Oh, I have plenty of east Asian faceclaims for the Targaryen women, anon! I will note, though, that I think that for some of them, their hair would be silvery/a lighter shade of blonde than shown in the photos. (I did try to pick out ones where the people in question have dyed their hair a lighter color, but not all of them have such photos.) Also, I unfortunately don’t have a faceclaim for every single one of the lovely Targaryen women. They all own my heart though <3

Taeyeon = Dany

She’s undoubtedly my favorite Dany faceclaim. Although, she’d have to be older!Dany (Queen of the Seven Kingdoms ofc, happy with her beloved consort Jon and her three dragon boys) since Dany is currently so young.

IV. DRIFTMARK

when a raven came announcing the death of harwin strong, visenya was with rhaenyra

"īles vala hen rigle," [he was a man of honour.] she admitted as a consolation to her grieving sister, "se iā sȳz kepa." [and a good father.]

that day, visenya ruminated in her chamber, late at night, at last calling upon one of her trusted servants;

"send this letter to you know who. tell him his princess will be especially generous if he does his job well."

that's how she found herself on driftmark with a small piece of parchment slipped into her hands just before the funeral of her friend laena

visenya excused herself briefly from conversation with a distant relative, finding a vacant spot where she wouldn't be disturbed

"bona orvorta..." [that cunt] she whispered as her eyes traced the two words the message contained;

"larys strong"

during the funeral, visenya stood by her sister's right side, quietly observing the people present

when she heard daemon's laughter, it took everything in her not to throw his way a disgusted look

once the procession was over and everyone gathered on the castle's terrace, visenya noticed her little cousins, baela and rhaena, sitting with their grief, away from everyone

"i am deeply sorry about your mother," she approached them, "she had a kind heart...and held much love for you." the two princesses thanked her with their eyes full of sadness

"when i was around your age, she gave me this," she opened up her palm, revealing a delicate set of penchant and comb, both symbolizing a dragon and a seahorse. "i believe it's time i pass them on to another who can honor them."

from afar, rhaenys noticed the princess gently putting a comb into rhaena's velaryon hair and then turning to baela with a penchant, clasping it around her granddaughter's neck

aside from the gaze of the queen who never was, visenya was stalked by another pair of watchful eyes

when she turned around, taking her leave, visenya met aemond's intense stare as he approached her

no one knows what the two of them spoke about on that day, but one thing they did remember - later that day, aemond claimed a dragon and lost an eye for it

"i shall have one of her son's eyes in return," alicent proclaimed, rising her chin

"over my dead fucking body," visenya spat as she unleashed a sword she had hidden underneath her skirts, tilting it downward and leaning onto it

alicent's reaction was one of horror, but before she could say anything, her husband, the king, intervened

later that night, servants whispered that when the queen demanded criston cole bring her the eye of lucerys velaryon, he looked upon visenya's sword and disobeyed the command.

V. OF HOUSE TARGARYEN

to say that visenya was displeased at her uncle's intention to marry her sister was an understatement

and yet, because of her love for rhaenyra, she gritted her teeth and gave them her blessing

to this day, some people believe that visenya allowed for such a union to happen because she realized that daemon, as the heir's husband, would be a powerful ally if anyone were to challenge her sister's claim, all the while satiating his thirst for power

and they might be right

and so visenya stood on the moors of dragonstone with her nephews and cousins, holding them close, as her sister and uncle exchanged vows

not long after the union, urgent news reached dragonstone

"luke's claim to driftmark is being challenged," visenya told her older nephew. "what are we to do now?" asked jace, anxiety creeping up his spine.

"jī naejot dāro vilinion." [we are going to king's landing.]

the city's foul smell hit her as soon as she landed. vermithor roared, obviously as much displeased as she. "lykīri," visenya commanded, petting him

as she entered the red keep, visenya couldn't help but notice the seven pointed star installed above the entrance

"what the fuck is that."

before she could ruminate on it any further, visenya heard silent cries somewhere in the distance

it was one of the maids from the red keep, she found out

"what is the meaning of this? why are you crying?" her eyebrows furrowed at the sight of a teary-eyed young girl

"i am... sorry, princess..." she managed to say through the sobs

visenya's quick eyes noticed clumsily hidden bitemarks, scratches and bruises all over her body

"who hurt you?" she whispered, taking the girl's hand in hers

"'tis...nothing...i swear, princess," the maid stuttereed, making visenya sigh in frustration

"what is your name, sweet girl?" she asked, this time more gently than before

"dyana, my princess."

