I’ve been kinda thinking about the finale (as if I ever do anything else) and I have a sort of theory on how it could all play out.
Most of this is spec, some of it is my writer brain, so with that what you will lmao.
With what the 911 on ABC posted on Instagram today, I think it’s fair enough to assume that the councilwoman who was the mother to that guy is about to get involved. That whole thing was kind of just brushed off, and the idea of revenge is being repeatedly being brought up (Amir, even the idea of Doug sort of enacting revenge on Chim while he’s hallucinating), along with the theme of loss and grief (Eddie’s current mess, Amir…again).
I’ve seen several theories saying that she would try to stop Hen and Karen from adopting Mara, and while I can see what they’re saying, I actually think it’s more along the lines of her preventing Hen from being interim captain.
We know something is going to happen to Bobby, with all the stills and bts in the hospital, including the one with the whiteboard that says “R. Nash” on it. And if Bobby can’t act as captain, the usual replacement is Hen, but if Hen is in the midst of this, and the entire 118 is caught up I think it’s plausible (especially with Ryan talking about how Eddie is “isolated” next season) that the councilwoman will basically fight to split them up, citing past cases and insinuating they are dangerous or unfit as a unit. The LAFD brass won’t want to get in a fight with city council and will separate them but won’t fire them. (A compromise they’ll think is good, but we know is terrible).
I personally think that Buck will be left at the 118. With Captain Gerrard. I really get the feeling that the councilwoman may know him and put him back in place there even in spite of his past.
If we think about Buck’s worst nightmare (being abandoned by those he loves) it fits perfectly. Being by himself in his house but without his family, with a new captain that he knows Hen, Chim, and Tommy hated. That’s the worst possibility for him. Throw in a potential fight with Eddie and you have the perfect storm for Buck, something that would be untenable for him long term.
Relationship-wise, I have a couple different thoughts. Either Gerrard being at the 118 brings Tommy and Buck closer together, because Tommy understands what an awful captain Gerrard is and is a shoulder to lean on for him while he has to deal with it (this is preferable and what I want lol).
Or, as much as I hate to say it, it could lead to a distance between him and Tommy, because Tommy doesn’t want to be around Gerrard (don’t blame him) and he can’t be there for Buck because he’s afraid of turning back into the person he tried so hard to escape.
And I don’t think we’d start season 8 with everyone back together. With 18 episodes (bless) they have time to draw out plotlines that they haven’t been able to this season.
If, as I fervently hope, Bobby makes a recovery from whatever happens to him, he’ll have to go through the same retraining that Buck did when he was crushed by the ladder, which would be an interesting contrast for him to be put in those shoes, maybe desperate to get back out to the field but not being cleared, Athena being worried about him the same way he was worried about her after she was attacked, all that.
I think Hen’s big conflict would be that she feels like them being separated his her fault, since she didn’t force the guy to get care. She would be okay in another house, but potentially feel like she’s starting over, just like with medical school.
For Chim, I think his biggest thing would be taken out of the 118, maybe he would be assigned to the 133 as an extra gut punch since it was Kevin’s house? I think there’s something interesting there.
And Eddie. Eddie, who is taking doppelgänger Kim out in public, while bringing his girlfriend to the medal ceremony. Something is coming here, this situation is precarious at best. I highly doubt he will still be with Marisol by the end of the season. At the same time, I don’t think he’s going to be with Kim either. With this photo, it could be that Chris finds out about Kim or something like that. If I had to guess, I would say that Eddie and Marisol are done by the end of 7x09.
I could also potentially see Eddie being left at the 118 and Buck transferring to air support with Tommy, which could be interesting since Eddie was the one to leave last time. But for angst points, I think leaving Buck alone in his house which is suddenly no longer home, but hostile? I would eat that up.
Overall, with all those happy stills we got today, juxtaposed by the way press is talking about the screeners, I would say we’re in for a rough couple of episodes and a rough hiatus too.

You know, this one particular phrase from Gou in episode 133 bothered me when I first watched the ep and it still bothers me a lot, even though I think I know why it's there now:
Hi hello I'm back with a textwall about Gou lmao. So yeah, what bothered me about this line in particular was that it came pretty much out of nowhere. Even worse, his character arc throughout the whole show had been him learning to let others in and letting them help him instead of going on ego trips all the time. So for 100+ episodes we have this slow and imo great build up to Gou learning exactly that. To communicate with his Pokémon and people, to work together with them instead of denying help because he had always been on his own when younger. Then suddenly this sentence is meant to be a new and important realisation of his and leads to a sudden 180 arc in the last few episodes of him lamenting being too reliant on Satoshi and others in general. And that's why he has to travel on his own now. You know, if there had been clear build up to that, I wouldn't have minded that conclusion at all. People first being reluctant to trust anyone and then clinging too much to someone to a point where they're scared of doing anything if they're not around is a very real thing and a nice idea for a character arc. But the issue here is that the "too dependent" sentiment suddenly happened in the last four episode of the series, with no signs whatsoever beforehand that he was over relying on his Pokémon or Satoshi. Quite the opposite, he's always been perfectly fine with doing things on his own. It's noticeable that he was still worried about having to work with others without Satoshi around, but the entire Project Mew arc took care of that. As for the Pokémon, he's often taken the role of the person the Pokémon rely on too, an obvious example being Grookey. The very episode he says this and its follow up even focus on Grookey taking the role of the protector instead of the protected for once. Also whenever Gou does rely on his Pokémon, it's in situations where he obviously would have to, unless he thinks he's a prick for having his physically stronger Cinderace battle a Pokémon instead of him himself throwing fists with idk, Mewtwo lol.
