like u mentioned, ace is roger's son but it's not common knowledge bc he wanted to make it on his own name instead of under his dad's, who has like, gretzky-level hockey fame. also holds some resentment bc the peak of roger's career was when ace needed him at home.

also like u mentioned, garp totally doesnt believe professional sports is a reliable career in the long run, and despises that most of his grandkids are pro hockey players, and his son went into speed skating and eventually became the olympic coach for the country's olympic speed skaters (incl sabo). koala is also one and her and sabo are on the mix-gendered relay skate.

by the time luffy gets promoted to captain, he's somehow amassed the weirdest team of pirates players ever seen, where many of the regulars just. don't have backgrounds in hockey? where did he find them? how did he convince the league to take them? who knows.

cross guild productions is the brain child of crocodile, who lent buggy a bunch of money to start his company and decided to do this when buggy couldnt pay up when he chased him diwn years later. croc also coaches mihawk, so he decides to strong-arm mihawk into doing guest performances, since he's such a big figure skating name, having the most olympic golds ever win by a single figure skater. mihawk doesnt want to do it until he hears the storyline for the performance, sees his costume sketches, and holds the prop sword. he's just a huge goth dork underneath it all.

after mihawk's grand internationally-aired romantic gesture succeeds and he gets shanks back, shanks manages to convince the cross guild that he's still a good enough skater to do an easy ice show, as long as he doesnt fall on his bad arm like a dumbass. he never does tricks, but people love the character they write for him, as he's so charismatic. he plays mihawk's rival in that season's little show, and gets his own prop sword. every single performance sells out bc mishanks is till a hot topic among ice skating and hockey fans.

sanji comes from a very strict, very decorous mma family, and he never fit in bc he likes cooking and skating. he ran away from home and found a fister parent in zeff, and worked at the baratie growing up, where zeff put him in hockey bc his kid likes skating but he also needs friends his age. despite never wanting to be like his birth family, ironically sanji's one of the best fighters on the pirates.

usopp is a forward and their best shot, and generally always makes it into the net from wherever he's shooting. despite this, he finds being a forward absolutely terrifying and is refularly intimidated by the big guys they face that have no problem getting in his face and starting fights.

A Baby Sister

Note: I didn't realize it until I was writing this, but I legit gave all these men a daughter for their second child (or first or third for two of them on this). I can't believe I didn't notice, lol, I would've moved things around a little but, this is fine honestly. I tried to make it really cute and fluff, but the bonus turned a little angsty. :') The bonus is also what led to me wanting to write this. Enjoy!

Rogue is three when you and Ace have your second child, another little girl you name Ann. She’s just as tiny as her big sister was, and while Rogue has your hair, Ann looks exactly like Ace, all the way down her freckles. Ace definitely cried again when he got to hold her, hell he was crying as soon as she was born, you totally expected it though.

Rogue hated the two days she wasn’t with you, both you and Ace deciding to give her some time before you introduced her to her newborn sister, she stayed with Luffy and Sabo during the time you were in the hospital. After you’ve gone home, Ace picked her up and she refused to let him go until he got her home, when she sees you she hurries over to the couch and hugs you so tightly that you really do feel bad for having not seen her the last two days.

“Mama, I missed you!”

“I missed you too, Rogue! We’ve got a surprise for you, sweetheart.”

She brightens up hearing that, excitedly trying to ask what the surprise was while Ace brings Ann over, handing her to you before he picks up Rogue and sets her in his lap so she can see better.

“Rogue, this is your little sister, Ann.”

Rogue is beyond excited, she wants nothing more the rest of the day than to hold her sister, to the point she starts crying and Ace has to calm her down when you have to take your newborn to feed and change her. Once she has her back, Ace starts to feel a little jealous simply because he also wants to hold Ann for a while. The whole thing just makes you laugh and appreciate that you have others who want to hold her.

“At least she’s not mad about having a sister.”

Ace just pouts a bit in return. “I want to hold her too…”

Law brings your son, six-year-old Rosinante, to see and meet his baby sister the day she was born. He takes him by your hospital room first, so your son can get some time with you before seeing his new little sister, even though he’s excited to meet her. He starts getting antsy and almost begging to meet her, before you finally laugh and look at Law.

“Why don’t you take him by the nursery? I’ll be fine for a bit.”

Agreeing with your suggestion, Law gives you a quick kiss on the forehead before taking Rosi’s hand and leading him down the hall to the nursery, stopping at the window and trying to find where your daughter was in the room. Once he finds her, he picks up Rosi and points where your newborn’s nursery bed is.

