You and all your daughters dressed as Sith Lords....Taishiro was kind of disappointed to be the only one to choose being a Jedi, but everyone else in the park found it funny.

Yeah....so the Star Wars rides were his favorite since his daughters would get so into it

Especially his younger ones on Rise of the Resistance when Kylo Ren would appear

“No you big meanie! We are getting out of here!” One of them yelled, Taishiro not being able to hold in his laughter as he looked to you trying to hold in your own giggles at your daughter’s reaction

Back at the hotel room everyone would just end up piling up onto one bed to excitedly talk about the day while everyone took turns showering...

everyone would just end up falling asleep together on the same bed

You and him would end up migrating to the other empty bed during the night

You mentioned wanting to go to Disney World once in passing? Guess that’s an invitation to plan a whole week trip!

Though everyone had to sit down and listen to you say that it was NOT ok to start flying around the park, that was a big no no

Keigo would end up riding a lot of the big scary rides with his two sons, the three of them having a blast together

Your daughter would just happily skip along side you, holding your hand as she was up for anything

Just not scary rides....she didn’t like the way her butt would kind of lift up from the ride’s seat sometimes

Though sometimes she would give a small tug on Keigo’s shirt and ask to ride a certain ride they were about to walk past. He would reroute themselves to head directly to that ride next

She was more into the Disney classics

Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, Carousel of Progress

Though she really enjoyed Pirates of the Carribean...though during Magic hours the ride was having difficulties which she was disappointed about

So he bought a few things at the gift shop and once back at the hotel room, you pushed her around on a chair while he dressed himself up with a hat, eyepatch, and hook and begin goofily re-enactmenting some of the moments she would giggle at on the ride, her two brothers joining in

Her brothers on the other hand loved Star Wars....but would often get into arguments about certain characters and the lore of the show and would ask their sister for her input...but she would only shrug her shoulders

“I like Princess Leia” she would simply stare as they would wait in line for a ride in Galaxies Edge

Keigo may have had no idea what was going on in Galaxies Edge, but he still thought everything was cool as hell and listened to his kids talk about what they liked about Star Wars.

Popeyes fried chicken was a MUST HAVE for dinner when they would head back to the hotel room

His kids would take that chance to put on Star Wars to educate him too at that moment.

Kids would be kind of tired in the morning because Keigo would honestly cause such a dang ruckus of bird noises because he was so dang tired by the time he went to bed

And its genuine, Taishiro genuinely looked at you like you hung the stars, even in outfits you feel insecure about

You had been checking out your outfit in the mirror, poking sadly at the pudge that was more obvious in the tighter tshirt. Then strong hands wound around your waist and settled over the cause of your insecurity. Butterflies erupted in your stomach as he continued to massage your problem areas and press kisses behind your ear.

A sigh escaped your mouth as you stared at your body in the outfit. You hated hero galas because the dress codes always called for clothes that you weren’t comfortable in. Before you could call out for your boyfriend, his strong arms pulled you onto the bed. Looking up you saw the redhead on top of you with a small pout on his face.

‘When I said nobody can talk bad about you, you know that includes you right?’

You huffed and looked down at your body, outfit even more unflattering at this angle. Once again, your fingers came up to prod at the thigh straining against the fabric. Strong fingers pushed yours away and pulled you down the bed.

‘Well if you don’t like yourself i’m just gonna kiss you better until you see yourself like I do, how's that baby?’

You didn’t have a chance to respond before surprisingly soft lips caught yours.

Digiweek Day 7 - Free day | TAIORA DISCORD ANNOUNCEMENT!

It's the 1st of August, Odaiba Memorial Day and @digiweek is coming to an end. So this day I would like to end Digiweek and celebrate the 1st of August with a little bang...

As some of you might know we are currently building a Taiora Discord server. It's not open yet, we want to be prepared in the best way possible and I can tell you: we're on our way! And it's gonna be awesome! :D

This way we would like to announce we have our minds set on opening up the server in 5 weeks from now! Mark it down in every calendar you own: SUNDAY 5TH OF SEPTEMBER 12AM (GMT+1)!

