The drow are fun when you look at the mechanics, read between the lines and realise that not only do most of them need a million years of mental health therapy, they also look like they need a million years of decent food and sleep because my god these people are not well.

Due to the dangers of the underdark (and daily life) disrupting them badly enough, many drow simply cannot relax enough to reverie and are forced to sleep - which the Tel'Quessir are said to only really do during a health crisis or due to severe exhaustion.

Average height for surface elves (5'5"-5'6") is the maximum height drow are capable of (the equivalent of a drow being 5'5" is a human or surface elf being 6'6"). They weigh barely anything. 'Lithe, slim, and graceful in build' - I think you mean malnourished: notably the duergar and the svirfneblin are also scrawnier than their surface counterparts.

And their lifespan can go above 1000 years old but is only observed in rare drow 'who are subjected to the least hardship' and the average drow lifespan is markedly shorter than any surface elves because 94% of them die of natural causes before they can get old-old. Even when you take out the murder, stress is going to kill you, apparently. That and your natural inclination to having shit constitution scores.

We can also optionally throw in Ed Greenwood mentioning that half-drow (of human and surface elven parentage, mostly) are prone to skin and eye diseases from drow genetics (which will cause many people to sneer and point at you and say it's the gods punishing your parents for producing children with a drow/surfacer, because people are delightful).

The first step to getting the drow to calm down after removing them from the living nightmare they're born and basically trapped in is to let them recover from chronic bad sleep hygiene and then fetch them a decent nutritionist and then they'll be in shape for the mental health therapy and deprogramming. No wonder Eilistraee tells her followers to offer everybody good meals and focus on feeding people and offering them a safe place to rest their head.

Get the duregar and svirfneblin some too for their lethal work hours - deep gnomes are chiller but no less stressed, they literally have no retirement and work themselves into the grave thanks to the necessities of survival; and duergar also work constantly, living in an industrial nightmare, and are forbidden by Laduguer to be happy.

Height: Caldera has bad posture and stands shorter than 5'5 when hunched VS Deci who is stretched like taffy. Deci can be anywhere from 6 to 7 feet and usually floats.

Eyes: Caldera has bad insomnia and has noticeable eye bags VS Deci's eyes are wide and she doesn't blink. (the second of Caldera's eyes there is the color pallet her eyes get after a demon deal)

Expression: Caldera is usually tense and easily disgusted and annoyed VS Deci got rid of all emotional facial expression. Reading faces sucked during life so now no one gets to read hers. (when Deci isn't centered her face/body get more abstract with anger or mania)

Hands: Caldera struggled with nail picking (Onychotillomania) all her life. It eventually evolved into general ocd about having nails. Attempts have been made to cut them out completely. VS Deci has no nails whatsoever and no toes at all. Deci's hands are also elongated and spidery to match her new look.

Chest: Caldera has tits. Deci got rid of them. (indulgent on my part heheheh. autism sensory nightmare both Caldera and I shared..)

Clothes: Caldera would wear one pair of clothes out completely before having to buy another. Picking out clothes was a annoying. VS Deci's default form is both nude and clothed at once. Convenient.

Caldera was a miserable genius when she was alive, in death Deci is free from society and anxiety. Deci thinks all humans are trapped in their gross flesh bodies with things they don't need. Since she's smart she knows this better than most people and will kill and/or lobotomize others to help them. Smart ones turn into ghosts like her. Ones that pass on should still be grateful.

What is O/S like in your au? Like what are its symptoms and what does it do to people?

it VARIES from character to character cuz it relies on mental state, physical health, if slendy even wants you, etc... but generalllyyyyy...

you must be infected by the operator first. the operator will either release you after abt a year, or you can consume liquid harvested from slendy to heal early - but this may result in proxification and put you under slendy.

symptoms for both: coughing fits, hallucinations, paranoia, vomiting, headaches, the usual. symptoms for operator: intense rage and aggression, but he cannot control you/your symptoms specifically symptoms for slendy: IF HE CHOOSES TO KEEP YOU, he can specifically control you and your symptoms like a puppet. longer explanation under cut

in general, it starts with the operator. symptoms include coughing fits, vomiting, headaches, nightmares, etc. eventually, he drives you mad until you start losing days worth of memories and he's completely using you to cause havoc. HE HAS LITTLE TO NO CONTROL OVER YOU. he overwhelms your senses, makes you angry, and encourages you to bring attention to the forest, but he cannot mind control you like slendy. some people grow weaker, some people grow stronger, it really depends

the operator can only firmly infect you for about a year, but its almost like holding onto the same human becomes toxic for him so he lets go... thus, you're free. BUT IN THAT YEAR, if you repeatedly consume this liquid harvested from slendy's body in the mines, it can 'heal' you quicker.

