Raaaaaaghhh my preorder is pre no moreeeeeee!! I've been waiting for this for almost a year now yippiiiiii (my wallet hasn't tho (+ i have the hospital towa preordered now as well, i hate this game /affectionate))

Tried taking some "cOoL PeRsPeCtiVe" photos (the figure was kind of a pain to set up tho, so I didn't try out different variants after assembling it once)

Here's a close-up and the face variants (I was kinda surprised that they did the right eye differently for these (especially since it barely shows from underneath the emo hair), not complaining tho (I'm glad to have a good clear ref of the eye))

My Hisoka noodle stopper fig finally has a toilet-buddy (my sense of humor is really nuanced and intellectual btw) ("this could be us, but I'm a shy pooper")

And here I just felt his left hand was looking a bit empty (I realized that the L is facing the wrong way only AFTER taking the picture but I think it's funnier this way (I'm too lazy to fix it))

Pile One: The Flame

You should hope for vengance. There is a person in your life, who is actively blocking you from pursuing something else, other than them. They are blocking your transformation by underhanded means. They have so far successfully seemed to dodge every turn of accountability for how they mistreated you. This covers a broad range of possibilities for the collective, but it's someone you have been fighting with for a while, perhaps even years. You may have given up on justice.

It has been difficult to overcome this person and their energy by yourself. So, you need to begin accepting help from others. Pile Two: The Statues

You should hope for forgiveness. In our lives, we all do wrong to others. There is a specific person, perhaps tied to a specific event, that you have hurt in the past. This may be an old wound, but a wound you often go back to. You hurt this person badly, but not maliciously, and you have since been trying to change yourself. You wish that you could make it right, and your oppurtunity to do so is coming in.

You may meet with this person again after a long time. You have been putting the work in to heal yourself from your past mistakes and regrets, and this person will see it. They have also grown and changed, and perhaps looking back they see that you should have a place in their life, if you have truly changed. So, they will seek you out, and you will have an opportunity to earnestly apologize. I am seeing that, even if you are not perfect, they will see your regret, and forgive you for the old wound. It will heal, and no matter if you both will continue to see each other, the burden will be lifted from you.

But, there is a second chance coming for you to take advantage of it.

You will need to keep doing what you are doing. It will be coming to you, and you cannot go to it. You need to tap into your patience, and be empathetic to yourself. Listen to your emotions. Understand your frustrations. Take everything day by day. This has been a heavy burden that you have lost sleep over. You don't need to lose anymore sleep. All will be well. Release any expectations and fears, and dive headfirst into the unknown.

You should hope for more confidence. I am seeing that you may be shy or a reserved person. You may describe yourself as a lone wolf or you just genuinely don't like interacting with people very much. Whatever the cause is, you shouldn't leave behind your dream of stepping into your personal power.

There may have been conflicts in the past that hindered your self growth. Arguments with friends and family, school bullies, and/or discouraging teachers all played a part in making you feel like you should hide who you are. Even if you prefer to be more private or out of the spotlight, it was made worse by those around you. Nurture yourself, be kind to yourself. You can be more confident than you are now. Remember, you are the master of your own world. You can create anything you wish, but first you have to take the leap of faith. Your transformation is coming. Work on yourself, slowly move out of your comfort zone. For some of you, volunteering at a soup kitchen or having a role in a play will help you. Something with a community where you can see that your active participation contributes, and you can build your personal power that way.

Now, time for the grub to giant creature speedrun. Oh and there's a guy with stripes there too.

The sundyne life stages are:

'Egg, Early-Stage Larva, Late-Stage Larva, Prepupa, Chrysalis, Juvenile (aka hatchlings, dawns, or stilts) molt 1 (of 4), Subadult (aka drakes or kits) molt 5(of 7), Adult (adult females can be called prongs or sights while adult males can be called crowns or shines)'

Here's some more info:

They follow a pretty similar process to Drecu. Clutches are around 6-12 eggs that the female lays on the male’s lower back/hip area (they're held in place with the male's big gonopods)

Larva are soft n squishy. As they’re growing, they look almost identical to Drecu (even their extra little arms are hard to notice because they stay under the body most of the time) the most noticeable difference is the prepupa size and darker coloring, which sometimes aren’t as pronounced as a drew here. Sundyne grow Very fast (multiple individuals have noted that it’s pretty painful during the juvenile and subadult stages). Unlike Drecu, how they emerge from the chrysalis depends on good ol’ genetics rather than pheremones/enzymes. Even freshly pupated, there is a notable difference between male and female that continues on to subadult and adult stages. They're called dawns because of their muted coloring, or stilts because of their disproportionate leg and arm length.