So even though him saying he's spooked of travelling alone and being too scared to tell Satoshi directly while Satoshi comforts him is a cute scene in the end, it is also a decision on Gou's end that didn't have any build up. Him saying in the episode prior that he chose this because he'd rely on Satoshi too much didn't have any build up.
Anipoke is no stranger to throwing in jarring decisions at the end to justify the existence of the next series, Game Shark user Tobias from DPP being probably the most obvious and famous example of that. But, correct me if I'm mistaken, it's never harmed an individual character's writing that much. Heck, it's never harmed a relationship between two characters as much. Satoshi and Gou had been built up as these best friends 5ever who slowly become closer and closer throughout the series. Gou says in the second to last episode that he thinks Satoshi would totally just tell him to go for it, to do the solo journey if he feels like it. It's exactly what he said too, so Gou certainly understands his buddy by now. However, this scene would have been the perfect opportunity to have Satoshi be called out on his niceness there, because sure he's a nice and supportive dude. But we know that he enjoys hanging out with Gou. We know that he misses him when he's not around. Heck, we see in the last episode, when they seperate, that he's not exactly happy to part ways with his friend. He completely puts Gou's sudden desire to travel by himself over his own desire to keep being around his friend. As if there's some outside force that forces them to separate against their will. As if they didn't have a choice but to go separate ways because what they wanted to do was impossible with the other around. But in the epilogue (and MPM) they literally do the same things they did together the 100+ episodes prior, so there clearly was no narrative reason for this.
So with all that said. Sorry for the longass text lol, I was thinking about just throwing this into my Satogou essay, but I don't think it really fits there so here we go. SO WITH ALL THAT SAID I think MPM's existence, the way the series goes, the knowledge of what the last episode seems to be about, the knowledge of the change of executive producer between JN and MPM and Yuyama's Animedia interview about MPM, I think the reason for the sudden change in character makes sense. Hear out my super kewl theory
The Yuyama interview makes it sound quite clear that MPM wasn't exactly planned ahead, unlike decisions like Satoshi winning the PWC and making way for a new series this year. It feels oddly disconnected from the series, because even though Satoshi uses old Pokémon and briefly travels with Misty and Brock again, the places they visit are deliberately nameless. And the episodes themselves, while conceptually just like any other "helping Pokémon of the day" episode prior, have little connection to stuff that happened in the actual show outside of small references like Rattata or Beedrill. While we still have to see the conclusion to the Latias plot, it feels more like a spontaneous idea to connect these 10 episodes until the last one than anything.
Oh also a relevant tidbit of information is that Yuyama equated the title of Pokémon Master to a rainbow, e.g. something you're fascinated by and try to reach without ever being actually able to. Might explain JN's heavy usage of rainbows, at least to some extend.
In conclusion, I think what has happened is that JN was written with it being Satoshi's last series in mind. And Gou has been written as the ideal counterpart to him, basically. He's essentially the Lugia to Satoshi's Ho-oh if you wanna, hence both of these mons appearing in the last JN ep. So from his conception, Gou was never meant to go separate ways with Satoshi. But then they realised they have three whole months to fill until the new series is able to premiere. And the idea of MPM was basically born, Misty and Brock as a no brainer nostalgia bait (as per Yuyama's words, the decision to have them be the companions for MPM was so certain he doesn't even remember how they got to the conclusion), episodes that fill the void until the new show etc. Of course to recreate the og trio, they'd have to get rid of anyone but Satoshi from the previous show. How do you get rid of a character that has been established as basically having no reason to leave the other main character and who's relationship with said character had been highlighted so much in both the show and promotional material? You just make up a reason lmao.
And yeah, I mean, as I said, Anipoke is no stranger to sudden decisions like that. Shudo, the chief director from OS to Johto said how he wanted to give the show a proper ending and wasn't able to because the show had to go on. The DPP series was clearly written to build up to Satoshi winning the league (and him potentially getting replaced entirely, since Gen 5 was initially meant to be a fresh new start to the franchise). XY also very clearly was building him up to win the league. Each time it was stuff that happened in the last few episodes that certainly didn't look like they were anywhere near planned ahead. And I am almost 100% certain the same happened in JN with Gou and the sudden change of heart in these last few episodes.
