Notes: In the books released post-series production and 02's conclusion, Steve was revealed to be the very first confirmed Jewish American Chosen Child, a significant step forward for the Digimon franchise, as it acknowledged the Jewish community living in real-world America.

Because Steve is Jewish, Steve would have been personally celebrating Hanukkah that year, not Christmas (hence I left out the last subtitle referencing Christmas to prevent confusion).

Chanukah in 2002, when 02 officially takes place, however, was November 29th ~ December 7th, and these scenes took place closer to Dec. 25th (early 3 A.M.). But that doesn't mean Steve, as a Jewish American, wouldn’t have noted Hanukkah (or Chanukah) at all earlier that year, and it’s good to note that when we're discussing potentials of 02′s “real-world based” “timeline”!

(Basically, what Steve is doing here is joining in on, via being invited by being a Chosen Child who is able and willing to help, an Interfaith gathering of individuals that was originally meant to simply send corrupted by virus Digimon back into the Digital World, and was not actually a "holiday" focused gathering initially!) :) {If Steve joins them after the fact is unknown, but either way, Steve would have to be invited and it would have to be acknowledged that Steve as an individual does not celebrate Christmas religiously.}

In the scenes above, Steve is one of only two U.S. Chosen that are also given spoken lines to personally thank and acknowledge Daisuke Motomiya's help (along with the rest, but also specifying Daisuke). {Michael aside, as even Michael doesn't get to comment verbally.}

^ Though Steve can't be seen clearly in the shot, in the 'gathering' of Chosen Children including many International ones, a Frigimon can very clearly be seen on left. A "missing scene" of Daisuke & Koushiro friendship from my other Adventures & 02 Chosen fic; "The Past World" You do not have to read that one to appreciate this "missing" moment, as its mainly friendship. There is a slight hint of Daisuke/Original ("Girl") Character OC, but its more lightly implied; (Epilogue semi-canon compliant) There are also background relationships like Taichi/Koushiro, the slightest hint of background Ken/Daisuke, others hinted.

1) Takari Week Day 7: Comfort OR Healing/Taking Care Of

Takari Week was the first Tumblr Week event that I got to be a part of and it was SO MUCH FUN!! I loved all of my responses but this one is my favorite; I’m partial to angst.

2) Knives Out Headcanon

This was another first. Do you guys ever watch something and think ‘imagine the Digidestined in *this* setting’? That happens a lot with me.. and I thought putting them in this movie’s universe was so “out there” but I love those kinds of ideas ;) 

3) "I’m never buying IKEA furniture again” (Koukari)

You know how you write a fic and you stop writing at the fluffy part because it was too cute to handle? Yeah, that’s what happened here. And it was amazing to see others feel the same way. XD <3

4) The Princess and the Dragon (Taiora, AU)

THERE WAS SO MUCH TAIORA (surprise, surprise) but I only wanted to choose one work. It was hard ranking my Taiora stuff personally LOL. But I’m going with this one because this one had hints of romance but was more about family love - Yagami siblings and of course, Papa Taichi and his baby girl <3

5) Effervescent Fires (Howl’s Moving Castle)

I hope to write more of this! I’ve been working on a fic about Calcifer. The idea of writing the story through the eyes of a cursed star/exasperated flame being is so fascinating to me. I can’t find the link to where I originally posted my excerpt (it was a few months ago but buried in the depths of Reddit, so I’m just going to post it under a cut. :D

The boy seemed to know this star's fate as he reached his arms up, holding out his palms for it to land. The star could tell as he settled with his gentle sparks leaving the boy's hands unharmed that this boy was no ordinary boy; this boy knew magic, and he could help him live.

The star could also tell that this boy wanted something in return. A contract? The star did not truly understand, but if it meant that he could avoid his fate for much longer, then he was willing to accept.

And so, with the boy’s inhale, the star was devoured and was met with darkness. It was a different kind of a falling, from all of the bright colors to none at all, until he stopped moving. After a moment’s pause, he felt a beat. A slow, steady tempo within him while his flames lit up in a soft blue.

The blue turned into bright orange as he flowed back out into the world and onto the boy’s palms once again. He was no longer a star on his way to the end; he was now a vivacious fire demon, entwined with the boy by the manner of his heart.

