read part one here!
pairing: steve harrington x fem!reader
word count: 6.8k words
summary: in which spending the night with steve only makes things more complicated
warnings: explicit language, cheating (both reader and steve are cheating on their partners), implied smut, a lot of angst
author’s note: did this for the like ten ppl that asked for it<333 i listened to a lot (A LOT) of i, carrion (icarian) by hozier while writing this so that pretty much explains the super angsty vibes we have throughout most of this lol (angst with a happy ending though so no need to hate me! 🫶🏾)
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
The time couldn’t have been later than six o’clock.
For the most part, it was still dark outside, but you could see the beginning bits of the sun rising through Steve’s thin curtains.
And it was then that you realized that you were still in Steve’s bed when you definitely shouldn’t have been. A fresh wave of guilt began to settle in your stomach as you shifted around to face him. He was still asleep, lips slightly parted and hair a mess.
You needed to leave— you actually should’ve left hours ago, but you’d fallen asleep way too easily in his bed; something that you’d actually never done before. And even now you still couldn’t find it in you to move, so you instead kept looking at him and pushed away the guilt that quietly gnawed at your stomach and told you that you should be running away right now.
“You’re staring,” Steve mumbled after a few moments, eyes still shut and the tiniest hint of a smirk on his face.
You quickly shook your head even though he obviously couldn’t see you. “Not true.”
His eyes opened and you immediately closed yours, knowing that he caught you but you still pretended as if you were innocent.
You felt him poke your side barely a second later and you laughed despite yourself. Your eyes opened and you didn’t hesitate to meet his gaze, but then seeing the small happy smile on his face reminded you of why you shouldn’t have been in his bed right then.
You shifted so that your head was back against the pillow and you stared up at his ceiling, focusing on a random spot. “So, um, are you feeling okay after last night?”
You decided against specifying exactly what happened last night to save you from pointing out the elephant in the room— him being drunk and showing up to your house and a conversation that was honest but also not at all somehow leading here.
“Yeah, just a headache, but not really.”
You promptly decided to use that as an excuse to get out of his bed. “I’ll go grab something for you. Is the aspirin still in the same spot in your bathroom?”
“Yeah, but you don’t have to do that.”
You shook your head as you pulled the blanket off and got up. “No, it’s fine.”
You stepped through the door that connected to his bathroom. You avoided looking at yourself in the mirror, for reasons that you couldn’t fully decipher, and simply rummaged through the drawer underneath his sink for a quick second.
Steve was still in the same position in his bed when you returned to his room, except now he was looking at you with a confused look in his eyes.
He didn’t say anything or call you out on your current antics though as you tossed over the bottle of aspirin to him, and then you realized something.
“Oh, you need water too. I’ll be right back.”
“You don’t—”
You waved him off before he could finish his statement and slipped out of his room, not giving him a chance to say anything else.
It didn’t take long, you knew his house fairly well, and doing the mundane task of finding a glass and filling it with some water was enough to help clear your mind and make you think about everything logically. You realized just how much of a mistake last night was, but the only good thing was that this would be easy to recover from. You two could still go your separate ways and let your different lives completely go back to how they were before you two started sneaking around with each other.
When you got back to Steve’s room, he was sitting up and leaning back against his headboard. He pushed a hand through his hair, which actually did very little to tame its messiness.
“Here you go,” You said as you handed over the glass.
He smiled at you. “Thanks.”
You simply nodded in response at first and then you were speaking. “Yeah, no problem.”
You lingered awkwardly by his bed because you didn’t want to get back in, but you felt as if there was a lot more you should say before you left. “Hey, um, can we agree to actually not do this anymore? I still stand by everything I said in the bathroom yesterday.”
His confused look returned. “We didn’t do anything last night.”
“Yeah, and I think that’s somehow worse,” You told him as you turned away because it became too hard to hold his gaze right then. You grabbed your hoodie off the back of his door and slipped it on. “Let’s just let things go back to normal, okay? You with Nancy and me with Jamie.”
It didn’t necessarily feel right saying the words, but they felt needed. You had to say them. You had to pretend that everything was fine, or that it at least had the potential to be that way.
“I broke up with Nancy last night.”
For a second, all you could do was simply look at him as the words processed in your brain because at first you were convinced that you heard him wrong. But once they did process, you were immediately blurting out, “What? When?”
“Before I got drunk and saw you,” He answered, voice way too soft to match this huge news that he was dropping on you.
You shook your head and sighed as you realized that everything wasn’t going to easily go back to normal and be fine like you wanted it to be. “God, Steve, I really wish you would’ve told me that last night.”
“Would it have changed anything? Is it changing anything now?”
“I wouldn’t have let myself come here,” You answered immediately. “If you had told me this when you were standing on my front lawn, I would’ve told you to go and try to get back with her.”
There was a lot more that you could’ve said— that you would’ve seen the conversation you two had last night right here in his bedroom entirely different if you’d known, and you wouldn’t have let yourself fall asleep in his arms if you knew that there wasn’t any hope for things to go back to normal because he no longer had a “normal” to go back to. And you wouldn’t let yourself be here with him in this moment either.
“Is it changing anything now?” Steve asked again when he noticed that you hadn’t answered that question.
“No... No, it’s not,” You said after the briefest moment of hesitation and then turned away from him again. “I’m gonna go. You should try to fix things with her.”
“Why do you want me to be with her so bad?” You could hear him ask as you closed his bedroom door behind you.
Because then I’d feel a little less terrible about all of this. You wanted to practically scream that at him. You wanted him to understand that if things could just go back to how they were then you’d feel okay about how shitty of a person you’d been for the past month and a half. At least, that was the hope.
However, you didn’t tell him any of that.
“It’s just, it’s the right thing to do, Steve,” You responded loud enough for him to hear you through the shut door.
You headed down the stairs, not listening to see if Steve said anything else, and you were in the middle of putting on your shoes when you heard his door open again. You tied your sneakers quickly and terribly because you hoped that you’d be able to slip out before Steve made it down the stairs.
Perhaps you two needed to have a better conversation that would actually come to some sort of proper conclusion, but you couldn’t do that right then. And then you quickly figured that if you kept pushing him away, maybe he’d get the hint and push you away too, or simply let go.
You were only able to pull open the front door before you abruptly stopped your fast movements.
Because Nancy was standing in front of you, finger seconds away from ringing the doorbell. Her eyes met yours and you suddenly wished for the ground to swallow you whole.
She looked like a girl that had just been broken up with, eyes puffy and red like she’d been crying all night, and you knew that was entirely your fault. An immediate “I’m so sorry” was on the tip of your tongue, but you couldn’t say that, not right then. She had the saddest look on her face that was quickly replaced with surprise and confusion when she saw you standing where you were.
“Oh, oh, hey. I was, um… I was just leaving,” You said to her, trying to sound as normal as possible but this was perhaps the most not normal situation ever.
Her eyes immediately narrowed at you. “Oh my god, I knew it.”
You wondered what she meant. Did she mean that she knew that Steve was cheating, or she knew that he was cheating with you?
You obviously didn’t ask her to clarify, though. Instead, you slipped past her and started walking away. The last thing you heard was Steve saying, “Nance, what are you doing here?” and her responding with some angry words that you felt as if you shouldn’t have heard.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
After the moment you and Steve had on New Year’s— an abrupt kiss on a swing set that led to a lot more kissing in his car— a sort of routine quickly formed. It became a cycle of ending up in his car or your car or his house, and it was exactly three weeks after New Year’s when he finally saw the inside of yours.
It was a rare one-off situation where your parents were gone for the weekend and you knew that you weren’t supposed to have anyone over; not even Jamie, even though they’d known him for practically forever.
You had never had the urge to break the rule before and Jamie wanted to keep a good relationship with your parents and was also too nice to suggest breaking it either, so you initially thought that your nights would be quiet.
Except you now had Steve in your life. And he didn’t mind breaking the rule of your parents who he hadn’t even met, so he came over to your house around ten o’clock.
You were immediately trying to pull him in for a kiss when you closed the front door behind him, but he pulled back with a teasing smile.
“Can I at least get a tour before you try to seduce me?”
You playfully rolled your eyes at him but still nodded at his request. “Of course, I’m so sorry, where are my manners?”
You grabbed his hand before you could think too much about it, and quickly led him through your house and pointed out everything. “Kitchen, small dining room, living room, guest room and bathroom down the hall. And that’s pretty much it for down here. Nothing as extravagant as your house.”
“I like it.”
“Don’t get too attached because this is the only time that this will happen here.”
You didn’t outwardly say the exact reason why that was probably the case— it would never make sense for him to come over any other time; it would either be too risky with your parents right down the hall or during a time when Jamie was over. But, Steve understood all of what was left unspoken.
“Got it,” He said and then he smiled at you. “Can I see upstairs?”
You nodded, leading the way once again. “My parents' room is down that way, and I’m right here.”
The door was already open so you let him walk in first. There wasn’t too much you found embarrassing about your bedroom, not the full shelf of books or the few posters that hung on the wall above your desk. The only thing that made your cheeks warm in embarrassment was the wallpaper on your walls that you had since you were a kid and had hoped to change sooner rather than later, but you had just never gotten around to it.
Steve looked at you after a moment. “Cute room.”
“One day those pink unicorns will no longer be on the wall.”
“I like them. They add character.”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes even as you laughed at his words. “Shut up.”
The teasing smirk on his face didn’t manage to annoy you as he stepped closer to you and the distance between you two became nonexistent. He leaned in and kissed you then because that was what was supposed to happen and it probably should’ve happened sooner; what you two were doing wasn’t meant to be anything more or less than physical.
Your freshly made bed became a mess in a matter of moments and clothes were quickly scattered on the floor; his jeans and t-shirt gone and your own tank top and shorts tossed somewhere to the side too.
It was fairly early for a Friday night, and you kind of wondered how Steve could even be here right now, but neither of you ever asked where each other’s person was. It was just quietly understood that when you two were together it meant that some excuse had been made or some lie had been told so that this could happen.
A part of you knew that you’d eventually feel bad about all of this, but it had only been three weeks and you were able to forget about how bad you should’ve been feeling when you and Steve were together like this; not an ounce of space between your bodies and limbs tangled beneath bedsheets. Weirdly enough, it just felt too right even though it was objectively wrong.
Soft kisses trailed along your neck and collarbone and then proceeded to move lower and lower. All you could do was sigh in contentment and your eyes slipped shut as you let Steve turn your mind to mush for the time being.
“You’ve read all of these?” Steve asked you later; when you were heading back into your bedroom after using the bathroom and you saw him standing next to your bookshelf.
He was shirtless with only his jeans hanging low on his hips, which made sense since you were wearing his t-shirt right then; it had been the closest thing to you afterward. Now, though, you pulled it off and tossed it over to him and then went to grab your own shirt.
“Yeah,” You simply answered his question as you searched around your room for your underwear and slipped it on once you spotted it partially under your bed.
Steve pulled one of the books off of the shelf, you couldn’t see what the title said even as you moved a little closer to him. “This is the one that we had to read for that English project last year.”
You nodded. “Oh, yeah, I liked it a lot, actually.”
“I barely remember anything that happened in it.”
“That’s not surprising and it’s probably the reason why we got a B+ on that project.”
Steve placed the book on the shelf and then turned around to face you. “Hey, a B+ is great.”
“Yeah, for you, but for a person that actually really likes English, not so much,” You told him and then smiled to show that, for the most part, you were joking.
He held up his hands in mock surrender. “Sorry for holding you back on that project.”
“Apology accepted,” You said. “I also really don’t even need an apology because I’ve had much worse partners than you on things before.”
“Okay, in that case, I feel honored that I haven’t been the worst person you’ve ever had to work with.”
You laughed a little. “And I hope I was the best person you’ve ever had to work with.”
Steve nodded. “Of course, you definitely were.”
You were pretty sure he was joking— even though he didn’t entirely sound like it— so you continued playing along. “I feel honored.”
He stepped closer to you and for a second you thought that he was going to kiss you again, and although that never happened after, you didn’t think that you would’ve reminded him of that or pushed him away. He didn’t kiss you, though; he stopped before he got that close to you and started heading toward your open bedroom door instead.
“I should probably go,” He said, and you nodded in agreement.
He could’ve easily stayed the night if either of you wanted that to happen. But, he didn’t ask and you didn’t offer. It would’ve been wrong to, you both could silently agree on that.
You were kind of starting to become okay with things becoming more and more wrong, though.
This was meant to be mindless and solely physical, but it was becoming a sort of routine, second nature in a way, to talk about random nonsense or joke around with each other.
However, staying the night felt like a line you two shouldn’t cross; it felt different than just talking for a while after. It felt a thousand times more intimate and serious and like it went several steps past just having sex or being two people who talked about way too much with each other sometimes.
“I’ll see you later,” Steve said before he opened your front door.
“Yeah,” You nodded. “Goodnight.”
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
Barely a month later, and the line had been crossed.
The unspoken rule was broken and there wasn’t even any point to spiral out about it because that somehow wasn’t the worst thing that happened.
Everything was ruined, or it at least soon would be because you couldn’t imagine Nancy sitting on this information and not telling anyone. She was rightfully mad and maybe you deserved whatever would happen once all of this spread around the school.
Your walk home from Steve’s house was quick and the sun was completely up by the time you made it through your front door, but it was still early enough that your parents were still asleep and wouldn’t know that you’d been gone for the entire night.
A part of you wanted to simply just go to sleep when you stepped back into your bedroom, sleep through the entire day, and just forget about everything. But then there was the other part of you that couldn’t not think about everything; the inevitable explosion that was coming sooner rather than later, and it didn’t even feel entirely dramatic to view it that way.
Ultimately, you decided to take a shower because it felt like the only thing that would help you feel a little better. It ended up being the longest shower you’d had in a while and it actually didn’t do much to make you feel any differently. There was still the guilt that had made a home in your stomach when you woke up and it was now coupled with a lot of dread.
You left for school at the time you were supposed to leave, saying a quick goodbye to your parents before stepping out of the door, but you turned left instead of right at the end of your block and ended up at a diner. You stayed there for probably way too long, sipping coffee instead of anything else because you couldn’t stomach the thought of having actual food right then.
You thought about how you could fix things, and if there was even any hope to fix anything, and also what exactly was there to fix. You didn’t want to hurt Jamie, but you were certain that you did, and what could you even say to him now that would magically “fix” what you’d done?
That you loved him and still wanted to be with him? That everything that happened with Steve was a stupid mistake and you regretted it entirely?
You had lied a lot over the past month and a half and you didn’t want to just continue piling onto it. But, then the thought of being a thousand percent honest felt way too scary.
And when thinking about how fucked your life was became too much, you took the newspaper that a random older man offered you and sipped more coffee, and reread the same articles over and over again.
You eventually showed up to school halfway through lunch. Missing the entire day felt a bit too cowardly and you also remembered that you had to take a Chemistry quiz at the end of the day. However, you didn’t immediately step out of your car once you were parked in the school parking lot. Instead, you leaned your head back against the headrest and let out a sigh, eyes slipping shut in the process as you mentally prepared yourself for whatever you'd have to face inside those walls.
An abrupt quick knock against your window scared you and made you open your eyes. It was Jamie standing at your passenger side window and you could feel your heart speed up in your chest, and it wasn’t because you’d just been startled by him.
But, he didn’t look mad at you, just confused, and that felt like a good sign; maybe that meant that the “inevitable” actually hadn’t happened yet.
You gave him a small wave and then he opened the door and proceeded to get in your car.
“Where’ve you been?”
“I wasn’t really feeling good this morning, but then I remembered my Chem quiz last period and I don’t wanna miss that.”
He nodded. “Oh, okay.”
He wasn’t looking at you— you could tell that he was purposely avoiding eye contact with you, actually— and it was that that made you realize that he knew.
“I’m so sorry,” You blurted out.
“Is it true?”
“I’m so sorry.”
Finally, his eyes met yours and the hurt look on his face made you want to break his gaze, but it would’ve been too shitty to look away because you suddenly felt bad. “I don’t get it... Steve Harrington? Really? Do you wanna be with him now?”
For a second, you didn’t say anything. You couldn’t; no words would form on your lips. And it was then that you realized that you weren’t ready to be honest with this guy sitting next to you who you’d known since you were twelve and considered your best friend since then too. It shouldn’t have felt so fucking hard, but it did, and the worst part of it was that you knew that you had to tell him the truth anyway.
“Honestly, Steve has nothing to do with how I feel about us and you,” You ultimately said, realizing that you weren’t completely answering Jamie’s question, but he didn’t call you out on it. “I’d been feeling… off about things for a while, but I wanted to pretend like I wasn’t. I wanted to pretend that everything was fine and normal between you and me, so I pushed those “off” feelings away and buried them down, and acted as if they didn’t exist. I lied a lot to myself because I was scared that I’d mess everything up. And then I saw Steve on New Year’s and we did something stupid and shitty that didn’t feel that way at the time, and that’s when I started lying to you. And all of the lying and what me and him were doing never felt completely terrible and wrong until yesterday. But, by the time I actually wanted to do the right thing and try to be a good person, it was too late. And maybe that’s actually a good thing because I would’ve just kept lying to myself and to you too if things hadn’t blown up this way.”
You were rambling and probably not making any sense right then. The thought of ruining absolutely everything still weighed so heavily on you, even though the damage was already pretty much done. There was no recovering from this and there was no “fixing” things, you realized now. However, you were still explaining and explaining and hoping that maybe things could somehow be okay.
A confused look crossed Jamie’s face. “Why didn’t you just tell me how you were feeling about us before?”
“Because I’m a coward and I wanted to avoid all of this,” You admitted. “And also because it was just so confusing. I love you, you’re my best friend, so it didn’t make sense to me why I was no longer in love with you. And the thought of having any sort of conversation about this scared the shit out of me because I don’t wanna lose you completely.”
Things became quiet for a second and Jamie looked away from you, staring straight ahead at the parking lot instead.
After a moment, he started speaking again. “Remember back in seventh grade, and I’m pretty sure most of eighth grade too, you used to make me turn around or close my eyes whenever you wanted to tell me some sort of secret?”
The abrupt subject change surprised you, but you nodded anyway. “Yeah, I remember that.”
You weren’t ever entirely sure why you would do that so much. Jamie was the first person you’d ever gotten super close to and you felt like you could tell any and all of your secrets to him, but the act of doing so scared you, so you’d make him look away whenever you did. He thought it was a little weird at first, but he came around to the antic after the first few times.
“You eventually stopped doing that and you started telling me everything right to my face,” He continued and you understood where he was going then. “I thought that meant that you felt like you could tell me anything, especially all of the shitty stuff.”
“I didn’t want to hurt you,” You said, and it was a bad excuse, but it was also honest. “And I know that I just ended up hurting you, anyway. Probably a thousand times worse than if I just told you the truth from the beginning.”
He looked at you again. “So, what’s the truth?”
You wanted to break his gaze so badly, but you forced yourself not to. “I love you, I really do, but I want things to go back to how they used to be with us. I wanna just be friends. I’m sorry.”
“Okay,” He said softly, and he didn’t sound completely hurt, but you still felt terrible.
“I’m sorry,” You told him again because it felt like the only thing to say right then.
He lightly shook his head at you, like he didn’t want you to keep saying it. “At least I don’t have to be scared of your dad anymore.”
His joke made you smile and inwardly sigh in relief; maybe things actually could somehow be okay.
“There’s literally never been any reason to be scared of him. He likes you more than me. Who else can he talk about basketball with?”
Jamie cracked a small smile at that and a comfortable silence lingered for a bit as you took a look at the time displayed across the dashboard. There were only about fifteen minutes left of lunch and it probably would’ve been a good use of your time to focus on studying for your quiz later, but you didn’t bring it up right then and you didn’t move to grab your bookbag from the backseat. This moment actually felt okay and you didn’t want to be the one to break it.
“I’m just realizing that you didn’t answer my question from before,” Jamie eventually said.
You glanced at him, confused. “What question?”
“Do you want to be with him? With Steve?”
You weren’t entirely sure how to respond to that, but you were opening your mouth to stutter out something anyway because staying silent felt like it would’ve been an answer in itself.
Before you could manage to say anything, though, Jamie continued. “Actually, no wait, never mind, I don’t think I wanna know the answer.”
He still didn’t sound entirely mad, but another soft-spoken “I’m sorry” was on the tip of your tongue. However, he was opening the door and stepping out of your car before it could fall from your lips.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
This time when the rocks began hitting your window in the middle of the night, they were expected.
You had actually called Steve asking him to come over and he didn’t say no. There was the smallest part of you that thought that maybe he would.
You pushed your window open and looked down at him standing on your front lawn. “Come up.”
A confused look crossed his face. “You’re not coming down?”
You shook your head. “No, come up.”
It was risky, your parents were right down the hall and this was pretty different from you sneaking out, but you couldn’t really find it in you to care.
The way the roof was angled made it easy for Steve to pull himself up and maneuver his way toward your bedroom window. Steve wasn’t completely graceful doing it, but he tried to be, which made it funnier, but you didn’t laugh and instead only smiled at him once he was through the window and standing in front of you.
“Did that look cooler than it felt?”
That time you couldn’t help but laugh a little. “No, sorry.”
He pushed a hand through his hair and gave you the smallest smile. “A lie would’ve been appreciated.”
“Oh, what I meant to say was that was actually the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” You told him and he laughed.
“Thank you,” He said and then slipped off his jacket and laid it on the back of your desk chair, which left him in just his white t-shirt. “I didn’t see you around school today.”
“Oh yeah, I didn’t really want to go today,” You said with a shrug that you hoped feigned the proper amount of nonchalance. Your answer was only half of the truth— you actually didn’t want to go, but you also couldn’t seem to force yourself to step out of your car after your conversation with Jamie, it felt too hard to, so you instead ended up back at the diner for another handful of hours.
You sat on the floor at the foot of your bed now, leaning back against it, and Steve followed suit, leaving only a little bit of space between you two.
You turned your head to look at him. “How bad is everything?”
“Not terrible,” He answered after the briefest moment of hesitation and you could tell that he was attempting to downplay it all for your sake. “It’ll probably blow over by Monday.”
You weren’t sure that was possible, given just how popular Steve was, but you nodded anyway and your eyes fell to your hands in your lap because it was easier than doing anything else.
Maybe he saw through the half-hearted nod because then he was whispering to you. “It’ll be okay.”
You didn’t say anything in response to those quiet words, but they did manage to soften something inside of you. You pushed away the thought of school and what Monday would look like for you; what everyone probably now thought about you and the shit people would say because of it.
You looked at Steve again and he gave you a small hopeful-looking smile that you suddenly felt like you didn’t deserve.
“I feel like I was way too mean to you this morning and I’m really sorry about that,” You abruptly told him.
Steve shook his head at your words. “It’s okay. Doesn’t matter.”
His hand found one of yours then, intertwining them. It felt like way too tender and sweet of an action, something that had never been done between you two, but it also felt entirely right.
“Did you ever think about why it was so easy for us to do it? To lie and cheat?” You asked him, not holding eye contact and instead focusing on the floor.
You knew your own answer to the question, but you wondered what his was because he never seemed entirely unhappy with Nancy, and since you two rarely ever talked about your respective relationships, you felt like you knew nothing about where his head had been.
“Honestly, I didn’t think about it.”
“Why did you do it?” You asked. “Why’d you want to kiss me that night?”
There was no pause or hesitation before he answered. “Because it was you.”
That was probably the cheesiest thing you’d ever heard, so you immediately nudged his shoulder and rolled your eyes. “Stop it. Be serious.”
“I am serious,” His hand gave yours a light squeeze, forcing you to meet his eyes. “You remember the first time we met up after school to work on that English project?”
You did remember it, but you only nodded because you really wanted to hear what he had to say about it.
“We hung out for like two hours that day. Worked on the project for a bit and then just talked about random stuff for most of the time, and it was all just so easy for some reason; so damn easy to talk to you. I looked forward to every day that we had to work on the project after that. And then I think it was one of the last few days of us doing it that you randomly mentioned that you had a boyfriend and I realized that I had zero shot with you.”
You weren’t entirely sure what you had expected Steve to say, but you knew that it wasn’t that. He was right that the conversations you two had then had been pretty effortless and nice, but hearing that he liked you all the way back then felt like something that you immediately wanted to shake your head at and deny. There hadn’t been any moments during those two weeks that gave you any indication that he liked you in that way. Yes, he was flirty, and he wasn’t even dating Nancy yet so it could’ve been plausible that he really was flirting with you, but you figured that was just his personality; everyone knew just how damn charming he was.
“And then all those months later I saw you in that backyard. And things were going fine with me and Nancy, but I suddenly really wanted to talk to you. Because you were alone, and I thought that meant that you and Jamie were over because why else would you be alone on New Year’s? But, no he was still in the picture, but you didn’t tell me to fuck off because of him, so I didn’t.”
Things got quiet for a second and before you could really even think about how to respond to that, Steve was speaking again. “Why’d you let me kiss you that night?”
“I didn’t think about it too much,” You immediately answered him, suddenly finding it so easy to be honest. “Deep down, I knew it was a bad idea, but that wasn’t enough to make me wanna stop it.”
You shifted closer to him, closing the last bit of distance between you two and leaning your head against his shoulder.
“It was the kind of bad idea that felt like a good one once it was happening if that makes sense,” You continued. “It felt nice and good and really… Right. Even though it shouldn’t have.”
“Yeah, it always felt right,” Steve agreed, voice soft. “It still does.”
A part of you couldn’t help but think that even though this moment felt right too, maybe it also shouldn’t have felt that way. But, everything else— what made this all so wrong in the first place— was already ruined and over, so perhaps it was okay to finally lean into this rightness since you wouldn’t end up feeling bad or guilty about it in the long run.
You pulled your hand away from Steve’s and then shifted so that you were in his lap, legs on either side of him and knees pushing into the carpet below you.
Your eyes met his soft brown ones that looked unsure of what you were about to do or say next.
“I really like you.”
It was the first time you were admitting it out loud and as the words fell from your lips and settled in the quiet air of your bedroom, you realized just how long you’d been aching to finally say them to him.
The smile that spread across Steve’s face practically melted your insides. “I really like you too.”
Your hands came up to settle on his shoulders as you nodded and smiled back at him. “Cool, nice to know that we both like each other.”
“Really like each other,” He corrected you and then leaned in to press the quickest kiss against your cheek, which made you laugh a little.
“Oh, sorry, you’re right,” You said and then it was your turn to lean in. You brushed your nose against his and your eyes slipped shut as you whispered your next words against his lips. “Really like each other.”
You started pulling back but Steve’s mouth chased yours, putting an abrupt end to your teasing. You gave in easily and leaned into him, returning his eagerness and inwardly sighing in contentment at the feeling of his lips on yours. Your pajama shorts rode up as you shifted in his lap and one of Steve’s hands moved to rest on the sides of your thighs to keep you steady.
You wouldn’t mind kissing him forever. It was a thought that hit you a lot in moments like this— as mouths explored and hands roamed— and this was the first time that that thought didn’t scare or worry you because it wouldn’t actually complicate things like it would have before.
You pulled away from his mouth after a moment and your lips found his neck instead. He let out a low hum the second you grazed your tongue over a particularly sensitive spot on his skin; you had discovered it the second time you two made out in his car and you adored the soft sound he made when you found it.
“You still have unicorns on the wall,” Steve abruptly said and the words felt so random that you stopped your movements.
You let out a laugh against his neck. “Shut up. Why are you bringing that up right now?”
“Sorry, I had to turn down the mood somehow,” He said and you pulled back to look at him. “Since your parents are right down the hall.”
“Well, I guess that just means that you have to be really quiet for once.”
He let out a sound that resembled both a scoff and an amused laugh. “Me?”
The tiniest hint of a smirk played on your lips as you nodded, fingers threading through the hair at the nape of his neck. “Yeah, you get really loud, Harrington.”
“I think we have very different memories of what this last month has been like,” He said and then he was tilting his head up and finding your lips again before you could potentially say anything in response to him.
His hands moved from your thighs to your hips and he pulled you down against him. There were some layers separating you two— your thin shorts and the sweatpants Steve had on— but it was still the perfect amount of friction. You were brushing roughly against the tent in his sweatpants, which made you inadvertently moan into the kiss.
“See?” Steve mumbled against your lips. “You’re the loud one.”
You pulled back a little, it was too hard not to laugh, even as you playfully rolled your eyes at him. “That was very evil.”
“I’m sorry,” He said, but smiled at you. “Come on, let’s go to my car. Maybe head to the lake? You can be as loud as you want there.”
You nodded at his teasing suggestion, but still slotted your lips against his once more, not wanting to move out of this position just yet. Steve didn’t seem to mind at all and he pulled you closer, as close as you two had been so many times before.
You could recognize that this was a weird set of circumstances and the smallest part of you was trying to figure out how much of it you’d end up looking back on and regretting— the lies and secrets that started all of this and ended up hurting people just like you knew it would. But, in this moment, you deliberately didn’t think about that. Instead, you focused on Steve and how glad you were that he was here and how happy you were to have him in your life.
You whispered those sentimental words to him moments after they hit you; labeling them as cheesy and he immediately shook his head and told you that they weren’t.
“I’m happy too,” He whispered back and one of his hands came up to find your cheek. The way he stroked your skin so tenderly made you suddenly turn shy under his gaze, but that didn’t make you want to look away from him. “That I’m here with you. And that you want me to be.”
“I think I’ll always want you to be,” You said, voice still soft and quiet, and it didn’t hit you how true those words were until they were out in the open. Maybe they were a bit blindly optimistic, but that didn’t change how much you meant them right then.
Steve kissed you again and you two stayed like that for a little longer before you moved out of his lap and the two of you finally headed to his car.

