ONE MISSING POINT

-ˋˏ| summary: Failing the class just for one point, and you ask Michael Gavey his help to pass the exam. Tutoring isn't his strenght, neither is yours.

It was practically a tradition that Mr. Bynes posted the results of the class in the (most important) headboard in the whole university, and people practically crowded around the single paper sheet searching for their grades and to see if they were at risk of failing the course entirely. If so, they had to do the mandatory exam which was by no means friendly.
He isn’t as worried as people around him, trying to make his way in the crowd to see the paper. He had to awkwardly pass through some people crying over it before he could see the paper.
He approved it all. He expected it, of course, since he always participated and was one of the few who understood something the professor said. Sure, he didn’t have straight 100%, but nothing lower than 80%, which was really good upon seeing some people had more than one 0.
It was a relief, but again, expected. He shrugs and goes on with his life as he walks away, thinking of going to his dorm and annotating his grades to later on calculate his final average score.
“Michael! Michael Gavey” a voice calls him, as he sets his feet on the grass. He turns around, seeing you walking closer to him, as quickly as you could.
“Ehm… yes” he says, awkwardly, looking at you.
You shared calculus and some other classes, and you were good. Not bright, exceptional or anything, but good. And you were so much better at other things, more social and bold things he doesn’t dare to do.
“Hi… how did you do?” You ask, slightly out of breath as you try to be polite.
“Ehm… fine, I guess” he doesn’t get why you talk to him now.
“You passed?” You ask tentatively. “I… I saw your grades, and it was awesome, really impressive…” You hesitate before adding “I am sorry, I know… it’s weird, but… You were like one of the few people who actually passed.”
Michael shrugs. as he nods. “I guess so.”
“And you see…” You say taking his arm to interlock it with hers, as you and your friends did when walking together. It was so womanly, he felt weird. Or maybe everyone did it and he didn’t know…? “I had good grades, I did well in that essay that everyone hated… But I had one test in which I got 40%, because I transferred badly one of the gross numbers, and before you ask, I did calculate it… But since I transferred it wrong, the final value was wrong”
“Ah…” he says, not sure what to say “That sucks”
It didn’t suck. To him, it was like a stupid mistake easily avoidable.
“Well, I was one point away from pass the course, and I explained this to the professor but… didn’t listen, you know him, he said that one point is missing, so I have to give the exam, and I need like 20%, but still..., and now I desperately come to you to beg you to please help me and tutor me” she says, as she turns to look at him.
He blinks. He didn’t do tutorings on his free time. He did them for extra money, for credits or whatever reason.
“Please Mikey!” You say, grabbing his hands. “Please please please, I only needed one more point to pass the class, I know about the subject, and it was a silly mistake. You don't even have to teach me from zero, only... go over the things we studied and that... please!”
He isn’t willing to do this. He doesn’t want to do this, yet he is weak. After all, he is a man. And he isn’t blind, you are pretty. Like out-of-his-league pretty. And you are prettier closer.
“Fine…”
You lean to kiss his cheek with a smile, and you nod. “It’s a date then. Tomorrow in the library? Could it be at four?”
He blinks a few times, trying to process the whole thing. He was supposed to finish the semester quickly, and… now he is caught up trying to teach you so you don’t fail a course, all because his mind betrays him.
So, he tries to do the whole ordeal as smoothly and quickly as possible. He doesn’t want to do this but whatever. At least you are not dumb on the matter, you know something. He has heard some of the answers you give in the classes, and they weren’t as bad as one would hope.
He’s sitting at one of the study desks, right beside a large shelf, and the library was with a few other students, concentrated in their own thing. He brought his notes with him, even if it was illegible. He tries not to be impatient, as he checks the clock on his wrist.
“Sorry for being late, I– I got caught in something and…” You say, and you were breathing a bit heavily.
“No big deal…” he stutters, as his gaze darts down to your blouse. Logically, since summer was getting closer and closer, you wouldn’t be wearing a sweater, but he didn’t expect… Well, he didn’t know what he expected.
Why was he being so weak around you?
“Sit, I have my notes to show you…” He says, and so you take a seat by his side as you curiously lean to check his notes. Surprisingly, or not so surprisingly, he was very neat in his handwriting, even if they looked like the handwriting of someone in the 1700s.
You are not such a bad learner, and he was rather enjoying teaching you after some time. You actually heard him, as he explained in depth how to have the correct answer for all, as he tries to address everything.  You asked good questions, and pointed at the mistakes he had given you, to see if you could identify them in an exercise.
As close as you were, Michael could smell how your perfume was nice. It smelled sweet, but not so much that he would like to throw up. Besides, everytime you stared at him, he could feel a bit uneasy, since he got a bit nervous. Your gaze was deep, and he didn’t know what it meant.
Clearing his throat, he writes a new problem for you to solve. He had done a lot when studying, so he copied one of his. He hopes that focusing on the study will help him to distract himself from the weird feelings around you.
“Here, try this one” he says, handing the notebook to you. It is complex, but doable.
He manages to explain really well, as he gets into the theme and all. You do the work, and slide it over for him to check it.
“You have a girlfriend, Mikey?” You ask softly.
He looks at you, before turning back to check the answer. “Eh… no” he mutters, trying not to be ashamed.
You were actually great, you are very tidy when unfolding the exercise and actually took in his advice, he can see it. Yet, you make the same mistake, you took the gross value as the final one.
He made a circle, and he was ready to explain.
“He-Oh” he gasps, feeling your hand on his thigh. He was frozen.
Maybe it fell onto it. Maybe it was by mistake, it was surely by mistake, there was no way it was intentional. And surely it was a mistake how you caressed his inner thigh so… slowly.
“Oh, did I get it wrong?” You ask, looking at him as if you didn’t have your hand at his thigh.
He felt his head doing a short circuit, as if trying to understand what this meant. Was he imagining things? He surely must be.
“Y-Yes, here… here you took the gross value…” he mutters pathetically, he was confused, he didn’t know what was happening. He wasn’t complaining, at all, but what does that mean?
What did it mean that you had your hand on his thigh? Surely, it was something… reasonable.
“I’ll re-do it” you say, taking the notebook. And you didn’t take your hand away.
He was frozen. This can't be happening. He's supposed to be helping you with your studies, not... not whatever this is. And yet, his body is betraying him, his skin tingling under your touch, his pants beginning to feel uncomfortably tight.
He grips on the edge of the table, looking at the ceiling of the library. Suddenly, he is very aware of his surroundings, looking around as if everyone knew that your hand was sliding up as you did the exercise. Women surely can multitask…
“Eh, well, now… we can use the formula… you-you know it” he says, his throat feeling dry as he tries not to whimper.
“Yeah, yeah. Like the rosary.” You say with a confident nod.
“Yeah… so, what’s the next step?” He prompts you, as your hand is higher and higher, and he is starting to lose his mind.
“Replace the values, a… with this, and b…” your hand brushes higher and he lets out a little whimper, thinking you were about to stroke his cock… yet it doesn’t happen. It’s a pathetic sound he emits, and he gets red after it. “With this…”
He sees you replace the values, rewriting the formula, ready to be used.
“Right?” You ask, with one of your sweet smiles as if you didn’t know what was happening.
“Eh, yeah… yeah, that…” he says, trying not to sound that pleased, even if he starts to feel the arousal pool on his stomach.
He starts to feel himself straining against his pants. It was painfully arousing, and he tried to play it cool. He didn’t want for you to notice, as you caressed his inner thigh.
“I… I need a break” he says suddenly, looking at you.
You look at him a bit pouty even, as he grips on the edge of the seat trying to breathe in and breathe out. “But I am learning” you say to him “I really am”
You were driving him insane. He didn’t even know if he should address the elephant in the room. Maybe he’ll say something about it, and you’ll stop, be disgusted and leave.
But he tries to keep inside his whimpers, since the library was the worst place ever to do this. Everyone quiet and it’s open for anyone to see.
“I think… I..” He hesitates, falling to being able to finish a sentence. He moans softly, feeling your hand brush against his notorious erection, and he can’t bear it anymore. “Ah, please…”
Michael was blushing, embarrassed of it all as he tries not to move his hips to follow the touch of your hand, since it isn’t where he really needs. How could he be so weak? His cock wasn’t even being touched now, but he felt so dizzy already. Maybe it was because, okay, he had never been with anyone else, but it was… embarrassingly little time to be so… needy.
When he feels your hand on the tent of his pants, he whimpers, the sound too loud and filthy that his left hand goes instantly to his mouth, covering it to mute himself before he does another embarrassing thing that gives them away.
“Y-You.. You have to stop” Michael murmurs, the words muffled against his palm as he looks at you, glasses sliding through his nose slightly. He was so flustered, he looked cute.
“Why?” You ask in a pout, not wanting to.
“I can’t– I need…” He tries to say, to make a coherent thought as your hand moves to follow the shape of his erection. It sends shivers on his spine and he practically melts on the seat as his eyes are rolled back in pleasure. How could it feel so good? “I… I… We can’t…”
He seems so confused with his own thoughts. “We can…” You murmur, looking around as nobody was actually watching them. “If you really want me to stop… I’ll stop”
Michael doesn’t want you to stop. He really didn’t. But he didn’t want to get caught, it would be embarrassing.
“We are in public” he says, his eyes searching yours.
“Yes, I know” you say, not stopping the strokes on his cock above his clothes “But look at how much you like it”
He’s already made a small, wet patch at the front of his pants. Oh, god, he thinks. He looked away, it felt embarrassing, his face feeling hotter as embarrassment creeped into his gut alongside pleasure.
He liked it, but he was trembling with a mixture of emotions, and he didn’t know what to think. He was so close too…
“Please…” He begs senselessly, he doesn’t even know why he is begging. “I don’t wanna make a mess…”
Your hand touches him with the clothes in between, but the fabric of his light brown pants was thin, and it felt almost delicious. He would hump your hand if you two weren’t in a library.
“You are making a mess…” You coax him softly, as he tenses his shoulder and falls slightly against yours, as his body was trembling with arousal.
“I don’t wanna stain my pants” He murmurs embarrassed, in a little voice as he feels his balls tighten up as your hand insists on the head of his cock, stroking it through the fabric.
“It’s hot” you murmur back to him, and your hand is on the wet patch “And when you cum, I’ll feel it here”
He can’t form a proper sentence as he feels you hand caressing his dick, he felt the wetness on the tip of his cock, and even if it was so unlike him, he found himself so aroused. He is on the verge of cumming on his pants, just from the touch of a woman. Damn, you aren’t even touching his cock directly.
He felt like a teen, needy and so hormonal. He wasn’t like this fromages ago, and he finds himself leaning on you, his forehead against your shoulder as he whimpers softly, his hips searching your touch as he is close.
The thought of cumming in his pants, making a mess was both humiliating and arousing, as his body tense with each stroke. “I can't… i… I'm going to…”
His hand goes to cover his own mouth as he reaches his peak, a strangled moan coming from his throat and his hand muffles the whimpers he lets out. He can feel his cock spurting cum into his underwear and trousers. He doesn’t want to call attention, but he cums so hard, his body basically slumps back in his seat as he feels his balls tighten with each rope of cum that his cock leaks.
You are awfully quiet afterwards, moving your hand away as you clean it and he tries to gain his breath, feeling dizzy already and so pleased. He wants to hide his face in shame, and the other wants to beg you to do it again.
“I’m sorry” he murmurs.
“Don’t be” you whisper back to him, looking at his wet spot on his crotch. “To me, it was amazing. You definitely made one of my fantasies come true”
He blushes, he feels very self conscious all of the sudden, and he makes sure no one in the library paid attention to them and what they were doing. He moves slightly as if trying to cover up the wet patch on his jeans.
“You enjoyed it?” You ask him, not pushing him too hard.
“Yeah…” He admits, slightly embarrassed but also very much pleased.
You look at the forgotten notebooks, and then to him, as he accommodates on the seat and moves his hair slightly as if that would make him go unnoticed by everyone else.
“If it is worth anything, your tutoring did help me tons” you say, taking your notebooks together to save them in your pack.
He is glad that he could help. Maybe this was your way of repaying? He couldn’t know or decipher it. He takes his things and saves them up in his bag as well. He wanted to go to his dorm and take a shower, and put on pajamas and think about this.
“I’m not great with words…” He starts, his tone hesitant but trying to overcome it. “But… Thank you. I really… Hm. It was cool”
You smirk, nodding slightly as you appreciate his words.
“A bit riské” you tease him playfully.
“Yeah…” he chuckles softly, scratching the back of his neck. “I am a mess”
As he adjust the glasses on his nose, you hum, “Well, nobody really cares but you and me”
“I can’t believe we did… that… in here…” He mumbles, dumb founded. “And I was… so… I completely lost it…”
“Do girls usually make you… lose it?” you ask in a whisper. “Or do you last longer, and I happen to have magical hands?”
He blushes to the blunt question, looking anywhere but to your face as he avoids answering. “Well, um…” he doesn’t want to admit his lack of any experiences with girls “Girls don’t…. touch me like that” he says in a whisper. “So I can’t say…”
You didn’t judge, looking at him, and you nodded.
“Well, next time we’ll see”
Next time. He looks at you with eyes slightly wide, as he tries not to stutter his words. “Next time?”
“Obviously” You say smiling to him. “If I pass the exam, we are doing it without the pants” You say smugly “And… more”
He was so lucky you missed one point to pass the course.

