Idk if I can fully express how much I love solars characterization/interpretation of that watchers & grian... it's so dear to me
I rly like that even post-leaving the watchers (iirc) grian still has the little eyes on his wings, boys haunted </3
Yeah !!! The wings serve as a reminder all on their own, the eyes also match the whole angel aesthetic.
In general, Grian is forever changed after the Watchers, a curse of binding, if you will, he still has the Eyes, the Wings, he’s different yet the same.
I rly wanna do a comparison post of Evo Grian vs Watcher Grian…. Evo Grian being so free, barefoot and playful, fishing and pranking his friends, he’s so in love with life, grounded.
Vs the watchers, the layered uniform, the strict schedule, everything is controlled, his sleep, his food, his travel, he’s practically locked away, suspended.
Wings usually serve as a symbol of freedom, a tool to get away, to avoid predators, to get high above it all, but in this scenario they serve as an anchor.
