Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple and how “ability users” (opposite to “normal people”) learning to accept themselves through the acceptance of their own abilities is a queer metaphor of acceptance of own's sexual orientation and gender: an essay by me
#bsd#bungou stray dogs#About: Dead Apple. Watched this a while ago with a friend and it was a lot of fun!!!#If you're reading this: thank you so much for hanging out with me I had such a good time (´ ˘ )♡#Next to general considerations: wow they were right that Bungou Stray Dogs movie sure can Bungou Stray Dogs#It's always nice to see the detailed animation and elaborate backgrounds of movies. The animation quality compared to the manga is–#definitely noticeable and it's nice to see. That said... I still like the season 2 art style more? And I'm speaking strictly of art style.#The s2 one looks more soft and smooth while the da one is so much more rough.#The plot is... Very bsd-esque I don't think there's anything to add.#In my opinion Kyouka's arc is the one that turned out best tbh. I really like her narrative development and personal growth in this movie.#I like the complexity of her state of mind. how full of contradiction she is. I especially appreciate the recurring small changes of–#expression that indicate how she thinks differently from Atsushi even if she doesn't voice them. The fight between her cynicism and her–#kind nature. It's all very interesting.#Atsushi's development is interesting too. Although all the open questions about his ability we still have kind of leave me frustrated#I don't feel very strongly about Akutagawa in this movie? I mean‚ he's there. The ss/kk scenes are always great and in character and a joy–#to witness no matter what they do. He just doesn't shine particularly? Or at least personally I dont find the “proving my strength against–#myself” narrative arc to be particularly interesting. Imo it was a lot better flashed out in the da stage play! With the complexity that–#the dialogues with Chuuya added to the character. Dazai attacking him. And especially Aktgw understanding that Rashomon wasn't testing Aktg#but rather only expressing that unstoppable rage that is also Aktgw's own. About that I checked out the play and I really liked it!!#I only watched highlights (aka: ss/kk and chuu/aku scenes) but there's some stuff I really like. I like the conflict between Aktgw and–#Chuuya and how Chuuya messes up with Aktgw at first maliciously and then amiably. It's interesting how Atsushi himself observes that Kyouka#and Akutagawa get along. And especially the sskk almost-handholding and Atsushi saying Akutagawa has a nice profile were cute akjdhbsawhjb#Next. Da really is shipping paradise (╥﹏╥) Sorry but... It is. oda/zai. daz/atsu. ss/kk. s/kk. fuku/mori. chuu/aku. It really has everythin#and the moments are so good!!!! What else. Wish we'd see more of Tsujimura. And Christie. And women in general tbh.#Also‚‚‚‚‚ Atsushi's tiger form in this movie is ATROCIOUS. I've said it before but it's crazy how a franchises that relies so heavily on–#fanservice came up with something this hideous. Man the movie overall was pretty but Atsushi sure wasn't. Firmly stand by the belief–#that only Akutagawa would find that form attractive.#Oh last note. honestly if we're ready to accept a movie where an antidote has effect AFTER the person has effectively died then we really–#can't complain about any kind of insanity the manga brings up#random rambles

Actually if I were to describe the differences in the characterization of Bruce and Dick's relationship between Titans comics and Batman comics very generally I would say in Titans comics their relationship is "there's something wrong with these guys (negative)" versus how in Batman comics it's "there's something wrong with these guys (positive)".
#this is mostly a joke#imo batman comics often read more nuanced and that's probably because they can afford to spend more time on Just These Two Guys#since they're you know. the main guys#whereas titans has to try to split the spotlight a lot more#and bruce is just a background supporting character sometimes#from the perspective of a titans writer bruce doesn't really matter much as his own character and that makes sense for that story#but that's also why i really don't like using titans comics as a main source for how he should be characterized#wrt bruce's characterization if a titans comic is contradicted by a batman comic i'm going with the batman version#vintagerobin.txt

