No one told me this after I sobbed over The Good Place three times, so I’m here to tell you: there is an 8 episode series on Netflix called “A Man on the Inside” written and directed by Michael Schur, the same person who created The Good Place. Even better, it stars the same actor who played Michael (the demon), who is an lonely old man mourning the recent loss of his life learning to live again in an idyllic retirement home, investigating a potential jewelry thief. The same guy who plays Shawn and Kevin (TGP and B99) is also here, as well as Rosa Diaz’s actress (B99). It is funny, heartfelt, and so far the perfect balm for TGP. Also, you can always imagine that it’s an AU of TGP for Michael’s human life idk. However I’m not done yet so it might also make me cry again

The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother?? Many such questions. I need to go deeper