"BY THE OLD GODS OF VALYRIA, i swear i will cut off aegon's cock," she barged into her sister's quarters. whilst rhaenyra looked at her sister with surprise, daemon only laughed at her rage. "and his balls too. that..." she struggled to find the word, "...that dimwit shouldn't procreate."

to cool off, she decided to accompany her nephews to the training yard

"everyone's staring at us," luke murmured with a pained look on his face

"as they should. jace is your mother's future heir, you are the future lord of the tides and i ride the second largest dragon in the world. it would be strange if they didn't," visenya smiled at him, but it didn't seem to soothe him as much as she would like

"no one would question me being heir to driftmark if..." he paused, looked around and then continued in a hushed voice, "if i looked more like ser laenor velaryon than ser harwin strong." her smile quickly dropped. "it doesn't matter what they think. their opinions are of no value," she replied sternly.

suddenly, a thud reverberated throughout the training yard and the two boys, excited, decided to find its source

it was aemond and cole, duelling

visenya wasn't half as enraptured as her nephews at the sight, but decided to let them savor the moment

when aemond won, people clapped and cheered, making visenya sneer at their sycophancy

"well done, my prince," praised cole, "you'll be winning tourneys at no time." visenya wanted to punch his face. hard. she had always disliked dornishmen, but there was something about criston cole that made him especially disagreeable in visenya's eyes

"i don't give a shit about tourneys," aemond spat with a stoic face, not putting his sword down, "nephews..." his gaze shifted to where she and the boys stood, "have you come to train?"

before any one of them could reply, the gates opened and through them passed vaemond velaryon with his men

"gods," she thought to herself, "this place is littered with dickheads."

once the gates had closed and vaemond was nowhere in sight, visenya spoke up

"it is i who came to train..." all the heads turned to her in disbelief as she unsheathed her sword, digging it into ground gently as she leaned on it, "aemond."

visenya couldn't have known that that single movement forced aemond to reminisce about the night he lost his eye - the night she defended luke and jace, threatening to kill anyone who dared touch them, even though they were in the wrong

it was the night when aemond got renounced by everyone, but in a way, her betrayal stung the most in his heart

since early youth, he heard stories of visenya, the paragon of targaryen bloodline - living in their ancestral home, mounting the second largest dragon at the age of barely nine, being fluent in both language and history of her ancestors - in aemond's eyes, she had it all

visenya was the bane of aemond's existence; not a day had passed without him thinking about how he could measure up to his half-sister

the only thing aemond despised more than visenya was his admiration of, and struggle to be more like, her

of course, visenya had no knowledge of any of this - perhaps if she knew, she would detest him a little less

"hm," aemond eyed her from head to toe without an ounce of emotion, and then took his leave, not looking back at the three of them

when the driftmark succession was to be settled the next day, mushroom recounted visenya standing behind rhaenyra as if her shadow, brows furrowed and gaze sharp the moment otto hightower sat upon the iron throne

what he also couldn't help but mention was that whilst the red keep whispered about daemon's execution of vaemond, no one saw rhaenyra's silent command to visenya to not draw her sword

that evening, the whole targaryen family gathered for a supper

visenya's seat was opposite her sister's, flanked by jace and, much to her dismay, aegon

the servants dared not speak about it, but when queen alicent, in her piety, included vaemond in her prayers, daemon and visenya exchanged looks, snickering under their breaths

after the toasts had been proposed and music started to play, visenya watched with a hint of smile on her face her nephew and half-sister dancing joyfully

her smile faltered, however, when she saw aemond's outstreched hand, "may i, princess?" he muttered in a low baritone

visenya looked at her sister, seeking her silent counsel; only after rhaenyra's eyes glinted with a subtle approval did she take aemond's hand

back then, no one knew that the next time the two of them would dance, it would be in the skies

when the king left and music ended, aemond reached towards his cup, proposing a toast

the quarrel that followed was quickly dispelled by daemon; once visenya made sure her nephews were unharmed, she left them to their devices as they sulked

instead, the princess approached her half-sister, haelena

that night, as mysaria's spy told her of the royal supper, she didn't fail to mention visenya holding her half-sister's hands lovingly, telling haelena that there would always be a place for her at dragonstone

visenya was ready to take her leave when one of the maids came to fetch her at the king's command

"my daughter..." viserys breathed out, as if every syllable caused him immense pain

"i am here, father," she said with her eyes blank

"aegon...the conqueror...." he closed his one good eye for a second, "he withstood...because of visenya."