"Whale, whale, whale... look what we have here!" Would be the first thing you hear before he comes barreling towards you at a hundred miles per hour. His body colliding with yours from behind as he brings you in for a tight squeeze
He was never one to really announce his presence, preffering to instead tackle you with affection after a quick fish pun
They never seemed to end when it comes to you
Or, really, they never seemed to end in general
But, if you indulge him just the slightest, it's easy for him to get carried away
He's almost like a dog, in a way
He'd follow you everywhere
To each machine, to each hiding spot, right by your side the second you make your way into the elevator
Every break is spent with him practically glued to your hip, his hands holding onto you in anyway they can
Whether it be by holding your hands, clinging onto your arm, tugging at any article of clothing he could reach rapidly to bring your attention back onto him
He's a Hyper one, and he isn't scared to prove it
He's even been trying to come up with new and improved fish puns
Something that'll impress you
He's self aware, he knows not everyone's a fan of his fish puns
But, even if he was able to score just a tiny giggle from you, he'd be over the moon
"Oh, c'mon! Don't act so koi with me, i dont bite!" His arms wrap around you just a bit tighter, head pressed up right against your side as an proud grin spread across his face.
You had sat on the floor of the elevator, giving yourself a few seconds of peace before having to go back to being tormented once more by the threats lurking around practically every corner. But, of course, there was rarely any moment of peace with finn on your team. He meant well, you knew he did, and he definitely wasn't the malicious type. He just... never seemed to realize when the right time for affection was. And right now, with your chest heaving up and down from a chase you had just endured, you weren't exactly begging for psychical touch.
But at the same time, you couldn't help but find it endearing. Your arm slowly lifted up, shaky from the adrenaline you had just experienced only a few moments ago, before wrapping around him, bringing him just a bit closer. This had caused him to let out an ecstatic gasp in return.
"Yknow, Finn... you're really-" you take a pause, avoiding eye contact with him. Although, despite you doing everything you can not to let your gaze fall right back onto him, you could still feel the way his eyes bored into you. You almost didn't want to say it. Your mouth opening and closing a few times as you tried to muster up the courage. "krilling me with the puns..."
There was a pause. Not one long enough to be considered worrisome, but it had definitely been a decent amount of time before you finally craned your head in his direction. And, once your gaze finally landed on him, the first thing that greeted you were his eyes staring right back into yours. They had widened significantly, and along with that his lips parted slightly. For a second you wondered if it was his body that was shaking or the movement the elevator made as it climbed up to the next floor.
"That..." He began to speak, taking another pause. You soon realized it was his body that was shaking, not the elevator. And, as he took a deep breath, signifying that he was ready to finish his sentence, his smile seemed to stretch farther then you've ever seen. "Was fin-tastic!"
It's safe to say that he'd enjoy it if you ever decided to reply to his puns with some of your own
Nothing would make him happier then hearing a fish pun slip from your mouth, whether it be intentional or a complete accident from all the times you've heard him say them

Overprotective
That single definition was a word you heard thrown every round every now and then when it came to sprout
And, not once was it ever used as a lie
Because he was, in fact, overprotective
A gentle tug of the wrist in an attempt to drag you away from running head on into a twisted, a two hour lecture afterwards about how much danger you could've been in had he not saved you in time
His presence constantly looming over you each floor, never too far away.
It was a natural instict at this point
No matter how far away you were on a floor, the second one thing goes wrong, he's right by your side
Sometimes he could be a little too much
Not that he cares about your complaints when he's grabbing you by the cheeks, twisting your head in every single direction as he inspects you for any sort of wound
"Do you know how risky that was!? You could've lost a heart!" Despite the almost desperate tone behind his movements, turning your head from side to side, his touch was always gentle. He had taken a good blow to the back, his scarf barely holding onto his form as it threatened to slip at any second. You hadn't lost a heart, thankfully, but he sure did.
He kept you huddled behind a few boxes, legs trembling beneath the both of you as you tried to regain your stamina from the chase you had only managed to survive from. His grip was tight, and once he had made sure you hadn't gotten hurt during your little stunt, he slowly let his hands slip from your face.
"Are... you okay?" You tried to reach out, your arms stretching out to check him for any injuries just like he had done for you. And yet, they didn't have to move an inch before sprout's body seemed to slump against you. His head resting against your shoulder as his arms stayed hanging lazily by his sides. He almost didn't want to move, finding too much pleasure in having you pressed up against him.
A sigh slipped past his mouth, the sound drawn out as he hesitated for a second before speaking. "Me? Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Well- I'll be fine. But, let's just stay here for a second, okay..?"
You couldn't remember the last time he had ever admitted to not being okay during a run
Typically, he'd brush off your concern with a dismissive wave of his hand
As long as you were fine, he was fine
It didn't take too long before he was reassuring you, smiling as he always did while he stuck a bandaid over a wound too serious for just a simple bandaid.
He always kept the better stuff for you
Did he ever want to admit he put you before himself almost all of the time?
No.
He didn't want you to worry
He's the one who should be worrying about you, not the other way around
He's a bit of a hopeless romantic, it doesn't take much before he's head over heels in love after a simple smile you threw his way
It's always better to be focused and prepared, especially when the people he loves are constantly being hunted down by corrupted versions of his friends
He doesn't like it when the others point out how distracted he gets everytime he spots you from far away, his body freezing up on the spot as his eyes lock onto the way you pick up protein bar off the floor
For a second he wonders if your admiring his picture on the wrapper
But surely that's wishful thinking...

I have a question that’s probably pretty stupid, but I thought I’d ask someone knowledgeable. I know china is nothing like how it’s painted by imperialism, but the “social credit” system that affects people’s lives and privileges is real right? A lot of people online default to it for the argument towards china being terrible in one way or another, and from what I know it seems like a legitimately bad thing used to punish or censor people. Do I have this wrong? I’m sure there’s more to the story
In brief, while the 'social credit system' exists, it's both fairly regional (as lots of things are in China, everywhere is constantly experimenting and trialling different paths), and generally applies only to corporations, and the rich. Western reporting likes to act as though they're talking to fellow rich people, which obfuscates things - when they say 'your social credit score can stop you from getting plane tickets' they mean 'if you've committed acts of embezzlement or corruption you can't get first-class tickets and have to fly economy with everyone else'.
In the vast majority of cases the system is aimed solely at corporations and regards things like not paying social security benefits and the like. China doesn't have a FICO-like credit system as the US does, because most Chinese people aren't debtors. People in China generally don't go into debt to buy things, they save up (because the Chinese economy is based on the sale of production, rather than the sale of debts, like the US economy). Before this system was established there lacked a unified system of punishments for non-criminal corporate violations.
That's why the western businesses, which own the western news outlets, were very upset about this, and painted it as they did. They complain about stricter regulations anywhere, but for China they get to piggyback off of existing sentiment to get people who otherwise would support these types of regulations to oppose them. The 'environmental pollution regulations are tyrannical government overreach' line goes down a lot smoother when people have already bought into a story of 'authoritarianism'.
Here's some reporting from western sources backing this up:
Contrary to common belief, the cities mainly target companies, not individuals. Nonetheless, legal representatives of a violating company are also included in the blacklists to prevent reoffending elsewhere or under a different company. Nationally, about 75 percent of entities targeted by the system end up on blacklists because of court orders they have ignored—the so-called judgment defaulters. The remaining companies are typically collared for severe marketplace violations—for instance, for food safety infringements, environmental damage, or wage arrears.

