my mom: I watched this show but it just had such a sad ending. I was hooked, especially on this specific relationship.
me, riding shotgun and already opening ao3: What's the show and relationship?
my mom: [i don't remember lol]
me: Cool, here's four fics with fix-it.
my mom: What?
me, remembering my audience and frantically deleting browser history: What?

Pretty much. The New York Times is leaning again into that pseudo-intellectual stuff. And the reason a lot of younger people aren't having children is down to money. While you get people like Musk and so on saying how important it is to have more children... well, it's easy for billionaires to say that, even while they make our lives harder. And then they'll come out with their white replacement eugenics bs.

The point is, education in its truest form, is the foundation of all human endeavors. It is the most noble of all the civilized elements of human consciousness. Education enables the humans to achieve their fullest mental and physical potential in both personal and social life. The ability of being educated is what distinguishes humans from animals. You can teach a cockatoo to repeat a bunch of vocabularies, but you cannot teach it to construct a space shuttle and go to the moon.

looking at the amount of orphans out there i consider making biological children in general quite egoistic, i mean it is because you want a mini version of yourself and you have a vision of having a family and that's it - whilst adopting kids is to help them
and what i consider especially egoistic is going out of your way to have biological kids by things like in vitro or whatever - you try so hard to have a biological kid while there are so many orphans who desperately need parents - what is the difference between a bio child and adopted one? the only difference is that it has your genes and looks like you
like sure, nothing wrong with having biological kids but you cannot convince me that it's not egoistic

This isn’t a tra receipt but I had to share because this is gross. For context, this was on a post calling out surrogacy and its exploitative nature.
What an awful way to talk about children who are adopted, not to mention the shade to adoptive parents. You should want to have a child because you want to love them and take care of them, not because you want a mini-me or because you want them to look like you🙄

Newsflash!!! If your doctor says your baby has "gonads" that need removal or that there is a genital "deformity" these words are code for intersex baby. REFUSE UROLOGY SURGERY FOR YOUR INFANT UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE IT WILL EFFECT YOUR BABY IN THE NEXT YEAR. sometimes urethras are blocked or there's legitimate impact to functionality. Otherwise almost always surgery can wait till your child is old enough to understand what is happening. As someone who went through pediatric urology- you don't want them operating unless it's 100% necessary. The procedures are gruesome and traumatic (and often not anesthetized) most people use it as a first resort when surgery should ALWAYS be a last resort especially for minors.

Hello,
For those who don’t know me, my name is Alaa. I’m a husband and a father from Gaza, and I’m so grateful to be raising two beautiful children, Maram, our lovely 6-year-old daughter, and Ayman, our energetic 3-year-old boy. We are also eagerly anticipating the arrival of our third child, a baby girl, who is due in just a couple of months. My wife is seven months pregnant, and while we’re filled with excitement, we’re also feeling the weight of the challenges ahead.
One of the things we’ve been discussing is what to name our new daughter. We wanted something that feels similar to Maram, but we’re still undecided. There are so many lovely names that could be perfect for her, and we’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice.
That said, choosing a name is the least of our worries right now. The reality of preparing for our baby’s arrival in the middle of a war is overwhelming. We have no baby clothes, no mattress, and with the current war, basic necessities like diapers and baby formula have become unaffordable for us.
I’m thrilled and thankful that we’re expecting a new addition to our family, but as a father, the fear and worry about how we’ll care for her, along with our two other children, are constant. We are displaced from our home, I’ve lost my job, and our savings have run out. Every day, I wonder how I will protect and provide for my family in these impossible circumstances.
This is why I’m reaching out to you. We want to give our daughter the best start we can, but we can’t do it alone. If you’re able, please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign or sharing our story with your friends and family. Any support, no matter how small, will make a world of difference to us during this incredibly difficult time.
✅️ My campaign is vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #252 ) ✅️

"For good" meaning that you had a reasonable expectation that you wouldn't be moving back in with your parents later. For example:
If you moved to college but still returned to your parents' home in between terms, that would NOT count as "for good."
If you moved out expecting it to be "for good" but later had to move back in due to extenuating circumstances (e.g. you lost your job or your housing), count the FIRST time you originally moved out "for good."
We ask your questions so you don’t have to! Submit your questions to have them posted anonymously as polls.
