She has a cup of tea ready for him when he gets there. It's cold tonight, cold enough that he's wearing that pea coat that makes her unexpectedly weak at the knees, cold enough that she feels an irritating (but no less present) surge of guilt at the sight of the flush in his cheeks. This much is the least she can do, perched on her front steps with her own cup between her feet and waiting for him. She knows the time it takes to get from his place to hers, knows about how long it'll take for the tea to cool until it's the right temperature to drink, times it perfectly, so that when he walks up the front pathway to her door she's able to hold it out in offering for him.

The first thing she says when she sees him is a soft, almost bashful, "You didn't have to come, you know."

He takes the cup in one hand, looking pleasantly surprised when it's warm against his palm without scorching him, and after a moment's maneuvering he's sitting next to her on the steps. "Of course I came." He says it like it's the simplest, most obvious thing in the world. Doesn't matter that it's creeping closer to two in the morning. Doesn't matter that they're really not close enough for this yet. "You called me."

It occurs to Astoria that Percy is way too good for her. She doesn't say anything, simply lifts her own cup to her lips and takes a slow drink. It's too late for black tea, but it's not like she's going to sleep tonight, anyway. He waits, admirably patient given the hour and the temperature, but when she doesn't say anything, her own flushed cheeks the result of embarrassment as much as the cold, he nudges her shoulder gently.

"What's wrong?"

She sets her cup down, eyes him cautiously. "Just to be clear, there's no chance I can pass this one off as a booty call, right?"

It gets a laugh out of him, quiet, considerate of her neighbors. Definitely way too good for her. Their relationship is, at the moment, hovering in a strange space: he knows her well enough to know there really is something wrong, not so well he's gotten the full tragic backstory. It's not something she likes talking about. It's not something she wants to talk about. She probably should have called someone else.

If she's being honest, she's not sure why she called him, not really. She's only sure that she was tipsy enough that it seemed like a good idea at the moment, and that she'd wanted to hear his voice. She forgot that he was a light sleeper, and when he answered the phone, sounding tired and a little worried, she'd very nearly hung up, remembering at the last minute that he absolutely knew it was her. She's rarely nostalgic for the past but it sure was a hell of a time to be alive, when you could drunk dial someone in the middle of the night and then pretend you hadn't done just that, because who the fuck had Caller ID?

Something in her voice when she apologized for the hour made him banish the sleep from his voice, and he said he would be there soon, and so, she made the tea. Would have taken a cold shower, but it's too cold outside to leave the house with wet hair, and besides, the cold air is helping keep her alert. Thank god she'd only been tipsy and not fully tequila drunk, as she was hoping to be by this time of the night. What she hadn't managed was figuring out something to say to him that wouldn't invite follow-up questions, because as soon as she started doing that she asked herself, why don't I want him to know? and it hadn't been a simple question to answer.

Horrible news! She's figured out the answer to that question, and she's so not ready for it. Because she thinks about him when that fucking Coldplay song comes on. Because she's gone to more shows than she cares to count and watched him play with the kind of wonder-struck warmth you really can't fake. Because she wants him to think about her that way, too, and the only thing worse than being seen is being seen. That article about the screaming goats was right. To be known is mortifying. What if he thinks she's the kind of fucked up you can't come back from? Oh, god, worse than that, what if he wants to save her?

(And worse still: what if she likes it?)

Percy is still waiting, watching her with the kind of expression that makes her feel a little bit melted on the inside, and definitely too warm. His eyes skate over her hair, loose and tangled around her shoulders; she swears he sniffs discreetly, to determine just how drunk she is (really not that drunk at all, unfortunately) or maybe to see if the smell of tobacco is hanging around her (Scanlan did mention off-hand that she used to smoke when she was stressed, but in her defense, she's really making progress with quitting this time). In a minute he'll ask if she wants to go inside, given that she's sitting out here in a pair of leggings and a sweater that's hanging off her shoulder and no jacket, her feet clad only in a pair of socks that, while thick, aren't thick enough to stave off the winter chill. He'll worry about her, and want to look after her, and if he's nice to her right now she'll burst into tears, and that's even worse than being known.

"It was a rough day." Her voice is hoarse, and she runs her free hand through her hair, fingers getting caught in the knots and curls. When she tries to speak she fails, so she tries again, and once more, before she manages anything else. "I didn't have a great childhood and I had a worse adolescence and most of the time it's fine, but today it wasn't."

She hopes he doesn't ask why. She doesn't know how to explain it in a way that doesn't sound insane, or petty, or childish, or all of the above.

(Well, you see, my mother spent seven years trying new and exciting ways to abandon me, and then seven years after she gave up on being subtle about it and just left me with her parents she pushed me to go somewhere else, and then when that turned out to be a fucking disaster, she didn't even stick around long enough to let me forgive her, and she's getting married and isn't it stupid? We don't have a relationship and I'm hurt that her future stepson is going to be in the wedding, and I didn't even find out about the engagement from her, I found out when a mutual Facebook friend messaged me about it, and like, sure, it's not that deep, but I mean, there's just something fundamentally fucked up about that, isn't there?)

She shrugs. No need to dig into any of that. Instead, she meets his eyes, and she sniffs in a way that really challenges her ability to look cool and detached from the world and especially her ongoing neuroses. "I couldn't sleep. House felt too empty. And when I thought about the friendly voice I wanted to hear, the only person I thought of was you. I didn't realize how late it was until you answered. I'm fine, seriously, it's just been a rough day. It'll pass. Always does." She bumps her shoulder against his, like he had done, and she offers him a crooked grin, hopes it's dark enough that he won't notice it's not quite meeting her eyes. "I'm really sorry. I swear I don't make a habit of that shit. I promise that, despite how it looks, I'm honestly fine."

They are not close enough for this. He does not know her well enough for this. Percy stands, cup still in his hands, and for a moment she thinks he's going to leave, and steal her favorite mug for revenge, but he turns back around to face her.

"'s cold." He still sounds tired, but he doesn't sound resentful. That's something, at least. "Is the door unlocked?"

Astoria stares up at him in silent surprise, and belatedly, she nods.

"Will company help you sleep?"

Ah, there's that blush again. Will he notice that she's roughly the same shade as her hair, now? She nods again, and he takes the steps two at a time and opens the door. Once he has, she can hear her cats shouting their greetings to him.

"You've got the cotton sheets, right?"

That, somehow, gets her voice working. Astoria stands slowly, turns around to face him; he's standing in the doorway, the cats weaving around his ankles, his familiar shape filling the doorway and dark against the hall light. "Yeah."

"Excellent." He waits until she's through the door, too, before he walks down the hall, unwinding the scarf from around his neck and peeling his coat off and looking for all the world like he belongs here, in her space, fingers brushing against the blanket on the back of the couch that she remembered him liking last time he was around as he walks by. She closes the door behind her, flips the locks, waits for the dread to settle in her stomach as she realizes that, like it or not, she's been seen, really seen.

The dread never comes. She waits until she's brushed the tangles out of her hair and it's smooth and soft again to throw her arms around his middle and sink into him like a drowning woman afforded a raft, and she smells the faint hint of lavender. She thinks she's forgotten moderation. She thinks that, as long as he's here, she never wants to remember it.