"why are you telling me this?" she asked, confused

"your sister is the heir. once the time comes..." he hissed and took a long moment to continue, unnerving his daughter even more, "she will need… protection,” he pointed his finger at something in the distance

visenya would've dismissed it if it weren't for the slight red glow that captured her attention

in between ragged breaths and incomplete sentences, viserys gave his second daughter the sword that maegor stole from his father's funeral pyre; the sword that rhaena targaryen gave to her son jaehaerys who passed it on to viserys

now, blackfyre —the sword of kings past— belonged to visenya targaryen, whom people would soon come to know as aegon with teats.

I believe that Valyrians of old practised equal primogeniture, and the only thing an heir had to be was a dragonrider. Think about it. They practice incest, so the eldest (say, a daughter) inheriting meant that the firstborn son (say, the second eldest) would be a ruler anyway. Why overlook the dragonriding daughter for a dragonriding son when they'd both end up rulers anyway?

Also, in Old Valyrian, the world's "prince" "princess", and "heir" are all the same: dārilaros, as in, it isn't gendered. This is the biggest clue that they practised equal primogeniture in Valyria and likely gave that up in Westeros to please the misogynistic bastards there.

Also, they were in close proximity to the Rhoynar, and they are confirmed to practice equal primogeniture.

From what we know, Visenya was a warrior and this was accepted by her father and brother-husband as normal. She rode a dragon, which is, again, their normal. It's also heavily implied that Aegon wed Visenya to strengthen his claim to dragonstone, meaning she was the named heir of their father as the eldest no matter her gender.

The Targaryens conceeded a lot when they became Kings and Queens, one being their faith (as far as we know; they could have secretly worshipped the 14 flames of Old Valyria) and they had to have a literal contract written by Jaehaerys and the Faith to be able to continue intermarrying to keep the bloodline pure.

From this, we can extrapolate that Valyrians likely practiced equal primogeniture and it was Jaehaerys, whose best friend was a Septon, who began the trend of being a misogynistic piece of shit to the women of House Targaryen, what with how he disregarded a lot of what Alysanne said to him, disinherited Rhaenys, and allowed Lord's not of House Targaryen to choose the heir to the throne rather than let Rhaenys inherit. He also treated his daughters like absolute shit, calling Saera a whore and barely mourning Viserra, etc.

I definitely think that Jaehaerys, due to his trauma from Maegor, was slowly manipulated by Septon Barth and the men he surrounded himself with to see women as less than, and he alone planted the seeds of rebellion by giving the lords a choice in who would inherit after him when they never should have had the option because in the world of ice and fire the monarchy is absolute and the King's word is absolute law.

Jaehaerys' many mistakes gave the Hightowers a foothold and meant that the realm would undoubtedly be split when it came to the Dance because a previous king (jaehaerys) planted doubts. And also Otto schemed and plotted with alicent and likely the maesters and faith.

In naming Rhaenys heir, Jaehaerys would then have to answer the question as to why he took the throne when Rhaena and Aerea were still alive and the wife and daughter of the last King (Aegon). Jaehaerys was, in actual fact, a usurper if you looked at it at a certain point of view.

The Rightful line of succession should have gone like this going by cannon deaths etc

Aenys > Rhaena > Aerea (died)> Rhaella (if she gave up her septas's vows), or Jaehaerys > daenerys (she died young) > aemon > rhaenys > laena (dies) > Baela (jacaerys as consort) > their firstborn > so on and so forth

But it didn't. Because jaehaerys is a cunt, and so are the women hating, misogynistic andals + faith and maesters.

no i have a outline for this very silly conflict. buckle up under the readmore this is barely hinged and deeply unserious

so.

- Queen Rhaena (the lesbian) dies, names Saera as her successor at the last minute which no one wants to honor.

- Starts with Rhaenys on dragonstone, Baelon in KL, and Saera in Volantis headed to KL.

- Baelon still gets appendicitis and dies pretty early but everyone thinks it’s some kind of treachery.

- The war officially starts when Damon Targaryen runs into Corlys at Riverrun, trying to negotiate a betrothal between his daughter and some Muppet to back Rhaenys for the throne. fresh off of losing his father and currently consolidating support for his brother, Daemon wants someone to blame and kills Corlys.