Had to write all this because not only did the decision itself bother me of course (don't get me wrong, I am genuinely looking forward to the new series and MPM had its neat moments so far, but the way JN, Satoshi's series and Gou ended was a wholeass mess imo) but other I've kinda been frustrated about how many people went "hahah told yall so Gou would leave XD GOne" (that pun IS funny tho). Like, no you guys, a broken clock is also right twice a day yada yada. I highly doubt yall saw MPM coming. I high doubt yall expected Satoshi's story to end. I highly doubt you could have been able to tell me what reasoning they'd come up with to have Gou and Satoshi separate. You guys' reasoning had always just been "because they always did it (except for the times they didn't)". Because the thing is, I had written them all up at some point, but all the arguments for Gou staying were based on what the series itself presented and relied 1) on Satoshi staying and 2) the producers of the show not changing their mind last moment to justify the existence of the next series. I'm gonna go ahead and assume the executive producer of JN (Tomiyasu) saw more importance in Gou and Satoshi's relationship and Gou's importance as a character, given that he's probably partially responsible for it being a thing in the first place, than the executive producer of MPM (Yuyama), who has worked on the series as it started and notably would rather stick to the traditions of the show instead of trying out new things. That's why JN's ending feels so out of nowhere and that's probably also why MPM feels so disconnected from the rest of the series, almost more like a spin-off. While Tomiyasu is much more keen on bringing new ideas and concepts into the series. You can see that, as once he started having a bigger influence on the series with Sun and Moon, there's notable changes in setting, writing of characters etc.
Now this was a really long rant fr lol oops. Uhhh... Gou best boi, I am glad the Satogou fandom is still alive and kicking, stay gold, Satogou Day is in two days and I completely forgot about it tho oops

BSD Untold Origins: Anime VS Novel (5)
One of the most important parts of Ranpo's character development....... oh boy- This whole post is just writing down the next *checks book* 10 PAGES literally, and I'm not intent to skip anything. Get your popcorn everyone! Put the text in text-to-speech if must lol- The reason I'm about to make my hands suffer from typing bcuz the whole scene hits very differently with Fukuzawa's internal dialogues added on top of Ranpo's world view. I'm sorry it's not really an 'analysis', I just really want to share the reading experience(??) :')
Pages; from 123 to 133 Word count: 2906
Season 4 and light novel spoilers! (literally)

Episode 1 (Part 1) - (Part 2) - (Part 3)
Episode 2 (Part 4) - (Part 6 soon)
They walked over to a few square seats in the lobby away from the crowd. Ranpo was sitting, albeit sulking, while Fukuzawa was standing right in front of him. Ranpo was fidgeting with his sleeves, so upset he couldn't sit still. Fukuzawa watched him without saying a word. Before long, five minutes of unchanging silence had passed.
"Okay," muttered Ranpo as if he couldn't take the silence any longer. "Get it over with. Give me your lecture. I've been chewed out like this by tons of people at my past jobs, so I know it's coming. I know what you're going to say, too." "You're surprisingly self-aware," noted Fukuzawa, his voice low. "I'm gonna be scolded because I did something wrong, right? If so, then it'd actually make me feel a little better. It's an easy concept to grasp." "...You're right."
Fukuzawa pondered. He wasn't a person who could teach something to this kid. He had always avoided giving guidance to others his entire life. This was the first time he ever regretted that. Fukuzawa had to tell him something. This teenager was at the edge of the cliff, leaning forward. "Tell me about your parents." Fukuzawa made sure to select his words wisely. "Did they say anything about your gift?" "My 'gift'?" Ranpo furrowed his brow. "I wouldn't be having trouble finding a job right now if I had a gift." "Then... Did they say anything to you about your future?" "Uh... My father always said, 'One day, you're going to surpass your mother and me, and you're going to win the admiration of all those around you. But now's not that time. Stay humble and keep your silence. Always be modest. Just quietly observe and don't hurt others with what you discover.' ...Or something like that. I don't really know what he meant, though."
I figured. Fukuzawa quietly nodded. So his father knew, after all. He understood that Ranpo possessed an extraordinary gift. He knew his son had the special ability to observe, remember, and uncover the truth in the blink of an eye. That was why he sealed it away. He didn't want Ranpo to go astray, to ever hurt others and make the world his enemy. His father wanted Ranpo to learn virtue and what's right just like an ordinary person until he had grown up with good judgment and knowledge. He was protecting him, creating a transparent cocoon to protect his extraordinary gift from this strange world. Ranpo's parents raised him like an ordinary child. What an astounding deed that must have been. How difficult it must have been to convince him that the world he saw was normal and nothing he knew was anything other than common sense. But Ranpo's parents did that with their extraordinary minds. What was such a feat, of not extraordinary love? But long before Ranpo had fully matured - far before Ranpo was ready for the world - they departed this life. An immature yet gifted larva was stripped of his cocoon and abandoned.