Let Me In
Eric Northman x human! Reader
Summary: inspired by scenes from ep. 3x02 & 3x03 as well as a couple other plot points in the show (but plot is quite vague anyway)
Word count: 1517
“You’re going to invite me in” he stated, slowly, in that gentle purr his voice always sounded to my ears.
I took a step back, partially to hide the jolt that went through my body at those words. “And why would I do that?”
I wondered if he could sense the change in pace of my palpitations. They were yet to invent a way to disguise that from a vampire's super hearing.
“So I can protect you” He took a step forward. Then another, equally measured. “Or have passionate primal sex with you”.
When my hands touched the wood of the door behind me he stopped, slightly tilting his head: “Possibly both”
I gulped. I didn’t even realize that I had been backing away.
“You’re not gonna distract me by talking nasty” I said, perfectly aware that I was the one trying to distract him from the effect he was having on me.
He smirked, leaning down and invading even more of my personal space. “I already have”.
“So…are you going to invite me in?”
“That’s not how it works” I scolded him, a warning look on my face.
“Pity” He leaned back. “As soon as you let me know what the rules are, I’ll be more than happy to play along”
I stared at him for a moment, different streams of thoughts racing through my brain. “Do you really think something might happen to me tonight?”
“There’s a good chance it might. Tonight, the night after that, it doesn’t make much of a difference. I’d rather be safe than sorry” He cut short.
“Alright. I am going to invite you in…” I began, placing my hand on his chest to stop him from taking another step forward. “If you promise not to cross this threshold and to leave me alone the minute I do.”
“Well, that’s no fun”
“Eric.”
He nodded. “I promise. If that’s what you want”
“It is” I lied, but he didn’t need to know that. “You will be able to sense it if I’m in some kind of trouble, right?”
“Correct.”
“Good. Then you’re officially invited to come inside, Eric Northman…if I should need your help” I specified in an eloquent tone.
“Thank you.” His hand reached out to move a strand of hair behind my ear, with a tenderness that was as unexpected as disarming coming from someone like him.
I struggled to fight back the instinct to immediately take back everything I had just said, but I couldn't help but at least smile at him.
He smiled back at me and pulled his hand away. “Goodnight, Y/N”
A moment later he had literally vanished into thin air.
I closed the door behind me with a sigh, my heart now beating wildly. Sleeping was going to be no easy feat after all that.
I tried to prepare myself calmly, retracing all the steps of my usual nighttime routine in order to banish any kind of thoughts from my mind, both the positive and the negative.
When I finally got into bed, however, it was impossible to avoid those piercing blue eyes and features so beautiful they didn't seem real, which had so often populated my recent dreams.
Even though he had cheated by giving me his blood, a part of me couldn't help but think I would have dreamed of him regardless. After all, my daydreams were much the same way.
Eric’s eyes were my last conscious thought, then only darkness. And the sound of steps. Some kind of creature was approaching me. I could hear its menacing growl clearly now. I started running as fast as I could, but it seemed like the noise was only getting louder and more frightening. I turned a dark corner and my heart dropped realizing there was no way out of it. It was a dead-end. Then all of a sudden the floor opened up under my feet and I fell into an endless dark pit.
I let out a scream so loud I must have woken myself up. I felt cold arms holding me and instinctively fought to free myself from their grip, still screaming. Did the creature that was following me finally catch me?
“Hey” Two hands were cradling my face in an instant, gently. “it’s okay, it’s me, you’re alright”
I blinked once, twice and finally the fog clouding my brain started to dissipate as I found myself back in my room, staring into those blue eyes again. But this time I was only not seeing them with my mind. Usually impenetrable, they now betrayed concern as they studied my expression intently.
“What are you doing here?” I managed to utter in the end.
He looked a little uncomfortable, as if he was afraid I might be mad at him. “I sensed your fear”
It finally hit me: the chase, the panic I felt, it was all a dream. But he couldn’t tell the difference and thought I was actually in danger. I felt a blush quickly rising to color my cheeks and I rested my head against his chest to hide my embarrassment. “Oh my god, it was a stupid nightmare”
His arms slid up and down my back, holding me close in a protective grip. “It’s definitely quite a relief”
“I’m sorry you had to come all the way here for that”
“I’m not” he said, a half-smirk curving his lips.
“Eric” I leaned back and looked up at his face, trying to recover some sense of distance between us, but we were too close this time. And there was no invisible magical barrier I could cross.
He understood what I needed, slightly loosening the grip of his arms to allow me freedom of movement, but his eyes remained locked in mine. “Do you want me to go?”
I opened my mouth to respond but not a word came out. I ran a hand through my hair nervously, eyes darting everywhere until his hand came up to gently cup my chin, forcing me to bring my attention back to him.
My eyes dropped to his lips. They looked even redder in contrast to his unnaturally pale skin.
He didn’t move, waiting, while my brain performed somersaults to find any valid excuse why I shouldn’t let this happen.
It couldn’t.
I had about half a second to be surprised at my own impetuousness as I crashed my lips against his, then my mind went blank.
My hands quickly travelled up his neck and tangled in his hair, pulling him to me as our mouths explored each other, greedy and eager.
I felt the blood rushing through my veins and speeding up my heartbeat until it was a loud pounding in my ears. I should have been frightened by how vulnerable that probably made me in his presence, but I wasn’t.
I wasn’t afraid of him or this in the slightest, everything about it felt too right. The feeling of his arms surrounding me again in secure hold, his hands gripping my shoulders and then cradling my face, his lips hungry, relentlessly pressing on mine in a silent request for access.
My mouth parted with a sigh, allowing his tongue to slip inside, deepening the kiss. Our bodies were flush against one another and in the blink of an eye he’d pulled me onto his lap and my hands moved to his shoulders to regain my balance, lips still locked together in a restless dance.
“Hey!” I jokingly protested, finally parting for air after what felt like a two-hour apnea. “Some of us here still need to breathe”
“Mmm, you know that’s something I can easily remedy” He grinned, lips teasingly trailing up my neck and leaving nothing but small kisses behind.
“Don’t even think about that”
“What a shame” His eyes found mine again, thumb lightly stroking my cheek. “You’d make a stunning vampire”
I simply smiled at that, leaning down to capture his lips again. The kiss was slower this time, less frantic; but languid, our lips slowly taking their time to savor each other.
I felt him grin into the kiss as my hands moved in the small space between our bodies and started unbuttoning his shirt.
“Wait a minute” I abruptly stopped and shot him a worried look. “You can’t stay here”
He raised both eyebrows in disbelief. “You cannot be serious right now”
“No, I mean…what about the sun?”
He burst into a soft chuckle, shaking his head. “Good thing you people have invented blinds”
“True, guess humans aren’t all that bad, uh? ” I smirked.
“They have their moments” He conceded, looking at me.“But you do realize” he began, tone dropping suggestively, “that means I’m going to be stuck in this room for the entire day, right?”
I bit my bottom lip and shamelessly let my eyes wander over his messy hair and the half-unbottoned shirt on his chest, drinking it all in: he was one to talk about “stunning”. Then I brought my lips close to his ear: “I’m sure I can think of a way to keep you occupied”

