Ok, the last one could've vaguely passed for a bunny, but this isn't even CLOSE!

APRIL FOOL'S! Bet you weren't expecting a second upload today! It just didn't feel right to post Gazimon without its counterpart from the Ver. 5 v-pet, Gizamon! (And as you can probably guess, you wind up with Gizamon as your Rookie instead of Gazimon if you took bad care of Pagumon!)

Although it looks a lot like a spiky frog crossed with a rug, Gizamon is actually a semi-aquatic mammal! While it's perfectly adapted for swimming, Gizamon is only able to weakly hop on land, and is actually somewhat timid.... unless you encounter it in the water, where its personality does a complete 180 and it becomes rather aggressive! (And it definitely doesn't help that being underwater would probably help it use its signature attack... which is to curl up into a ball and spin like a buzzaw at its opponents!)

Serious Chaos

So GIW has managed to get a hold of Technus’s new project. A project centered on video games.

Technus’s plan was to trap Phantom in a video game.

The game would take place in the ghost zone, and you’d have to fight different ghosts to defeat each level. The levels get more difficult as you go on. You can stop to grab ecto-dejecto to increase your health.

Anyway, the GIW got their hands on it and tested the game on the ghost scums.

Dani (Elle, 16), Danny (19), Jordan (Dan 27) and Jazz (22) (she became ver liminal due to ecto exposure) were meeting up in Amity Park when the got ambushed and sucked into…. a video game?

The GIW plays the game to test and realize that it’s actually pretty fun. And they need more funding after Vlad Masters didn’t renew the contract (something about his godchildren and daughter going missing?)

So the mass produced and sold the game.

It is an instant hit.

Now the other copies are actual programs characters and sorts, but the OG copy got lost and ended up in the shipments or games going to Gotham.

It was Wayne Famiky game night, and they all decided to play the four player game that came out last month. It was called The Ghost Zone.

They read reviews and description of the game and through it would be fun

(The Ghost Zone is a dangerous place, but with the help of your great, you might manage to make it out alive! You have four characters to choose from: Dr Jazz Phantom a brilliant psychologist. Danny Phantom, astromancy expert. Dante Phantom the ghost engineer and Elle Phantom, the teen explorer and ghost expert!)

None of the Waynes had played the game before, but they turned it and everything seemed normal. Duke played as Danny, Dick am played as Elle, Steph played as Jazz, and Tim played as Dante.

None of them could make it past level 5 without dying, so they handed the controllers over to Cass, Damian, Jason and Barbara.

But the moment Damian (17) and Jason (27) (changing the ages here) touched the controllers to pick their characters, they vanished.

There were two new characters on the screen, along with two frozen avatars.

Jason Todd: gun expert and literature nerd.

Damian Al Ghul: swordsman and animal whisperer

(Damian and Jason are the most liminal, and this is the OG copy of the game and it mistook them as ghost and sucked them in.)

Jason and Damian had been sucked into a video game.

Now, they have to survive the ghost zone until the Bats can get them out. They also learned that the 4 ‘characters’ are actually real people.

They were ghosts, ghosts were real. And they got sucked into a video game. For an odd reason, they had their swords and guns.

The bats are freaking out. They watched two of their members get sucked into a video can that was known for being impossible to beat.

Like I mentioned, this was the OG copy, so the characters (I’m gonna start calling the video game characters ‘characters’ and the players ‘players’) have some control over what they can ‘say’.

They can change the character dialogue to give clues and hints.

But when it comes to actual gameplay, they are mostly at the mercy of the controller, with a few exceptions.

But considering none of the hero’s exactly have enough time to learn the game and master it in a short amount of time, (except Tim (he watched Bernard played extensively) they are forced to call the worlds best players.

Tucker Foley, Samantha Manson, Valerie Grey and and Wes Weston immediately knew that the characters in the video game were their classmates. It was obvious once you saw the signs. And Technus came to them the moment he realized he messed up.

Considering they all live in Amity, the ecto in the air is bringing out the OG programming, so snippets of the characters actual conversation pop up on screen for a moment before glitching back to its programmed sentences.

