Mum took my sister and I to a workshop tradional Delft blue painting at the Royal Delft Museum for her birthday. So of course we painted a nice traditional design. No really, we did! She drew a hippocampus and I drew a dragon that were both directly from a 17th century tile.

It was challenging, but really fun!

every time someone mentions the art quality in lore olympus i immediately default to the juxtaposition between these two panels

colour! nuance! depth! detail!!! both men have clear design choices and their rage is depicted both in their eye colouring and body languages! overlay texture is present but hasn’t yet reached “holy god turn up the transparency for the love of god” levels yet

literally looks like fanart made by someone who actively despises the series. ZERO depth, loss of details, that overlay is literally beating my ass in my own home it’s so overpowering.

art styles change and evolve and an artist will develop new styles and techniques as they grow, but lore olympus was literally a total degradation of skills viewed live. it was like rachel figured out how to kind of draw one guy and by god we were going to know it. the details that marked early lore episodes - gorgeous colour choices, composition, shading, soft details - ended up getting completely tossed aside in favour of the same two png cutouts pasted in various tiktok outfits over and over. it’s calarts if they had gotten a multi million dollar webtoon deal

Enemies AU with Chat Noir and Argos except while Ladybug and Chat Noir are having a complicated Enemies-To-Tentative-Allies-To-Friends(?)-To-Genuine-Trust-To-Lovers Arc with Argos suffering just watching the whole charade of dancing around each other, the moment Ryuko comes into play, they speedrun that arc in record time and suddenly the tables have turned with Chat Noir third wheeling Feligami’s (Ryargos’?) flirt-fighting while he and Ladybug are still stuck in between the Friends(?) and Genuine Trust stage.

Ladybug would lecture Ryuko to stop making out with the enemy… If it weren’t surprisingly useful at keeping Argos at bay. (Should she start making out with Chat Noir? For tactical reasons, of course. She definitely doesn’t think about making out with Chat Noir for any other reasons, uh-uh.)

Also the tables have turned further because usually Chat Noir is giving Argos heart attacks with how reckless and self-sacrificial he is but now Chat Noir has to try and shake some sense into him because, “Félix, Félix, she can TAKE your brooch if she’s that close to you— she almost did!” And Argos, having recently made out with Ryuko, is still very dazed and in Loverboy Mode so he’s there like, “It’s… Fine. I can keep it safe.” Very unconvincingly and Chat Noir is like, “Do you think she’ll stop trying to take it??” And Argos smiles softly and says, “No.” and Chat Noir just. Stops trying to convince him not to kiss her and just tells him to be careful.

Kitten news!

Some of you may remember that a few months ago I talked about being on the waiting list for a norwegian forest cat. Now we've arrived to a very important step: time to actually choose a kitten! And - as i'm already friends with the breeder; we talked a lot and (sorry, i can't help bragging about this) she even asked my opinion on the color of a tricky kitten - we got to visit the cattery and personally meet the kittens!

Right now i'm oscillating between two: Gandalf and Galadriel, both amber tabbies.

Galadriel is sleeping in my sister's lap; all the kittens were so friendly, playful and confident 😸 (although taking pictures was much easier when they got tired after all the playing...)

My third choice, if somehow i won't get an amber (but that's unlikely, i'm pretty high up on the list): Summer, a black tortie tabby.

“Switch shifts with me on Saturday.” James leans against the break room door, blocking Lily’s way out of the coffee shop.

She startles, looking up from her phone. He grins his most loveable grin, earning a suspicious look before she locks her phone and lets her bag fall off her shoulder.

“You want my Saturday closing? What happened to 'weekend closings are cruel and having to work them should be considered unfit working conditions'?”

“Just do it. Please?” He changes tactics, trading out the grin for a pleading look; big brown eyes on display.

She doesn’t speak for a long moment and he feels himself start to get antsy. Just when he’s about to speak up again, maybe offer to buy her lunch or clean the bathrooms during their next shared shift, she rolls her eyes. “Regulus is scheduled for that shift, isn’t he.”

It should be embarrassing the way his heart skips a beat when she says Regulus’ name. It isn’t though, not when he’s transported right back to the night before, when they last shared a shift and he offered him a ride home like a gentleman, citing Regulus’ safety and the length of his commute as reasons he should give in. Eventually he did, after a barrage of insults and a promise that it was only because he didn’t want to fall asleep on the bus again.

The opportunity to spend a slow evening together and further chip away at that hardened exterior, maybe even convince him to go on a date, was too good to pass up. Never mind that he was willingly signing up for a back-to-back closing and opening.

“I’m supposed to open. Pandora opens.” He tries.

This seems to get through to her, the hopeful bubble in his chest growing as Lily purses her lips and looks off to the side.

“…deal.”

James all but whoops and Lily gives into a smile, shoving him out of the way so she can leave.

“Thank you,” He follows her out the door, throwing an arm over her shoulder. “Really, I owe you one.”

“Whatever. Just ask him out soon, yeah? I’ve got ten on Barty that you’ll be dating by next payroll.”