“See right there? That’s your sister, she’s got the bear you picked out for her.”

Rosi’s eyes light up once he sees where she is, seeing Law is correct, the little polar bear plush he’d picked out months ago was in the corner of the bed. She’s so small! He didn’t think she’d ever be so little, even after he met some of your friends babies, they were all a few months old.

“What’s her name, dad?”

“Cora. She’s got a hat on, but she has the same hair color you and I do.”

Rosi nods while Law watches him for a minute, smiling just a bit. He had been a little concerned about how your son would react when you decided to have another child, but you were able to convince him that Rosi would be a wonderful big brother, he had Law as an example, after all. Watching Rosi over the last several months, from when he grinned and hugged you when you told him you were pregnant, to when he was happy to hear he was getting a sister, you were proven right over and over again.

After watching him for a few moments, Law presses a kiss to the top of your son’s head and looks back to your daughter.

“Cora’s going to be depending on you, all right? My sister relied on me for somethings while she was little, so do your best, and your mom and I will help you both.”

“Okay, dad,” Rosi nods, before looking back to Law, “Can I hold her?”

“Yeah, of course. We’ll go back to mom’s room and get them to bring her in.”

Having been an only child, Penguin wasn’t sure how your four-year-old daughter Wren was going to react to meeting her little sister, Ivy. Wren had seemed a bit concerned at the beginning of your pregnancy when you were sick, and didn’t have much of a reaction when you told her the baby was a girl. She barely had any interest in meeting Law’s newborn daughter a few weeks prior, running off to play with Rosi instead.

Once your second child was born, Penguin brought Wren to meet her, but after finally seeing her new sister, she refused to hold her, instead holding onto Penguin and hiding her face in his shoulder. After you bring Ivy home, Wren still isn’t interested in seeing her much, attaching herself to whichever one of you isn’t holding the new baby at the time.

Eventually, when Ivy is sleeping in her bassinet one day, Wren stands up on her tiptoes to watch her baby sister sleep. She’s still not sure about this, having a little sibling so suddenly, but she’s starting to think it’s okay, after watching you and Penguin with her the last few weeks. Wren reaches out and barely touches Ivy’s tiny hand, almost beaming when her baby sister grabs onto her finger.

You and Penguin had been watching Wren while she stared at Ivy, just making sure everything was all right, and it makes him smile at the same time when she starts to accept her new baby sister. When you lean into him, Penguin hugs you close and kisses your temple.

“I told you everything would be fine. She just needed some time.”

“Yeah, I know…you’re always right in the end.”

Having twins was a trip already, you still don’t know how Sanji convinced you to have another child. Sora and Angel were a handful at times, but now that they were five-years-old, they could do more on their own, and Sanji used that as a reason for you to go ahead and have your next baby, which ended up happening immediately. You figured it would be a few months of trying before you got a positive test but nope, first try out the gate and here comes baby number three.

You don’t mind so much once your second daughter is born, a blonde little girl you choose to name Grace, she seems so much smaller than either of the twins were despite being born full term. She’s a perfect addition to your family though, and your twins think the same when they get to meet her.

Both are pushing the other away from the nursery bed, standing on the side facing out from your hospital bed, trying to get a good look at their sister. Angel is beyond thrilled at having a baby sister, while Sora just wants to see what she looks like.

Sanji eventually goes over and lifts up Angel, telling the two to be quiet because you were sleeping, and so was baby Grace. Angel quiets when she’s able to see her little sister better, Sora following suit as he can actually see her now. The two just watch her sleep, Sanji wonders if they’re actually happy or worried about having a new baby sibling until Angel looks at him.

“Can I hold her?”

“I wanna hold her!”

“I asked first!”

“I’m older!!”

Sighing, Sanji smiles in relief, glad your twins are excited about the new baby, until she starts to cry because they’ve disturbed her with their argument about who gets to hold her first.

Keitaro has just barely turned two when you have your daughter. You never expected to have two in two, but it happened and truthfully, you weren’t upset about it when you found out you had a little girl. She’s so tiny when Zoro holds her, he's completely in love the moment he sees her. Your children were both unplanned, but you don’t think you’d change anything about how your life is going, and Zoro is the same, he's told you that multiple times.

When Keitaro properly meets her, it’s a few days after she’s born, some rule the midwives in Shimotsuki Village still follow, they wouldn’t even let Zoro be with you when you gave birth, you really had wished you were still on the Sunny this time. It’s not really a formal meeting for the two, but you think it works just fine.