Unfortunately, Sam and Wes didn’t have the video game experience that Tucker did, so it was up to him to try to beat the game, hoping it would bring his fiends back. He mastered the game up to level 20 out of 25, but never made it past that point.

Suddenly he was asked to come to the Hall of Justice to play video games for The Justice Leauge.

Valerie and Sam came with him, and they realized why they were asked to come.

This was the copy that Dan, Dani, Dan and Jazz got sucked in.

Shenanigan ideas

-characters drops codes and hints about ghosts and the GIW in the character dialogue

- Tucker logs in with his name and the Bats deciphered a code that translated to ‘Tckrs playng!!!’

-since Dani is the ghost expert in the game, she’s very overcoming by stress and lashes out at Damian, who ends up not liking her (he actually loves people who could bend him in half, it’s a Wayne Family Trait) (totally serious chaos) (reluctant partners to lovers)

-SPECIAL POWERS

• Dan can collect scrap junk and create weapons out of them. The long he collects, the more dangerous the weapon

• Jazz can stun the ghost with a few words in ghost speak, but will need ecto-dejecto to heal her damaged vocal cords (and because she’s liminal and not a halfa)

• Danny can summon a previously defeated ghost if he’s at full power, but when he does he’s then extremely weakened. He also has a spell books of smaller spells that he can use when the stars align

• Dani can talk to the ghost in their native language when they were alive and clam them down temporarily. She can also read maps of the GZ easier than the others.

•Jason can speak ghost speak easier, and is the only one that can read it casual. Can also wield any type of gun

•Damian can speak to the ghost animals and get their help on special occasions, but will need an ecto-dejecto boost after

- the ghosts they have to fight are imitations of the the rouge gallery

- Sam and Wes creating a true crime podcast. Which gains views, and they talk about the missing Fentons. It gains traction online and people realize that the characters in the game look alike, have the same hobbies and interest, and the same names. The GIW is suddenly under scrutiny

Fashion Dreamer Tips & Tricks

Some stuff only I found that isn't mentioned or in-game at all or is easily missed as far as I'm aware? I hope it helps some of you guys out :) It is quite image-heavy under the cut, fair warning!!

Colour Matching (Item Creator) Pressing down on the left stick changes the display from mannequin to the item itself, but pressing it again will show whatever item you're creating along with whatever your muse is currently wearing.

So if you've gotten a custom coloured item from someone else, this is great for making items and accessories to match with it! And you don't have to waste 120k points trying to match colours by guesstimation instead like me :'))) Or maybe I'm just dumb because I knew how to zoom in and out, just not the display switching OTL

2. Showroom Configuration (is stupid) This is for the Happy Home Paradise players... Make sure that any mannequins or clothing you display in your showroom is actually accessible, because you cannot walk under ceiling decorations, even if they are lighting. I have no idea why. You also can't change the camera angle, so it'd be best not to put the door/panel decorations all in a row at the front, because then players can't see what you're even displaying (unless it's just like a mannequin in the middle surrounded by lockers... Idk)

Taking the time to plug my showroom again before I swap out the outfits for the fancier stuff I have >o< Find me at a8xv4JW3Am!

3. Muse Advisors There are at least 2 or 3 advisors who are present at the Muse Mirror in each Cocoon in rotation. (e.g. Noz and Iris in HOPE) They can not only suggest colours and unique makeup that you haven't obtained yet* (I've seen a look where your character gets like a Batman/Robin mask lol), but also give you their own! If the one whose look you want isn't there, you just have to quick-travel (press down on the right stick) to another Cocoon and back. Otherwise, you can just keep talking to them and backing out until their option shows up.

4. NPCs I've just learnt that the NPCs you start with are most likely random. I've seen others start with NPCs I haven't even seen or heard of! You need to raise their friendship level until you get a special event that says 'Friend Introduction' - and even then, I think the NPC who appears next might be random (unconfirmed). This may make it quite a pain for those who want the unnatural skin colours, since I believe they are only unlockable via NPC friendship rank... So just go into solo mode and spam some outfits :')

5. Camera Angles and Idle Poses This one is a bit useless, but I didn't know about it until now so it's going in. Most of the time, I use the drone camera to take photos, but could never really fit fullbody photos - turns out, you need to angle the camera slightly downwards (have your character looking up) to be able to zoom out enough to fit your Muse's whole body in. If the camera angle is level with your Muse, you will never be able to get a fullbody picture. Who thought this would be a good idea???