(im sorry to interrupt but did he just compared Ranpo to an insect? xD)
The palm of Fukuzawa's clenched fists began to sweat. No matter how strong his opponent was, he never experienced fear like this. The larva was without shelter. He was only moments away from being crushed by the outside world. If Fukuzawa didn't use just the right amount of force, then the damage would be irreparable. While hesitant, Fukuzawa finally spoke up. "You... have a gift. A gift to observe and deduce. Nobody has ever figured out my last job. Nobody knew who really killed the president of that company other than you. You're special, Ranpo, and if you so desire, you will become a greater mind than even your parents." "As if." Ranpo immediately shot down the claim. "My parents were amazing. There's no surpassing them to reach the top because they were the top. Neither of them ever told me once that I had a gift, and I believe them." He was stubborn. The protective wall his parents created was thick. That wall protected Ranpo from the world of ordinary people who would fear and fail to understand him, yes, but it was also what rendered him unable to step into the outside world.
"During the play, you were able to guess who the killer was," Fukuzawa continued. "And at that point in the performance, you were probably the only one in the audience who had. I myself didn't know until I finished the script." "Huh?" Ranpo gave a distinctly inquiring look. "Don't lie to me. If I figured it out, surely an adult would have no problem." This discussion was going in circles. He didn't understand others because he didn't think he was special. He didn't think he was special because he didn't understand others, which only confirmed what his parents had told him. It was unyielding logic that fed off each other, and the only way to break through was to shine light on something completely new. Something different. A new factor that Ranpo hadn't even thought of.
"Tell me this." Fukuzawa persevered. "Have you ever thought the people around you were stupid? That they were a bunch of fools who didn't understand a thing?" "..." Ranpo sent Fukuzawa a skeptical glance, and a few moments went by before he answered. "...I have." "That's it. Believe in that feeling. You have a gift, but everyone else is a fool, including me. The reason why you're all alone is because of your talents. Utilize them. There's nothing you can't do." "Don't think you can control me with a few compliments." Ranpo slightly averted his gaze. "My mother told me to never look down on others. Besides, why would only I be special? There are so many people in the city, so why would I be the only special one?" "That's because..." I'm almost there. I can't allow myself to mess up now. The time for decision was near. Fukuzawa wasn't an eloquent speaker. He wasn't someone who could manipulate others with his words. There was only one card left up his sleeve that he could play. Sincerity.
"You were right," admitted Fukuzawa. "I used to carry a sword at my waist. From an early age, I trained at a government-run school of martial arts. I was one of the five greatest swordsmen in the government, known as Goken. I truly thought my sword was for the peace and welfare of the nation... And I killed for that belief." Fukuzawa stared off into the distance. Ranpo carefully observed his expressions. "Assassinations were extremely simple. I had an overwhelming advantage, and not even once had I ever struggled in battle. It started to frighten me when I noticed I was looking forward to my next mission. I no longer knew if I was killing for the country or killing for the enjoyment of it. That was when I decided to permanently lay down my sword."
Fukuzawa remained calm as he spoke. Why am I telling him this? Why am I telling this kid something I've never told anyone before? But the words continuously crawled out of the depths of his heart and poured out of his mouth. "Power must be kept in check. Power that cannot be controlled must be discarded. If you refuse to acknowledge your gift, you are not different from the bloodthirsty man I used to be. You must recognize your talents, especially now that your parents are gone." Fukuzawa yearned to speak more eloquently. He didn't need the ability to fire up an entire crowd, or even the sort of inane flattery that could rouse the populace. All he wanted was to be able to tell a little white lie so that this kid could see the simple truth.
