ah yes, more Midnight Lily, a silverbell cameo and two Moonflower doodles. AU by @cuppajj

For Moonflowers story, we have her main conflict with her father, Saint Vanilla Cookie. But what about Midnight Lily Cookie, her mother? To give a little context for whats coming up, Moonflowers story theming around the Saint where Moonflower symbolizes the Moon, which includes the Solar Eclipse to contrast the Saints light themed imagery. Plus Moonflowers additional and more religious theming being based on the Spirit of Apostasy.

It is abundantly clear that Midnight Lily is an enabler of the other Neo Beasts, while to some extent understandable as she is the weakest of the Neo Beasts (she has long crossed the line of it being acceptable).

To compliment well with the general religious theming, I did additional research into the role of a mother in the lens of the Bible. 'the mother is one who "binds" the family together, holding them together individually and collectively through her love and actions' Despite how broken the family is, the only remaining connection that Moonflower has with the Saint IS Midnight Lily. And in return, she does care for her daughter and the Saint at some level. Yet, she does nothing to genuinely mend what has been broken (no one is, Moonflower is afraid of her father and the Saint is so delusional that he believes that this is the best course of action to save everyone). This fits her pattern of enabling and being generally passive to the world around her, for the most part.

Another aspect that I have neglected to mention is her slow-burn of a plan, she seeks by the end to have the others at least playing by her rules, but also not liking when her children do things she does not like. This is now territory where I do a lot of guess work and personal thoughts n' research so this is very much subject to change if anymore gets revealed.

How I have understood the few tidbits we get about the Beast of Sovereignty, she is an enabler and insecure about being the weakest. And I think her insecurity in some way, even if unintentional may reflect on her relationships where she is the one in power. In general, she is fine with her kids, generally passive until they get too unruly. At that point, she will remind them with harsh words who the mother is. I'd like to note quickly, she will NEVER get physical. She only uses WORDS. It is also important to note that she does wish for her child to understand where she is coming from. She is an enabler because she holds little power over the beasts, but in dynamics where she is the one in power, this side vanishes for the most part. Despite valuing sovereignty I believe she still wants to retain some level of control so Cookies don't do things she does not like. This is generally in line with how leadership generally operate, they don't care when you're doing smth positive, but when it turns negative, that's when it starts turning sour.

As for the actual arc of Midnight Lily and Moonflower, I have a general framing but it is difficult to make something as substantial as the one she has with Saint Vanilla. Gotta wait until I get more lore and story for the gal. But in short, it is a conflict of the two trying to make each other understand their respective sides. With Moonflower trying to save her mother, her only remaining parental figure from being a beast- while Midnight Lily seeks to make Moonflower truly understand her side and hopefully have Moonflower join her permanently.

Heres other tidbits for Moonflower and her relationship with the Creme Republic. For her ventures to the Silver Kingdom are actually secret. She is a very powerful and talented magic user (similar to her parents), so her travelling long distances quickly is very possible. Moonflower is already an outcast in the Republic, it is well known who her parents are. And Cookies keep their distance, there are very few Cookies who come and check in her. Its mostly some scientists who are researching the neo beasts (espresso, maybe, depends on his condition in this au), Clotted Cream Cookie, GingerBrave, Financer (sort of, she tags along the Consul) and depending on the direction of the story, Madelaine Cookie(I will start really brewing something here once more stuff comes out~). She stays isolated in her lab in the undercity, she never comes out, and when she does, she hides her face and just retrieves things like food or research material. It is normal for her to not talk with anyone for well over a week with nothing but a single lost Raisin Crow to keep her company. I'd like to note that this raisin crow is now an albino, and Black Raisin tasked Moonflower to take care of it since it was bullied and ousted by the other raisin crows (I took inspo from the myth, but it is generally agreed that white color corvids are subordinate to the colored ones).

But she is also an outcast in the silver kingdom, despite being Midnight Lilys kid (its a well known fact), she has gotten into disagreements with their monarch and isn't the upmost loyal member- she has a strong stigma around her. Silverbell Cookie does take pity on Moonflower.

