In the runway show for New York Fashion Week in 2023 showcasing women with disabilities, many of the women are portrayed in a sexual manner. This may be in order to support a brand's view that disability can be seen as attractive and desirable. However, by portraying women in this fashion, they take the focus off of the disability and place it onto other aspects of women that can also be seen as desirable. In a way, this has both positive and negative implications. In a positive light, it shows people that they are more than their disabilities. In a negative light, the added portrayal of a sexual aspect of women takes away from the emphasis and power of solely showcasing a disability. Had the advertisement showcased the disability without placing emphasis on other aspects of a woman's body, the advertisement could be seen as more body positive and empowering.

It’s 3:23am as I am typing this and I can’t help but over think the fact that I was not a good sister to my sisters. I mean yeah obviously I’m not gonna be a saint but like… none of them message me or try to call me or even keep a snap streak. I get it that one lives in England and the other is a teenager that doesn’t want to hang out with her older sibling. It sucks.. I can’t do anything about it.

I want to hurt myself because I feel like I’ve failed as a sister to them but I won’t because I’m not going to do that. I know I can feel these things that probably aren’t true and not do that to myself because I don’t want them to worry about me. They don’t need to have that on their shoulders.

Not like I can tell them this either.. or anyone else for that matter.. but yeah.. that’s what’s goin on in my head rn. I should probably just sleep.