Yes, the server will be mainly Taiora focused, but you don't have to be a ride or die Taiora-shipper or whatsoever to join. Every multi-shipper (yes for taishiro, sorato, michi, sokari, taikeru, jyoura, taisuke, sorako but also takari, mimato, jyoumi, koukari, koumi, daikeru, kenyako and so onnn), every poly-shipper (taiorato, taikoura, taiorami :D), every 30+ years old-shipper, hell, even every non-shipper (who does appreciate the Taiora ship or either Taichi or Sora or is still figuring out the wonderful world of digi-shipping) is welcome. It's important to us we can 1) build an open and safe community for Digimon-lovers and 2) connect all the Taiora appreciators from all over the world. Spread the love and courage!

How, in Kizuna, both Yamato and Taichi know what Sora is up to and even though Taichi and Sora grew apart, they still have a special connection that's here to stay forever and shouldn't be left unsaid

Before you read on, two warnings:

Also, a little note and disclaimer: I can see people percepting this post as a Taiora-shipper heavily vouching for romantic!Taiora and bashing Sorato. Interpret it however you like, but just know that's not how I approached this meta. It's Sorato-friendly and Sorato-appreciative. Sure, it gives reasons for romantic!Taiora to have potential in canon, but it's mostly directed on how I see the -platonic- connection between Taichi and Sora and how it's portrayed in the Kizuna movie.

That being said, I do not own Digimon and therefore this is my view on it. I also didn't read the Kizuna novel, so everything not compliant with the novel is due to that. Anyway, happy readings!

Who remembers the Digimon movie Diaboromon strikes back probably knows how Sora is not present during the fight because she's on the tennis club trip. Or actually on her way back. We learn about this, because Koushiro asks where Sora is and Yamato -being her boyfriend obviously- is the only one who knows the answer. Cute boyfriend, truly!

In the Kizuna movie we see a little call back to this particular scene when Yamato and Taichi are eating together and talk about what all the others are up to (and how they seem to be the only ones who have no clue about their future yet. I feel that, unlike Koushiro I didn't run a freaking tech company at 21??!!! Seriously, who does that?!). Taichi sums up all the 01 Chosen Children + Daisuke, except for two: Takeru and Sora. Of course Yamato knows what Takeru is up to, so Taichi leaves that for Yamato to tell.

As for Sora... I think that's a bit harder and I've been thinking about this since the first time I saw it. Especially after I saw this post floating around on my dash every once in a while (and yes the Taiora-shipper in me wants my Taiora-heart to be soothed BUT this is not the main reason, believe me) and I just think Yamato isn't the only one who knows. Now let me try to explain myself.

TAIORA SHIPPERS UNITE

Last week this very sweet Anon found my Tumblr filled with my never ending courageous love for Taichi and Sora, a.k.a. Taiora <3

Anon asked me about a possible Taiora Discord server. It got me thinking and I’m ready to do an experiment! Because Taiora deserves all the love it can get.

Here’s the deal:

I’m a team player, a brainstormer and dislike working solo. Besides, I’m an ‘on-the-go learner’. So I’m looking for a maximum of 10 Taiora shippers/lovers/likers who want to figure out the wonderful world of Discord with me and build a Taiora server together. This will be for a maximum of 2 months. 

Together we can make up the terms/rules/guidelines, channels, roles, et cetera. To me it’s important to create an open and safe space!

We can try some of the features, maybe divide roles (because I don’t feel like moderating this thing all by myself...) and so on. This way I/we can prepare ourselves properly before we open it up to a wider audience!

If you’re interested in taking part in the experiment group/builders group you can send me a message here! I haven’t figured out how to send invitations or how to add new members to a server in Discord yet, so if you do know how to please let me know haha!

But sometimes, he'll snap at fans

He'll try to keep his words to be less hurtful

But his facial expression and tone could make a grown man cry

"Why is fatgum with a black girl? Did he not think of how his fans would feel? If he really cared, he wouldve had a girl from literally other race."

Since you were out in public surrounded by fans, he'd usually just squeeze your hand and try to wait till you could get home, but today he just wasn't having

"Fans? Youre no fan of mine sayin suff like that about my s/o. Im embarrassed that you left the house in my merch to say things like that about my s/o and her race. You make me, and my fans that are actually good people, look bad."