She sleeps. She sleeps like the dead. She wakes before he does and she watches the rise and fall of his chest as he breathes like the gentle rolling of the sea and she thinks, I'm in trouble now.

Just this once, just for him, she doesn't think she minds.

Granted, tumblr’s search function may broken but I can’t find a post on your blog centered on Alya’s writing. As a person constantly on the look out for critical examination of Alya’s role in the narrative and the compromises on her principles, relationships and competences made to artificially engineer the episode’s story, I’d be very interested to see your thoughts

I use Alya's writing as an example of a character done dirty all the time, but I don't think I've ever done a sugar post focused on her and I totally should. Before we get into it, I will openly admit that her bad writing bothers me more than Marinette's or Adrien's because she is best girl and we stan her. What can I say, I'm a writer whose best friend is an artist with a diagnosed anxiety disorder. I like characters who are writers and with artsy, anxiety-ridden best friends. They are my people and that gives us a great starting point for this post.

Marinette is the unambiguous main character of the show, so it makes sense to design both her hero partner and her best friend around balancing her out, giving them strengths to fill out the spots where she is weak. It's how you make a strong cast. When Alya is allowed the shine, she fills that balance role wonderfully and I love it! Some of my favorite moments are when Marinette goes on one of her rants and cool-headed Alya drags her back down to Earth:

Marinette: We're gonna stroll over there real cool as if we just happened to be passing by. Alya: Then what? Marinette: Then? I'll invite him out for a fruit smoothie at the end of the photo shoot! Then, we'll get married! Live happily ever after in a beautiful house and have two kids? No, three. And a dog! Maybe a cat? Nah, forget the cat. A hamster! I love hamsters! Alya: Let's just start with just happen to be passing by and see if we can get to that smoothie.

This banter from Stormy Weather is fantastic. It's exactly the type of thing I want to see from these two as it gives Alya a very different flavor of supporting role from Adrien. While Alya and Adrien are both card holding members of the Marinette hype squad, Alya is more of a voice of reason while Adrien is there to validate Marinette and follow her crazy schemes without question.

This brings us to the first issue with Alya's writing: when the plot demands it, they make her a gullible tabloid journalist even though it goes against everything her character should stand for. The reasons I'm comfortable saying this are many. The first one is that Alya is very clearly supposed to be seen as a serious journalist. That's why you get scenes like this one from Feast:

Alya: Now you know back in the day sculptures were painted, right? Most of the paint vanished over time, but tiny microscopic pigments still remain. Thanks to this special app, witness how it originally looked. But here's the big thing. All these works of art have something in common. It's the same symbol! Look, everywhere. It's like some kind of secret society emblem. As if a kind of Order of the Guardians has been watching over the superheroes since the beginning of time!

This scene would not exist if Alya was supposed to be the kind of person who only cared about getting blog hits because this type of content isn't where the money is. But money and clout aren't what Alya cares about. She's just a passionate reporter (or fan girl) who wants to know everything she can and who is having fun sharing her obsession with the world. This is an extremely important aspect of her character because it brings us to reason two that she clearly wasn't meant to be a clout chaser: if she was a tabloid journalist who only cared about hits, then she should have never been given a miraculous.

I could go on a rant her about how poorly Alya's blog is used after she becomes Rena Rouge, but I'll spare you the word count and just say that, as soon as she joined the team, she should have stopped sharing secrets on the blog. It makes sense that a blog would initially fill her need to share the fine details of her obsession, but once she's on the team, the blog should have been replaced by her teammates. She could still have the blog, but it shouldn't have things like the freaking guide to how the miraculous work that we see in the season four episode Gabriel Agreste:

Alya: The Miraculous are magical jewels that give powers to superheroes, like Ladybug's earrings and Cat Noir's ring. But supervillain Shadow Moth also has two Miraculousbrooches in his possession, and they will give him his powers. We can figure out from this that the Miraculous can either make a superhero or a supervillain. It's all riding on who wears it, which is why these jewels can't fall into just anybody's hands.

Alya, you are supposed to be Marinette's sole confidante at this point. Why are you giving the world this information? The writers are doing you dirty, my dear, and I'm so sorry. The best I can do is to promise to never treat you like this in my stuff.

Now, to be fair, there is some nuance to this. Alya is a human being. She's allowed to have flaws, so I can absolutely forgive her for getting caught up in the moment and posting scoops to her blog without thinking (see: Oblivio). That's honestly a great weakness for her character to have as it makes perfect sense for a fan girl to fan girl. At the same time, if you want to have a fan girl character who becomes part of the things she's a fan of, then you usually need to give that character something that will tone them down and make full fan girl mode something other than the standard setting.

Making your fan girl a serious reporter is a great way to do that! It allows you to have that initial bust of fan girl hype that quickly switches into serious get-the-details mode. Without that kind of complexity, Alya would just be another Wayhem and one Wayhem is already one too many.

While I will give Alya some grace on this topic and even call it a good thing for her character, the same cannot be said for her writing because the writers fail to embrace her hype as an in-the-moment weakness and it ruins her character. To put it another way, a lapse in judgement about posting a photo is excusable as a photo is quickly acquired and posted. A lapse in judgement about a full interview with a total rando who is claiming to be Ladybug's best friend is not excusable (see: Volpina). It's a completely different flavor of poor judgement as - at a minimum - it requires Alya to stand there talking to a person for several minutes and never once question what that person is saying. Those are not the behaviors of a good journalist.

Of course, this brings us to the most glaring example of Alya's character assassination: the Lila thing. Almost everything about this arc paints Alya as a terrible friend, which is a massive missed opportunity as Lila is the perfect antagonist for Alya! Who better to take down a liar than a truth seeker? It's such an easy way to give Alya her own mission to focus on, especially if you make Lila more subtle. You don't even need to have Alya believe Marinette without question. Just have her be an investigative journalist who is like, "You know what, this new girl clearly bothers Marinette and I know Marinette can get caught up in her own head, but it doesn't usually last this long. I think something is up, so I'm going to use my skills to see if Lila is telling the truth that way I know if I'm supporting the right person here." Don't have your character claim that she checks her sources and does research if you're going to turn around and have her believe whatever she hears without checking any of it!

Even outside of the Lila thing, I wish we saw more of Alya's research skills! They were such a good thing to give Marinette's best friend as Marinette is great at focusing on a clear task, but research is the kind of thing that would overwhelm her, so it makes perfect sense to make her best friend a researcher as that lets the team have someone to help track down whatever Gabriel is calling himself this week. The writers even understood this to some extent as we saw in Mr. Pigeon 72:

Alya: Marinette, how long have you been working on this? Ladybug: I dunno, six-seven days, maybe ten. Now that we're on spring break, I finally have time to put my whole heart into it! Alya: When was the last time you worked on one of your own designs? Ladybug: I do loads of designing! Look! (pointing to the contraption at her door) I designed a security system so that nobody can enter my room when I'm not in it. And if I put on this hat (puts on modified hat) I hear everything that's going on in here, even when I'm out of the room. Alya: I'm gonna have to break it to you because I'm the only one who can. THIS IS TOTALLY INSANE! Girl, trust your BFF. When I'm researching something obsessively and I can't think of anything else, that's when my mind can get really blocked. You know what you need most right now? A break! Ladybug: No way! No breaks until I find out how to keep Shadow Moth from reakumatizing people!

