So based on your assumptions, Taishiro will never be confirmed canon? :( I believe they won't miss the opportunity to hint at a few ships like they did before. Who from the cast do you feel would be the most likely partner for Koushiro?

Well... Deep down inside I want to agree with you and say that they could choose to at least... Hint at something. But as much as I'd wish for them to go all progressive in the year 2023 and confirm their absolute main character and de-facto face of the franchise as not-100%-straight... I really think it's not very realistic, unfortunately. A girl can dream of course, but... Gotta wait and see.

As for Koushirou... I am torn. Not because I think that Taishirou is inherently plausible in itself and would make sense in the grand scheme of things because I totally do think that, but because they KNOW how it is perceived when they go official in ANY direction. Hints and nudging? Oh yeah, they're pretty prone to doing that - but judging by everything we've seen recently, it really seems like they'd be very willing to... De-canonize Tri to at least some degree. Of course that is just a theory, but I still think they'll go very, VERY careful paths here.

Aside from me considering Taichi to be a plausible partner in general due to them being "best friends to literal coworkers", growing as close as they used to, making up for lost time and maybe discovering one thing or another on their way... I think it's no surprise that Mimi appears to be the most likely choice. Again, I'm taking Tri (and "the crush") with a grain of salt there, but Kizuna('s promo art)/To Sora hinted at them being fairly close/communicative too! Although we cannot tell how far it goes at this point in time, who feels what, how much of it is business related, etc., they canonically ARE in touch and thus have the same potential-set-up as Taishirou - and they were depicted next to each other in the infamous epilogue line-up. However - there was not just Mimi...

... Since there is another frame there where he stands very close to Hikari. Not over-analyzing anything here, especially because canon has never shown them to be particularly close on an emotional level - from a set-up level I'd say it WOULD make sense (with her being his best friend's sister, so technically they SHOULD be closer).

But as you can tell, we are already going very far into speculation territory here, since there aren't a lot of characters he is exceptionally (emotionally) close with. Honourable mentions here may go to Takeru and Iori (since the former seems to be very well informed about everything Koushirou is up to these days and the latter always looked up to him), but again, there is not a lot to back this up with.

(Honourable-honourable mention - in a crack-ship kinda way - is Sora to me. Because in a universe in which Taiyama became a thing, I still consider them to be valid contenders to grow significantly closer, but the evidence I have collected for that is very thin and everything beyond that goes into headcanon spaces.)

In another timeline, earlier on, Koushiro encounters an accident... Taichi tries Taichi's best to help - but can Taichi succeed? (What happens when the 02 Chosen have 'Fallen'; and the Chosen's memories have been wiped back to around the beginning of Tri?) {They're all still "friends" - but do they even know fully what's going on?} Can you figure out the 'mysteries' unfolding? This is a re-post (for AO3) of an A.M.V. I made some years back. Taichi Yagami and Koushiro Izumi are heavily featured characters; In this specific A.M.V., Meiko Mochizuki also appears. This series of A.M.V.s is an AU spinning off from various canon points up until the Epilogue. Song featured: "Lost Time Memory", by Jin, from the Kagerou Project series. Heck yeeeeeeah! Sorry this took so long, it took me an inordinately long time to decide on a pose. I think I landed on a pretty typical one for these two, but I’ve never actually drawn it myself before now (shh, don’t tell anyone)!

So you know how Taichi and Koushiro both have kids in the epilogue but neither are seen with a spouse/significant other? What if Kou's daughter and Tai's son conspired to get their dads together cause the two keep visiting for dinners and oh god they are so oblivious to their feelings even as adults it's disgusting (maybe the kids are adopted? Idk)

“He won’t stop telling Aunt Kari how amazing he is, so I’d say yes”

Then they both did these really evil smiles and started hatching a plan

No matter what, they had to make sure Tai didn’t use the Tennessee line

So instead, they always made sure to ask their dads to take them out for ice cream at the same time (COINCIDENCE? of course not)

Of course this means that Tai and Izzy keep bumping into each other and doing whatever it is they do when they’re shy and in love and yet somehow oblivious

Cue Kari walking by and saying to her son “you’re not going to try to do that to me are you?” “no promises Mom”

Eventually Izzy picks up on what’s going on and asks in the secret language he has with his daughter “are you purposely getting me to run into Tai?”