There are two big "AI Art Discourse" events of note recently, which I thought were interesting: ACX's "AI Art Turing Test" and the new paper on "AI Poetry Beating Human Poetry". Both of these I think reveal the shape of "what is AI art for", and also say a lot about how these results were utilized in discourse.
To take the latter first, some academics quizzed people on some poetry and had these results:
We found that AI-generated poems were rated more favorably in qualities such as rhythm and beauty, and that this contributed to their mistaken identification as human-authored. Our findings suggest that participants employed shared yet flawed heuristics to differentiate AI from human poetry: the simplicity of AI-generated poems may be easier for non-experts to understand, leading them to prefer AI-generated poetry and misinterpret the complexity of human poems as incoherence generated by AI.
More human than human poems! This certainly seems impressive - and it is. You couldn't have gotten these results ~5 years ago. But that maybe doesn't mean as much as you might think? Because here is the opening half of the winning "Walt Whitman AI" Poem:
I hear the call of nature, the rustling of the trees, The whisper of the river, the buzzing of the bees, The chirping of the songbirds, and the howling of the wind, All woven into a symphony, that never seems to end. I feel the pulse of life, the beating of my heart, The rhythm of my breathing, the soul's eternal art, The passion of my being, that burns with fervent fire, The urge to live, to love, to strive, to reach up higher. I see the beauty all around, the glory of the earth, The majesty of mountains, the miracles of birth, The wonder of the cosmos, the mysteries of the stars, The poetry of existence, that echoes near and far
This fucking sucks. Straight up 2/10 poem. Did this bitch seriously establish the world's most predictable rhyme scheme only to try to rhyme wind with end? You had one job that you chose for yourself, and you screwed it up! This poem has been written a million times before, and says nothing - the Miley Cyrus lyrics of verse.
The reason this won is, yes, because AI tools have advanced heavily in the past few years. But it is also because it is being tested on a dead art. No one cares about poetry - certainly not the survey respondents:
We asked participants several questions to gauge their experience with poetry, including how much they like poetry, how frequently they read poetry, and their level of familiarity with their assigned poet. Overall, our participants reported a low level of experience with poetry: 90.4% of participants reported that they read poetry a few times per year or less, 55.8% described themselves as “not very familiar with poetry”, and 66.8% describe themselves as “not familiar at all” with their assigned poet.
"Or less" is doing a LOT of work there; "yeah I read a few nonfiction books a year" oh sure, totally. 90% of these respondents haven't read a poem that wasn't displayed in the end credits of Minecraft since high school. No one does, poetry as a medium is essentially a relic. That isn't an insult to poets, by the way! There is no shame in being a niche. Not everyone can have the reach of hentai doujin artists; the community is small but they get a ton out of it. But you can't take the art of the community and expect that art to hit outside of it.
This survey didn't ask people to evaluate art; it asked people to evaluate their stereotypical impression of an art they don't care about. It was ~600 people hired off a website, they banged it out ASAP and moved on. This is not to invalidate the results; I am not actually claiming that "real" poets would have scored much better? Maybe, I don't know - that just isn't very relevant.
Let's swing to the AI Art Turing Test results to get more into why. Again, AI art is absolutely "art" in the sense that it is able to pass the test handily. You have to be head-in-the-sand at this point to think that AI can't make an impressionist painting a la the "most liked" art in this contest:
Tumblr media
I have seen the "well real paintings have physicality this is a jpeg" discourse points and the cope couldn't be more real - 99% of art consumption in the modern world is digital or at least prints, let's get you back to bed grandma. But I did find it pretty funny that Scott noted this AI piece as one he particularly liked:
Tumblr media
Because it is nonsensical, right? All that "faded paint", how was it originally painted - just bucket splashes of red and blue? What are those random doors, the random stairs going nowhere on the sides, the vague-nothings engravings? Scott just didn't care about that - he liked the vibe, right? Ancient ruins, epic scale. It isn't a coincidence that the Impressionist art did the best - current AI tools are always impressionist, they have an idea of the vibe and invent the details in between. In Impressionism that is the whole point.
Now the trap is to go "REAL artists can tell because of this or that" because idk, the tools might get better, they might fill in more and more details. The real revelation here is that you don't need the tools to get better - visual art isn't so different from poetry. Most people don't pay attention to it all that much. You see thousands, thousands of pieces of art a week; you probably don't even realize how many. Do you really care if the fading paint makes coherent sense on a billboard ad or a doctor's office wall painting? So much art that is made is "industrial" in this sense - it has no need to be good. Only good enough to fulfill its utilitarian role. In these fields AI absolutely is going to Take Your Jobs in some form, and already is (though imo not a ton of them). And it won't really bother most people. This can go pretty deep - I promise you people are "utilizing" AI porn right now. They are ~appreciating the details~ way more than is typical, the product is working.
All this works until it doesn't, though. When it is an art book by a favourite artist whose vision you want to pour over, learning that all the individual details were just made by AI completely defeats the purpose, right? Imagine reading a book of these poems. Outside of the novelty, "AI is the point" factor you would rather watch infomercials on repeat, I can't imagine a more pointless use of my time. "Reading arbitrary poems" is never fun, regardless of the quality of the poems. Most people don't care about poetry! The reason you care is that you care about the poet, and what they want to say. You read poetry with context, it being inserted with intent into the pages of a manga, at the end of a video game, because you like the artist and follow them on twitter. The quality of the prose isn't more important than that.
Which is a harsh limit for all of these kinds of tests. They essentially aren't testing art, right? You do not ever get paid twenty bucks to sit down and read a dozen poems and score them. That has no bearing on how you would actually ever learn to care about a poem. Which doesn't make AI art useless or anything, more that these tests will very quickly run into their limits of what they can meaningfully tell you. The actual bar is "creating something someone cares about". From that lens, I fully believe hybrid methods that privilege artistic intent are currently working and will improve. But I think for "solo" AI art getting that to work is going to be complicated.

Penalty II
Barcelona Femení + Jenni Hermoso x Hardersson!Reader
Natalia Guijarro (OC) x Hardersson!Reader
Part of The Big Adventures Universe
Summary: Jenni tries to score a penalty
Tumblr media
Jenni arrives after lunch, stretched and ready to beat you where Alexia has failed.
"Can you believe that this is the same kids that Tana went around getting our shirts for?" Jana asks in disbelief as Jenni sends an absolute rocket towards the goal only for you to collect it like it was shot at you by a six year old.
You drop the ball to your foot before shooting it back to her.
Jenni doesn't have your skills in the slightest so she doesn't catch it with her hands but rather her stomach. To her credit, she takes it well and grabs the ball to take another penalty.
"You know," Pina says as she watches Jenni kick another ball at you," When Aitana came up to me to ask, I was certain she was giving them to a kid that wanted to be a forward. I watched her grab one from Mariona and Salma before me."
"But why?" Talia asks suddenly," She's always wanted to be a keeper."
"I didn't know her," Pina replies with an eye roll," Aitana didn't give much of an explanation. Sue me for assuming."
"I couldn't imagine her as anything other than a keeper," Aitana says finally as another ball goes rocketing at you that you collect without even a second thought.
"It seems weird now that you say it," Pina agrees," But again, I didn't know who it was for at the time."
She reaches for more of the juice that Paredes packed.
Across the field, you collect yet another ball as Alexia grabs Jenni by the back of the shirt to pull her into an imitation of a team huddle.
The two of them are close enough that their heads are pressed together, no doubt trying to come up with a plan they haven't tried yet.
You stand there awkwardly, adjusting your gloves as the two veterans whisper together like two schoolkids. You wait a little longer before deciding that you'll just go and sit down while the two of them cook up a master plan.
"Hey," You say to Talia softly, taking her hand as you sit down.
"Hey," She replies," Are you finished then?"
"I think they're trying to work out a plan," You confess," They're two seconds away from drawing it out with a stick in the dirt."
It's a bit embarrassing for them because you've hit the nail on the head. Both of them are clutching sticks, looking on the ground for a patch without grass so they can draw something out.
"Do you think they regressed since they retired?" Talia wonders aloud when Jenni and Alexia find a clear patch and get to work drawing with their sticks. "Like, do you think that they've gone back to children? Is that what's going to happen to us?"
You frown. "I don't know. Did it happen to your cousin?"
"Patri was always a child."
"Okay!" Alexia says suddenly, clapping her hands," We've got it. We've done it. Get back out there."
You laugh a little under your breath but get back up.
"Don't let them win!" Patri yells after you along with the jeering from the rest of the girls as you take your spot back on your goal line.
Jenni runs up to kick the ball only to fall short and wheel around back to Alexia to whisper to her about something.
Alexia whispers back until they're having a little argument in hushed voices.
"Come on!" Pina cajoles," Are you scared or what?"
There's more jeering the longer they take until Jenni steps up again.
She doesn't do a run up and you're already moving to the left before she's even realised she's shooting that way.
You collect it easily, rolling the ball back.
Jenni huffs and Alexia runs up to whisper something into her ears. She nods and tries again.
Just like Alexia, she grows a bit more annoyed the longer it takes to get passed you. You don't give her any hope and the next time Alexia comes up to whisper in her ears, she snaps," I know! It just isn't working!"
"Do you want to stop?" You ask," It's getting late now."
"Yeah," Jenni says," Alright-"
"No!" Alexia snaps," Don't admit defeat! Don't let her win!"
"Hey!" Jenni throws her hands up in defence. "I'm more than happy to let her win. I know when we're outclassed."
"We're not outclassed! We're just rusty!"
Jenni claps you on the back as Alexia continues to insist she's just a little rusty.
"How do you deal with her at training all the time? Is she this intense as a coach?"
"More intense," You answer," You should see her when the midfielders mess up."
Jenni laughs. "Oh, I can imagine. Does she still get crazy eyes?"
You shrug and that's answer enough.
"I don't get crazy eyes!"
Jenni can't stop laughing now. "Sure you don't, Ale."