i have a request if possible ? for a tara carpenter x reader , or any jo character as you see fit , but in my head , it’s always been tara and no gf au-
so basically , if you’re familiar with 5 seconds of summer , every time i listen to them (their self titled album, specifically heartbreak girl) i always come up with like scenarios of r, mindy, amber and wes being 5sos basically and having r write that song about tara and how she’s always calling/texting r about the problems she’s having with chad without realizing that r is in love with her
which ofc leads r to go to amber, mindy and wes to write that song together and having them preform at a local bar/club or something because they’re locally known and tara, sam, chad and the rest of the friend group is in the crowd, being supportive- but once they hear the song , they immediately know who it’s about and just look at tara awkwardly , and- that’s as far as i’ve gotten
Heartbreak Girl
Tara Carpenter x gn!Reader (Request)
First of all, thank you for the request, it kind of just flowed out and here it is. I went with gender-neutral Reader since you didn't specify the gender. I hope you'll enjoy reading this.
Masterlist
Word count: 2.7k
"I know I should have seen it coming, but it still hurts, you know? I still love Chad, I just can't get over him," she sobbed, and you stopped pacing around your room to lean back and rest your head against the wall. You knew the story, you heard it from Tara countless times, and you may have heard it from Mindy even before Tara told you, mostly because Mindy got a bit pissed that Chad would end his relationship with Tara like that. Tara and Chad were in a relationship, they worked the summer job together and met Liv. Chad fell in love and broke up with Tara. The rest was history, and Tara, sharing Chad's circle of friends, and still being in love with him, couldn't move on.
One time Tara told you she figured it would be easier if he cheated on her. He didn't. He just sat down with her one day and said how he felt. Two weeks later Chad and Liv went on their first date and the circumstances kept Tara and Chad as somewhat friends.
"I'm sorry for being a bother, Y/N," she must have noticed your silence.
"You're not being a bother, Tara, I just don't know what to say that I already didn't tell you before," you bit your bottom lip, knowing full well you were lying. You knew what you wanted to say. You wanted to tell her you loved her, that in her heartbreak she kept breaking your heart too. Another sob made you speak before you could think things through. "Let's go out, just the two of us," you suggest, realizing too late what you were saying. "As friends, of course, just to get your mind off of everything," you quickly backtracked, hoping the explanation was sufficient enough, hoping she couldn't hear the nervous tapping of your foot against the floor, or the crack in your voice when you said 'friends' or anything else that could give you away.
Because, as much as you loved her, as much as you wanted to be with her, you didn't want to push her into another relationship when she was vulnerable and still heartbroken. You also didn't want to be her way of getting over Chad and nothing more. And you absolutely didn’t want to take advantage of her emotional turmoil.
"I'd love to, Y/N," it sounded like she stopped crying, thought she still sniffled a bit. "Thanks for being my friend and always being there to cheer me up," her words, even if you just encouraged them yourself, still hurt you.
"Don't mention it, I'm here for you," you brushed it off, subconsciously hoping maybe, just maybe, she'd realize how you feel on her own. You had no idea how mixed the signals you were sending her looked every now and then. In less than a minute you went from proclaiming friendly hanging out to promising to be there for her. "When do you want to meet up?"
Tara paused for a moment. "I'll call you tomorrow at ten to figure that out. Is that okay?"
You nodded and then frowned when you realized a moment later you were on the phone with her. "Of course."
And so you said your goodbyes, and you just slumped into the chair and dropped your head down to the table. A bit recklessly you tossed the phone to the bed on your side and silently expressed gratitude that it didn't hit the wall or drop to the floor. You sighed and placed your hands over your head, feeling like you were stuck in a never-ending cycle with Tara Carpenter.
Against your better judgment, you grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and began writing.
~X~
The friend date went well, better than you imagined it would and you and Tara hung out an hour longer than either of you anticipated. It was a nice change of pace and for a moment you actually convinced yourself you didn't feel anything romantic for her. For a moment, you were reminded of simpler times, when Tara really was just a friend in your eyes. That time was a long time ago, but sometimes you wished you could go back to that, at the very least everything was much simpler back then.
The paper waiting for you at your table broke that illusion and you grabbed your guitar, maybe you had something here after all. As you sat down to try different tunes you sent a message to the band, Mindy, Wes, and Amber, asking to meet up tomorrow for an additional practice.
~X~
The four of you met up in your garage where you kept your instruments, the guitars, and drums, anything else you needed you would just rent out for a couple of days. You were still a local band, so renting still saved you money.
"Let me see if I got everything right. You," Amber pointed at you, almost accusingly. "wrote this song about Tara and you don't want to confess how you feel?" she asked incredulously.
"Come on, it's not that obvious," you defended yourself and pointed at a line in the song. "See? Chad didn't exactly treat her bad, he just broke up with her."
"Yeah, sure, one line is going to convince everyone it isn't about Tara," Mindy added sarcastically and threw her arms up. "It's there for the dramatic effect, Y/N! Remember?" well, yeah, but still, were you really that obvious?
"She got you there," Wes wasn't helping.
You picked up your guitar and began playing the tune you thought would work well with the song. "Listen, I think we got something good here," you tried to focus on the song itself. "Regardless of who it was written for," you muttered.
"You're kidding, right? A sad tune? You're making this a ballad? No way," Mindy went to her drums. "This needs more energy," judging by the tone of her voice she wasn't budging on this. Well, at least she was on board.
"We are totally adding 'Thanks for being a friend' to the lyrics," Amber teased and you just groaned and buried your face in your hands.
"Don't forget being a sucker for anything Tara does," Wes joined in, causing all three of them to laugh at you.
"You're the worst," you muttered, too embarrassed to look at them. As it was the song that maybe could have passed as, you know, not absolutely obvious, might as well be named ‘Tara’ with how specific it was turning out to be.
~X~
Over the next month and a half, you and Tara fell into a bit of a habit. The first two weeks she continued sobbing, and you'd ask her to hang out. The week after that she just complained and you still asked her to hang out. The past few weeks she rarely even mentioned Chad during your calls, but she still insisted you were friends.
Honestly, just the fact that she seemed to be moving on as weeks went by mended your own heart. Somewhere along the line, you found out you were fine with the way things were. In a relationship or as friends, you wanted Tara in your life.
You walked her to her house, the backs of your hands occasionally brushing as you walked. The accidental touches became something both of you were comfortable with, as neither of you moved away from each other.
"You'll be performing tomorrow night, right?" Tara asked out of the blue.
You glanced at her and your eyes met. "Yeah. Are you going to come?" it wouldn't be the first time Tara would be in the crowd. Tara, Sam, Chad, Danny, Anika, and Liv were all supportive of your band, so they regularly came to your performances.
"You're not really asking that, are you? Of course, I'm going to come," she lightly jabbed your arm. "Besides, Mindy might have told me you guys have a new song you'll be performing for the first time in front of a crowd."
That little traitor. You cleared your throat to buy yourself a few extra seconds to get it together.
With the way things were going between you and Tara, you were almost tempted to scrap the song, but the other three voted against it. "No pressure then, it's not like we haven't had a new song in almost four months now," what could you say, it was a bit of a drought period as far as creativity went.
Tara laughed and just for a moment you thought you saw something else in her eyes, something similar to the way you would so often look at her. "You'll do great," she offered a much-needed encouragement as the two of you stopped in front of her house.
"Guess this is it for tonight," you smiled at her.
"Mhm, I'm glad I was the one to ask you out tonight, as friends, of course," she took a step closer and tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. And then you froze when she got on her tiptoes and kissed your cheek. "Thank you, for always being there for me," somehow, this time she omitted the friend part.
"I," you cleared your throat once more. "did say I'd be here for you, didn't I?" you tried to brush it off as you usually did for months now.
The intensity of Tara's gaze captured all of your attention and for a moment you even considered leaning in. You didn't though, you weren't sure she felt the same, or that she actually moved on.
"I'll see you tomorrow night, then?" she asked, lowering her gaze to your lips before quickly looking away.
You noticed it, and you wondered if Tara could hear how loud your heart was drumming in your chest. "Y-yeah," you finally stepped back from her, and the tension you were trying so hard to ignore began fading.
~X~
Tara pretty much threw herself on her bed and buried her face in her pillow. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all. What was wrong with her? Falling in love with you so quickly and almost out of nowhere. Especially when you so explicitly insisted on hanging out as friends. Perhaps you were insisting too hard to cover your own feelings? A girl could hope, right?
She turned her playlist on, hoping to find some peace in music. As if to spite her, the first song that played was Brian Fallon's You Have Stolen My Heart and she nearly chucked her phone into a wall. Groaning she turned around and tucked herself into a blanket. It was entirely your fault. With your charming smile and clumsy mixed signals, she could never get a good read on them.
~X~
You were amazing on that improvised stage, just mesmerizing to watch and listen to and Tara found herself falling even harder. She also found herself ignoring Sam's teasing smile.
"Thank you, thank you! You are too kind! We'll wrap up the night with a premiere of our new song!" Wes yelled, hyping up the crowd.
"Let's hear an applause for Heartbreak Girl!" Mindy demanded, encouraging the crowd to interact with the four of you.
Tara was pulled to her feet by Anika and they both cheered. The name of the song, however, made Tara's heart skip a beat. Or was it the way you looked at her from the stage?
"You call me up, it's like a broken record, saying that your heart hurts. That you'll never get over him getting over you, and you end up crying. And I end up lying, 'cause I'm just a sucker for anything that you do," you sang, your eyes never leaving Tara's. It felt like there was no one else in the club but the two of you. But you weren't alone, and Tara felt the awkward stares directed at the back of her head.
Did you actually write a song for her?
"And when the phone call finally ends, you say "Thanks for being a friend" and I'm going in circles again and again," now she had no doubt, that the song really was about her. She stopped cheering and just stood there, taking the lyrics in.
She saw you hesitating, probably since you noticed her reaction, and she just smiled. You smiled back and continued.
"I dedicate this song to you, the one who never sees the truth, that I can take away you hurt, Heartbreak girl. Hold you tight straight through the daylight, I'm right here, when you gonna realize that I'm your cure, Heartbreak girl?" did you...? Were you saying what she thought you were saying?
She wasn't reading this wrong, was she?
"I bite my tongue, but I wanna scream out, you could be with me now. But I end up telling you what you wanna hear, but you're not ready. And it's so frustrating, he treats you so bad and I'm so good to you, it's not fair," her heart skips a beat as you continue, quoting the promise to call you tomorrow at ten and once again singing the chorus.
"I know someday it's gonna happen, and you'll finally forget the day you met him. Sometimes I'm so close to confession, I gotta get it through your head, that you belong with me instead," the look in your eyes, the eyes that told her 'This is it, I can't take it back now' it vanquished any doubt she may have had about how you felt.
She just wondered how long you felt that way about her without saying anything? Definitely before you first asked her to hang out as friends, but how long before that? And she felt like apologizing, for not noticing how you felt, for leaning on you for support even if it hurt you as well. And at the same time she fell even harder, because you were there for her even with everything you were feeling you were giving her all the time she needed.
~X~
The moment you ended the song and without any idea where the sudden boldness was coming from you jumped down from the stage and went over to Tara. You took a few deep breaths as you closed the distance and offered her your hand, the guitar still in your other hand.
Yeah, you didn't quite think that through.
Tara raised an eyebrow, clearly looking at the guitar, but then shrugged and took your hand.
"Uh, what now?" you asked sheepishly.
"Isn't that something you were supposed to figure out? Before you jumped down and came over?" she gave you a cheeky, teasing smile.
"I didn't think I'd get this far," you admitted, causing Tara to laugh.
"Just go behind the stage dumbass!" Mindy yelled, with the microphone still on. "And leave the guitar there while you're at it!"
You lowered your head and winced, trying to hide the embarrassment clearly visible on your face. Tara wasn't doing much better as she quickly pulled you behind the stage to escape the teasing.
You packed the guitar as both of you took time to compose yourself and catch a breath. "I really didn't think this through, did I?" you asked.
"No," Tara sat down on the chair near you. "You really didn't," she was fiddling with the loose thread on her shirt.
"I meant it, the song. Well, at least when I wrote it a month and a half ago," you decided to just be honest with her.
Tara raised her head to look at you, you could see hopefulness and uncertainty in her gaze. "What changed?"
You approached and sat down next to her. "I don't think you are still heartbroken," you took her hand.
Tara smiled. "I'm not. I'm in love with a clumsy musician that sucks at flirting," she leaned closer to you.
"Hey, it worked," you closed the distance, capturing her lips in a soft, gentle kiss. "Mhm, how about we go on a proper date then?" she asked when the kiss ended and you couldn't think of any better idea.