What he said was sort of in character

But again, his expression and tone were from a whole other person

The girl started crying on the spot, and when the two of you walked passed her and Taishiro mean mugged tf out of her, she ran in the opposite direction

After days like this, he can't even function properly till he gets it out of his system

So he'll mostly pace around and rant, maybe even punch a pillow

Taishiro just really doesn't understand how people could be so hateful to others because their skin is different

And it just makes him want to protect you from the hate of the world even more than he already does

He's probably cried over it more than once because it made him so mad

In cases like this, he pretty much just sits there, stares at a wall, and cries with his brows furrowed together

You try to calm him down and say its not his fault people are like this, and he shouldn't get so worked up over something he can't control

But he just can't help it because he loves you so much and he hates racism and hate speech in general

Summed up, Fatgum loves you

KEIGO

Hes so prideful of you

Literally shows you off every chance he gets

I feel like Keigo has been all over the world so hes seen how black women get treated

So manz had been defending you before yall were even in the talking stage

Pleasant Distractions

I can’t stop smiling, this was so bittersweet and soft and aahhhh….I used a female reader because it wasn’t specified, I hope that was okay. Also I LITERALLY just formed my blankets into a human body to try and figure out the anatomy of this whole thing.

You hadn’t known all of Fatgum’s friends, but a few of them were dear to his heart. Some of them were fellow heroes that he worked with so much that they were comfortable having a beer together, others were just casual friends from his previous days in police work. These ones, however, were fellow heroes.

Two to be exact. Snatch and Sir Nighteye. Fatgum hadn’t spoken to Snatch in a while, but he had worked with him before. They both cared deeply about their work as heroes, and both had an emotional side. Sir sometimes had to bring Taishiro back down to earth, and although he never thanked him for it, he was grateful to have a friend who could remind him to stay focused.

They had both died in Taishiro’s recent mission. You knew by the look on his face when he came home that night after so much paperwork and interviews that they must have lost someone. But two friends? Taishiro was broken. He cared for everyone around him so much, even if he hadn’t talked to them for a while up until this meeting.

He walked through the front door in his civilian attire in his low-fat form, still bandaged up from the hospital. You looked up from the snack you had, pausing the movie, “Ah, Tai, you lost w-”

“(F/N),” The look of utter despair in his eyes caught you off guard. You had only seen it once before when he had lost another hero friend. You jerked forward, putting your snack and the remote down. But you didn’t want to scare him, so you paused and slowly got up, “H-Hey…”

“Taishiro,” You cooed, walking around the couch and putting your arms out, “Hey, shh, it’s okay, come here,” He took a hesitant step forward, tears already welling in his eyes. He took a shaky breath, then nodded and leaned down to hug you. He immediately began to sob, and you rubbed his back, feeling his surge of emotions and struggling not to cry yourself. You loved him so much, and seeing him this destroyed was hard. He was always the light in the relationship, but sometimes he needed a stronger light to hold onto, and you would be that for him.

Sasaki?” You nodded, holding the man that was shaking like he was about to fall to the ground, “They just… They were so good, and they’re gone (F/N),” He held onto you with his good arm that wasn’t fractured, digging his fingers into your shirt, “Why… I know nobody knows the answer, but why does-does the world take the nicest ones away?”

“I’m sorry, Tai, I’m so sorry,” You whispered, squeezing him. He sniffled, pulling back a little. You glanced at the fridge, “Do you want me to reheat dinner?” He nodded quickly, wiping his tears away. They began to stain his wrappings, and you knew you would have to replace those before bed. You grabbed his good hand and led him around the pass-through so he could sit down, grabbing the food from the fridge and throwing it into microwave. While it heated up, you went behind him and wrapped your arms around his neck, hoping the contact was enough to calm the man down a little bit, “I’m so glad you’re alive, though, Tai. If it was that intense, you could have died…”

“If I could-” He paused, then shook his head, taking a deep, shaky breath, “No, I don’t want to leave you… Gosh, just please don’ mention that,” He swallowed hard, “I’m already so worried about my interns, they’re real beat up.”

