how to watch Skyblock Kingdoms!
because i'm dragging all of you down with me.
what is Skyblock Kingdoms?:
Skyblock Kingdoms, or SBK, is a Skyblock survival server made by VikingPilot where 18 20 players are split into groups of 2 and have their own island to take care of. each island has a unique wood type, and have a monopoly over that wood type! trade between kingdoms is allowed and encouraged, but any saplings belong solely to their original island-- with the exception of oak, which is a freebie anyone can have.
the teams are theoretically a mix of seasoned skyblockers and people not as familiar with it, but in practice there's more novices than experts so comedy has quickly ensued.
what's the story?:
in most cases, SBK is more of a casual improv vibe. think Hermitcraft rather than Empires. what this means is that there's no overarching story everyone is following, but some players have bits they've decided to commit to that, in typical MCYT fashion, are spiraling. some perspectives stay away from the action, some are playing along with whatever bit is tossed their way, some have their stories to tell, and Avid is the reason i'm having to rewrite this paragraph.
we've got capitalists! we've got OSHA! we've got witches feeding the void to try and appease it so it stops eating their bridges! we've got signs of the timeline falling apart! we've got a fortune-telling wizard! we've got something trapped deep down in limbo! we've got somebody cursed to be a monkey by british sun tzu! we've got selling your soul for a weekly lootbox! we've got a kingdom being overtaken by snow and sculk! we've got an airline with a 75% mortality rate! we've got a lawyer?
as of this version of the post (Avid's episode 17, Marma1ade's episode 15, Viking's episode 13, Vintage's episode 13), the first major story arc has wrapped up and things are going in a very interesting direction.
what's the format?:
there are edited videos being released regularly on Youtube by most of the creators, but a couple of POVs are stream-only so far. however, you can easily keep up with the server shenanigans without watching any streams-- there's some stuff that doesn't make it into videos, but not anything that would leave you locked out of the loop.
you can find all of the episodes out so far in release order in this one massive playlist by Doovid! thank you Doovid <3
on top of videos and streams, SBK has songs written and performed by Avid for his episodes! please listen to Through the Void, it's really good. there's also an animation for it that's used as his intro, which is also really good. if you want to listen to cool tunes made for SBK by one of the creators, you should watch Avid.
who to watch?:
depends on what you're looking for!
if you want a focus on building, then Fixxitt and KingElffe are both working on large-scale projects that are downright stunning to see in Skyblock. if you're interested in the Void storyline, then your best bets are Avid, Marmalade, and Trog-- and if you want lore in general, you can add Rubyco, Vintage, Milkman, and Anathra (and potentially Viking) to the list. if you want something chill, then Doovid, M1G, Kale, Anathra, and Leon are pretty laid-back. if you enjoy cinematic editing, then you should check out Avid, Trog, Doovid, Leon, and Viking. if you're here for comedy, then you'll want to check out Viking, Doovid, Milkman, Leon, CodeNeon, and Kittrix, but honestly everybody gets in on that one as they mess with each other constantly. and that's still not covering everybody!
i recommend watching everyone's episode 1 to get a feel for their style and go from there. Anathra, Artemis, Neon, and Leon's perspectives start around the Ender Dragon fight, and Fool and Tea are stream-only.
who's on the server?:
as mentioned, some of these POVs are stream-only!
Dark Oak (VikingPilot + Fixxitt 412) - industry on a massive scale Cherry (Rubyco + vintage_applesauce) - friends with everyone Jungle (AvidMC + Doovid) - the universe has it out for them. Birch (TheFoolsFam + SadMilkman) - the villain is always capitalism Bamboo (M1G + KaleHameron) - space samurai shenanigans Mangrove (Marma1ade + Teaish7) - witches with a void problem Acacia (Dr. Trog + Kittrix) - triangle-loving chaos-causers Spruce (AcornBandit + Anathra) - very chill (both definitions.) End (CodeNeon + LeonSBU) - have been here the whole time! Mushroom (KingElffe + Artemis8bit) -
tl;dr Watch Skyblock Kingdoms.

Comprehensive breakdown of MURDER DRONES - Episode 7: Mass Destruction
I saw a breakdown of this episode on youtube and it was just clearly rushed so I want to do this episode justice so here's my comprehensive breakdown.
New intro, look at them! They look so happy, that is not the case in the episode, to say the least. With how much rubber hosing this animation has I would not be surprised if this was done by Kevin Temmer Tunes with what he learned from amazing digital circus Edit: N was animated by Micah Preciado and Uzi by Zachary Preciado
Bad day to accidentally grab the wrong uniform, I do wonder where the actual Dr.Chambers was in all this. Wonder if it would have made a difference... probably not.
Not actually important but having the shadows of the claws that aren't actually there be the thing to interact with the world is fucking cool as hell. This whole scene is a cool twist on an exorcism with robots and science.
Like look at this, it's a pentagram magnet, a normal pentagram from my basic pop culture understanding it's meant to not only summon a demon but also keep them from leaving the circle. A strong magnet is so smart for this case as it's used to keep Nori in place, I mean it doesn't end up working in the end but it's the thought that counts.
It took my second watch of this episode to realize why the lights got turned on, it revealed the tentacles and claws but it's sun light, the same stuff that burns the Disassembly Drones and Uzi. It even has the same effect as in the end of Episode 4
Can I just say how extra it is making the USB a crucifix, I love it. Also I just notice that on the end of the crucifix the detailing is actually in the shape of a USB symbol, the details in this show is amazing, you can see all the love that went in to it.
This is probably the most terrifying way to hold these robots. I couldn't blame any of the robots for wanting to kill the human good god. Also Yeva playing Tetris, the game has a lot of ties to Russia so wonder if she spoke Russian too, she doesn't speak in this episode and not sure if we'll get more flashback with her so not sure if we will ever find out.
Not sure why Mitchell stop Yeva from entering the church but I like to think he thought Yeva was like a kid, look at him holding her hand in the scene before, and was trying to keep her save and knew something was off. That being said I'd love to hear what you think is his reasoning, sound off in the comments/reblogs.