Love In Different Shapes - Various HSR Boys x GN! Reader
★ Summary: Your lover loves to show that they love you, however some of their methods to do so, aren't something you'd expect - i.e HSR Boys and their love languages (but it's not your typical love language)
☆ Characters Included (Separate): Dan Heng, Jing Yuan, Blade, Welt, Luka, Sampo, Gepard, Loucha + bonus character
★ Genre/Trope: Romantic + Crack (?)
☆ Warnings: None
★ Extra: Just had random thoughts about HSR characters love language and decided to write about what theirs is in my opinion - just not your typical ones. // Not proof read - we die like Himeko // There's a HSR Girl version as well! Right here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dan Heng shows his love unintentionally by staring at you. Just full on staring. I mean, I'm sure most of us agree that Dan Heng is a man of few words, but I feel like you could be getting up to get water and you'll come back to Dan Heng staring at you. You might think 'oh, he wants me back in bed'
no.
He's just staring very lovingly at you, as creepy as it is. He wants to make sure he sees you. He can't explain why it gives him comfort to just look at you or why he decides to show that he cares about you this way. But he does! It's his way of saying he cares, and although not many may see it as him showing his love to you. Both you and him know what it means when he decides to look at you for more then 5 minutes without talking.
Tumblr media
Somehow, Jing Yuans love language consists of making sure you aren't able to do your work. Somehow his love language is doing everything in his power to get you to pay attention to him.
You know those videos of cats knocking over a cup? That's him, and all he wants is your attention. He loves seeing what ways make you look at him, even for a split second. Would it be a surprise kiss? Softly rubbing your arm up and down? Knocking over an expensive vase??
He wants to find everyway to ensure you look at him with those pretty eyes, and as confusing as this love language may be to others. He truly does just enjoy messing with you.
Tumblr media
Biting. I will not elaborate (Well I am but-)
Blade just bites you. Not harshly, just nibbles. You could just be doing some work, and your neck or shoulder are exposed, he'd just come up to you and just.
Nom.
You have so many bite makes because of him, but he doesn't care. He's at work often and as much as I'm sure he loves kissing you. He loves biting you playfully just as much. The amount of bite marks around your body that keeps multiplying is just a show of his love to you.
Tumblr media
Welt shows his love by drawing you. He loves sketching you doing whatever and showing you. He enjoys looking at your face and capturing every detail with a stroke of a pencil. He probably has a sketch book dedicated to drawings of you, but most are ripped out as you stick it on your wall.
If you offered to model for Welt he'd be more then happy and ensures to be extra careful - not like he wasn't before but he wants to capture every single detail there is that he sees. And honestly? If you were to draw your own drawing of him then he'd be so happy. It's stuck on his wall, it's his wallpaper and it'll even by his profile picture for awhile.
Tumblr media
Luka shows off. He's one of the guys that's like
"This is for you babe!"
But he fails, miserably even. He's usual so good at showing off, but when he tries to show off to you to show you how much he absolutely adores you he fails.
Every.
Single.
T i m e.
It's okay though, you get the gesture. You understand what he's trying to do, even after the countless fails. He wants to be successful even once as he feels if he continues failing you won't love him anymore.
You do though, you understand. And honestly? It's kinda cute how hard he tries trying to score a basket just to show you he loves you.
Tumblr media
Reverse scamming (credits to my friend for this idea :D)
Sampo loves scamming others, but you? You're no exception sadly. On the other hand, how he scams you isn't what you'd think. He'd maybe scam you until getting what YOU want. Now what HE wants. Sometimes he may even scam you to get just a simple kiss or a hug.
You try to tell him if he wants a kiss or a hug he can just ask, but he finds it more fun this way. And you may even try to convince him to stop "scamming" you into getting the things you want, but he also refuses.
Tumblr media
We all know Gepard is trying to garden and failing (I think) right? So what does everyone think of getting a half wilted flower from this man :D
He tries I swear, he just cannot do it correctly. You may even just get a tomato as an anniversary gift as he just couldn't take care of the flowers he was trying to grow for you. Bro may be more upset with being unable to grow you the best flower then he is about not catching Sampo.
He keeps trying and failing but, he still gives it to you in hopes you'll accept it! You will right? Even if he's given you a potato that's about to go bad?
Tumblr media
Loucha can and will pat your head to show how much he loves you. As a merchant and a doctor, he doesn't necessarily have the time to sit down and relax, and even so. He doesn't seem like the type to want to. However he doesn't want his partner to feel neglected either, so to sure that he does love you so you don't forget. He pats your head with a small smile.
It doesn't even matter if your taller then him, he'll find a way to pat your head, whether it be to punch you in the stomach so you can bend over, pull you down by your collar or even just climbing onto his coffin to just pat your head a few times. He will pat that head of yours so you're reminded he still loves you despite his schedule.
Tumblr media
Dr Ratio definitely info dumps to show his love. I don't even know much about this man yet but I know for a fact that he'd be casually talking about the history of something or in general just anything he knows whilst you two are eating.
He'd say something that's so jaw-dropping and continue eating and I love him for that. He seems sweet honestly, and if you want to info dump about anything you like? He listens with such intent, asks questions and remembers every word. I love him so much (I know he isn't out yet but-)
Tumblr media
Hehehe. I spent a good bit rambling with my friend about certain HSR characters "unusual" love language and decided to write one! It's not proof read as most of the time, my rambles aren't proof read. But as always, if I messed some spelling or grammar up. Inform me and I'll fix it :D

Helloooo :)
This is the 31-Day Challenge that I've created for us to do together this month. It's just something simple and fun. Enjoy! - BlissfullyEcho
——————————————-
DAY 1: Deep clean your living space (bedroom, apartment, house, condo, camper, etc)
DAY 2: Deep clean your car (if you don't have a car, deep clean something else that you haven't done but should do: junk drawer, dresser, yoga mat, makeup brushes, etc)
DAY 3: Try a new (healthy!) recipe-- this could even be a healthy dessert or beverage
DAY 4: Try a guided meditation on YouTube for 10 minutes after waking up and before checking social media
DAY 5: Spend an extra 15 minutes working on something for school, work, hobbies, or your own personal development
DAY 6: Unfollow, delete, and block social media accounts and phone contacts that are just not part of your life anymore (or those who you plan on not having as a part of your life anymore)
DAY 7: Delete social media pictures that don't fit in with the best version of you. This could be the overedited photos, the thirst trap you put on there because that one person made you upset, etc.
DAY 8: Try a new workout that you haven't done. Pilates, ballet, barre, tennis, CrossFit, kickboxing, F45, cycling, running, swimming, etc.
DAY 9: Pamper your pet. Brush, clean, trim their nails, give them treats, etc. Go above and beyond for them today. (If you don't have animals, pamper yourself today!)
DAY 10: Enjoy the sunshine. Go outside (wear your sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat) for 15-20 minutes and enjoy your own company and nature.
DAY 11: No phone 30 minutes before bed. Set your bedtime tonight, and set an alarm 30 minutes prior to that. Once your alarm goes off, put your phone on DND and read a book before bed. Read until you are tired enough to turn off your lights and sleep.
DAY 12: Watch a documentary about something and learn! Maybe it's something you've never had an interest in. Just please make it positive! No heartbreaking or tragic documentaries. Let's not invite that into our "That Girl" challenge.
DAY 13: Buy a self-care item. This could be a yoga mat, face mask, cleansing oil, the Bible, perfume, etc. It can be as expensive or inexpensive as you'd like.
DAY 14: Go out on a date with yourself. Take yourself out to do something you've never done/been to before.
DAY 15: Aim to drink at least 60oz. of pure water today.

DAY 17: Turn your notifications off.
DAY 18: No social media today.
DAY 19: Do something creative today. Buy a canvas, paint, and a brush, and follow a Bob Ross tutorial; maybe buy a jewelry-making kit. Take today and be creative for at least 30 minutes.
DAY 20: 10,000 steps OR walk for an hour
DAY 21: Go through your finances and see where you can budget. Take this time to audit your subscriptions and see if you would like to cancel any recurring subscriptions to save you extra money each month.
DAY 22: Avoid eating animal products today. Just focus on whole grains, fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, water, and vitamins.
DAY 23: Schedule any doctor appointments you might have. If you don't have to, then take today to create a to-do list for the next 3 days.

DAY 30: Sort through your bathroom drawers and cabinets and organize them.
DAY 31: Create a vision board for April.

Supercorptober - 14. Chill - part 3
This is part 3 of the Supercorptober - 14. Chill series. It is a lighter fic based on @only-in-movies 's comment (thank you so much for reading and commenting).
This can be read as a one-shot, but I strongly suggest reading part 1 and part 2 before (you won't regret it!).
************************************************************************
The first game night after Kara's return is cause for celebration. Each person brings some of Kara's favourite foods - there are potstickers galore, five different kind of extra large pizzas and every type of candy and popcorn and chips under the sun.
Kara has been awfully chummy with Lena ever since her return, but Alex has decided - on Kelly's insistent advising - to leave the interrogation to a later date.
Regardless, Alex has been witnessing Kara and Lena being disgustingly all over each other for a few days, enough so that when Kara proposes collaborative games as a theme, Alex is not immediately suspicious.
They start with Pictionary, and Kara is a good drawer and a very good artist, so it figures that the Lena-Kara team immediately takes the lead.
Alex only starts suspecting something is awry when Lena's turn comes.
Now, Lena's studied engineering. She's precise in her schematics and an expert at industrial drawings. However, Lena does not fare well at drawing random animals or outlandish concepts, especially not under a stringent time constraint, and Alex is counting on this fact to bridge the score gap between their team and hers.
Hence why Alex can only stare gobsmacked as Kara guesses ten (10!!) words from Lena's horrendous, abstract drawings. The worst being when Kara guesses "the flow of time!" from Lena's drawing two parallel lines without direction in less than two seconds (could Lena not draw a clock and arrows like a normal person????).
Of course, KaraLena wins Pictionary by a mile, humbly accepting everyone's congratulations at their chemistry by spouting ridiculous lines like: "well, we missed each other so much, and now we're just closer than ever." Or "must be the connection we rekindled after our fight."
The rift is still present in everyone's mind, so nobody dares question them.
The mockery continues as they move on to mimes, Kara guessing Lena's terrible mime of a mole in one second and a half (Alex's own guess would have been closer to giraffe).
Alex frowns, stares extra hard at Lena's lips in the following rounds to make sure she's not whispering for Kara's ears - nothing.
She's pretty sure Lena's not a ventriloquist (how many talents can this woman have?) but then this doesn't explain how Kara has been guessing her horrific attempts at miming with frightening accuracy and in record time.
This does not explain, either, how KaraLena are able to coordinate, later, when the Super-friends move on to card games, as if they KNOW what the other is about to play before they even do.
(Alex has to recognise that she's been underestimating Kara for a long time. She's only just starting to find out the extent of her sister's intelligence, and she suspects Kara's way smarter than anyone but Lena ever gave her credit for.
Alex now knows that Kara is very much capable of counting the cards in her deck of fifty-two, has just never bothered to in an attempt to soothe the egos of her family members.
Even accounting for this correction, nothing explains how Kara is able to predict exactly what Lena is going to play in the FIRST and SECOND rounds of the game.)
Something fishy is definitely going on, and Alex is determined to find out what.
It doesn't help either that Kara has been smiling her secret smile the whole night, Lena sending her more discrete but equally incriminating satisfied glances throughout the evening.
Alex’s gaze focuses on J’onn, Alex tilting her chin towards the kitchen.
J'onn shrugs his shoulders.
"J'onn? Will you come help me in the kitchen?"
J'onn chuckles in his deep baritone, but stands up nonetheless, following Alex into the kitchen agreeably.
"What is it, Alex?"
"Kara is cheating at these games with Lena. I know it. This is simply not possible - they guessed everything right after two seconds, they're collaborating on games where cards are hidden, and they've been smirking at each other the whole night."
J'onn smothers a laugh but cannot hide his endeared and slightly weary smile as he asks:
"And what would you have me do about it that requires cornering me in the kitchen?"
Alex stands up on her tiptoes to whisper in J'onn's ear, hoping against hope that Kara is too busy in the living-room with her best-friend-gal-pal-whatever-her-status-is Lena to eavesdrop.
"I want you to read their minds during the game. See if they're cheating or something."
J'onn frowns, shakes his head no.
"I can't."
"I know it's not ethical, J'onn, but come on!"
"No, that's not what I meant, Alex. I wouldn't do it even if I could, but I can't. Lena's mind has been closed off to me ever since Kara came back from the Phantom Zone."
Alex's eyes widen in surprise as the cogs start turning in her head.
Lena. The witch powers. The way Lena found Kara. The golden storm when Kara returned.
Something pings in Alex's brain, and she marches back to the living-room, stomping over to the couple that has laid down their cards, and is currently cuddling very closely, Lena's back pressed against Kara's torso, Kara's arms wrapped firmly around Lena, their legs entwined in a way that can only be described as extremely non-platonic (in Alex's humble lesbian opinion).
"You damn cheaters!!!", Alex rages at the entangled pair, as a way of introduction.
Let me handle this, Lena thinks, and Kara just smiles and settles her head in the crook of Lena's neck.
"Cheaters?" Lena challenges, her right eyebrow perfectly raised. "And do you have any proof to sustain your accusations, Agent Danvers?"
Alex is positively fuming when she answers.
"You've been communicating telepathically, all this time, I don't know how, but you have- I'm sure of it."
Lena laughs openly at the outlandish idea, and Nia pipes up.
"I mean, I know they've been very lucky tonight, Alex, but telepathy? Come on."
"Yes, listen to Nia, Alex. You're really going to great lengths to justify losing. You know, you could simply be asking us for classes on communication, it would be more honest and more productive, in my opinion."
Kara guffaws and Lena smirks (her poker face has been deteriorating a lot around Kara, lately).
"You- you- the nerve- communication- the audacity-" Alex's face takes on a deep crimson shade, and Kelly rises to rub her fiancée's arm quietly.
"Calm down, honey. Lena's just teasing you", she soothes, ever the pacifier.
Alex takes in a deep breath, then points her finger at Lena accusingly:
"Care to explain, then, Ms. I-am-a-witch, how coincidentally J'onn has been unable to read your mind ever since Kara came back from the Phantom Zone?"
Lena's surprised gaze turns to J'onn.
"You have?"
J'onn nods. "Not that I would have tried to either way, us Martians are bound by a strong ethical code. But yes, your mind has been surrounded by a barrier much similar to Kara's ever since we brought Kara back."
Lena nods pensively.
"Hm. That is certainly hard to explain."
"Admit it, Lena! You've been communicating with Kara the whole night. I am sure of it."
"Well", Lena deflects, "while we're on the topic of confessions" - Alex's eyes narrow dangerously - "would now be a good time to tell you that Kara and I are engaged?"
Alex's gasp can be heard even against Nia's high-pitched squeal.
"Finally!" Nia screams. "When's the wedding?”
Kelly smiles and whispers congratulations, J'onn engulfs the pair in a fatherly hug, Brainy sends them a wet smile (he's been way more emotional ever since Lena warned him about boxing up his feelings) and Alex just stares ahead, dumbfounded, her mouth hanging open.
Well-played, Lena, Kara thinks. I’ve always known my fiancee was a genius.
Lena chuckles, blushes at the compliment, and shivers at the appellation. I don't think this will work twice, though. We'll need a bigger diversion next time.
Kara hums against Lena's neck, barely missing a beat before she thinks up:
Well- how about a child?