fake valentine
sunwoo x reader
sunric valentine's day special pt 1. you ask sunwoo, who's your roommate and the perfect guy, to pretend to be your boyfriend for a valentine's day couples contest. little did you know, he has very large feelings for you...
genre: tooth-rotting cotton candy type fluff, roommates to lovers, fake relationship/taking pictures pretending to be a couple, shy and whipped sunwoo, wearing his hoodie!!! holding hands, sweet kisses, confessions, reader is bold and competitive notes: is it too early for valentines day? yes and i don't care 😚 word count: 6.4k
You never cared for Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t because you were jealous or sulky about having no one to spend it with or being lonely without anyone to kiss. You’ve heard about those types of complaints plenty of times from your friends. You simply found it irrelevant and not a day to spend so much time on when you could be doing anything else.
But that was then and this is now.
Now you cared. You were lying in bed, staring at your phone screen in complete awe.
Annual Valentine’s Day Couples Contest!
Win a mystery prize for posting pictures with the most likes!
You quickly sat up, your eyes brightening. One would think that you were focused on the “couples” part of the title. But no, you were instead eyeing the words, “contest” and “prize.” Anyone who knew you was aware that you adored competition. No matter how stupid the competition was, the thrill of competing and possibly winning a prize for your hard work was, what you believed, the most beautiful thing of life. Your friends would stare at you weirdly.
You didn’t even care if you didn’t know what the mystery prize actually was. It must be money or food. Either way, you looked up with a determined look. You were going to win this, even if you didn’t exactly have anyone to be a couple with.
Just as you were mulling over the possible choices, the door unlocked to your dorm. That was when you gasped in realization. He was right in front of you. He would be perfect.
“Be careful, Y/n.” Sunwoo walked in, shivering with flurries of snow decorating his fluffy hair. “It’s cold and slippery outside. I almost made a whole fool of mys–”
“Would you be my boyfriend?”
And almost like the wood floor was suddenly slick with ice, he slipped and almost fell flat on his face if it weren’t for the desk that he so desperately held on to. After regaining his balance, he stood up, brushed himself off, and then stared at you as if to silently ask, Are you absolutely crazy?
“Don’t give me that look,” you grumbled.
“W-we haven’t even gone on a proper date. I planned it out alre–” He choked once he realized that you were looking at him in amusement.
“You…” You had to suppress a laugh. “You already planned out a date for me? But we’re only roommates.”
His cheeks were already tinted red from the bitter cold outside. But for some reason, they reddened even more if that was possible. “I was kidding…” He looked away as he took off his coat and set down his bag. He shivered slightly before sitting next to you, still unable to look you in the eye.
You giggled and pulled out your phone, showing him the contest. “I should have specified for you to be my fake boyfriend.”
He stared at it blankly before turning to you with disbelief. “You want to fake being a couple just so you can win a prize that you don’t even know what it is?”
You nodded as if that was the most normal thing to say ever. “Yes. Is that so bad?”
He narrowed his eyes. “We’re just roommates. This is cheating.”
You scoffed. “Fine then.”
“That’s it?” He widened his eyes, giving you one of those round, puppy-like gazes that always made it hard for you to tease him. “No objections?”
You shrugged with an exaggerated frown. “No,” you sighed, much louder than needed. To add to the effect, you even scooted away from him and crossed your arms over your chest. In the corner of your eye, you could see him reach out to you with worry. And to make things just that much worse, you muttered a quiet, “I guess I’ll find someone else then.”
“No!” He blurted out, suddenly reaching forward and grabbing your hand. When you turned to him while biting back a smile, you realized that he was pouting.
“Oh? So you change your mind.”
“Don’t…” He bit his lip nervously. “Don’t go with anyone else.”
Finally, your grin broke through. Your excitement washed over you like a wave to the seashore as you quickly scooted back towards him. He stared at you in surprise. But to his further shock, you leaned close, right up against him so that your lips were only centimeters away from his.
He looked like he was about to explode.
“What are you doing?” He whispered, his expression adorably flustered.
You smiled lazily. “Just getting into character.”
He furrowed his eyebrows and tried to avoid your eyes but failed miserably. His voice was shaky as he asked, “By leaning closer?”
“Mhm,” you hummed. “Do you want me to do more?”
You could tell that Sunwoo’s mind flashed to… other scenarios when you said that. But putting those possible images aside, you cupped his face with your hands. Then, you squeezed them and started rambling.
“My sweet, sweet boyfriend. Aren’t you cold? Do you want me to kiss it away? And–” You cut yourself off with a snort, unable to take any of this seriously. Sunwoo was your roommate of a few years. It was different to pretend like you were dating him after accidentally falling asleep in his bed so many times.
“This is so funny,” you laughed. “Can you believe what I just said?” Except you trailed off when you looked up, only to see that he was staring at you with big eyes and red cheeks. There was a sort of hopefulness behind his gaze and you could almost feel his heart which was beating a mile a minute. “Wait a minute. You…”
“No,” he whispered, cringing as if he already knew what you were going to say.
“You liked it. You liked me babying you!” You exclaimed in revelation.
He groaned. “I didn’t.”
“You did.” You smiled wider. “What should I call you? My love?”
He stared at you, clearly not fazed.
“Angel? Cutie pie?”
He looked away and grumbled, “You’re embarrassing me.”
“Hm…” You leaned against his shoulder. The two of you were close as such. Though you only met through just being roommates, you got along perfectly well. Sunwoo who was significantly less energetic than you, always treated you well and tended to cheer you up when you were down. You did the same for him, always cracking jokes just to see that laugh and smile that rarely appeared.
You looked up at him, causing him to gulp and stare back. “What about baby?”
It seemed that you had hit the center of the target. That pet name was enough to send him reeling and then clearing his throat. He turned away and tried to cover his face with his hands.
“I… I hate it,” he whispered.
“Doesn’t seem like it,” you teased back. “Baby.” You marveled at the way he blushed further as he stood up abruptly and made his way to his bed that was just across yours. And like the absolute fool he was, he plopped down and screamed in his pillow.
You laughed loudly. “You do know I’m still here, right?”
“I’m ignoring you,” he mumbled, his voice muffled in the pillow.
“You can’t,” you sang. “We still have to take cute couple pictures.”
“I’ll get back to you later.”

Sunwoo approached you cautiously the next day. His hands fidgeted and he still struggled to look you in the eye.
“Let’s do it.”
“Just like that?” You stared at him slyly.
He nodded quietly. “Don’t… don’t make me take it back.”
“Okay,” you giggled. “I already have an idea for the first picture.”
“And that is?” He raised an eyebrow as he watched you get up from your bed. You walked over to his closet and opened it. He was suspicious, observing how you rummaged through his clothes before pulling out one of his hoodies. You held it up over your body and looked at him for confirmation. Except, he had no idea what exactly he was confirming.
“You want me to wear it?” He frowned.
You shook your head. “Can I wear it?”
His eyes widened comically. His gaze wandered over you again, but this time, taking note of how the hoodie was significantly larger on you than on him. “Wear… my hoodie?”
You nodded enthusiastically. When you caught on to how unsure he looked, you gave him a pleading look. Sunwoo gulped. You knew how hard it was for him to say no if you put on the right expression.
“Fine.”
With ease, almost like you had stolen his hoodie before already, you pulled it over your head. Immediately, it consumed you in warmth and it smelled just like him. You held your arms out and turned back to him, tilting your head questioningly.
“What do you think?”
The man simply could not even speak. He had no words but you could tell just by looking at him. He blinked and looked away, his ears turning an alarming red. His hands grasped onto the bed as if to try to keep himself from somehow falling off it.
“You…” His voice trailed off, looking back to you. Previously, he was just avoiding his eyes but now he couldn’t keep his eyes off you. You liked it when he looked at you like that–so admiringly with a soft gaze. It made you feel weird inside. “Cute. You look cute.”
You laughed. “Thank you.” You approached him and held your hand out to gesture him to get up. But instead of following your gesture, he straight up took hold of your hand, his thumb caressing the back of it. “Oh.” You stared at him, wide-eyed. Still, you quickly recovered and led him over to the nearby mirror set up in your dorm.
You stood in front of him and gently led him to stand close behind you.
Then, you said something that left him coughing on plain air.
“Backhug me.”
“What?” He squawked. Yet again, he was blushing. You didn’t know you were that capable of making him blush so much.
When you stared at him expectantly, he could only sigh. Hesitantly, you felt two arms tentatively being wrapped around your waist. His hold was gentle, almost like he was afraid to hurt you in some way. He leaned closer and tightened his embrace ever so slightly. You couldn’t help but feel your heart skip a beat at the way he held you so gently and warmly.
“Like this?” He whispered into your ear.
A quick “mhm!” was all you could reply with. You pulled your phone out and positioned it to take a picture of the mirror reflection. When you zoomed in, you could see how embarrassed Sunwoo was as he rested his chin on your shoulder. You suppressed a giggle. “You can hide your face if you want. It can create suspense.”
He happily obliged as he turned his head to instead hide his face in the crook of your neck. You tried not to shiver at how his lips and breath brushed against your skin.
The picture turned out perfectly with how his arms wrapped around you firmly and your giddy smile could be seen. Only Sunwoo’s fluffy hair was visible as he nuzzled into your neck. You couldn’t help but think… why did this look so realistic?
“Okay,” you whispered, patting his hand. “We’re done.”
But even after that, Sunwoo refused to let go. Instead, he held you closer, pulling your back to his chest. You gasped quietly.
“Sunwoo?”
“I like holding you like this,” he mumbled, almost sleepily. It was like he was in some sort of trance.
Your heart was beating a million times faster now. “You like hugging me? Do you want to do it everyday then?”
He looked up and quickly pulled away as if he just realized what he was doing. “I–” When he caught sight of your teasing face, he groaned and pulled away. “Forget what I said.”
“I don’t think I can.” You grinned. “Hug me again if you want.”
He stared longingly like he really did want to. But instead, he tore his gaze away and headed into your shared bathroom, mumbling to himself.
“What was I thinking?”
You couldn’t help but smile fondly. Who knew your roommate could be so endearing?

“You know what would be cute?” You stood at his bed. Sunwoo was lying down, watching something on his phone as he stared up at you skeptically. You didn’t even allow him to answer. “Candid photos.”
“Candid photos?” He furrowed his eyebrows with confusion. His eyes traveled down to where you slightly shivered from the cold weather. Almost immediately like it was the most natural thing, he held up the blankets so that you could climb in. You happily obliged, snuggling up to his warm body.
This was what you meant by “accidentally falling asleep on his bed so many times.” He always offered you his bed when you were cold and somehow, you would open your eyes to the morning sun.
“Candid photos!” You exclaimed, causing him to wince ever so slightly. “And they have to be real. You know, the type where you really have no idea that the camera’s on you.”
“How’re we gonna do that?” He muttered, yawning. “We’re always aware of each other.” It was only the afternoon yet for some reason, whenever you were cuddled up to him, he became a lot more sleepy.
You thought for a moment before shrugging. “I don’t know, it was just an idea. I doubt it’ll really work out.”
He hummed silently before he readjusted the blankets over you, prioritizing your warmth over his. You smiled and began to start rambling about random topics that came up in your head. That was what you liked about Sunwoo. He was quiet but he always listened.
But maybe… always was an overstatement.
You paused abruptly. Sunwoo had fallen asleep, his lips pulled into a natural pout. You couldn’t help but look at him in endearment.
“Do I talk too much?”
When he didn’t respond, you sighed and were about to leave the bed. But then, a hand caught your wrist, pulling you back in.
“You don’t talk too much,” he mumbled.
“You’re… awake?”
“Barely. Now keep on talking. I like it.”
Your heart swelled.

You were slowly losing your battle with exhaustion. You sat at the library desk, your eyesight growing blurry as you stared hopelessly at your computer. You needed to finish up an assignment but the lack of sleep was definitely getting to you.
To no avail, your head slumped down and you quickly fell asleep with your cheek resting in your arms.
It took Sunwoo, who was studying next to you, a while to notice that your typing had long stopped. But when he did, he peered down at you to make sure you were okay. Of course, you were. You just fell asleep.
He shook his head. Typical. Yet he couldn’t let go of the fond smile that overtook his lips.
He took off his jacket and draped it over your shoulders. Then, he sat back down next to you and chose to simply admire your features. His heart bloomed and his feelings grew impossibly larger.
Pretty even when asleep.
After admiring you for a little while longer, he spotted his phone nearby and came up with an amazing idea. He opened the camera and took a picture, making sure not to get any bad angles of you. He smiled adoringly at the picture.
Your eyes were shut and your cheek was squished against your arm. But even so, he thought you were just beautiful. In the very corner of the picture, his hand was resting on your head, stroking through your hair ever so gently. As quietly as he could, he put down his phone and returned to stroking your hair.
And even after you woke up and the two of you headed back together, he still found himself staring at the picture late at night with a stupidly bewitched smile.

You giggled quietly at the amount of likes and comments that the two of you had received from the first picture. Your eyes landed on one of the comments made by your very own friend.
finally !!!! 🥰
“Finally?” You mumbled to yourself, staring at your phone perplexed. You looked up to steal a glance at Sunwoo, only to find him sitting at his desk, earphones plugged in. He was writing things down in a notebook but you were more focused on his handsome face.
You were no stranger to the fact that Sunwoo was a good-looking guy. He had pretty yet masculine features, pouty lips, and what you liked the most–his fluffy hair. Sometimes but very rarely, he let you play with it.
Where you were sitting was the perfect angle to capture his sharp jawline. You quickly brought up your phone and snapped a picture.
“Aha!” You suddenly yelled, loud enough for Sunwoo to startle and pull off his earphones. He stared at you in alarm. You were standing up, looking at your phone like you had just won the lottery. “I got it! The candid photo.” You held up your phone, showing off the picture you took of him sitting at his desk.
His cheeks flushed as his eyes scanned over it.
“Why now?” He whined.
“You looked handsome.”
Sunwoo froze, his whole body going rigid. “I did?”
“Of course baby.”
He scowled, trying his best to look annoyed but ultimately failed. You could see how embarrassed he was over being complimented and from that particular pet name.
“Don’t call me that,” he mumbled.
“Okay.”
His head snapped up. “Wait actually–”
“Okay, baby.” You grinned at him with amusement. You knew that he was going to immediately take his words back. Once he heard the pet name again, he practically melted at the sound of it.
“Oh, I…” He pulled out his phone. “I took one of you too.”
You widened your eyes in surprise. “You did? When?”
“Yesterday,” he shyly replied. He showed you the picture of you asleep in the library after failing to finish an already overdue assignment. You cringed and hid your face.
“Agh, I look bad,” you complained, a blush appearing on your face. Sunwoo quickly noticed and he stared at you in absolute awe. He thought you were cute like this.
“Why?” He frowned, completely serious. “I thought you looked really pretty.”
“Whoa,” you gasped. “Since when were you so bold?”
He stared at you for a moment as if it was still registering in his head what he just said. And then he coughed awkwardly and averted his gaze. “I won’t take it back.”
You pulled on his arm, letting him sit beside you. “And why’s that?”
“Because it’s true,” he whispered. “You look pretty. All the time.”
Your lips parted as you stared at him in shock. When you asked about him being bold, you didn’t expect him to become even more so. “Sunwoo,” you breathed out. This was normal for roommates, right?
His eyes wandered down to your lips for a brief second before he frantically checked the watch. “I have a meeting with my professor. I– I should go.”
“Wait–”
But he was already grabbing his bag, putting on his shoes, and scrambling out the door. You furrowed your eyebrows and checked the date. His professor certainly wasn’t in office that day. So why exactly did he run away?

