: exactly 6 songs in the album go off the rails in the show in a very specific way. And you know what they say about a song…
So let’s break these misbehaving songs down, shall we?
A Bell Tolls for Thee
There are SO MANY DAMN BELLS in season 2. I think the sound department might have had a competition going. But I want to show you the bells that happen in the music of the show, but not in the album.
Specifically, there are tubular bells all over the score in David Arnold’s orchestration in season 2 (and some in season 1). It’s an instrument used throughout classical music to represent grandfather clocks or church bells, signalling time passing, like striking the hour. But, this season has done something devious: it sets up your expectation by putting tubular bells in all the regular places in the score, so that you notice less when they whack a big tubular bell ring in a place where it should not be, at a key moment in the story.
Feel free to go back and listen to these time codes in the show, it’s going to become obvious real fast.
S2E1 - 14:55 l Song : Into Soho Aziraphale answers the door to a naked Gabriel, and recognizes him for the first time. A bell rings once.
If you listen closely to the album version, David Arnold recorded a beautiful and uplifting ending to this track. Too bad we never get to hear it in the show, it splits off into a bell toll and then a reorchestration. We never hear the end!
S2E1 - 42:30 l Song : Tiny Miracle Aziraphale & Crowley perform a class-A miracle, and Crowley pokes the barrier with his finger. A bell rings twice.
Same thing for Tiny Miracle! The ending of the song in the album we never get to hear in the show, it gets interrupted by 2 tubular bell tolls and another reorchestration of other music.
S2E3 - 33:59 l Song : Reprise - Something Terrible Aziraphale considers the statue of Gabriel in his present day trip to Edinburgh. A bell rings three times.
This one starts from silence with 3 bell tolls as a reprise of “Something terrible” starts just after it. The second and third bells are woven into the music on beats they never appear in those bars on the recording.
S2E4 - 38:00 l Song : Zombie Dressing Room Shax asks Beelzebub for permission to attack the bookshop. A bell rings four times.
This one is extra weird (see my first music post). Even though we stretch out Zombie Dressing Room way after the dressing room scene is over and into the Shax in hell scene, it still manages to work in 4 new tubular bell rings that aren’t there in the score, and we never hear the same ending as on the album.
S2E5 - 00:05 - 10:14 l Song : Reprise - Something Terrible Shax requisitions troops and gathers her legion. A bell rings five times.
This one is tricky because Shax’s scene in hell is cut up 5 times, but you probably see where this is going: every time we cut back to Shax there’s a new bell rings once that wasn’t in the recording.
S2E5 - 29:56 l Song : Shax Shax arrives from Hell in the elevbator to attack the bookshop. A bell rings six times.
This is the last time in the season when we hear extra tubular bells. In a pretty bizarre turn of events, the demons Shax has mustered have walked in from down the street, but Shax takes the elevator to arrive at the bookshop. What a way to treat your troops. In any case, we get a final song that doesn’t get the ending it deserves, and gets cut off in favour of a reprise.
Taco Bell: Live Confused So why put so much effort into signalling these 6 specific actions with bell tolls? The first three are clearly Aziraphale & Crowley related, while the second three are Shax related. (All the Shax actions accompanied by bells have flashing lights above Shax.) Could this be a way of signalling we are halfway to the second coming, 6 hours until midnight on the armageddon clock? Or something else entirely?
Every time we hear the added bells, the soundtrack in the show deviates from the planned endings written for the album. Are these mistakes in the timeline, that were never supposed to happen in the ineffable plan? I guess we'll all be listening together for tubular bells in season 3... -------------------------------- Thanks to @embracing-the-ineffable for the encouragement, and the Ineffable detective agency for all their hard work. Part 1 is here!

GOS2 Spoilers Masterpost (ONLY EP. 1-2)
alright, you read the title, you know what's under here - gonna tag everyone who helped this if I know them, thanks to everyone for their contribution and for being agents of chaos the way satan intended. love you all
[Last update/edit: 24/07 - 14:10CET]
first of all, we got some amazing posts from @incorrectquoteswwdits mostly about the first scene in heaven with crowley as an angel:
angel!crowley creating stars and aziraphale thinking he's calling him beautiful
more on that
aziraphale's lies make the lesbians have problems, apparently
communist aziraphale be like OUR CAR
isolation and doubts
THEN we have a detailed recount of the first episode by a kind anon! again, thank you @incorrectquoteswwdits for sharing <3
@goodomens-hints posted a lenghty and detailed recount of the first episode as well with some little hits at future episodes (nothing too big on the post itself, but BE CAREFUL, the blog is actually posting some other spoilers from episodes past the second one!)