Additionally, waiting for a while will let your character have the time to perform some idle animations, some of which (I think) are not present in the poses option, even via NPC friendship rank. The downside is that you'll have to crop out some parts of the UI and the quality will be a little lower - however, that can be fixed using waifu2x (which I tend to use anyways for aesthetic posts lol).

Soap enjoyed how your hands would massage his hair. It was something you had mentioned, when he applied black war paint on his hair and you gasped. "If you want hair masks just ask Johnny! don't gotta kill me with this!" you exclaimed on the field.

They all had robes on, you even ordered those foot massager machines for them. And when you were done with their masks, you would lay on the floor with pillows around. You read, and sprayed the room with different aromas. Sometimes when you felt hippie enough you would walk around with incense.

again i dont actually know. hiasobi is pretty dense on them though, same with kimagure mercy and some of the high level master charts. tbh the most flicks is probably intense voice full ver but only bc that's 5 minutes long, and even then the amount of flicks don't make up much of the 4500 total notes so it's not the densest in terms of flick notes.

53. 10/03/2024 night, Happy Bday Shu Rongbo and Wu Yihan!! Hehe the way Qian Anqi knocks their heads together and insisted to sing them happy birthday is so cute. Wu Yihan said 'Happy Birthday' before their customary Guiding Light hug. And pls someone translate (or at least transcribed) the closing speech for me, there's a lot of laughing involved, I'm curious. Also, have this bonus stage door clip.

Some funfacts. Since last year they play in the same 4 musicals including Link Click and out of those 4 plays they shared 2 roles. Shu Rongbo played a total of 9 roles while Wu Yihan played 7. (Yes, I am at that level of hyperfixation)

i'm somewhat prepared for my 20s

here's what i learned:

- You gotta save yourself; no one's gonna do it for you. Everyone has their own life, so take charge of yours!

- Starting over? You can do that whenever you want—it's unlimited! And remember, your body can tell you when a relationship isn’t giving you what you need and deserve.

- Stay away from people who are too scared to live life. And those who make fun of or insult you as a "joke"? Yeah, it's never really a joke. Surround yourself with people who genuinely care about your well-being and support you.

- People that don't have goals aren't for people who do.

- Are you your second option? No. So why would you be anyone else’s?

- Being single is a blessing, but if you do get into/are in a relationship make sure you have hobbies or hyper-fixation onto said person will most likely happen if it hasn't happened yet.

- Retinol at 25 is a must—it promotes collagen production and helps prevent fine lines and early signs of aging. And don’t forget sunscreen! Skin cancer is real—ask Hugh Jackman.

- Setting limits and boundaries is key to protect yourself in any relationship. Avoid oversharing, too! Think about the level of intimacy and trust with the person. If they seem disinterested or uncomfortable, that’s your cue to change the subject. Be clear about what topics you’re willing to discuss, and practice saying no when it comes to personal matters. Past experiences of oversharing can serve as good reminders to guard your privacy.

- Take care of your appearance. dress right, eat right, accessorize, etc.

- Get comfortable saying "no" without feeling guilty. Taking care of yourself should never feel like a chore; if it does, something's off.

- Never chase a man; that's just a waste of energy.

- Get your driver’s license and buy/start saving for a car like, now!

- Law of detachment. cultivating inner peace, focus on the present & and trusting yourself.

- Taking care of & bettering yourself should never feel like a chore

- Meditate—clearer mind means better decisions. Socialize and network; just get out of the house sometimes. But don’t be everywhere all the time. Your feelings matter, and only you know what you’ve been through.

- People come and go, and I like to see it as the universe teaching me lessons about the type of people I want in my life.

- Be particular with whom you share let into your space.

- Pleasing people will get you nowhere.

- Try new things, build new skills. sign up for freakin skillshare if you have to girl just DO SOMETHING.

- Sometimes you just gotta say "my future husband/wife/spouse would never" and move on.