I do plan to make baau minicomics someday hopefully, and those + the extra lore pictures I'm already doing can be part of a loose / understandable timeline. The timeline is gonna do the bulk of the linear narration, while I just put its plot points in it :'D

Honestly I don’t understand the hate behind “toxic” ships in fiction, I personally couldn’t care less what people ship as long as it’s entirely fictional and they aren’t condoning the actions of the characters. Sure I’ll still block someone if their ships make me uncomfortable, but I have a “ship and let ship” type of view on these things.

Exactly. I'm just SO tired and so done with this shit. The Cookie Run fandom has always been shit to some degree, since CROB first came out, but CRK brought in whole legions of people who haven't seen grass in years and it's just sad at this point lol. So long as they're both adults (ZERO tolerance for adult/minor ships at all times, fuck that shit), why does it matter? It's fiction. No one is being harmed. Explore whatever concept or dynamic you wish. Wholesome, toxic, everything in between. Just remember to maintain a healthy level of detachment from it all; don't get mad if people don't ship the same ships you do, don't get wrapped up in discourse or arguing or anything. Doesn't do anyone any good, including you and me.

There are plenty of ships I don't like (in general, even outside of Cookie Run). I am anti-FireWind and always will be. ShadowSpice makes less than zero sense to me, like wtf are you people on about lol. Hollytaya gives me rabies and I hate remembering it exists (God I hate Hollytaya so fucking much it is absolutely unreal lmao). Guess what? I block the ship tags and go about my business. I don't go out of my way to look for ship art or fics, nor do I bother people who ship any of those (or any other ships I don't like). I have friends and acquaintances that ship these three that I've listed, and I don't think any less of them for it. It's all good in the neighborhood. All shipping is at the end of the day is playing dollhouse. Getting mad at people for playing with the dolls in the "wrong" way is dumb and pathetic lol. Live and let live. Hate the ship, not the shipper.

Kakanaru au where kakashi gets hurt on a mission and passes out in the middle of a forest on the way back to Konoha.

When he wakes up he’s neatly laid out in the middle of an old shrine, with fresh bandages wrapped around his stitched up wounds and warm tea at his elbow.

The fact he remained unconscious through someone moving him and closing his wounds was discontenting even if it wasn’t particularly surprising. He did lose a lot of blood and chakra after all.

Now that he’s awake, kakashi knows he should leave. He knows better than to test his luck staying in place for too long anywhere outside of the village.

But…he’s curious. And despite the stitches, he’s still in danger of infection considering Konoha is over a week away in his current state.

So he leverages himself up, and tries to look around as much as he can. But the entire shrine is empty. Not a single sign of the one that helped him.

When he wakes up again a few hours later there’s a pot of warm tea at his side to replace the old cup, a little pile of fruit, and new bandages. The day after that, there’s sake and plum wine added to the mix.

Kakashi doesn’t really know what’s happening but he’s never been one to sit idle nor has he ever been an ungrateful man. So as soon as he’s able to get up without his head spinning he gets to work. he sweeps the floors and dusts the cobwebs. Even polishes a little golden fox statue he finds tucked behind a wooden alter.

It’s the least he could do for his hidden host. The caretaker of this place maybe?

Kakashi’s body and chakra recovers faster than he anticipated. After five days he leaves even as the Hatake part of him that lives in back of his head keens.

Before he goes he pats the golden fox on the head. It was oddly cute compared to the 9 statues of snarling stone foxes surrounding it, though there was undeniable beauty in those too.

A few months later he’s injured again and realizes the shrine is on his way back to Konoha. He stops there to rest for the night and heads out in the morning, only taking the time to drink some of the tea and wipe down the alter, barely noticing how his chakra coils have refilled already.

And it keeps happening whenever he gets injured. He comes, he rests, he cleans, and goes with a pat to the gold statues head.

Until one day he wakes up to a long limbed blond at his side instead of the usual tea and fruits. When the blanket shifts to reveal a bare back and smooth tan skin he thanks every god out there for his mask covering his blush. Sleepy blue eyes blink open at him right on cue and honestly? Kakashi thinks he deserved that for not putting the pieces together earlier.