Remember who ultimately figures out how to keep Shadow Moth from reakumatizing people in this episode? Alya! Because her creative style is all about researching and looking at the evidence. You know, the classic skill set of a reporter?

I really do mean it when I say that the show has a fantastic setup for telling a good story. Alya's character should have been a perfect addition to Marinette's team. My favorite lineup is the line up from season two with Kagami and Luka in non-love-interest bonus roles that I won't get into here since it's a little too deviant from canon to make sense without explanation. Instead, I'll just give you the clear roles they perfectly set up and then squandered for the original miraculous five:

Ladybug: Battlefield commander

Rena Rouge: Big Picture Strategist (basically Marinette excels at reactive thinking/leading during a battle while Alya excels more at proactive thinking/long-term tactics)

Chat Noir: Peacekeeper/Heart/Hype Man

Carapace: Protector/Stop Button (much like Alya and Marinette, Nino and Adrien should have been two sides of the same coin with Adrien being focused on making everyone happy while Nino focuses on keeping everyone safe)

Queen Bee: Wild Card/Chaos Element (I love a good chaos element who is there to suggest the options that won't occur to people who have been raised to follow the rules.)

I'll also point out that this lineup would show that the characters weren't interchangeable and make the two main couples feel more unique and meant for each other. For example, Nino's tendency to encourage others to stay safe would pair terribly with Marinette's need to not get too caught up in her own thoughts. The second Nino second guesses one of her plans she'd fall apart, so she needs Adrien to be her Chat Noir. Similarly, Alya's impulsivity weakness would make her a terrible match for go, go, go Hype Noir! She needs a partner who makes her take two seconds to second guess herself. There was so much potential here you guys! So much potential! It could have been beautiful! Instead, we got canon...

There you go, my broad love letter to Alya. I could keep going, but you didn't request a specific topic, so I'm just going to end it there. my newest Smarto Club character is a bit different since she's more in the style of what i'm doing personally so i want to make more art of her soon. her name is Abigail:

she's a kid who likes reading about bugs and catching them but she never hurts them : ) this is a short game in early development but it's about catching creatures called angels. it's got horrorish vibes but i don't think the end result will be full-out horror, since it's also kinda silly...

then there's Peklo, it's a game for which i created the whole concept and story but the plan is to develop it as a studio at Smarto Club. i wrote more context for it on this post, but for the characters, they're my favorites to make art about at the moment. the main ones are Kiku (the cat) and Mi (the bunny):

i recently created these human forms of them for fun but i'm not sure whether i'll establish them as canon or not... they're trapped in limbo/hell so there's space for them to have a past human form. they don't remember their lives but Kiku feels a deep sense of regret about things unkown to her and wants to break out of Peklo. Mi feels trapped in an eternal sadness, she longs to see the ocean, she can always hear it but has never been able to reach it.

the antagonist in Peklo is a frog entity called Guppy but i haven't really shown him outside of his froggy logo

i also have OCs from my smaller games. there's Hlina that i created specifically for >this game that was commissioned to me for a zine. i don't have any plans to use her again for now but i might make more art of her in the future for fun. she's part of a strange dream realm and is hostile to the player:

there's iro from the >game with the same name who's my oldest game OC. i created that bitsy game for her story but she existed previously in my art degree final project, it was a version of the same story but just a section of it. it's a dream of mine to create a full-fledged 3D game for her some day.

she's a bit of a defective space exploration robot, sent to explore planetoid Iridium-3 in search of human contact. it's set in a future where humanity has dispersed among the whole galaxy so lots of groups have lost contact with each other.

lasty, there’s the characters from my comic that I’m working on, called The most distant planet. the main characters are Victor and Mitya, two 9 year olds whose families end up living together.

i'd say these are the dearest characters to me of all. i don't post as much of them because they're mostly in the shape of comic pages and it doesn't spark as much interest as my games. i love drawing them though.

they’re both little weirdos who isolate themselves and don’t fit in much with other children, so the friendship they develop is very special to them. they have almost opposite personalities where Victor (darker hair) is very shy and dorky but also very sweet to everyone, while Mitya mostly gives 0 fucks about what anyone thinks or says, he blurts out whatever he’s thinking and just wants to run around wild.

the story is mostly slice of life-ish but there’s also a science fiction element ^-^ Victor is obsessed with things like ghosts, aliens, etc but Mitya thinks it’s all just dumb tales.

another important character is Alyosha, Mitya’s 17-18yo brother. he doesn’t know how to talk or relate to his little brother and is kinda weirded out by him. they where very close when they were younger, but when Mitya was 2 he had an accident that Alyosha feels guilty about, and has been somehow different ever since.

he still worries about his little brother and how isolated he is, though. at the beginning of the story the two of them live alone with their grandma who does love them but has kind of a cold and distant personality. 

Alyosha was the type of kid to be considered “gifted” but now feels completely burnt out and had to repeat a grade at school. he felt so humiliated by this he eventually stopped going entirely, so he now works part time and just studies at home. he cut contact with his old classmates but he still has 2 best friends from the last few months he spent at school in the grade below, Manon and Min Na. they’re the kind of friends who just show up unannounced at his house and job, and are very involved with his family’s life.

i’ve also included Min Jie in some art, she’s Min Na’s younger cousin and comes into the story later:

i really wanna publish this comic, i’ve been working on it for a long time and i’m currently waiting for the results of a public funding application here in my country to decide what i'll do next.

thinking of vampires and werewolves integraded in the military clegan au im sighing in agony

werewolf!bucky vampire!buck ofc lets fall to the expected norms mainly because i am a dog coded bucky enthusiast and also as much as i think of buck as a doberman he's very much vampire coded

werewolf vampire feud being an actual and expected thing, the 100th being gunned from the beginning of the war as a trial unit to see how humans, vampires, and werewolves are able to work together. most units kind of failing at it because everyones too territorial, too much blood history, too blood-proud, and humans too cautious.

enter the 100th, always the outlier, ever the undisciplined.

officer training begins far before their assignment to the 100th, so the buckies meet each other first. born-werewolf currently lone-wolfing john bucky egan's proverbial but also quiet literal fur bristling when he firsts scents the air of his new base and zeroing on buck cleven, the vampire who's going to sleep on the bunk right next to him. millennia-old ice-cold buck cleven smelling the wet dog fur and hearing the low growls first before looking up from folding his handful of monogrammed kerchiefs to a werewolf standing by the bunk next to him, presumably assigned that bed.

buck promptly ignores the guy, which bucky doesn't take at all very kindly. john still gives the guy his name though, a week down the line, because, well, he's very pretty and very smart and very capable of putting bucky on his back.