"I get what you're saying, but..." Ranpo scowled hard at Fukuzawa while remaining seated. "But - then tell me. What am I? What were my parents telling me? Make me understand why I'm here - why I'm like this. If you can do that, then I'll believe you." Ranpo was no longer sulking. Instead, he was honestly looking for an answer - something he'd never done before. And Fukuzawa was the only one who could give it to him. "The intermission is about to end. Please return to your seats." The announcement played over the intercom. The few people around started to walk away and head back to their seats, and Ranpo was already looking toward the small crowd. Fukuzawa didn't have much time. If he let his chance go by, Ranpo would probably never seek answers again. "That's because..." Fukuzawa paused midsentence. Anything. Anything would do. He just needed to say something. He had already used the ace up his sleeve: sincerity. He wasn't good at persuading others or speaking eloquently, either. He was even worse at lying. Just then... Fukuzawa suddenly caught sight of the script rolled up in Ranpo's hand. The troupe had given it to him, but he hadn't made it past the first paragraph before getting bored. As if by reflex, Fukuzawa said:
(you're a wizard,harry-)
"Because you're a skill user." Ranpo seemed perplexed. "...What?" "A skill user," repeated Fukuzawa. Even he still wasn't exactly sure what he was saying. "The reason you're special is because you're a skill user. You skill awakened when your parents died. That's... that's precisely it." "A skill user...? Why?" Ranpo's eyes darted about in abject confusion. This was essentially the first time Fukuzawa had experienced something like this in his life. More precisely - he had never spoken so impulsively. "It's all because of your skill. You can see the truth with nothing more than a simple glance. They spoke about it in the play, right? There are people in this world who possess supernatural abilities. And skills don't always make the possessor happy. Yours is the reason why you're in pain and why everyone seems like a monster." "...???" Ranpo was at a loss. He blinked in silent confusion. "You have to control your skill."
Fukuzawa gave thanks to his daily training. He had no idea what he was saying, but his heart was racing, and cold sweat dripped from his palms. Nevertheless, his expression was completely still. It was as if he were reading the newspaper just as he always did. Any hesitation in a fight with real swords could lead to death. The enemy must never get the chance to observe your eyes and predict your next move. That was why Fukuzawa was naturally able to keep a straight face, even if he was feeling anguished or terrified. Put it simply, Fukuzawa was playing cool. "You are a skill user, therefore you're special. To prove that, I'll teach you how to control that skill. You'll be able to freely utilize it with the help of a certain item. And with that item, you will learn how to control this skill that brings you such pain." "...?? A 'certain item'? Like what...?" Leaning forward, Ranpo tilted his head to the side. I haven't thought that far yet. Fukuzawa's eyes wandered around the room in search of a hint. Anything will do. Is there nothing here? There has to be something that can make Ranpo focus. Something... His hand lightly brushed against his pocket. That's it. "This." Fukuzawa whipped something out of his pocket.
"What the...? Glasses?" "It was a gift given to me by a well-known noble in Kyoto." I lied. It was dead stock from the neighborhood general store. "When you wear these, your skill be activated, and you will be able to immediately see the truth. On the other hand, when you're not wearing them, you will no longer care about how foolish those around you are. Here, they're yours." "...Okay..." Ranpo accepted the black-framed glasses as if he had no idea what was going on. "These look like ordinary cheap glasses to me..." He's got that right. "Of course they would, since you didn't even know that skills existed until earlier today." Fukuzawa quietly took in a deep breath. "Uh-huh... So do I put them on?" Ranpo unfolded the temples, then lowered his head and started to put on the glasses when⎯
"Haaah!" ⎯Fukuzawa let out a battle cry, and Ranpo immediately lost consciousness. It was an energy blast, as before, but the scale and directionality were different this time. It was a chi attack normally used in life-and-death battles, but Fukuzawa had utilized it to knock Ranpo out. Even a highly trained martial artist's head would go blank and lose control of their body in the face of such an attack, so a teenager like Ranpo stood no chance. Ranpo was unconscious while still holding the glasses to his face. He collapsed into his chair, and the impact caused the glasses to completely latch around his ears. "...Ah..." A few seconds went by before he regained consciousness. Ranpo stared up at the ceiling, blinking. "Behold. The world is a new place," Fukuzawa said, welcoming him. "Huh...? What just happened...? These are keeping my skill in check...? I don't feel any different, though... Do I...? Do I not...? My head feels kind of funny..."
(im sorry but KJHGDFSVBFJDDGUSHUIF-)
"The glasses have accepted you," claimed Fukuzawa with a profound note in his voice. He wore the expression of an enlightened being living atop a sacred mountain. Deep down, however, he was taken aback by just how outlandish his claim was. "Use these to control your skill. From now on, you are skilled detective Ranpo Edogawa. Use your skill to uncover the truth. Destroy evil hidden in darkness. You can do that, for you are the greatest detective in the world." "I, uh... 'G-greatest detective in the world'?" "Yes. The greatest detective in the world," repeated Fukuzawa as if he were imprinting that thought on a newly born chick's mind. "Isn't it all clear now? The world isn't a frightening place. Everyone else isn't a monster. They're just stupider than you." Ranpo caught his breath. He traced his finger around the glasses' frames as he pondered. "But... No, could it be? So back then, and then, and that time... Everyone was just stupid? They just didn't know any better?"
"Exactly. Listen, Ranpo. The world is full of fools. They don't know how to look at things. They're babies who can't even hold up their own heads yet. Nobody bears any ill will toward you. Do you think babies hate others? Do you think they would try to confuse someone to trick them?" "...No," muttered Ranpo with his head hanging low. "So that one time... And that other time... All the pain I've suffered... But when you put it that way... I see..." Hunched over with a downcast gaze, Ranpo slightly lifted up his head. It was as if he were slowly breaking out of his cocoon. "I see... So that's why. Nobody hates me." "Nobody hates you."