Idk but the way they’re framing Dark Cacao rn with the whole “a bunch of people broke in tried to my steal my (fake) treasure and called me a fake immortal” backstory for Mystic Flour combined with the whole yin/yang symbolism in that one frame from the trailer and the fact that she still seems to want what’s best for cookiekind added onto the fact that Dark Choco (a character about second chances and forgiveness) is showing up in BY book 4…. Idk makes me think that maybe she’s getting redeemed or something.

Not a serious theory or anything, I’m totally wrong but it’s fun to think about. The beast updates actually being about the 5 heroes Friendship is Magic-ing their way into helping the beasts like come to terms with their situation and learn to coexist with the two halves of their soul jam.

Maybe that could be what the “Awakened” states are- becoming the whole soul jam light thingy. Or maybe just accepting their place as a half. Like I said, not a serious prediction it’s just fun to think about.

Soo,, I've been watching some of the witch's castle lore (thank you Royal Mike) and I just can't get this idea outta my mind..

The First Counsel of Everything AU

(In this AU, Witch's Castle came before Kingdom, and the gingercrew are basically stuck in a cycle of being rebaked as normal cookies until the counsel is needed again.)

Gingerbrave - The Happy Emperor of Shadows.

The ruler of all shadow and darkness! Even if some of his recent subjects may not know it, though the oldest shadows that knew his rule definitely hope for his return again! With such a smile and kind personality, he made the shadows and darkness just as safe of a place that the light was, such a contrast to what it sadly is today. Debatably the leader of the counsel.

Strawberry Cookie - Queen of Imagination.

The shy ruler of all creativity, imagination, and dreams. Beloved by her subjects in the land of dreams, as she herself understands the love and care that goes into every art, even the ones baked up in the mind! Her thoughts can blend and bleed into the world by portals, making her a power house among the counsel. What she reigns over may never be in danger, but she will always spring back in to aid her friends and counsel!

Wizard Cookie - High Wizard of Insight.

No doubt deserving of his title, this High Wizard is the head of all magic, magical beings, and the smarts, too. He never seems to get a spell wrong, nor forget a face! The ones who follow his teachings can't deny that he's fit for the head of all magic. After all, what's a better fit than the one who got magic into every cookies' hands and books! His return is expected, as magic is in everything these days, and he is undeniably the brain of the counsel.

Gingerbright - Empress of Harmony.

The empress of all connections and harmony! All who can live in peace and friendship or thrive in their life with a bond, those are her subjects. Spirits and ghosts await her return, waiting for the cheerful giggles and unhinged sneers of command to lead them and the ones without leaders to whatever or wherever she will go. She is as kind, clever, and sweet as she is as threatening, and all who made an enemy of her sweat and tremble at the thought of her return. She seeks fun and adventure, and with her unity and harmony under soon threat, she no doubt will be with the rest of the counsel to stop the overflowing havoc to come.

Gingerdozer - Soft Emperor of Light.

Appearing the least, but no less one of the most vital, this is the ruler of light and divine. Few of his subjects know of him, but he is loved by those of his subjects who do. The boy's smile was said to have been able to bring light to a dark room and hope to the hopeless. The unity between light and dark came from his bond with his brother, and he kept the light in balance with the shadows. With how his divine light has changed for the worst, he is bound to wake and return the sharp, overwhelming light back to a soft, warm glow. Just as the counsel's second in command should!

Different for the Lantern…

This time of year when snow would dress the land with a white blanket….when families big and small and cookies big and small gather to give and gain joy….was a time of year The Lantern Child would both dread and wondered of. This year would be the first Christmas without her Father. No morning hugs from the Saint, and no hearing the lambs with their carols. But atleast no one worried much of her playing in the snow, only for the Saint to help sneak her out to the snow. Of course he kept watch of her so she didn’t disappear into a pile of snow again and made her wear a coat and boots. Afterall, He’s still her father and tries making up the time when he’s not present.