Pulling back we can see Nori, specifically her core, looking at a crucifix comparing it to the USB crucifix in the video to see if it's the one with the patch, it's not, so she goes out for the hunt to see if she can find it.
Like daughter, like mother, honestly cool little details that lets us know what kind of character Nori is with the very little time we have with her. Drawing made presumably by her of herself as a human cat girl, twice, motor oil cans everywhere, a fricking ninja star, nightcore music, a anime statue that might be a reference to something but I have no clue, also magnets which have been used in the passed like drugs so that's um... something.
was originally just going to point out the funny little animation errors in this scene, as the paper goes through the Ipod and the crinkled paper is mirrored but then I wanted to check what was on the paper and...
It's a missing poster of all things? it uses the exact posters used in episode 3 it's probably just reusing assets but I thought it was a cool thing to point out.
Uzi bleeds blood in these scenes and it's not necessarily mentioned out loud, clearly something AS related, but there might be more to it, or it just looks cool.
This man is in some serious denial, but credit where credit is due, when "Tessa" tells N to stop he turns around, and when Uzi apologized for not being able to help he immediately apologized for Snapping at her. Also look at Tessa's little pointing, thought it was funny.
N: "We're not going to hurt you."
I can't blame Uzi for taking this the wrong way, he's clearly telling Tessa off but all Uzi hears is "hurt you", hence why she only parrots that part.
Thad: "Aaand you won't tell me why we're wandering around 'cause...?" Lizzy: "I'm a good friend, and secrets are blackmail. And it's not about football." Thad: "Okay. Does your secret friend want to know about football, or...?"
Anyone else wondering who Lizzy's good friend is? The only 2 characters we know are good friends with Lizzy are Doll and V. It's possible that through everything Doll sent a text to Lizzy asking her to do something but I feel like V just makes more sense. This does assume V made her way away from the sentinels, if I had to guess she's just a core at the moment which might be why she couldn't do it herself, no wings nor weapons as a core, also makes the blackmail line make more sense.
N: "I deserve this. I deserve this. I deserve this."
Baby girl NO! no you don't, your too hard on your self
That scream. That cut. *chef's kiss* perfect.
This scene just shows us why Uzi went towards the church. Also note when she's the most stressed her eye turns yellow so it does seem stress is the deciding factor whether she can be possessed.
V/AS: You know, you're one of the main reasons... [voice glitching] ...I wanted your team to retain your personalities.
This quote I think has some interesting implications, I mean it obviously confirms that the DD squad was influence by AS but it might also be why it keeps a bit of the personality of which ever host it's using.
This scene holy shit, the music, the lighting, the sound design and animation, that's how you do horror! You don't even need detailed gore, in fact most of it is just off screen. like look at the DD's off in the distance one catches the pilot of the helicopter mid air then they fight over it like hungry animals.
Ok so I hit the image limit and it's almost 1 in the morning so I'm gonna go to bed and continue this tomorrow
~to be continued~

Song descriptions
Bubble: simple and bubbly music. Pop-sound-effect.mp3.
Caine tutorial: also pretty simple. Takes from the end credit theme, it’s more jazzy and fun.
Pomni: she’s still new to the circus, so her music is kinda awkward and stutters. It draws most of its instruments from the digital circus theme itself. In an unlockable second battle she’s a little more confident. Still heavily playing into the circus theme, but a few more original instruments.
Ragatha: she’s got a cheery little tune with a more sharp and foreboding undertone. Some vague glitchy notes that are similar to the abstraction music. Kind of inspired by raggedy Ann music. Possible second battle after a Jax side quest that’s more harsh and a little angry.
Gangle: girlie pop has an anime intro/outro depending on if she’s in her comedy or tragedy mode. I don’t make the rules. That’s it. Comedy is major cords and faster, more upbeat. Tragedy is more bass toned with minor notes and is slower.
Kinger: odd rhythm that doesn’t really sound complete. It seems like some of the notes are missing. But he has some moments of “clarity” that soar upward before they crash down in little weird sounds and fizzle away.
Zooble: fairly basic background notes but different parts add different layers to the music, and new attacks. More punchy and punk with bass and drums.
Jax: chaotic, but has an electro swing twist reminiscent of old cartoons like Oswald and Felix the cat. Eventually could be coded to be binaural, literally running circles around you.
Caine: it would start with his tutorial music, slowly fading into the basic lines of “your new home” or the theme before kicking up into a chaotic whirlwind.
Secret 1: it’s corrupted and glitching. Repeating notes in weird ways. For some reason it kind of sounds like it also taking from the theme song.
Secret 2: it won’t stop laughing at you. It’s chaotic and wild and glitching. It’s creepy and weird and no one likes it.
Secret 3: it sounds vaguely familiar, but it’s missing something. It’s glitching and sad. It didn’t want to be here.
Secret X: upbeat and bubbly, with a more choir-like undertone.

Ranking 500+ Theme Tunes - #22: Freakazoid!
You're a freakzoid! No, it's not a cartoon bully insult, it's a cartoon show! This follows wacky superhero oddjob Freakazoid, the alter ego of Dexter Douglas formed when he unlocks a secret key on his computer... or rather his cat does when he gets on the keyboard. Armed with access to all the knowledge of the internet, classic superhero strength and speed, plus seemingly some sort of Deadpool-esque fourth wall breaking. You are still a freakazoid though.
One look at this show and you can see a clear involvement of Batman: The Animated Series' Bruce Timm. One look at the writing and you can see a clear involvement of the same Warner Bros. and Spielberg team that created the likes of Animaniacs. Naturally, this is a pretty cool combination. The show heavily leans into the comedic, despite having the superhero basis to draw from. Whilst fighting bad guys and balancing the life of superhero, Freakazoid is still sure to throw in an array of meta and pop-culture references along the way.