Ranpo suddenly hopped to his feet. His beaming smile stretched from ear to ear. You could practically hear the light bulb go off in his head. "Ha-ha-ha... Ha-ha-ha-ha! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! It all makes sense! So everyone is just a big baby! Well, of course they are! The world isn't a disgusting place! Not at all! It's just a simple, stupid place!" Ranpo laughed in glee. He stood up straight, virtually radiating with a powerful glow like the morning sun. His expression was brighter than Fukuzawa had ever seen before. Ranpo was overjoyed with his rebirth. Then he declared, "Looks like I've gotta protect these stupid toddlers myself!" Ranpo swiftly turned around and looked at Fukuzawa. "Go back to the theater without me, old guy! I've got something I need to do. I can probably still prevent the murder from happening!"
"...What?" "The killer is going to do what he said he would! That much is crystal clear! So I'm gonna use that to my advantage! Now go! I need you right next to the stage!" Ranpo steadily pushed Fukuzawa forward from behind. Fukuzawa had no idea what was going on. His stream-of-consciousness fib somehow got Ranpo to understand he was gifted a moment ago, but now it felt as if he was far past that. What was going on? The killer was about to strike? "Wait? But if we do that-" "Trust me! Just go!" Ranpo was pushing Fukuzawa even harder now. Losing the initiative, Fukuzawa was slowly pushed into the hall, unable to even fight back. But...if the killer really was about to make a move, wouldn't it be dangerous to leave Ranpo alone?
Just then, the chime signaling the curtain's rise rang. "I can already see it - the enemy's target, their plan! I can see it all! I'll be just fine. Go on ahead. I want you to keep an eye on the audience!" Fukuzawa hesitated. It was wonderful that Ranpo was motivated, but if what he said was true, then that would mean there was a killer lurking in the theater. There was no way trying to thwart the enemy's plan wouldn't be dangerous. He looked at Ranpo's expression. It was strong; it was the face of someone who overcame. He'd overcome colossal walls and broken through the chains that shackled him. That would make this his first job as a new man. Fukuzawa had to trust him. To do anything else would be disrespectful. "All right. Be careful," Fukuzawa said with a nod. "I will!" exclaimed Ranpo, his voice projecting far and wide.
"After all, I'm the one who protects the foolish! I'm the greatest detective in the world!"

I took a few screenshots of when they zoom in the rough designs because I wanna see it
Them Beta Designs are something. Malleus but the word Warden from Housewarden was too emphasized. Lilia but Ourple and shorter hair. I guess the purple was to match Maleficent"'s cape

Hi, I was looking at your DreamSMP x Twisted Wonderland crossover and?? It’s amazing, I love your ideas.
I really like your Ghostbur one though, like wofnwndiend ALL OF THE POSSIBILITIES??
You got people bluescreening/spitting out tea whenever Ghostbur happily mentions that he died to his dad. Or like how unnaturally positive he is.
Ghostbur: Wow! This is quite hectic!
Ace, literally getting chased by OB! Riddle: Ghostbur, WERE ABOUT TO DIE!
Ghostbur: Don’t worry, this won’t be as bad as getting stabbed with a sword by your dad! :D
Deuce: whAT?
Or like giving blue to the Overblots to stop them from feeling sad.
Thank you so much!
And yes GhostburYuu is a very naive optimist and oftentimes in denial. I agree, the many possible ideas from this character or a Yuu/MC from the Dream SMP in a world that isn't the Dream SMP
*Overblot happens*
GhostburYuu : This is fine : )
Overblots be confused as having a hand full of blue given to them that they just paused for a while lol
After hearing "Ghostbur happily mentions that he died to his dad". Lilia immediately goes to Silver and hug him, telling him how much he loves his son dearly which Silver gets confused as to why he's feeling like this but hugs back his old man

I like this scene because it was like a look back on how the story started off, more so focusing on the braincell squad.