werewolves being high in the sky is unheard of. bucky suffers through the 'trying to get closer to the moon?' jokes easily enough. no sun smiting vampires here btw, should i say they glitter like the cullens or nah. just the slightest glitter then, lets say that there's a glow when the sun hits their skin, vampires being the suns favorite child or something and when they die they return as ashes to the sun to give those vampire pilots some fear of flying too close to the sun.

werewolf dougie vs human blakely. sooo attached to dougley you don't understand. dougie imprinting on ev like a baby chick, scenting his clothes and his jacket and his pillows etc. blakely being sooo flustered the first time dougie actually greets him like pack—as in dougie touches his nose to the side of ev's nose, runs it to the side just before his ear, and down to his neck—face cherry red and spluttering while dougie just has the most satisfied cat-who-got-the-cream look in his face. maybe after their first successful bomb-drop practice mission? idk just obsessed with the image.

vampire duo crubbles, centuries of being together reflected on the way they're never apart on the ground. croz's diet has to be like incredibly precise and certain blood sits weirdly in his stomach so up in the air paired with the anxiety of being so close to the sun he's puking out anything that's left in his stomach. ms. jean crosby known keeper of both harry crosby and bubbles payne, only woman to keep those two in line, but nobody actually knows what she is.

another werewolf and vampire pair: hammy and brady. hammy being a werewolf disaster duo with dougie, squabbling and rucking up the base like pups, bucky having to snap at them to cut it out when he's also wagging his out-of-sight tail wanting to cause mayhem too but maybe not when some very important general is by the base yeah. brady just brings that vibes of being incredibly old and incredibly stuffy and incredibly stick-in-the-mud at first you know?? hammy first meeting his vampire pilot and scoffing because that's literally the stereotypical vampire he's shit upon pre-army. until he sees brady pilot. until his pilot manages to execute a move so beautiful he doesn't end up as a pile of burnt fur within minutes of a trial flight. until he sees john fucking brady crack a smile at him with the slight glitter of the dying sun caressing his skin. dougie, smelling this shit from literally 4 miles away groans because brother, really?

vampire!kenny stuck in the body of a 19 year old never to grow old, waiting for his passing from the sun whenever that is. very human very warm very kind rosie rosenthal easily grasping at kenny's ice-cold-yet-sun-blessed skin and sparks fly from the flat of the palm meeting rosie's and to the tips of his bronze burnt curls.

fiery human chick harding able to go toe-to-toe with wolves and vampires, mouth stretched wide the first time he has bucky egan sitting on his visitor's chair whose metabolism is working overtime trying to burn the devils piss of a hooch out of his system. meeting born-werewolf jack the next hour who's bucky's only equal in their eclectic werewolf pack—whose fur is clearly bristling from bucky grounding him but he clocks instantly that this were will be the one who will actually snap on his new boys' heels if they ever step out of line.

currently kind of obsessed with this aaaa might come back with other ships (demacon i Will love you into existence) when it hits (hopefully) probably when the bi!buck euphoria melts a bit

Hana is quite easy. She/them is obsessed with having a perfect academic record and is the most prideful person you'll ever encounter. No one can be better than her at school or she will lose her mind.

Partygoer, academic genius, socially dumb, can barely boil water and usually stresses herself to the point of fainting and bleeding. Prefers to talk things out. Smokes a lot, drinks a lot

Neat room, everything organized except from the amount of papers scattered around. Likes to show off trophies and medals. Tons of band posters. Her electric guitar is her most prized posession. Voice has an incredible range and is very powerful, thus a great singer

Hana crossdresses a lot to go out and such. Only wears female clothing at school. Extremely tall (1.95 cm). Doesn't know what to do with her life

Masculine body, fit but max ass. It's difficult to describe her, but some drawings give a hint of her body type

Kari is tricky. Really violent. Anger issues. Fights a lot. Scars on her arms which she covers wirh her clothes. Manipulative, really easy to anger. Cannot draw for shit. Prefers having short hair but is scared of being seen as less feminine.

Overdoses on pills regularly. Sexual things are a sensitive topic, but isn't above using her body to get what she wants. Really small (1.47cm). Does her best to be seen as an angel, has a meltdown if sometimes makes her realize she is less than pure.

Room looks like an elegant room of a hotel. Extremely fancy with expensive stuff, but it looks so soulless it hurts.

Really curvy body. Max tits and ass. You get what I am saying

You can make her chubby, though. She would be happier if she was chubby like when she was a child. Only thin because fear of not being seen as conventionally attractive.

May is the trickiest. Since she is "dead", most things are left up to how you want her to be.

“Welcome to our home of healing! Our resort of restoration…”

Charlie made everyone in the hotel friendship bracelets with little Hazbin Hotel charms she had specially made.

She absolutely keeps scrapbooks. She has one full of photos with her and Vaggie that she’s been filling since their first date, and another full of her friends from the hotel (most are candid photos that they don’t realize she’s taken).

Charlie has done research on the animals each hotel resident seems to resemble. She cried for two hours when she accidentally stepped on Husk’s tail after finding out how important a cat’s tail is and the damage injuries can cause to it…. It did hurt, but he was overall ok and he honestly wasn’t that upset with her, but she still hasn’t quite forgiven herself for the incident and she is beyond careful of where she steps now.

Niffty teaches Charlie to sew after she tore her blazer jacket.After reconnecting with her father, she uses her new found sewing skills to sew her dad a stuffed duck by hand with a little hat that matched his…. The duck was lopsided and awkwardly stuffed but Lucifer loved it nonetheless and put her gift on a literal pedestal. And yes, this did make her continue using her poor sewing skills to sew little stuffed animals for all the hotel’s residents.

After learning about Sir Pentious’ crush on Cherri and Angel’s crush on Husk, she sewed them both little stuffies. Angel’s was a cat that, despite its odd shaped and poor stitching, did kinda resemble the hotel’s bartender, and Sir pentious got a little pink bomb stuffie.

Aside from Vaggie and her father, Charlie is closest to Sir Pentious.

Charlie is the one to propose to Vaggie.

Despite her childlike drawing that most see during her pitch for the hotel and her planning on the wall when she has her miniature breakdown, the princess of hell is actually a rather talented artist and she painted the portrait of Sir Pentious for his memorial after his death during the battle against the angels.

In an attempt to bond with Angel Dust, Charlie asked him to go shopping with her to update her wardrobe. She was worried about the things Angel would pick out for her at first, but rather than shopping, Angel showed her designs he had sketched out himself for her. She was so excited she commissioned him to actually make a few of them. She goes to him before actually going shopping now.

Although she is known for being kind and avoiding conflict when possible, after finding Angel and Cherri having one of their girls nights and watching one of their favorite shows, Charlie became obsessed with crappy reality shows with great amounts of drama that end in violence and screaming matches.

After Dazzle’s death, Charlie started letting Razzle sleep in bed with her and Vaggie since she often heard the little demon goat sniffling as he slept alone for the first time since his creation. Vaggie couldn’t say no when faced with a depressed little demon goat and her girlfriend’s puppy-dog eyes.