No words were spoken between them, but the fire gathered their introduction by contact.

The boy's name was Howl.

And his name: Calcifer.

Ooh! It’s been a while for me, too, I’m definitely overdue for a re-watch of the original series haha. I do generally look at some fandom stuff so I’ve kept up on some information outside of adventures. I once wrote a Tamers fic wayyyy back in 2003, which I think is the last time I saw that series, too XD

For the tag, if you mean #OTP: The only exception it’s based on this gem from the novels that @izzyizumi​ showed me! I believe the emphasis in red is theirs!:

Digimon Adventure{s} (Series)/[02] ~ (Closet!) Cosplay ~ (Post-02!)Koushiro[u] Izumi {Aesthetic[s]} / Detail shots {January 2k23} (I don't have a full-size plush of partner yet so I usually consider this Koushiro to be late-final-year of middle school Koushiro, or a Koushiro who enters high school and has a jacket in similar color / style as previously {I intended to cosplay Koushiro pre-Tri as well}.)

In my fic-verse, Koushiro has such a jacket in the darker green color; maybe different color tie and pants because the school location changes (I used "Odaiba High" at the time writing my old fic-verse). There, Koushiro was already in 2nd~ year of high school and Taichi was in the 3rd~ year about to graduate (by J.P.N school system schedule); the original fic follows them all through University years. In my fic-verse the green may also be slightly more "muted" to distinguish it, I haven't fully decided yet; but this jacket still looks pretty bright if sunlight hits it, despite it being dark emerald green) featuring (Me) / @izzyizumi Also in the original fic; The Digital Gate had, similar to Tri, since closed briefly; travel functioned a little closer to 02 still, when they could only see their partners briefly at times via Gate-hopping (until a lead-in to pre-epilogue era had them all "meeting" again under various circumstances). So the Koushiro I cosplay is one who's supposed to be a little distant from having seen partner 'Mon in a while and is feeling the effect of it. (They typically still communicated via brief e-mail messages when possible / when the Gate allowed contact, but it was different.) Fortunately Taichi usually comes in more and they start hanging out. {Wig was bought from & styled by a previous Koushiro cosplayer!} - The jacket for Koushiro's (02) "school!" uniform is actually closet cosplay jacket found in a regular department store sometime just before 2k15! Finding it in this exact shade / color was amazing, I'm not quite sure I'll ever find much close in the future!! (As it's from around 2k15, it's a little old, but holding up!) - Gold Laptop is my own! ( I couldn’t think of anything specific to do for this day’s prompt, so, compiles a bunch of AUs verses Aesthetic-like gifs with implied headcanons ) [ and also, a ficverse!Homeostasis quote featuring my “writing” / inspirations ]

[ + once upon a time, Oct. 25th, 2017, one day after my birthday. yes, I made a Taishiro Fan-soundtrack using THIS particular track as inspiration, remembered a certain other favorite series of mine had a ton of cool/actually fitting-for-the-themes/plot music, realized “ HEY I MAYBE CAN ACTUALLY MAKE AN AMV TO THAT SONG ”, and things kind of ... uh ... spiraled as I came up with too many AUs to list + EPILOGUE-ERA AUs / HEADCANONS ESPECIALLY INCLUDED ]

... And, you know, I don’t regret that I’ve worked on this 30k+ WORDS/AMVs. Even if only got a couple reviews initially, (I know, my writing is poor) [ there’s reasons for that that would be way too time-consuming to explain ] I met some amazingly kind fans via it I’ve received other nice comments since, too, honestly, after all the hard work/time I poured into those self-indulgent AMVs, I can only say to those who encouraged, supported, and chatted with me, ( me, a person with autism + severe anxiety who was terrified of posting anything with my deeper thoughts, ) those who gave it a chance, thank you so much. I’m genuinely SO HAPPY if my writing/fanworks could help ANYONE. to be honest I wrote more like 50k+ total words including extra shortfic bits but I got cold feet about posting the rest of them for now, I’m sorry... maybe someday I’ll post them to a more private/personal space where I can actually control (again) who follows me & interacts & follows my rules because ... yeah, some other people didn’t do this

there were numerous times I nearly gave up contributing Adventure contents including right away, from the very beginning, especially after seeing / continuing to see all the anti Adventure/Tri/canon Adv!Chosen hate/over excessive criticisms, and ... I’m glad I didn’t

