The sword of the day is the pira.

The Pira is a type of bolo sword used by the Yakan people, one of the Moro tribes from the southern Philippines. Like all bolos, the blade also served as a general-purpose utility tool in addition to a weapon. The curved blade and wide profile make it a powerful chopping tool. The most unique feature is undoubtedly the pommel, which features a long wooden tail as opposed to something more typical. As far as I can determine, its function is purely aesthetic, and the one shown here is something of an extreme example; most of them, if they have these tails, have significantly smaller ones.