Now I can't say that I had really heard of this show before looking into things more. This one is quite a cult classic it turns out, not performing as hoped when it originally aired but garnering a lot of love with reruns and word-of-mouth. It was first shown as part of Warner Bros. lineup, but much of its love is associated with its later run on channels like Cartoon Network. I definitely find myself enticed to watch this one from everything I've seen, as its a fun-looking show! But does the theme stack up?
Freakzoid Theme Song
A great fit of a theme song! This one is goofy, self-referential, and funny, which is a brilliant fit for the show in question. I love the off-the-wall and quick-paced catchiness of this tune. Lots of unexpected silly lines make this one extremely enjoyable, not to dismiss the great vocal performances that bring this one together. It's a theme that I often find stuck in my head and making me giggle from that alone, which is exactly what you want to hear from a comedic theme song. I don't know that it's truly transcendent, but I thoroughly enjoy hearing this one.
Being a great fit for its show, a fun and silly song, and a wonderful performance puts this one right towards the top of our tier list. This one is gonna sit extremely comfortably in A!
Stay tuned for more and be sure to send in any suggestions for other shows you'd like to see done (after the 500 already in the pipeline that is). Check out the intro to this series here, and check out the tier list.

idc about what chaos inevitably stirs in the fandom when the anime is out but i just hope it doesnt suck... im merely disappointed at the fact that its likely to be another dmc alternate universe situation, but the characters are more like the canonical versions this time.
theres so much they can do for the main series but it gets ignored every other release for them to hand it off to someone else to fk around with. alleged multiple seasons planned? i just cant help but to feel this is just cash grab crap like peak of combat. castlevania was good but i tuned out after the second season. that game didnt have the character development in the first place like dmc does and i think thats why it works for castlevania. im not sure how this concept is going to work for established story and characters. youll always have unhappy fans but i cant believe after the disaster that was the reboot theyd green light a project with a similar premise. but im making assumptions here. it could be more of a reimagining of the novel/manga content that respects the original works.
i hope come april i get to eat my words with a side of dmc. i want this to be good! the original anime has such a special place in my heart and was a great intro for new fans. I just get a bad vibe from this trailer but this can change. once bitten, twice shy i guess.

Intro/beginners guide to paganism
This is a brief guide based on my personal experiences and research.
What is Paganism?
Now this is a big question with limited evidence but lets go through what we know and how people practice today. A lot of our sources for old religions were written by christians or romans where they could have skewed the original meanings for their own agendas. Christianity played a large role in the loss of these beliefs by ways of genocide, missionaries, renaming holidays and more. My ancestry being European i research more into Celtic, germanic, norse and Anglo-Saxon beliefs but everyone has roots and if traced back far enough we find similar beliefs across the globe. There are also a lot of neopagan religions and beliefs like Wicca and witchcraft with many subcategories.
Paganism for me is about a deeper connection to nature, myself, the spirits of the land and honouring those who’ve come before. Its being grateful for what we have, spending time with our family and friends, being kind and respectful of our surroundings and those within whether thats people, animals or plants. It gives me a bigger perspective, helping to see through hardships and take lessons from them rather than begging the gods for forgiveness or salvation. Even just walking through the bush i get a sense of how small i am in the world, we are all just small cogs in the wheel of time, passing on our lessons and stories through the generations. Norse paganism tends to have more stories than others so i tend to find myself drawn to them for guidance and symbolism. Everything around us has a spirit or a soul all the way from the sky, rain, and thunder to the grass, rocks and dirt beneath our feet, there is spiritual energy everywhere. When it comes to the afterlife i don’t really think about it much but it could be reincarnation, a realm for the dead although nothing like heaven and hell, just a resting place or even something else entirely. Living in the present is more important to me.
So how can you practice paganism?
Seasonal changes are important in paganism as well as the equinoxes and solstices.
Following the natural cycle and staying in tune with it is a simple way to get closer to nature, our ancestors and the spiritual realm. For me i also flip the holidays to suit my climate as i live in Australia so the seasons are inverted.
Many people have altars or sacred spaces in their homes but i also encourage people to go outside and create a space if they can. Whether its just a rock were you place meat or bread offerings or a tree or lake you visit you don’t need much to practice paganism.
If you cant do that thats okay too, light a candle and make an altar out of items you have found and felt a connection to.
Create an inviting, cozy atmosphere and keep it clean and cleansed to avoid unwanted spirits and energies. For holidays you could have a feast and drink beer and wine with friends and family around a fire for instance. Throughout the year theres lots of small ways to feel some magic like following the phases of the moon, cleaning, making things with intention, mindful walks, having a garden or house plants, meditation or working with charms for some examples.
There is no one way to practice and no one can be right, it is all interpretation and feeling.
You can follow a set of gods, pick and choose or none at all. You can perform rituals, spells or divination or not it is not a practice with rules unlike other big religions. Even just the term pagan or animism may be enough for you.
Whether it’s something more modern, a reconstruction or neither, you don’t have to choose a particular path or label just do what feels right to you.
Overall I believe paganism is a way of life, an open way of thinking rooted in nature, gratitude and respect.

Intro Post!!!!
Welcome to The Cave :D
My name is Batzy! I go by she/her, and I'm an aspiring artist and writer who creates fan art. I also have multiple original series that I'm working on right now. (I will eventually create side blogs for those works, so if you are interested, stay tuned!)
This blog is mainly just a gallery for my silly art and crazed ramblings, + goofy plushie posts. All the art I post is created by and for ME! I have multiple art styles that range from cutesy to eldritch horror and semi-realistic to cartoony.
I also collect and reblog cool stuff I like from my fandoms and interests. Here's some stuff I like:
Indie Animation (Especially Murder Drones, TADC, Ramshackle, Lackadaisy, Spooky Month, Monkey Wrench, etc)
Graphic Novels and Comic Books
Fantasy and Sci-Fi
Horror, Thriller, and Mystery Films
Musicals (I'm a theater kid, unfortunately)
Alternative Fashion and Niche Aesthetics
Fashion Dolls
Hyper Femme Kids Media
Kandi Jewelry
Any creative, hands on project tbh
Plushie collections
yapping about any of these topics for extended periods of time
I'm mainly on here just to have fun and make friends, but I do have a few ground rules and policies for interacting with my blog:
We are cringe and we are free
HOWEVER, I will NOT condone any NSFW, bullying/harassment, hate, spamming, proshipping, incest, or any other degenerate behavior, as I am extremely uncomfortable with all of those things. You will be BLOCKED and REPORTED if I you bring any of that bullshit here.