Charlie isn’t a big drinker and rarely ever actually drinks, but on the rare occasions she does, it’s usually a game night activity with the others and she usually ends up being the type of tipsy/drunk that causes her to giggle at everything and then end up falling asleep in the most awkward places and uncomfortable positions. Pretty much everyone has taken a turn carrying the sleeping princess to her room or to her girlfriend to return her when this happens.

Charlie took first aide classes to be able to go out after each yearly extermination to try to help those who had been injured in during the the angelic attack. She only stopped to try to focus on the hotel, but plans to try to get back into it once she has more support for the hotel and it’s guests, even trying to convince her dad to go with her.

Unbeknownst to everyone except her partner, Charlie has nightmares about the fight between everyone at the hotel and the angels. She knows fighting was necessary, but she can’t help but wonder how things could’ve turned out if they were able to come to a peaceful resolution.

She writes short, silly stories…. And sometimes little romantic scenarios between her and Vaggie.

Within the seven years her mom has been gone, Charlie has still tried to call her everyday, leaving voicemails about every milestone she’s reached so far. She’s had one–sided conversations with her mother’s voicemail about the start of the hotel, her relationship, and even her getting back into a better place in the relationship she has with her dad. She hasn’t heard back, but she knows her mother is checking them messages because the voicemail box never gets full. It gives her hope despite not hearing her mother’s voice aside from the short voicemail message.

Someday I'm going to write a Very Problematic lesbian romance about a knight and a thief. The thief is a mage who can heal from any wound and her blood has restorative properties. This has caused her a Tragic Backstory. The knight is in love with the princess the thief steals something important from, but is currently out of favor with the princess.

The knight catches the thief in the act, but the thief slips through her fingertips. Knight gets obsessive about redeeming herself by getting the important thing back. Ensue cat and mouse chase. The thief is just playing with her at first. She curses the knight to be unable to lie to her. Cue seething rage from the knight.

These two women are Actually Trying To Kill Each Other. There are Murder Attempts. But also banter and the thief is REALLY hot and the knight slowly stops thinking about the princess every waking minute and starts thinking about this thief that she totally isn't attracted to.

Meanwhile, knight gets into deep shit with some other people. The thief keeps appearing to interfere, and each time, she tells the knight one component she needs to break the curse, but says she'll give the last component "over my dead body." She's playing mind games and toying with the knight.

Finally, the knight finds herself in dire straits. She's cornered with no way out. Suddenly! Thief to the rescue! Cue "only I'm allowed to kill you" line. There's a dashing escape and some witty banter before the thief uses magic to restrain the knight (and tease her because bondage is hot) and runs off.

After that the murder attempts get a lot more half hearted. The knight completely loses sight of her goal and is completely wrapped up in the thief. They end up drinking together in some back alley bar and having a drunken night of amazing sex. Knight wakes up alone with the important thing and a note left on the nightstand.

But on her way home, she's attacked by the people she's in deep shit with. She gets gravely injured and the last thing she remembers before losing consciousness is the thief appearing before her and screaming at her to open her eyes.

Knight wakes up completely healed at thief's home base. There's a moment of genuine intimacy and emotional connection. Almost jokingly, the thief says, "admit it, you're in love with me." Knight opens her mouth to say no but the lying curse stops her. Oh. But she's also angry about the curse. The knight demands to know the last curse breaking component she needs, and the thief sadly says she can't tell her. They fight a lover's quarrel.

The knight gets angry and leaves, heartbroken. But! After she gets home with the important thing, she can't stop thinking about the thief. The princess's petty drama doesn't interest her anymore. She wants the woman she's been obsessed with for months.

I'm not going to give away the ending but it's a "I'm asking you to hurt me" situation. A "you have to hurt me now if we want to be happy together later" situation. A "I love you and I'm sorry and I'm begging you to hurt me please don't deny me" kind of a deal.

Someday I will write it. I have other things I want to write first, but someday I'm going to write the most problematic of all lesbians. A story of obsession.

We don't know a lot about Lily for a while when reading the books for the first time. But I always loved the description Petunia gave of  Lily wiht frog spawn in her pockets and turning teacups into rats. Gave the impression that Lily was a troublemaker and liked to get a little dirty - wasn't a girly girl.

Lily is the center of the book series. The most important character.

I'll start over lol, legacy naming can be fine if done well but i don't think it has. Hollytuft + Sibs appeared to us as adults so we don't get to know about them. Cinderheart was cute until we had the whole "shes actually cinderpelt lmao" moment. The two Mouses and Leafs just had no excuse to be there. And if I was Ivypool and my kid died I would NOT want some random cat immediately naming their daughter after her. Isn't that kind of traumatizing? I got rid of all legacy namings that occur -

in cats younger than Holly in my AVOS/TBC allegiances and in my rewriting exercise I'm making Sparkpaw just be really obsessed with being Firestar's kin so her eventual naming of Flamekit makes a bit more sense. At least I can excuse 4 Robinwings to the Erin's forgetting they all existing(not a valid excuse tho imo), having two Frecklewishes is just insane. Was literally nothing else an option? Frecklesong, Freckletuft, Frecklemint? I've also noticed stuff from the beginning like having a semi - prominent Ashfur in Into The Wild's ShadowClan then immediately having Ashkit/(fur) in Fire and Ice's ThunderClan. At the very least, literary-wise, it feels like too much repeating too quickly. I'm not against two Bobs existing at the same time but still…I've actually put down a good fic because they named literally everyone in TC after a dead cat and I got annoyed lol. Names were like, Ferndust Bluestorm Frostheart etc

TV Tropes has a trope relevant to this: One-Steve Limit. While it's very common for people to share names in the real world, in fiction it's avoided to make things easier on your readers/viewers and prevent repetitiveness. The point of not sharing names is for each character to stand out on their own; often when there are multiples of one name (for example, Heather in "Heathers"), there's a reason to it, usually to mock the hivemind-nature of the characters or establish a theme of putting people in boxes they can't escape from (such as in Steven Universe where every gem of one type shares the same name and remains stuck in one role for their entire existence).

In the case of Warriors, I feel that "rule" rings truest. To be entirely fair to the writers, they have hundreds of characters to name, most of them never even showing up in the books beyond being mentioned in the allegiances. A prefix or suffix is going to appear multiple times - that's just unavoidable, especially if you have rules in place for what names are allowed that limits your options. I can't blame them for that issue coming up a few times accidentally.

What I can blame them for is deliberately using names that have important characters attached to them barely a generation later. In a setting where you have to keep track of every name, even as a reader, it's going to cause nothing but trouble if Greystripe dies and in the next book there's a Greykit in the very same Clan. It creates a constant stream of Grey-, which can accidentally confuse readers, or at the very least trip them up for a few seconds - something you DO NOT want in a story, especially one aimed at kids, where things need to be clear and concise.

Hazbin Hotel thoughts : Foils

More of a ramble than anything speculative like the previous posts, just gonna blabber muppet-style about something I like from this show : the Foils between the Good/Ambiguously Good Guys (I mean, Alastor's there, right ?) and the Bad/Opposite Side Guys.

I mean the main thing that made my brain go "ding !" like a microwave and scratched it just right like my cat kneading my back when I'm too lazy to stand up and give her food right away, is the parallel between main couple Charlie & Vaggie (they're so sweet together) and villain couple Valentino & Vox (they're horrible people that are hilarious together).