Taichi and Koushiro both start, whirl around, glance at each other ---- --- run, together, to go stare at --- --- the screen ---- R E A D Y ?_ N/Y?_ _ _ _ -- the cursor -- flashes. Both of them, at the exact same time --- --- suck in breaths. Stare at each other --- --- back at the screen --- Sorry. I'm sorry it took me so long to contact you ( Taichi desperately thinks, ) ( " stop saying---!!!" ) Truthfully, I don't know if this at all is the right way " You must never interfere with time " after all There's a slight pause. Taichi risks a glance at --- --- Koushiro's eyes --- are a bit watery You could die we could die again endlessly eternally But, it's your choice The Digital World ---- --- it still exists but, it's, endlessly eternally, " Repeating " we may never be able to stop it I'm sorry. Taichi-san The other "Me" did everything he could your world was failing the enemies were winning so he " rewrote " the " code " in a last ditch effort to save everything it probably “ helped ” ... for now but even " I " can't stop this ( " it's ok " ) ( "stop" "saying" "sor----" ) ( "it's not your fault" ) ( "you [ b o t h ] did everything you could" ) ... Taichi and Koushiro's eyes ... remain, focused, ... on the screen, ... watery. I don't think " Homeostasis " is our enemy I believe " they " , too ... became corrupted along the way I think " we " ... realized that , too " Homeostasis " is not necessarily " good " , but they are also not " evil " , ... probably Instead, the true enemy, it's a much higher power you'll likely be fighting against " God " themself along with the very fabric of the Digital World's corrupted space-time ... I'm pretty certain part of this ordeal originates in a place called " The Dark Area " Koushiro's mouth is opening, in his surprise --- ( that look he gets when he's realized something ---- ) you may never be able to return I may not be able to contact you again So . . . The decision, it's yours R E A D Y ?_ N/Y?_ _ _ _ _ the text, it's flashing, not on the screen, ... but before them , Taichi and Koushiro slowly turn to stare at each other. [ " This wasn't ' our ' world to begin with, " ] [ " ... right ? " ] They aren't asking the question, but they both knew it , -- Koushiro, worrying ... his lip. Taichi -- breaths in breaths out "...Maybe this world did become---" " ' corrupted ' ? " " something like that---- " " but, Koushiro, " Taichi stands up, tall, gives his trademark beaming smile , ( Koushiro's almost gaping, in his awe ---- ) ( as he always is ) " Do we really have to trade it ? " ( " T h e m " ? ) Taichi's beaming --- --- eyes --- barely --- taking in --- the text " Because, " " I don't know about ' God ' or whoever, " " but, " " The Chosen Children , " ( " K o u s h i r o " ) ( " y o u " ) ( “ I---- ” )                             "   ---    WE          NEVER          LOSE    !!!   " Koushiro's mouth ... relaxes into a genuine smile ... if wobbly. " Yeah, " Koushiro breaths out " Taichi-san, " " as always , " " you're right " ... Taichi waves it off, grinning, " Koushiro " " the one who always guides us right is YOU " " ... remember ? " ... Koushiro's cheeks are red in response --- ... Taichi moves ... to ... put an arm ... around his shoulder. ... squeezes, gently, " you're basically my right-hand man, " " ... after all! " ... but, they know, ... they're running out of time ... they turn back to stare at it and --- True I don't know about " God " either To be truthful, I had too many unanswered questions but, Taichi - san? ( phrased, as if, slightly uncertain ) ( he should say it that way---- ) and, " the other me " whatever you decide for everything you've ever done for the worlds, for the Digimon, for us, Thank you                                                 [ " A r i g a t o u " ] ... it seems ... the connection ... fades out The text still flashes ... they clench their hands clasp their hands ... and ... grin ... smile, at each other, ... then, ... F A C E    F O R W A R D ------------------ " Y E S !!!!! " --- The world --- begins anew. --- continues to turn --- As it always does --- and always --- will Somewhere, S i m u l t a n e o u s l y , they smile ... and clasp their hands ... too C O M P L E T E ? _ N/Y?_ _N the screen ( with his image ) ( the image of ) (  the ones he          l o v e s   ) turns off.