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that in the first place,” You quickly backtracked. He just shook his head again and looked down at his lap, his cheeks squishing against your arms. You rested your own on his fluffy blond hair and waited for his food to ding. Once it did, you brought it over with a fork and he thanked you with a nod. You sat next to him while he ate, getting him a napkin to wipe the tears off his face. He never stopped crying while he ate, but he did thank you a few times over for cooking for him. Even if he ate ten times a day, your cooking was his favourite, and at this point it was a comfort to him. He definitely needed comfort right now. You offered to make more food, but he hesitantly declined, saying he didn’t know how much he could keep down.

 This worried you even more. He never denied food. Alas, you got him up and to the bathroom so you could look over his wounds. While you did, he mumbled, “I… I gotta get my uh… Fat back, so I can,” He looked away from you while you inspected his broken collarbone, replacing a couple layers of bandages that had already become soiled, “So I can wear the suit to the funerals.”

“Don’t push yourself, you’re allowed to be sad,” You reminded him, and he smiled for a second with a small nod, wiping his tears away again with his bandaged hand, “Aw, Tai, don’t do that. You’re messing them up,” You gently grabbed his hand. He winced, pressing his lips together with a nod.You had to replace a couple layers of the binding while he tried to compose himself. You kissed the bandages after doing them, and he whimpered with a small smile. 

You pulled him in for another hug, and he cried a little bit more before you headed to the bedroom. Apparently he had taken a shower at the hospital since he had to be there all day, so you both got pyjamas on. You struggled to find a good way for him to sleep, but on his back seemed to be the best. You curled up next to him, looking up at the large man. He was looking at the ceiling, breathing heavily. He was probably reliving memories of the two heroes, and you nuzzled into his neck, reminding him that he was right here. He chuckled, leaning into you. You smiled, wrapping an arm around his waist, “Hey.”

“Hey…”

“Anything I can do for you?” You pulled back to look at him. He looked surprised, then narrowed his eyes. That was the look he gave when he was thinking things over. You gave him all the time he needed, and when he nodded, he gave you a softer smile with his cheeks flushing.

“Maybe a small… distraction would be nice,” He pressed his lips together, looking away from you. You took a second to process what he meant, but when it went through, you couldn’t hold back a bashful smile.

“Of course,” Your arm that was wrapped over his chest helped you pull yourself on top of him, straddling his waist. His pupils immediately blew out as he let an expression of pleasant surprise take over his face.

“Oh,” The larger man couldn’t hold back a smile. You were usually on top because he was afraid of hurting you, and he was just such an easy person to fluster, but you leaned down seductively to his ear, placing your hands on his chest that was covered by a thin sleeping shirt.

“You know… You don’t have to hold back when you’re like this,” You rolled your hips against him, and he made a delicious choking noise. You chuckled at his cuteness, then yelped when he suddenly leaned up. You pulled back, still straddling his lap as he looked at you with embarrassed determination, “You- uh…”

“You’re right, I don’ usually get opportunities like this,” He grinned, and you felt a childish rush of adrenaline. You pressed your lips to his, and his arms wrapped around your back, cradling the back of your head in his huge hands like he was scared of letting you go. You wrapped your arms around his neck, taking in all of him - his fear, his loss, his need. Your lips danced together, parting momentarily for your shirts to come off. His fingers were too wide to even try to get your bra off, so you had to help him there. His cheeks were a fiery red, and the delicious colour traveled all the way down his neck and to his now-defined collarbones.

“Pants, Tai, pants,” You whispered in between heated kisses, and he nodded lazily, too caught in the moment to even think. One of his hands was trailing up your side, leaving goosebumps in its wake. He shifted to your breasts, feeling and gently rubbing them, causing you to gasp and roll your hips against him again. His breath caught for a second, and you were beginning to feel his growing erection against you.

“Taishiro,” You moaned, having to pull back from the ravenous making out, both of your lips bright pink, “Please,” You dropped a hand down to his pyjama pants, tugging lightly at them. His eyes widened for a second, and his blush darkened impossibly more so. He nodded as if he had forgotten all about what was coming next, and you climbed off of him, taking your own pyjama bottoms off. He was always embarrassed and flustered when it came to sex, but that was not to say that he didn’t love it, and he even sometimes took the reigns himself. Once you were both stripped down, you weren’t off his lap for long, “D-Do you uh… wanna lay down, or sit, or-” He muttered, avoiding eye contact. Your legs were already feeling raw as you rubbed them together uncomfortably - you needed him, and he obviously needed you. You giggled, glancing between the gentle giant and your pillow. He was rubbing his neck, cross-legged and as naked as the day he was borne.

