Really?!?!
We moved to Delaware from PA in 2020. One of the very first things we noticed is that is never really gets as cold here as it does in PA. Winters in DE are mild with no snow. In PA, it wasn't uncommon to have temps in the single digits and windchills below 0.
Our new home uses propane for heat. When we moved in, we didn't even think about having to get the tank filled, since it was still in the 60s here at night. Boy, we were wrong.
Last night's temp sank to 33. There were frost warnings, and the house got cold. Even I was cold which almost never happens. @helly-watermelonsmellinfellon froze her arse off on the floor.
The problem? We don't have the money to fill the propane tank. It's 124 lb tank at $2.27 per gallon. The landlord stressed to Dave last week that we need to get the heat going because the pipes may burst if we don't. Apparently, the last people that lived here destroyed the place and never had heat, so all the pipes burst.
The propane company will not bills us. They want to money at the time of delivery. Neither myself nor Dave have good enough credit. So, we're screwed again.
We could use some help. Tonight's temp is going to be below freezing. We need to get the propane asap.

We all know that Will's prone to freezing and fleeing as opposed to fighting (who can blame him) and this is consistently not an issue. In fact, the two only times he didn't run he was taken/taken over by an eldritch monster. That's like. The worst thing that could possibly happen. The characters talk about how he's good at running and he's great at hiding and this is all purely GOOD. Nobody faults him for this and truly, nobody seems to even notice.
We open in on st4 and we can see Will is struggling with El being bullied, in the way that he can't help and it's crushing him. Nobody else notices, nobody cares. He has a problem with this. It's negative to him. And so, narratively, he has to overcome it. He feels guilty and powerless and weak and he's going to have his st5 moment. He will help her.

Watched Spirited Away again last night and now I’m thinking about an au where Bullfrog is an assassin to Yababa and Lunar is a witch to a Moon based deity and is accompanying them to the bathhouse.
They pass each other in the bathhouse and just share THAT look. The one that’s always done so well in love stories of old.
Also Lunar deserves to try a fancy bath and so does Bullfrog.

How My Grandfather’s Percolator Taught Me About Frozen Pipes
❄️ A frosty morning, a vintage percolator, and a lesson learned the hard way—frozen pipes! Stay warm and keep those faucets dripping! 💧 #WinterTips #FrozenPipes #HVAC
How My Grandfather’s Percolator Taught Me About Frozen Pipes As temperatures outside plummet into the single digits, it always takes me back to a lesson I learned as a kid during a frosty winter in Frostburg, Maryland. True to its name, Frostburg is one of the coldest spots in the state, nestled high in the mountains. My grandfather lived in an old, drafty house without insulation. When the…

Damn it, damn it! My last resort for my birthday was to go to the woods and I didn’t get to because…
A pipe froze and broke last night!!
So I just spent forever figuring out where the break was (the faucet on the side of the shop, with the hose that runs to the dogs), trying to get the cut off to work (I got it about 80% shut off, but it …long story), and failing to find a replacement fitting in our stuff (not surprising. This was the replacement I put in after the last freeze).
So what did I do for my birthday? Got cold, wet, and muddy working on a pipe. Happy Birthday, huh?
I HATE working on plumbing! And I hate I have to figure out what fitting I need and buy it!
You know, all these years those pipes never froze, even after we stopped heating the shop when Pop died, but what happens the second the vegetation cover get lost? The pipes keep freezing!!
