This may sound like such a minor thing - having a friendly interaction with a man whilst walking my dog. But this was HUGE for me. I would normally be completely on guard if any man tried to talk to me, even under circumstances like this. I just can't tell you how often I had been approached by men who were 'just being nice' who would go on to make me feel deeply uncomfortable (or become angry and abusive if I turned down their advances). This man didn't want anything from me and that was a REVELATION.
Maybe it sounds obvious that there are genuinely harmless men out there. I had been told that so many times in my life. But my repeated experience was that if a man wanted to interact with me, it would make me at best uncomfortable, at worst in great danger. It is very hard to believe what you know logically to be true (there are plenty of not-dangerous men out there) when it contradicts with your trauma (most men will hurt you if the opportunity presents itself). My complete avoidance of cis straight men was absolutely a trauma response, I know that. But what the EMDR had given me was the ability to face this interaction without immediately being transported back into my trauma, so that it could play out this innocently without me panicking.
Anyway, this page may not look like much, but for someone with cPTSD, this was a huge step forward to living a more normal life.

Seerut Chawla: These are definitely some of them. It's a dialogue around narcissism. It's creating this strange, you know, fan-fiction version of narcissism that only lives on the internet. Anybody you don't like is a narcissist. Any form of abuse or poor treatment is narcissism. Words mean things, especially when it's clinical language. And we've taken this therapy-speak, which is a part of therapy culture, and you use it to inflate every little thing. You're not just offended or you don't like something or you're uncomfortable, you've been triggered. You haven't been triggered. You don't like this so it's cause cognitive dissonance.

So there is this triggered wokecel (@blocklists-just-4-u) who thinks I'm a "bot", with no evidence backing up this claim whatsoever. He certainly didn't go through my entire Tumblr page, my YouTube Channel, my official website, or any of my other social media websites. Funny how he uses the term "weirdo" because that's exactly what wokecels like him are. They look like the criminals Batman typically beats up.

The Left often projects like they do with lying and falsely accusing those they disagree with of being "Nazis" or "bigots". These guys are complete morons who've been brainwashed and indoctrinated by their woke teachers into mutilating themselves into becoming "trans", paying Big Pharma and greedy wealthy doctors hundreds or thousands of dollars into becoming life-long patients.
That's how moronic they are, they got suckered into debt by the very ideology they support.
I'm glad I was born in the 80's and not the early 2000's because wokeism wasn't a thing in the 80's or 90's. For example transgenderism was a choice, not forced on children by their woke teachers or woke parents. It wasn't even controversial to be trans, gay, bi or lesbian.
Only a few fringe groups opposed gays, bisexuals, lesbians and trans such as Bible Thumpers(had a mix of both Democrat and Republican).
But after 2008 is when it became controversial, specifically the trans part since they're brainwashing kids into mutilating themselves through surgeries. And guess who profits off of that? The doctors who don't give two shits and a fuck about you.

This was such a huge moment for me. I had carried this terror inside me for years, afraid of so many situations because men like this exist. But this session changed me. I still held the memories, but the memories themselves weren't controlling me. I felt like I could make rational choices about my safety, without fearing that I'd have a panic attack on the street.
More importantly, after this session I felt far less ashamed of what happened to me. I stopped blaming myself for that night, torturing myself trying to figure out what I could have done differently. Someone chose to hurt me. I didn't do anything wrong.
Because I have cPTSD, I still have times when I get stuck in a shame spiral and fixate on the shame I feel, on being dirty or wrong. But they happen less frequently now. Every single session formed part of my gradual healing (not sure I really believe in 'healing', it sounds so spiritual, but what I mean is, finding a way to live in which symptoms of PTSD don't control my life).