Keitaro sits up on the floor by your daughter laying on a pink baby blanket that Robin had given you for her, she just somehow knew you were having a girl. Your son just stares at her for a long time, a pacifier in his mouth that doesn’t let you see what he’s really thinking. He reaches over to touch her cheek after a few minutes, a small giggle leaving his mouth when she scrunches her face and pouts in her sleep. Zoro stops him before he does it too much, placing his hand in front of your toddler’s to keep him from making her cry.

“That’s enough, you don’t want her to cry.”

Keitaro whines before pouting himself, until he squeals when Zoro lifts him up and sets him in his lap.

“Her name’s Kuina. What do you think, buddy?”

He tries to sound it out, but he’s still too little to say it correctly, the name mostly coming out as ‘Koo-na’, which makes you smile even as he starts to get frustrated and nearly cries before you gently shush him.

“Shh, it’s okay. You can just call her baby until you’re ready.”

Rubbing at his eyes, Keitaro yawns and snuggles against Zoro, part of his frustration being from needing a nap. You both watch as your children sleep quietly, glad their first meeting went well, anxious to see how the two grow up now.

Your and Corazon’s first child, a baby girl, comes along just two months after you’ve taken in and formally adopted ten-year-old Trafalgar Law, when you’re both just twenty-three yourselves. Almost overnight you have two children to take care of, though Law isn’t that interested in your daughter at first. You get it, he’s still working through the sudden loss of his parents and little sister, he calls you and your husband by nicknames, not viewing you as his parents yet but that’s fine, you don’t want to rush anything with him.

It’s why you tell Corazon not to force Law to see your daughter right away, when the boy refuses to have anything to do with her and leaves your hospital room. You’re not upset at all, you know this must be hard for him. To lose and regain a family in a matter of weeks, then have a new sister so quickly as well, it’s a lot to take in at such a young age. You know he hasn’t gone too far, probably just sitting by your door, he’s just overwhelmed, you reason to Corazon, who nearly dragged Law back when he turned to leave before running out.

“He needs time, we need to give him that.”

It’s later that day, when Corazon has left to get something for him and Law to eat, that he leaves the three of you alone, finally convincing Law to at least sit in your room instead of outside the door. You have been holding your daughter for a while, noticing that Law is quietly looking over every now and then, and it makes you smile.

“You wanna come see her? It’s okay if you don’t. I won’t force you, Law.”

He doesn’t say anything, but eventually comes over, sitting beside you to get a look at your newborn while you adjust her blanket so he can see her face better. It’s hard for you to get a read on Law sometimes, he’s already good at masking his emotions, so you give him a few minutes of watching her before you say anything.

“Her name is Evangeline. What do you think?”

“…she’s small.”

“She is! She’s got her daddy’s hair too!”

“I was hoping she’d look like you.”

That makes you laugh lightly, nodding. It probably has to do with his sister having looked like his mother, you’ve seen the few pictures he has of his family. They were both lovely, Law looks just like his father. After another moment or so, you’re surprised but happy to see him reach over and let Evangeline hold his hand, the slightest smile on his face.

“Can you do me a favor, Law? Evie is my first baby, and I know you’ve had a bit of experience with your sister…can you help me and Rosinante take care of her? She’s going to need a great big brother to watch over her.”

There’s no response for a bit, but when he nods, you’re happily relieved. You were worried that he wasn’t going to accept another change so quickly, even though you knew it would likely take a long time for him to get used to this.

When Corazon comes back, he can’t fight the smile on his face to see the three of you sleeping, Evangeline still in your arms while Law is attached to your side, holding onto your arm.

Everything is going to be fine.

Modern Siren AU

Totally not using your tags @pharaohzeth as an excuse to expand on my modern siren au

Toooootally not 😏

So this is an au wherein Sora, a siren, escapes from Germa with all of her children before Judge can use them as weapons, since sirens are very dangerous magical beings. They end up in Loguetown where they meet Zeff, who brings them under his protection (and eventually becomes their new dad 🤭).

That's the background. The main story takes place when the siblings are in university.

So it is technically a zosan au, so it follows Zoro meeting Sanji second year as they are rooming together. Zoro had an experience as a child where he saw mermaids in the water but no one believed him, so he mostly kept quiet about this story except for his closest friends: Kuina, Luffy, Ace, and Sabo.

Now that he is rooming with Sanji, however, Zoro is slowly drawn into the hidden community for magical creatures mostly on accident. And that's where Ace plays a part.