Both have one of them at the head of their 'organisation' (Charlie is the founder of the Hazbin Hotel, Vox is the CEO of Voxtech and the TV tycoon in Pride), composed of one bi character (Charlie and Vox) and one Hispanic character (Vaggie and Valentino - and respectively they're lesbian and pan if you wanna know), yet Charlie & Vaggie are in a mutually supportive, kind, very encouraging, healthy, stable, devoted and genuinely loving relationship, and if they have fallouts (see Episode 7), deal with it in a mature and upstanding way. Vox & Val on the other side are mutually manipulative (see Episode 2), on-and-off together-but-not-dating (nothing wrong with that in itself, it's just how it's the opposite of Charlie & Vaggie), freewheeling, chaotic and co-dependent relationship (as Vees : Vox provides the medium of TV, Val provides the content), even if, for now, it appears to be somewhat functional, if unhealthy - they are less about fallouts and more dealing with the other's tantrums (Vox keeps Val in line, then does a 180 about Alastor as Val riles him up).

They're both same-sex couples but the first are a healthy couple because they mutually love each other and encourage the best qualities they have, always being there for the other, while the second are an unhealthy couple because they based it on power, and being together because they're mutually attracted to their worst qualities : they're a couple AS the worst people, while Charlie & Vaggie are two of the nicest people in Hell. Funnily enough, Val seems pretty open about Vox' past crush/unfading obsession on Alastor and Vox doesn't seem to mind Val's (horrible) obsession with Angel that much, while Vaggie easily gets jealous when another girl is (what she thinks) too affectionate with Charlie : see her reaction to Emily holding Charlie's hand in Ep 6.

Also, both Vox and Vaggie have to deal with an easily overwhelmed-by-their-feelings partner with a penchant for childishness and drama while being the (usually) more cool-headed and rational one (I mean, Charlie does her plans in crayons for hell's sake), but while Valentino is a psychopathic manchild with very little impulse control when angry, that needs to get his head screwed on straight and hurting people to come down from his tantrum, with Vox' babysitting (before he blows his top in the same way), Charlie has that side to her because she actively doesn't want to harm people, as well as being empathetic and a bit naive, along with her usual musical theatrics - it puts her at odds with the rest of Hell, who for the most part are raging jackasses indulging in their worst behaviors. But just like Valentino, if she focuses on what's urgent or important (and is willing to go that far), she can be quite dangerous and capable (Ep 8) - ironically, in a physical fight, while Val shows perfectly capable of using his mental capacities to manipulate and pressure both Angel and Charlie into making her leave (alongside the heavy beating on Angel, but he actually avoids the confrontation with the Princess of Hell - way more powerful than he is - that way).

Vox and Vaggie also have quite the temper underneath the rationality : Vaggie when loosing her nerve with the Hotel residents' idiocy, Vox when hearing the first wink about Alastor. Vaggie and Val may be the more readily violent (in completely different ways, because, I mean, Valentino) while Charlie and Vox the ones to plan things out (Hotel group activities and redemption VS getting Pentious to spy for the Vees), with material and budget back-up for each (Princess of Hell VS CEO), so there's kind of a square crossing between the two teams : they each share personality traits (in WIDELY different ways though) with the two others on the opposite side.

Valentino & Vox is also a foil for Angel & Husk (whether these latter two stay friends or become more remains to be seen, but as things are for now, I'm telling it how it currently is and will call them friends) : both Val and Husk are pansexual, but one follows the stereotype and jumps on anyone (Val), while the other doesn't wear his sexuality on his sleeve, is respectful with others' boundaries and has a clear, justified limit on his (see Ep 4). Valentino's horrible abuse of Angel becomes even more gut-wrenching when it shows (for now, and if the Instagrams are loosely canon by now) that he's perfectly capable of having a functional (if mutually manipulative and unhealthy) relationship with Vox - meaning he's chosing to hurt Angel and be a sadistic bastard.

Angel does a (very toned-down) certain version of sexual harrasment (constantly hitting on Husk, invading his personal space, H24 innuendos towards him, etc) just like Valentino, to try to get what he wants - but Husk sees it as the unhealthy mechanism it is to mask his pain, coping with the abuse, and calls him out on it. While Angel is naturally promiscuitous, he stops his tryharding, coke-myself-out-of-consciousness ways, and stands up to his rapist - all of that supported by Husk, while Vox doesn't lift a finger to stop Val until it Harms The Image, and even offers his lowest-earners so that his squeaky moth asshat of a boyfriend can shoot someone. Angel detaches himself from the Valentino-shaped shadow that looms over him, and Husk, an ex-Overlord dealing in souls and gambling, having them under his control, is the better version of Vox, who watches and controls everything he can.

Last but not least, Sera is a foil to Carmilla (and obviously, Lucifer, but I might do that one in another post). They're both mom-like figures (if not outright moms, like Carmilla is to her daughters) that are greatly motivated by protecting those under their charge (Winner souls and Emily VS Sinner souls and Odette, Clara, and even Zestial if that line in Whatever It Takes is to be taken at face value - though Carmilla means it at the very least as a close friend). Sera is willing to lie to her daughter (sister ?) figure Emily to keep her happy and out of the loop, regretting allowing the Exterminations to happen, and refusing to question the system for fear of retribution (like what happened to Lucifer), on her or her wards. When called out on her behavior and for help, she refuses to lend a hand and upholds the status quo, even if she's trying to be compassionate and doesn't agree with the sheer pettiness that motivates Adam and Lute.

Carmilla on her side outright broke the rules (on accident - she wasn't expecting for it to work), killing the unkillable in self-defense for her daughters. When asked about in Ep 3, she tries to deny it, both out of fear of a suicidal uprising, and just like Sera, retribution for her own family (plus the Sinner souls), yet after a little push from Zestial, she semi-confides in him (VS Sera who didn't brought Emily into the loop), and when Vaggie confronts her about it in Ep 7, she stealthily gives her what is needed to break the status quo : tactics on how to fight, and weapons. In fact, Carmilla's help from the shadows, while she didn't participate in the fight herself, proved to be instrumental in flipping the scales towards victory. She, a demon, was reluctant too, but she did help despite not knowing all the stakes, unlike Sera, an angel.

And this is what I love about that part of the show : it shows us a spectrum. People being people. To each more stereotyped character, there's a non-assuming counterpart. To each character with a specific trait on the bad side, there's one with the same trait on the good side. And that trait isn't their whole personality either.

Just that : people being people.

“Ughhh anything that involves sitting at a desk all day! Something with so much structure and rules it drives me insane. I have to be active, y'know? Something challenging. If I had a job that was too easy, I'd just about die.”

Did you have a favorite childhood toy?

“Aw, now you're having me remember my Monster High collection. I thought I was so edgy, too. I was too young when they first came out, but when I was... I dunno, seven-ish I found the web series and became obsessed.”

Would you rather be too hot or too cold?

“Too hot. I can keep myself warm, but then my powers are weakened when I do that. Hot I can handle with no side effects.”