Reblog, don't repost. I put a lot of effort into the things I make and I don't appreciate art thieves, tracers, or NFTs.
If you stumble across something on here that you don't like, please just click off. No hard feelings :)
Feel free to request doodles in the ask box!! I love getting asks and as long as it's not unreasonable or inappropriate I will probably draw it.
If I don't respond to something you ask/tag me in right away please don't take it personally. I'm not mad at you, I'm just busy and/or tired 98% of the time.
Thank you for visiting, and enjoy your day! :D

Mary Halvorson — Cloudward (Nonesuch)
youtube
Guitarist Mary Halvorson has played with a number of artists, but for her past three albums she has worked with a band dubbed Amaryllis: Halvorson, Patricia Brennan (vibraphone), Nick Dunston (bass), Tomas Fujiwara (drums), Jacob Garchik (trombone), and Adam O’Farrill (trumpet). Over the course of their relatively brief tenure, they have cohered into a formidable ensemble, energetically collaborating with stalwart commitment to Halvorson’s compositions. There are eight of these on Cloudward, polystylistic vehicles for Amaryllis’ soloing.
Cloudward opens with “The Gate,” in which a brief theme in parallel voicings is supplanted by a series of solo turns, including incendiary ones from the brass. Brennan’s vibes continue the changes underneath, and the entire group reconvenes for a brief, smoldering coma. Halvorson plays a modal, looped intro to “The Tower,” which speeds up and then disappears. Next an undulating tune played by Brennan and underscored by Halvorson hovers diaphanously. After a time, terse brass interjections and a spider-web patterned bassline join. The texture is full yet never overly thickened. A vibes solo adds filigrees to the mix, soon augmented by Halvorson, moving from rhythm guitar to bending notes and unleashing terse imitations of the brass interjections. The brass players themselves begin to animate the proceedings with greater intensity in their repeated lines and with bends of their own. Suddenly, this ceases, the opening music returns, accompanied by oscillating brass duos. The tune closes in an echo of the intro with slow repeated notes in the guitar. A standout on the recording.
“Incarnadine” moves Amaryllis closer to free playing, with swooping guitar, trilling brass, pedaled vibraphone playing shimmering arpeggios, off-kilter drums, and angular arco bass. It is the rhythm section that takes its spotlight moment here, and the difference in playing approach is pleasantly surprising. Fujiwara also plays a rollicking intro to “Tailhead.” His polyrhythmic groove sets up two-against three lines and a syncopated tune in the brass. Garchik unleashes one of his best solos, eventually dueting with Halvorson while Brennan plays the original tune underneath. The intricacy of the structure of Halvorson’s music is particularly emphasized on “Tailhead.”
Halvorson is a generous collaborator, and most of the performances on Cloudward feel like a collaborative effort rather than a showcase for the leader. But on “Desiderata,” she lets it rip, playing a ranging, eventually looping, guitar solo that begins with a clean tone and secundal oscillations but climaxes with distortion and raucous glissandos. From free jazz to contemporary modern ensemble music, Halvorson has made thoughtful arrangements for Amaryllis. It’s great to hear her rock out too, playing with an abandon that has been simmering all along.

Rubber Soul (1965)
I've been looking forward to this one! It's arguably the point where the band shifts from Consistently Good to Consistently GREAT, and also where some point to as being their apex. While that may seem premature, given what will soon follow, there may be truth in these takes, and I know this album harbours absolutely amazing numbers. Interestingly, the US release actually modified the track listing to be Acoustic Only, which results in some people's preferred version, but I disagree as it means one of my Top Favs is cut (and it goes against the Band's Intent lol). I'm only covering the Original UK Canon for the albums, except for [spoilers lol] MMT and when I gather singles together.
The famous serendipitous distorted image! It's sure conveying A Mood, though I can't say it's a favourite of mine. But I can say that it's possibly the cover I've seen the most, as the music classroom at school had it on the wall among several other non-Beatles records, though I persistently misread the title as "Rubber Soup" instead due to the placement lmao
SIDE ONE
Drive My Car: A bodacious and unique opener here, their first song with a Female Protagonist (if via a Male POV character)! Now only that, but one with ambition and confidence, which really makes this song fun. Even as a Car Disliker, I'm fully on board with the high energy and witty lyrics, and there's something infectious about Beep Beep, M-Beep Beep YEAH! The new Red Album version makes the instruments clearer like the cowbell and tambourine, and it's such a strong first song for this collection~
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown): The famous Sitar debut! This one's narrative gives it a bit of infamy too, as it seems to be another tale of misread signals, but this one with a somewhat shocking twist at the end! Still, the music is very good even with iffy implications lmao. I also dig the waltz timing and clever description of the scenery.
You Won't See Me: I sometimes get this confused with I'm Looking Through You, as they're both Paul songs with pretty much the same jist. However, I'd call this one the weaker of the two. That's not to say it's bad, but the pessimist vibe and the song seemingly losing energy as it progresses make it less of a bop than the sister song, to me at least.
Nowhere Man: I would like to tentatively claim this song as my Favourite of The Beatle's whole catalog. For one thing, it's their first Original that is NOT about love/sex/"dancing" lmao, which makes it more relatable on top of an already empathetic tale. Hmm... the songs John writes quickly after an art block are real easy to relate to for some reason! ^^;; - The Electric instruments meant the song was omitted from the US version of RS, as they were going for an acoustic only feel. Some people think that was a cool idea, but if it comes at the cost of Nowhere Man, I can't agree!! And of course, while the song is another one of John's autobiographical #mood tunes, the use of this in Yellow Submarine as Jeremy's leitmotif and that gorgeous, lovely animated sequence help this one stick in the noggin even more. I always look forward to hearing it~
But anyway, the music itself has SUCH a beautiful distinct feel to it too, the spoken word intro before the Twang of electric guitar kicks it off! The simple but steady driving bass and drums with beautiful little rolls periodically, the way the song repeats and goes back on itself~ I appreciate how the narrator does offer a little bit of reassurance, too... the Nowhere Man might be going in circles, but there's still hope and potential aid to be found...! Opportunity lies in front of you as long as you can find a path!
