OKAY SO what with the TWO new Hermits implied by the updated banner I will say that, though the Skizz truthers have me convinced, I now have room to do my own crazy red string monologue and throw my hat in for my choice

1) Mythical J. Sausage (the J is silent) is a multitalented S-tier builder that absolutely deserves to be shoulder to shoulder with the Hermits. The man does buildings, interiors, terraforming, custom trees, and he does them SO WELL.

2) The production values!!! Beautiful replay mod sequences with shifting camera perspectives, shaders, music that sets the tone for each segment that's different from series to series. He already has more than a million followers on YouTube and for good reason!!

3) He has been SO consistent lately. He started a hardcore world about three months ago (about the time you might expect the Hermits to finalize their s10 choices maybe...???) and already has 15 episodes and hasn't gotten involved in any other big content. (He did just start playing a little of the BCG server but from what I understand that's super casual /copium copium copium).

4) That hardcore world is conveniently about to reach a good "pause" point. He started his world on a cherry blossom biome island that he's filled with a medieval village and starter farms, he's said it's almost full and what's left is the castle. I'm guessing the new season will start the first week of February, so if Sausage puts out a video this week building out that Castle and finishing that island it will be MIGHTY CONVENIENT TIMING.

5) This man can GRIND. His Hardcore world hasn't even been going half a year and he's built... So much??? Magnificent! And when he was on the Hermitcraft server he did the Razorcrest for scar AND the player head baby yoda/stormtrooper merch AND the noteblock themesong AND still built in the xmas village and other "diamond of peace" and so many other shenanigans. Did the man even sleep? He can grind with the best of them.

6) He can do redstone, too! Maybe not unique designs, I honestly don't know, but he builds farms for build materials no problem.

7) The DRAMA this man loves his improv and his backstory and trauma lore! For every series he does! Can you imagine if he gets to interact with Ren for an extended period of time, what that would do to them, to us?? Give Martyn a run for his money!!

8) Which brings me to my next point, which is that Sausage is already One of The Gang, because he's been in series with so many of the Hermits already! Empires and the crossover, obviously, but also Pirates with Cleo and Origins with Scar, and he's even done MCC! Joel is the only other player with the same depth of different series but there are other people truthing him already.

9) The EPIC BROMANCE with Pearl. My god the devotion of this man to his sunflower goddess bestie. I would try to do ot justice but y'all have seen floweroflaurelins work, you already know.

10) He's already a PG streamer but with HILARIOUSLY PG-13 tendencies. Imagine him and Cleo cracking each other up at an HHH stream, *grips your shoulders* IMAGINE IT.

11) Sausage comes with his own mascot in the form of interdimensional dog extraordinaire Bubbles, but he's also just an animal lover on general. Mans drinks his "I love Jellie" juice and had her in his world even before the sad news of her loss.

12) Diversity win! No one should be hired just for their gender, race, sexuality etc etc unless it's truly necessary to the job, but we were all happy when more women got added to the server in s8 and I know a lot of people would be happy to see some ethnic diversity added, too.

... That bulletin board had a lot more pins in it than I thought it did but anyway MYTHICALSAUSAGE TRUTHERS/ALL OTHER TRUTHERS RISE UP SPEAK YOUR TRUTH! we'll only get to wildly speculate for a few weeks so we might as well make it everyone else's problem ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST!!

I wanna get over it but I'm actually getting more and more upset the more time passes? I honestly don't want to be, but I feel like I'm grieving for the characters and the world I put my time and love into on most days of a decade now. Like, I really mean daily even if it's not been on Tumblr for the entire time.

For many of us, these characters found us during a really dark time and we don't call them our emotional support characters for nothing. And to have all that history so dismissively handwaved by the devs in their social media posts is actually hurtful as hell on a personal level...

(I get that 117 choices is insane and would take up an unreasonable amount of resources and limit storytelling. But I did expect 8 or 10, even if half of them just lead to codex entries. That would have been fine! I mostly expected that there wouldn't be choices from DAO and DA2 as well, but Inquisition?

