Helloooo! Yangvik Week is over :'c Here are my works on AO3 with the fics I wrote for six out of the seven days. Maybe I didn’t explain it well before, so I’m sorry for that! Just to make it clearer: each of the six chapters are standalone stories. There’s no need to read them in order or try to follow a plot thread that doesn’t exist jajajaja I just posted everything under one single work because, with work, school, and personal life, it was way easier for me to simply update chapters in the same post. Yangvik Week 2025 Day 5 - Rumors

Yangchen had officially brought Kavik on to her team several months ago. Everything was going fine, the Shang cities were starting to become more manageable, Kavik and Yangchen had gotten closer, and Jujinta was starting to warm up to Kavik again.

But then they started to overhear some whispers.

It began in Taku when Yangchen had Kavik pretend to be her special friend so that the shangs and zongdus would think she was just a silly child. The plan had worked just like Yangchen expected; what she didn’t expect was for the rumor- she herself created- to spread.

The original rumor was to just create a diversion at Taku. But since Kavik officially agreed to join her they spent more time together, allowing more rumors to rise up and similar ones rose from different regions of the Earth Kingdom.

Yangchen first learned of how much the rumors had spread when she was visiting the Earth King in Ba Sing Se. She was walking into the meeting room with Kavik at her side when she saw two staff members of a general look at them and whisper between themselves. She didn’t think too much of it at the time until they went back to the hotel that night where Kavik had told her about how the two staff members were gossiping about the alleged rumor the two were sleeping together.

Yangchen knew the rumors were gonna spread, but she didn’t think they’d spread all the way to Ba Sing Se. For all she knew, Feishan could have gotten word of the rumors.

“You should drive some rocks through peoples heads, seriously, it’ll get them to stop talking.” Kavik suggested as the two walked down the halls of the Ba Sing Se palace. They had to attend another meeting with Feishan on the status of the Shang cities. On their way over and in they had heard the whispers of nobles and peasants alike: ‘Is that him?’ ‘Luckiest man in the world.’ ‘I can see why she likes him.’ ‘Why him?’

Yangchen kept a look of indifference at the whispers and questions she’d get asked on the street. Since they’d been intentionally caught she kept up the act, saying it was a one time thing and her focus was on helping the people.

“Just don’t look stupid and people may stop believing that unruly rumor,” Yangchen said over her shoulder as they approached the door to the Earth kings war room which doubled as a meeting room.

“Looking stupid is your specialty, and the rumors aren’t entirely untrue- Ow!” Kavik yelped as Yangchen stomped on his foot. The massive doors were opening and she didn’t want them to be overheard.

Kavik sat down on a group of chairs with other staff members of the meeting attenders.

Everyone was minding their own business, keeping quiet as their bosses spoke to each other, only making a noise if their boss called for them, but overall pretty boring.

“Is it true?” Kavik heard a woman, around his age, whisper into his ear. A group of other staff members from various bosses were looking at him. They had telepathically decided the young woman was the leader right now and would ask their questions.

“Is what true?” Kavik raised his eyebrow.

“You and the avatar-” The woman tried to find the words; other staff members made various hand gestures, some fine and a few inappropriate.

Kavik already knew what they were talking about, it annoyed him. Yangchen and Kavik may have a life behind closed doors, but it was nobody's business but their own. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. But I suggest you all quiet down before being seen making a fool of yourself.”

The young woman immediately looked down, suddenly finding the floor very interesting.

“Avatar Yangchen,” Earth King Feishan addressed her as the members of the meeting began filing out. “I would like to speak to you and your companion once everyone has exited.”

Yangchen nodded in agreement, Kavik kept a look of indifference, both having a feeling what the topic of discussion would be once the three were alone.

Once everyone was gone, Fashion motioned for Yangchen and Kavik to follow him. They walked through several halls until finally reaching a small study. Fashion motioned for Yangchen and Kavik to sit first before sitting across from them at his desk. 

“I’ve heard a number of rumors about you two,” Feishan has a neutral tone of voice and facial expression. “About you two being very comfortable with one another.”

“We’ve heard too,” Yangchen nodded along. “Before you go further, I’d just like to assure you that these rumors are in fact just rumors.”

“Good.” Feishan pressed his finger together in a tent. “Personally, I do not care what you do in your spare time. What I do care about is the other figures of power thinking I put an easily distracted teenager in charge of my two most important cities.”

Yangchen and Kavik had a mutual feeling of annoyance at this. They’d proven time and time again that the Shang cities operated perfectly fine under Yangchen, but of course even after all of it people still say just a teenager.

“Thank you for voicing your concerns,” Yangchen stood up and bowed. “I will do my best to assure the people that these are false rumors.”

Yangchen calmly walked out of the room with Kavik following. She tried not to let her annoyance show, but it greatly disturbed her that Feishan would bring those rumors. So what if she and Kavik had a personal life together? They worked too hard. 

Yangchen didn’t speak until they were at the front steps of the palace. “Maybe I should knock a few people in the head with stones. Starting with Feishan.” She mumbled quietly to her companion who let out a quick chuckle in reply.

(I am aware this is short and probably sucks, but I'm not done with Day 6 and have no idea what to do for Day 7.)

Yangvik Week Day 1 - Flustered

"By every oath ever sworn, I am sorry for this." Kavik pulled water from the tiny pond. He nearly caught one of the eternal koi in his bubble and winced as it flopped back into its home with a splash. Once he'd borrowed enough, he threw it over the avatar like a blanket. He'd only thought to shield her. But as soon as the water came between her and the fog, a silent twist doubled him over. He covered his ears, but it didn't help. The mists screamed with a voice he heard in the marrow of his bones.

His own tears blinded him. By the time he looked up again, the grayness was gone, as if the whole attack had been a shared hallucination. There was no rift in the oasis that he could see.

He heard coughing behind him. Kavik turned to see the Avatar sitting upright."
