Earlier this month, we made a post asking for your support in attaining 15 year-old Nour’s monthly treatment for her congenital heart condition. Unfortunately, the funds raised came too late. Nour’s health took a dramatic downturn yesterday, and the doctor said that because she had gone so long between monthly treatments, several of Nour’s heart valves have closed up. She now requires an urgent operation to save her heart.

NOUR WILL DIE WITHOUT THIS SURGERY!! She is dying right now because her heart is struggling to function! She needs this surgery IMMEDIATELY to save her young life!!

The doctor said the surgery will cost $8000 USD. Nour’s family’s GFM is in Canadian dollars, or CAD, of which the conversion rate to USD is $1 USD=$1.41 CAD. This means we need $11,300 CAD in donations in order to pay the equivalent of $8000 USD for her surgery.

We NEED to raise the funds ASAP so Nour has a chance at survival!! We are breaking this sum up into 2 smaller goals to be more attainable. Our first goal to save Nour’s life is to raise $4000 USD/$5656 CAD.

Saw someone complaining about the husband not learning sign language, as a signing person, and studied def community… I can't say I'm surprised, not even her mother learned, unfortunately this is really common. Families of deaf children who aren't taught properly about the child needs, and capacities, or they straight don't love her enough to make an effort to learn, prefer for the child to read lips or talk and deprive them of their natural language, even though it's a huge physical and psychological burden, and it tires them. 

As for the people who aren't def and use sign language, like this case, people around her prefer to Heejoo to make and effort using writing rather than them using their time to learn her communication method, it even infantilizes her in some degrees.

BTW in a lot of Asian dramas where they feature sign language, most of they forget an essential part of signing, facial expression. It's not just to express the emotion of the massage but also, we use our eyebrows our tongue etc to sign. A sign uses facial expression too, without if it's like saying a misspelled word. In this show, it's pretty good.

Also, the directors have a tendency of focusing on the face and cutting the arms of the frame, that's horrible, it's like cutting the audio of the clip. Unfortunately, they do it often in here.