“How’d the meeting with your professor go?” You crossed your arms over your chest with a raised eyebrow.
He cringed and avoided your eyes. “I didn’t meet with him.”
“Just as I thought,” you hummed. “But you run away after telling me I’m pretty?” Without even realizing it, you were practically interrogating him, backing him up against the door. He swallowed thickly as he stared down at you with flushed cheeks. You frowned further, noticing how he tried so very hard to avoid your gaze—a clear sign of a lie. “Am I missing something here?”
You couldn’t help but overthink. Was it you? Did you maybe do something wrong that made him regret complimenting you? You would admit that the way he called you pretty with such a low yet admiring voice made your heart flutter ever so slightly. So why did he take it back so quickly?
“Y/n.” He sighed with defeat. His eyes scanned over your face, doused with skepticism and worry. And to your surprise, he was the one who stepped forward, tugging on your arm and pulling you to his chest. “I’m sorry. I got embarrassed.” His voice quieted and you could feel his heartbeat speed up.
You inhaled in surprise, pulling away to stare up at him. “You ran away because you were… shy?” Your eyes soon began to glint with wonder.
He nodded quietly.
“That’s–” you snorted. “That’s so cute.”
“What?” He choked.
“You know you can say anything to me, right? Sunwoo, how could you be so…” Your hands came up to swipe away the hair that fell over his face, revealing his forehead. You had the sudden need to kiss it, but quickly stomped that thought away. Instead, you simply chose to just look into his eyes with an endeared smile, one that sent his face softening and the hand around your waist tightening anxiously.
“So?” He pried shyly.
“So perfect.” You grinned, continuing to play with his hair. Usually, he would flinch or get startled. But this time, he almost melted into your touch like a puppy. After a few more minutes of combing your fingers through his hair, you suddenly pulled away, much to his disliking. You almost missed the way he tried to reach forward for you again.
“Baby, let’s go out on a date,” you spoke casually, almost like you two were a real couple. He tilted his head in confusion.
“Like…”
“Let’s fake go out,” you corrected yourself, overlooking the way his shoulders sank ever so slightly. “Our last post was so popular–the one with the candid photos? So many people are rooting for us.”
Sunwoo quickly brightened when he noticed how wide you were smiling. He always liked it when you were happy. And so, he reached for his coat and beckoned for the door. “Then let’s go.” He charmingly smiled at you back, one that almost made you forget to grab your own coat too.

The two of you opted to take a walk in the park. The weather was beautiful with its bright blue skies and perfectly angled sun. Though, it was still chilly causing you to huddle up to Sunwoo’s side which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy.
“Though this is an early Valentine’s Day contest, do you have an actual valentine when the day comes?” You peered up at him curiously.
He stared at you for a moment before shaking his head sheepishly. “No, I don’t have one.” He paused and looked at you cautiously. “Do you?”
You replied similarly with a shake of your head. Oddly, Sunwoo seemed to relax at your answer.
“Then… wouldn’t you saw that we would be perfect for each other?” You asked teasingly. “Considering we both don’t have anyone.”
You expected Sunwoo to maybe laugh at your joke or refute it with a roll of his eyes. But instead, he gave you a stupidly soft smile as he hummed approvingly. “I’d think so. I think I…” He puffed his chest out. “Would be perfect for you.”
You gaped at him before sputtering with a laugh. You leaned into him, your laughter causing you almost to topple over. “Are you serious?”
“Yes,” he huffed. “Don’t I look serious?”
You raised an eyebrow and stared at how he somehow tried to make himself look tougher and taller. “No.”
He made an incoherent sound with his throat before deflating with defeat. You couldn’t help but giggle, hopelessly endeared. “Sunwoo.”
“Hm?”
“You would be perfect for me,” you said. “Just… you know, without trying to look taller and bigger. I think I like you just how you are.” You scrunched your nose and pinched his cheek.
Sunwoo looked at you with hope in his eyes. “Really?”
“Really.”
He blushed profusely as he desperately tried to come up with some sort of response. All he could come up with was a stuttering, “I like you just how you are too.”
“Thank you,” you teased. Then, you suddenly stopped him. Without an explanation, you ran over to a nearby bench to set your phone down, facing the trail that the two of you were just walking on. He stared at you curiously as you pressed record. “Let’s keep walking,” you spoke, breathlessly.
He smiled, slowly catching on. Your initial plan was to record you walking alongside him while chatting. But instead, your plan came falling down.
Sunwoo was the one who took hold of your hand. His hands were cool but gentle as he hesitantly intertwined his fingers with yours, locking you in his hold. He stared down at you with an absolutely lovesick smile that sent you briefly spiraling with confusion before you decided to push those feelings down to decipher for later.
You experimentally swung his hand making him laugh and tighten his hold on your hand.
“Don’t let go,” he whispered after leaning close to your ear. It was like he didn’t want your phone to pick up his words—like he wanted to preserve affection only for you.
“I won’t.” You grinned. You suddenly felt a huge surge of affection and you leaned your head on his shoulder. He tilted his body slightly so it was more comfortable.
“Do roommates act like we do?” You asked quietly. “You confuse me, Sunwoo.”
His thumb caressed your hand and you could feel the beat of his heart resonate through yours. “I don’t know. But all I know is that I care for you, Y/n.”
You felt your throat go dry. You started to wonder if you were completely oblivious all this time—that maybe his smiles and his tentative touches on you meant something completely else. You weren’t just incredibly close roommates but… something else. Yet, you didn't know what.
“I think we need to talk later,” you whispered.
You felt Sunwoo stiffen next to you and his hand pulled away slightly.

After walking back to your shared dorm with his hand grasped in yours and his jacket now wrapped around your shoulders because you got cold, the two of you sat down on the bed. A silence had befallen the two of you–hesitant and full of possibilities good or bad.
“Sunwoo,” you finally spoke up, turning to him with a concerned face. “I need to ask you something.”
His fists clenched nervously in his lap. “Yeah?”
“What did… all this mean to you? This fake couple thing that we had going on.” You didn’t even know the answer yourself. In the very beginning, you were sure this would just be a simple facade so that you could satisfy your craving for competition. But it no longer was a facade. It was something that left your feelings jumbled into a tangle of romantic emotions for your roommate.
His eyes shifted away. Already, you could tell there was going to be a lie that would leave his lips.
“Nothing. I just wanted to help you.”
“Really?” You inquired slowly.
“Yeah,” he whispered untruthfully. “I– I have to meet a friend now. So–” He got up and almost made his way to the door if you hadn’t held onto his hand and pulled him back to face you. You stepped backward only to realize that you had already run out of space and he was now cornering you against the desk.
You widened your eyes, glancing down to where one hand of his was holding onto yours while the other was resting on the desk. You were close, too close and you didn’t know what to do. It seemed Sunwoo didn’t know either.
“What are we doing?” He quietly asked, his voice low. His gaze shifted across your features nervously.
You furrowed your eyebrows. “Why don’t you tell me?”
“Y/n…”
“First, you call me pretty all the time with those stupid soft eyes and sweet smiles. And then you supposedly stroked my hair while I was asleep? And you– you say that you care for me which, didn’t sound like how a mere friend would say it.” You groaned, a blush appearing on your cheeks. “I just don’t get it.”
“Y/n,” he said again. When you looked up, you realized that he was smiling at you and only you. His gaze was yet again gentle and warm as he let go of your hand and the desk, instead opting to snake them around your waist to pull you into his embrace.
You gasped quietly. And then you grumbled, cursing yourself for relaxing into his warm hold. “Why do you always hug me like this?”
He didn’t answer just yet, instead pulling away to simply stare at your face as if to silently tell you that you were beautiful. When you looked closely, you could see that his ears were red and his pupils dilated.
“And why…” You breathed out shakily. “Why do you look at me like that?”
Even when you tried to glare at him to make him look away, he just kept on looking at you like that. It was like ice how his face would just melt whenever you would come in sight. Sometimes his lips would pull into a pout when he was worried about you. Other times, he would have this faint smile full of fondness whenever you so much as laugh.
And finally, Sunwoo answered. It was quiet and filled with insecurity but you could hear it anyway.
“Because I want you to be my real valentine. I… really like you, Y/n.”
You could feel the walls that you tried to build up quickly come crumbling down. Your hands rested on his chest as you stared up at him in utter shock. “What?”
“This whole time that we’ve been this fake couple, I wanted it to be real,” he whispered, biting his lip shyly. He was hiding back a smile and you admired how cute he looked doing so. “I want to be yours and I want you to be mine. And for a while now.”
Your lips were also fighting back a wide smile. “You want me to be yours?”
He nodded quietly, staring at you unsurely. “But I’m a clumsy fool for you. That’s why I try to run away all the time. Because I… I don’t want you to see that side of me.”
You couldn’t help but giggle. “But I like that side of you.”
“But–”
“And who said I’m not already yours?”
He stared at you as if to try to process your words. When they finally did, he let out a quiet whine and leaned forward to hide his face in the crook of your neck. “But wasn’t this a fake thing for you to win a competition?” He mumbled against your skin, his breath tickling.
You hummed. “I take it back. I hereby state that we’ve been a real couple this whole time. And that’s because I really like you too, Sunwoo.”
His hold on your waist tightened and he pulled back to stare at you with adorably wide puppy eyes. “You do? You–”
You grinned, finally letting your happiness and new feelings overcome you. And this time, you buried your face into him, but instead in his chest, inhaling his familiar, warm scent.
“You can’t joke with me, Y/n.” His voice vibrated throughout your whole body.
“I’m not!” You laughed.
He could only stare at you skeptically. But even with his suspiciousness, you could tell that he too, felt giddy with how his blush had spread to his cheeks.
But, there must be some way to further convince him that you returned his feelings.
That was when an idea hit you. You quickly led him to sit on your bed and pulled out your phone.
“We should take a selfie for the contest.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Now? Right after I just confessed my feelings?” But no matter how tough or nonchalant he tried to look, you could feel his care in the way his hand yet again, found its way around your waist, rubbing circles on your hip as he stared at you attentively.
You nodded slyly. Then, you held up the phone and leaned close so that your cheek was practically against his. Sunwoo smiled awkwardly yet endearingly as he waited for you to press the button.
But instead of simply posing and taking the picture, you decided to turn your head and press a kiss to his cheek. Your phone made the click! sound but all you could hear was Sunwoo’s sharp inhale.
You put your phone down and faced him. Sunwoo was simply speechless, unable to let out a single word. His hand came up to touch the spot that you had just pressed your lips to as he dumbly gaped at you.
“Did you just…”
You nodded, smiling excitedly. “Did that prove it? That I really like you too?”
He could only mutter a quiet yes, his chest heaving up and down.
“Is your heart okay?” You teased.
He held a hand over it. “No, I think I’m dying.”
You burst out laughing, leaning into his side. You opened your phone to look at the picture that you just took. It was adorably hilarious. Sunwoo was staring at the camera, not with that awkward smile, but rather with his lips parted and his eyes wide. Your eyes were closed with your lips in contact with his cheek.
“Isn’t it cute?”
He groaned. “That’s embarrassing. I wasn’t ready.”
“That was the point.” You rolled your eyes.
“Then… can we take another one?” He stared at you hopefully. “And this time, when we’re both ready.”
You immediately knew what he was talking about but chose to tease him further. “And how do we do that?”
He grimaced and took in a deep breath. “You’ll see.”
“Okay.” You smiled, inching closer just to make it a little easier for him. Again, you held up the phone, positioning it so it would capture both of your faces–both flushed with newfound romantic feelings.
Sunwoo then carefully cupped your jaw, turning you to face him. You stared wide-eyed, feeling your heart stutter at just how close he was. Then, he whispered softly, “Can I kiss you, Y/n?” It was at that moment that you began to miss the shy Sunwoo who always ran away because now, you began to feel weak all over, even struggling to hold up your phone.
You nodded slowly and Sunwoo smiled, completely captivated by you. He leaned in after and you closed your eyes, feeling a pair of soft lips on yours. Momentarily, you forgot what moment to press the capture button and instead opted to continuously press it in hopes it would work. But no matter the angle you took the picture, nothing would compare to the feeling of Sunwoo’s gentle touch on you as he tilted your head up and kissed you lovingly.
Soon enough, it seemed that he had gotten too enthusiastic as he pressed further forward, causing you to lose balance and fall back against the bed with a yelp.
“Sunwoo!” You broke apart momentarily, catching your breath. Sunwoo now caged you under his arms, pinning you to the bed. His fluffy hair fell over his forehead adorably and his eyes were full of adoration.
“Sorry.” He smiled sheepishly. “I didn’t think kissing you would feel so nice.”
You stared at him, utterly shocked before sighing with a shy smile. “Then why don’t you continue?”
“Of course,” he whispered, pressing soft kisses to your cheeks first. “Maybe don’t take pictures of this though. This moment is just for us only.”
You snorted, glancing down to where your phone had already fallen to the floor. Sunwoo smiled with a glint in his eyes before he leaned back down to attach his lips again.

“What is that picture?” He groaned, staring down at your phone. You were cuddled up to his side, resting your head on his chest as you scrolled through the pictures you just took.
The first was the cheek kiss which you would never get over with his cute, shocked face. The next was just before the two of you had your first kiss, your cheeks red and Sunwoo’s eyes already looking down at your lips. You swiped to the next picture where the two of you were actually kissing, small smiles forming on both of your lips.
And then there was the last one you took before your phone fell. It was blurry but you could still easily make out what was happening. You were falling backward on the bed as Sunwoo pounced on you from kissing so hard. Sunwoo’s eyebrows were furrowed with focus and you could briefly see your arm that was up in the air, about to grab hold of his neck for balance.
You giggled. “We’re so going to win.”
“Is that all you care about?” He grumbled.
“Is someone sulky?” You cooed. “Don’t worry, I care about you the most.”
He huffed before holding you closer in his embrace. The two of you fell asleep right after he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.

You slapped your hand over your mouth, staring at the post on your screen.
“We didn’t win.”
Sunwoo sat up, blinking heavily from sleep. “What?” He mumbled. “I thought you said we were popular.”
“We were,” you whined. “But another couple still beat us.” You peered at the picture of the winners, recognizing the guy as one of your classmates, Eric. It was a cute photo, you would admit with how he had his hand around his significant other’s waist and how he smiled at them, clearly in love.
He reminded you much like a certain someone.
Sunwoo tilted his head. “So what was the prize then?”
“Oh! Right.” You peered closer. And then you huffed. “It was a free date to a fancy restaurant.”
He stared at you for a while, leaving you confused. But to surprise you even more, he leaned in and kissed you. “Let’s go out today.”
“Where?” You widened your eyes.
“To that fancy restaurant. Who needs the prize when I can pay for it?”