@goodomensjail gave us a detailed recount of the first scene, with angel!crowley starting to question stuff and eventually shielding aziraphale with his wing
@mikubinders gives us SOME GOOD GOURMET SHIT by telling us that:
"Beelzebub kidnaps and threatens Crowley, tells him that ze could put a price on his head but ze doesn't want to. After that Crowley comes back to the bookshop and Good-old-fashioned lover boy plays while he drives there. "I'm back" happens. Aziraphale makes Crowley do a silly little apology dance so he forgives him and so they work together"
after thinking this last spoiler was fake, an anon came through and confirmed its real! we also have new context! (sent by an anon to yours tuly)
anon came through with some details about the Everyday record, told us Queen is actually tied to CROWLEY and not to the Bentley, and gave us more context to the OUR CAR and OUR BOOKSHOP bit (sent by an anon to yours tuly)
as for what happens during the Job flashback, after which the sitting five feet apart on a rock in front of the sea happens, a bunch of different versions of what actually happens are going around. @thesherrinfordfacility kept up with the madness surrounding it, so im gonna post here the last two versions of events/details.
first one:
In the Job section, Aziraphale is questioning gods decision of punishing Job. Then u see him in heaven w Muriel here and they are looking thru a long scroll that has instructions from god and he's trying to make sense of it. Muriel is telling him that god and satan made a bet about what Job would do and that's why they are testing him. And az is like whatttt why would god do that that's mean!
When Az finds out they're going to kill Jobs kids, he goes down to Earth to save them while using his angel voice until he realizes he's speaking to Crowley. He sees Crowley about to enter the kids room and tells Crowley "I know you, you wouldn't do this" and Crowley tells him he doesn't know him really. (
AND TY TENNANT IS SASSY AND FLIRTS W AZ??!??!? (*) And THATS when crowley goes "well he seems nice" from the clip. He wasn't jealous tho, like he thought it was funny since they are literally there to supposedly kill these kids and one of them is flirting lol.
The moment of 'weird-beard Crowley' was actually more focused on azi and him questioning God. Crowley tempts Azi w food and u see him struggle but then he gobbled it down and he cries bc he thinks crowley is going to bring him to hell (that's the scene where they are sitting on that thing with the pretty horizon) Crowley tells him "you're just an angel who follows gods as will as much as he can" and Az says that sounds lonely, and Crowley agrees, which is a callback to when he asked Crowley if he was lonely being on what Crowley calls "his own side", and Crowley said no. Crowley then tells him "i'm a demon. I lied"
(*): it was told this isn't actually canon canon, it's up for interpretation - some reported Ty's character is just the classic bratty teenager UPDATE: NOPE anon cleared it up and apparently it DOES read as flirty because ty's character is a little bitch, love that for us
and then we have the second one:
"Episode 2 is half present day things [...], and half the Job story/flashback. Crowley is the demon sent by Satan to torment "God's favorite human" Job to see if Job will curse God, in one big bet between God and Satan. Aziraphale comes to try to stop him, discovers they recognize each other but haven't seen each other since "the flood" and that Crowley seems to have changed since the flood, because he is willing to sacrifice the goats, and ruin Job's house. Crowley says he "has a permit" to torment Job FROM GOD. Aziraphale brings this up to the archangels that gleefully explain that yes it's a bet with Satan and that Job will suffer, but he will get everything back 3-fold by the end. And he will get NEW children. This disturbs Aziraphale, he does not want the CURRENT children to die, he understands the familial love that the archangels do not. He goes to stop Crowley not with power since he has the permit but to reason with him. Aziraphale says things to the effect "I KNOW you don't want to harm them I KNOW you and you don't want to kill children" and Crowley is defiant, but then…. It is revealed that he never killed any of the goats either, he transformed them into pigeons to hide them. And he is hiding the children away in the basement but destroying the house to make it look like they died. He transforms the three kids into lizards to hide them, then when the Archangels descend to give Job his rewards and tell him his wife will bear 7 new children, Job and his wife are in despair because they love their children. Crowley comes in pretending to be a human doctor and he and Aziraphale LIE to the angels faces about how babies are made and trick the angels into thinking Jobs three original children are NEWLY BORN children. Which fools Gabriel, who has only ever seen God make Eve fully grown from Adam's ribs. Crowley then meets Aziraphale at the rock. Aziraphale is crying and says "im ready for you to take me to hell" because he has LIED to angels and foiled God's plans. Crowley is gentle and comforts him that he is still an angel and "I won't tell anyone if you won't" and they reminisce that it's lonely being a different kind of demon and a different kind of angel that sort of do what they feel is right. Heavily implying that they are the same and have each other now. The end of episode 2.
that's what's going around for now, but ill add stuff if we find anything new - also feel free to add to this yourself or send me stuff!