Not all adult females have these, but the one I drew has those branches on her horns as an indication of fertility/matriarch status. Reproductive females will drop their horns and regrow them with this new feature; the more clutches they have, the greater the size and number of prongs. Nonreproductive females might drop and regrow their horns due to environmental changes (such as better nutrition or isolation from other sundyne), but they won’t get the prongs.

Males can’t shed their horns at all! However, as you can see here, they are generally more brightly colored and yellowish than females. The male pictured here actually has an absolutely goated color scheme, he’d be seen as extremely attractive and popular thanks to his dark black and prominent yellow coloration. They see yellow as their special royal color, since that pigment is what makes their signature bright orange patterns (as opposed to the simple red of Rox. The black is actually just a very dark blue). I was playing around with how much yellow tone the average Sundyne could have, as opposed to the mutation where they *only* have the yellow color (an extreeemely special and cool thing for them)

Misc fun facts:

-The random guy for scale has several splice traits going on at once: stripes, whiskers, and naturally growing pink hair! This is pretty common (I just haven’t drawn a lot of humans for example XD). Now that they aren’t being monitored or intentionally tailored, these naturalized gene mods just mix n match randomly.

-he’s not pictured here duh, but the current Seru (Emperor) has the all-yellow mutation, which was part of why he was able to take the other clans by storm ( thanks to that “born holy” type charm that they just couldn’t ignore. ). His giant angry wife, however, is fairly standard as far as Sundyne females go.

-As you could’ve guess from what I just said about the average Sundyne egg clutch size, Maro actually *had* around 5 blood-siblings from the same clutch as her! I wonder what happened to them…

How slutty is his ponytail?

Rating men's ponytails in wuxia/xianxia I've seen. Part 2. Part 1.

Jiang Cheng (The Untamed) 6/10

The most underrated ponytail in The Untamed. He's canonically "maidenless" but that's just because Zidian is even sluttier than his ponytail and that scares people. That's OK, boo. You're a solid 6 on my scale.

Wei Wuxian (The Untamed) 7/10

This ponytail isn't half as slutty as that luscious red ribbon that falls somewhere between necromancer work wear and sexy lingerie. Truly a look that takes him effortlessly from office to the club! Whether he's summoning the dead or making goo-goo eyes at Lan Zhan, Wei Wuxian's ponytail slays.

Wen Kexing (Word of Honor) 7/10

I really wanted to rate him higher but he mostly wears a little bun, which falls outside the parameters of this assessment. So I am rating this anemic little ponytail higher than it probably deserves.

Xiao Heng (The Double) 8/10

Duke Su always wears his hair in a neat, proper, masculine bun held by a golden guan that suits his high status and emphasizes his power. He only wears it in a ponytail in the situations where having long hair flying around your face could get you killed: during battle. He also does it when he's training shirtless in the rain, as one does. His simple, unadorned ponytail serves cunt way above its paygrade.

Xue Yang (The Untamed) 8/10

This crazy motherfucker's ponytail is just as chaotic and unpredictable as he is. He's so dangerous that even his ponytail could probably kill a man at 50 paces.

Young Zhao Yuanzhou and Li Lun (Fangs of Fortune) 9/10

I mean...just look at them! Can't even be bothered to comb their hair properly before tying it up in shaggy little ponytails because they know they're going to tumble right back into bed anyway, so why bother. So slutty.

Scorpion King (Word of Honor) 9/10

The braids! The silver and turquoise guan! The lavish yet restrained and obviously kinky longing they imply!

Mu Sheng (Love Game in Eastern Fantasy) 10/10

I've only seen a couple episodes so far, but this guy's ponytail is a whole mood. It looks like something a 1960s pinup model would wear, and he flounces it around like one constantly, pouting and letting strands of hair fall seductively over his face.