This time however, The two were far separate, the Lantern Child within a city for the time being while he was none the wiser of her location. It felt, lonely almost for her. While she was around friends she made and folk she sees as family, it felt odd to be far. Never to give a present to her father in person, only to leave presents behind in her room for the occasions. She would never grasp a present into her hands for her from the lambs, but would now grasp the surprise of gifts from those of her new family. It was strange, as the only gifts outside of the Penance were some of the neobeasts. She could only see it as a way to distract and appease the Saint in a way, other than the rare occasion of the Frosted king sending one and when the Faerie queen sent one.

But this time, it felt genuine almost…as if the smiles of her new companions and those around her were abit more eased as if talking to another cookie. Like she wasn’t a child of a Neobeast, but as a friend and almost family to them. She got to play with the other kids, eat and talk with other cookies, and even given and received gifts from other cookies. All like she was a normal being. Not a Demi-god, not a mini angel of death, and not of her father. A child, without ties to someone’s evil and a child of these people.

She couldn’t help but be filled with joy at this. Did she not feel grateful for what the Lambs and their Saintly Sheperd’s care? She worried of such but could never not look back at it with shame. She knew of care and the fact she was atleast treated well. But why the joy, isn’t too far to tell why.

Still, the Lantern child would now sit by the hearth, reminiscing of both good and old, new and bad. She made it this far, and gained so much despite everything. She’d hug the gifted book to her chest. One whose title read “Healing and Life: The Ways to Use Magic for the Wellbeing.” The big book fit comfortably in her arms, and a boost in her journey when she would open it. But today by the insistence of the others, she would refrain from diving into her studies until the holiday would be over. After all, she doesn’t have anyone to take it away from her. Not this time.

It’s here to stay, and she as well. Albeit for a time.

she wonders of how The Lambs are doing. How the Bishop planned and preached and How the Holy Dart worked and heeded.

How her Father must be feeling, or if he knew of her disappearance at all…

she hopes he’s okay, even if he was still a broken man inside as she realized. That he won’t worry nor feel angry for her choice, resting well and taking care of himself. He may be a Neobeast, but still the caring and kind father that held her close to his heart. None could make her hate him, they’d both hope. …..

Let’s hope he’s disillusioned…atleast for his daughter’s sake.

Um, probably At the Mercy of the Stars (Feysand), because it’s the fic I’m proudest of at the moment.

Then I’d recommend Would You Like Me on My Knees? bc every girl needs to scratch the beast!rhys itch Scheherazade!Feysand was so fun to write, even if it’s discontinued.

Lastly, A Renaissance Romance. It isn't great quality, but it's the only multichapter I've finished for acotar.

Like uhhh Dragonberry ends up trying to crumble Saint due to getting sick of his Lambs lambing around her kingdom but he just gets back up, cracks across his dough regenerating, strawberry jam evaporating into light, and even his clothes get fixed up as he just,,,

May be what makes him more of a threat outside of being a cult leader who thanos snaps people, while everyone else has potent powers and whatnot, Saint can just tank any hit so long as he has his soul jam- (and maybe if he's not completely destroyed)

Oh man that's a tough one, I sure love creechur. But (mario voice) here we go!

1- The Tarasque.

Such an absurd creature, an ancient pre-christian gallic myth that survived all this time, with the story of its demise still being celebrated in the original village where it supposedly happened to this day? Very difficult for me not to be completely entranced by this strange beast and having my heart filled with affection for it.

I mean. Just look at it. ♥

2- Dragons

Though the Tarasque technically is a dragon, I do have to add them to that list, the more common ones people think of when they hear that name.

It's an undying classic, powerful and classy, and you can absolutely never go wrong with those beasts. They always slap. Never fails.

3- The Monkfish (or Sea Monk)

I'm just. I'm fucking. Biaised towards that poor pathetic creature. Like. I mean. Just look at this fucking thing.

This is a monk fish. It was supposedly found somewhere in the 1500s. Apparently it does fill some sort of ecclesiastic role to bless the mermaids down there or something. Like I'm being straight up this is what they said back then. THis is so fucking funny to me. My friends and I found out about it in a book about sea myths on a vacation and we cried laughing at him for the whole week we were there and now he's legitimately our symbol.

I'm talking 'printing a flag with this goddamn drawing on it' symbol. Taking this flag wherever we go and putting it up proudly like we're the monkfish nation.