kingisle whenever they need to coax older players back: HEY YOU PERSON WITH A WALLET!!! REMEMBER DRAGONSPYRE?!? REMEMBER HOW SAD THE LAST ACT MADE YOU FEEL? HERE'S SOMETHING REFERENCING DRAGONSPYRE!! ISNT THAT YOUR FAVORITE?!
#artenoise#ki101#wizard101#pirate101#like i have no issue with dragonspyre as a world but the extent that it's use to generate more hype is getting old#the mali the undying stuff with AZ and darkmoor and then the catacombs#and now this new pirate update#like it doesn't even matter if it doesn't make much sense like the young battledrake mount#DS is the cash cow even more than WC because they know people that played up to the end of DS or DM have some fondness for it#but it's getting so sour and overused imo#like if mali the undying didn't happen and get resolved ten years ago i would've bet real money they would've pulled it now#but they bank so heavily on the nostalgia but it isn't even that good of a world#the pacing comes to a screeching halt once you reach ashley#and the weakness spam is really tilting if you're trying to get it done in a day or two#but it's also not bad it still has the best aesthetics and ideas and doesn't feel like One Thing#like how wallaru is Just Australia or zafaria is Just Africa#and the atmosphere is great it gives off this post protagonist feel ig. where it feels like any other game would have you doing stuff#during the invasion. but no. it's just an active graveyard#that's the other thing the more KI tries to expand on it the less harrowing and mysterious it feels#which is a huge bummer.#even if the catacombs was cool#i know this is a long ass ramble but dude after seeing the new pirate update im just. bruh.#Yaknow

Okay, here’s a question for you that my brain has randomly summoned: If Dream and Punz were experimenting with their own lives before the prison, why would it not show it in the video we get all about the Revival Book?
Because we didn't really need to know, tbh? Like, we really didn't. Most of what we know about c!Dream is always revealed at the latest possible moment: think the revive book, the staged finale, the vikk and lazar experiments, yes, and the Plan in entirety. There was reason to tell us that c!Dream and c!Punz had already tested the book after the prison break, because part of the question pre-staged finale reveal and pre-prison break was how much of c!Dream's ramblings about revival to c!Tommy were genuine, and the fact that he had tested the book before to some degree quite solidly confirms that all his whole "ooh now we know it works! now i can use you as a guinea pig to test revival mwahahaha" moment after reviving c!Tommy was for show and not genuine. On the other hand, we were still entirely in the dark on what c!Dream and c!Punz's goals were at the point of prison break, which iirc was around when that lore video came out. We really didn't need to know that they were testing the book on each other yet, especially because that reveal would only really hit the hardest in the finale where it was looped into the themes of self-destruction and self-sacrifice that followed c!clingy. Keeping that reveal until it'd actually mean something rather than just making it an earlier lore drop kept us guessing for longer and worked better for the story that was being told in those final four streams
#my asks !!#if we had that information earlier it would just be. information. like oh okay so he's fucked up ... we knew that already lowkey#but by placing that reveal alongside the c!clingy of it all it really highlights the c!tommy + c!dream parallels#and leads up to their moment of understanding which that. whole thing was building up to#the timeline doesn't actually matter that much imo i just think it makes more sense pre-prison than post-prison#but the fact that it happened /does/ matter to the conversation that c!tommy and c!dream had at the end#when it comes to c!dream lore the question is never 'why didn't they reveal this earlier' tbh#we never get early reveals in c!dream lore it's a staple of the story to keep things hidden for as long as possible#there's a reason why so much of what we know ends up having to be revised after the fact#even with stuff like. when were the blueprints put on the mountain. when was staged finale actually planned. etc#all revealed long after the relevant plotlines were like. done