Ace and Ichiji were roommates their first year of university, so as for the main story, they are already dating. And Ace knows about Ichiji and his siblings being sirens. *And* Ace knows about Zoro's mermaid sighting. 👀👀

And this is the color schemes for the siblings in this au (just age 21, rather than 19 like they'd be in the story)

Biggest 'scandal' of the new world lol

Law starts dating Luffy. He is a romantic and all proper about it. He wants to do a meet the parents/guardians. Well, he wants to introduce Luffy to Cora, his parents not being alive, Cora is the next best thing. It is complicated, and he hasnt quite defined the exact familial relationship he has with Cora. They just got reunited.

Still he asks the man, and Cora ofc tears up 'my bby boi grows up so fast'

Law almost 30 is just like 😑

Then he goes to Luffy, who is like, "Uh... Shanks? He's like cool" Followed by a shrug. "Dadan raised me though, and like Makino, plus old man Garp and Sabo's dad, I guess." He just lists of everyone he can think of.

Law not realizing just how big Luffy's family is, considering he never talks about it.

They start with Shanks. Law tracks him down and goes on his ship to ask for a blessing to date Luffy, which Luffy thinks is silly but he gets to see Shanks!

Plus there is a party, which leads to the 'scandal' part of this xd

Cora is there ofcourse, he is part of the heart pirates and doesnt go far from those kids, they are his family xd

Cora wondering over to where Shanks is getting drunk with Beckman. They start talking, trading stories about their respective kid, laughing and getting more wasted.

Shanks who very much likes blondes and to have some fun, Cora who is a little rusty but the alcohol makes him want to unwind and they get closer as the night drags on, followed by going to Shanks' quarters.

Which is how Law and Luffy finds them, they were looking for Cora and Shanks, as they were planning on leaving.

Law being a stuttering mess, blushing as if he cant believe. Luffy laughs as if it the funniest thing that their guardians ended up in bed together.

Something he and Law havnt done yet, because Law insisted on this little tour, and Luffy is always up for an adventure.

Cora is a blushing mess, scrambling to get his shirt on, trips, and falls. Shanks hung over, and half awake is no help, as he tries to get up and help Cora, only to fall on top of him, getting a flirty look

Law wanting nothing to do with any of that drags Luffy out of the room, regretting he ever had this idea in the first place, and the fact that it led to Cora and Shanks hooking up xd

He warms to the idea when he sees how happy Cora is talking on a snail with Shanks after that, and every time, they meet up for random dates xd.

Luffy suggest a double date would be fun. Law mortified at the idea of seeing them making out immediately goes nope, and nope. Distracting Luffy with something xd.

They still end up having the double date, and its actually fun for all of them, even if a bit awkward xd

ace definitely has a little bit of the “you’re a deadbeat for leaving him here” mindset, and sabo’s both like “i owe you my life for saving me” and “hey that’s not very cool.” he’s a little conflicted since he doesn’t have a good example on what a dad should be like. i mean neither does ace but u know how he is

garp deefinitely made a stupid decision and they all get onto him for it lol, especially upon finding out luffy was dumped in the mountains not long after dragon passed him off. ace knows well the bandits aren’t the best at raising children so he’s very passionate about how shitty of a move he thinks it was. no bad hatred or malice, since he’s not terrible or as bad as he could be, just two kids that hold heavy grudges for as long as humanly possible and an agitated man that realizes he really should’ve known better

ace frowned when you pointed that out and grumbles something you can't hear under his breath angrily.

"sabo, he's only 2 years older than you. our dad is 10 years older than mom so why does that matters?" you asked them with an annoyed look on your face.

"traffy is a good guy, don't worry!" luffy smiled and give a thumbs up to his brothers and immediately got ignored making him pout and focusing back on his game.

"how long have you been dating him?" sabo asked after few minutes of silence. you sigh in relief when he finally relaxed. "almost a year now. today is our first anniversary." you mutter nervously, looking down on your feet to ignore ace's glares.

"why didn't you tell us about this?" this time ace is the one that asked and you immediately gulped, your eldest brother is too scary.

"luffy knows and um i didn't tell you guys because i was not ready."

ace and sabo immediately look at the youngest and luffy didn't even act like he cares as he munch on his chips. "what? traffy said he gonna take care of her and i trust traffy."

"have you guys ever had sex?" sabo asked seriously and you immediately choked on your spit making you cough loudly.

"y/n!" ace immediately pat your back gently. "calm down you idiot."

after drinking water thanks to sabo sprinting to the kitchen you calmed down. "no we haven't.. done that yet."

"okay good. make sure you use protection if you.. do that" sabo pat your head before he share a look with ace.

".. have you two kissed?"

well now that's a dumb question. who would ask that to their sister who has been dating a guy for a year?