Think For Yourself: Here's George's moody number for the album! The buzzing bassy twangs offset by the jingle of what I presume is a tambourine, to match his disinterested lyrics about rejecting someone too keen on hearing his take on things. It's solid and distinct but we still have a ways to go before Peak George (at least, those are my own thoughts, dohoho).
The Word: Hmmm.... this kinda feels like a beta test for what would later become All You Need Is Love, albeit with a decidedly different backing music flavour. Unfortunately the lyrics aren't doing it for me, somehow it feels more repetitive and a bit droning, even though (like AYNIL) it's sending a positive message and psychedelic vibe.
Michelle: I love this one, it's so warm and quite sweet. I'm bad at French so the small amount sprinkled in here sounds convincing enough, I think he's saying something like "My Beauty" "[something something] Very Good Combination" and other such phrases. There's a curious atmosphere, like Paul's already kind of come to terms with the inevitable failure due to the language barrier, but he's indulging in a fun what-if daydream. The loud guitar twangs and gentle pace really sound lovely too~ (Note: Upon googletranslating the French I was a bit off lmao)
SIDE TWO
What Goes On: I want to like this song. I want to enjoy so bad, but I'm afraid I'm struggling to. The backing music is great, and the story being told is solid (if in a Beatles For Sale type scenario lol), but the title getting drawn out over and over kind of irk me. Maybe cause that's where the Harmonies get put instead in a better part of the song? I'm a certified Ringo enjoyer but this doesn't seem to be highlighting his strengths the way previous and future songs do.
Girl: I'm not into ASMR so the part where John goes right up to the mic to suck in air doesn't please me at all! XD;; The rest is fine, I like the gentle guitar rhythm, and the lyrics are clever, but when I keep cringing away from the speakers, it does rather affect my enjoyment of a song.
I'm Looking Through You: Hey, it's the sister song to You Won't See Me! I think this one is a bit stronger. I'm also inclined to wonder if Paul's recurring vagueblogging in song form about his dissatisfaction about his relationship to Jane Asher raised any red flags? I mean damn, twice in one album?! And again in the next one? Still, this one has groovy backing tunes and memorable lines, which YWSM lacked to me.
In My Life: This is another favourite for me! And yet again John's autobiographical lean makes a banger lol. This one is ambiguously framed, it's easy enough to see as Romantic but with how much the past people alluded to, I feel like it makes a better memorial song than the many Lover type numbers they've done. And of course, I must remark on the sped up piano/harpsichord(?) bridge/middle eight (???), as that really gives this already more unique song another serving of special sauce~
Wait: This has suuuuch a great backing instrumental, and the vocals and lyrics ain't bad either~ This feels like (yet) another case where a perfectly good, solid song got overshadowed by the competition, and if it were a non-Beatles release it may've topped charts...! Not to say it's the best of the album or even a favourite, but it's Solid! According to youtube comments, this was actually rejected from the Help! sessions?! If true then that only reinforces my point about how odd the perception is, though it's also possible that they did some improving in the time passing lmao
If I Needed Someone: This one is fine too! I don't have as much to say though, the lyrics are a bit wishy-washy but I can't fault the "Aaaaaaaahhhhhh" harmonies or steady drums :>
Run For Your Life: Oooouuugggghhhhhhhhhhhhh 😬 Isn’t it a shame when an incredible instrumental is tied to awful misogynistic words?! [AVGN Voice] What a shitload of fuck! What were they THINKING!? - Before I heard it I knew there was at least 1 incredibly iffy line, but that was wrong, it's the WHOLE damn thing!
I don't wanna come across as the Purity Culture type, who thinks there isn't room for Le Problematique aspects in art, but the entire song leaves not just a bad taste in the mouth, but it also kneecaps the album at the last hurdle. Rubber Soul is close to a no-skips album for me but this is a bummer. And it could have been amazing if it was less aggressive and unambiguously threatening. Homaging an Elvis line in a way that makes me wanna avoid Elvis songs too. Woopieeee. I know John came to regret this one, and again I emphasise it coulda been great if they didn't pick a shitty gimmick for the Words.
CONCLUSION
Best 3: Drive My Car, Nowhere Man, In My Life
Blurst 3: You Won't See Me, The Word, Run For Your Life
If Help! was the band hitting their stride, Rubber Soul is where they really pick up on speed! Almost every song is either fun, clever, beautiful or just plain catchy, and the ones I'm less into personally remain very strong. I still lament Run For Your Life and find the YWSM/ILTY twins a bit more of a drag, but they aren't numbers where I scramble to avoid the songs as a whole either. And on the other side of the coin are a few I'd call my faves!! In fact, this might just be my favourite album as a whole - if not in the entire release catalog, then absolutely So Far, but time will tell...! So, overall I must brand this album Amazing, while trying to keep in mind the next few that are similar quality but with different flavours, but one at a time XD;;
🪲🪲🪲🪲
The next collection keeps coming around, having some of the most beloved and iconic numbers within and being more of a twirl into the Psychodelic. Revolver shall rotate into position in due time~
#The Beatles#Rubber Soul#CutCat listens to Bug Music#Music Review#Wooo I love this one so much!!#If I made a chart of expected enjoyment then we'd have been up a steep curve up!#The next few are also ones I dig... but how long shall it sustain?#still yeah. This Album SLAPS !!

