very obvious thing but like okay in e-class the entire lesson is that failure is alright. it's fine because you can fail as many times as needed as long as in the end you are successful. everyone looks down on them due to their failures which has to do with the school's philosophy of failure not being an option-- fuelled especially by the principal, who never fails, and when he did, once, he felt its sting so greatly he knew that if he failed again he would go mad. he pushes this mentality onto his son asano, which is why asano is so much like him, yet asano fails many more times. we see with itona's entire arc that after he fails a certain number of times, and because e-class agressively teaches him a lesson, he accepts failure as a necessary part of the process to success and he goes from having severe mental breakdowns over his failures to assassinate koro-sensei to accepting and learning from each mistake. we see in e-class that each character has failed, in some way or another, and, in some way or another, their arcs involve accepting failure and working through it and improving. context im on s2 ep 5 and i just made the connection between like. the clash of values of the principal and e-class, and why the principal hates failure so much. i would really like to see asano learn to accept failure like e-class has done, and develop into a character not so controlled by his father's values. sorry i just had to get this out i love literary analysis and im binging assclass and im slightly wine drunk so. have my word vomit ok back to watching the show

of course! i should’ve mentioned this on my introduction but im totally comfortable with polyam requests, as a polyamorous person myself! plus, dratchet is adorable <3 you have good taste anon

without further ado, have some dratchet

dratchet x human reader (sfw)

you’re the first human on the ship, so it’s natural for transformers to take interest in you. everyone was curious about the human. yet after the initial excitement faded away, bots like ratchet and drift still were curious about you

as the only organic, the medic was curious and worried to see how your body worked. what would happen if you got injured? what would he do then? and worst of all… what does that say about him, as a medic? if he can’t heal the crew then what good is he as a medic? so he does checkups repeatedly to better understand how your body function. while his initial reasons are based on his own insecurities… a genuine bond does form

you talk about your hobbies, your interests, whatever makes you happy as ratchet does his checkups because speaking from personal experience… doctor visits are not easy. while ratchet is initially annoyed by your rambles, your passion inspires him. and on cycles where he isn’t scheduled to check up on you… he finds himself missing your presence (he’d rather die than admit it though lol)

for drift… his reasons for becoming close to you r for redemption. as a former deception, he’s done some terrible things against those he deemed as inferior: humans being one of them. by befriending you… he can’t take away his past, but he can create a better future with you. and much like hot rod, you match his energy. unlike said mech, you try to understand his interests, like crystals and yoga

of course, you being involved in the equation doesn’t erase dratchet from happening—if anything, it only pushes them to happen sooner. when drift confides to you, you encourage him to talk to ratchet more, and wingman for him, hyping him in front of ratchet. and while ratchet is initially skeptical of even talking to drift since they’re so. Different they do become a thing

they become a thing and you think your job here is done. unbeknownst to you, these bots want you too! so they make their own moves! drift gives you as many compliments as possible that tether on the edge between platonic and something more. he ultimately confesses with a heartfelt gesture. maybe with all his crystals forming a heart. cheesy but endearingly sweet <3

ratchet isn’t as loud about his feelings but… he definitely is softer in his interactions with you. he gives you lots of soft looks when he thinks you aren’t looking. i can’t see him confessing unless it’s heat of the moment so i think you or drift would have to make the first move to suggest a polyamorous relationship. but between the three of you: resident protector, medic, and human of megarod’s ship, you’re a wonderful trio

And my original tags condensed into incomprehensible paragraphs because there was not enough space to fit all of them underneath. Dear lord.

Genuinely I keep thinking about them oh my lord. The way in a normal world they would have never met. Wouldn't have even known eachother existed except in passing and rumors. Yet in this world where everything is falling apart Griefer and Jim are the only lifelines in their towns, do they meet even if its in voicechat. The only way Roadtown can talk to Turitopulis. And if Red lives in somewhere other than Roadtown or Blackrock, then Jim is quite literally the only way Brad can get updates on his father.

So they start talking and planning and communicating. And they communicate and they learn about eachother and they start talking more than strictly necessary and days or months or maybe years later, Griefer suddenly realizes that he's looking forward to his next conversation with Jim. He likes talking to him. He finds comfort with him. He cares a lot for Jim. A lot. Like a bird trying to rip out of his chest. Over the voice on his headphones who hes never seen before.

And if he knew Jim a little less well. If he maybe he were willing to beg a little more. He might've asked Jim to go and live in blackrock like his dad, or even go to Turitopulis to stay with him. But he knows who Jim is, and he knows who he is, and if someone had ever asked him to leave Turitopulis he would've socked them in the face. And even though he's calmer and more mellower than him, Griefer knows Jim would never think about leaving Roadtown for it to defend itself. And nobodys really manning the planes except for Jerry nowdays. So he never bothers asking.

But like a riving pounding against stone, the voices know they can't last forever and one day, maybe the voices finally got to him or maybe it was an act of self sacrifice, but Jim blows himself up. And all of the sudden Brad is left with headphones that emit static, no contact to Roadtown, and a sinking pit in his stomach. Do you see my vision here. Gripping myself.

ok being normal: I really really like how we get to see a different side of suns in this. previously with your art we see suns as this caring sweet guy, which is still true. but now? now we get to see suns at their absolute limit almost. we get to see what they’re like when they’re not with sigs and i really think this is super well done. its very smooth and clean and you can tell there was care + effort put into it. great song choice as well.

I dunno if the kids regard it as cringe or not, but I'm using a lot of German in my EmmRook fic and I was wondering if any of my Deutschsprachig friends would be willing to look over the dialogue or offer more rustic/antiquated-sounding suggestions. Yes, most of it is Emmrich and my Rook being shmoopy to one another, but I like authenticity, dammit. I do have some familiarity with German and triple-check any I put in, but I won't lie that my knowledge is... esoteric, at best.

If anyone has any advice for putting hovertext translations into the Ao3 text editor to save a few scrolling headaches, please share.
