i know at this point i shouldn't be surprised at nationalism- but why is it so obvious in the wikipedia/google intro blurb of bicultural & multicultural celebrities.

every time someone mentions the art quality in lore olympus i immediately default to the juxtaposition between these two panels

colour! nuance! depth! detail!!! both men have clear design choices and their rage is depicted both in their eye colouring and body languages! overlay texture is present but hasn’t yet reached “holy god turn up the transparency for the love of god” levels yet

literally looks like fanart made by someone who actively despises the series. ZERO depth, loss of details, that overlay is literally beating my ass in my own home it’s so overpowering.

art styles change and evolve and an artist will develop new styles and techniques as they grow, but lore olympus was literally a total degradation of skills viewed live. it was like rachel figured out how to kind of draw one guy and by god we were going to know it. the details that marked early lore episodes - gorgeous colour choices, composition, shading, soft details - ended up getting completely tossed aside in favour of the same two png cutouts pasted in various tiktok outfits over and over. it’s calarts if they had gotten a multi million dollar webtoon deal

i'm a huge huge fan of the dynamics and story that's present in the dreemur's divorce in deltarune. what a core for a story to be built around.

#deltarune spoilers #deltarune #like okay i always liked the dynamic between asgore and toriel where they found that #when things weren't good anymore. they held different values dear #i really liked the portrayal of a couple who really did love eachother for a long time. but have been altered irrevocably #like. toriel saw asgore make a hard choice. but it was one she disagreed with completely #one that shifted the way she saw him #and asgore seems to think that his guilt and his ideals are enough to counterbalance action. but toriel doesn't agree #in the end. asgore and toriel disagree on what should matter most #and they still do! in scenarios where asgore hopes for forgiveness from her. he's dismissing what matters to toriel #now. in deltarune. the circumstances that lead to their seperation are unclear and only implied #BUT! i honestly think it's probably safe to say that the feelings and crux of it are the same #asgore seems to think that if he just proves something to toriel. proves his good-heartedness. proves whatever. that everything will #go back to the way it was. he keeps giving her flowers that she throws in the trash. he dumps his feelings on kris. he makes them act as a #liason. he tries to get them on his side.#it's awful. and it happens all the time in real divorce (child of divorce voice)#and toriel. in deltarune specifically. seems on the surface to be more together than asgore. but she's seeking distraction instead.#in work. in choir. in sans.#the jitterbug scene at the end of chapter 4 is sickening in its projected tonal clash from the events prior #and regardless of her intention the message that gets shown to kris from toriel in that moment is 'you don't matter to me'#which! obviously i'm not saying either toriel or asgore don't love their children.#but the fact is that kris' parents divorce is fresh. right when they lost their brother to college. in a family where they already felt #out of place. the chapter 3 darkworld is spawned of kris' intention. tenna exists because he wants everyone to be together and happy again #or at least that's what he's representative of #the fact is. kris is lonely. they are being controlled and puppeted by an outside force. and none of their family notices #noelle. their childhood friend who they haven't truly spoken to for maybe years. is the only person to even hint that something seems wrong #asgore and toriel don't notice at all #and susie's never known them any other way #what a story. what a divorce.#anyway if it's not clear i do Not want the Dreemur's to get back together

Callum has asked Rayla twice now to kill him if he's ever corrupted again. This time as like a barter. And this time, despite looking devastated, she finally (begrudgingly) agrees. And later this season, Callum is cleared of his dark magic corruption, but it also warned that if he does dark magic again it'll overwhelm him.

Man my dreams have already been haunted enough by death foreshadowing I can't take much more of it for these two.

Look. I skim through episodes for Ran references. I skip through minutes worth of stuff if I'm confident Ran's not about to change outfit. But I am also only focused on Ran all the time. Which means I'm sorry animator who thought nobody would notice this single second frame of Ran missing her foot. I found it while trying to work out what shoes she was wearing. I was not expecting no feet at all but fair game you caught me out.

#empty thoughts #Post s8 au #I figured out how to explain Lance's marks #The daydream is like- Veronica and Kuron stumble upon recordings of a Galran druid #She was experimenting on the clones and in the recordings she talks about weirdness of human quintessence #She says that if you inject a human with alien quintessence their quintessence almost seems to mimic the alien ones #Too much Galran quintessence and they get Galran yellow/purple eyes. Too much altean quintessence and-you guessed it- altean marks #Even though they are still 100% humans #The druid also says that Shiro and all his clones have this ability removed/restricted by Haggar who believed it would make them too unstab #But she (druid) made new clones without those restrictions specifically for this experiment #Further more recordings and she says that the clone subjects are showing abnormalities both physical and mental #And that they are not doing the mimicry no matter what alien quintessence is injected #Last recording the druid is all injured and terrified and frantic and rambling about how this was all a mistake #And that the empire must never attack Earth because they can not let humans interact with quintessence #The druid is then shouting to something off screen to stay out. You can hear growls and screams and chittering #The recording fizzes out there is shaking. There are more screams of the druid and horrible ripping and squelching sounds #Before it all goes black #And Veronica and Kuron are just stunned in silence. Then Kuron whispers 'we should get out of here'#'Yeah' Veronica agrees #What neither of them had noticed until now is a figure completely hidden in the dark except for their glowing eyes right behind them