“Duh Dad you need to ask him out”

*keyboard smash* “WHAT”

“Dad look at how happy he is with you just go for it”

Izzy just kinda looks at Tai, who’s smiling in a goofy way, and his heart melts a little bit

Hey mate so I recently started watching the new Digimon anime and while I enjoy it I find the lack of Tai and Sora friendship kinda weird. I remember a lot of cute interactions while here it seems Yamato took over that role lmao. What are your thoughts on it and do you think they're setting them up for the 02 epilogue? I'm surprised they're sticking with them- perhaps trying to fix them ...

Honestly? I don’t think they’ve put an ounce of thought into character relationships in this season.

They stumbled into some cute Taishiro early on and I see where you’re coming from with some of the Sora-Yamato exchanges, but it doesn’t feel like they’re setting up anything.

All of the characters are shallow imitations of their Adventure selves, so the rich interactions that fuel shipping speculation just aren’t happening. They can’t even add anything meaningful to Yamato’s interactions with Takeru! This has consistently been the most frustrating issue with the new series, and it’s getting harder to believe that it will get any better as every opportunity for character depth gets ignored to show off the splashy new Digimon.

Put it this way- if this were an original season and you’d never met these kids before, would you care one iota about them? I wouldn’t, and that makes it very hard for me to see any combination of them in a relationship.

Digimon Adventure Shipping Masterpost - Part 2

Part 1 

Sora x Izzy (Kora)

Pros:They’re both the most level headed of the group and there’s relatively little drama between them. So if you want something sweet and cute that’s stress free, then this could do ya.  There’s also the added bonus of breaking up the Tai/Sora/Matt triangle. 

Cons: They’re also kind of boring. They don’t play off one another in any interesting way. They’re just generally nice to each other and can work together as a team, and that’s about it.  They also rarely interact outside of the group. 

Personal Ranking (5/10) Eh..I can see it working and I don’t mind it as a refreshing break from the drama, but there are more interesting ships out there for them.

Sora x Mimi (Mira)

Pros: These two were the only two girls on the team for a long while, so naturally they spent a lot of time together on screen. They’re best friends, and therefore a lesbian’s dream team of a pairing. They got that opposites attract vibe, they’re relatively drama free, and they’re still other girls on the team that they interact with so it’s not like we’re losing the only female friendship on the show if you ship them.    

Cons: Mimi is largely absent in 02, so we get less interaction between them than other Adventure characters. Also, while there are other female friendships none are quite as close as these two and so you may prefer them as platonic. 

Personal Ranking (6/10) Like with Kora, I can see them working, and I do indeed like Mimi-centric ships a lot, but I kind of prefer them as a friends since for the longest time they were the only female friendship on the show; back when I was first watching.  

Sora x Joe (Joura)

Pros: These two spend a lot of time together in Adventure. There’s lot of one on one interaction for them up episodes for them. They work well as a team, while still being different enough to make for an interesting interactions.  Also if you have the love triangle, Joe and Sora are seen suspiciously close together during the epilogue.  

Cons: Sora is in a canon ship already, if that matters to you. Plus Joe may not be your favorite, as he’s pretty decisive. Then there’s the fact that he and Sora do bump heads more so than Sora does with anyone else. It’s like a tei between Tai and Joe over who can annoy Sora the most in season one. 

Personal Ranking (7/10) This is my second favorite ship for Sora, but that’s probably because I just really like Joe a lot. 

Sora x T.K. (Sokeru)

Pros: This ship is oddly popular in certain sections of the fandom. I’m guessing for the same reasons why Yamakari is liked. Sora is very protective of TK in season one. While their interactions do taper off after that point, they’re still seen hanging out together in 02 and Tri, at times.  