Their s/o is overworked
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Ot8 ateez × Gn!reader (individually)
Genre: fluff, comfort, reaction
Request: Reader is super stressed due to work/school and Ateez BF, or BFF take your pick, try and help you out.
Warnings: mentions of food at Seonghwa, Mingi, Wooyoung and jongho's, not proofread.
A/n: me writing this after being overworked and overwhelmed because of finals was such a genius move
Tumblr media
Seonghwa
Oh you're pulling an all nighter? You got it wrong, you both are pulling this all nighter. Even if there's nothing he can do to finish your assignment faster, he will be with you to make sure you don't burn throughout it. Cozy blankets, bag full of snacks and light kisses to your temple whenever he feels like you're starting to stress. If he thinks it's been too long, he will take you to bed immediately.
Hongjoong
Honestly he doesn't completely understand what he's doing lmao😭 Will try to hype you up but will say things like "c'mon, it's okay! Let's celebrate, it's not every day you score a 40% on an exam!" Like I sure hope not?? He's kinda clumsy but he has the best intentions! It even makes you laugh so that's a win for him lol.
Yunho
Wants to help with everything that is possible. Do you need to make an assignment about a topic he never even heard before? That's okay, he can make some research to help you, no worries. He can learn your finals' topic just so he can teach you. Whatever you want him to do, he will. Really, just wants to see you well and rested again.
Yeosang
He's with you in every step of the way fr. Even if he can't do much, even if he's there just to stay by your side and give you emotional support. He really just wants to be there for you so you know you're not alone. And if you try to tell him that there's no need to, he will insist on being there like "I like being with you" or "this is kinda entertaining" knowing damn well it isn't - he's really there for you :(
San
Honestly the best comfort you could ever imagine. He will hold you so don't break down but, if the tears are inevitable, he will hug you close. Always reassured your value so you don't fall into self depreciation. Throughout your entire low, he will be there to be strong for both of you when you can't.
Mingi
Will constantly check on you but not in a way that makes you bothered or annoyed. He is actually very subtle about it, you'd be surprised. Sneakily giving you some food so you can get energised again, softly convincing you to make pauses and watch a show with him or something... Is also your hype man whenever you feel like crying or giving up: will make you laugh until you can't remember why you were sad in first place
Wooyoung
He wants you to rest so badly. He will always make sure to make you stop just for a bit everyday so you don't end up overwhelmed. Yes you will sleep on time and won't wake up extra early. You will eat well and close your computer every once in a while. If you want him to wash your hair for you he will. Everything so you can relax.
Jongho
Since you are already so overworked, he will make sure that you'll have nothing else on you that can weigh you more. He will wash your dishes, make you dinner, clean the house even if you don't even live together. He just wants to take some responsibility off your shoulders so you can be able of breathing for a while.

Yandere!Toby x Reader General Hcs
Tumblr media
With Toby, I feel like he is less of the stereotypical yandere
He isn't like Ayano Aishi, or Yuno Gasai, his obssession is more desperate if that makes sense
For example, the people listed above spend their time protecting their beloved or making sure nothing comes between them
Toby however, spends his time doting on you (or the idea of you), stealing things from you, sending yearning love notes, etc
He doesn't truly have a desire to hurt people when it comes to you, he more so just wants to keep you around him at all times and stare at you like an animal in a zoo
But if it came down to it, and he felt like he had no other option, he isn't above killing someone for you
Whilst stalking you, he will spend his time aimlessly following you around like a lovesick puppy, picking up any trash you may drop and cherishing it forever
He will sneak into your home while you sleep, crawling into your bed with you and being ever so careful to cuddle you in a way you won't wake up and notice him
Once he's able to convince himself that he should get up, he will go around your house, smelling your clothes, looking at what snacks you like the best, and making a mental note of what soaps you use so he can buy them and smell just like you
He will also steal some clothes every now and then, but he feels bad about taking something from you so he won't do it often
You will be scratching your head, wondering where on earth that one t-shirt went, and Toby will be silently giggling to himself outside your window while breathing in the scent on the shirt he stole
While he is unhealthily obsessed with you, he still has a sense of logic about him, so he won't try to force you into loving him
He will gradually make his way into your life, whether that be the cute shy guy at the library, the dorky guy at the coffee shop, the man that you saw playing with a stray dog, etc, he will be there
And he will find a way into your heart one way or another
If he actually scores a relationship with you, his obsessive antics don't stop, they only ramp up now that he can be more open with them
Constantly staring at you, almost never blinking because he doesn't want to miss a second of your beautiful face
Always stealing your clothes so he can smell like you and show off who he belongs to
Being so so clingy and so so jealous, almost always having his arms wrapped around you and his nose in your neck, begging for you to kiss him and rub his head all sweet like
All the while, he is staring down the person that dared be anything more than slightly friendly to you, making sure they know exactly what their fate will be if they continue
He won't isolate you per se, but he will try to make sure your eyes are always on him
If you go out, he will be there with you, never separating from your side
If you don't look at him for too long, he will get upset and move your face to face his, giving you a pathetic pout and watery eyes
The way he sees it, he is your plaything, you are the only reason he exists, and he will do everything for you
If you wanted to straight up beat him up, push him around and spit in his face, he'd take it all with a smile and beg for more
If you wanted to hold him and kiss his face, telling him what a pretty boy he is, he'd be on the brink of tears while asking you not to stop
He is yours is what i'm trying to say
His mind is yours, his body is yours, his very soul is yours
He is yours

Alien : Romulus - a 7/10 reason to stop making Alien films
This review will be spoiler-free
When I came out of the theater yesterday, after having gone through a viewing of Alien Romulus, I caught myself agreeing with my friends - this was pretty good!
And I am beyond poisoned about the Alien franchise since Ridley Scott got his grubby paws all over it with Prometheus. The only reason I made the effort to move my ass to the theater to see this one was because he wasn't directing (and also I didn't have to pay for it) (thanks sib).
I knew Alvarez from two of his previous films, the 2013 remake of Evil Dead and Don't Breathe. I am pretty mixed on both - they demonstrate solid filmmaking abilities and (in the case of Evil Dead), a deep respect for franchises he's adding to. However they are also a little heavy on the jumpscares for my taste, and in the case of Don't Breathe I just can't praise the film without having to mention that the third act twist is gross in an entirely unnecessary, shock-value way, that does nothing for the film thematically.
That did give me some hope for Romulus however, because that third act twist told me Alvarez likes talking about rape and impregnation. And contrary to Don't Breathe... that's right at home in Alien.
So what about the film then? It's good. Solid premise, I like that we're finally, finally, seven films in, seeing the planet-side society that births all those rundown spaceships. Good pair of main characters with on one side a demonstrably resourceful Rain and on the other a very nuanced look at the franchise's synthetics with Andy. The others are more forgettable but I can't blame that too much on the film - they're well characterized in a few short scenes and that's all I can expect really. The build-up is solid, the various ticking clocks and sources of tensions well established.
What I find particularly notable is the really good setpieces and the use of facehuggers in a way I've wanted to see for a long time. Very good physical effects supplemented by good to ok-ish CGI. The writing is very heavy-handed - I wish more people looked at what O'Bannon did with exposition before they write their own Alien scripts. I do give credit to Alvarez and his co-writer Sayagues for the cool concepts explored and the way they thread Andy's character exploration through them.
The editing is mostly blameless - I wouldn't call it great or even that good, especially with how hectic it gets during some more action-ey scenes, but you can tell Roberts isn't specialized or even used to horror films. I guess he took from his experience on Pressure which would explain a lot... The score is really good, one of the highlights of the film in my opinion - I've liked almost all I've heard from Wallfisch so I wasn't surprised to find out he did this one.
So why did I give this review a very baitey title. It became clear as I was watching the fourth, then the inevitable fifth act unfold, that we were, collectively, scraping the barrel on what can be done with Alien. Prometheus and Covenant, beyond the fact that they were garbage movies, were already trying desperately to find new things to do with the concept. Romulus succeeded, for the most part, in finding new ways to twist it into something interesting, something we hadn't seen before (or at least not entirely). And I'm pretty sure that's it.
I don't want more directors to spend months racking their brains to try and find three or more scene setups that haven't already been done in seven main films, two AVP films and countless video games, in order to string them together into a coherent 2 and a half hour flick. I don't think it's impossible, Alvarez clearly demonstrated that he could do it and I'm pretty sure other people could. But why waste so much time, talent and energy on a series that objectively does not need expanding upon?
I know why, it's because the current studio system is allergic to anything that doesn't have brand recognition. But I think it's sad. And I think it would be a lot more gracious to put an end to a franchise after a pretty good film that did all it could to honor its predecessors rather than try to keep squeezing more out of it until it turns into the horror version of Star Wars.