when you consume the harvested liquid, slendy decides if you're a worthy vessel or not. this can depend on various factors, like desperate need for proxies (kate), strength/mental state(tim/brian), something helpful (toby's CIPA), etc. if he decides you're worth it, he'll take over the operator's place... SLENDY CAN CONTROL YOU AND YOUR SYMPTOMS. he can give you specific hallucinations, give you headaches, use your body as a literal puppet, etc. typically results in an animalistic 'proxy mode', which includes the increased senses, endurance, etc. almost an entirely separate state of mind, but lines blur at times...

some cases like clocky and jeff, slendy decided they weren't worth it for similar reasons (too chaotic, no specific benefits, peculiar appearances, etc). they maintained some symptoms including the enhanced strength, but it withers away overtime

not everything is the same for each individual, though. it usually varies on how slendy views you, your age when taken, your mental state, obedience, proximity to him, etc... hence why a 5'5 malnourished woman can EASILY whoop a 6'1 buff man's ass.

Ok, So this is a post about the Possessed Struggles AU

Yes it is inspired by other games, shows, and the GB (Gaster Blaster AU)

LONG POST!!

Context:

An unknown person had become aware of the multiverse through a vision and wanted power for themselves. Due to this, they looked around to gain control of someone or some people and then found a "small book with a broken crescent moon and sun on it." After reading what was in it, they decided to use it on one of the Guardians. They found loopholes when portals opened into other multiverse and once they saw a pattern, they used it to their advantage. Dream had been walking with Cross and Moon when they used a spell, The Possession. Shortly after, Error, Ink, and Nightmare were sent threatening messages and they met up in a graveyard like the message said. Once they were there, a burst of green light came from underground and the person was there. But the thing that caught them off guard was Dream, Cross, and Moon were there but no longer looked like they used to. They were corrupted, and their clothes were in a darker, more menacing style. They fought shortly after they refused to submit to them. The person lost and The Possession was calmed down in the three, however, that caused it to split itself into unknown amounts and possess random aus.

Aftermath:

After the fight, the three passed out and stayed like that for a few days. One of them disappeared, Moon, but a few things of his were left. Ink took Cross, Error went back to the Anti-Void but was now more paranoid, and Nightmare took Dream. After 4 days, they woke up but their appearances did change. They got bigger, something black was constantly leaking from eyes and mouths. Dark bags were under their eye sockets but they were to their main color. Dream is more yellow/gold, Cross is purple, etc. They helped them out during the day but at night, horrible pains would take over around 8:30. 3 days after waking up, the pains came worse and the animals mixed with other animals or things showed and slowly, their bodies contorted to become what the mark was. They realized that the Possession wasn't gone and it won't be gone for a long time. This has its issues because it can happen at random sometimes. Other things relating to the book summoned other things around the multiverse and became enemies.

How the Possession works:

The possessions are usually vengeful entities that want to cause harm but need a main host/leader. Once they have a leader, they listen to them but are more reluctant to people who want to do good unless they like the leader or ones they personally like.

If they don't have a leader or host, they quickly try to look for one, and the ones they are most attracted to are ones with previous trauma or ones that they deem too innocent or kind to corrupt.

Quick note: There are others like I have said before, Nightmare, Ink, and Error are some of the more key players, the possessed one's siblings also try to help out with them but sometimes create conflict with them.

He was the main target to get possessed/controlled. There are percentages to how possessed someone can be and he is around

- He was created as an "adult" so he never had a childhood, but he has a backstory. He can't remember it, but they have drawn themselves without really thinking about it

- Due to his lack of fear, he's extremely risky and impulsive. He'll just laugh and jump right in

- Their vials can only do so much, as they can only temporarily fill in space for an emotion that one with a soul has. It can form in the shape of what's meant to be a soul in the color of the vial, but it's never permanent

- He'll often stare at others for long periods of time, usually in an obvious manner as he looks at them and their soul. He doesn't feel the need to blink, so it can be unsettling

- When his vials give him the illusion of having a soul, he will often cradle it and stare at it for long periods of time

- He never can run out of liquid inside of his vials, but they can break and this leaves him without that emotion until he fixes it through a long process

- He is willing to experience any emotion, as he just wants to feel it. He can optionally not have any at all, but it's rare he chooses that

- Narcotics do not affect him in any way

- Has an obsessed curiosity for humans, who he knows are capable of creating worlds. It's only the authors, the artists, he actively obsesses over

brute forcing my way into guessing the heights of the six years, a horrible, horrible post

a bit ago on twitter, someone posted a shot from the official animation book that had all the character heights lined up and it had me curious. so naturally, i compiled all my previous notes (yes, i had previous notes on this) and put them together into this rambling nightmare for you to enjoy. all heights will be reported in metric but im adding imperial measurements for ease of comparison.

this is all for fun and all to quench my own personal demons so its probably inaccurate but please let me have this

WITH THAT, let's begin with who I know has a definitive, at least semi-canon height stated somewhere.