“I can lay down,” His bright smile and nod was just too adorable to handle, and as the back of your head hit the pillow, he climbed over top of you, glancing down at your folds before quickly looking back up like he saw something he wasn’t supposed to see.

He literally gave you a thumbs up, then quickly realized how dumb he looked and scooted back so he was only partially over you. One of his hands trailed down from your stomach to your naval, then he pushed his pointer finger inside of you.

The feel of his rough, time-beaten hands inside of your wet folds brought a gasp from your lips. As if a switch had gone off inside his head, he chuckled, amused by your response. Knelt between your legs, he began to slowly pump his finger, his other hand finding your breasts and going back to squishing them. He always had an affinity for squishy things, and your body was no different. He was thoroughly enjoying himself, you could tell by his smirk.

“I love you too Taishiro,” You whispered with a giggle, reaching down to his dick and grabbing it, causing his eyes to widen, “But please fuck me.”

“Yeah, of course,” He spluttered out with furious nods, his huge dorky smile contagious. You aligned him with your entrance, and he pushed inside of you, apologizing softly for the tight fit. You shook your head, absolutely head over heels for his kind ass.

“Wait, your arm,” You realized his bandaged arm was holding him up. He shook his head, rolling his eyes. You whined, placing a gentle hand on it, “Be careful, okay sweetie?” He nodded with a closed mouth smile, excited to get to the main course.

He lowered his body by getting on his elbows, but he still wouldn’t press his entire body against you, probably still in the mindset that he would crush you. You didn’t mind: You leaned up to plant a caste kiss on his lips, and the goofy smirk returned as he leaned down to capture your lips, pulling his hips back before rocking them back into you, plunging deeper. You moaned into the kiss, wrapping an arm around his back to hold on. His pace started slow, but when you started to roll back into him, he knew he needed to amp it up. He was always so gentle with you, sometimes he forgot that you could take him.

He grunted as he slammed his member into you, the sound of skin against skin filling the room. You were both panting, lips mesh against each other except for the much needed breaths you would take. Romantic headcanons for Todoroki, Amajiki, Mirio, Sir Nighteye and Fatgum with shy and quiet but kind and patient s/o please?

i’m sorry but i’m gonna have to skip over sir nighteye because i’m not that far into the manga and i wouldn’t want to misinterpret him ): otherwise, enjoy!!

Todoroki:

> Shouto isn’t necessarily used to giving nor receiving affection from many people in his lifetime, the most ever being his mother and sister. Since going to UA has taken up all of his time he has grown to have a slight fear of intimacy and romantic gestures in general. 

> Despite his fear of intimacy, he’s perfectly fine with hugs and platonic gestures one could deem as romantic. He knows his boundaries with his friends and he knows that they respect his wishes. And when he first develops a crush on someone, he has to take a month or so to process what he’s actually feeling.

> It takes another couple months to figure out how he wants to word his emotions and get them across. He even goes to multiple other students for their opinion on how to go about it, and he finds much to his surprise that Uraraka has the best advice of all. “Trust yourself, follow your heart and the worst they can say is no!”. He gains enough courage from her words.

> Todoroki is too blunt to do anything extravagant tbh he just straight up told his crush he had feelings for them and that it confused him but he still liked them no matter how many times he tried to think his way around it. He told them he even liked himself better when they were together. After that, they didn’t date immediately, but they did spend a greater amount of time together. They took things slow and he appreciated the patience they had with him. 

> At a certain point, they both broke out of their introverted shells together and grew as people as well as a couple. He only feels comfortable with them when it comes to intimate times and romantic gestures, no one else. And he would prefer it to be that way for a long long time too. Most of their dates are simple and cutesy but his personal favorites have always been ones at carnivals; playing games, eating too much sugar, and going on the ferris wheel with the person he cared for more than anything else is always absolutely perfect to him.

Amajiki:

> Amajiki doesn’t have a good concept of being social outside of his friendship with Mirio and Nejiri. He struggles with speaking to new people, especially larger crowds, and wishes he could speak to the underclassmen or even students he’s been going to school with for three years but even then it’s still difficult. So, having a crush on someone he’s only spoken to a few times was undeniably one of the hardest things he’s had to overcome.