hi i cant reblog this post but the results are bothering me so im gonna go through everybody listed here one by one in order of who's leading in this poll:
CALICO JACK: the entire reason im making this post and the entire reason i even thought abt this poll longer than 2 seconds is bc i immediately wrote him off for several reasons and then saw that he was WINNING and i need to set the record straight. first of all, calico jack does not have cybertruck money. those things are going for like $100k right now, cj has $30 in his savings and he does not have the credit score necessary to get himself a goddamned cybertruck. second of all the car calico jack owns is like a ford something or other and it's one million years old and does not pass inspection but it DOES have a pair of truck nuts dangling off the back. you know that video with the red truck speeding through an open field with cinder blocks on it?? that’s jack’s truck
A BADMINTON: i could see it, and i know this is insane bc OP said they're interchangeable and the ARE but i could see it with nigel specifically. my first thought was that ppl who own cybertrucks aren't usually RICH rich like that, but also there's a certain type of arrogant morons who like to showboat their wealth but also are dumb and have bad taste and i think nigel is that type of guy. im thinking abt him going out of his way to hang out with stede just to bully him and make fun of his ship and i think nigel would think owning a cybertruck is some sort of flex. chauncey is less interested in tormenting stede for the hell of it and more into just straight-up trying to kill stede by any means necessary and something abt the single-minded goal of it makes me think chauncey's a bit more pragmatic and less into the showboating compared to his brother (yeah there are like Reasons why nigel might seem a bit more lighthearted than chauncey, only one of them is trying to avenge his brother when we meet him, but also who cares it's the fucking badmintons lol). the car(s) chauncey owns isn't flashy but it is pricey.
PRINCE RICKY: this man is like distant british royalty, i dont think he even learned how to drive until he decided he wanted to follow stede's path and run away to become a modern au equivalent of a pirate. after learning to drive with a private tutor he went out and bought a used audi that was one year old and had less than 5k miles on it and that was him "roughing it"
IZZY: so i voted for him bc i think the aesthetics PERFECTLY fit him but after thinking abt it i would probably change my vote to a badminton. izzy sees cars as a necessary tool to take him where he needs to go and his only requirement is that the color of his car is black. he only buys a new car when the one he has is so old that it's worth more to fix than to replace, and so the only situation where izzy would buy a cybertruck is if he happened to be due for a new car at the same time that the cybertruck was coming out. i think in that scenario the aesthetic kinship he would feel for the truck would be enough to make him buy one even though it's more than he usually spends on cars and it's not his usual sedan. and then he would get in the car and drive it two miles and the software would fail and the car would completely die
STEDE: would not buy a cybertruck simply bc they are ugly. he has better taste than that
ED: same as above but also he's way too smart for that. come on.
FRENCHIE: guys, frenchie's the one RUNNING the scams, not falling for them
SPANISH JACKIE: why is she even on this list. of all the polls to include jackie on, why is this the one. no she doesn't own a fucking cybertruck, come on

Evgeni Malkin said he's always felt slightly overlooked.
One of the premier centers of his generation, the 37-year-old has played his NHL career as the second center on the Pittsburgh Penguins behind longtime teammate Sidney Crosby. He was the No. 2 pick in the 2004 NHL Draft. Alex Ovechkin, possibly the only Russia-born player more statistically accomplished, went No. 1 to the Washington Capitals.
Malkin doesn't mind. Actually, it's just the way he likes it.
"I'm not the kind of guy that wants media around me. I like to be quiet a little bit," Malkin said. "I want to just play the game. Probably, people want, like, my private life a little bit more. But I'm, like, a little bit closed.
"Maybe my English is not good before, not talk too much with media. Again, this is kind of myself. I'm OK with that because I know I'm a good player."
Numbers do talk, though. In his 18th season, Malkin is third in Penguins history with 1,261 points, 485 goals and 776 assists, trailing Mario Lemieux (1,723 points; 690 goals, 1,033 assists) and Crosby (1,540 points; 571 goals, 969 assists).
Ovechkin reached out after Malkin eclipsed Fedorov.
"He's a star in the League," Ovechkin said. "I think he's a tremendous player. He knows how to win. He knows how to play. It's not a surprise he has so many points, so many goals and assists."
"People are talking about Ovi a lot. They talk about (Connor) McDavid. They talk about (Nathan) MacKinnon," Letang said. "You don't hear Geno's name a lot. What he's been able to do in this league for that long and at this age still, being the goal scorer that he is, it's just special.
"I think it's always been (that way), except maybe the year he won the Hart and everything. I think it's always been a little bit like that. He's not seen to his true color."
Without Malkin, Crosby said his NHL career would have been more difficult. That pair, along with Letang, has won the Stanley Cup three times (2009, 2016, 2017). They qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 16 consecutive seasons together before missing them last season.
"There are nights where you don't feel great or have your best," Crosby said. "You're watching Geno do his thing out there. That's happened a lot. I think we've pushed each other over the years, but he's a guy that has always stepped up when he needs to. I think that's just the competitive nature in him.
"I think the consistency is the biggest thing. You don't have that kind of consistency without being as competitive as he is. He's been amazing for a lot of years. The stats show it."
"I think the biggest thing for me that I admire about Geno is how competitive he is," Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said. "Just his competitive spirit is off the charts. His will to win, his want to win, and his will and want to score and produce offense. I don't think anyone likes scoring goals more than 'G.' You can see it in his raw emotion when he scores.
"Sometimes, I don't think Geno gets the credit that he deserves in the hockey world for the body of work that he's put together in this league and how talented he is. He's without a doubt one of the greatest players of all-time."
love a good geno lovefest