"are you dumb?" luffy asked before you can even say anything and god it made you cackled so loud.

after few seconds there's knocks on the door, you were about to open the door when sabo stopped you and let ace open the door instead.

and there were your handsome boyfriend standing perfectly with a bouquet on his hand, he look a bit confused before realizing that your brothers finally found out about the relationship.

"..hello, im here to pick up y/n." law said to ace and sabo calmly and silently nod at luffy to greet him making the younger one waved happily. "HI TRAFFY!"

"hi babe" you smiled as you walk to your boyfriend. "dont mind them, they're just being dumb." you said as you kissed his cheek and law feel like sabo and ace glares can literally set him on fire.

"im going now, dont follow us you shitheads!" you warned your brothers before wearing your heels and dragging your man yes YOUR MAN away from your house.

"LANGUAGE!" you heard your brothers shouted.

after finally getting a moment to be alone with him in the car, you sighed and held his hand, "sorry about that. you know.. how crazy they are when they found out luffy was dating zoro too."

law just shook his head and gently caress your face, "don't worry about it. now shall we go? because i can see your brothers staring at us from the bushes"

Sandor didn't see you at first. He heard you two aisles over. He was at a 24/7 supermarket. He usually goes at night because of his face. He didn't like the stares and the people pointing. His height doesn't help as well, so he tended to do stuff at night. 

He heard you yelling and at first he wasn't going to help because it ain’t his business, especially since he didn't understand what you were saying. He thinks it’s Spanish because his coworker Bronn, who was learning the language to impress his neighbor, Margaery had been yelling the word, coño for everything. He heard you yelling the word again.

He was going to walk away until you started to scream. “Don’t you fucking touch me.” Sandor was quick to push his cart towards your voice. He wasn't going to leave now since he heard that. 

“The fuck you doing?” Sandor yelled when he saw a man towering over you, practically pushing you against the shelves. The man didn't even say a word, one look at Sandor he quickly scurry off like a rat. 

“Que cabrón.” You mumbled under your breath as you watched the man run off. You looked to your right to see your savior but he was already turning away to leave. 

You quickly caught up to him and thanked him for intervening. His first thought of you was you were beautiful, very beautiful and you were nice. He was surprised that you offered to cook for him when you noticed the ungodly amount of frozen tv dinner in his cart. 

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach is the saying Sandor heard and didn't believe until he ate your cooking. He knocked on your door and his nostrils were filled with the smell of spices. His stomach rumbled and he was salivating. He never had a home cook meal before. You welcomed him inside and he was shocked at the amount of food at the table. Steak, rice, beans, salad, and all sorts of side dishes. Sandor learned what plátanos were and he fell in love with them. Maduros with cheese and tostones had become his favorite food. 

After a year dating him, you had mentioned to him about your family. He was a little bit weary since he knows you have a very large family. He has heard your family calling you on the phone while cooking or cleaning. Sometimes he would wave when your family video calls you on WhatsApp. Poor Sandor isn't used to it. 

He told you about his family. His sister died young and his older brother is in jail. Parents were gone the moment Sandor became 16 and he hasn't heard of them since then. You wanted to cry when he told you about his childhood and how he got burned. 

You bribed Sandor to come with you to your nephew's birthday.  You told him this would be the best way to meet the family. You would be cooking maduros with cheese for the next two weeks. 

Sandor didn't want to go to the party empty handed even though you already bought a gift. He didn't want to be rude but he thought you were joking when you told him he can bring a pack of Corona to the party. “But it’s a kid's birthday.” He told you while you were doing your hair in the bathroom. 

“Babe, we are Hispanic. We have beer for every celebration.” Sandor bought 2 packs of 24. He wanted to get on your dad’s good side.  He wasn't feeling nervous until he parked in front of your childhood home and saw the balloons tied on the railing of the stairs.

“Relax, mi amor. You look good.” You gave him a quick kiss on the lips. He wore dark blue jeans with a button down shirt. He had even trimmed his beard and combed his hair. He was still nervous that your family wouldn't approve of him or would make fun of his looks. You watched as Sandor got out of the car and carried the beer with ease. 

His stomach was flipping when the front door opened and a small older lady came out wearing an apron. “Mija!” Sandor knew it was your mother. You had shown him many pictures of your family. Your mother gave you a big hug and a kiss on your cheek. 

“Mamá, este es Sandor, mi novio.” Sandor had placed the cases of beer on the ground and was going to shake your mom’s hand when she walked towards him and gave him a hug. You grinned at the sight of your mom next to Sandor. The top of her head reached below his chest. 