Delayed
I said I would wrote about Renaldo from SNL 50. And I'll do it again I'm sure.
"Tell me you didn't do that. Tell me you didn't invite Renaldo."
Y/N couldn't really be mad at Dee, her best friend and maid of honor at her wedding, to whom she had decided to entrust part of the organization so as not to stress too much, trusting her blindly.
It was her fault if she had handed her phone to her and told her to take names for the invitations, in addition to her online friends and Mark's family members.
It would have been smart to specify that she could invite everyone, except Renaldo.
No one knew about Renaldo.
A story as quick as it was passionate, which had taken place during the long vacation she had decided to take after her studies to travel and relax before starting the big 'adult' life.
As she hesitated at the beach bar between the dozens of possible cocktails, he had approached her with his radiant smile to offer his help, and his company for the rest of the day if she wanted it, then the night, then the week, and finally the whole stay.
Quite honestly, Y/N had spent magical moments with him. Charming, funny, terribly sexy, she had only had one tiny reproach to make to him. Renaldo loved to flirt, with everyone.
His former lovers were not a problem, everyone had a past. He was openly bi, which made him even hotter.
But despite her pleas, he continued to talk to everyone, to smile at them, to dance with them, his mouth near their ear, his hands on their hips, his eyes full of desire.
Even though she was certain that he had never cheated on her while they were together, Y/N did not like this behavior at all. It made her feel like she wasn't good enough, and maybe one day, if he realized it too, it would happen.
It wasn't good, but she ended up ghosting him, after three months of dating, deciding she had taken enough vacations, going home and changing her number. She could have told him about it, but he would have tried to hold her back, and she knew she couldn't resist him. Time had passed, until she met Mark.
Mark was nothing like Renaldo. He was kind, cute, calm. He offered her security and normality. Like most couples, they had decided to get married after several years of dating, then planning to buy a house together, have children, the whole dream life.
Well, maybe not completely the dream life. Y/N admitted that it was rather boring. There was clearly something missing, fire, sparks, the butterflies in her stomach when Renaldo held her in his arms.
But she couldn't think about him anymore. It was over, long ago. She had kept pictures, and his number, convincing herself that it was just in case he ever tried to reach her so she wouldn't answer. And now he was invited to her wedding.
"Sorry !" Dee said, pouting. "I didn't know ! He sounded so happy on the phone when I said your name. He's excited to come… But I can call him to uninvite him !"
"The wedding is in two days… I should have looked at the list sooner, it's not your fault. Listen, everything's going to be fine. Put him at a table as far away from mine as possible, close to the bar, with lots of hot singles people, and everything should be fine."
"Oooh. Is he a hottie ? Am I allowed to…"
"No ! I mean… Yes, of course, I'm with Mark, I'm engaged, I'm very happy, no problem."
If Mark felt her nervousness the next day, he probably thought it was because of the big day that was approaching. For her part, Y/N kept telling herself that she didn't love Renaldo at all anymore. He might be accompanied. He had probably forgotten her a long time ago, like all his other lovers before her.
The assembly was moved when she entered the great hall, dressed in white and looking at the ground, face hidden by her veil. The shy bride, they probably thought. In truth, the bride who wanted to avoid meeting the gaze of anyone other than her future husband.
Her stress still at its peak, she did not listen to the priest's speech at all, simply waiting for the sign to say her sentence, hold out her hand, and be kissed.
"If anyone has any reason to oppose this marriage, let them speak now, or…"
"Me ! I do ! I oppose !"
Y/N was very happy that her veil hid her face, because at that moment, hearing that voice, there was a mixture of annoyance and at the same time relief, which distorted her features.
Slowly she turned to the audience, and in the middle of the aisle, proud in his black and white suit, shirt open, Renaldo stood there, finger extended towards her.
"Amor ! Mi dulce musa, caliente como el sol, apasionada como el océano, temblorosa como una tormenta, you haunt my days and nights ! Become mine again and I will worship you like the goddess you are, as I should have done from the beginning !"
"… Renaldo. This is really not the time."
"This is the only time, mi ángel ! You were gone, you weren't answering my messages. If this ridículo pequeño hombre loves you as much as I do, if he makes you tremble as much as I do, if you are totally happy, then I will go back to my seat."
This was the time. With a word, she could confirm the choice she had made several years ago, forgetting forever this torrid romance to vocalize about a simpler future.
Yet she hesitated. And everyone noticed that she hesitated, staring at Renaldo like a deer in front of a truck that was rushing towards her. Her heart accelerated a little more, when it seemed impossible, because even if she spoke now, Mark would probably take it badly.
"He's fucking his secretary !"
It could have been a good thing that the looks were disinterested in her to go to Dee, embarrassed near the priest, who was pointing at the groom.
"I didn't know if I should tell you, I found out just before the ceremony. I heard him on the phone with her, they've been sleeping together for months. I'm sorry !"
There was a commotion in the room as Y/N backed away from Mark who had taken on a guilty look, stammering out ridiculous explanations.
Maybe it wasn't love at first sight, not real love at all, not a revelation, but she had convinced herself that she could trust him, this nice, quiet, polite, smooth, terribly boring man.
The stress had disappeared, replaced by an intense rage, which could not be satisfied even if she started yelling at him, insulting him or slapping him.
Hands gently rested on her shoulders, massaging her to calm her trembling, a kiss placed on her neck.
"Ask me, Corazón, and I'll break his jaw here and now." Renaldo suggested, pressed against her back, but fixing Mark with a predatory gaze.
"… Take me away from here."
"Come on, Amor."
Ignoring the cries of protest from cheater and the guests, Y/N found herself in a taxi, next to her former lover. He kept an arm around her, but he didn't try anything else, contrary to what she might have thought.
"You warned me, mi ángel. I was young and stupid, but that's no excuse. You told me I made you suffer because I partied too much. And yet I loved you like crazy, I thought I could prove to you that you had nothing to fear. It's because of bastardos estúpidos like that Mark that divine creatures like you doubt their greatness. Cretino. He was going to become the luckiest man in the world. But his stupidity, my luck. If you'll have me, Amor."
"Oh, Renaldo… I don't think I've ever wanted anyone else."
"Mi vida !" he cried, throwing himself on her to cover her with kisses. "Mi sol, mi cielo, mi todo !"
A few months later, a new wedding was celebrated, in the same place, with Y/N's family and friends, who then met Renaldo's, as crazy as him.
He continued to be very open, loving to talk to people, smiling, laughing, but finding a balance to not hurt his sweet lover and let the world know that he was a faithful taken man, waving his wedding ring with pride, or pulling Y/N towards him announcing "My wife !" loud enough for everyone to hear.
They talked about home, children, and the whole dream life together. And this time, it was a certainty.

Buck and Eddie keep their relationship secret for months and it turns out it's hard to come back from that.
The things we lost in the fire by SunSpell80
Buck's uncle molested him when he was a kid. Buck's relationship with his parents is complicated in a way that doesn't villanize them, but is still messy as fuck. I am rotating it in my brain. (Note: the author presumably wrote this before we met Buck's parents in canon, but got tired of changing the names a couple chapters in.)

She's Yours, You're Mine part five [h/c]
Draco x Fem!Reader
Draco is arranged to marry Astoria, but all he's ever wanted is you.
Words: 1,459 Contains: hurt/comfort, calm before the storm per say, angst, confrontation of cheating
Notes: all characters are 18+, reader's house is not specified.
:4
You and Draco continued to meet up everyday, sneaking kisses in between classes and catching up over late nights.
One day, Astoria was walking Draco back to their common room when he saw you down the hall. "Actually, I should really be studying. I'll see you later, yeah?"
"oh, but we were going to watch a movie." Astoria said with a snarky tone,
"I know- but maybe later? I'm really stressed with the potions exam."
"Whatever." Astoria turned and walked off towards the common room. And Draco rushed over to you.
"Oh- hey." You smiled and he quickly kissed you,
"I've been stuck with her all day and she's been stressing me out." You laughed against his lips.
"I'm sorry- but hopefully I can help with that.." He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer for a deeper kiss. "I'm so glad you're here."
"What the fuck." Both of you snapped your heads in the direction of the voice. Astoria was standing there, going through all the emotions at once. "Draco who the fuck is this- wait, Y/l/n? Seriously? The fucking mudblood filth-"
"Don't say that Astoria, you don't know anything about her." Draco said as calmly as he could.
"Oh come on Draco, you can't be serious. Don't pretend like you'll keep her around. You'll move and fuck someone else because that's just the way you are." He clenched his jaw at this and stepped toward her,
"And you expect me to genuinely want to be in a relationship with you when you act like this. You're so fucking clingy- I never get my own space. It's like you're a spy for my parents, telling them every little thing so they'll like you more. They never will, Astoria, you're just a way for my family to gain more wealth and you've never meant anything to me or my family. I tried to love you, I really did, but then I realized there was no point in trying to please someone like you-"
"You don't mean that." She looked genuinely hurt and started to back away; Draco only raised his eyebrows at her. "Fuck you. The whole school will know about this. You and your filthy blood-traitor."
"Astoria don't-" Before he could say anything further, she apparated somewhere else.
"Fuck.. this is really bad. Like horrible, my dad will fucking kill you." He starts panicking. "And he'll get away with it, he'll tell the ministry it was an accident-"
"Draco, calm down, it'll be okay, I'll be fine."
"No- no you won't, he's done this before- shit. I'm so sorry." He pulls you in for a hug, squeezing you as tight as he could. With how worried he was, you started to fear for yourself. 'He's done this before?' You thought.
"I'm staying with you, until I can talk to him, you're not leaving my sight."
"But Draco-"
"No, please. I have to stay with you. I can't lose you- I need you in my life. Please. Everything is so cold without you." You sunk into his arms and let him hold onto you.
"Okay.. we'll stay in my dorm. My roommate can share with someone else."
"Thank you-"
------------
The two of you snuck to your room and you knocked lightly. "Lydia? Are you alone?"
"Yea," You opened the door and Draco followed you in. "Malfoy? What is he doing here?"
"I can't really explain right now but, do you think you could stay with your boyfriend for a night or two?"
She gave you a suggestive look, "Oh I see how it is, but he has roommates, you know? That's why we always come here."
"Please- I'll really owe you but you can't stay here."
She raised her hands in defense, "Okay, okay, let me just grab some of my things." She grabbed a bag and started to pack up her overnight stuff and you pulled Draco over to the bed.
"We'll be okay, I promise." You cupped his face in your hands, "As long as we're together." You whispered,
"I never should've gotten you involved, I'm so sorry-"
"Okay, bye guys, have fun." Your roommate waved and left the room. You turned back to Draco who looked like he was on the verge of breaking down.
"Draco it's really okay, I don't regret anything-"
"No, I'm serious y/n, I should've been more careful, do you know just how many people my family has killed and kept quiet? I'm fucking terrified for anyone I talk to that isn't a pureblood or- friends of the family. This is just an excuse for them to kill another mudblood- sorry, half-blood." Draco looked down shamefully and worriedly, truly conflicted over what might happen to you.
You stayed silent until your shame got the best of you. "Did you- did you really mean what you said to her? I mean- it was kind of harsh.."
"What? Oh. I know I was a little fed up with her but.. I don't know, she's just always so overbearing-"
"Draco. Did you mean what you said to her." You repeated, carefully.
"Yea, I guess I did." You sighed, "But- I'm not like what she said, I promise. I would never do that to you-"
"Okay, I believe you." You didn't want to discuss it further, but the uneasy feeling still lingered. "Can we just go to sleep for now?"
Draco felt horrible, hating the feeling that you'd think he was like that. He nodded and let you get settled in your bed. He felt a pang in his heart when you laid with your back facing him, not even waiting for him to lay down with you. He knew he had to talk to you more, but for now, he wanted to let you sleep before you two were inevitably confronted by his father. And the thought terrified him.
---------------
You woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. You couldn't place what would've brought this on except for the overwhelming uneasy feeling that filled your stomach. You sat up and turned to find Draco asleep against the headboard. Almost like he wasn't intending to fall asleep in the first place.
Looking at him so peacefully, you thought back to the night before and what he had said to Astoria. His words were so harsh and you could tell they really hit her. But at the same time, you had to think how lonely and cold he'd said he felt before you. You couldn't imagine what he must have felt when his relationship with you was compromised, how scared he must have felt.
You shifted up to him and wrapped your arms around him, resting your head on his chest. You swore you could hear his heartbeat steady the moment you cuddled up to him, like he was waiting to feel safe again.
He stirred and his eyes fluttered open. "Y/n- Are you okay? Did anything happen?" He seemed alarmingly concerned all of a sudden.
"I'm fine, I'm here and safe."
He sighed in relief, "I'm sorry for how I acted yesterday, that was so uncalled for and I just couldn't let her talk to you like that- And I was terrified that something would happen overnight, that you wouldn't be here that I swore I was going to stay awake and I guess I fell asleep.."
You smiled, "I'm ok. You stayed up?"
"Well- yea.. I just wanted to watch over you I guess, I don't know.."
"Thank you." You kissed him, and it seemed to melt his stress away.
"But you're still not safe, I- I don't want to leave you until I know it's okay.. please?" You looked away for a moment, contemplating how much danger you were actually in, though with Draco's warnings, it didn't look great.
"Okay."
"Yea?" He looked hopeful, at least at the chance to protect should anything happen. "I'll owl my father today, though I hope Astoria hasn't already."
"Maybe you could talk to her first?"
"I doubt I could get through to her. She- she loves me, and seeing me with you really hurt her I'm sure. I've always tried to get to know her, genuinely, but she's always been to toxic for me, I feel like I could never trust her. And yet I'm expected to have and raise children with her... I just don't think anything I could say to her would help the situation much. She'd- do anything to have me to herself."
A moment of silence, "That makes you sound a bit full of yourself."
He held back a smile, "Yea well, I am the Draco Malfoy after all."
You giggled and he held you impossibly tighter, wanting this moment to last forever.
Though nothing lasts forever.

So, Luffy and Fujitora's fight...
At first it looked like any other fight Luffy had with anyone ever. When others ask him, why he wants to fight a Navy admiral who is far stronger than any other Marine, he says that he has to fight whoever goes after them, if he's going to be Pirate King.
But Zoro points out that Luffy fights "so weird" with Fujitora and I didn't know what he meant by that. Then it hit me: Luffy was screaming: "I will kick you!", "I will punch you!" before every attack. He was telegraphing his moves. Fujitora, obviously, gets pissed because he takes it as his opponent taking pity with him, but Luffy says, he has to scream what he's doing to a blind old man because: "I kinda like you!"
I think that he wants to be fair towards Fujitora. Partly because he witnessed earlier how Fujitora was cheated during roulette and Admiral didn't realize it until Luffy told him. Notice, however, that Luffy doesn't specify which hand/leg he will be punching/kicking, from which direction, whever his fist or foot will be coated with haki etc. He gives very general descriptions, not even names of his moves. So I guess, it's more like he gives his oppontent a heads-up... but he's not very patronizing either (even though Fujitora sees it that way).
Fujitora himself laughs at Luffy's confession and considers it a weakness. He comes off as a hard-ass during his chase of Straw Hats and their allies... but he also mentions that Luffy should act according to his rank, just like Fujitora has to even if he "doesn't want to". I interpret it as: "I kinda like you too, Straw Hat.", especially considering his earlier actions towards Luffy.

“Don’t marry him.”
Your eyes shifted across the mirror and found Mickey—your fiancé’s best man—locking the bathroom door behind him and rushing over to you.
“Mickey, what are you—”
You were suddenly wrapped in Mickey’s arms, forehead resting on yours, hands cradling your cheeks.
“Don’t marry him. Please, please, please don’t marry him,” he whispered and begged, “you know he’s not right for you, and you know how I feel about you, and I know deep inside of you, you feel the same way.”
Guilt and longing battled inside you.
It pained you to know that Mickey tugged on your heartstrings more than your fiancé did. He was a good man, you kept trying to convince yourself. He provided for you just like any dutiful partner would. He greeted you with a kiss every morning and night—sometimes, he’ll even look up from his phone as he did so. He always asked you how your day went—before he locked himself up in his study. He showered you jewelry and flowers—only once, you saw someone else’s name on the card. He is a good man, you kept trying to convince yourself, in front of everyone else. And that’s what matters.
But then there was Mickey. It always confused you how he and your husband were related because they were polar opposites. Your fiancé was a talker; he was a listener. Your fiancé was stubborn; he was adventurous. Your fiancé was extravagant; he was simple. But Mickey was also the closest thing your fiancé had for a brother, so you maintained a boundary. And while the two of you have kept things platonic for the most part, you couldn’t help but notice all the subtle comments and gestures that said otherwise.
And little did you know how it hurt him to see your cousin dangle you like a little accessory: nice to show off to everyone only to take you off and stow you away until he needed to use you again. How you had to ask for his opinions on the wedding plans because his cousin couldn’t care less, only wanting to ‘lock you down.’
“I leave for base the day after tomorrow. If we leave now, we have time to get your things ready so you could come with me. We’ll never have to leave each other again.”
“Mick…” Tears welled in your eyes. Not just because your emotions were flooding, but because he was right. You constantly tried to put out the flame you held for him, but you couldn’t deny anymore to yourself that there was always something there. But how would it look to his family—to your fiancé—if you up and left him for his cousin at your dress rehearsal?
Your hands fell from his arms as you shook your head. You wanted this too, but there was too much at stake, and you weren’t sure if you were ready to face the consequences.
“We can’t—”
“No, sweetheart. You can’t.” He didn’t even want you to finish that sentence, not ready to accept your decision to push through with the wedding that isn’t meant to be. “I’ve been wearing my heart on my sleeve for you, and you…throw it away. Every time, you choose him, and I don’t know how much more I can take.” His voice strained of the emotional exhaustion he’s put himself through to do this.
“I’m sorry,” he said, trying to calm down, “but please, please. I promise you, if you do, you won’t ever regret it. Or I’ll be gone. Forever.”
You knew he wasn’t just talking about his deployment anymore. If you pushed through with this wedding, whatever was happening between you can’t go on.
“I…” You couldn’t find the words.
He could sense the wave of emotions inside you. So instead of demanding an answer, he held on tightly to what little patience he had left and kissed your forehead, as though that might soften the battle between your mind and heart.
“We still have time. If you want this, meet me by the fountain outside. I’ll be waiting for you.”
And just as quickly as he came in, he left, waiting for you to make the biggest decision of your life.