- Vision boards. keep that future 'range rover pilates mom who works only when she wats to bc she and her spouse are STACKED' ver of yourself in your mind esp when you make life changing decisions.

- As the person living your life, you're the main character which means you should become someone that YOU love and stay true to them. you gotta be able to challenge yourself and then have faith that you can overcome and win always. you're probably still gonna care what people think, but your opinion of yourself should always matter the most. i don't wanna keep living by what i think someone is gonna think of me and then in 5-10 years im a bum who hasn't done shit for her self because she chose to live in fear yk.

- Perspective matters. always be the 'glass half-full' type of person. never focus on lack, celebrate whatever abundance you and practice gratitude. it helps so much in terms of focusing on and thus manifesting positivity in your life.

- Start taking care of your health now, your older self is gonna thank you.

- Knowledge is indeed power. stay curious, ask questions, do that research, read those books, watch those video essays.

- Take the time to get to know yourself—go out, stay in, try new things, and find out what you like and dislike. Avoid comparing yourself to others; you’re on your own separate journey.

- Financial literacy is essential. Learn to save, budget, and invest now; 30 year old you will be thanking you, once again miss range rover pilates mom.

- Not everyone is going to like you, and that's totally okay.

- Invest in your mental health; it’ll help you cope, make better decisions, and maintain healthy relationships while reducing burnout.

- It’s okay to be lazy sometimes! Everyone burns out, and that doesn’t make you less than anyone. Take your time and focus on yourself. Do things that bring you joy.

- Embrace mistakes; they’re essential for growth and give you more experience to handle adversity with confidence. Remember, everyone makes mistakes, so you’re never alone in that.

- You just got here! Calm down, breathe, chill, and relax. It’s okay not to have everything figured out right now. You’re going to find what’s meant for you—just enjoy the journey and have faith that everything will work out, no matter how hard things seem.

What if someday we wake up to find that Noel is involved in a scandal on the level of Dave Grohl's? he’s not married anymore and is smarter and , but I still think about it.

Desde que eu vim ao Tumblr depois do fechamento do Twitter no Brasil, chegou a mim alguns boatos sobre Noel ter sido infiel em seus relacionamentos! (aliás, melhor decisão de todas vir pro tumblr, amo esse lugar!)

Um desses boatos foi um dos meus primeiros posts aqui, de um podcast brasileiro chamado Barbacast. Nesse podcast, um homem afirma ter fotos e vídeos do Noel beijando uma prostituta no Rio de Janeiro em 2012, menos de um ano depois de Noel ter se casado com a Sara! No Tiktok desse podcast, ele reafirmou a história para todos os que duvidam, e uma moça nos comentários também confirmou a história dele. Esses dias, depois de muitos duvidarem de sua história, o Barbacast finalmente postou uma das fotos de Noel beijando outra mulher! (clique aqui para ver o vídeo direto da página dele no Tiktok, ou veja a minha publicação anterior!).

No Instagram, vi um comentário de um outro homem que disse ter trabalhado com o stage manager do NGHFB no Brasil, e ele disse que sabe de histórias mais "pesadas" do Noel do que essa história com a prostituta! Mas ele não contou quais são essas histórias...

Também vi relatos e tive conversas com fãs que endossam esses boatos, não apenas no Brasil mas em outros países... Porque nunca soubemos disso antes ou porque essas histórias nunca vieram a público? Pelo que notei, há um padrão: Noel supostamente se envolve com groupies da América Latina, Ásia e Europa (fora do Reino Unido). Noel supostamente teve o cuidado e a esperteza de não se envolver com groupies do Reino Unido e dos Estado Unidos e de países falantes da língua inglesa! Esses supostos casos não vieram a público provavelmente: 1-por não serem de países falantes de língua inglesa, 2-o acesso a essas mulheres é mais difícil, 3-suas histórias são mais descredibilizadas, 4-elas tem medo de sofrerem um processo jurídico internacional pelo Noel, 5-além de toda a exposição na mídia internacional, 6-e também tem muitos fãs que querem guardar essas histórias pra si... Não me surpreende que a maior parte do fandom aqui do Tumblr que defende as teorias do Noel ser bi/gay e o gcest sejam de fãs do Reino Unido e dos Estados Unidos, eles não tem muitas histórias próprias sobre isso e não pesquisam nos fandoms de outros países!