tagged by @vintar for “ten songs you’re vibing to right now”!
ok, i gotta tell you just how EXCITED i was when i got tagged in this, because
i saw it earlier this week, just as me and a friend were talking about our misspent youths, which for both of us involved an awful lot of “stockpiling dope midi file versions of various anime theme songs,” right
and i was like “bro i still have my WHOLE COLLECTION,” and we spent a VERY pleasant evening nostalgia’ing over the tracks i found, and now here i am, days later, sharing ten of my dopest midi files with you as well (& all my fine fine followers ofc)
here’s the dropbox link! a guide:
abyss.mid: god wasn’t this song so sick when it was in dance dance revolution
galaxia.mid: i have NO IDEA what song is from. hmu if you recognize it? lil’ kid me was impressed with its majestic scope, its sick reverb, its really fun ancient-temple-y orchestration, and, ok yeah adult me agrees this one rules
giveareason.mid: i have never watched slayers in my life but i have listened to the midi of its theme song approximately one billion times
lastempl.mid: i think this is the last temple theme of one of the earlier zelda games? i like how AGGRESSIVE it is, just, RIGHT out of the gate it’s loud and in your face
nightwait.mid: *old man voice* back in my day we didn’t have enough space to download em pee threes. we had to collect midi files of cool pop songs. such as jennifer lopez’s classic “waiting for tonight”
SD3_-_Innocent_Sea.mid: it’s a tune from Seiken Densetsu 3, a game soundtrack i find overall tragically underrated. (the whole series, really; Secret of Mana has some absolute bangers too!) anyway “Innocent Sea” and its companion “Innocent Water” have fucked me up for years; ask me to play the latter on the piano at a nerd convention sometime
sealcrazy.mid: there was this one wildlife artist who sold his art on his lovingly handcrafted website and he had a different midi file for each page. like each piece of art for sale had its own page. anyway this was my introduction to Seal, though i didn't realize it until i heard it on the radio when i was 25 and was like HOLY SHIT IT'S THE LIVE VERSION OF THAT MIDI FILE
song1.mid: i think this one might be from Ultima? like the original Ultima online? but i’m really not sure; i found it on a Geocities website for this horse roleplaying game called Black & Blue where this song played in the background during its cool Javascript intro page, where they told the story of The Falling-Out Between The Two Brothers That Has Now Cleaved Our Realm Into Two, and like, text would fade in & out in sync with the music? such a sick effect. loved it
song2.mid: this played once you entered the main part of the site. might be another Ultima song. who fuckin knows
SongoftheWolf.mid: some of you didn’t listen to an absolutely disgusting number of world music albums + Enya during your formative years and it shows
anyway, i will spin the wheel since i’m honestly looking for some new music (i have to drive a bunch during the next month, UGH): @radicarian @ourlightsinvain @jaggedwolf @soanvalcke @departo @nightpool @cyansighs @tototavros @cyanoscarlet & anyone else who wants to join! (did i mention. i have to drive a lot. please share some music with me. save me from listening to Bad Religion’s The Gray Grace so many times it causes an integer overflow in the fabric of the universe and sends us all straight to hell)

Intro Post v 2.0
About me
Hi! I'm William, I also go by the name Willow and Will, use any of the above that you prefer. I will not reveal my age (except on accident if I accidentally date myself) just know I'm gen Z. I'm bi-romantic and sexually confused and absolutely hyper fixated on the idea of love (and my supportive and wonderful girlfriend). I'm also neurodivergent (no clue where I lie on the spectrum but differently not normal) I do have ADD, and yes I do forget where I set things down. I have a deep interest in psychology and love meeting people who's brains are weird like mine! (Also I love getting asks/ reblogs with commentary)
My Interests
I have an absolute mess of interests, and they frequently change. Currently I am having a great time fixating on playing tennis, Minecraft, and acting. I am a stage performer who tends towards playing young boys or authoritarian rulers (weird, but that's theatre). I am also an aspiring blacksmith and engineer.
As far as Tv shows and other media, I absolutely adore hand drawn animation, especially when it is done by people with passion. I also like audio dramas such as Hannapocalypse, The Road of Shadows, and Midnight Burger.
My Projects
Currently I am leading work on an independently developed game called "Morti's Quest for Individuality" which is about an anthropomorphized mushroom that is separated from its colony and then has to learn what it means to exist as a singular entity. Along his journey he ends up creating his own colony which will lead to a final plot point. (Secret). It will be a two dimensional game that heavily features pixel art and dramatic story telling. If you are interested I may occasionally post art updates and (hopefully) a link to the beta at some point!
Finally I have multiple writing WIPs that will mainly be posted about on @mywipsdontend (although their individual blogs are linked at the end of the post
Additionally I am working on developing a TTRPG called "Hearthside Havoc" which is an adventuring game where you are always a commoner and never level up. The gimmick of the system is that death is always a real possibility and that the only way you improve is by acquiring better gear. Once I get it to the point it can be tested I may try to generate interest by posting about it here.
Also, I'm working on a horror anthology of my original works (Eldritch and psychological).
My Posts
This account is mainly for reblogs and less for my thoughts (those are slowly being migrated to @screaminginto-thevoid) If you want to do an @ game with me, this is the blog to tag. Any work on my WIPs will mainly be posted on @mywipsdontend but I may occasionally post updates on here since it is my larger blog.
Project Socials
For those interested, as my projects develop more of an identity I will link their specific pages here.
@your-stupid-face-the-book - This is the project page for my teen romance drama. It's about as cliche as it gets, but it does have a lot of queer representation
@signed-in-blood-the-book - This is the project page for my teen horror setting which revolves around Goetian magic (although the actual rituals are altered because God knows one of you would try summoning a demon). This one has several QPRs, several heteronormative relationships, and general queer representation. (We got Ace, Aro, and Aroace so tune in for some good representation!)

My brain doesn't leave me alone because I have OCs for Castlevania/Akumajou Dracula but I never shared with anyone before about them. In fact those OCs would sound more like 'How to create a back story for game characters by using OCs as plot point or something but not to create similar thing what that NFCV does'.
Why I think of this?
This makes me to write about characters and my original ones, but I always change direction of the story, lack of motivation, and to write a fight scene is too complicated for me.