A s/o that works as a private chef? But not in the wholesome way but like competition chef way, very much like a Gordon Ramsey or a Sanji from one piece
Sure, why not?
Ps. To anyone who wants to make a request to me in the future, please specify which characters to write! (Don't take it personally, anon! Also, I hope I wrote it right!)
Also I'm going to write this in a Hell's Kitchen situation and the mercs are there.
The mercs with a S/o who is a competitive chef
Scout
Scout thought "What's the big deal?", before he actually saw what it meant to be a competitive chef.
He can't help but watch his S/o quickly moving through the food stations like it's nothing.
If anyone insults his S/o and he tries to defend them, most likely the other person arguing would make Scout return to his seat in silence..
But before that he hops over the counter and 'helps' his S/o.
Soldier
Is honestly a big fan of all the shouting and every dish being made as well as possible.
It's all fun and games until someone shouts at Soldier's S/o for screwing up.
Soldier immediately defends his S/o, shouting back at them to the point where they're both red-faced.
Security escorts Soldier and his S/o stays quiet.
When it comes to the actual food, he finds out which station his S/o is on and only orders from them.
Pyro
Just..stands there by the counter, watching their S/o.
Others would make a remark about their outer appearence, only for Pyro to stare into their soul.
S/o would have to shoo them away, so they don't disturb them.
And if Pyro hears someone praise S/o, the'll get S/o's attention and give them a sticker :)
Demoman
He would be the one who openly encourages and cheers on his S/o and helps them by shouting, for example, what should be taken off the heat, so it doesn't burn.
And if the others call this out, he will put on a strong scottish accent, defending his S/o.
His scottish rage towards the other contestants helps his S/o with dealing with them.
Engineer
Oh this poor man..
He's honestly worried for his S/o during the competition and afterwards he constantly asks them, if they're alright with being yelled at.
His S/o assures him that they're fine and it's completely normal and that they yell at others too, since it's all done to improve the chefs.
He might improve their equipment in secret, so their dishes are better. He just doesn't want his S/o to feel pressured.
Heavy
He knows he's a big man and would just be in the way of everything if he did what his S/o's great at.
He admires their agility and coordination skills. But he doesn't like others shouting at his S/o that's for sure.
Heavy feels the need to make sure the other contestants know that he's in a relationship with his S/o and intimidating them, so they don't try anything stupid.
Medic
He's a mix between Demo's supportiveness and Soldier's defensiveness.
He openly supports his S/o and at the same time, threaten anyone who insults his S/o. So, his partner isn't even surprised when a rival of theirs goes missing.
Might encourage his S/o to cheat and use drugs to boost their productivity during the competition. (I kinda imagine Medic to have sketchy drugs in his lab lol)
Sniper
Honestly, Sniper went in and watched his S/o, not knowing what to expect.
Only for the orders to start piling up and everyone getting angry.
Sniper then realizes how coordinated his S/o needs to be to cook a single dish and how they need to handle brutal insults said to their face.
He knows that he would crumble under the pressure, so he devellops a sort of respect for his S/o, especially after they spew out insults as well.
Overall very supportive and doesn't disturb his S/o.
Spy
He just might secretly sabotage anyone who's against his S/o.
And later his S/o might scold him for it because they want to play fairly and actually improve.
Spy, eventually, obliges and doesn't do anything shady.
He never misses a time when his S/o is in a competition, they might not see him because he's disguised, but he's always somewhere admidst the people.
Ms. Pauling
She actually quite likes the intensity of it all.
Like, this is her everyday, but in a restaurant.
Could actually think of some useful tips for her S/o to improve their performance while watching them compete.
If she has more free time than usual, she and her S/o practice, she sets up a timer while her S/o prepares a meal.
Would also cheer them on like Medic and Demoman.
Bonus!
All mercs would try to teach their S/o new swears, just in different ways.
Pyro would suggest something like: "Oh, biscuits!"
Engie and Heavy would try to "secretly" teach their S/o new swears, as if they're going to get in massive trouble.
And the mercs that are not american would teach unique swears from their homeland (I'm looking at Sniper and Demo specifically)

Uf you don't mind it, how about Monty and s/o who cries easily when they're angry/upset and hates it because they feel weak?

Big Emotions (Montgomery Gator x GN!Reader)
Author's Note: Of course!!! My first request, I'm so excited. You didn't specify what kind of reader it was so I'm going to go ahead and do another Gender Neutral Reader. I also made it just a tiiiiiiny bit angsty. I do hope you enjoy this!!
Summary: "There ain't nothing wrong with big emotions for a little person. That just means you're alive."
Warnings: Angst, Foul Language
Word Count: 910 ~
"You can't keep running around with Freddy!" Monty yelled at you, aggressively ripping off his sunglasses and following after you as you did you best to keep out of his reach.
"What do you mean running around? You're acting as if I'm cheating on you!" You turned around, yelling right back at Monty, walking backwards and trying to navigate to his room.
The middle of the Plex wasn't the most ideal place to have a screaming match and you were trying your best to be civil about the misunderstanding, not responding to any accusations until you could get to a room that was private.
"You might as well be! I saw you straddling the fat fuck while you fixed his tie!" Monty was furious, and that blinded all reason as to why you had been straddling Freddy in the first place, but that still didn't mean he should have accused you of cheating.
"What the fuck else was I supposed to do!? he was already sitting! I didn't think it was going to hurt anyone! Freddy didn't seem to give a shit." Monty's bedroom door slid open and you darted in, still fully aware that you couldn't escape the topic but it was getting overwhelming.
it was taking everything you had not to lose it in front of Monty, he had never seen you in any other state aside but being the bubbly and happy night guard tasked with caring for the band while the place was locked up for the night.
"Oh of course the bastard wasn't bothered by it. You probably straddle him like that every time I'm not around! I thought you loved me Y/N!" That was it, that was the breaking point for you and you lost it.
Tears streamed down your face, you bottom lip quivering as you cried. Monty's yelling stopped and he dropped his glasses, realizing finally what he had done but that didn't stop you from trying to push past him and leave the room. If that's how he was going to act, then he could act like that by himself, but Monty would be an idiot to let you run off like that. He grabbed you with both arms, lifting you up and carrying you to the couch where he sat down and held you as you kicked and cried, yelling at him to let you go.
"Leave me alone Montgomery!!" It stung a bit, hearing you use his full name.
"Darlin, please calm down. I didn't mean it.."
"No! I don't want to be here. You already make me feel weak and stupid and you've only made it worse. I told you! I hate crying and of all people it was you who made me cry." Your fit of kicking was slowly fading and all you could do was whimper and cover your face as you sobbed in Monty's arms, feeling so small and weak as the tears kept coming with no signs of stopping. It got so overwhelming and you were so angry with this whole thing that you wouldn't have possibly been able to fight of the tears very long but this was worse that you could have thought.
"I hate it...I don't even know why I took this job. I'm not a goodnight guard, for fuck sakes... I can't even be mad without crying. Im just..weak." You sniffled, using your sleeve to wipe at the tears and Monty fell apart at the sight.
He had never seen you cry before, and this was too much for him to handle. He was jealous, but there was no reason he should have pulled the cards he had and he felt terrible about it, not knowing how he was going to fix this.
"Darlin~ You aren't weak. You feel so strongly, that's all it is." He cooed, brushing his fingers through your hair as you cried.
"There ain't nothing wrong with big emotions for a little person. That just means you're alive." He muttered, pulling your frame into a tight hug, his head resting on top of yours while he rubbed your back.
"You're so special, and you always will be." You curled into Monty's chest, hiding your face as you spoke with a muffled voice.
"I love you Monty... I don't want to be without you. Why don't you get that? You're all I want. You're all I'll ever want..." Monty held his breath, feeling his stomach drop.
"I know that Darlin. I can't tell you how sorry I am that I said what I did. I didn't mean none of it. I love you, and I get a little jealous is all. I don't want to be without you." He pulled you back, away from his chest to plant a kiss on your forehead and make you look at him. His large, purple clad hand gentle cupped your face as he used his thumb to wipe away the tears that were staining your skin.
"You're my little Rockstar, ya hear me? My one and only." He gently rubbed his nose against yours, making you giggle through your tears that were slowly coming to a halt.
"And you're my Rockstar, Monty. I never want that to change..." You placed a kiss on his nose, smiling for the first time that night as he pulled you back into his chest, refusing to let you leave until he was sure you were going to stay his little Rockstar.

nur hello dear <3 i saw your prompts list just now and i was wondering if i can request please? how about prompts 6 and 12 for my beloved kazuha? if two is too much feel free to go with the one you feel most comfy writing 🤗 thank you so much and have a v happy halloween if you celebrate and hoping that november treats you kindly mwa! 🫶🏻💗
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ i'm yours. always been yours.
used prompts : 6. “i’ve known you since… forever. i can’t imagine my life without you.” + 12. “i’m yours. i’ve only ever been yours.”
best friend!kazuha x gn!reader, use of they/them pronouns for neutrality purposes | wc ; 1,014
requests open! check out my promptlist!
becoming kazuha’s best friend was something you always thanked the archons for.
you had never met someone so understanding and considerate as him in your life before and you always loved spending your time with him.
“oh, come on, you can’t do this to me!”, you whined when you, yet again, lost a little race against him; the winner would be able to choose where you would go for lunch. you had agreed to a race from the geo archon’s statue to liyue harbor’s entrance. “you always cheat with your stupid vision.”
he let out a chuckle at your pout, booping your nose tip gently . “you never specified i couldn’t use it to move faster now, did you?”, he grinned triumphantly. “come on, let’s go pay xiangling a visit. i’ve missed her interesting creations.”
you couldn’t help but excitedly clap your hands. you, too, had missed xiangling during your long trips with the alcor and were excited to finally return to the place you once called your home.
that was until you met kaedehara kazuha when he was a fugitive in his homeland and had to escape with beidou’s and the alcor’s help. you met him wandering around the harbor shortly before you yourself had to leave to board the alcor once more and his attire made you wonder where he is from.
that had happened over two years ago now. the decree in inazuma has been lifted and kazuha was no longer a fugitive in his homeland. though, as you got closer, he told you that as of now, he has no wish to return to inazuma permanently because he had grown a particular liking to traveling with beidou.
little did you know that his true reason not to return permanently was you.
kazuha could not fully describe the emotions he was feeling when he was around you. this was truly a surprise to the descendant of the kaedehara clan – he had never struggled to put his feelings into words before. then again, he had never felt like this before either, so the unknown emotions were quite a surprise to him, too.
all he knew was that he wouldn’t want to feel this way towards another person ever.
and all he could tell captain beidou when she questioned him about it that he was always feeling this warmth in his heart and the happiness he felt whenever he saw you smile at something he said.
“aww, do you have a crush?”, beidou laughed out loud, kazuha immediately panicked, hoping that you wouldn’t have heard the captain talking so loudly.
“shh, please, this is already nerve-wrecking as it is for me, i don’t need them to hear you yelling it out like this”, kazuha looked around just to see you at the other side of the alcor, luckily busy chatting with someone else from the crew. he couldn’t help himself but smile as he saw you excitedly clap your hands at something the woman in front of you said. that was one of your habits he had noticed a while ago and he found it insanely adorable.
“well, i think you should talk to them. a little birdie whispered to me that they might feel the same”, beidou grinned knowingly. “translation, they actually told me. seriously. you should talk to them.”
“it’s just so … nerve-wrecking.”
the moment he had decided to finally go through with it, he realized the previous description of admitting his feelings being nerve-wrecking was an understatement.
“hey, y/n, i… have something to talk to you about.”
“hm? what is it?”, you asked as you put away your chopsticks to focus on him. you had already noticed earlier that he was quite nervous for some reason and you did want to ask him about it but decided to let him open up by himself.
“you know… i’ve uh..”, he was hesitating. what if beidou misunderstood whatever you had told her? he tried to relax by breathing in an out slowly and looked at you. “okay, here goes nothing”, he whispered to himself. “y/n i have been thinking about us a lot lately. and i have come to realize that… i just can’t imagine my life without you at this point. i’ve known you since what feels like forever, despite it being only maybe two years? no matter how much time has passed, i always enjoyed spending my time with you. and i don’t want us to ever separate in any way imaginable. i think … no, i know i like you and i just have to know if this is one-sided or not. because… i don’t think i can handle knowing that i like you but you don’t like me back in the same way.”
kazuha had been so deeply focused on his talk that he didn’t notice your slightly teary eyes and you had probably the most beautiful and happiest smile on your lips. when he did, however, he couldn’t help the relief in his body. this had to mean something good, right?
“archons, kazuha, this … i seriously didn’t expect you to confess tonight. because i was going to do it, too. i don’t think i can just improvise a speech like you just did” – you both chuckled when you said this – “but i like you, too. i have never met an understanding and amazing person like you before and i always admired you as my friend so much, i can’t even explain. and now to know that you feel the same about me? it feels so unbelievable.”
“sweetheart, i’m yours. i’ve always ever been yours but it just took me too long to figure it out. and now i just want to know… will you be mine just like i’m yours?”
you nodded excitedly, laughing at how beautiful this night ended for the both of you.
and you wouldn’t want it any other way.