You couldn’t help but grin when Sandor started to blush by your mother’s hug. “Ven. Ven.” Sandor and you made your way to the backyard. Sandor can hear the music playing in the background, children laughing, and people dancing and talking. He kept looking at the flashy and colorful decorations. It was something he wasn’t used to hearing and seeing but he liked it. Everyone looked so happy. 

Beforehand you had told Sandor that he had to introduce himself and greet every single family member. Sandor was feeling a bit overwhelmed, he hasn’t received so many hugs and kisses on the cheeks in his life. No one seems to mind his features. He got nervous when your little cousins, nieces and nephews came towards him. Children were always scared of him. They all looked at him with wide eyes. 

The kids weren't shocked by his face at all. They were just simply amazed by how tall he was. Your mother had to come and tell the kids to run along when they started to form a line so they could be carried on Sandor’s shoulders. They yelled how they could see mountains and the oceans while they sat on his shoulders. They compared their small hands with his very large hands. You had to calm your tias down because they kept telling you how tall and built he was. 

Your father opened a beer for Sandor and sat next to him while your mom fussed over Sandor, making sure he had enough on his plate. Sandor had to unbuckle his belt after the fourth plate of food. You tried to tell your mom that Sandor was stuffed but she wouldn’t have it. 

“Pero hija es tan flaco y alto que significa que necesita comer más.” You shook your head at your mother. “Calentaré unas tortillas para Sandy.” She said, watching Sandor scarf down another plate of food happily. 

Some of your family members started calling Sandor, Sandy because they couldn’t pronounce his name due to their accent. Especially the little kids but Sandor didn't mind it though, he found it kind of funny. Since the nicknames he usually is given are mean ones.  

Sandor smiled when it was time to cut the cake and saw your little nephew sitting behind a big cake. You were standing next to Sandor as everyone sang Happy Birthday.  You looked at Sandor and saw him clapping his hands instead of singing, since everyone was singing in Spanish. 

It was official, Sandor a.k.a. Sandy was your nephew’s best friend. Your nephew was in tears because the pole that was supposed to be holding the piñata broke. Sandor rose up from his seat and held the paper machete rainbow colored donkey above the kids head. Afterward, your nephew was sitting on your lap as he was showing Sandor his little bag of candy along with small toys he had gotten from the piñata.  You were in shocked that your nephew gave Sandor a manicho, a chocolate bar with peanuts for him to try. These little kids never share their piñata candy.

“Tiene ojos tristes, mija.” Your mother told you as she sat on the chair next to you. Both of you were looking out to the backyard to see your cousins talking with Sandor as they stood by the grill.  You agreed with your mother. “He doesn't have a good family, mami.” 

“Ahora tiene una nueva familia.” Your mother had told you before leaving. You knew she was right as you watched the little kids hugging Sandor’s legs while he shook your cousin’s hands.

“This is for you, mijo.” Sandor was about to refuse but saw you shaking your head as your mother started to tie the plastic bags filled with Tupperware of foods from the party. Both of you stood by the door saying your goodbye to your parents when Sandor felt your mother tugged on his shirt making him lean down so she can kiss his burned cheek.

The ride home was quiet, you kept stealing glances over at Sandor. He had a faint smile on his face as he drove to his apartment. Getting inside and walking to the kitchen with the leftovers that your mother packed, you were storing them in the fridge when you heard Sandor come into the kitchen. 

He said your name softly and you looked over at him. “What does mijo mean? Your mother called me that before we left.” You shut the door of the fridge and walked over towards him. “It means son.” Sandor looks away from you for a moment and you hug him. He wraps his arms around your shoulders pulling you closer to him.

I'm sure people have talked about this before BUT I AM thinking about an au where Rouge had a terrifying Devil Fruit power and ridiculously strong Haki (like Boa but... you know. not like that at all thank you.) and managed to have HER OWN ISLAND that The Navy refuses to touch. (Like Boa! Without the Warlord part.)

What if Ace got his good navigational instincts from her, and the island was somewhere basically impossible to get to. (Unless you're a navigational genius.) Which immediately connects it in my mind to a Bell-mere lives au.

