Ford: I've managed to record substantial evidence on tape, such as floating objects, footsteps that are not my own, and radio weirdness; The host or singer will slip in observations of my being that I simply cannot chalk up to coincidence. Whether this being is a ghost, or one of Bills tricks I've yet to discover… There are more dubious encounters such as the whispers, spine shivering chills, and of the brief shadowy figures I see down dark hallways. Weight talk below the cut.
If that scale is right I have gained 30 pounds in two months.
I used to weigh myself regularly but I stopped when I finished college so like.... I don't have more data than that. Like I'm sure this has to do with like, the fact that now I am off my meds I am always hungry and cannot get enough chocolate, but I don't know if that measurement from the doctor's office two months ago was a particularly low one, you know? Because the the previous (higher) data point is from July.
Well, I wonder if this means I can postpone going clothes shopping (my clothes are literally falling apart) by digging out clothes from pre-weight-loss.
I feel like 267 has got to be wrong, because pre-weight-loss my stable weight was 273, which is basically the same for all intents and purposes. But the size 20 jeans I took out of my pile of size 22 jeans a year or so ago are still too big to actually exist in public in, so the 22 jeans must be bigger right? But the jeans I've been wearing for like two years and are falling apart are size 18.
I should probably postpone shopping until my weight stabilizes. No big deal, I hate clothes shopping with a burning passion. But because I haven't been weighing myself, I have no idea what the curve on this data trend looks like.

Off my usual topic, I want to talk about idiopathic hypersomnia for a minute.
I have been tired for YEARS. I sleep and sleep and sleep and I can still fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I have followed alllll the sleep hygeine advice, regular physical activity, giving up caffeine. I went to the doctor and got my iron levels up, started using a CPAP.
I was sleeping 10 hours a night, napping two hours in the afternoon, and I was still exhausted and crabby all. the. time.
I was convinced that this was something I was doing wrong. I wasn’t cut out for motherhood, I wasn’t following the advice correctly, I needed to…I don’t know, something.
I finally asked my doctor for a referral to a sleep specialist. She talked to me at length, but it at one point she looked at my CPAP data and I saw her eyes get huge. “Is this ACCURATE?!” she asked me “You sleep a LOT!”
So. With a hypersomnia diagnosis she got me started on a stimulant medication to help me stay awake during the day. This was two weeks ago and I am MIND BLOWN. I was worried that I might feel…amped up, but I just feel like myself for the first time in years.
I don’t need a nap. I can play with my kid, I can push the swing. I can walk the dog. I CAN GO OUT TO DINNER. My well of patience is so much deeper because I’m not fighting to stay awake after 2pm.
We’re still pursuing more diagnostics, including a 24 hour sleep study to see if I have a form of narcolepsy and some more blood work. But. I feel like I’ve gotten a fresh start.
So please. If you’ve got something weird going on physically or mentally and you KNOW it’s not right, keep pushing for more diagnostics, ask for referrals, get to the bottom of it!

I'm sorry I'm still not over Riz taking the High Fantasy Equivalent Of Speed except no one remembers he weighs 25 pounds soaking wet so instead of Calming The Hell Down like we all know in our heart of hearts Riz would do if he actually took properly dosed stimulants he just sprints through all 9 phases of hyperfocus and ascends to neurodivergent godhood and starts solving mysteries you've never heard of and then becomes paranoid that someone's gonna take his memories so he goes up to a pirate and asks them to tattoo his red string conspiracy board on his flesh