“Oh, that's easy, The Storm Riders! It's my favorite book of all time. It got me through the times George was gone to work.”

“I try not to remain in the past. I try to look forward. It's hard sometimes... I don't know how long I hold grudges... I'm not even sure if I have a 'grudge' against those who caused me pain, and I... I don't know. Sorry if this was a rambling answer.”

“I could trust both Teo and Parker. Some may not understand the latter, but he's actually very respectful of others' secrets even if he doesn't understand them.”

“Nothing you'd be familiar with. I listen exclusively to Alii music, especially stuff by Inutilia artists that advocate for our rights. Cheung An's stuff is really good.”

What's an unpopular opinion you have?

“*scoffs* That Inutilia should have rights is one that shouldn't be unpopular but apparently is. But even amongst people like me, here's a hard pill to swallow: Atsila McLain SUCKED. You think she actually legitimately cared about us? She had no idea what we went through, what we STILL go through. Raissa Kamanzi may have ruined our reputation, but Atsila McLain just made it easier for bigots to hate us. McLain did nothing to help us. She had no reform ideas. She was a power-hungry bitch, and the amount of Inutilia that fell for her lies is disgusting.”

“Cowyote cheese is overrated. Llamybara cheese is underrated. I'd argue more about it, but that last question pissed me off, so I don't feel like it.”

“Forgive me if I do not understand the term - it is not something we have in Alium - but if I am correct in its definition, I do not know how I would react. It has not happened to me, although I suppose I would not like it. I frankly do not understand why it happens in the first place.”

If you suddenly appeared in an unknown city, what would you do/look for first?

“I would first try to figure out where I am. A quick study of the architecture may tell me exactly where I am. However, I am sure I could ask someone. Unlike in Ceteri, here it is normal to randomly appear in an unknown city due to teleportation. So no one would question why I am asking. I believe I would like to look around and observe, but if I tire, I would locate a library. I do love spending time there.”

“Well, I do training like everyone else in the Aequales. I do ride my bike, does that count? I like going on my bike through the neighborhood. It's nice being outside and I get to see a lot of my classmates!”

Jungkook: So of course, Y/N is from one side of the world and I’m from another~

🦊: Yeah, strangely enough though!~ We~ were both colonized.

Jungkook: *gasps* True~

Jungkook: *deadpan/trying not to laugh* No.

🦊: *giggles* 

Jungkook: I wasn’t culturally shocked by American holidays, like explicitly American, think Fourth of July, thanksgiving, memorial day, stuff like that.

🦊: Mhm~

Jungkook: The one that did shock me was “Black Friday”.

🦊: Oh~

Jungkook: Y/N actually took me to celebrate that day, we were at Walmart and it was like... A zombie movie.

🦊: *snickers* Yes~

Jungkook: It was crazy~

🦊: And I would just like to say, we only went because he was curious and I hadn’t been to one... EVER!

Jungkook: I had an amazing deal on electronics. 

🦊: He had to fight a Karen.

Jungkook: Which! She saw me, just my face, approached me grabbed the speaker. Then she saw my muscles and stuff and she just gave it to me.

🦊: For context. He was wearing a tight black shirt and gray joggers. He looked HOT~

Jungkook: Thank you~

🦊: *deadpan/trying not to laugh* That’s the only compliment you’ll get today.

Jungkook: Mmmmhm~

Jungkook: There are a lot of Latin celebrations that we did.

🦊: We have traveled a lot.

Jungkook: We have~ I think that’s why... Um~ Your, not really, one-sided love thinks we might be something.

Jungkook: Anyways, we celebrated a lot of Latin celebrations. Like different independence days, race days, and flags days.

🦊: When we went to Mexico we did the “Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe” and w-

Jungkook: We wanted to see the Lady of Guadalupe so badly, but she never appeared.

🦊: Nope~

Jungkook: We also went to Bolivia in August for the “Feast of the Virgen de Urkupiña”, “Feast of Our Lady Altagracia” in the Dominican Republic in January.

🦊: The one that took the longest was the “Fiestas Patronales” in Puerto Rico.

Jungkook: Oh yeah! They start in August but end around January or February.

🦊: We did this one when there were no schedules for him or any of the BTS members. 

Jungkook: It was fun to experience traveling from town to town. All 78 of them.

🦊: And I would like to clarify that it’s not just one day per town. It’s a weekend-

Jungkook: Or maybe a whole week...

🦊: Of just carnival rides, street food, and music.

Jungkook: It was really fun. We skipped the ones that had the same performers. 

🦊: Was that shocking to you?

Jungkook: Oh! For sure!~ It was very beautiful the idea of 78 towns coming together to schedule festivals. The festival ended in one town and then it continued in another. 

🦊: I think these moments are important to realize that “culture shock” can be bad and horrible but also beautiful and fun. 

Jungkook: Exactly. I think it’s fun that we like each other’s culture and can make each other see what we grew up with and understand each other more because of that.

🦊: Aw... You’re such a softie~

Jungkook: You too.

🦊: *long pause* You’re the most amazing friend ever... *sighs softly* I’m glad and I appreciate that you take your time off your schedule to come to my country and see what it was like for me growing up and we can make fun of things together.

Jungkook: Me too... I couldn’t have picked a better friend...

🦊: Aw!~ I would hug you but the mics are on the way.

Jungkook: Yeah, no, don’t hug me. I’m meeting someone later.

Jungkook: One culture shock that I really liked was the “Noche de San Juan”. 

🦊: Oh! I loved the “Noche de San Juan”

Jungkook: Basically it’s a day that happens every 23rd of June, around the summer solstice and it’s to celebrate the taino new year.

🦊: Oh! He said it correctly~

Jungkook: Hey! Bad Bunny taught me how to say “taino”.

🦊: *chuckles* Okay! Okay! It’s one of the longest days, but at night it’s very magical.

Jungkook: Oh yeah!~

🦊: So, what we do is that at midnight we do a backflip-

Jungkook: Or swim backward!

🦊: And it’s supposed to represent letting go of bad things and welcoming new things.

Jungkook: Wait... That’s why you swam forward and told me to swim forward too?

🦊: Yep!

Jungkook: Oooooh!~

🦊: And something that I added was wishing for things. Or, even manifest things.

Jungkook: And honestly? It works!

🦊: Really?!

Jungkook: Yeah, I wished to be no.1 on billboard and it came true

🦊: Oh! *scoffs* We knew that was gonna happen~

Jungkook: *sighs* I know bu-

🦊: You trust ARMY too much but you couldn’t trust them with this?~

Jungkook: It’s not that~ I wanted to impress ARMY and the world~

🦊: The festivals too.

🦊 : I made mandu, which is Korean dumplings, but his parents already made some~

Jungkook: They loved it!~

🦊: I know, but they just wanted some spam~

🦊: We did the 설날 festival. I wore this awesome hanbok an-

Jungkook: And I also wore a hanbok.

🦊: I did 세배 to your parents~ And it was lovely~

Jungkook: If you guys don’t know, it’s when you bow deeply to your elders and wish them a happy new year. 