Cons: Once again their interactions are limited to mostly group settingings. They also have the same age gap as all of the 02/Adventure pairings. Given how most of their moments are in season one where that age gap makes the most difference, there’s little to go on post Adventure.  

Personal Ranking (4/10) Yeah, not enough interaction to sell this one for me. 

Sora x Kari (Sokari)

Pros: More femslash options. They’re mostly drama free and are very similar in terms of personality. Also, when placed together they cancel out each other’s respective love triangles. 

Cons: All of the same cons as Sokeru. Also they are very similar personality wise and so their dynamic may bore you. 

Personal Ranking (3/10) Yeah, count me as one who finds them boring. Add in the age gap and lack of interaction and this ship is a no go for me. 

Sora x Davis (Daiora)

Pros: It’s basically Taiora but without the triangle bullshit. Also Davis is very good for unrequited romance pairings. 

Cons: Even less interaction than Sokeru or Sokari. The age gap is still present even though it doesn’t matter as much in 02. 

Personal Ranking (5/10) I do really like Davis, and fanworks have shown that they make a cute pairing. But only as like a one sided crush thing, so their dynamic is limited. 

Sora x Yolei (Soyako)

Pros: Much like with Taisuke and Yamasuke, Sora is in that mentor to friend role for Yolei, but with slightly less of an age gap.  Also more femslash options, which are indeed rarer than the slash ones, just cause there are less girls than boys in this show, sadly. 

Cons: They’re kind of Mimra light as yolie is very similar to Mimi in terms of personality. Also while they get some moments in 02, that ends as soon as we get to other seasons. 

Personal Ranking (4/10) Meh...I’d rather just go with Mimra. 

Sora x Cody (Sori)

Pros:On the one hand they so rarely interact that you can shape their relationship post Tri into being whatever you want it to be. 

Cons: On the other hand they aren't ever seen together outside of the group and it’s only in 02 where their age difference would most matter. 

Personal Ranking (2/10) I guess there’s a certain freedom in being able to take a relationship in any direction you want to without it being pure crack or non-canon. I just don't know why you would want to when there’s so many other options out there. 

Sora x Ken (Kenora)

Pros: Uh... They both wind up in ridiculous careers that aren’t suited to them? They’re both shoved into canon relationships without proper build up for them? Wanna cause drama for drama sake with a cheating route? 

Cons: Are these two even friends? Out of all of the 02 and Adventure characters these two probably get the least amount of interaction. At best I’d call them acquaintances who just so happen to have mutual friends. 

Personal Ranking (3/10) All the same cons as all the other 02/Adventure ships but taken to the max. I only rank it higher Sori because there’s a slightly less age gap. 

Sora x Jun (Junora)

Pros: With these two you can pull a Korra/Asami and cut Matt off at the knees. If you’re pissed at how 02 handled relationships this can be cathartic.    It’s also a femslash option that winds up being very different in dynamics from the other yuri pairings in the show. 

Cons: Jun knows of Sora’s existence, and they’ve shared scenes together. Yet they’ve never talked to one another, and I’m not sure if Sora even knows who she is.  Then there’s the fact that Jun is very decisive in fandom. 

Personal Ranking (7/10) I really like Jun. I also like the potential dynamic that her and Sora can have. I also like getting back at Matt after the way he treated Jun. So this ship is a win/win for me. 

Sora x Meiko (Meiora)

Pros: Lots of interactions and shippy moments to work off of.  It’s the ‘moe’ dynamic but made gay. Triangle drama free or increased triangle drama, take your pick.  

Cons: Just like with Meichi and Meimato, how much you like this ship will depend on how much you like Meiko as a character. If you thought her annoying in Tri, you’ll no doubt be annoyed by this. 

Personal Ranking (6/10) This is like Sokari but made good? Kari as she gets older becomes more Sora like and Sora as she gets older becomes more Kari like. But Mei remains the woobie/soft girl through out, so you get the protectiveness and lesbian interaction minus the awkward age gap. 