Things I'm imagining happening:

-Rouge raising Ace herself on that island

-Garp finding her as he promised he would, and seeing a good opportunity, promptly dropping Luffy off forever

-Sabo sneaking on Garp's ship to get away from his parents, and managing to make it there as it happens to be where Garp is heading next for another quick visit to try to indoctrinate Luffy (and Ace) into The Marines

-ASL brothers again<3

-kid Ace being fucking crazy in an entirely DIFFERENT way. He didn't suffer from living under Roger's shadow (Rouge never even mentions that deadbeat) but he and his mom are very much alone on this island so he goes Insane

-Luffy and Sabo are still the best things to happen to him and slowly make him calm down a lot

-Rouge DOES want to bring more people to the island because obviously she does not want her son to be deranged but it's difficult to trust people when The World Government wants her son dead so badly. Also a nearly-impossible-to-reach incredibly dangerous jungle island is a hard sell. lol

-She is going insane in her own way but she throws herself into raising them well and training them and herself to be as strong as possible, so they can protect each other if the government comes for them

-She definitely knows about Dragon being Luffy's dad, tricking that out of Garp was Not Hard. lmao

-Sabo opens up about his backstory to her eventually too. Someone protect these kids from the damn government!!!!!!!

-In this au, Bell-mere is strong enough to get Nami, Nojiko, and herself out of Coco Village when Arlong takes over, but not strong enough to defeat them and free the village

-She tries to get Navy assistance but is met with bald-faced corruption. Extreme disillusionment follows

-They travel for a few years, Bell-mere always trying to get stronger so they can return and save the village one day.

-Nami studies hard and has plenty of opportunities on the sea to polish her skills as a navigator.

-Nojiko remains deeply hurt and outraged by The Navy's betrayal. Since she was older she had been told many more stories from her mom's time with them, and thus had a much stronger attachment to the idea of them. Being left by The Marines, with her whole community, to suffer and die, shook her entire world. She seeks out people who don't look kindly on The World Government everywhere they go, collecting stories. She has hopes of joining The Revolutionary Army one day

-This is also a Sora lives au. (@ Oda Stop killing all the moms! Let them unionize!) One day on their travels they come across a sickly woman and her two kids, Reiju and Sanji, who are on the run from a mysterious (in the East Blue) Mercenary Army.

-It goes like this: the two groups are in the same diner. Soldiers of Germa 66 bust in and try to grab Sora and her kids. They scream and cry for help. Nearby Marines intervene. This obviously doesn't look good for the Germa soldiers, attempting to kidnap a sickly woman and two young kids in broad daylight. They try to pay off the highest ranking Marine there to look the other way, with an absolutely outrageous sum. It works.

-Nojiko charges. Bell-mere didn't expect her usually cool-headed daughter to do something so reckless, and doesn't realize she'd gotten up until she heard the crash of Nojiko kicking the top Marine in the head. Nami had been paying more attention, and is already primed to hit the same Marine in the back with a diner chair before he can retaliate on Nojiko.

-Despite their training, they're kids, and these are Marines. If Bell-mere wasn't there, it would've been a world of hurt. But Bell-mere of course is right there, and takes down all three Marines before they know what hit them. In the chaos, Reiju takes down both Germa Soldiers with her superior strength.

-Now they're a group, standing in a public place, with a pile of Marines (and Mercenaries) at their feet. Yikes.

-They run together.

-Reiju and Nojiko, both being oldest girls about the same age, recognize each other and bond instantly. They convince their mothers' they'll be stronger together.

-Bell-mere was easy to convince, suffering from survivor's guilt from the occupation of Coco Village, she's very quick to take on other's burdens. Sora, despite feeling an instinctual trust for and deep attraction to this tough butch who saved her life, is much more hesitant. Putting her life and resources in the hands of one very powerful person was what got her into this mess.

-But it's not easy to make Reiju happy, a girl who takes responsibility for both her mother and younger brother, who orchestrated their escape, who defends them physically, who has a childhood of training to repress herself to unlearn. Sora saw Reiju actually laugh with someone other than herself and Sanji, and she can't take this new comrade away from her. Not to mention having another protector in Bell-mere could ease Reiju's burdens. She has to say yes.

-And it's a good thing she does, because the top Marine they knocked out kicks up an absolutely ginormous fuss. Suddenly Bell-mere, Sora, and the kids are wanted criminals with posters strewn everywhere. It takes all their wits and strength combined to survive.

-They're on the run together for years before they make it to Rouge's Island.

-Nami is younger than Sanji, but at this age she's bigger than him, and he's a huge crybaby while she keeps a very brave face. She's utterly delighted to treat him like a little brother, much to his annoyance. "I'm not the youngest anymore!" "Yes you are! Stop it!" "You can't be bigger than me when you're such a baby." "I'm a baby?! I saw you get scared too!" "No you didn't! Shut up!" They get very competitive.