Mas como disse, a maioria são BOATOS, alguns surgidos muito recentemente e ainda muito pouco fundamentados... o tempo vai dizer se e quais são verdadeiros ou falsos!

Mas ainda que sejam todos boatos falsos, eu não botaria minha mão no fogo pela honra de Noel Gallagher! Noel é uma celebridade mundialmente conhecida, é milionário, e é um homem criado em uma família tradicional conservadora e muito machista do norte da Inglaterra, e por mais que esse lado machista do Noel tenha diminuído na última década, ele ainda tem alguns traços de misoginia... o que quero dizer é que Noel tem as condições e conexões necessárias para ter casos extraconjugais em segredo e, como uma amiga me lembrou, há homens que não consideram sexo casual uma traição justamente por conta de suas criações machistas que os fizeram acreditar que, por serem homens, tem mais direitos e liberdades que suas mulheres, isso piora se esse homem for rico e influente! Infelizmente é um fato que a maioria dos homens são assim. Mas se Noel também é esse tipo de homem, isso é algo que não posso afirmar, mas também não posso descartar!

Como falei no começo, eu abri meu perfil aqui depois que o Twitter fechou no Brasil. Há 4 anos eu estava com o perfil Nonô Galego no Twitter, e nesse tempo nunca vi boatos do Noel ser infiel. Ou melhor, desde que virei fã do Oasis em 2006 eu não soube de histórias de infidelidade! Tudo que eu soube foi o envolvimento dele com poucas groupies em 1994 quando estava solteiro, e a história do bordel brasileiro eu soube em 2021, mas a versão que conhecia era de que ele estava bebendo com parte do staff lá, e foi educado com as prostitutas, mas não tinha tocado em nenhuma! Até essa informação do beijo eu só soube agora, quando migrei para o Tumblr 😅

Voltando para a sua pergunta anon, sobre o que fariamos se um dia vier a público um escândalo do Noel que nem foi com o Dave Grohl? Vou te contar o que eu fiz desde quando eu soube desses boatos sobre o Noel nessas últimas duas semanas: eu comprei a edição deluxe do Council Skies e comprei uma blusa do Oasis com a cara do Noel e do Liam estampada nela! Eu fiquei bem surpresa sim, talvez um pouco desapontada, mas definitivamente nada mudou sobre meu amor pelo Noel e pelo Oasis! Sabe porquê? Eles são apenas músicos pra mim no fim das contas...

Por mais que eu saiba certas histórias do Noel que a maioria das pessoas não sabe, o Noel nunca vai saber nada sobre mim, nem meu nome ou minha aparência, pois ele não é nada meu e a chance de eu me tornar alguém importante pra ele é a mesma chance que eu tenho de entrar em um ônibus espacial e ir até a lua!

Na melhor das hipóteses, no mais favorável dos cenários e no mais provável dos universos concebíveis, o máximo do máximo que eu conseguiria ter com Noel seria menos de uma hora a sós com ele bêbado no ônibus da turnê, o que me tornaria em mais um boato de um fandom local do Oasis e uma história pra ele contar por poucos dias para os amigos mais próximos até que sua memória me embaralhe com tantas outras histórias...

Ele não é meu e nem será, e nem me prometeu fidelidade, então porque deveria me importar com suas supostas infidelidades? Isso vale para todos os artistas! A única coisa que artista nos dão (dar não, vendem!) são sua arte, e por mais que suas artes sejam incríveis e até nos salvem em momentos ruins de nossas vidas, é somente isso que eles podem oferecer.

As únicas pessoas que poderiam se indignar com essas supostas infidelidades de artistas são suas esposas, no máximo seus filhos e família! Nós fãs não podemos e nem devemos fazer nada, mesmo que suas atitudes possam nos decepcionar, esse não é o combinado entre fãs e artistas! Suas vidas não nos pertencem e temos que aceitar isso, se quisermos continuar a consumir a sua arte!