One day I will be able to properly break down the themes of authoritarianism, bioessentialism, and the VERY flawed "hero and villain" dynamic in MHA and then it'll be ALL over for you...
#.txt#superhero media is basically always full of copaganda so its no surprise my hero has its fair share#but MAANN. the politics of this series are pretty bad.#and like the only people who ever really face consequences for their actions are the villains bc they're all ''the bad guys''#no matter how fucked their circumstances are#or how much they've been abused by systems meant to protect them#a lot of the later stuff that challenges the hero system (questioning hawks actions. lady nagant as a whole) feel so...shallow. idk#im not very good at expressing my thoughts about this concisely so it all just rattles around in my brain#its like that one post going around like ''isnt it weird how the bad guys in things who bring up good criticisms of systems of power always#have to like kick puppies or something too so you know they're Bad so you shouldn't listen to their points''#my hero does a LOT of that#mha#also im not quite sure bioessentialism was the proper term to use but the fucking. i dont know how else to phrase it#quirk racism. basically. all of the treatment of heteromorphs by society and how quirkless ppl are looked down on.#idk it goes pretty unchallenged and is written pretty poorly imo.#like the stuff with spinner. that was so. poorly written and in general trying to do racism allegories doesn't.#pan out very well in most shounens#that's a whole other nuanced topic that i wanna properly gather my thoughts on for now i just. don't like it lol.#mha rewrite tag

Busts down the door.
Thabk you for the birthday wishes :3.
Anyways!! Idea just came to mind about Ando being super fatherly in general and it results in Kizuna crying after meeting him.
Thats all i have to say :3
Ngl i feel like after the 6.5 cast gets rescued by the foundation Kizuna is much more excited to meet Ando and the rest of Kanata's family than she is excited to see Minako again-
They just got some unresolved issues and she had heard great thinks about Kanata so family for their talks during her recovery so,, yeah ^^'
#sorry it took me sooooooo long to get to this i was being murdered by college wrapping up#hyena ramblings#dra#dra -2+2#spoilers i guess?#post game stuff so it really doesn't matter much imo#Kizuna Tomori#Hikaru Ando#Minako Tomori

something about kenirchiro's design that makes me angry is that NONE of these blues are the same
like if you ignore the fact that his outfit is wack and there is too much going on
none of these blues are the same and I know it's small but it makes me so annoyed...
like shit just have the deep blue on his arm band, a light blue for details, and then have all his hair be the same blue... not that hard!
#also if you ignore that no matter how big you are get hit hard would hurt like shit if he was actually built like that#since he doesn't have body fat to insulate any damage#I really hate the fact that all of the body types in anime are just guy with drawn on looking abs ...#grrr#and this is just with his design#he became a better character imo but they built him up for like the lamest fight ever#then he doesn't actually do much throughout the story other than showing up if the plot says so#it's unfortunate#kenichiro doman#bucchigiri?!#drink printer ink#I don't think i've done this on tumblr but yeah I am yapping about character design again#I can't help it

In honor and memoriam of OFMD, my favorite Discourse™ to come out of this fandom was people feeling "enraged" and "disappointed" after figuring out that the actual historical figures of Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet were not good people
#bestie they were pirates...#(doesn't really matter much imo)#(the characters in the show are so COMPLETELY divorced from the irl pirates in question that comparing them is silly.)#anyways RIP you stupid beloved pirate rom com#ofmd#our flag means death

finished dante's campaign of dmc2!! it was bad!!! <3 and i can't tell if it's anticlimactic or a surprising show of mercy that it only took around 4 hours
#and a notable amount of that was me bumblefucking around so#look i need to reiterate that i am not a hater for the most part. that's not who i am. However---#i'm kind of surprised that it managed to have even less of a plot than dmc1 bc that's a low bar. neither game prioritized the story and i'm#honestly fine with that y'know? so long as the game's fun it doesn't matter that much to me#which is not a problem for dmc1!! the aesthetic the monster designs the general game feel is all there. dmc1 rules#dmc2 actually has some pretty good monster designs imo. like there's things to like about dmc2 it's just all the stuff that takes some extr#time to notice. as opposed to the blaring unavoidably shitty gameplay that you notice far faster and more often#anyway im about to go play lucia's campaign i guess. so. look forward to me complaining more probably#also the way i HOWLED when lucia started repeating trish's lines... YOU CAN'T JUST MAKE THE Devils Never Cry SCENE TWICE GUYS#IT'S REALLY OBVIOIUS#dmc#dmc2#sigh. also i got blue eye stared by dante at least once and i thought that was funny. he kinda looks like a bald eagle head-on#like he's pretty but. screee