How will they even give a throwaway mention to the Inquisitor's romance like they did for Hawke in dialogue in DAI, if you can't even select that Cass is Divine or Bull, Blackwall or Cullen are dead? You can't even say oh they're at home doing this and that. At best romances like Dorian or Josephine will get some content while others get none. At worst the romance choice input is actually just there to ask if you romanced Solas. Yes, I'm hella upset at that even as I am currently obsessed with Solavellan.)

Because most importantly this just makes the whole world of Thedas feel.. idk cold? Knowing that there is nothing to make it feel like we affected anything in the world so far and that so many of the characters we love will never appear again because they once gave us a choice involving them. Like, do I now need to hope I don't get any major choices for the new characters I fall in love with because that means they'll never bring them back again?? Better not get attached?? Is that really what you want to teach your players?

I don't have any hope that they are self-reflecting enough or care enough to do this, but maybe if the backlash is bad enough they'll start working on a patch that at least contains some codex entries and ambient voice lines? That's like my one piece of copium I can try to actually suspend disbelief for rn. Apparently I've entered the bargaining stage..

I've been hardcore hyping about Veilguard since 11 June (which happens to have been my birthday and like that was the best part of it for me) and I really don't want to feel this way, but I do and I don't know how to describe it other than I'm grieving.

This line currently feels immeasurably ironic...

The "best thing to happen to Kinger's lower half" is not foreshadowing, but a hint to his past in the circus. Hear me out.

So we all remember "Kinger's Special Place" and how those Checkmates socks (Plus Kinger "wearing" one of them) caused a lot of fans to worry over the fate of our beloved chess piece?

Yeah. The more I think about it, the more I feel like we're viewing all this from the completely wrong angle. This isn't telling us what WILL happen to Kinger...

It's telling us what ALREADY happened to Kinger and WHY he's the way he is now.

Gangle's supposed "Near-abstraction" moment in EP 4 made me think back to Kinger's core memory with his abstracted wife. He couldn't recall the exact string of events that lead up to it, but that moment in the fort where she calmed down enough for him to caress her was forever ingrained into his mind.

Maybe it's because said moment was what saved him from immediately following Queenie into abstraction--

"Erm, eckshualeeeee, when Gangle snapped back from abstracting, she didn't go insane like Kinger. Theory debunked along with your Stupid sauce scandal idea."

Well, yeah. Because she was just starting to abstract before Pomni offered to switch shifts with her. Meanwhile, I think Kinger was already deep into abstracting before ending up in the pillow fort with Queenie.

This silly image of Keychain!Kinger wearing the Queenie sock? It represents HOW CLOSE he was to completely breaking. He still managed to snap back, the absolute chad, but having been so near the brink of no return, the mental damage was already done and couldn't be reversed (much like how you can't come back from fully abstracting).

That's why Kinger's mind is so scrambled/fragmented present day.

Upon this recontextualization, so many things start adding up (at least for me).

Both his and Abstracted!Queenie's behavior follow the same patterns. Erratic and unpredictable in the light. Lucid and calm in the dark. This can most likely be applied to anyone else who abstracted too.

He can't recall the events between after Queenie abstracting and before he ended up in the pillow fort because he was probably HARDCORE dissociating.

He was more paranoid and unstable than usual after the Gloinks took apart his fortress because they robbed him of his ANCHOR.

And of course, all this can further explain how Kinger has managed to last in the circus longer than anyone else. DOI\I'T FORGET. YOU'RE HERE FOREVER.

My specific copium is that Phil and Fit left the island and went to another universe similar to ours and rented an apartment together (they made enough money by trading in weapons to a pawn shop or something) they currently are doing odd jobs as they try to find more suitable work.

Phil befriended two abandoned crow chicks that were in a nest near their apartment and Fit got a bearded dragon to care for.