- Daemon and Aegon (Viserys I) try to jump Rhaenys at Rook’s Rest, but she gets her way out of the trap and manages to take down Aegon’s dragon and severely injure him in the process. Aegon goes back to KL to rule and protect his daughter Rhaenyra, Daemon spends the rest of the time flying around the riverlands and lighting stuff on fire.

- while all of this is happening, there’s also an extended naval conflict between the Targannister faction, which exists, Viserra has a dragon(this is my mind palace i make the rules) and the Saera chaos faction. Two battles there:

1. combined Greyjoy/Triarchy chaos faction, almost successfully take Casterly Rock while Viserra is down by the gullet and little Jaeson (lol) tries to flee on his dragon at which point Saera’s daughter Aerea takes him down. However he just barely survives even though he loses his dragon, and the last man ended up killing Aerea, who is pinned down in enemy territory in the keep.

2. While trying to break the Triarchy blockade of the Gullet for her nephew who holds King’s Landing, Viserra and Saera have a dragon fight. Balerion is old and slow and unwieldy: takes a few scorpion bolts meant for Vermithor and goes down. Viserra and a severely injured Vermithor go down as well, some historians argue she was trying to save her drowning sister. Who knows.

- With both other factions, looking pretty bad, Rhaenys takes King’s Landing: Aegon (Viserys I) dies here, but his 10-year-old daughter Rhaenyra is able to see the city on her dragon. However, Syraxis very young at the time and takes a few hits which get infected and dies right after they makes it to the Eyrie.

- Daemon and Rhaenys kill each other over the gods eye on their parents’ dragons.

- Some variation of the storming of the dragonpit happens. Laenor and Laena successfully flee to Dragonstone, but Silverwing and Seasmoke do not :(

- No longer worried about being burned by Daemon. The Riverlands, Crownlands, and Stormlands forces are able to muster enough troops to actually get to Kings Landing and restore order.

- The war ends when they put Laenor on the throne. it ends with the wedding of Laenor and Rhaenyra to create some form of stability after everything.

- They have three kids “together.” Baela the Bdefiant, future mother of Daena Darksister, Jakey who dies in dorne with cregan stark, and Joffrey the religious freak.

- Laena stays in KL and later becomes master of coin.

- Saera’s son Viserys II is in Volantis and comes to King’s Landing with his wife Larra Rogare and their son Aegon to serve as Laenor and Jake and Joffrey’s hand after they extend an olive branch.

- The Targannister kids technically survived but lose their dragons so they’re just sort of like well you guys didn’t see any of that. we’re just lannisters now.

A white woman and a black man can completely give birth to white children and not necessarily mixed race or black. I know it, I know some people around me. It’s still crazy.

There is no proof, even in the show, that the Velaryon boys are not Laenor's !

Even the boys' hair could have been assigned to Rhaenys' side if they had kept her original hair.

The book should also take into account the fact that it was stylized to look like it was written by supporters of the Greens. So the claims that Rhaenyra's children were legally born may be just that, because although they had dark hair and eyes, we don't know what Aemma or her father looked like, and the fact that they supposedly resembled Harvin may have been exaggerated or untrue.

And honestly? I have no idea how genetics work in this world. If all of House Velaryon are black, and the "proof" that Leanor's children are bastards is that they are white, then why is Jaehaerys, whose mother was House Velaryon, completely white? Jaehaerys is 1/2 Velaryon, as is Laena. And genetics worked like this:

And if only Corlys' mother was black because she came from the Summer Isles, then Rhaena and Baela only have 1/8 black genes and even though the Targaryen genes are supposed to be dominant (but only in marriages, it doesn't work in bastards, lol), and yet their appearance is more indicative of House Velaryon as a whole black skinned. But this in turn contradicts the fact that Aegon, Rhaenys and Visenya's mother was also from House Velaryon, so subsequent generations should also be mixed. And if they aren't, does that mean that Targaryen traits are more dominant? But - again - only in marriage?

Your mother died a dragonrider's death.

That was Daemon Targaryen told his daughters that night after he returned without Laena by his side.

Visenya, Baela and Rhaena had stayed together the whole night, finding comfort with each other after their mother and unborn sibling's death.

Daemon stayed the whole night with them as the girls cried themselves to sleep.

It had to be a bad dream, Visenya hoped.

But it wasn't.

She and her sisters woke up in a heavy heart.

Their mother wasn't around anymore.

She was dead.

She wasn't coming back.

Laena wasn't there to greet them every morning, giving them kisses on the top of their heads, helping them with their hair, laughing...

She was gone.