-Reiju and Nojiko have the kind of weird little girl best friendship that has the intensity and power to destroy worlds. They are on levels of telepathic connection previously unheard of. And they are so serious about it and so fucking goofy. The SCHEMES they get up to.... And of course constantly being made to drag their little siblings along for the ride

-Picture this. They've been docked at the same island for a couple weeks. They're having an easy time, they've just gotten comfortable with a good doctor for Sora and a nice place to stay for a bit. The kids see a Marine Ship out sailing nearby while they're playing on the beach. If they tell their moms, they're sure to pack up and leave immediately. Of course the answer is to scare off the Navy ship themselves with a fake sea monster.

-Yes it's the end of the world if this mission fails. They'll have failed their families, and the concepts of bravery and justice, and they'll all die and get killed and never join the resistance or anything ever. Yes this fake sea monster needs to have extra whiskers.

-So serious. SO GOOFY.

-Meanwhile their moms are having the most repressed intense butch-femme erotic slow-burn romance of all time in the background.

-Bell-mere, in her head: How much of this is coming from my fucked-up desire to save people? Am I fetishizing her weakness? What's wrong with me? If I have to see the glow of her soft skin, shiny with the sweat of illness, peeking out from beneath her long dress one more time I am going to faint and die.

-Sora, in her head: How much of this is coming from my fucked-up desire to be saved? Am I fetishizing her strength? Do I just want to give up responsibility so badly? Am I appreciating her as a person or do I just want what she can give me? If I hear her loud laugh of victory after buying food for what barely counts as a bargain one more time I'm simply going to explode with love and desire.

None of the kids notice this at all even a little bit.

-Of course with Nojiko's story-gathering and Nami's navigational genius, and the Marines still hot on their tail, and Sora and Bell-mere's desire to find a place to finally stop for the sake of their kids, they do eventually make their way to Rouge's island.

-Rouge, at this point deeply deranged with isolation, fear for her sons, and suspicion, does not greet them well.

-Bell-mere does not take no for an answer.

-Their fight leaves a giant crater in the side of the island. It lasts for days, and only ends because while they were distracted all their kids did an enemies-to-best friends speedrun.

-Lead of course by Luffy, who despite loyalty to Rouge and natural suspicion of her apparent enemies, has little willpower against the smell of Sanji's cooking. His completely earnest undignified begging by the campfire endears him to the others, as well as his heartfelt thanks, and their kind and patient treatment of him endears them to his older brothers.

-Also they're all lonely as hell so it truly does not take much. They're running around the jungle, being given a tour of the best spots on the island by the ASL brothers FOR LITERALLY HOURS before at the same exact moment Reiju, Nojiko, and Sabo all go Oh Shit We Should Probably Stop Our Moms From Killing Each Other.

-Lol.

-I have other ideas involving Robin, and I want to save Banchina (Usopp's mom) as well. I think what this au needs is a doctor character. Someone Rouge trusts to help her give birth, who is also an enemy of the world government, who can stay on the island with them. Who can treat Sora when they arrive. (Treat not heal, her being chronically ill and disabled is important to me.) But I can't think of anyone who isn't needed elsewhere.... I guess I have to make them up....

GOD chapter 59 was SO GOOD n i have a lot to say so sending an ask instead of leaving it on the post.

i /love/ when you make things hyper detailed, because your shading techniques are so much fun to sit n stare at and soak in for a while. that being said, the coloring of the wine spilling is what does it for me this time. it still would have been really cool in bw, but not as cool as seeing all the shades of red over the dark blue bg. you did the glass really well too!! I don't think there's a noticeable difference between the wine color inside and outside the glass which is fine bc it's clear, so it RLY makes me appreciate the lighting you have around the glass rim to show the edge in contrast. that tiny little detail makes the image for me. stellar work. i love it

also i do wanna throw in appreciation for the handwritten serif. super well done at first glance it did look like you'd jus typed it out. idk what texture you have on the brush you use for words but it's rly nice to look at up close.

i think the color kinda tipped me off but i waffled bc i couldn't remember if either of his parents spoke in serif font and was a bit daunted to dig thru 50+ chapters to confirm who it was if it didn't turn out to be them. i'm glad i looked at your tags tho haha saved me the trouble. what a way to end the act too!! i read this one on my phone and was scrolling thru the images at full size and after four or so i kept expecting it to cut off. it was a very pleasant surprise to have it keep going, worth the wait to have a longer chapter :)

His dad only talks in one scene, and his mother has never said anything yet, so i dont blame you if you couldnt find it. In my. Large repertoire of chapters ive accumulated.

I definitely felt the same about the pages when drawing them. But probably the opposite feeling lol. Mine was more like “ugh i forgot theres so many. How many more of these do I have to get through??? How did i do this the first act ending with 11 pages???”
