the entire plot hinges on a detail he lets the reader (and every other character) assume is true. I don't want to spoil it because it's a really fun reveal but he is lying from the first second he appears on the page and you can't trust him to tell the full truth about ANYTHING related to himself and his goals. he mostly does it to keep his advantage and not have other characters be suspicious of him but it's just so fun when you realise he's been lying the whole time

Lemony Snicket Propaganda:

(I would like to preface this by saying that Lemony Snicket is the author's pen name, not a real person, and he exists as a character in-universe as well as being the one in-universe who writes the books!) I'd say he's unreliable because he spent time collecting information about the Baudelaire kids and then... wrote books about it. He has no idea what any of their dialogue actually was, what they were thinking, or even the whole plot, he's just doing research into the incidents and then filling in the gaps to make it a story. What ACTUALLY happened to the Baudelaires? Nobody really knows for sure

While the Baudelaire siblings are in potentially life threatening danger, he will randomly start talking about his own life and just leave the siblings hanging. For example, once Count Olaf was threatening to kill Violet, and then Lemony randomly began talking about how he met the love of his life at a costume party. This man CANNOT stay on topic. Usually when a new character is introduced, Lemony tells us right at the start that they’re either going to die or that the Baudelaire siblings will never see them again. Foreshadowing is not subtle in these books. CONSTANTLY emphasizes how miserable he feels while writing these books. At one point he admits that he had to put his pencil down and go cry for a while because of how sad it made him. Once he filled an entire page with nothing but the word “ever” to emphasize how dangerous it is to put forks in electrical outlets. He also repeated a paragraph about deja vu later on in the book to give the reader deja vu.

something tells me soda was the easiest kid when it came to being sick for some reason.

darry would get so anxious about missing school and would pretend he was fine and then would get sent home about two hours into the school day. pony just got sick all the time man, he always had something going on, a cold, the flu, he probably had strep a couple of times, too. mama would try to give him medicine and he would work himself up so badly that he’d throw it up, and it’s not like he wanted to be difficult, he just got so scared whenever he got sick :(

soda tho? perfect little angel. he really just sleeps the whole time, they always joke that the only time they get any peace and quiet is when soda is down for the count. the only time he’s remotely difficult about being sick is when his throat hurts and he is very obviously upset that he can’t talk. he’s drinking water and taking his medicine with no complaints or theatrics.

he’s just such an easy sick kid :)

The other night I drank cough syrup before bed and I had the absolute worst dream I've ever experienced (⁠ꏿ⁠﹏⁠ꏿ⁠;⁠) Every time I fell back asleep I'd run into the same dream, and every time I woke up I'd realize I was still in the dream. I felt like I was in the dream for hours only to wake up again and see it was 10 minutes (·︿· `) Then it'd happen all over again

Merry New Years everyone, I hope you all have been able to start off the New Years well! And if not I wanted to share a stew recipe I had so you have something nice to warm you up

Ingredients:

Chunk meat (Beef) 1 lb

Potatoes 2-3

Cabbage

Peas (optional)

Tomato Soup (canned)

Diced Tomato (canned)

Tomato Sauce (canned)

1/2 Onion

Flour

Vegetable Oil (to keep food from sticking to the bottom of the pot)

Directions:

Season the chunk meat and cover it in flour

Add Vegtable Oil to your pot

Chop up the onions and throw it into the pot with your chunk meat

Cook until the outside of the meat is browned

Add Tomato Soup, Tomato Sauce and Diced Tomatoes to your pot, fill up the empty cans of water and put that into the pot

Add your chopped Carrots, Potatoes, Peas and Cabbage to the pot (If the cabbage is too big chop it up and let it melt before adding more to the mix)

Bring it to a boil and stir occasionally

Add extra seasoning if needed

Enjoy the Stew!

Anyways hopefully this recipe made sense, and you have something tasty to have if you're feeling sick or in the mood for stew