And that is how they live out the rest of their days, it’s a good ending to them, quiet and peaceful compared to Quesadilla island or 2B2T or hardcore survival.

fuck outta here with that. your grievances are your own. for the past 7 years and even longer, it's gotten insane. maybe i got old. but it almost seems like people have gotten more rude? more aggressive with not just airing their own grievances, but being openly hostile towards others who don't share them?

i get that it's always been like this to an extent. but to this level? like, not just a 'i disagree and here's why, but in the end, you do you, i do me, i'm willing to discuss.' now it's like 'i disagree and you're a fucking chump high on copium, and i'm gonna follow you across the internet and sic my friends on you too if you dare like what i don't like, loserino.'

like folk just can't help but personally go after individuals now, and do so with impunity. and not just fellow players, but absolutely mobbing the devs and the writers personally. no blog posts that don't come up when you google because your blog's so irrelevant. no. have to get up close and personal to make dead sure that they feel the blade twisting while you watch.

there has to be something fucking wrong with you to engage personally and drive a fucking mob for posterity. like... you're not even upset that the game didn't deliver, you're furious that the devs aren't getting what you think they 'deserve' for failing to deliver.

kind of makes me wonder what game devs really feel. like, unless you deliver utter perfection, you're going to get slagged personally and aggressively, and like... you're no longer sharing the fruits of your labour with fans, you're afraid of them because they will come after you personally on your social media accounts like you spat in their mother's eye and stomped on your dog's tail. and over what? luxury goods known as 'video games'?

WAIT UNTIL THE REVIEWS ARE OUT and make your purchase decision based on that.

Hi im having gortash brain rot and thinking of a reverse au for durgetash. Like instead of durge being usurped, it was gortash. Orin takes his place to none the wiser of durge for a while.

So gortash as tav has hardcore amnesia and is travelling to Baldur’s gate to find out “hey wtf why is there a guy w my exact face and name??” N ofc durge is still the chosen of bhaal, and offers him an alliance again. The kidnapping still occurs w Orin tho.

Also, sadly he’d kill Karlach in a1 😔😔 he had to since she seemed to kno him n hate his guts!! This is probs when he begins to have an inkling into his past n that he probs wasn’t a good person at all.

Playing as him, like w durge, there can b a redeemed gortash. (Huffing copium bc I don’t want anything bad to happen to the tieflings EVER 🥺) He’s still a bit of an ass tho no matter what.

I also speculate in terms of romance, depending on route, he’d b into shadowheart, astarion, lae’zel or Minthara. The others r too “soft” for his taste.

I think I love the movie as it could have been, rather than what it is. And that dissonance between what it could have been-- the simplicity of that possibility-- and the reality that hits me every once in a while makes meeeeeeeeeeeeee not like it even more. XDDDD

But truly, if it had been well done? The movie of all time. It had all the beats I would've liked in a movie: cinematography, score, main lead actors, etc. etc. So, I 100% understand. (Same with the Revival lovers: I get it, I just don't think it happened as we would have wished, y'know?)

I think the reason why I love IWTB is for purely for nostalgia. It was my gateway into The X Files. Wayyy back in the day my Dad, who is also a huge X Files fan rented the movie on netflix (back in the DVD days) I watched it on a whim and I completely fell in love with the characters and the universe. I think I watched just about every episode on MegaVideo in under 6 months until I eventually saved up enough money and bought every season on DVD.... Those were good times!

Trust me, the amount of mental gymnastics I have to perform for this movie to make any any sense would impress an olympic athlete but as I've stated in the past, its a movie I can't help but love. I often wonder how different the movie could have been if there was no writers strike as it was being filmed, but alas we will never know.

However I will say, reading the IWTB novel helped me process the movie a little better. I think it does a decent job at getting into Scully's headspace and makes her decisions a little more... understandable I guess? But that may just be pure copium on my part XD. Its like $7 on amazon if you ever want to read it but if you don't trust me, I understand. In some ways I think it's better than the movie honestly BUT it has some lines of dialog that are just bad, really bad.

I 100% agree with you on the revival. When I watched it live I loved it like most everyone else but as time went on I started poking holes in it. To the point where I really don't like it anymore. Its funny how the Revival doesn't hold anywhere near the level of nostalgia that IWTB holds.

Also, I recently rediscovered a WordPress article that heavily criticizes the revival that was written by a hardcore X Files fan. Its very long and it can be just a little too nitpicky at times but I think It's well written and I pretty much agree with everything the writer said.