Izzy x Mimi (Mishirou)

Pros: It’s ‘beauty and the geek’ but with an added twist. There’s some of those awkward crush moments in Tri if you like that, but mostly Izzy is very confident and assertive, just like Mimi. They tend to call out each other’s bullshit the most often. Also Mini is perhaps the second character Izzy hangs out with one on one the most besides Tai. 

Cons: The crush in Tri comes out of almost nowhere and feels like pandering. Izzy never seemed to care for Mimi in that way before and indeed was annoyed with her more often than not. Then somewhere in the middle of Tri the crush was just completely dropped altogether without any resolvement one way or the other. 

Personal Ranking (6/10) I’ve warmed up to it somewhat since Tri. There is a basis there, but it does feel very forced at times, and I don't get the overwhelming love for it. It’s merely ok at best. 

Izzy x Joe (Jyoushirou)

Pros: Geek meets Nerd!  That’s about it. If you really like these two characters then they work just about as well as any other ship in the show. There’s also the comedic elements to their interactions together to play off of.   It also nips the Izzy/Mimi/Joe triangle in the bud. 

Cons: They have more moments together than Sora and Izzy, but not more than say Joe and Matt. It’s brief comedic moments when we get them together and not many serious or deep interactions. 

Personal Ranking (5/10) Eh..There’s a foundation there to build something off of, but for whatever reason it just doesn’t gel for me.  

Izzy x T.K. (Takshirou) 

Pros: They’re closer in age then some of the other 02/Adventure characters, and they do interact often in all three seasons. 

Cons: Still most of those interactions are either plot related or group scenes. There’s not a whole lot to go off of. 

Personal Ranking (4/10) I don't get why someone would ship these two, yet I wouldn’t be outright opposed to it if they did. 

Izzy x Kari (Kokari) 

Pros: Same pros as Takshirou

Cons: Same cons as Takshirou

Izzy x Davis (Daishiro) 

Pros: I guess if you like the Taishiro dynamic, but not enough to break Tai up with one of his more popular ships then this could be an option.  

Cons: It’s Taishiro lite with all the added problems that comes from shiping the 02/Adventure cast. 

Personal Ranking (4/10) For the same reasons stated as for Takshirou and Kokari.

Izzy x Yolei (Koyako) 

Pros: Of all the 02/Adventures ships this has the smallest age gap. The age difference between her and Izzy is the same a Izzy the rest of the adventure gang. As such they spend a lot of time together.  They also have a similar dynamic to Mishirou, but with the added dimension of Yolei being a nerd as well. She can keep up with Izzy’s technobabble and often assists him in his projects. 

Cons: Izzy does have a reduced role in 02 like the rest of the adventure gang, though not quite as bad as some. Meanwhile Yolei only appears in 02 except for like a cameo here and there. So while they do interact one on one on occasion it’s not a whole lot.   

Personal Ranking (7/10) To me this has all the pros of Mishirou, but none of the cons. They’re both assertive and capable of calling out each other’s bs, but they also have a deeper understanding of one another can more in common to build off of.   

Izzy x Cody (Kori) 

Pros: It’s the mentor/friend dynamic again. They have a lot in common and are seen hanging out together a lot.  

Cons: Same age difference as with the other mentor ships and like with Koyako they’re scenes are limited to only 02.  

Personal Rankings (3/10) It’s got more of a basis then the other Cody ships thus far, but that’s not saying much. 

Izzy x Ken (Kenshirou) 

Pros: Uh.. It’s assertive nerd boy meets shy nerd boy, I guess? There’s also the whole former villain thing for some added angst if you want. 

Cons: Not a whole lot of one on one interact and when we do get it it’s mostly plot exposition 

Personal Ranking (4/10) I put this on the same level as Takshirou, Kokari, and Daishiro

Izzy x Jun (Junshirou) 

Pros: It breaks all of the triangles involving both of them. They’re both fun characters. Pair the spares.  They both went on that camping trip once.  Comedy.