Xu Qi'an (Guardians of the Dafeng) 10/10

Xu Qi'an's ponytail is so slutty it's on OnlyFans. It's so slutty he needs to use birth control every time he does his hair. It's so slutty it whistles at construction workers when he walks past them. How long does it take him to curl his hair to give it the maximum bounce and fullness? Why does he also wear it on the top of his head like a 60s pinup girl? How can everyone tell he's not a virgin? PUH-LEEZE! I still haven't finished this show, but as far as I'm concerned, this ponytail is the star.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Character Heights

Going to do a general round up of all the character heights stated by devs, through statue/statuette scaling. I will later be including game model height for datv. Source expansions (images and discussion) and spoiler characters under the cut. I will be updating this in the future as more come out.

Lace Harding does have a previously stated height of 4'8 / 142.24 cm from dai's game model, but it is unclear if they've kept her that height. Though likely, she has been otherwise left out of the list at the moment.

NOTE: Both John Epler and Brianne Byatte have made statements about character height however they are caveated with the fact they don't remember the model height and are going with vibes/what sounds right. Given this, once models are available, model height will be the determining height for characters.

With that said, there are two conflicting data points for Neve's height. While Brianne has given approval for a guess, Neve also has a scaled figure. These have historically matched up with stated character heights or models. While I personally err towards the figure/model height over vague/unsure dev statement when there is no in-lore reference or hard dev statement; I have included both heights and sorces as a range for a non-biased post.

I try not to make judgement calls on canon without referring to the dev stated lore heirarchy (games and wot supersede the novels and comics, then official (canon) third party additions (so no idw comic) and all of those supersede dev word unless dev word is correcting misunderstanding/error.) So until game models are available, I will be leaving things as a range.

Neve [Source] [Source 2] Based on the conversion of the height on a 1:6 scale. This runs on the assumption that Neve's statuette base is the same thickness as previous Dragon Age Darkhorse statuettes and took off the range of 0.3-0.5" / 0.76-1.27 cm from her height giving her statue herself a height of 10.8-11" / 27.43-27.94 cm, converting that on a 1:6 scale gives us the range of 5'4-5'5 / 162.56-165.1 cm. If one were to not exclude the base from the height conversion and just convert the full 11.3" / 28.702 cm on a 1:6 scale, Neve's height would be 5'7 / 170.18 cm

Solas [Source] Solas is not only stated to be 6ish ft by Trick Weekes, but also his gaming head on a 1:4 scale gives him the height of 6'. When remarked that Solas is 6' when compared to another character, John Epler also did not dispute that height marker.

Varric [Source 1] [Source 2] His gaming heads statue on a 1:4 scale gives him the range of 5’ - 5'3 / 152.4-160.02 cm. But given that his in-game model is just of 5' / 152.4 cm the best rule of thumb is to go with the echoed height of 5'. Below is the screenshout of Varric's dai model with the line ending at the top of his skull.

CHAPTER 1: THE ARRIVAL - Retired angel Aziraphale and retired demon Crowley's lives are upended when a visitor arrives on the doorstep of Aziraphale's bookshop, bringing chaos. Local shopkeepers Maggie and Nina get locked in to Nina's coffee shop when Crowley loses his temper. Heaven and Hell are suspicious, and Crowley and Aziraphale have a disagreement.

In 1941 Crowley and Aziraphale encounter some surprising adversaries, old and new, as the Nazi spies who almost entrapped Aziraphale return as zombies from the dead, intent on preventing him from attempting a bullet catch on the West End stage.

10. last place is minthara lmao she's 5'3" (161cm) max. I love her being tiny and feral. still absolutely ripped, don't get me wrong, just... on a smaller scale. also drow are canonically the shortest elves (drizzt is 5'4"/162cm), and I know women are taller than men, so she'd still be a little under average, but its more middling in menzoberranzen. and she's still above goblins and stuff. but then she joins the party and is just towered over by all these men and surface elves and she is compensating

9. shadowheart is 5'6". she is the physical embodiment of y/n. I guess this is a little short for elves, because of the gender thing, but I just cannot see her being defined as "tall" or "short". like she's short, in comparison to the other companions, but that only emphasizes their enormity because she is so perfectly average.