twilight princess is the best zelda game of all time because it is a story about community at its core - it about fighting tooth and nail for the people you want to love and protect, about teaching that real strength and power lie in your bonds with others, about overcoming loneliness and fear and apathy for your community .....
#there is also a giant yeti who makes a delicious soup for his wife#perfect game#I have so many thoughts about this game like#more than any other zelda game IMO this game centers what it means to be in community with people and protect them#the entire game you spend trying to rescue ilia and the kids#link rushed into the darkness with NOTHING to save them#and while he is the chosen one that doesn't really matter to the story??#like he was going to do this all regardless#colin who spends the whole story nervous sees link and gains strength from how hard he is fighting for them#everywhere link goes he finds pockets of community and not only protects them but JOINS THEM#the wrestling with the gorons makes him one of them#the zora queen entrusts her son to him#the yeti's let him into their home#in other zelda games the drive is usually some grand journey to save the princess or a singular person important to link#but in twilight princess his identity is tied SO CLOSELY to what it means to be from orodon#when you get to snowpeak ruins he is struck by the reminder of home in the ingredients he finds#and even to midna he becomes much more than the chosen one and her actual friend#when you get to the desert and she admits the truth about herself link just smiles and accepts her#he wasn't doing this because she forced him too#he did it because he wanted to#she has become his friend and he will protect her and help her#fuck#i'm going to cry thinking about this AHHHHH#like zelda and midna are both rules but they are distant from their people#meanwhile link is no leader#he is just a goat herder from ordon who spends his free time entertaining the local kids and exploring the woods and riding his horse#link is just some guy but he LOVES the people in his life so deeply and that affects both zelda and midna in profound ways in the story#i'm#normal#kels speaks

"if you think that kryptos was from flatland and you believe bill genuinely cared about him, meaning he had some fort of actual human connection to another flatlander, why did bill still end up destroying the place? wouldn't kryptos trying to stop him have either made him reconsider his actions, or made him get rid of kryptos entirely?" well you see when bill was burning flatland, kryptos was whooping and hollering and breaking out the champagne
#imo on paper bill and kryptos have the healthiest relationship bill has ever had-- hell off paper too#BUT it's really just because kryptos has like nearly alway agreed with bill's decision making except for small bickery things#that really don't matter#YEAH kryptos has some weird bad upsetting feelings about the second dimension being destroyed but it's very much a#'oh wait the catharsis is wearing off' thing#while it was happening? the minute he realized what was going on he was all for it#bill isn't even inhernetly trying to manipulate andy this is truly just their Dynamic. which is unhealthy in itself but! not intentionally#andy is so lost in the 'bill is the best person i know and he's always right' sauce that he genuinely doesn't want ot argue with bill#he just assumes bill is correct and right and any weird feelings he ever has are just flukes#meanwhile bill just would not know how to react if andy suddenly started disagreeing with him on anything serious#like??? this is andy. andy's smart he knows what's up why is he suddenly being Stupid#he would not handle it well but also he'll never have to because they're so weirdly codependent at this point that this is just the Dynamic#and it's not flat out abusive like every other dynamic in bill's life but man. Man.#'i was eight years old before anyone was ever really nice to me and actually wanted to be my friend and now eons later we're#just enmeshed but we do genuinely care about each other and it's the closest thing to healthy that we know so we don't think we have to#change anything about our dynamic'