Visenya couldn't clear those words from her mind for days. Not when they left Essos.

Not when they reached to Driftmark.

Not while Laena's mother, Rhaenys pulled her and her sisters in a hug to comfort them.

Not in the funeral...

Laena Velaryon was gone.

And she won't return.

At the funeral, Daemon's youngest daughters escaped from his side to be with their grandparents, even if they didn't know them well. Visenya, on the other hand, held on to her father's hand, as she watched Ser Vaemond turn towards Princess Rhaenyra.

She turned to look as well.

Princess Rhaenyra's sons, Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon, didn't look like Velaryons, like Baela and Rhaena did. Nor like Visenya. They looked nothing like their father, or their mother for that matter.

When Vaemond bashed how Velaryon blood was true and old, everyone looked at Rhaenyra and Visenya's father had laughed, taken away the attention.

After the funeral, Daemon took Visenya with him to the balcony where everyone were eating and drinking, remembering Laena as Baela and Rhaena sat on a bench.

"How long are we going to be here?" Visenya asked softly.

Daemon looked down at her and leaned against the wall. "A couple of days, perhaps. However, your grandparents wish for us to stay a little longer. I'll find us somewhere to stay."

Visenya nodded lightly and glanced around. She straighten up when she saw Queen Alicent approaching them with her knight, Ser Criston Cole trailing behind her.

Daemon followed her gaze and his jaw clenched by the sight of his good-sister. "My Prince," the queen greeted and her eyes landed down at his daughter. "Princess Visenya."

Visenya bowed softly, "Your Grace." Alicent's eyes soften more, and she smiled softly, "How you have grown." She looked from her to Daemon, "I am very sorry for your loss."

Daemon gave a small hum and Ser Criston clenched his jaw. Visenya looked from her father to the Queen, "Thank you, Your Grace," she said softly.

Alicent placed her hands on Visenya's arms, "My daughter, Helaena, is around your age, you used to share a nursery when you were at the Keep."

Visenya looked toward three of the four children of the Queen. Aegon had been few years older, but much taller, and Helaena was looking through the stones for bugs while Aemond stood with his brother.

"I shall say hello to her, Your Grace," Visenya said as she looked at the Queen. Alicent smiled softly and gave a small nod. With that, Visenya bowed to her and glanced at her father before she walked toward the princes and princess.

Helaena was looking at what seemed to be a spider, speaking in riddles. Aegon groaned and walked away from them all as he looked at Helaena.

She cleared her throat and he turned to her, standing straight. "Hello," she said, deciding to turn to Aemond since Helaena seemed to be occupied.

"Hello," he said. "I'm Visenya," Visenya introduced herself.

Aemond gave a small nod, "Aemond," he said looking a little cautious. His nephews and big brother had not been good company over the years in his childhood, he had been the butt of their pranks and jokes simply for not having a dragon, he didn’t want to add another person to that.

"You're Prince Daemon's daughter, aren't you?" Aemond asked.

Visenya nodded, "And you're the King's son, so it makes us cousins."

The roar of Vhagar was suddenly heard and everyone looked up to see the large dragon interrupting everyone's thoughts. "She's mourning," Visenya said. "Vhagar."

"Is she yours now?" Aemond asked.

Visenya shook her head, "No, I... I do not have a dragon, to be honest," she said sadly.

Aemond seemed surprise, "You too?" he asked quietly.

Visenya nodded, "I guess you do have one as well?" Aemond shook his head, "Do you want to claim Vhagar?" he asked, wondering why she wouldn't have claimed such a mighty dragon.

Visenya shrugged lightly, "I didn't felt it was right to claim her right after she lost her rider. My mother. Step-mother, to be honest," she confessed, "And my father didn't let me get near Vhagar since mother died, so..."

Aemond nodded and looked down before at her, "I, uh, I'm sorry, about..."

Visenya nodded, and gave him a small smile, "Thank you," she said softly.

They heard Daemon calling for Visenya and she turned back to Aemond, promising they would speak later. Aemond nodded and watched her go back to her father's side before looking out to the shores.

Fucking hell.

First off: I find it interesting the anon doesn't acknowledge that Laena x Daemon is also incest. Sure, she's not his niece, but she is still related to him. They love projecting their insecurities about their ship onto daemyra.

