Anyone else up thinking about Ratio's big, strong, secure arms and how warm and all-consuming they could be in a hug or embrace. :/ Anyway

I just wanted to draw them being cute and seizing a sliver of a moment where they could have some PDA silly time without actually having any eyes on them. They're public figures and working adults with very clear boundaries between public persona and private life (to varying degrees of "in a sad way"), so while it may be in Aventurine's nature to constantly blur lines for various agendas and self-preservation (read: play "the flirt" without an aligned goal), I believe that in an actual relationship they'd be fairly private.

It's kind of fun to break your own rules, though! Ratio would be more upset about the consequences, though. He's a little bit of a hypocrite, which is devastating for someone of such discipline, but nobody's perfect.

I'm of the mentality of, "If you're tired of working on it, then just post it!", so here are some fun peripherals that I didn't feel like adding:

Some staff in the background sweeping up to evoke a blended sense of fragile privacy and liminal time.

A laptop on the aquarium/bar/counter because there's something fascinating about seeing people on their work laptops in public.

having a stressful time at work but i think it's very important to point out the other day i was asking a guy for help and he's like aight gotcha and then we go to this freezer room and he, from somewhere beyond a mound of boxes, just goes "you like anime right?"

sir this is the FIRST TIME we have spoken how did you clock that.

(he claims i had the vibes of someone who liked it then i was like oh like the woman in the deli wearing a jujutsu- and before i can finish the series name he says "no not her, she just liked the shirt. she's never watched anime". . . oh. i see. you have already had this debate with her then. okay.)

So I got clocked AGAIN as a weeb by a coworker because I saw part of her outfit and was like "oh, Attack on Titan?" and while I then said I've never watched it she said that's fair then "do you know anything about vtubers?" and I just. Are you kidding me. I mean yeah but like. Why is your safe question with me "do you know about vtubers".

There is no unselfish reason to stay. Gu Yiran was never going to belong here in Halan; he’d only been kidding himself all this time that things were changing.  Zheng Bei is still standing there, silent, three steps in past the door. His head and shoulders silhouetted by the square yellow light of the front windows. Gu Yiran looks past him, out through the windows at the empty air above the apartment courtyard and says, “Yes, I think I’ll only stay until the case closes,” and feels the unfamiliarity of the word until in his mouth. He hasn’t been able to see an ending coming for years.

anyway, i've decided i really want to lean into the imminent tension of the case closing and gyr potentially leaving since in canon we glossed over this completely via gu yiran's phone call skills. also, i have become obsessed with zheng bei's yellow front windows apparently, this is the second, maybe third bit i've written this week that involves those yellow windows.

The next part of Stranger and Supervillain’s brand are in the works!!!! [so expect them in the next week or two]

Also, Heroic betrayal and Defiant Leader x confident Villain are halfway through their next chapters. {expect within the week}

Vendetta is basically written in my head I just need it written down first ((if my brain would stop starting new projects that would be wonderful, but here we are🙃))