#good omens#good omens spoilers#its not much but its honest work#TY TENNANT IS MAKING ME LAUGH SO MUCHHHHH

September's Scrumptious Fictions
Another month where I wish I could have read more fictions! But definitely some gems in the ones I did read, among which a couple of stories that touched me at a very a deep level, and I'm so, so glad I read them!
As usual I will tag the writers whose Tumblr usernames i know, so they can know they bring joy to their readers. Hope you enjoy these lovely stories as much as i did! If you do, please, please, please, let the writers know!
WIPs:
Wavelengths & Frequencies by @shadesofecclescakes and imposterssyndrome @maaikeatthefullmoon (Rated E, chapters 9/?)
If you feel like you're going through one of those phases where you need to curl up on a sofa with a cup of hot chocolate and something good to read, something safe and reassuring, then this fantastic fiction is for you. It's a human AU enemies-to-lovers fiction where Aziraphale and Crowley can't stand each other, but work for the same media corporation as radio DJs and have to attend charity events together. The characterisation is spot on and the humour great. And what an incredible soundtrack! I honestly can't tell you how happy each notification of a new chapter of this story makes me!
You're The Bad Guys by Nebz_AlphaCentauri @alphacentaurinebula (Rated E, chapters 12/?)
Cold War human AUs in which Aziraphale is an MI6 agent ans Crowley a KGB agent. They get assigned to the same mission in Berlin in 1981. They're on opposite sides. Great characterisation and suspense! And great nods to canon!
Love Lost Is Sweeter When It's Finally Found... by Hopeless_old_romantic_67 (Rated E, chapters 13/?)
After the Second Coming has been averted God allows Crowley and Aziraphale to live as humans for as many loves as they want, but with no memory of who they really are. Welcome to a Quantum Leap-y fiction, inspired by the video Past Loves by Børns. Unlike me, most of you will probably get all the names refernces!
My own WIP And I Did (Rated E, chapters 9/14)
Post season two fiction featuring Supreme Archangel Aziraphale and Grand Duke of Hell Crowley. Satan tasks Crowley with leading Hell to the End of the World. God tasks Aziraphale with leading Heaven to the End of the World. They both have made their choice and they were never going to make a different one.
Complete works:
Wrong Turn by anticyclone, D20Owlbear (Rated Teen, 37,565 words)
Honestly, I don't know why this fiction touched me so much. I just couldn't stop thinking about it for days after I finished it. It's a post season 1 fiction where Crowley suddenly finds himself in a parallel universe at the time the apocalypse is just about to happen. The Crowley and Aziraphale in that universe have a different history to our Crowley and Aziraphale. All our Crowley wants to do is to go back to his universe and his very own angel, but how? As you follow the main plot and focus on Crowley's thoughts and actions, you'll start slowly feeling the other story get hold of you, and it won't let go until the very end and beyond.
Happiness, More Or Less by mllekurtz (TheKnittingJedi) (Rated M, 21,445 words)
If you read only one story out of this list, make it this one. This human AU moved me so very much I cried. Crowley moves into his new flat in Soho, only to discover the flat in haunted by the ghost of the owner of the bookshop downstairs. I won't tell anything else about the plot other than it does have a very sweet happy ending, and it gets there via a rollercoaster of emotions. This is really one of those fictions that leave me in awe of the fandom's talent and creativity. Read it, read it, read it!
Time Marches Forward by @bellisima-writes (Rated M, 129,182 words)
Post season two story with an incredible plot! This story has multiple POVs, including Adam's, who's one of the main characters, and rightly so! Aziraphale is in heaven as supreme archangel, while on earth Adam and Crowley form a very strong bond. We follow their journey in the two years between the end of season two and the second coming. Lots of angst with a very happy ending!
One Shots:
Accidental Sleepover by MetalMiez (Rated Teen, 11,525 words)
Set after season one, this fiction is a sweet account of how Crowley and Aziraphale get to confess their feelings to each other. There are references to season two, but in this what-if universe it never happened.
We Keep Love In A Photograph by @itsscottiesstark (Rated G, 2,066 words)
A very sweet and credible account of what might have happened next on that night in 1941, and what Aziraphale and Crowley's thoughts might have been.
One Perfect Day by PirateFanatic (Rated Teen, 4,821 words)
Canon universe story where Crowley and Aziraphale are safe. In fact, they are about to go to a wedding. As Aziraphale dresses up, Crowley moans that he doesn't want to go, but Aziraphale doesn't give him a choice. And, in the words of the writer, with good reason.
The Bentley And The Pumpkin by graywings @smua70 (Rated G, 1,559 words)
Such an incredibly sweet and fun story, told in the Bentley's POV! The poor car was feeling lonely there in the South Downs, away from the hustle and bustle of London. But not to worry, she'll have her happy ending!

vis à vis characterisation through dialogue, here are some examples of out-of-context canon moments used in my human AUs (just a handful off the top of my head)!