Ghostbusters

Steve slammed Natasha against the wall. Vincent was leaning against the wall next to them, holding a pack of peanuts he got from the vending machine.
"Where is it?" Steve hissed, frustrated with the redhead.
"Safe." She replied.
"Do better!"
Natasha looked into his eyes, looking for an answer. "Where did you get it?"
Steve put more pressure on her arms. "Why would I tell you?"
"Fury gave it to you. Why?"
Damn! This is just like watching an episode of Real Housewives.
Steve got the idea that she had opened the file. "What's on it?"
"I don't know." She answered truthfully.
"Stop lying!" He gritted through his teeth.
Vincent could see the slight smile on her face. "I only act like I know everything, Rogers."
"I bet you knew Fury hired the pirates, didn't you?" Steve looked out the room's window to make sure nobody was about to come in, or nobody was watching them.
"Well, it makes sense. The ship was dirty. Fury needed a way in, so do you."
Steve lifted her a little by her jacket. "I'm not gonna ask you again."
"Steve, watch it now, will you!" Vincent spoke, lightning sparking at his fingertips again.
Natasha looked at Vincent, giving him a look that it was fine. "I know who killed Fury. Most of the intelligence community doesn't believe he exists. The ones who do call him the Winter Soldier. He's credited with over two dozen assassinations in the last fifty years."
"So he's a ghost story." Steve deadpanned.
Guess we got upgraded to ghostbusters...
"Five years ago, I was escorting a nuclear engineer out of Iran. Somebody shot out my tires near Odessa. We lost control and went straight over a cliff, I pulled us out, but the Winter Soldier was there. I was covering my engineer, so he shot him straight through me." She pulled up her shirt to show him the scar on the side of her stomach.
"Soviet slug, no rifling. Bye-bye, bikinis."
"Goddamn," Vincent mumbled to himself turned out it wasn't quite enough because Natasha looked at him with a smirk and winked.
"Yeah, I bet you look terrible in them now," Steve told her. Natasha slightly smiled.
"Going after him is a dead end. I know, I've tried."
Natasha held up the flash drive. "Like you said, he's a ghost story."
Steve took the flash drive from her. "Well, let's find out what the ghost wants."
Natasha nodded and looked at Vincent. "First, we need to stop at a store to get mr. pretty boy over here a shirt."
___
"First rule of going on the run is, don't run, walk," Natasha informed the two.
Steve looked down at his shoes. "If I run in these shoes, they're gonna fall off."
"Thank you, Nat for telling me. I thought it was to run and catch everybody's attention." Vincent sarcastically chuckled while trying not to trip on his untied shoelaces.
"Shut up." She hissed stepping on his left shoe.
Vincent hit her arm. "Natasha, we've been through this Do. Not. Step on my Nike Air Trainer III's."
"Don't step on my shoes." She mocked.
"Shut up." He huffed.
She smirked. "Make me." That made Vincent speechless till they made it to the Mac store.
"The drive has a Level Six homing program, so as soon as we boot up SHIELD will know exactly where we are." Natasha acquainted.
"How much time do we have?" Steve questioned.
"Uh...about nine minutes from..." She popped the flash drive into a MacBook Pro.
"Now."
"Fury was right about that ship, somebody's trying to hide something. This drive is protected by some sort of AI, it keeps rewriting itself to counter my commands."
Steve looked around the store looking for any Strike agents. "Can you override it?"
"The person who developed this is slightly smarter than me. Slightly."
"Fucking shit," Vincent whispered next to them.
Natasha and Steve both looked at him confused.
He shrugged. "I was so close to the high score on subway surfers." He pointed to the phone.
Natasha continued to try and find out what's on the flash drive. "I'm gonna try running a tracer. This is a program that SHIELD developed to track hostile malware, so if we can't read the file, maybe we can find out where it came from."
"Can I help you guys with anything?" An apple employee asked.
Natasha grabbed Steve's arm. "Oh, no. My fiancé was just helping me with some honeymoon destinations."
"Cool, where-"
"Umm Aaron, do you think you could help me with this?" Vincent asked pointing to a Mac book two down from Natasha and Steve.
"Sure." Aaron followed Vincent to the Mac.
"So I was thinking about buying this, now how would I set it up?"
"The first time your MacBook Air starts up, the Setup Assistant walks you through the simple steps needed to start using your new Mac. Choose a country or region to set the language and time zone for your Mac. You can respond to all the prompts, or skip some and choose "Set up later" when you see that option. For example, it might make sense to set up Apple Pay, which requires a verified credit card, and Screen Time, which you can set for different users, after initial setup. Read on for more information about setup tasks." Aaron explained to a 'trying not to fall asleep' Vincent.
"Thank you. Can I give you my card to pay for it?" He told the employee.
"Yes, you can." Aaron walked to the front of the store and swiped Vincent's card and went to the back and grabbed a bag with a Mac in it. He walked back over to Vincent handed him the bag.
Vincent shook his hand. "Thank you, sir."
"Anytime." Aaron nodded and walked away.
Vincent walked over to Natasha and Steve. "You said nine minutes, come on."
"Shh, relax. Got it."
Vincent scoffed. "Relax? You're telling me to relax are you serious."
The screen zooms in and the signal is coming from Wheaton, NJ. "You know it?" Natasha asked Steve.
"I used to. Let's go." Steve pulled the flash drive from the computer and they walked out of the store.
"Natasha, you own me fucking nine hundred seventy-nine dollars and eighty-six cents for keeping the employee busy."
"I didn't tell you to buy anything."
Vincent scoffed. "How else did expect me to distract him?"
"Standard tac-team. Two behind, to across, two coming straight at us. If they make us, I'll engage, you hit the south escalator to the metro." Steve told them as two agents are coming straight towards them.
"Shut up and put your arm around me, laugh at something I said," Natasha addressed confusing Steve
"What?"
"Do it!" Steve quickly put his arm around Natasha and laughed as Vincent looked down at his shoes making sure there were no smudges.
As they are going down the escalator Natasha spotted Rumlow on the escalator next to them going up, she turned to Vincent knowing if he saw Rumlow it would be it for them.
"Kiss me."
Vincent's eyes widened. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable. Take this Steve." She handed Steve her phone.
"Yeah, I guess they do." She quickly pulled Vincent's jacket collars down to her level so she could reach him, his hands landed on her hips, he felt her arch into his hold.
Rumlow rolled his eyes and looked away as he goes past them on the escalator.
Natasha pulled out of the kiss and started walking off the escalator with the two men following her. "You still uncomfortable?"
"Wishing the escalator was longer." He replied putting his hood on.
Steve handed Natasha her phone back. "I'm glad it's over, those things make me sick."
Vincent chuckled putting an arm around Steve. "Let's go grampa.
____
"So we have to steal a car?" Vincent asked his two superheroes/super-spy best friends...only friends except for Milo.
Natasha pushed a strand of her straight red hair out of her eyes. "Yes."
"And none of you know how to do that?" Vincent snorted.
Steve and Natasha rolled their eyes. "Yes, Vince."
"This is going to be fun I haven't done this sinc-." Vincent cut himself off as he remembered why he stopped.
"Since what?" Natasha questioned.
Vincent shook his head. "Nothing."
____
He watched as a woman parked her Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ. After the woman walked inside the Mall and nobody was around the truck he hotwired the truck, as soon as the truck started Natasha opened the door to the front and climbed in and Steve climbed in the backseat.
"Where did Vincent Lanez learn how to steal a car?" Natasha questioned him.
"My older brother Timothee." Vincent smiled making a right turn. "And we're borrowing. Take your feet off the dash."
Natasha glared at him and took her feet off the dash.
"Timothee?" Steve asked, the whole time he knew Vincent he's never seen or heard about an older brother.
"Uhh, he died a year ago."
Steve frowned. "I-I didn't know, I-I'm sorry."
"It's fine Steve."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Natasha asked frowning.
Vincent sighed. "Because I can barely speak about."
Natasha nodded. "Alright, I have a question for you, oh, which you do not have to answer. I feel like if you don't answer it though, you're kind of answering it, you know?"
"Natasha."
"Was that a bad kiss?" She asked him, taking a drink of a water bottle Vincent had got her from a gas station earlier in the trip.
"No, it was a really good kiss. Why did you think it was a bad kiss?"
"I didn't say it was a bad kiss I asked if it was a bad kiss." She giggled defended herself.
They stopped at a red light and Vincent unbuckled his seat belt, he reached over the armrest console and kissed her.
"Was that a bad kiss?" He asked as he buckled his seatbelt back.
"N-No...No it wasn't." She stammered blushing.
___
Two hours into the trip Steve fell asleep and Natasha was dosing off and on.
"Why don't you go to sleep we have about thirty-two minutes left. I'll wake you when we get there." Vincent told her.
She nodded and grabbed Vincent's right hand that rested the armrest console and held his hand in hers.
Natasha soon fell asleep softly snoring. Vincent would occasionally glance down at the sleeping redhead he adored.
Vincent hopped out of the truck and woke up Steve.
"Son of a gun," Steve mumbled as he was shaken awake, he grabbed his shield and got out of the truck.
Vincent opened the passenger door and pushed a strang of Natasha's hair out of her face. "Natasha, wake up." He spoke softly.
Her eyes slowly opened and she sat up and looked around at their surroundings and shivered. "Vinnie, can I have your jacket?"
"Yeah." He took off his jacket and handed it to her, he helped her out of the truck.
"Thank you." She shivered, putting the jacket over her hoodie.
"This is it," Vincent spoke as he went to shake the gate but Natasha grabbed his arm.
Natasha put her phone in her back pocket. "The file came from these coordinates."
Steve looked at the sign on the gate that read Camp Lehigh. "So did I."
Vincent looked at him bewildered. "You were born here?"
Steve sighed while Natasha smiled.
Later that night as they walked around the base trying to pinpoint where the signal came from. "This camp is where I was trained."
"Now you tell us, after we've been here for forty minutes," Vincent murmured picking up a rock chucking it at a wall.
He and Natasha were walking on a platform while Steve was down on the ground.
Natasha held up her phone looking for a signal. "Changed much?"
"A little." Steve glanced at a camera on a pole.
"I think Steve is in la-la land." Vincent chuckled.
Natasha turned around and glanced at Steve. "Wonder what he's thinking."
"Come on Vinnie boo let's continue looking." She dragged him along with her.
____
Natasha and Vincent walked back to Steve. "This is a dead-end. Zero heat signature, zero waves, not even radio. Whoever wrote the file must have used a router to throw people off." She addressed putting her phone in her back pocket.
Vincent noticed a building ahead of them, he jumped over the railing of the platform walking towards the building.
"What is it?" Natasha questioned as she and Steve walked over to the building.
"Army regulations forbid storing ammunition within five hundred yards of the barracks. This building is in the wrong place." Vincent sighed.
"How do you know that?" Steve asked.
"Army kid."
Vincent stood back and Steve opened the lock with his shield and they entered inside, when they turned on the lights they noticed it's a SHIELD office.
"This is SHIELD." Natasha breathed out.
"Maybe where it started," Steve commented.
Vincent opened a door that entered into a room where they found old framed portraits of Howard Stark, Peggy, Col. Chester Phillips, and Vincent great great great grand father General. Thomas Lanez.
Natasha pointed to an unbalanced picture. "There's Stark's father."
Steve acknowledged. "Howard."
Natasha glanced at Steve. "Who's the girl?" Steve doesn't respond, he turned away and followed Vincent who didn't take interest in the pictures.
Vincent walked further down the room and stopped by a massive bookshelf and noticed a cobweb swaying.
"Fuck this is heavy." He mumbled as he pushed the bookshelf and it slid open to reveal an elevator behind it.
"Elevator?" Steve asked.
Natasha pulled out her phone and scanned the keypad.
She typed the password in and pushed the button it opened to Vincent's surprise the old thing worked.
Steve and Natasha walked into the elevator while Vincent gulped. "Y-You know what I-I'll stay here."
Natasha sighed and grabbed his arm. "Come on scaredy-cat."
They go down the elevator which took them to a room with old looking computers.
The elevator doors opened to a dark room, they walked out of the elevator the doors closed behind them.
Vincent gulped, he turned around and looked at the closed doors. "Oh hell no."
Natasha grabbed his hand to calm him down.
She took a glance around the room. "This can't be the data-point, this technology is ancient."
They walked to what looked like the main console. The lights flickered on. Natasha noticed a small flash drive port, she placed the flash drive in it which then activated the ancient computer.
"Initiate system?" The computer spoke.
Natasha typed using the keyboard. "Y-E-S spells yes. "
Natasha smiled and turned to Steve as the old computer started to cranks up. "Shall we play a game?" It's from a movie that...
"Yeah, I saw it." Suddenly they hear an accented voice speaking.
"Rogers, Steven. Born, 1918. Romanoff, Natalia Alianovna. Born, 1984. Lanez, Vincent. Born, 1990."
They see an old camera moving above them as it analyzed them.
Natasha looked at the camera puzzled. "It's some kind of a recording."
"I am not a recording, Fräulein. I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me, prisoner, in 1945, but I am." The computer screen shows an old photo of Dr. Arnim Zola.
Natasha turned towards Steve. "Do you know this thing?"
"Steve buddy, we need to talk about your friends." Vincent sighed.
Steve walked off the platform looking behind the computer. "Arnim Zola was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull. He's been dead for years."
"First correction, I am Swiss. Second, look around you. I have never been more alive. In 1972 I received a terminal diagnosis. Science could not save my body, my mind, however, that was worth saving on two hundred thousand feet of data banks. You are standing in my brain."
Vincent scoffed. "You weren't very popular as a child where you?"
Steve walked back up where Natasha and Vincent were. "How did you get here?"
"Invited."
"It was Operation Paperclip after World War II. SHIELD recruited German scientists with strategic value." Natasha informed.
"They thought I could help their cause. I also helped my own."
Steve scoffed. "HYDRA died with the Red Skull."
"Cut off one head, two more shall take its place." Vincent could hear the smirk in his voice.
"Prove it." Steve challenged.
"Accessing archive." The computer screen shows them old footage of Johann Schmidt/Red Skull, of how the original SHIELD founders.
"HYDRA was founded on the belief that humanity could not be trusted with its own freedom. What we did not realize, was that if you try to take that freedom, they resist. The war taught us much."
"Holy shit," Vincent mumbled.
"Humanity needed to surrender its freedom willingly. After the war, SHIELD was founded and I was recruited. The new HYDRA grew. A beautiful parasite inside SHIELD. For seventy years HYDRA has been secretly feeding crisis, reaping war. And when history did not cooperate, history was changed."
Natasha walked closer to the screen. "That's impossible, SHIELD would have stopped you."
"Accidents will happen." The computer screen showed them HYDRA had killed Howard and Maria Stark making it look like a car accident along with the recent death of Fury.
"HYDRA created a world so chaotic that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. Once the purification process is complete, HYDRA's new world order will arise. We won, Captain. Your death amounts to the same as your Life; a zero-sum."
In anger, Steve smashed the computer screen.
"As I was saying..." Zola spoke.
"What's on this drive?" Natasha questioned getting frustrated at the computer...or person.
"Project Insight requires insight. So I wrote an algorithm."
Natasha walked closer to the computer screen. "What kind of algorithm? What does it do?"
"The answer to your question is fascinating. Unfortunately, you shall be too dead to hear it."
Natasha looked at Vincent in slight fear of what it meant by 'Too dead to hear it.' As much as she hated to admit but she was scared.
Suddenly the doors started to close, Steve tried to stop it by throwing his shield in between them but he's too late. He ran over to the door and tried to pry it open with his hands but it didn't work it was sealed shut.
"Vince, Steve, we got a bogey. Short-range ballistic. 30 seconds tops." Natasha addressed with worry laced in her voice.
"Who fired it?" Vincent inquired as he looked around the room for an entrance.
"S.H.I.E.L.D."
"I am afraid I have been stalling, Captain. Admit it, it's better this way. We're both of us...out of time." Zola told the three of them.
Vincent noticed a small opening on the ground, he threw the metal door aside and grabbed Natasha, Steve jumped in just as the place exploded and protected them with his shield.
Steve and Vincent managed to get out from under the building rubble just as STRIKE agents arrived to roam the area for them.
"Fuck." Vincent groaned picking a piece of glass out of his leg. He leaned down and picked up Natasha who was out cold.
"Come on we need to hurry," Steve spoke moving rock out of the way.