Nós estamos aqui fofocando sobre suas vidas, mas é o máximo que podemos fazer, e só fazemos porque somos curiosos mesmo 😅 mas não condeno isso, acho bom sabermos exatamente quem são as pessoas de quem somos fãs... apesar desses boatos, Noel ainda me parece ser uma boa pessoa (além de ainda ser um músico incrível), a balança ainda pesa favorável pra ele, então continuarei aqui por ele!

Não podemos esquecer que não temos controle sobre as vidas dos artistas, e nem influência. Noel já demonstrou muitas vezes que não se importa com a opinião dos outros, muito menos na internet. Então porque devemos nos desgastar por uma hipotética (ou mesmo real) traição de uma celebridade?

Se um dia forem publicadas histórias de infidelidade sobe Noel, mesmo que se tenha polêmica, com o tempo será esquecido. Jay-Z traiu Beyoncé, e hoje ninguém mais fala disso. Piqué traiu a Shakira, e isso já foi superado pela mídia. Dave Grohl traiu a esposa e teve uma filha fora do casamento, isso também será superado em poucas semanas, até porque aconteceu a mesma coisa com o Liam DUAS VEZES, lembra? E o Liam ainda fez pior: Traiu a Patsy com uma semana de casados, ofereceu dinheiro pra Lisa Moorish abortar, mentiu pra Patsy sobre ser o pai da Molly e só admitiu depois que a Lisa o processou por pensão alimentícia, ficou 18 anos sem contato com a Molly... e em 2013 ele deixou sair na imprensa primeiro sobre a filha fora do casamento, Nicole só soube horas antes das primeiras publicações dos tabloides, apareceu com a Debbie no mesmo dia que estourou essa história, travou uma batalha pública nos tribunais com a Liza Ghorbani e ele nunca conheceu a Gemma... você vê o Liam sendo cancelado atualmente por esses fatos? Acho que não 🤷

Se acordarmos amanhã e descobrimos que Noel acabou de ter uma filha, não vai dar em nada, ele já está oficialmente separado desde janeiro de 2023. E se descobrimos de forma oficial e não por boatos que ele foi infiel à Meg e a Sara, também não vai dar em nada, pois esses casamentos já acabaram e Noel pode usufruir da licença poética de ser um rockstar e ser um homem... As pessoas vão falar, mas vão esquecer... e vida que segue. O que sempre fica (e importa) é a música.

O próprio Noel disse para nós não colocarmos nossas vidas nas mãos de uma banda de rock and roll... acho um bom conselho.

7. New chemical process separates textile fibers for easier recycling

“A combined team of chemical and biomolecular engineers [... have] developed a way to chemically separate fibers in textiles, allowing them to be recycled more quickly and cheaply than conventional methods. BUT!! Imagine Skulls(HND MC) interactions with Wine(MAM) and Black(MAM) imagine those 3 and then HND!Wine and HND!Black watching skulls interact with those vers and be jelly??

Ok ok ok ok so Skulls would be an absolute delight to Wine and Black from MAM. She would flirt with that Wine and be nothing but nice to Black which HND Black gets pissy about and Wine also gets annoyed. Like why is she being nice to them? It's because she doesn't work with them and MAM Wine doesn't try to buy her affection and MAM Black is polite to her. HND would be so jealous you could feel it radiating from them.

Skulls would also feel so bad for using Bear and Sparrows wrong name like one time and then panicking that they hate her so apologises like a million times. Like I've been thinking since it would be hard to write like a hundred skeletons between two authors instead the MC's just swap temporarily. like something with the machine or Error's mirrors and they switch. That way I can be like Mage! I want these things to happen if possible and they tell me what they want Lissa to get up to and we write from the skeletons POV's and then at the end everyone joins up to switch MC's back but like these guidelines would be simple for example one I would love is:

-Skulls hits her head when they switch and sees Sparrow first but weakly calls out Crooks name before blacking out.

That way when she wakes up she can feel super guilty and apologise but also ask like a million questions to see if Sparrow's experience would help Crooks.

and then me and Mage can be in contact like I can be like "How would Lissa react to Nightmare using his tentacles to like move her physically out of the way?" or something that I'm writing or we just write then double check at the end and be like Actually I think Skulls would do this here or that there instead.