> Nervous couldn’t begin to describe the way he felt whenever his crush was nearby. Mirio would always have to be the one to help him with his words or to even get a casual conversation going between the three before making up an excuse to leave the two together. Eventually Tamaki grew accustomed to the interaction and managed to have one on one time with them.

> He’d have to confess through a love letter, finding to be too unbearable to say everything he thought and felt out loud. He was encouraged by his friends of course but he practically ran to the other side of campus after handing it off to his object of affection. They had to chase him down later that day to talk it out and there they decided to have their first date. 

> The first date is so a w k w a r d due to his anxiety of ruining things and their shyness in general. They decided to go to a more mellowed out place which happened to be a not-so-well-known cafe in an odd location. It was hard for him to make conversation because he was worried he’d either say something unintentionally rude or flat out stupid. Once this is confessed, they both spend a moment being flustered and encouraging one another that it’ll be alright, and the rest of the day went swimmingly.

> Tamaki loves that cafe to death now. They have a set day after school every week where they just walk there together, hand in hand, and relax with the live music and a cup of warm tea. They help each other with homework, teacher troubles, and other problems then goof off on a small couch in the corner (they definitely end up cuddling, they’re curled into his side). And it gets to a point where even the staff recognizes them and already has their drinks prepared when they arrive. It’s horribly embarrassing, but sweet.

Mirio:

> Already having a lot of attention from other students, he wouldn’t always be thinking about being romantically involved with anyone especially when he wants to focus more on becoming stronger and helping others (mostly the 1-A kids tbh). Sometimes he’ll get a random confession but he’ll have to turn em down because he doesn’t have an interest in them, unfortunately. He usually sends them off with words on encouragement that they’ll find their other half one day.

> When he does finally like someone he seems actually fairly calm about the whole thing but is internally screaming and crying because oh god what is supposed to happen now when his heart is about to fly away just looking at them. He gets really confused about it for a little bit before working on finding the time to confess. 

> His is simple! He knows they’re shy and doesn’t want to overwhelm them at all so he keeps it short nd sweet. He was nervous, of course, but easily got his point across to them with a bright smile in the end. And luckily they felt the same which was a huge weight off of his chest. Mirio would take them out on a date literally that day to the mall because he wants to show them his favorite ice cream shop.

> This boy is so full of energy and enthusiasm and he’s just so GEEKED to be able to be with someone who makes him as happy as they do! He often checks in with them if they’re alright, not unhappy or uncomfortable because their date was all about them being together and nothing else. He makes this well known quite often! 

> He cares about them so much and he simply cannot keep himself from telling them how much they’ve changed him. He feels that he has been overall happier with them, only hoping for them to feel the same way too. Their mutual trust and love is what he enjoys the most, and he just loves being around them as much as he possibly can. It gets tough sometimes for them to see one another but that’ll never stop him from always trying his hardest to be the Best Boyfriend.

Fatgum:

> Dealing with hero work isn’t always fun, even when he works with other heroes and even students to aid them with their needs but he enjoys it nonetheless. He would let all of his time be taken up by such an occupation and would keep the thought of a romance in the back of his mind. But.. he does think of it from time to time.

> Every time Taishiro sees a couple on the street it only makes him think more about having a relationship and even gets a little upset about it. But not in a way that would affect him for long, just a pouty and almost childish moment of greediness. He tells himself if and when it happens, it’ll happen. And, as if by a miracle in his opinion, it does. 

> They bump into each other on the street and he calms their rattled nerves with his dorky sense of humor, telling them not to worry about it. They continuously run into one another on the sidewalks after that, and even in the grocery store sometimes too. Soon enough, he shoots his shot thinking ‘couldn’t hurt to try’ and is pleasantly surprised when they agree to go out with him, at least just once!

> As expected, he takes them to his favorite restaurant and recommends practically everything on the menu but leaves the decision of whatever they want to eat up to them. He doesn’t want to force them into doing something they didn’t know nor anything they didn’t want to do either. Taishiro loves everything but he didn’t know he could love somethin more than food than watching their face light up when they first taste it. 

