A little snippet from A Sea Change (the Matthew novella.)
A small line appeared between Sylvain’s eyebrows. “What about you?” he said. “You are the son of the Consul, you and your parabatai are famous. James Herondale and Matthew Fairchild.” He didn’t sound bitter now, just curious. “Everything you and your friends have done — why would you leave after working so hard to make your world safe?”

There's a difference between "this novella needed to be novel length for the story to feel complete" and "I enjoyed this novella so much that I wish it was novel length" and people confuse those often.

Up next is a long-overdue new ref sheet for Ravenpaw.
For his physical description, Ravenpaw is described as sleek, plump tom with a long, thin tail. Yeah, I know everyone always draws him super skinny and he's described that way in Into the Wild, but in Fire and Ice Fireheart describes him as sleek and plump and totally different from how skinny and dull he looked while living in ThunderClan. I didn't make him super plump, just a nice healthy weight and an average-ish build. The scarring on his shoulder is from the Sunningrocks battle that killed Redtail, we see him with the injured shoulder in Into the Wild.
For his pattern, Ravenpaw is described as a black tom with a tiny white dash on his chest and a white-tipped tail. Not much here, just changed his eyes to green from the amber I had on his old sheet.
Overall, I'm fairly happy with how he turned out.

Okay so instead of getting a million reboots of Harry potter. Can we just get one of these:-
1= the story of marauders (for gods sake it already has a huge fanbase) could be made into a short series of about 8-12 episodes. Would be epic
2= the story of House black. (Uhhh hellooo anyone listening? I NEED THIS! A story about sirius and his relationship with regulas. The insanity of following tradition. The story of how Bellatrix lost her mind. The sweet yet firm rule follower that books paint out narcissa to be. Maybe we can even get a reconciliation of sorts between her and andromeda. Heartwarming, bittersweet and compelling. This isn't a want it's a need.
3=books about other wizarding schools. Maybe ilvermorny. Could have a plot similar to Harry potter where kids have to defeat this dark wizard. I will still be invested in it. Even more interesting if its from the point of view from the evil house which in hogwarts case was slytherin. Maybe we can even have some Harry potter characters male an appearance in it
4= A short novella featuring the struggle of students from house slytherin because of prejudice. And nooo the 8th book that I pretend doesn't exist didn't do it correctly. I would love it if it actually follows characters from hp like Theodore, pansy, draco, their juniors/seniors etc. Plus who wouldn't love to see Snape in his dramatic glory again. Extra points if he is a total softie (RARELY) for his house

COVER REVEAL & Synopsis - WULFGARD: THE DEMON'S FANG, new book coming this December!
Tumblr media
Cover reveal and synopsis for WULFGARD: THE DEMON'S FANG, a standalone novella! Coming very soon (this December). Ebook will be free for my newsletter subscribers (which is also free) and available in both ebook and paperback across the usual retailers and my website for a very low price. Synopsis follows:
Illikon is a city on the brink of war, waiting for a hero to save them. Kye Vakurseth's job is to assassinate that hero. Long has Kye studied his target: Sir Tom Drake, the Demon Slayer. Under pressure from his partner, a loyal assassin of the order that holds Kye's chain, Kye must quickly discover a way to slay the mighty warrior. The kill has to go down perfectly - and soon. But another problem arises when one of Kye's most precious possessions is stolen. Caught up in the plot of a secret cult trying to summon the same demon Sir Tom Drake once slew, Kye is faced with a choice: will he fulfill his evil contract to kill a noble knight... or act in the name of good, to stop a dark ritual and perhaps even save an innocent life?
Wulfgard: The Demon's Fang is an exciting standalone novella, a page-turner you'll want to read in one sitting, to introduce one to the world of Wulfgard and some of its important characters.
Although a full story of its own, this novella is also an interquel - it includes a preview chapter from and leads the reader directly into the major novel Wulfgard: Knightfall, the first book in The Prophecy of the Six series: a core series in the Wulfgard universe.
Book cover reveal and synopsis for Knightfall coming very, very soon - along with the book reveal itself... I cannot wait to release these two!

You Have My Attention: The Harwood Spellbook First Lines
Tumblr media
Stephanie Burgis's reimagined, magical, and gender role-swapped regency fantasy novella series is honestly one of my favorites. They're sweet and fluffy and a truly delight to read. But as with any author, Burgis has to catch her readers with those first few sentences. So let's see how she does it!
The evening of the Spring Equinox was cool and balmy, just as the weather wizards had--for once!--reliably predicted. The glittering guest list for the Harwoods' annual ball was exactly to Amy Standish's design. As she prepared to descend into the lake that gently rippled, reflecting the full moon and stars, outside the grandeur of Harwood House, Amy knew she had organized the most important night of her life to absolute perfection. The only tiny, insignificant task left to do was to propose marriage to the right man by the end of this evening. Then she would finally win everything she had ever dreamed of, and it would be utterly perfect. She knew it.
-- Spellswept
Of course, a sensible woman would never have accepted the invitation in the first place. To attend a week-long house party filled with bickering gentleman magicians, ruthless cutthroat lady politicians, and worst of all, my own infuriating ex-fiancé? Scarcely two months after I had scandalized all of our most intimate friends by jilting him? Utter madness.
-- Snowspelled
It was bad enough to be deprived of my new husband before our wedding night. It was utterly unjust to be tormented by nightmares weeks afterward as I slept, still alone, in our marital bed. For the ninth morning in a row, I woke up gasping and clawing at my throat, fighting to yank piercing thorns out from my skin...thorns that, of course, existed nowhere but in my dreams.
-- Thornbound
Dressing for a ball would always be a challenge for any lady who found it easier to analyze--from memory--an obscure spell from two centuries ago than to remember which sleeve lengths were currently fashionable across the nation. But dressing for a ball at Angland's first women's college of magic, where at least half the dancers were certain to add competitive spellwork to their costume and the enigmatic local fey were likely to make an appearance? That raised the standards--and the stakes--enormously.
-- Moontangled
There was this much to be said, Honoria supposed, for comprehensive public and personal ruin: once all that she'd ever cared about had been ripped from her grasp, she no longer had anything left to fear.
-- Spellcloaked
There was a fine line between ambition and foolishness, and I had spent most of my life walking it. Still, as looked around the crowded, fey-lit dining tables at Thornfell College of Magic for Young Women on the eve of our second Winter Solstice, I was forced to admit that--just this once--I might have aimed my goals a bit too high.
-- Frostgilded