8. I like wyll being 5'8"/173cm or so bc he just so thoroughly embodies short king energy. think of that marcello hernandez bit where he's like short kings put in the work, not because we wanted to, but because we had to. I'm sorry but wyll is just way too kind and good at dancing to have lived his whole life over 5'9". bro is tom holland. (his dad is comfortably over six feet. this is definitely not a source of contention)

7. astarion, I think, is canonically 5'9"/175cm, which is tall for male elves, but not by a ridiculous margin. i think it fits into him being like, default-ly desirable, where he sort of fits into a lot of different relationship molds without it looking weird, because its a whole part of his character than he's conventionally attractive. like the vampire stuff is the interesting part, but without that he looks averagely, disposably pretty, which is why so many people see right through him.

6. gale is exactly one inch taller than astarion. I like him being a kind of remus-lupin tall, where he like slouches a lot and doesn't super recognize it, which is amplified by the fact that he spent the majority of his adult life exclusively around tara and a literal goddess. he doesn't really grasp the social implications.

5. lae'zel ends up around gale-height (5'10"/178cm). I know some people swear by shortzel, but I like the idea of githyanki being gangling and alien. her in-game model doesn't look like it should be that tall, but her limbs are just a bit too long. I like her walking around camp in an uncanny valley way, where she looks so clearly 5'6" until she's standing right next to you.

4. I picture jaheira in her prime as taylor swift with elf ears. she's just under six foot, or ~181cm. its that whole thing about presidents/authority figures tending to be taller, because people like to literally look up to their leaders for some reason. she just has that confidence. she's not like outrageously tall, and she's totally comfortable with minsc etc being taller than her, but she's just. six feet tall.

3. karlach!! is 6'2"/188cm!!! (not including horns). I've seen people say she's a little more than that, but I don't think most people are grasping how tall 6'2" is, especially if you're like fully built. like, rhea ripley is 5'7". karlach is a UNIT. anything above 6'2" is reaching freak-of-nature status, where height is like. the only thing you see when you look at them.

2. speaking of freaks of nature, minsc is 6'4"/193cm, and he has been since he was like 13. he has lived his whole life being taller than 97% of people he meets. he had to be pulled aside in gym class and warned that he couldn't wrestle the other kids anymore because he might crush them. and he was heartbroken!! because he's like!! a great dane!!!! and he just wants to play!!

1. halsin is comically large. ≥6'5"/196cm. he is a statistical anomaly. i think he canonically assumes he's part orc, but I think it's funnier if he's literally just an elf. his parents are 5'6". he's never even worked out. doctors hate him.

the only race-related halsin theory i'll accept is that he's a bear who turned into a human and not the other way around

Hello hello! Thank you for these questions! It is easier to prove that a thing has happened than it is to prove a thing hasn't happened 💦 But will do my best to be brief!

In Summary 1. No in-game proof (as of this post) 2. Disproven (Wish Upon a Star, Trey MyRoom Birthday) 3. No proof (as of this post) 4. No: "Housewarden" (寮長) and "Prefect" (監督生) are two different things! 🦐 5. No: Deuce explains that his magic only "stores" damage 6. No: those are both Epel! 🍎

Details/Sources:

Rumor: "Kalim was accepted to RSA but his family bribed him into NRC" Status: No proof

It has been often hinted in the game that Kalim was homeschooled prior to NRC, and we received outright confirmation that he had never been to a school in Book 7 (censored awkwardly below for spoilers).

While it is still technically possible that he received a letter to RSA and ignored it, this has never been stated in-game.

All we know is that Jamil was admitted to NRC and Kalim's letter of acceptance arrived one month later, with no mention of Kalim attending any other school or receiving any other letters in the interim.

Rumor Source: This is possibly from confusion with Jamil's overblot monologue and Kalim's delayed admittance!

During Jamil's flashback we see that he went to Crowley to ask him to not allow Kalim's promotion to housewarden, where Crowley says that "providing education comes with costs" and Kalim's family has been "quite generous in their support," but this was about his ascension to housewarden, not about his admittance.

Jamil does have a whispered line in Book 5 about how he suspects that Crowley also accepted a bribe for Kalim's enrollment but Jamil does not actually know, and neither do we!

He may be proven right in the future, but not as of this post :>

Rumor: "Trey and Cater are roommates in the game but not in the novels" Status: Disproven

We learn during Wish Upon a Star that Cater and Trey roomed together during their first two years at NRC, but this is not the case for their third year.