GINGIN

In the tsudois (fan-gathering), Amako notes he's the same height at Heisuke at 165 cm (shorter side of 5'5). as a general note the tsudois aren't officially canon unless they later are and sometimes contradict info in the anime and manga, but i haven't seen enough contrary evidence to disprove this.

Shioe Monjirou: 165 cm (5'5)

With that, here's another freebie for me. It's kind of difficult to discern sometimes, but Kema's generally taller than Monjirou for the most part. This is confirmed by the animation book height charts and also by the musical, where he's 3分 (about 1 cm) taller than Monjirou, so I don't have to lose sleep over this much. thank you kenen for making my life easier

Kema Tomesaburou: 166 cm (5'5)

Now onto Isaku and Senzou. The author has ranked the six years by height before, so i'm putting it here because i forgot to earlier.

from shortest to tallest: isaku + senzou (same height), monjirou, tomesaburou, koheita, chouji

referencing the anime imo can be dubiously helpful because shots where the characters stand side by side directly facing the camera tend to be kind of rare so heights can look inconsistent. that being said, i still compiled images for my own reference in addition to the height chart.

from the fifth years vs the six years arc and the orienteering arc.

from shuichirous debut arc. not totally side by side and they're leaning back/forward, but it might be useful

I don't remember if they have an official height stated anywhere, so I just eyeballed this one. the anime isnt super consistent but senzou looks about an inch shorter than monjirou (2-3 cm). eyeballing the animation book height chart if the gap btwn monji and kema is supposed to be around a cm, the gap btwn monji and isaku is just tall enough that I can probably safely say he's at least more than a cm shorter than 165.

for reference, the red line here is rantarou, who is I think 136 cm (4'5). as an aside, the height chart also puts the average six year to be a little shorter than doi, who's canonically 175 cm, so?

ive seen them noted as 162-163 cm a couple times before though but i don't actually know if it's canon or not, but that's already my hc anyhow, so im going to be extremely biased here.

Tachibana Senzou: 163 cm (5'4)

Zenpouji Isaku: 163 cm (5'4)

i didn't expect short senzou actually but it makes a lot of sense...

ROKURO TIME

these two were a nightmare to figure out because i had some trouble finding good shots of these two next to the other six years, so I decided to use someone else whose height i knew: kirimaru.

kirimaru is about 140 cm (4’7) and consistently goes up to a little below chouji's shoulder. chouji looks about a foot taller, so about 170 cm (5’7) or 172 cm (5’8).

to verify my work, i compared the height difference with doi, who's 175 cm. kirimaru goes up to what looks like the middle of his upper arm. or around the dark blue stripe on his casual wear here.

just for fun, i also compared these with isaku and zatto, who's 180 cm (5'11). isaku goes roughly to his neck and there's a 15-20 cm difference, so i think a 30 cm difference between kirimaru and chouji made sense.

Nakazaike Chouji: 171 cm (5'7)

the six years don't have drastic variations in height visually anyhow so i felt this was fair since he's the tallest.

koheita's height is all over the place sometimes. he gets drawn as being shorter sometimes, but i can't tell?

his hair makes him look way taller than he actually is lol. but the height disparity looks pretty similar to 1-2 cm shorter compared to chouji, so that's my ruling because i accidentally spent too much time working on choujis height. dont worry about the details, or something

Nanamatsu Koheita: 169 cm (5'6.5)

And thus, our verdict is as follows:

Senzou + Isaku (163 cm), Monjirou (165 cm), Tomesaburou (166 cm), Koheita (169 cm), and Chouji (171 cm). we did it...

just for fun, I also pulled up the official height charts for them as first years just for comparisons sake and because there's a more obvious difference in height (and also look at them...my children...)

isaku and kema actually look shorter than senzou here though which is interesting (though tomesaburou looks like the same height as him too). imagining rokuha outgrowing senzou at some point and hes kind of a sore loser about it bwaswbashwabwa...

while I was putting this post together, I also found out they have heights listed on the jpwiki...oops. but i thought it would be fun to check my answers.

Senzou + Isaku (163 cm), Monjirou (165 cm), Tomesaburou (166 cm), Koheita (168 cm), and Chouji (170 cm)

Actually not that far off! im curious where the other canon heights came from; is it also in the animation book?? i don't have an actual copy of it, but it would be fun to go through especially because there's references for the other grades.