Cons: This ship is as close as crack as you can get without being full on crack. They’ve met, they know of each other’s existence, and they’ve been in the same scene together more than once. But they’ve never actually talked with one another on screen before. 

Personal Ranking (7/10) I just like Jun. I don’t care who you pair her with, it’s entertaining because she’s enterianing.  

Izzy x Meiko (Meishirou) 

Pros: I guess if you like both characters then you’ll like this ship just fine. Can double as a pair the spares in order to resolve the Izzy/Mimi/Joe tringle. 

Cons: Mei has less interaction with Izzy than some of the rest of the group. Also it’s dependent upon how much you like Mei as a character. 

Personal Ranking (5/10) It’s not bad, but give me Junshirou, Koyako, or Taishirou over it any day of the week.

Of course!! Vaguely canon compliant if you ignore Kizuna and Tri as I have not seen them yet haha:

Taichi once got banned from Neopets because he sent Koushirou a direct message saying, “I lost my number, could I have yours instead?” 

Their first official date is the international soccer match from the 2015 Otomedia interview; thank Toei!! 

Koushirou hadn’t originally intended for it to sound like he was asking Taichi out, but hey, he said yes, so¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If we’re going off the canon from the epilogue in Season 2, I like to think that at least one of their kids, maybe their daughter, is adopted despite the whole thing with their kids looking like carbon copies. They tell her very young, and remain very honest and open about everything, including that they love her just as much as her brother, and that family is not simply a matter of blood. 

They do stuff like this to embarrass the kids when they have company over

Taichi is the type to come up behind Koushirou a lot when he’s cooking or doing the dishes and hug him from behind (stares at digimon 2020....), just generally fairly affectionate.

 Overall Taichi does most of the cooking, though! Mimi taught them when she first learned of their take out bill.

Koushirou loves it when Taichi calls him, “Babe,” but he’ll absolutely never admit it. Taichi is absolutely aware.

Generally Koushirou will sit on the couch while Taichi watches television before bed and sometimes he ends up getting absorbed into the show and abandoning his laptop to snuggle

Koushirou is pretty good at solving a show’s mystery if there’s enough clues and build up in the show

Taichi usually solves the really outlandish plots. Sometimes he calls them really early in the show and is flabbergasted when he’s correct.

They actually compete to solve mystery stories before the other and have a running tally on a whiteboard they keep by the couch.

Honestly they’re that beautiful balance between lovers and best friends, with implicit trust in each other, and while it takes them years to learn the best ways to communicate and grow, it’s a journey they take on together

Alriiiiiight, I know I'm super predictable here, huh? 002 | Taishirou

When I started shipping them: I actually don't remember when exactly it started, but they haven't been my first Digimon ship, that's for sure. I think I maaaay have started shipping them in my later teens, upon watching the OG 01 in Japanese for the first time and couldn't unsee it anymore, though I obviously hadn't been as invested in them at the time.

My thoughts: Oooof, where do I even begin, I mean, I have probably written at least twenty meta posts about them so far, since I simply cannot shut up about how much I adore this dynamic.They go so much further than the tropes they're initially based on make you believe - it's not just brawns/brains, introverted extrovert/extroverted introvert, best friends to lovers and so on... It's also the unconditional trust and support, the way they complement and (potentially) get the best out of each other, thinking so incredibly highly of each other (without being fully able to convey that properly, which leads to a lot of frustration on my behalf, but more on that later down the line). Heck, there might even be some kind of starcrossed theme going on between them even without taking reincarnation theory into account. You just... Have the one who probably would never have gotten out of his shell as easily as he eventually did without the other, supporting him in every way he can... And the other one who actually manages to let his guard down towards him once trauma hits. They just make me go soft and I wouldn't want it any other way.