The Struggle of Love
Summary: Gaon and (y/n) have been dating for a little more than a year, thankfully JYP approved as long as they keep the relationship a secret for now. Gaon told the other guys who were all very happy for Gaon. However, O.De, or Seungmin, began struggling with being happy for Gaon when he too began catching feelings for Gaon’s sweet girlfriend.
Warnings: I don’t think there really are any things to warn about but if someone finds a topic I should add here please let me know!
Disclaimer: I know JYP would probably never approve of a relationship so early into their career but just go with it people. Also, when I receive asks that don’t specify the member I use an online random selector to choose the member.
Word count: ≈ 2.4 k
A little angsty but I think it’s mostly fluff
Prompt 10: “You make me happy” - “Please don’t ever change”
A week after Gaon told the other band-members that he had a girlfriend, dinner had been planned where Gaon would introduce (y/n) to his band-mates. He was super excited to introduce them, the dinner would be held at the dorm so Gaon had gone to pick up (y/n). At 5.45 pm the door to the dorm opened and Gaon stepped inside followed by his girlfriend. “Hey guys, we’re here!” Gaon shouted and instantly a couple of thuds could be heard as the other guys were leaving whatever they were doing to come and greet their friend’s girlfriend. They all gathered in the living room, (Y/n) was a little nervous about meeting the others but she was mostly excited as Gaon had told her a lot about them. “Hello, my name is (Y/n) (l/n) and I’m Jiseok’s girlfriend. Nice to meet you!” She was welcomed with greetings from the others as they introduced themselves. The dinner was full of laughter, shared childhood stories, funny moments, and much more. Gaon, (Y/n), and all the others were happy with how everything went. As (Y/n) was leaving, she had to promise the boys that she would visit them often and hang out with all of them not only her boyfriend.
And so, the weeks passed by, and (Y/n) became good friends with all the others but especially with Seungmin. (Y/n) and Seungmin’s humor is quite similar so they laugh a lot together, they sometimes dance a little just for the fun of it. Gaon didn’t think much of it at first as he was simply happy that his best friends and his girlfriend got along so well. But as the weeks go by and Seungmin seems to want to spend more and more time with (Y/n), Gaon begins to get suspicious that there was more than just friendship in Seungmin’s actions. Seungmin himself hadn’t realized what he was doing until he found himself imagining how it would feel to kiss (Y/n). That’s when he got a wake-up call. He had a crush on Gaon’s girlfriend.
Although he knew it was wrong having these feelings for (Y/n), Seungmin just couldn’t help himself. (Y/n) was nice, she was funny, she was sweet, she was pretty, beautiful, she was the perfect girl in his eyes. Her one flaw was that she was his best friend’s girlfriend. Gaon had noticed that Seungmin was looking at (Y/n) with heart eyes, the same kind of eyes Gaon looked at (Y/n) with. Gaon wasn’t too worried about (Y/n) cheating on him or leaving him for Seungmin as it took Gaon 6 months of flirting and asking her out before she agreed to go on a date and then another 3 months before she agreed to become his girlfriend. But that is another story, for another day. So, Gaon knew that if Seungmin wanted to ‘steal’ her then he had a lot of work in front of him.
“(Y/n), have you noticed that Seungmin spends a lot of time with you? Is very touchy with you? Looks at you like you’re the sun?” Gaon and (Y/n) were spending some time together in (Y/n)’s apartment. The couple was watching a movie, cuddling on the couch, and just enjoying the other’s presence when suddenly Gaon broke the comfortable silence to ask the question. “I don’t know. Maybe? I mean, yes he does spend a lot of time with me but I initiate it many times because I have fun with him and usually I turn to him when you are busy. I’m quite touchy too so I’m probably the cause of most skinship between him and me. And about how he looks at me, nope, I haven’t noticed that” (Y/n) spoke honestly as she dislikes lies between her and Gaon. Something that they both agreed on when they became a couple is that they should always be honest with each other. “Well, from my point of view it sure seems like he wants more than just friendship from you” Gaon as well spoke honestly about his feelings. “Seok, don’t be too harsh on him. I’ll talk with him tomorrow and explain that I only see him as a friend and that I am dating you. Though I think he knows these things already,” Gaon hugged (Y/n) tighter and gave her a sweet kiss on the lips. “I love you. I just don’t want to ruin my friendship or your friendship with Seungmin, so do you think it’s best for you or for me to speak with him?” (Y/n) cuddled in closer to Gaon before she answered. “I think I should do it, okay? I know you’ve known him for longer but I think I might be better at talking about these kinds of things. I mean, I turned you down for 6 months without totally breaking your heart,” At her last sentence the two young adults let out some laughs at the memory. “Alright, I trust you. Let’s go to bed now, we have to get up early tomorrow,”
The couple woke up at 5 am and got ready before they headed over to the company building. Xdinary Heroes had some recording to do today as well as trying out some outfits for coming performances. (y/n) tagged along to keep her boyfriend company as well as meeting his band-members who have become her friends as well. And now, after her conversation with Gaon yesterday, speaking with Seungmin regarding his possible crush on her. Once the couple arrived at the company building, they split up. Gaon went to their practice room to have a meeting with the other members and their management team while (Y/n) went to get the members some coffee and a drink for herself(could also be coffee if you drink that, I don’t haha). After the 15 minute meeting, the management team leaves the room, and (Y/n) walks in with the drinks. As soon as Seungmin sees (Y/n) entering the room he gets a lovesick smile plastered on his face, his eyes light up, and he stands up from where he was sitting to walk over and help her carry in the drinks. “Good morning (Y/n), did you sleep well?” As (Y/n) reflected on Seungmin’s actions and thought of her conversation with Gaon, she finally saw it. Loud and clear. Seungmin definitely had a crush on her. “Good morning everyone, yes I slept well though I sometimes regret dating someone who has to wake up before the sun haha…” (Y/n) hoped that her little joke would be a subtle hint to Seungmin that she’s only interested in Gaon. “But jokes aside, I wouldn’t be happier with anyone else other than my Jiseok” As she spoke that comment, (Y/n) walked over to Gaon handing him his coffee and she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Seungmin’s smile almost fell at her words but he kept the smile, he knew she was off-limits but he couldn’t help imagining how it would be if he was the one to date her. After the band-members had finished their morning coffees they began practicing. (Y/n) sat down and listened, observed the member’s facial expressions as they had requested her to do. (Y/n)’s eyes fell on Gaon for the first round, he gave her some flirty looks, kissy faces, and some funny ones. For the second round of going through the song (Y/n)’s eyes fell on O.De, he winked at her, blew her some kisses, and gave more flirty looks. All (Y/n) could think was that she really needed to speak with him, not only for her sake but for Seungmin’s as well. After giving all the boys some pointers on how certain facial expressions looked good and others not so much it was time for the members to go do some individual things. Gaon was off to the stylists and checking on some outfits, Jungsu was off to record for a coming vocal track, Jun Han too was going to stylist but for hair check, Gunil was going to a separate room to practice his drum skills a bit more, Jooyeon was off to record a video, while O.De stayed behind in the room with (Y/n) as he didn’t have anything planned for right now. (Y/n) thought that this would be her chance at speaking with Seungmin.
“Seungmin, we’re good friends, right?” (Y/n) asked as the boy sat down in front of her. Seungmin tilted his head a little at her words but nonetheless, he nodded and gave her a charming smile. “Yes. Of course!” (Y/n) gave him a kind smile back before she took a deep breath. “Then, can we talk about something serious? Something that might not be a fun topic, something we wouldn’t usually talk about,” “You can tell me anything, I’m here for you,” Seungmin reached out with his hand and took one of (Y/n)’s hands in his, he caressed the back of her hand with his thumb hoping to calm her down. “Promise me that you’ll be completely honest with me? I’ll be 100% honest with you,” “I promise,” “First of all then, Seungmin… Do you have feelings for me? Like a crush or feelings that are more than just friendship?” Seungmin let go of her hand in shock. “I promised to be honest, so I will be just that. I think so, I think I have a crush on you. I’m sorry,” He looked down at the floor, he didn’t dare meet her eyes as he knew she would look at him with judgemental eyes or maybe even with disgust. “You don’t need to apologize for that, Seungmin. We can’t control who we have feelings for and not. I just need to talk with you about this…” As she reassured him that it wasn’t wrong of him to feel what he did, Seungmin raised his head and his eyes met (Y/n)’s. He expected judgment and disgust but he was met with kindness and warmth. Her sweet personality was one of the reasons why he harbored these feelings for (Y/n). “You know that I am dating Jiseok, I have been dating for him over a year now and he spent a lot of time trying to get me to go on a date with him. I love him and he loves me. You’re a great guy, Seungmin. Any girl, boy, person, would be lucky to date you. You will find the right person for you, but that isn’t me. You’re an amazing guy, so please don’t ever change,” (Y/n)’s voice was soft and steady, even though the words she spoke should have hurt him, Seungmin couldn’t feel anything other than acceptance. He knew all along that nothing more than a great friendship would happen between him and (Y/n) but hearing her saying that he is a great guy made him happy. “Thank you. I know it must be weird for me to have a crush on one of my best friend’s girlfriend but you’re just so easy to fall in love with. You’re kind and amazing. But I know you’re not my someone, I guess I just wish you were but I’m waiting for my someone and I’m just hoping they’ll be half as awesome as you,” Even though his heart hurt from the rejection, he was expecting it so perhaps it made it easier, he couldn’t help but be filled with hope for the future. The excitement of meeting the person that would become his world, the love of his life. “You make me happy, so let’s stay friends, I don’t want to lose you as a friend Seungmin,” (Y/n) stood up and motioned with her hand for Seungmin to stand up as well, which he did. “Of course, we’ll stay friends. I think I just projected feelings onto you as I wish I had what you and Jiseok-hyung have,” “You’ll find that and much more eventually. Just give it the time it needs,” (Y/n) embraced Seungmin in a friendly hug. “I guess I should go talk with Jiseok-hyung as well about this. Apologize for fantasizing about stealing his girlfriend and explain that I won’t do it and that I’ll try and stop seeing you as someone I want to date,” “Once again, you can’t control who have feelings for. But yes, go talk with him. He’s not angry with you, he just wanted one of us to speak with you so that you wouldn’t feel like I was leading you on and then giving you a bigger heartbreak,” “Thank you, I’ll see you later” And so Seungmin left to go find Gaon to speak the matter out with him as well.
The struggle of love is as (Y/n) said, you can’t control who you fall in love with. Luckily, this time it didn’t ruin any friendships rather it only made them stronger. Gaon told O.De that it wasn’t anything he should beat himself up about as long as won’t act on the feelings, they were cool. Gaon was happy that (Y/n) had spoken with O.De and cleared the air, now nothing stood in the way of their happiness or Xdinary Heroes’ success. So perhaps honesty and kindness is the best way to handle any situation, at least according to (Y/n).

CHARACTER BINGO FOR THOSE MARKERPLIER CHARACTERS MAYHAPZ
YOUUUUU DIDN'T SPECIFY SO WE DID A LOT HAHSSJDHDHSHDHFH
So before we start these r all very Much biased bc plurality . we tried 2 stick to how we feel abt the source characters but uh.... ANYWAYS,
all under the cut let's go
where DO i even start. ok. he's Lirerally just a dude (... Debatable. /joke) and that makes him So Funny . New Guy Just Dropped: literally just a haunted house's Angry Humansona. He's on a mission to Kill (justified) but he's gotta do a trillion side quests first and they're all Be Gay Do Crime. Before WKM and therefore His Lore™ dropped i think all we knew abt him was what happened in ADWM which is even funnier. 3 fuckign people get trapped in a meatsuit and they're like "what's the bEst way 2 get revenge" and apparently the first step is to go seduce people about it. Gay Rights 😃👍!
Our take abt Dark is that Mark did a Damn Good Job At Accidental Plural Representation! This Man Is A Fucking System!! Litcherqlly the trauma-endo system OF ALL time thnk u fr coming 2 my Ted Talk .
woulj not want 2 meet irl on account of would also probably fucking kill us <3
HE...... THEE BUBBLEGUM BASTARD OF ALL TIME.
ok after everything in WKM literally he deserves to kill too. Man fucking lost all his friends and got blamed for one of their deaths (which . Listen to me. Not his fucking fault but we'll get into that Later,) and watched as the DA fuckin g fell to their death and then GOT UP. AND WALKED AWAY*. Like. Listen to me.
If my fuckign life went from being pretty cool to absolute hell within the span of like 2 days i too would lose my mind and then change my identity completely and be convinced that everything is a joke. I too would be pink abt it btw pink is gender as hell.
(*by this point it wasn't Exactly the DA but Dark but whatever THE POINT STILL STANDS!)
Now we would absolutely not want to meet him if he were real IRL . Shit would go fucky and we'd be dead almost immediately. no thank u HFJDJSJDN
THIS FUCKING GUY!!!!!!!!!! OK,
So The Host has like zero canon whatsoever. And. That sucks. BuT! What very very few appearances he has are very cool and he looks cool and we think he's neat. Also he should get to kill too I think almost everyone should get to kill :3c
I would not want 2 meet him bc he can narrate shit into existence and that is terrifying. God blees. <3
THIS!!!!!!!!! MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!
the man the myth the reason why dark exists the reason why wil is the way he is etc. etc. etC.!!!!!!!!
he scares me. JEHWJDJFDJJSJFDIDISI. he's a huge jackass canonically and literally planned his death like What on god. But anyways!!! From a character standpoint he's so cOOL!!!!! like hello!!! literally did all that shit bc his wife cheated on him with his bestie iirc which WHAT the fuck <3. ok <3. Divorce exists but gO off dude!
So this is where shit gets... Less abt The Canon Character and more very biased sys-wise. Cuz our Actor is the funniest fuckign guy ever I think and I don't think he realizes it. Dude fucking exploded something in the headspace once and just said "Clown for the dount" before leaving front for 1-2 months straight and that lives rent free in our head forever.
Like. We all think he's gr8 here lmao he's helped us a lot so far with day to day shit. But he's also way fucking different than source!Actor is so ?? dhajKxjfjsn.
Anyways we would not want 2 meet source!Actor bc he'd probably also try to kill us <3. tl;dr he's a WONDERFUL villain and a well written character tbh. I want to canonically see Dark rip him 2 shreds.
:D so this uhhh. So this is 10000% system bias. Uhhhhhhhh. Ummmm.
I can't explain this one except I'm gay and literally our Google fictive is my bf in-sys LMFAO -Marvin✨
wait actually i Can explain a bit hold on.
I/we think people forget tht he's like. Mainly a hater. Dude popped into existence and was almost Immediately bitter about everything. He Is A Sarcastic Jackass. He Is Not A Helpful Man. He literally wants one thing and that is to destroy mankindJFJSKSKFJFKDJ
With that being said if canon!Google existed irl anywhere near us we r running away. He Would Kill Us. JSHSJDJFMFFJJDJSJF
#ask#THANK U WEAST!!!!!! EEEE#weast#long post#ALLLLL WRITTEN N DONE BY MARVIN BTW bdhwkajxjsjajd#i just realized only wil got a bingo here. huh. damn HFHDJZJCCNCJS#love the running theme here with these guys canonically though#We Do Not Want To Meet Them. We'd Die. HAHWHSJDNFNCND

clack...clack...clack...clack...
...
...
...
the sound of heeled shoes waltzing down the halls of heaven's arena echoed. standing outside the door to your room on the top floor searching for your key, it was easy to realize, you were no longer alone in the previously deserted hall.
looking up from the ground, the statuesque figure of hisoka towered over you. he really didn't need high heels, yet he wore them despite that. the reasoning unclear; perhaps for intimidation or for pure fashion purposes.
the illusionist merely smiled at you, before emitting a soft purr. "good evening~" his hand rested on left hip, his weight shifting to that side. his amber eyes piercing through you. it was unclear as to why you had chosen such an intimidating man to call your lover, perhaps you were drawn to him for that very reason, or it could've been his conventionally attractive features. he was pretty.
you had finally managed to find your key, simply unlocking the door to your room, without speaking , and held the door open for him. it was obvious he was bored, and looking for something to do.
striding into the room, he closed the door behind him, inspecting the living space you had been gifted by the arena. it was almost exactly identical to his room, though it was scattered witu your own personal affects and the occasional article of clothing on the floor. taking it upon himself to flip the lights on, he made his way across the room to the switch, seating himself on the small sofa afterwards. gesturing for you to join him, a sly look had formed on his face.
"why so quiet?, hm?" he cocked a brow curiously, and crossed one leg over the other.
the answer should have been obvious to him, though you hadn't brought it to his attention that you knew. changing from your day atire to more comfortable clothing, hastily and silently, you sat in the chair across from the sofa, rather than beside him as you typically would have. he could sense there was something amiss , though he couldn't peg what exactly that something was. there was a number of things you could have been upset with him over. staring him down, your eyes piercing through him , just as his typically did you, it took a brief moment to collect yourself before you spoke. "i know."
"hmm? about what?" the magician inquired, carelessly producing a stack of cards from thin air, and beginning to shuffle through them as the conversation continued.
"you and that girl." you retort, disgusted by his apparent lack of empathy.
"i know many females. You'll have to specify which one." His eyes looked up from the cards, making direct eye contact with you at this point.
"hisoka. you're not stupid, don't act like you are" your arms found themselves in a crossed position. "i don't know her fucking name. she has pink hair."
"Machi..." a smile formed on his face, he had no knowledge that you had seen or heard anything , and thought he could get off the hook with this one. "she's merely a friend of mine... one could say we're colleagues."
"you're really going to lie to me like that? i saw you with your tongue shoved in her mouth, you asshole!"
with that statement, hisoka's pupils dilated, it was clear he had been caught red handed. giving the deck of cards one last shuffle, he made them disappear just as easily as he had produced them. you had his full attention now. His arm draped over the back of the couch, as he jittered his foot, not out of nervousness, but distraction. he felt it appropriate to dispose of the cards he had been fidgeting with, and now didn't know what to do with himself. "how long have you known?"
"I've had my suspicions for a few months. i didn't know for sure until after your match against kastro last night." you straightened your posture in an attempt to compose yourself. "i saw the two of you outside your room."
"..." it was clear he was trying to decide what he should say to you, if there was anything he could say that would change the situation.
"does she know you're taken?"
"not that I'm aware of, no." he let out a hum, but unlike usual it wasn't out of curiosity or arousal, but rather disappointment and regret.
"..." you made your way to the dresser, and produced a bottle of your perfume. you walked over to him, drenching him in it without warning.
wafting the nauseating mist away from his face, he immediately rose to his feet, as the stream has been directly into his face.
"well now she will." you felt less apt to be lecturing him once he stood at full height; but held your ground. "If i find out you're fucking around with her , or anyone else again, we're through." your voice cracked for the first time during the exchange. everything had began to sink in. "get out."
he furrowed his brow, clearing his throat every so often, trying to recover from the ungodly amount of aerosol that had been sprayed directly into his face. "as you wish."
he walked out without another word, part of you wishing he hadn't , as you were dependent on him for comfort , and the other more relieved to see him walk out the doorway than ever before.