Crowley shrugged one impressively cool shoulder, but the nonchalance of it was compromised by the ferocity of his grin. “If you like.” [BNF #8]
&&
post-prophcon python (Today at 9:19 AM): yea, well. more of that if you like [BNF #14]
“Oh," he sighed, unable to help the dreamy spill of affection that tainted it against his will. "Thank you.” (ATWS #1)
“Oh, no no no, no,” Crowley wagged a finger to stop him, sitting forward eagerly. “I’m the thigh. All my ‘things’— yeah.” [BNF #10] && 4 other instances of "nonono" in BNF alone 😂
The you-wouldn’t-dare-kick-this-puppy-would-you? eyes persisted. // Aziraphale caught the keys quickly, startling with surprise like he hadn’t expected that stupid little trick to work instantly, before he burst into the brightest smile Crowley had seen in days. [ATWS #5] (this one was a delightful accident, pointed out by a commenter)
Crowley paused a step away from the pavement to look at him directly. The footpath outside the pub was wide enough to fit a few outdoor dining tables, where swathes of people were already loitering in one large cluster. // “I promise I won’t leave you on your own,” Crowley said seriously, even tipping his sunglasses down his nose to meet Aziraphale’s eye directly. [ATWS #6]
“That’s lunacy,” he finally scoffed, so enraptured by this news that the group’s combined efforts to headbutt his avatar across the map went completely unnoticed. “We’re on each other’s streams all the time.” [ATWS #7]
[He was] squinting without his glasses to read the fine print as if the ingredients had changed since the last three times he’d read it, when the unmistakable presence of another person shifted the air around him. He looked over his shoulder, found nothing, then jumped when he turned back around. / “Hello, Aziraphale!” [ATWS #1]
and a bonus one, from my unpublished editor au that i giffed myself bc i enjoy this bit way too much:
No one had ever gotten the wrong idea before. Everybody read Aziraphale like a book. Except the writer, apparently. “You’re gay?” Crowley asked, genuinely flabbergasted. “Yes,” Aziraphale breathed, genuinely flabbergasted.

Five Fics Friday: September 27/24
Happy Friday everyone, and it's the first 5FF of Year Six! Let's start off the weekend with some FANTASTIC new fics added to my MFL list just THIS WEEK!! Enjoy!!
RECENT MFLs
Unremarkable by DiscordantWords (M, 2,056+ w., 1/5 Ch. || WiP || Post-S4, Kidnapping, Angst with Happy Ending, Rosie in this Fic, John's a Mess) – It's an unremarkable day. John has a date. Sherlock has a case. And both Mycroft and Rosie have just been shoved into the boot of a car.
Look Me in the Eyes by Lock_John_Silver (M, 4,710+ w., 3/12 Ch. || WiP || POV Alternating, Homophobia, BAMF Harry Watson, John's Childhood, Sherlock's Childhood, Domestic Violence, Eye Contact, Army Doctor John, Captain John, Bisexual John, Smitten John / Sherlock, Caring Mycroft, Sherlock's Mind Palace) – From an early age, John has been fascinated by eyes. The older he got, the more dangerous that fascination became. It all culminated with a blow that scarred John's soul for life.
The Perfect Place by meet_me_in_samarra (T, 10,070 w., 14 Ch. || Alternate First Meeting AU || Crack / Humour, Mutual Pining, Misunderstandings, Only One Bed) – Sherlock needs a flatmate and already has the perfect person in mind. Now he only needs to convince his object of desire to move in and also find out if he desires Sherlock as well.
Through the Silence by Enterthetadpole (M, 11,548 w., 12 Ch. || Post-TRF, Grief/Mourning, Case Fic, Supportive Greg, BAMF John, Canon Divergence, Friends to Lovers) – John watched the best man he ever knew fall from the rooftop of St. Bart's but refused to give up hope that somehow Sherlock may still be alive. If he was, John would find him. No matter what or who stood in his way.
GOOD OMENS FIC RECS
My Soul is Set in Darkness by hubblegleeflower (G, 2,767 w., 1 Ch. || Emotional Exhaustion, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Hard Times) – Crowley knows how this story goes, now, that ends with a powerful, warmhearted angel huddled in the dark, avoiding even the dim glow of the streetlamps. This is what happens when—and the angel knows this, knows better, just like Crowley does—when you spend six thousand years among humans and still sometimes forget... There is no way to solve humans' problems for them, even with infinite miracles. Which Aziraphale, as it turns out, does not have. What counts as comfort? What counts as help? What kind of wisdom could they possibly turn to, if an angel and a demon are both at a loss? Aziraphale wants to help the whole world. Crowley would settle for comforting one disconsolate angel. What miracle could possibly be powerful enough?