okay this might be too personal and that’s absolutely okay but i was wondering what’s the story behind the photo of chicago? i’m from chicago and i was just kinda curious
Ur totally good! I took that from a boat tour I did one summer day with my family and I absolutely love the city sooooo much and I wanted to have the background be something I love so.... that’s the “story” behind it lol. Nothing too wild ;)

Am I the only one on here who has never seen a second of Teen Wolf tv but know about sterek and stalia and all the other ships? Not to mention the characters and their personalities? And this isn’t even related to just this show. I can name so many other shows that this happened. Like Destiel/Spn, Avatar (last airbender), sherlock, Merlin, etc... please tell me I’m not the only one?? Cause I have no idea how it happened but it did and now I’m left invested in all of these shows that I haven’t seen (yet) and it’s lowkey killing me guys

prev i honestly think this deserves its own post but i dont feel like im qualified to make it sooo if anyone can write this better or has more examples ummmmm consider this plz😝also plz tell me if anything like this has been posted before cuz i cant seem to find anyone talking about this and it makes me saddd but im pretty sure its been talked about a few times
kusuo and kurumi are similar in a lott of ways but its not always clear because kusuo, being the unreliable narrator slash tsundere slash effing liar that he is, downplays his own emotions and experiences a lot!!
i wholeheartedly think that kusuo got his anger issues from kurumi.. he actually resorts to minor casual violence pretty often (mostly as a gag, probably also more normalized because of super healing but he does do it far more than other characters, though in those minor situations hes clearly very controlled and aware of his own strength because he could easily badly hurt someone but obviously he doesnt because he doesnt WANT to OK ANYWAY) which is not very kurumi, BUT in an actual moment of genuine anger, he has a full on episode and blacks out so severely that afterward he doesnt even remember what happened during it.. this is very similar to kurumis episodes of true anger, and kusuo even exclaims that the SAME PHENOMENON happens to her during/after them
(ch 248 and ch 40, i'd also like to mention that both of these instances of severe rage are due to them being defensive of the people they care about !!! kusuo is defending akechi from bullies while kurumi is defending her family from con men. theres also the very first instance of kurumi rage in chapter 1 where technically shes just at her breaking point in a fight with her husband, but said breaking point is kuniharu stealing kusuos food lolz.)
theyre also both um. very ditzy and gullible. which for kusuo may not be obvious at first glance and even less if you havent read the manga... but very early on we see that kurumi is very gullible and naive, falling for scams a lot out of her naivety and trust in humanity AND her desire to help her family...
(ch 40)
and then theres kusuo who consistently has his vision clouded by his desires (namely: coffee jelly) and easily falls for scams or even just loses his ability to be rational or haggle like he usually can lmao (like in ch 81 where he successfully haggles a really low price for a tv and then ends up buying a coffee jelly machine at full price with no effort to haggle because he just... wants it really badly... lol...)
(ch 133 him making fun of her despite ch 201 him being the exact same way (゚ω゚) silly psychic)
(this is 201 but ch 183 is the iconic 100 yen man chapter where he desperately does chores for money for a new coffee jelly machine, uses all his money on it, then sees an advertisement for a slightly cooler one, and is implied to do the same thing again (cough cough exactly like kurumi in ch 40 buying a bunch of the same things cough cough)... then we see the panels above in 201.. lmao)
along with that, theres also just the fact that he clearly has a lot of respect for her and learned most of his morals from her! so even though kusuo is very pessimistic about the world and humanity, he still navigates it in the way his mother would want him to because either he wants to make her happy or he just has internalized her views while obviously being raised by her... i dont rlly know how to give examples for this one cuz i just kinda feel it throughout the whole ass manga
The. Idiots.
(affectionate)
#umm.. im so sorry i know u did not ask for all this. im just very passionate about it LOLLL#my autistic ass when someone casually says theyd like to hear my thoughts#btw if anyone hasnt read the manga and doesnt plan to- PLEASE at least read ch 133#its my favorite... i love saiki being a mamas boy<3#sorry for any mistakes im just a silly gal#okiee baiii#meownalysis

130-140?☺️
130. What’s the craziest thing you’ve learned about the music business?
crazy in a "wow I had no idea way" but my mom told me about this episode of a show she was watching or smth where there was an interview with some sort of music production guy who said that almost all singers throughout the history of recording music needed minor adjustments from autotune to get the voice to the right pitch. Apparently this guy also said that David Bowie was one of the few musicians who NEVER needed that! Because he took so many voice lessons when he was younger, he had the training to hit the notes perfectly. I wouldn't quote me on this exactly but I can ask my mom what show and episode it was if anyone is curious.
131. What’s an artist band you couldn’t even be paid to see live?
Taylor Swift. Or Imagine Dragons tbh
132. What’s an artist you’d kill to see live?
Placebo, I wanna see them so bad dammit! But idk if they'll ever come to America and I don't have a passport :(
Also David Bowie if this hypothetical killing someone else could bring him back from the dead.
133. What’s some the most obscure band/artist you know?
Omg okay my favorite answer to give to this is Otis Zee and the Zambuka band who I found on this random obscure playlist album called "Gems of the 60s and 70s" that has like a stock photo cover of gems with SUPER obscure artists that I doubt anyone has heard of before. Anyways they only have two songs on spotify and both are about Christmas. They're like a funk band. I think I found this playlist through another artist on it who I found a spotify link to on this website that had like.... thousands of links to musical artists on Spotify categorized by genre. No clue what it was called this was a while ago and I'm no longer friends with the person who showed it to me 😭.