Second: yeah, HoTD choosing to make the Velaryons black then sidelining them massively is shitty and, sure, could be interpreted as racist. However, how is that Rhaenyra's fault? She didn't make Daemon marry Laena when he couldn't have her neither did she kill Laena. Condal and Hess chose to write out Laena's relevance (which already wasn't much outside of being Daemon's wife and Baela and Rhaena's mother) in order to give Alicent more screen time. But again, that's neith Rhaenyra's nor Emma D'Arcy's fault, stop blaming them (also Emma is good at playing Rhaenyra as she is written, the only issues are the writing, which aren't their fault). Op also chose to ignore the fact that Daemon actually is confirmed by GRRM himself to have loved Rhaenyra the most.

Moving on, once again the Rhaenyra antis are bringing up how Rhaenyra isn't "feminist". Literally no one in F&B is feminist by our modern definition. Visenya and Rhaenys are probably the closest, and even then, they aren't writing feminist manifestos (which apparently Rhaenyra is expected to for some reason). Alysanne, the most proactive queen regent, still enforced arranged marriages on her daughters and granddaughters. Rhaenys didn't advocate for Laena's right of succession in the book and in the show refused to support Rhaenyra long before Laenor's "death". Her antis hold Rhaenyra to unfair and unrealistic standards while making excuses for or ignoring other characters who don't meet them.

In that same vein, I still can't get over how Rhaenyra antis will say that TG aren't the conservative group. They say Rhaenyra isn't a feminist and that TG, the ones who are obsessed with male primogeniture and believe being gay, a sexually liberated woman, a child born out of wedlock, or not adhering to the equivalent of the Catholic Church make someone subhuman are the "progressive" group. It's delusion at its finest. Alicent and the greens are misogynistic and, because of them, women's rights in Westeros ended up more repressed than ever.

The fact that the op says that Visenya and Queen Rhaena are acceptable shows they have no understanding for TG or F&B. First off, TG would never support either woman. Visenya was hated by the Faith and most of the Lord's of Westeros, she was a warrior accused of witchcraft and dared to interfere with the misogynistic customs alongside Rhaenys. Rhaena was gay, something she wasn't allowed to live fully because the Targaryens chose to conform to Westerosi ideals. She was also robbed of her inheritance, even Jaehaerys acknowledged that Rhaena was the rightful heir, just as Aegon acknowledged Rhaenyra was.

As for the racist allegations, those come exclusively from Mushroom, someone who is far from a reliable source. Mushroom invented an entire woman to try to add "spice" to Jacaerys' story: Sara Snow. A woman of whom there is no record of, even though she was raised in Winterfell and supposedly married Jace. If Mushroom is willing to make up a whole ass woman to make the story more dramatic, why should we trust anything he says?

Yes, Rhaenyra ordered Nettles' execution, but that was because of her rumored relationship with Daemon and Rhaenyra's paranoia which had grown massively since Hugh Hammer and Ulf White's betrayal. Was it just? No. Was it racially motivated? According to Mushroom, maybe, but looking at Rhaenyra's character, it doesn't make sense.

Moving on, what exactly does op mean by "she's done too many things to claim she's been wrongly framed by the narrative"? By the time Nettles comes along, Rhaenyra hasn't done much that could be considered reprehensible. Op seems to have an issue with Vaemond's death, which Rhaenyra did order in the book. They seem to think that Vaemond "rightfully called her out" and was wrongfully killed.

She ordered Vaemond's execution after he declared her sons bastards in order to challenge Corlys' decision regarding succession. Keep in mind, Vaemond in the book is Corlys' nephew, not his brother, which moves him even farther down the line of succession. Vaemond not only was putting Rhaenyra and her sons in danger but was also trying to usurp all of Corlys' line, including Baela and Rhaena, who op seems to like a lot.

Yeah Rhaenyra is much harsher in F&B, but that hardly makes her evil and irredeemable. Queens Visenya and Rhaena were both harsh and even cruel sometimes, yet op doesn't think they're irredeemable monsters.

I do agree with op's anger over the sidelining of the Velaryons, as I said earlier, but taking it out on Rhaenyra is completely uncalled for. Rhaenyra wasn't a monster, anyone who believes that has frighteningly little reading comprehension. Rhaenyra's reign would have greatly helped women's standings in Westeros and pushed along gender equality. Ignoring that fact and blatantly saying the greens aren't supporting the repressive patriarchy is delusional and idiotic. The greens' actions were damaging in every way. Vaemond was far from an innocent victim, he was power hungry and misogynistic in both the show and the book. Keep your angry focused on the right people, don't take it out on a woman who had her whole life destroyed by the patriarchy.

Corlys Velaryon
