welcome to the "charlie invites the sins to a party/ball thing so they can meet vaggie" saga aka the chaggie fizzmodeus crossover

I present, Myrtha, the second of the captains for the Nephilim AU that will appear in Truth Beneath the Rose. She is the captain modeled after the fallen seraphim, Carmilla Carmine. Of the trio, she represents combat prowess and strength, shown further with how her sword/weapon of choice is a claymore/great sword.

Also, because Clara and Odette are named after protagonists, I took a different turn with Myrtha's name. Her's is a character from the ballet Giselle, an antagonist. Myrtha, Queen of Wilis, an undead queen that leads other undead maidens that had been scorned, deceived, and betrayed as they refuse to forgive or forget the offense. Fitting for a captain that had to lead other exorcists that were betrayed with Carmilla's fall and Adam replacing her as leader of the angelic armies.

Vaggie is looking over at the clothes on display with an ellipsis in her speech balloon. There is a close-up shot of Charlie’s eyes as she looks in the same direction with an exclamation point beside her.

Charlie grins with her eyes closed as she holds up a sleeveless sundress and asks, “You wanna try this on?”

Vaggie sweats slightly and blushes as she holds up a pair of jeans, grinning nervously as she responds, “No, uh, it’s too impractical to wear a skirt. I’ll just get a couple of these.”

Charlie, still holding up the dress, pouts as she says, “I mean, sure! If you want. But don’t stop yourself from getting a cute dress just because it’s ‘impractical’, Vaggie. It wouldn’t hurt.”

Vaggie looks mildly exasperated, countering, “You wear suits and pants all the time.”

Charlie brings both hands up to adjust her bow tie, winking and smiling in a way that shows off her fangs as she replies, “Well, yeah! Because I like ’em! Don’t I look devilishly handsome?”

Vaggie blushes as she brings her hand up to her face, eye closed as she chuckles and says, “‘Devilish’ wouldn't be the word I’d use.”

The next panel is in a more cartoony style as Charlie leans forward onto the clothing rack and looks off to the side with a wide grin, nervous sweatdrops near her as Vaggie puffs out air. Charlie says, “Still handsome though…!” There is then a more realistic close-up shot as Charlie looks back to Vaggie, blushing and grinning nervously as she continues, “… right?”

The final panel is a close-up shot of Vaggie as she looks down at Charlie with a warm smile as she answers, “Very.”

Charlie is standing behind Vaggie, eyes unseen as she smiles and ties a ribbon into a bow at the back of Vaggie’s head while the other woman looks down with a slight blush. The next panel is in darker grey tones as it shows a close-up shot of Vaggie looking down, her eye slightly wider as Charlie crouches down in front of her. Only Charlie’s frown is visible as she raises her hand to wrap bandages around Vaggie’s head. The scene shifts back to the present as Vaggie turns slightly to look back at Charlie tightening up the bow with a smile.

The next two panels are side-by-side, showing the flashback Vaggie and Charlie looking at each other from the other’s perspective. Vaggie is looking up with a cautious expression as Charlie looks down with a soft blush and a warm smile, a piece of Vaggie’s hair wrapped around Charlie’s finger. The ribbon flaps in the present as two panels at the bottom of the page mirror the interaction. Vaggie is looking up in awe as Charlie smiles tenderly, both blushing as Charlie raises her hand to brush Vaggie’s hair back.

At the bottom of the post is a screenshot of two paragraphs from the linked story that read as follows:

“Vaggie watches Charlie tie it around her hair from the mirror, the soft and fond look on her face familiar. It tugs at her heartstrings, occurring to her that it’s been nearly a year since Charlie had the same look on her face as she helped wrap a bandage around her gouged eye. Charlie never looked at her any different. Whether Vaggie had recovered long enough to have well-kept long hair or had just been fresh from being gored and left for dead in the streets, Charlie looked at her as if she were the most beautiful thing.

Vaggie had probably realized this long ago. But no other moment than now has been harder to deny how in love she is with Charlie as it is now. Which is a ridiculous notion, in retrospect. Charlie’s just helping her with a little red bow. She suspects it will progress to be even more difficult to deny the more time passes. She isn’t completely against that, just a tiny bit afraid.”