OH OH!! we could also have like different levels with request to make the other authors job easier. Like things that I absolutely want to happen, things I think would be cool but aren't necessary and things I'd love to see but might not make sense so doesn't need to happen.

Skulls would have a difficult time adjusting to some skeletons too from MAM like Blue is just different and she feels awkward around Coffee and Wolf because they don't act the same way that her versions do so she feels like she's making an idiot of herself in front of these skeletons she kind of love but also have never met.

Skulls would still gravitate towards Red though as he makes her feel comfortable and she would flirt and just relax around him. I'd love to have like a serious moment with this other version of Red where she serious asks him how would he like someone to ask him out.

Anyway thanks @absurdmageart for the brain rot. Sorry about the rambling here.... I've been thinking about this a completely normal amount I swear . . . :D

China's censorship of Justice in the Dark - some FAQ

Also known as The Abyss/Mo Du/Silent Reading (link goes to a great carrd made by a Mo Du fan) by Priest, the same author who brought us Guardian. The show was dropped on Youku China on the 18th of February and is now on Youku International (VIP needed from ep 3 onwards). 8 episodes have been released. There is no official release schedule yet, though the rumour is 5 episodes every Saturday at 10am China time. Total of 30 episodes, ending on the 11th of March (Yes rumours are this specific).

The English subs are AI generated, and they are not great. I hope they improve the subs as the show gains traction. (I watch on the China ver of the app, but I'll post any egregarious subbing errors if I come across them)

Changes made from the novel

The title, character names and premise has been changed. The ages of the some of the side characters/victims have also been changed. It's clear that scenes have been re-edited and re-dubbed, because some dialogue doesn't match the lip movements (WOH flashbacks anyone?) This is all to get pass censorship. A lot of the story, including the dialogue, has been preserved, and the changes aren't jarring.

Seems like there was a lot of uproar regarding the changes?

The show has been trending on weibo every day since it dropped, for good and bad reasons. Many book fans were upset with the changes on Day 1 and didn't bother watching pass the introduction of the premise, and there were complaints about the suitability of the actors' looks. By Day 2 the comments turned to "hey this isn't so bad??" And now everyone is just badgering youku for the next few episodes, cause they've literally released nothing else about the show since they dropped the episodes.

Has the story been sacrificed to pass censorship?

After watching 8 ep, I don't believe so. The novel covers sociopathy and the darkness of humanity - the show uses a "nuclear accident" as a reason for "genetic changes" in 1.3% of the population - causing these people to lose the ability to empathise with others. This is actually a very smart move because by blaming everything on a fictional, genetic mutation, the show can actually get away with showing the darker, more questionable parts of humanity, without having to censor it too much. The first case of the show mentions drugs and even has a short clip that heavily implies someone seizing from an overdose (you'll miss it if you aren't paying attention). There are underaged victims, and if they continue in this vein there will be more trigger warning worthy scenes from the book included. These things just don't get shown or talked about in c dramas - even if we don't talk about the BL, it's pretty crazy they managed to get this stuff out after the recent censorship changes.

Is the BL still.... there?

There are 8 episodes out so far and to me, it's working. We're not talking WOH level of chemistry here, but ep 3 onwards is when our CP starts paying more attention to each other. There is more than enough "candy" to find if you know what you're looking for. That said, it is not and will never be BL, just an adaptation.

Ok what am I looking for?

Glad you asked! Take for example the show's name change - from 深渊 (shen yuan) to 光•渊 (guang • yuan).

深 - deep 渊 - deep (often referring to a pool, so a deep dark pool, like in a cave) Shen Yuan comes from the novel and is translated as The Abyss, and represents Fei Du (Pei Su in the show)

光 - bright light Guang•Yuan is not a proper term by itself - it's a mash up of the words for bright light and deep pool. The light represents Luo Wenzhou (Luo Weizhao in the show), the one beam of light that penetrates Fei Du's darkness. Hence the English name "Justice in the Dark" is a pretty good translation.

The new names of the characters are Pei Su 裴溯 and Luo Weizhao 骆为昭. See the last character of each name? Su has the radical 月, for Moon in it, and Zhao has the radical 日, for Sun in it. The moon is considered Yin, and the sun is Yang. Together, they are Yin and Yang.