//With Lynette by default I treat her knowledge of the Harbingers outside of Arlecchino basically the same way I know the upper-level supervisors that I work under. She knows who they are (of course) and if someone refers to them by name or title, it's not really a question. But if she hasn't seen them in person, she's not going to necessarily recognize them by appearance.
#ooc#i also feel that any authority past Arlecchino doesn't really matter to those of the House of the Hearth#i mean lyney says ''Ours is a kingdom consisting only of children and “Father” is our king''#so it's not that it doesn't matter at ALL it's just not something they typically consider imo#i'd v much like to get more voicelines for the harbingers so so much but if we don't at all i imagine something like this is why#m: lynette#lynette: cd tag#anyway! that's my thoughts and default; but i can adjust#and it can always be like she HAS seen so-and-so previously either as part of a mission or them coming to fontaine or smth#but i mean maybe the next set of AQs will come out and smash all my hcs haha

i will never not find it hilarious that they completely forgot to animate patty at the very end of the final cutscene in the last three frames of the whole group
and the dub didn't even give her voiced lines when everyone was shouting they so the localization forgot about her too
#GTF Vesperia Things#the loc also changed her line from “it stopped?” to “it's over?” which is awkward#bc i'm pretty sure she was referring to the blastia+spirit's power not working as they intended#i know the DE loc was really wonky and they rly just went what's a consistency tho#but it's actually very jarring for me to play the DE version bc the loc was actually relatively on point originally#and then all the additions and changes are super awkward in the loc#like flynn saying good luck out there to yuri if you sleep at the inn at aurnion... even tho he's literally in the party#you can tell they didn't actually check the original script for accuracy/consistency AT ALL#just really feels like they didn't care much about it ultimately and just shoved it out#the remake is what i have access to rn but like... the original was def better and like#as someone who did play the original numerous times it's so blatantly obvious where they changed/added stuff#esp since patty's lines outside of anything immediately directed at her own story#were almost entirely throwaway lines they stuck in there just to give her lines to make her more present#i'd say about half of flynn's added lines if not more for anything he wasn't originally part of were similar#like anything that was exactly the same except they stuck in a few extra lines for those two#and like... i love flynn but imo the DE version really didn't do him that much more justice (n-no pun intended)#and like it doesn't matter that they did plan patty originally bc ultimately she got cut#which meant making the entire story/plot without her; so adding her back in LATER is like... why did you fucking bother removing her then#they ended up having to forcefully stick her back in anyway and whatever she would've had in the first place#prob would've been better/integrated better into the story than trying to squeeze in lines wherever possible#and I say that bc her lines (and a chunk of flynn's) don't actually change anything. chars will respond the same with or without their line#like... hearts r did really great in integrating a new char into the main party#even if i usually do NOT like additions to the main cast in remakes and is usually why i don't want remakes in the first place for tales#and then you've got innocence r which just butchered everything with its additions#and vespy is right in the middle as like... why bother (for money i know but still)#also tho honestly with how little flynn is even actually playable it's still a big why bother for me#bc yeah i do love having him there and i do love the sidequest stuff with him#but the biggest difference between hearts r and the vespy remake is that they didn't really... remake it#they just stuck new things into existing unchanged content and added a little bit more and reused the base game#if the tag count is still thirty im out of tags lol i just have a lot of Feelings abt this remake

