If i told you the truth
Would you call me a liar
I think that you would
What person could hide
All of themselves forever
It should be impossible
Yet here i am
Would you be hurt
That i never let you see me
I don't think you would be
To be honest with you
You wouldn't like the real me
I don't think you like the me i am now
The one handmade to be palatable
Its wishful thinking to believe
That you would suddenly change
That you would wake up a day
And like me as i am
But then again you don't know me
So i oftentimes wonder
Would you keep me as i am
Or begin to know a stranger

The Readers Blog
Me, trying to convince you guys to read The Circle by Dave Eggers based on this meme from The Office.

It's so good, not gonna lie. The book is WAY better than the movie, to be honest. But, isn't that almost always the case? The movie just misses too much and it doesn't really capture the oh my gosh, my society is a problem, effect. The ending, I'm not gonna spoil it, but. It kills me every time I read it.

Is there like actual strawberry milk? Like how everything is a milk now like cashews, oat, the tortured souls in hell, almonds???
I'm tired of being lied to every time I go to the grocery store. We need actual strawberry milk.

I keep forgetting that I am such a horrible person that people doing shit things around me is almost always my fault.
If you had a personal life falling out. I caused it.
If your project ducks up, I done it.
If you stomach gurgles, well..
If you got trapped in total recall, I hexed it.
If you have a headache, I am the cause.
Oh to be so special.
Honestly, if I had that type of powers. A lot of people would have exploded heads by now. Until then I'd just keep suffering and also graciously and silently collect the blame for it.

Prompt: write a movie concept around a Taskmaster-like show where contestant are assigned absurd or outright impossible, but apparently humorously harmless tasks, but the show is in fact an operation by some Intelligence Agency to come up with new and creative ways to perform heists, intelligence gathering, social hacks and even darker purposes.
Title: The Big Challenge
Tagline: They came to win. They had no idea what they were getting into.
Logline: Welcome to "The Big Challenge," a wildly popular reality show where clueless contestants compete in seemingly silly tasks. Little do they know, their "challenges" are actually elaborate training exercises for a covert government agency, testing unconventional methods for espionage, extraction, and even assassination (with a healthy dose of dark humor).
Characters:
Rex "The Fox" Fowler: The charming but ruthless host of "The Big Challenge," a former black ops agent who enjoys manipulating contestants for his higher-ups.
Dr. Amelia "The Owl" Evans: A brilliant but socially awkward psychologist who designs the show's challenges, analyzing contestant behavior to identify potential recruits for covert operations.
The Contestants: A diverse cast of quirky characters, each with a unique skill set unknowingly being evaluated for potential agency use.
Agent Stone: A by-the-book government agent who becomes increasingly wary of the show's true purpose and the potential danger it poses to the contestants.
Plot:
"The Big Challenge" is a reality show that has taken the world by storm. Contestants compete in a series of ridiculous tasks, from assembling IKEA furniture blindfolded to navigating a grocery store using only interpretive dance. The audience finds it hilarious, but behind the scenes, the show is a front for a covert government agency – "The Department of Unorthodox Solutions" (D.U.S.).
Rex "The Fox" Fowler, the show's charismatic host, is a seasoned ex-agent tasked with manipulating the contestants through the challenges. He observes their resourcefulness, creativity, and ability to cope under pressure. Dr. Amelia "The Owl" Evans, a brilliant but socially awkward psychologist, designs the seemingly silly tasks, meticulously analyzing contestant behavior to identify potential recruits for different branches of D.U.S.
Among the contestants are:
Brad "The MacGyver" Miller: A resourceful handyman who can fix anything with duct tape and a positive attitude.
Penelope "The Chameleon" Chang: A master of social engineering, able to blend into any crowd and manipulate people with charm.
Kevin "The Human Calculator" Sharma: A mathematical genius who can solve complex problems in seconds (useful for code-cracking missions).
As the competition progresses, the challenges become more elaborate and the true purpose of the show starts to unravel. Agent Stone, a by-the-book agent assigned to monitor "The Big Challenge," starts noticing inconsistencies and becomes suspicious of D.U.S.'s motives. He discovers that some of the tasks tested potentially lethal skills (think building an elaborate disguise kit or creating a non-lethal poison out of household ingredients).
The climax involves a final challenge that pushes the contestants to their limits, a test designed to identify an agent capable of performing a high-stakes assassination (with a trick ending, of course, where the target is a cake disguised as a person). It also brings Agent Stone and Dr. Evans to a head, forcing them to confront the ethical implications of the show.
Humor:
The absurdity of the contestants' attempts to complete the seemingly impossible tasks.
The dark humor derived from the true purpose behind the challenges and the potential danger they pose.
Rex's sardonic commentary and Dr. Evans' awkward social interactions.
The contestants' obliviousness to the bigger picture, creating moments of unintentional comedy.
Themes:
The blurred line between entertainment and manipulation.
The value of unconventional skills and thinking outside the box.
The ethical implications of using reality TV for covert purposes.
Additionally:
The film utilizes mockumentary elements, with interviews from past contestants (who remain blissfully unaware of the truth), D.U.S. officials justifying their methods, and footage from surveillance cameras capturing the hilarious (and sometimes near-disastrous) attempts at the tasks.