> From then on they see each other quite a bit then announce themselves as an item. Most of their dates include going out to eat (of course) to discover new restaurants, cafes, bars, themed places, and even cute little fast food dates. But he lets them choose a lot of the places they go to as well because where’s the fun if he always decides? He loves spoiling them to hell too so homecooked meals and little treats are a common thing. Taishiro loves em to death and would do anything to keep their heart racing smile on their face.

This ‘father’ was ... neglectful/emotionally abusive in ways (I’m so sorry for Kage//pros) he eventually ends up trying to kill her + her older sister + himself in a fire. She well. (Yeah. She survives. 7TH NOVEL SPOILERS) - the one visible though is actually not the father but more like a butler/maid from the same ‘house’ according to the author in old tweets. - there is nothing more said about that and hope to god it stays that way because. yeah. yeah - basically Kage//pros has MANY warnings re ‘deaths’ PLEASE TREAD VERY CAREFULLY AND ONLY IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE PLOT-RELATED DETAILS LIKE THAT - they are not actually ‘adopted’ by the way, technically it’s ‘fostered’ (confirmed via Japanese kanji in the original version). The Sorato – Taishiro Parallel

To celebrate reaching 100 followers, I wanted to do something for both the Sorato fans and the Taishiro fans who follow me. How about we look at that time they deliberately paralleled these two relationships in the Dark Masters Arc!

In the first scene, Takeru is kidnapped and Pinnochimon may kill him. Yamato is desperate to save his brother. Pinnochimon’s henchman threatens the group, and Yamato insists that they question the henchman for Takeru’s whereabouts before killing him. But the henchman attacks the group, and so Piyomon fights back in self-defense, killing the henchman. Sora thanks Piyomon, and Yamato loses his temper. He shouts and raises his fist at Sora.  Taichi grabs his arm to stop him. Yamato apologizes for his behavior in the next episode.

In the second scene, Hikari is ill and Mugendramon may kill her. Taichi is desperate to save his sister. Koushiro plugs his laptop into a wall to search for the whereabouts of medicine. However, Mugendramon uses the signal from Koushiro’s laptop to track down the children, and he sends his henchmen to attack them. When Taichi and Koushiro escape, Taichi loses his temper. He shouts and grabs Koushiro’s collar. Agumon and Tentomon grab Taichi’s arms to stop him. Taichi apologizes for his behavior immediately.

To be sure, they’re both disturbing scenes. But I care about this parallel because both relationships are able to overcome this conflict. Taichi and Yamato redeem themselves. And if you want to foreshadow a long-lasting relationship (whether platonic or romantic), you should show that your characters can forgive each other’s mistakes and move forward. Since Taichi and Yamato have tempers, it’s important to me that the story confronts that issue in their closest friendships.

I also love this parallel because it’s all about family! It sets up Yamato-Takeru-Sora and Taichi-Hikari-Koushiro as two families dealing with a conflict. Adventure is not a romantic show, but it does do a fantastic job with families. Having Yamato and Sora act as Takeru’s “parents” was a frequent foreshadowing tool for their future romance. Fortunately for my non-canon heart, once Hikari joined the group, sometimes Taichi and Koushiro got the same “parental” treatment!

Really, I just think it’s cool how the writers very-obviously-on-purpose paralleled Taichi and Koushiro with the canon couple! The writers could have chosen anyone to be the targets of Yamato and Taichi’s tempers. Choosing Sora—Yamato’s future lover—shows how far Yamato has fallen, that he would threaten his own “family.” Choosing Koushiro for Taichi has the same heartbreaking effect, because Koushiro is Taichi’s close friend. Both scenes are meant to show the boys at their darkest moments, when they have lost their minds out of worry for their siblings. That they end up threatening the redheads carries emotional weight, because Sora and Koushiro are arguably the boys’ greatest allies. Sora and Koushiro have always been loyal to the point of risking their lives, and they are a constant positive force in pushing the boys to act better.

Here are a few examples of how the writers established Sora and Koushiro as the boys’ constant allies:

From the beginning, Sora is always able to stand up to the older boys when they start shouting. She pushes them to be more considerate.

Sora secretly helps Jyou and Yamato at Digitamamon’s diner, without expecting anything in return.

Sora runs into battle, armed only with a stick, to rescue Yamato from a literal grim reaper with a scythe.