one in a million when i watch smthing in the horror genre and don't end up disappointed to/and/or pissed off about it so like "also yeah i liked it. ooo" is like relative to that an off the charts rave review of media of the millennium. also i did think about mh a lot along the way so would recommend its affect/effect if you like mh's horror too
#i didn't realize at first that's the director/creator tim's qrting. thought a rando went ''i love mh'' & he went ''& i love smthing else''#saw this a few weeks ago while also like writing or drawing or smthing like oh good plot's beside the point? b/c i'm splitting this focus#even checking in w/recaps was both like oh ok i missed that / didn't realize xyz could be a Thread or something but each of the like three#or four recaps i went over Also saw points differently in terms of even like; who was there or said what lmfao. or noting sm detail at all.#i went ''oh worm?'' at some early shot that may or may not have even gone mentioned by any of them. depending lol. doesn't matter#anyways we don't have time for tags media analysis except that i'll count this as: once again horror for children wins. even tho it's...#not rated? well anyways you know. probably generally not advisable for children as a direct audience lmao. however#like yes as per the premise as a child we've all experienced this [the media] anyways. perturbing summons dreams we've all had em#anyhow fr i'd even struggle to think of horror movies i'd say i mostly liked / would or did rewatch but still wasn't like. i disliked major#elements / choices to the point of being pissed off abt it. so many movies i can't be bothered to watch b/c i already know specifics like#i don't like or respect any of you people. or choices or elements or premises or executions or effects. not even interested fr like lord...#but often what has better odds are mediums that Aren't straightforwardly tv / film. like i'd compare mh to a series of several movies and#that's also imo largely a more apt categorization than saying it's an ARG or smthing but anyways like i'd recommend it to someone sure....#rare to be like yeah a movie was enjoyable. & if you already liked mh then that's a useful reference point here#which like usually i'd use mh as a categorical tag but idk i guess actually it's actively popular nowadays lmfao i really don't know#posting is already exhausting like whew but this one's for whosoever happens to follow me i guess#which is possible? nonzero ppl arrived for mh but unlikely lmfao. but also ppl see it on their own anyways coincidentally.#and you never know who observes the posts like hell yeah for an anon enjoying niche akd theatreposting who is to me ambiently out there#really odd the other day seeing an mh reblog like ''??? huh. i made that eons ago; then'' & people in the tags talking abt some repost like#on the one hand that Original Source post is two layers of deactivated blogs so a repost could be archival. but if they don't say as much#i.e. that it's even from a different source then that's not exactly it then is it. but also that even finding an original document For OP#is like. oh yeah that's me actually. but then knowing & technically saying as much doesn't / didn't actually affect me as that op lol#just kind of archival on both ends then. vs someone else in the tags saying they saw it on fb 9 yrs ago? definitely didn't post it there#my true op experience: keeping it nicheposting & just kind of saying sm shit & maybe some people are out there nodding thoughtfully#oh also in case fyi. that's tim as in actor playing [also tim] in mh. & did some writing for mh & other such behind the scenes efforts also#every time i look at the text in this post i notice a new typo of mine. get it tgoether (organic typo there. so; lol)

