it’s funny how i can comfortably express my feelings and emotions in english but never in my native tongue.

and when i do speak in my native tongue, i end up stuttering or switching to its english terms.

maybe it’s because i was never taught to speak of my feelings and emotions at home. or maybe it’s because i was never exposed in a household that welcomes the practice of expression. oh, right, we were told to stop crying because we’ll end up coughing and sniffling more. we were never asked about the cause of what we felt, rather, we were told to stop and drop the matter.

somehow the house grew a tradition where a problem was never resolved, but dissipated into thick air. a place where a serious matter will always be forgotten, but never forgiven.

am i thinking too much out of this? or is it because the silence lets me speak louder in a place they will never know of? yes.

i suppose this isn’t that funny at all. not the slightest bit. i will be mad at this unbeknownst tradition. but, at the very least, i will cry and cry until my heart forgives the forgotten.

A judge just called me because she's working on the opinion for a case I did the research memo on. And she asked me. If I could heavily edit what she'd written because. She's read my memos before as well as this one and finds my writing excellent. And because. Her presiding judge told her to rely on me. Because he's done so in the past and I am 'brilliant' apparently. And also because. Other judges she's worked with have raved about me. And she knows they have copy-pasted my work to make their opinions. And she doesn't want to do that, because she's new to the job and wants to improve her own writing style before she starts using shortcuts. But she hopes I will help her out. With that.

Because my writing is just so good and she wishes she could write like me.

Sometimes while doing other things, I think of a piece of dialogue or a snippet of a scene in a fic I'm writing. If I don't get it out, then I'll forget it. And if I don't have time to write it in the moment (I usually don't), I'll make a voice memo telling myself what I need to write. This is the voice memo I left myself earlier today while I was supposed to be doing my real job. There aren't a ton of spoilers in it, but if you want to go into my fic blind later this month, you probably don't want to listen. What I describe is a tipping point in their relationship when they both admit to feeling some kind of way about each other.

I shared another one of these with @feistygina a week or two ago. She thought you all might like to hear part of my process, as silly as it may be.
