Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

Shading study that quite literally came to me in a dream two weeks ago, after this post apparently beamed itself into my mind

maybe it's to maintain a sense of tension & turmoil that would eventually reach an explosive peak, a sense of tug-of-war, a back-and-forth to hammer home the ideals they want to deliver and for the viewers to chew on, but although these arguments regarding hiroshi & his stance as a man torn between his loyalty for his country & the loyalty for his Filipino friends and lover is of course important, how they write these scenes & the points they present from this week alone is getting too repetitive...? literally the argument scenes from last night & tonight between adelina & hiroshi is basically the same; the ideas were the same, the dynamics were the same: the aggressive, radical adelina, bristling rage and fear over the injustices she's seen thus far, and the cautious, inspiriting hiroshi, all hopefulness and reassurance one moment as a lover, defensiveness and sternness as a japanese soldier in another. this debate will be ever-present ofc, it is one of the series' biggest conflicts, but it is unfortunately so easy to tell when it is a.) being pulled up as a main topic to move the plot along / be a necessary conflict for character development/introspection / be the conflict to deliver the morals & messages the writers want to send to their viewers, or b.) when it is being pulled up only for the drama and filler to pass the time. like watching the characters sit down to argue for 10 minutes, do other things for the plot for 2 minutes, then sit down again to argue for the next 20 minutes. lol.

4 years ago, on a broken controller and a janky WiiU, I tried running right from the plateau to Ganon. I ragequit after about a month because aiming without gyroscope and flury rushing with a sticky right trigger was near impossible.

I know my job has not changed at all its just that I have I think become steadily more irritable/mood disordered over the past like. month. that being said I HATE WORKING NIGHT SHIFTS it's like I can't do anything bc I might do too much and get tired and then I still have to go to fucking work. tired. but if I don't do anything before work I get even more depressed bc then it feels like all I do is go to work.

My credentials being that I have great music taste, I only actually listen to like three artists so really I've got no stake in the game here, and I've listened to at least 50 albums in the last week, which like, I bet you, Billboard didn't. To add to the above, the library will take steps if they can't afford things! For example, Seattle Public Library made news when it reduced the number of digital holds patrons could place because its patrons like digital reading so much. And I encourage people to read this article--the news isn't "oh no the library can't afford to buy all the books people want," it's framed as "look at what publishers are doing to libraries with these ridiculous prices and rules" and then mentions some possible future legislation. It's the sort of thing that helps build awareness and support.

The library knows its finances and will handle that, whether it's purchasing fewer digital resources, reducing the number of pay-per-use titles available, or other options, regardless of whether they announce it publicly (a la Seattle's own announcement or the NYPL's response to budget cuts) or implement it quietly.

Saw your post from the author who was happy people were using Libby. I'm torn as I understand the author is happy to get the license renewed, but libraries only get 26 loans on a digital license vs 60-80 loans on a physical copy. I love the convenience of digital books, but if taking out the physical copy is better for the library I'm willing to make the trip. Just looking for thoughts from others about it.

It depends on the license agreement the library has and its different for every one. Some renew annually, others renew by X amount of rentals. The library does what is best for them, and the more people use their services the more they can usually argue for more funding.

This is not universal, of course, but most of the librarians I know are ecstatic when people use their services.
