of course evan kelmp knows a ton of trivia. of course he can regurgitate academic facts at the drop of a hat. this is a seventeen year old kid without a family or home, whose belongings all fit in a grocery bag. evan kelmp is a fucking library kid. evan kelmp spends his days at the one place that won't turn him away, that doesn't shut him out for being poor or grimy or just plain unnerving, and he reads because it's a way to pass the time. he so rarely talks to anyone because people so rarely talk to him; he has zero social skills to speak of, but he can kill a few hours every day just devouring the ornithology section, and for evan, that's as close as he ever gets to comfort.