Sora comforts and encourages Yamato after they have lost Hikari.

In short, over the course of the show, we see how Sora is one of the few characters to get to know Yamato as a person and befriend him. She protects him, counsels him, and learns to understand him.

Koushiro faithfully recalls that Taichi was always a good person, even though he disapproves of the way he is currently treating Agumon.

Koushiro stops Taichi from recklessly running into the electric fence and explains why he should be careful.

Koushiro offers that he and Tentomon will fight Etemon alone, in order to give Taichi time to save Sora, even though there is no way that Koushiro and Tentomon could win this fight by themselves.

Koushiro expresses total faith in Taichi as a leader at Vamdemon’s Gate.

In short, over the course of the show, we see how Koushiro and Taichi’s already-strong friendship becomes stronger. Koushiro trusts in Taichi no matter how bleak the situation, and always gives him valuable advice.

On the flip side, Yamato and Taichi have been always great supportive friends to Sora and Koushiro. Here are their most iconic examples:

The moment that made little kids fall in love with Sorato. When Sora begins to cry about her mom, Yamato is the most respectful and understanding of her feelings. 

The moment that made fans swoon for Taishiro. After everyone has put their faith in Taichi to lead, Taichi picks Koushiro to solve Vamdemon’s puzzle and inspires the others to encourage the boy.

They’re both important moments that have a huge impact on Sora and Koushiro’s development. Yamato and Taichi supported the redheads when they most needed validation. It goes a long way to help the audience trust the boys. This makes their fall from grace all the more dramatic.

After writing all this, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that another part of the Dark Masters parallel is that both Sora and Koushiro are the most observant, understanding, and forgiving characters of the two boys throughout the arc.

How Sora sees Yamato

Before they meet Pinnochimon, we have the graveyard scene. Sora takes up half the screen so that she can properly observe Yamato lose his temper at Taichi and look concerned for him.

After Yamato sneaks away from the group, Sora is the only one who notes how his behavior was becoming more worrisome.

After Yamato apologizes to the group and says that he needs to leave, Sora asks if he wants company. When Yamato says that he needs to be alone, Sora says that she still believes in him. (*cough* Incredibly similar to how Koushiro said “I’ve always believed in Taichi-san” at Vamdemon’s Gate! *cough*) Sora also immediately comforts Takeru, and Yamato thanks her before leaving.

Even after Yamato has shouted at her and then betrayed the group, Sora remains compassionate. Sora is the only one who reaches out to Yamato to call him back to the group when they see him again.

How Koushiro sees Taichi

Before we meet Mugendramon, we have this scene. After Hikari falls ill, Taichi confides in Koushiro that maybe they shouldn’t have brought her with them, or Takeru.  Koushiro responds practically that they still need the younger children, and asks Taichi what’s wrong. Taichi demures, and Koushiro takes up the whole screen to look worried about him. 

After Taichi apologizes to Koushiro for grabbing his collar, Koushiro remains calm and understanding. He has deduced that something private must have happened to Taichi and Hikari, and so he asks specifically if that is the case. Taichi finally answers him honestly.

Even after Taichi has lost his temper at him, Koushiro remains steadfast in his loyalty. He continues to bravely speak up to Taichi and counsel him, even when Tentomon and Agumon act nervous.

IN CONCLUSION

Sora and Koushiro are both incredibly patient friends to the rascal boys. It’s a good thing that Yamato rescues Sora from the Dark Cave, and that Taichi protects Koushiro from Piemon as they wait for the party to regroup, because they definitely had to redeem themselves! They had to prove they were worthy of the redheads’ trust.

I’m certain that it was planned from the beginning that Yamato would freak out about Takeru in the final arc, and it was only natural for Sora to be written as his most observant, understanding, forgiving friend, since Yamato and Sora were created to fall in love.

When the writers decided to add Hikari to the group, they must have also decided to give Taichi a parallel arc where he would freak out about her, and in the process learn to be more sensitive like Yamato. Happily, Koushiro got to fill in the parallel role of Sora, as Taichi’s most observant, understanding, forgiving friend.

Was it meant to be queer romantic foreshadowing for Taishiro? No. But it’s fun to interpret it that way. :)

I rewatched Soshitsu