134. Which non English sung music(and excluding your mother language) do you listen to the most?
Oh man, I barely listen to anything non English at all, but I'm gonna say Japanese because I used to listen to YMO a lot and I have a headmate who listened exclusively to J-Pop when she was around.
135. What’s a music pet peeve of youre?
when I find an obscure artist who's music I love but they turn out to be a terrible person. Like with famous artists who are bad people its not really the same and u can just pirate them, but when you find someone who has like 2 fans and their music and vibes are immaculate but they turn out to be a TERF (actual thing that happened to me 😭) it sucks so bad
136. What are some of the most creative musicians you can think of?
Bowie is definitely up there for me. Also Nova Twins, their music is super creative and interesting. Maybe Placebo goes on this list to. I feel like Nova Twins though, you have a hard time really putting them in with a specific genre, they're just so unique!
137. What is your first favorite song based on memory?
My parents listened to a lot of folk, americana, bluegrass, and country when I was little, so that was pretty much most of what I had exposure to at the time lol. I remember my favorite song being Caroline by Old Crow Medicine Show at one point, probably the earliest I can think of.
138. What is your first favorite band/artist based on memory?
I really loved Dido at one point, idk how early that was but I think it might be her. I still listen to some of her stuff occasionally, I love her voice and her style, plus it gives me nostalgia now.
139. What is your first favorite album based on memory?
Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette was the first "album" I was really conscious of, and it definitely was my favorite when I was like 12, because my mom would play the CD in the car as we drove places. Funny, because she would always tell me it was her favorite album when she was 12-13, because thats how old she was when it came out, and shed play it in the CD player in her room.
140. What’s a lyric you’ve horribly misheard?
Oml I just figured out I was wrong abt this one like a couple weeks ago but for a long time I thought Bowie was saying "inspiration have I none just to touch the flaming gnome" instead of "flaming dove" 😭

#add the sperm squeeze scene. it says a lot about ishmael. trust#moby dick#also wholeheartedly agree with it being a series#not like a mini series of two parts split in half like a few other adaptations did but genuinely a series#maybe if we’re crazy enough we could even make it have exactly 133 episodes#doesn’t matter if that means some episodes are only 4-6 minutes while others could be 40 minutes long it’ll be funny#40 minute episode of ishmael turning into nat geo wild whale documentary#whale weekly (@sentienttoastah)
YES! of course the sperm squeeze scene needs to be included! Very important, that one.
lol, that is such a funny idea actually x) maybe the short ones could be released together (like the infodumps and shorter chapter-scenes often come in little clusters).
but if we had to stick to a more conventional format, it's definitely at LEAST 10 1h+ episodes (preferably more), not just 2-3.
I recently finished Moby Dick and since then I've been contemplating what I'd want from a "perfect" adaptation of it. this is what I've got so far:
first off it needs to be a tv show, not a movie. the book is so big 'cause it needs to fit a whale in it, thus an adaptation ought to do the same
Ishmael needs to narrate this baby. give me voiceover ffs, this is absolutely essential
keep the infodumps. for the love god keep the fucking infodumps. condensed, sure, but they need to be there! everyone who watches needs to know exactly how Very Normal™️ our boy is about whales and whale hunting
also tbh i feel like the whole whale phrenology thing is pretty essential to the vibe of Ishmael. do not make this guy normal about this shit
for this to work, some kind of framing device is probably best. easiest is probably to have Old Ishmael writing The Book and figure out some way to segue between infodump documentary style and Plot
oh and also include the side stories of the ships they meet somehow
make. it. gay. I need Ishmael and Queequeg to be banging on screen, okay? at the inn in the beginning, on the Pequod after the whale flensing scene… it needs to be there
HOWEVER this must not be acknowledged in the narration. look, they're just really good friends, snuggling in bed during their hearts' honeymoon, 'kay? and checking out how hot your friend is while he's stomping around on a dead whale, cutting it up and fending off the sharks, clad in only shirt and stockings, is just what anyone would do!
what about all the things Ishmael can't possibly know about, then? like private conversations between Ahab and Starbuck and such? I mean I guess our guy could be eavesdropping, but eh - Melville didn't care, so the hypothetical show could just as well handwave it too
keep the whole end sequence as close to the book as possible. top tier imagery there
obviously there's more needed, especially in regards to the characters but eh. if anyone's got anything to add I'd love to hear it!

Shit fucking damn. My roommate's at-home rapid test was negative yesterday, and I had a negative pcr. But today she has a sore throat and a positive at-home. I'm currently in the office (symptom free and wearing a KN95) and we're trying to figure out how to go forward and I'm just a ball of anxiety. We literally haven't been in the same room as each other since Monday evening, and she's been wearing a mask when in the kitchen and stuff, but fuuuccckkk.
