23 September 1967
Sometime this week, maybe today, "I Am the Walrus" was filmed. The confusion over who wore the walrus costume should never have become a thing, but it did.

Mistigram: today is Bi Visibility Day, and if your local bi person is wearing this colourful flag, as illustrated in #ANSIart here by AdeptApril, they will certainly be visible. Its top pink stripe apparently means same-sex attraction, the blue stripe on the bottom representing attraction to the opposite sex. And that purple band in the middle? This is a Venn diagram!

Sign languages unite us!
The International Day of Sign Languages is a unique opportunity to support and protect the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of all deaf people and other sign language users. During the 2023 celebration of the International Day of Sign Languages, the world will once again highlight the unity generated by our sign languages. Deaf communities, governments and civil society organizations maintain their collective efforts - hand in hand - in fostering, promoting and recognizing national sign languages as part of their countries’ vibrant and diverse linguistic landscapes.

Sometimes what matters with e-mails is to get the necessary information across.
I received an e-mail from my social worker last week. She has returned to work after having a baby and asked if we could meet. I hadn't heard from the social worker who had replaced her, apparently temporarily, for a while, and had been meaning to get in touch.
There are many things to be discussed, but I didn't know how to put them all in an e-mail. So I procrastinated. Last week. All weekend. And today.
I mulled over the various points I wanted to hit. How to organise them. Which were more important. I've been stressing out over this for weeks now, even before I received this e-mail. This is an e-mail that has been long in the making, but was never made. Too much thinking.
Tonight I resolved to drop all the niff-naff. She asked to meet, and proposed a time later this week. That was the question she needed an answer to right now. The rest we can discuss. Later this week.
For some e-mails, you don't need to do the social dance.