🦊: And they gave me 세배돈, which I took which was a little shame because I did not expect money to be given to me because I wished my elders a happy new year and bowed.

Jungkook: It was beautiful. Y/N’s hanbok was great.

🦊: We ate 떡국~ 전~ 잡채~

Jungkook: It was awesome~

i watch a lot of films and shows but i’m not like … a cinephile? ofc not srsly ofc but maybe as a joke to say i’m like super deep into movies & shows i could be with outside side sometimes stopping me but it’s all good!! i’ve watched some shows, mainly with family so it does take me time to finish them if i don’t watch them on my own time. i also watch a handful of films so i hope this rundown of favorite, recently watched and want to watch films & shows can give another overview of myself :-D

Time to obsessively talk in depth about my Sonic head-canons, because I literally cannot stop thinking about them. This is likely to be a long post, so I'll spare you all by putting everything under the cut so you aren't forcibly subjected to the wall of text💀

Also sorry for the sudden increase in Sonic related content, it's just that my hyperfixation is slowly coming back lmao

⚠️these are mostly queer identity centered, so if you're not into queer headcanons you've been warned⚠️

Sonic: arospec, bisexual, trans man, he/him. Stealth. Is only out to Tails. Actively fights for trans rights, just doesn't feel comfortable sharing his identity with most people. Hides his negative emotions because he feels as though he has to be a source of positivity 24/7. Probably cries himself to sleep sometimes, the poor guy. In a QPR (queer platonic relationship) with Shadow.

Tails: (I don't feel comfortable labeling the sexuality of a literal ten year old lmao/lh), transmasc, he/they. Looks up to Sonic, literally aims to be exactly like him: he's the only other trans person he knows (who's out to him, at least), and he's cool asf. Admires his bravery. Tails sees Sonic as an older brother figure, and Sonic sees him as a little brother. They've got the ultimate brotherly bond, which also means they argue over the dumbest shit lol.

Knuckles: panromantic, pansexual, transfemme, he/him. Masc presenting, gives off egg vibes (not because he's masc presenting and uses he/him, but because he's hella clueless about trans people). Isn't out to ANYONE, not even himself.💀

Amy: heteroromantic, heterosexual, cisgender, she/they. MASSIVE ally, one of those friends who gives their gay friends rainbow pride merch(/pos).

Shadow: panromantic, asexual, non-binary, all pronouns including it/its, slight preference for he/him. Doesn't give a fuck about gender; they think it's irrelevant to who they are. Though he has pronoun preferences, if someone referred to it using pronouns other than he/him, he would literally not care.

Rouge: greyromantic biromantic, lesbian, cisgender, she/her. Secret mom friend vibes. Has the scariest 'you fucked up' glare known to man(/hj). Takes no shit.

Omega: bro is unlabeled, literally just vibing. Pronouns? Nah bruh (use he/him). A GOD at baking, doesn't brag about it. Can't cook for shit otherwise, literally almost blew up the kitchen somehow (how he knows how to operate an oven but not any other cooking device is beyond me, he just gives off those vibes lmao).

Eggman: aromantic, gay, cis, he/him. Surprisingly supportive of trans people... as in he just doesn't care enough to not be.

Infinite: biromantic, bisexual, cis, he/him. Bro's in denial: he thinks all 'straight' guys have the occasional crush on other guys. Doesn't even know about the label 'bi' so he just thinks someone can either be straight or gay, and since he DOES like women he's convinced his attraction to men is either not real or unimportant. Definitely cries himself to sleep, and has nightmares about the death of his squad. Secretly blames himself for everything, has extreme self esteem issues but hides them by inflating his self worth. His life SUCKS; he's lost everyone who was important to him, just when he thought he couldn't lose anyone/anything else. He's also very prideful despite having low self esteem, and those two things mixed together give him an extremely fragile ego that's easily shattered. He genuinely hates his face, because as far as he's concerned that is the face of someone who's failed everybody, including himself. A 'pathetic' face. Would literally start having a panic attack if his mask were to come off for whatever reason. (Jesus this one got depressing, but I just put a lot of thought into his character because I feel like he has a lot of potential as a character that wasn't explored. Literally just 'lol he had a temper tantrum because he got beaten up and called weak' and that's all the backstory he gets? Nahh💀. I could make a whole post going into the backstory I made for him lmao)

💜 icon: pete saengtham set - this set was a BEAST to make (the first gif alone took me two days to get the way i wanted it kdfshfj), but i love the way it turned out! i set out to really let loose with typography and animation and transitions, and i think i pulled it off.

🧡 only friends + iphones set - when @cal-kestis shared her template for her incredible iphone sets, i had to give it try! coming up with different color combos and thinking about what the characters would prioritize on their phones was a lot of fun.

💖 emotions: love + uncertainty (sand x ray, only friends) set - this set reinvented itself a few times bc i wanted it to express what was happening between sand and ray at the time it was being posted. i'm often inspired by music, and when 'do i wanna know' by arctic monkeys played in one of my mixes, i knew that had to be the basis. that sand mentions liking arctic monkeys in the show only helped fuel that. i was inspired by this set, esp by the second to last gif, and i wanted a similar effect for my set. it took FOREVER to get it (mostly) the way i wanted it, because i had to just. figure it out? it's not as seamless as it is in the inspiration set, but i think i did okay?

💛 sand x ray, only friends (inspired by this beautiful set by @seamayweed) aka the kintsugi set - i fell in love with sea's kintsugi set and when the prompt of 'inspiration' was announced for the userdramas event, i immediately thought of it. the timing coincided with eps 8 & 9 of only friends, and i was thinking about how ray has these 'cracks' and sand is the gold lovingly piecing them back together to help make something even more beautiful......that was corny as hell but that was the thought process. honestly? i think it turned out beautifully and i'm really proud of it.

❤️ halsey - finally // beautiful stranger (sand x ray, only friends) (tw cracked glass effect and flickering neon) - this was a birthday gift for my beloved @henwilsons, who loves sandray as well. she also likes halsey, so i combed thru some songs and finally (heh) decided to work with 'finally // beautiful stranger'. i feel like the mood and lyrics of the song mirror sand's feelings for ray: this beautiful stranger bulldozes his way into his life and he wants to believe they can just be friends, that sex between them won't change anything ('and i say i'm only playing'). but whoops he fucked around and fell in love. and he's been hurt but he can't help but want this man. (god these bozos mean so much to me.) i wanted the set to have a 'last call at the bar' kind of vibe, so i used deep blue and red and then paired that with neon lighting. the cracked glass effect to convey being terrified and hurt just made sense to me. i think it turned out nice, and mia really liked it, and that was the most important thing!

💚 put that blorbo under a microscope!: ray pakorn - she's new but i love her! like most a lot of my sets, i didn't have a solid idea in my head about what i wanted to do. i knew that i wanted to gif ray (he's such a dumpling), that the scene of ray and sand in the hallway of the rehab center with the green floral art behind them made me want to use green, and it evolved from there. infinite thanks go to @deokmis who patiently listened to me ramble about this and gave me valuable suggestions and feedback that made it so much better! i love this set and i'm obsessed with green now.