Currently, I try to improve my writing skills, so maybe (unsure) I can share, only if people are intrested as well. And I said games because the show doesn't make me comfortable to write. The games give me a mysterious nature about the characters and beacuse of lack of backstory (on some characters) and all possible theories/ideas from the fandom, made me to think that I think I should try once.
Me looking at the show and see those OCs, including characters that are from the games and tuned intro OOCs, gives me a moment to swear at the TV. And seing the people create OCs for the fan stories, no problem as I have no problem creating my OCs for fan story for the games (prequel, sequel to the game and anything related, maybe I will look for Lords of Shadow, I try to understand the characters and the plot as well).
How about the characters to be original?
In order to create your own original character, you must to create them in your unique way. For an example, you want your OC to be an asian or black vampire (looking like vampires that we know), you can but you must to make research about believes in that respective region, to not make the same mistake as NFCV does. (Race swapping characters is the worst thing I ever seen, but for love of mother nature, create a character, not change thier skin color.)
Another problem is that don't change characters intro something that couldn't be memorable. If we look to Castlevania: Nocturne, Olrox and Drolta are not only race swapped characters, but also the show try to attracted people like 'Look how sexy they are' but that doesn't mean that they could be remember them. In games, Olrox is a member of Dracula's court, not an aztec, Drolta is a sorceress who serves Elizabeth Bartley, not that sexy vampire how is like a succubus.
If we have to look at how they handle Maria and all girls that are so-called #girlboss in both shows, that is the literally how to ruin a character from games intro something that isn't them. To be strong doesn't mean to be a #girlboss, if you want to make the game character strong but doesn't know how to fight, you can see that they are mentally strong, so take that element and make them important in that respective plot.
NFCV characters are bastards, so-called #girlboss, beautiful men intro crybabies, Dracula is tragic meow meow that didn't nothing wrong, Belmonts and Hector to be treated like shit, to accept toxic relationship like nothing happen (everyone remembers of that Lenore and N!Hector) and Alucard to be so-called sassy only to bully Belmonts!? No! That's is not what characters should be represented and I will always act like NFCV never existed.
Back to part with my writing ideas.
I enjoy writing Akumajou Dracula with my OCs. I don't want to be in Disney's fashion, but more I watch anime and read manga, I saw some elements to create my OCs as sourse of inspiration (side note: if you want an anime/manga that have well writen female protagonist, I can recomand The Apothecary Diaries.)
Like I said earlier, I will wrote for LoS, but I don't have OCs, but I really don't mind. I have respect for LoS recently and I'm take insterst. I will most likely to do oneshots with both timelines because makes me feel comfortable, with canon and with my OC. If you worte with your OC in timeline, that OC is again, yours. My OCs is mine to ad in story.
The conclusion
I'm more confortable to wrote characters form original and LoS timelines, but I need time to think about this. After all, everyone has their own ideas.
Side note: I know that I supposed to be about my writing in one post, but because I'm angry at the NFCV, I decide to bring the OC topic as well. Remember, that is just my opinion.
#akumajou dracula#anti netflixvania#i lack of confidence to write let alone to share#so i have many ideas but when i wast to start just makes me to lost intrest#i don't want to think how that fucking makes me to throw my self to see those bunch of ooc out of nowhere#and i have some writing ideas right now#but for akumajou dracula i'm more happy to wrote my ocs for plot#i'm more intro fluff and against ones

【KagePro】 -from the darkness- 🖤💛🐍
Doodles
Outer Science is the 14th song of the Kagerou Project series, and Kuroha's main appearance. You can check out the Outer Science MV here!
youtube
youtube
Intro rambles
Kuroha/Saeru (Me ga Saeru Hebi, "Snake of Clearing Eyes") is my fave KagePro chara. Murderous mad man!
Inspired by the Outer Science MV, and my fave Kagerou Daze (LN) cover: Vol. 7 -from the darkness-
I'll clean this up later 🙏
Outer Science: Intro rambles
This rearrange cover ft. Kagamine Len is my fave Outer Science fan-cover~ I honestly prefer it over the OG cuz the tuning is better and the adlibs and robotic tones/voice effects really add sm. Has so much more oomph than the OG.
Ty vgperson for carrying the Vocaloid, KagePro, and RPG Maker games communities. Their TLs are so good.
KagePro: Intro rambles
KagePro is a multimedia project/franchise that originally started as Vocaloid songs. It also has a light novel, manga, and (shitty) anime adaptation. These music videos would tell the story of a group called the Mekakushi Dan (Blindfold Gang), teens who died on August 15th and entered the never-ending world called the Kagerou Daze (Heat Haze Daze) and came out with an eye ability.
Kuroha (Dark Konoha) or The Snake of Clearing Eyes (Me ga Saeru Hebi), is the series' big bad antagonist. He is one of Azami's snakes who possesses humans' vessels. He usually possesses Konoha's body, and kills everyone in the Mekakushi Dan to force Marry, the current holder of the Queen Snake (and granddaughter of the original Medusa, Azami), to reset the timeline, thus, forever repeating the "never ending tragedy."
I'm still amazed by Sidu's MVs. Outer Science is still my fave KagePro song and MV. Sidu's art style is so nice and their MVs are gorgeous. Sidu really appealed to my aesthetic tastes when I first saw this MV in 2013 as a 12 year old, I was immediately enamoured with it. They have such great aesthetic sense.
The colours and chosen visuals… How every single scene has so much attention to detail and connects to the story…
My origins with KagePro
I first got into KagePro when I was 12, so Kuroha was my 12 year old self's big fave~ KagePro was my kid self's first fandom interest.
12 ~ 16 y/o me was OBSESSED with this mf and the KuroEne ship 😭 Ene my wife… 🥺💙 Cuz I shipped them when Kuroha was originally thought to be a dark alter ego of Konoha/Haruka. That got debunked but the ship brings such great angst fuel
The Kuroha liker in me coming out with the unhinged anime man / meow meow mf core taste, HAHA.