"She's going to be alright. Right?" Vincent asked Steve who was driving, Vince had sat in the back with Natasha who had her head resting on his lap asleep.
Steve looked in the rearview mirror. "She will be fine, Vince."
Natasha groaned as she regained consciousness. "What happened?" She asked her voice rasper then usual.
"A building fell on us," Steve uttered to her. He looked away from the road just for a split second to look back at the redhead.
"Sure feels like it." She groaned.
She looked down at her waist to see Vincent's left arm resting on her, Natasha noticed something off about it.
She and noticed when he would move his arm a little his body would tense. "What happened to your arm?"
"Nothing." He responded quickly which was a red flag for Natasha.
She reached down and touched his arm, again his body tensed. "I think your arm is broken."
"It's not, It's just sore you landed right on it." Vincent chuckled.
She looked up at him. "Sorry."
"It's fine, I still want you to pay me back."
"I'm not paying you back so get over it," Natasha rolled her eye.
Vincent gave her a playful glare before turning to Steve. "Aye, grampa where are we going?"
"To see a friend."

By the wishes of a few people, here's my advice post about living alone. Keep in mind I'm speaking from the perspective of a canadian urbanite, so this will not apply to absolutely everybody in every kind of culture, economy, living situation, those in rural areas, etc. This also is not assuming wealth disparities are a matter of personal attitude, i KNOW it's complicated. Get back with that shit right now, you know damn well this advice assumes you are able to achieve the financial means to live on your own and is not disparaging anyone who legitimately can't.
Let's cover the basics first.
Source of income:
This seems rather obvious, but your income should be regular and reliably the same or similar on a monthly basis. The most obvious way to achieve this is with a job, and I'm sorry but minimum wage is not going to cut it on your own anymore, which means you're going to have to swallow your pride and accept that you'll likely have to work for some industry or corporation with a dodgy moral record. Get used to it. There is no point in self-flagellation, the world is complicated, just take the 50-60k a year office job, no one actually expects you not to and nobody will hold it against you when the "moral" option is soul-crushing retail. The real world really doesn't give a shit what you have to do to afford a comfortable lifestyle as long as you do what good you can within your abilities, no one in the real world expects you to sacrifice your own wellbeing for a cause.
Salaried positions are your most reliable because you'll always pull the same amount, while hourly pay comes with the ability to pull overtime pay in exchange for more shifts, but if you run out of sick days you'll have to spend the rest of the year taking unpaid time off when you need to call in. Whichever one you choose depends on what's available to you and what's right for you physically and mentally, I can't make that call for you.
You also need a credit card. That is non-negotiable. If you don't have a credit score, you can't sign a lease. Bad credit is better than no credit. We can argue until the cows come home whether or not credit scores are good or bad, but it's just reality that you're going to need one. The good news is it's fairly easy to build credit from no credit: you just have to pay off your credit card in full on time every time. The bad news is it's equally as easy to tank your credit score, you just have to miss one or pay it too late, and it's very hard to build good credit back from bad credit. So don't see it as free money, only spend as much as you can pay back, and if you don't have credit right now, start with small things like lunch and little treats that you immediately pay off.
Looking for a place to live:
Once you have your regular and reliable source of income, you can start looking for your place. There's a few things you should keep in mind:
-Draw up a budget for how much you can spend on rent and bills. That includes all basic living expenses: rent, utilities, food, internet, phone, hygiene. Compare how much you make per month to what you can spend. 1/3 to 1/2 of your salary is a bit more realistic to expect to spend on rent alone nowadays, so work within that range when you apartment hunt. Think of everything when you're budgeting, like how much do you spend on haircuts per month? You probably didn't think of that, because I didn't either at first.
-Apartment buildings with some/all utilities included often have higher base rents. You have to keep in mind that this is so the landlord can balance out the utility bills of the whole building, which are unpredictable expenses and on them to pay every month. If you don't know how to budget yet or don't know how to do so with unpredictable bills, I highly recommend trying to find a place with utilities included so you know EXACTLY how much you'll need to pay every month and can plan in advance
-Older buildings tend to be both cheaper and more likely to have centralized utility systems, which means they have to include it in the price of rent because there's no way to tell who used how much of something. If it's your first place alone, you'll probably be tempted to get the brand new, expensive building down the road, but it won't actually make much of a difference when you move in. You will love it regardless.
-Never ever sign a lease until you've either seen THE unit you're considering, or one of the show units that is exactly the same layout. The last thing you want is to go off online photos only to move in and find out the building has a mold problem. You can arrange personal tours by contacting the building manager or the landlord directly. Phone calls are the best way to do this.
-If you want the unit after seeing it, you know you can afford it, there's nothing funny about the place, apply IMMEDIATELY. Places are usually on the market for a few days before they're snapped up by a new tenant, you have to strike while the iron's hot.
-If you've decided on the place you want and had your application accepted, read the lease carefully before you sign. Many places require tenant insurance that meet specific policy requirements, have registration rules about long-term guests, outline how the parking works, quiet hours, smoking rules, mail, laundry, all the way down to what kind of barbecues are allowed on your deck in the case of mine (I am in a wildfire danger zone, so any types that produce embers are strictly prohibited for fire safety reasons). Ask any question that comes to mind about the lease. Not everything in a lease is some human rights violation just because you don't like landlords, keep in mind you're living in the same building as dozens of other people, so there has to be ground rules established for everyone's sanity.
-Internet is often not considered a utility so you'll have a hard time finding any place that includes it. You can arrange to have your wifi set up in advance of a moving date on a specific time and date, do this right after you sign a lease so you don't forget. They won't charge you until you're actually hooked up to the network.
-If your utilities are NOT included, get those set up in advance too. The main ones are HVAC, water, and electricity. The companies that do this vary depending on where you live and what's available, so shop around online once you've signed your lease and sign up as soon as possible. The last thing you want is to forget this and then move into a dark freezing apartment with no water.
Budgeting:
After your living expenses are covered, you should have a comfortable amount of financial wiggle room leftover. If you wouldn't, the place you're looking at is either too expensive, or you're being overcharged elsewhere. It's completely normal for living expenses to take up most of your budget these days, you're doing just fine in the same boat as everybody else if that's the case, so don't panic yet. If you have absolutely NOTHING leftover though, then you're out of your price range.
You also need to set money aside for fun and saving. Do not forego fun money, your brain will try to kill you with hammers and knives if you never get or do things for yourself. And if you're on your own, you're the only one providing that for yourself now. And a solid building base of savings will only help you in the future, whether you lose your job, have an emergency, or even need a down payment on a house later in life. Don't be a doomer about your circumstances or the socioeconomic and generational cards that were dealt to you, chip away at it a little at a time. And don't fall for social media's insistence that anybody with anything at all is some bourgeois degenerate or that being fortunate enough to be able to have upward mobility makes you some ultra wealthy shithead, working towards a comfortable standard of living for yourself does not make you a rich elite or a bad person. You're working towards the standard we should all live as, not exploiting the poor or being a class traitor. I feel the need to add that last part since we're on the website of "struggling art students in NYC are bourgeois that are just bad with money and having a gaming computer makes you upper middle class." Don't listen to a word any of those people say, I know it comes from a place of very real hurt and pain for them but that doesn't make it grounded in absolute reality for absolutely everybody.
Social needs:
If you're by yourself, there's gonna be a lot more work you have to put in for your social and entertainment needs. I can not stress enough how important it is to give this the time and work it needs, do not neglect this.
Lots of libraries have clubs you can join that will get you out of the house and meeting new people regularly. They're either free or very inexpensive. This is a great place to start.
Take advantage of technology we have now. Hop on discord calls more frequently, make sure you're talking to your friends on the regular and try to make plans as much as you can.
Also, I advise finding lots of things you can do by yourself. You will be spending way more time alone than you ever have before, so find single-person hobbies. Go thrifting, get into knitting, go explore the city, read lots of books, do puzzles, just don't lock yourself inside all day in your free time. Even if you're doing it alone, going out and seeing that the world is bigger than your apartment and your workplace is very good for you.
Misc advice:
You don't need a conventional coffee pot maker. Single serving will suit you just fine.
Cleaning is easier when you have a routine. It doesn't all have to be done on the same day of the week, but having a regular schedule of what gets cleaned when for non-daily chores will help you keep on top of it. And please, god, don't neglect your cleaning and hygiene just because no one lives with you to see it. On that note, spray bottle all purpose cleaners are your best friend for daily spot cleaning and you should deep clean your washroom around every 2 weeks in my experience since that's where you'll be doing most of your personal hygiene. Also make your damn bed, yes you'll just get back into it at the end of the day but having a major part of your space neat and tidy will do wonders for your mental health.
Don't buy the cheap garbage bags. Some things you really do want the expensive shit for.
If you don't have a car, delivery service/rideshare subscriptions ARE worth it and legitimately economical in the long run. I do wanna circle back to square one and say that yes, most of them like prime and uber do have dodgy moral records, but sometimes you just gotta swallow your pride and accept that. Once again, no one in the real world expects you to spend your entire day on public transit looking for toilet paper that isnt 30 dollars a pack or lugging 50 pounds of groceries back on a bus just for a cause. It's not the fault of someone who needs these services for their quality of life that they do the things they do, don't put that responsibility on your or other's shoulders when the fault lies at the top of the corporate ladder.
When you're budgeting for living expenses, expect your income to be at the lowest and your expenses to be at the highest. I expect 2 call ins per month and to need to spend the max amount i have on groceries every time, that way I never fall short and never have to cut into my savings that I've dubbed my "oh shit, I'm broke" money. Your emergency reserve may look tempting to you, but as someone who has been in a position where they had to drain it to nothing in the past because of an unforeseen financial emergency, you REALLY are gonna want that untouched if and when shit hits the fan. Life is unpredictable, prepare to roll with the punches so they don't knock you out.