one depiction of angels that i don't see very often but do like a lot is when the angel itself is contained in the halo, and the body is just a projection or vessel. it reminds me of those lizards that shed their tails as decoys to distract predators.

This is so full of shit. Don't do this. If the kid died, that video would exist on the servers in perpetuity. TikTok is not a paid site where your content gets yard-saled if you don't pay the rent. ESPECIALLY not two seconds after you expire. How would the platform know? It wouldn't. This makes no sense.
Stop spreading fictional stories about people experiencing natural disasters for attention. Use your thinking brain before saying words like this where other humans can access them.
Y'all, I'm crying so hard right now! 😭 The other day I saw a TikTok a 15 year old kid posted because they live in Florida and their parents didn't want to evacuate for the hurricane because they thought it wouldn't be bad and the kid wanted to document their last day alive. I saved the video because I hoped that when the storm passed I could go back to the video and see that the kid survived. I felt so bad for that kid because I know what it's like to have parents who are so stubborn they'll risk their entire family's lives to prove that they were right about something. The video and the kid's account are completely gone. The kid died. 😭 I'm crying over a total stranger that I didn't even personally know, but I wanted them to make it so badly! They knew they were going to die and yet their parents refused to evacuate out of stubborness. They had the means to leave and they chose not to and it costed their lives and more importantly their child's life. Rest in peace...

I'm so glad to once again be on a platform where I can detail the deceit and lies behind the things I make.
Exhibit A: I have been making this dress (see above), and I needed something to go underneath it, which would form that panel at the front and peek out of the sleeves.
I ended up doing this from a satin faced chiffon with a polyester mesh overlay--this mesh is from a halloween collection at Jo-anns, and I think I compared its structural integrity to wet toilet paper, which seems generous, honestly. Like it is horrible to work with, but so, so, pretty.
Tumblr media
Wow. What an impact, right? But you see I only had three yards of this mesh. And making a full length dress with long puffy sleeves takes more than that under typical circumstances. But this dress only had to look good from the front, because it is going under something. So I only added the overlay to the front of the skirt, the back of the skirt is boring ol' satin faced chiffon.
Tumblr media
And then I began working more on the overdress and realized it needed a petticoat to meet its full potential. But since I had such limited material for this undergarment, I made the skirt very narrow, too narrow to make it over the petticoat which now needs to go beneath it.
But! No one will see the back.
So I cut a giant slash from waist to hem that the petticoat can stick out of.
Tumblr media
But when the dress is over it, it looks great.
So no one will ever know (you are not allowed to tell anyone.)