What makes me happy about them: Lots of things, actually, but mainly the complementing aspect I mentioned above, turning them into partners in crime. Plus, all the times they invade each other's personal space without even noticing or caring. The way they can affect each other in ways others can't do - even if it sometimes takes a loooot of fanfiction to elaborate on that.

What makes me sad about them: Apart from the fact that they're both nuts? That they actually don't realize how good they are for each other. And that opening up towards each other more would do both of them good. It's an ongoing theme, Koushirou basically begs Taichi to be honest with and rely on him - and you can bet, the boy would get a lot of weight off his shoulders if he finally opened up towards Taichi himself. It's frustrating. Especially when you take the subtext of them growing somewhat apart in certain parts of the series, when there are other parts that basically make them look married... Like, you know Koushirou would go to hell and back for Taichi and Taichi, on the flipside, would always sacrifice himself in order not to let the people most precious to him get hurt. So... Please talk to each other for once.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: The cheating AND the toxic/misogynist seme/uke portrayal. Yes, Koushirou is shorter and more slender than Taichi, yes, I have written entire meta posts about him having a lot of traits that may make him more effeminate at times and I enjoy seeing him turn into a blushing, stuttering mess as much as everyone else, but he's not a helpless, passive wallflower.

Things I look for in fanfic: All the cheese. All the pining. Give me a hundred chapters of them being too stupid to realize their feelings - or actually knowing about them but being too stupid to act on them. I need my happy ends though. Give me all the mutual healing. Them actually TALKING to each other. All the softness, please. Show me how they’d die for each other in all the different timelines.

My wishlist: 1.) An Our War Game sequel with them as adults, actually portraying them as still being friends/becoming close friends again (bonus points for Koushirou talking about his adoption to Taichi) 2.) Similarly to 1, a sequel post epilogue that shows them working together, because, dude their careers are 100% compatible, come on. I don't need confirmation on them being together/married/whatever, I just want to see them maintaining their bond. 3.) A reboot sequel in which they continue being partners in crime like they're supposed to be.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Oh, that's easy, my favourite second choice for Taichi will always be Sora, and my second favourite choice for Koushirou will always be Hikari. Team Light until the very end. I'll also always root for a poly Taikoura relationship, but shhh.

My happily ever after for them: If I was able to spin the wishlist further, I'd love to see them working together to ensure a symbiosis between the real and the Digital World, while also living and raising their two kids together. Domestic bliss after they've managed to talk to each other and work on their traumas together. Domestic bliss, man.

003 | Koushirou Izumi

How I feel about this character: Again, where do I even begin without writing the 7362728th novel about why I love and adore this boy so much? He has been my first favourite Digimon character ever when I was 9 years old - and now, more than twenty years later, I find myself coming back to him becoming my current comfort character. I love and adore how layered he is; people are quick to just call him a "nerd" and "infodump boy", but he is so much more than that, being a hands-on problem and riddle solver that would go to hell and back for the people he cares about, despite getting lost in the things he researches about to the point of neglecting his own needs while trying not to think about the trauma that has haunted him for years, not having known who he is, where he comes from, unsure how to approach and understand others and himself... But eventually, he is a very kind, very emotional kid who loves his family, partner and friends, who enjoys to teach and ramble, supporting wherever, however and whenever he can, a mentor and connecter. He has his issues and problems, but he's always trying his best. Yes, I may project onto him a lot at times, but that also shows me what a great job the writers did in making him human.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: As mentioned above, Taichi will always be the one for him in my eyes, the absolute Digimon OTP. Second choice, as implied, is Hikari, hands down. (Honorary mention goes to Sora - I have grown very fond of platonic!Koura, but romantic!Koura has become quite exciting to me as well - and, drum roll, Menoa. I could definitely see this becoming a thing and I'm weirdly intrigued by it, even if I rather enjoy than actually ship it.)