honestly, it's really interesting thinking about how the events of the desert dream in 1998 would get blown out of proportion in the coming years ; hell, it already kinda is twenty-four hours later. not only does the fbi get involved ( and they get involved quick ) but the entire thing is immediately labeled as 'the desert dream massacre' which is ... simply not true. if tyler doesn't kill joyce and michelle isn't shot then the total body count is four cops, with two on life support from the motel burning down. this is literally confirmed in game!
events get labeled as massacres if there's a huge body count, or if it's violent enough. the desert dream killings were neither. all the victims were shot, usually at a distance, or they suffered from burns ; which, while violent, it was more of an escape attempt on the holts' part than anything else. i also find it telling that, even if the holts kill a hostage or two, agent bradley doesn't bother mentioning that in private. all he cares about is the cops lost to the standoff. it's no surprise that killing an officer will get you a more severe punishment then if you kill a regular person, that it can sometimes send you straight to death row on its own, but the fact they don't even care about the deaths of any of the hostages ... it sure is something.
especially since the only hostage deaths in the desert dream can turn the only two kids in the game into orphans. or on the flip side, if the holts didn't harm a hostage, there's no mention of that either. or how the hostages were treated, which compared to usual hostage situations, they got it better than most. it's just the fact that they killed cops ( who were under the thumb of a corrupt sheriff, by the way ) that made this into a massacre. though i wouldn't be surprised if to the public the force would then heavily focus on any other victims, that's usually what happens normally, after all.
anyway, point is, classism does play a role in how cases and crimes are treated -- especially back then. the holts were poor, notoriously so, and they were a family full of drop-outs with nothing to their names. the very second they escape the motel, their names are plastered all over the country and their fates ( including jay's, who's merely an eighteen year old who was an accomplice at best ) are decided : they're going straight to death row. even if jay tries to do the right thing and come clean to agent bradley, tries to turn on his family, said guy immediately goes to pin all the murders on him, for seemingly no reason at all! it's very unjust, and ah ... shady!
the news and papers hype up their crime spree and i wouldn't be shocked that within a couple years, the holts would be presented as bloodthirsty rednecks who were simply greedy rather than a family that didn't have any help and got in way over their heads. the narrative would be twisted so much, especially if three of the holts were never found. there'd be no word from their side, no mention of the thugs who were threatening to kill them, just a true crime story where they were at the forefront of a very unfortunate situation and got away with it. leaving gossips to fill in the blanks as they please, and considering the police's and the fbi's behavior towards this case, they would only fuel the narrative that the holts were a family who did all this on purpose and relished in the aftermath, a family who loved doing the crime.
anyway, it's just something i love thinking about for post canon stuff when it comes to my adf muses. how wildly inaccurate the story's become in time, simply because people got bored or because of the classism back then that was so woven into the broadcasted crime that it's become impossible to separate the two. they'd paint the holts out to be wildly dangerous, cruel individuals and probably spin tales about unsolved murders and robberies and how it could be the work of a holt who had got away. their entire motivation would be obscured and would've gone unsaid, leaving random civilians and a force who hates them to speak for them instead. it'd be a whole thing! and the desert dream was dramatic, sure, but by the time everything is said and done you'd probably barely recognize what the media was talking about had you actually been there.
#╰ * OOC : mun ⧽ ramblings of a fevered spirit .#(( don't mind me ... just musing about this because i find it endlessly fun haha#like. cannot stress enough tyler getting death row makes sense but JAY?#the fact they literally frame him for everything ... even if he hasn't committed a single murder ... speaks volumes imo#they did not care about any of the holts being innocent nor their reasons they wanted them to suffer that's it!#except sharon who doesn't get death row for some reason? like ... this entire case is so unfair and makes no sense#it's the way dante threatens the lives of all the hostages way more than the holts ever did and still got to keep his badge#as well as his corruption and assault on the motel not being brought up to the public. it's a matter that gets privately dealt with#like ugghh it really is about how little the justice system cares for poor people.#it's about how the holts felt like they had to deal with their lives being threatened by themselves!#they didn't feel like they could go to the police! or publicly ask for help! they didn't think there was another way#and in the end their original plan was harmless and was only hurting someone who deserved it ... they didn't just rob some establishment#they robbed a sheriff their ma had history with and who was literally corrupt#anyway. anyway! as much as it's crazy to me how the media would run with this story and make it about a family that was simply deranged#it's also ... fun to think about <3 for the victims of the desert dream and the holts#not only do they all have to live with this traumatic event that's changed all of them forever#they have to also live with a fabricated version of it -- a warped version of themselves being presented#imo this sleepy town in arizona was simply bored and they had one huge thing happen to them and so they exaggerated details#and the cops were just. well cops about it <3#ahem anyway your muse knowing about the desert dream from what the public's painted it out to be when? :smirk: ))#tw long post

so i've been borrowing my brother's copy of pokemon scarlet while he's at work, playing it on and off...i'm not super far in it yet, i'm taking it really slow, but i have to say...even if there are a lot of things that i really don't like about the new games, y'all weren't lying about the plot being solid so far. i really am enjoying arven's story a lot, and i'm interested to see where the team star plot is going to go...that said, i still don't think i'm going to buy the game for myself, and i def don't have any plans to play the next generation when it comes out. there really is a lot of potential with this gen, but there's just so much missing that even if i am enjoying some parts of the game, it still leaves a weird taste in my mouth. idk, maybe i'm just getting old...
#more importantly though i don't want to support the company financially bc of how they're treating the devs#this kind of crunch is unacceptable imo and no matter how much i love pokemon i just can't stand by it like that#just...so many mixed feelings about this gen fr. i really don't know how to feel about it at all#...probably doesn't help that i lost my lifelong pokemon hyperfixation after the whole drama bomb that went down though lmfao#anyways. on a lighter note#i really like maushold a lot#move over marill. there's a new favorite rat in town.