In addition to confirmation that all third-year students at the school have private rooms (more here) the new "Relaxing MyRoom" birthday series goes into a lot of detail about who has who for a roommate, confirming that Jade and Floyd room together while Trey is alone (Cater's birthday is not here yet!)

Rumor Source: I am not sure where this one would have come from! Maybe confusion over Cater's Wish Upon a Star wording, being misinterpreted as "We did room together (and we still do now but we did before, too)"?

Rumor: "Toboso Yana confirmed that there is more to come after Chapter 7 (people keep saying RSA content is confirmed?)" Status: No proof

Rumor Source: There was a new interview released along with Book 7-2, within which Yana says, "Going forward things are going to be on a much larger scale, incorporating not only the vertical and horizontal axes of the story but also expanding upon elements such as a present, past and future. Look forward to Book 7 (currently on chapter 2)!"

This was before any of us knew the direction that things were going to go in, but now--almost two years later--it seems very much like she was hinting about the events of Book 7 itself rather than anything beyond :>

Rumor: Yuu is the housewarden of Ramshackle Status: No, housewardens and the prefect are very much two different things!

Deuce explains that the player character was put in charge of Grim, saying nothing about them being in charge of Ramshackle Dorm.

It is possible they also could have been named the "Grim Warden," but they were called the prefect, instead :>

Rumor Source: I am not sure! Maybe confusion over whether or not "Housewarden" and "Prefect" were the same word in the original game, made into two words for EN? (They are very much two different words on JP, too, accurately localized for EN!)

Rumor: "Deuce's signature spell doubles the force of the attack he is hit with" Status: No, Deuce explains his unique magic directly to everyone in Book 5!

He says: "I wasn't the one who made it so strong. Vil was. That spell stores up all the damage I take from someone, then hits back with it all at once. So it was only potent because Vil hit me with really potent magic to start with."

He does not take credit for his magic "doubling" Vil's attack, saying outright that all he does is store the magic he is hit with and then reflects it back upon his attacker, so he can only hit with the same degree of strength that strikes him.

Rumor Source: This one probably came from the English-language localization of Deuce's UM ^^ In the original game it is called "Bet the Limit" (and this can be heard in the audio, as he says it in English), but it was changed to "Double Down" on EN!

Both "Bet the Limit" (poker) and "Double Down" (Blackjack) are card-playing terms!

Why this was changed is unclear! I agree that it does sound very much like "doubling" is what Deuce's magic should do, but it doesn't--hence why he never uses the word "double" in his actual dialogue!

The prefect is present in the scene of Leona's labwear, but in dialogue Leona explains how he has picked up only Epel and Grim.

He threatens to pick up the prefect but does not actually do so. Maybe the rumor is from before the EN server was released, back when it was more common to try and understand the vignettes based on the visuals alone? :>

(I do not like the Thunder Junction MTG set. Its worse sin by far is repeating the terra nullius myth in an act of blatant colonialism apologia, but that terra nullius also just means a setting nearly empty of worldbuilding and a bunch of villain characters who have way better things to do wandering into a shitty saloon. Marchesa? Rakdos?? And if this happened so recently why is it all dusty?

I do like the rattlesnake horse, though. That's fun. And I like cool mounts and this is the set that introduced mounts as a concept, so... snorse.)

CR2 TN Large Magical Beast

Snorse are magical hybrids of snake and horse, volatile and dangerous creatures created as mounts of war. They proved to be ill-tempered and dangerous rides, and most that did not escape were culled. Feral populations now roam areas of chaparral and desert, where their endurance and speed combined with their venom makes them deadly hunters; ironically, their preferred prey is horses, as they can match their running capabilities. 

A small domestic population of snorse have endured, and they are mostly kept as pets and novelties for the particularly adventurous. Some keepers remove the venom glands of the animal to make them safer to own and ride; others consider this abuse. Although the original project was a failure, individual snorse have subsequently been tamed and used as war mounts, where their venomous bite and intimidating presence has been put to good use. Outlaws and fledgling nations alike may flock around a snorse rider, as the creatures have become a status symbol of might and cruelty.

This beast has the body and legs of a horse but black scales and the head of a deadly viper.