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: All of Team Light is absolutely delightful on a platonic level, so Taichi (best friends for life, work partners in crime), Sora (fashion buddy) and Hikari (research/photography buddy) being his closest friends will always be wonderful to me - even if canon makes it hard to maintain that sometimes. And while it really feels like he will become more of a background supporter, mainly talking to the majority of the cast through electronic devices, I actually enjoy all (potential) bonds he has with the other characters; Platonic!Koumi for example is absolutely amazing in my eyes (internet buddies), him and Yamato have actually been implied to have grown rather close in Kizuna (and the PSP game also hints at them being very compatible). Jyou and Takeru tried very hard to get through to him in Tri, so that makes me believe that they're having quite the connection as well. Him and Miyako hacking the entire world is always a fun concept, Iori will still see him as a great mentor and I reeeeally wish we would have seen more of him and Ken being amazing geniuses together.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't like the extreme nerd/geek stereotype people assign to him - he obviously can be one, but people writing him to be absolutely incapable of social interaction while being a horny idiot might be something I have to blame Tri for. And I absolutely dislike the tendency in fandom to give him the shortest end of the stick in friend/ship groups. Not sure if that's an unpopular opinion though?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wanted to see him talk to anybody about his adoption that wasn't Tentomon. Tri absolutely tried to make the others get through to him, but he literally didn't let them. It was his goal to get closer to others, become less formal at the end of 01 - and 02 did a great job at portraying him as mentor and teacher to others. But in the end, Tentomon has always been the only one who sees him breaking down. So in case the Kizuna scenario will happen to him as well one day - who's gonna catch him then? I absolutely don't want that for him, but heck, let him cry in front of his friends once, please.

Favorite friendship for this character: Still Taichi, but all of what I've written above about the other Chosen Children applies!

My crossover ship: I actually can't think of one right now, even though I'm pretty sure once you mention one or another character from another fandom, I might go "Ooooh, that could be interesting!"

19.)  OTPs

My fave digimon ship is Daiken!  Next is Sorato.  Third tier is Jyoumi, then Takari.

I sort of ship Taishiro?  Like, I love love love Taishiro fanart and the concept, but I’ve never quuuuuite seen it written in a way that made sense to me.  I’m stupid picky about how Koushiro is written, though, unless the story is clearly comedic/silly.

I am open to canon x OC ships for any series, mostly because I think it’s unrealistic that a group of 12 people (or how ever many main characters there are) would all pair off together.  Like, it’s a big world, and most of these kids end up doing big things, which would expose them to lots of potential partners.  I realize this isn’t a very popular stance, though?  Obviously the OC has to be a fully-fleshed character who can bring something new to the table, though.

20.)  Favorite friendships/bonds between humans

Ahhh geez, here’s where I get a little unusual and say that I really don’t see much difference between romantic and platonic?  Like, I think platonic and romantic are equally important in a person’s life.  And “we kiss/are physically intimate” isn’t... a big deal to me.

So, all of the above from the OTPs, except add Yamato and Takeru.  I also in general love to see the female characters interact together and support one another, but you could put that under either category, too.

21.)  Favorite friendship/bond between digimon

You know, we don’t see this as much as the humans?  The digimon tend to interact most with their human.  I’d say Agumon and Gabumon are shown to be close- they have some really nice conversations in the Kizuna novel.  Also, Gomamon and Tentomon had some really nice heart-to-hearts/supporting each other in Tri?!?!?!  Like, that was unexpected, and deeply appreciated.

Also, I love the concept that Wormmon really wants to play with the other partner digimon right around after Ken rejected the Kaiser, but was having trouble coming to join the group.

Slightly off topic, but I’m also absolutely freaking living for Piyomon scolding Yamato?!  ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE A MOVE ON SORA?!  HOW DARE YOU!  YOU AREN’T HIGH LEVEL ENOUGH!!!  GO TRAIN AND COME BACK!

Oh!  Jyou!  Jyou and everyone, honestly!  He tends to bow out of social situations.  I have all these ideas about how he would relate to everyone when they get older, and I WANT MORE JYOU.

Also just, please just give Hikari more material, especially with people who are not Taichi or Takeru.  But first, just show me more of Hikari herself.  She deserves so much more content.