I love smug evil bitches with black/white design aesthetics 🐈⬛ I love his expressions ✌️ And Kuroha has a great song and MV too~
The Kuroha (2013), Saeran (2016), Judar (2022) pipeline!
Art Inspiration
I did a quick Kuroha doodle. God the lowkey buff-ification is happening just like with Unknown/Saeran, but oh well LOL
Oh I think I also want the KagePro LNs 🙏 Sidu's gorgeous Kagerou Daze VII (7) cover with Kuroha on the cover 🖤💛 This will always be my favourite cover. Sidu's art style is IMPECCABLE I love their aesthetics sm… The pose and blood splatters and Kuroha and Azami's expressions… AHHH IT SLAPS SO HARD
I thought of a composition where all the "Keep out" tapes bind around his hands and arms just like in the LN cover.
It's based on the "Welcome to my womb" (Youkoso waga tainai he) line in the Outer Science MV and my fave Kagerou Daze (LN) cover -from the darkness- 🤭✨
I remember drawing fanart of it when this LN first got announced and came out in 2016, but my old art looks like frigging doodoo so I did a quick doodle redraw of it. I wanna draw JuAli, Saeran/MC, and KuroEne, soon, but grrr school!
Sen's KuroEne AU 🖤💙
The first ship I was obsessed with as a 12 year old was KuroEne cuz it was based off the popular fan-theory that Kuroha was a dark alter ego/corrupted form of Konoha, and so, that would've given the ship a connection (due to HaruTaka and KonoEne)
It got debunked by MCA (Mekakucity Actors), the KagePro anime, in 2014, since Kuroha was revealed to be Saeru, the Snake of Clearing Eyes, so ever since, I preferred dealing with KuroEne in lighthearted AUs instead.
But I also like thinking of KuroEne in canon-verse angst AUs where Kuroha messes around in the routes (timelines) and pretends to be Konoha. He decides to befriend the Mekakushi Dan members before k*lling them this time, and Ene projects her feelings for Haruka and Konoha, onto Kuroha (who she thinks is Konoha…)
2 years ago, before Ene lost her human body and became a cyber girl, she was Takane, a special needs student who had a chronic illness that would cause her to constantly faint and feel tired no matter how much she slept.
She was put in the same special needs class as Haruka, her friend and classmate who she eventually fell in love with. She never got the chance to tell him her feelings before she died. When she entered the Kagerou Daze and gained an eye ability, she gained a body that never needed sleep in response to her wish back when she was alive.
Haruka was an artist, and designed game avatars for them back then - Ene and Konoha. In the present day, 2 years later, when she meets Kuroha, she recognizes his appearance, and thinks he's Konoha. After seeing Kuroha, who she thinks is Konoha, she's surprised to see "Konoha" in the flesh...
In my KuroEne AU, Ene thinks that Kuroha is Konoha with Haruka's memories, because Kuroha/Saeru remembers previous routes (timelines) and thus knows her true name (Takane) and context.
I'm insane LMAO. I love angst!
I'm just thinking about how much I mellowed out over the years, cuz my ship AUs for LimGuda (Douman/Ritsuka), IdaTatsu (Idate/Tatsumiya), XanLena (Xanxus/Selena), JuAli (Judar/Alibaba), etc., are super fluffy and focused on the characters' relationship development and moments of emotional intimacy, building rapport and connection... These AUs are overall happy/have a happy ending! I want my faves to be happy <3
But the ship AUs I made when I was a kid, like for KuroEne (Kuroha/Ene), were angsty as hell. I think it's just cuz Kuroha's setup and role in KagePro's plot, as the big bad murderer that kills the entire Mekakushi Dan, just makes it so that any KuroEne AUs (and Kuroha ships in general tbh), that take place in canon-verse, will always end tragically. Good thing I still got it in me to be able to write angst/tragedy... hehe.
Ofc, I will delve into light-hearted AUs with them too that take place outside of canon~ I want to write/draw KuroEne in a much more fluffy and lighthearted setting too.
My fave screenshots from the Outer Science MV!

Rating 500+ Theme Tunes - #4: Animaniacs
Have you ever wondered who the Warner Bros. are? Well, they were probably some real guys but they're also two... creatures of some form, and they even have a sister! These are the Animaniacs! Yakko, Wakko, & Dot Warner live in the Warner Bros. water tower, and our the main characters of this 90's classic. The show features all sorts of comedic segments with all sorts of characters however, even being the origin of the infamous Pinky & The Brain. I'd liken this show to a sketch comedy show in a way, with wall-to-wall jokes and a variety of settings.
Now, Animaniacs is the first show thus far that was truly before my time. It's original run finished four whole years before my birth. I'll give you a sentence to process that. While I haven't watched full episodes of the show, I did watch the Pinky & The Brain standalone show and I'm also familiar with many segments from the show. I frequently listen to Yakko Warner's Nations of the World and Wakko Warner's America.
The show seems like an absolute hoot from everything I see, absolutely something I would get a lot of enjoyment from. It always makes me laugh! It's pretty weird too that Steven Spielburg is behind Animaniacs! That man really got around. Anyway, while we're here, I also haven't seen the revival series. We don't even get Hulu in the UK.
Theme time!
Animaniacs Theme Tune
This song goes so goddamn hard. I can't even lie. One of the biggest earworms I have ever heard in the history of intros. Everytime I find myself singing it! Just everything about this one makes me love this show, which is really exactly what you want. So much of the humour comes across perfectly in this song, even including a line about the characters' "pay-for-play contracts"! The meta-humour, the quick-humour, and while it can't influence my decision here, the physical humour of the animation is all perfect. Big brassy and mischievous instrumentals tie it all together brilliantly, making it that classic Warner Bros. cartoon mayhem for the audience of the 90's, with pop-culture of the time and fourth-wall breaks aplenty. This show and this theme knows what it is and wants to use that fully to its advantage.
An absolutely delightful intro. This one has to be an S-tier for me. Those are the facts!
Stay tuned for more and be sure to send in any suggestions for other shows you'd like to see done (after the 500 already in the pipeline that is). Check out the intro to this series here, and now, the tier list.
