OK - some disclaimers:

I've only seen up to season 12, episode? when Jackson and April stupidly slept together again. So my knowledge is based on this and a handful of future episodes I've seen. [I'm quite confident some of the stuff in the future is even worse.]

This is subject to change. Not gonna lie. I dislike A LOT of characters and A LOT of plots, so this could change with my mood or if the pizza I'm having for dinner gives me heartburn.

I want to change "WORST" to "MY LEAST FAVORITE." Why? Because this is my opinion. The people and plots I'm going to mention maybe some people's favorites, and that's their right. I'm not the all-knowing-anything, so just because it's my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions... Telling you in advance many will not like my answers.

My Five Least Liked Characters In no particular order.

Callie Torres. I wanted to like Callie. I did. She's Latina, she's bisexual, and she's not the conventional body type hyped on TV shows. There were so many reasons I wanted to like her. But I could not. She is also whiny, self-centered, and acts like a freaking 2-year-old. Some scenes make my cringes cringe. I almost feel guilty typing this out because now that I do, I realize that describes 90% of the characters on Grey's, but Callie did it really well. To add insult to injury, she was the main focus of that "musical" episode which had me contemplating checking myself in for a psych observation for even watching it. This leads me to...

Arizona Robbins. See above about whiny, self-centered, and acting like a two-year-old. But add to it consistently cheating on the person she's supposed to love. Babe, if you can't stay faithful, find someone willing to be poly. Maybe you'd be nicer that way? Who knows. Now, if not for "Calzona," these two may not have made my top 5. But their relationship was so horribly toxic that it made me dislike them as individuals even more. Sorry. Not sorry.

Owen Hunt. First of all, if you fuck with Christina Yang, you fuck with me. Second, see above about whiny, self-centered, and acting like a two-year-old, but let's add being an absolutely dreadful partner to the list. The way he treated Christina at times just left me slack-jawed (and screaming WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO CHRISTINA! SHE SHOULD KICK HIM IN THE NUTS AND RUN!!!!) I have heard/read that some of his future relationships don't fare much better. Also, and y'all know I'm not a Japril fan, but something about the sanctimonious way he stood there waiting for April when she was saying goodbye to Jackson just made me want to knock him out. Dr. Avery is to be credited for not doing just that.

(God, I can only name 5? I have so many more I want to name!)

April Kepner. I almost went with Amelia Shepherd (I really don't like her either), but I know April better at this point, so I'm going with her. Disclaimer. I'm agnostic. I will also fight for someone to be able to practice whatever faith they wish (SO LONG AS THEY DON'T PUSH THEIR FUCKING BELIEFS ON EVERYONE ELSE... which seems to be an issue... but I digress). I wouldn't say April pushes her beliefs on others, and I respect that, honestly. But every time she talked about "Jesus being sad" because she got railed by one Dr. Avery, I wanted to toss my television out the window. Bitch, God SENT that to you. Take it and give thanks daily, OK? And if not. STOP. Here's where Jackson drove me nuts. Babe, you could have had anyone, and you kept going back to the one who made you feel like you were a dirty disease. STOP. I think one of the BEST lines I ever saw on Grey's was yesterday when she was saying, "God didn't want her and Jackson divorced," and Dr. Riggs pointed out all the horror in this world and said, "I think God has bigger worries than you getting divorced." THANK YOU. BUT...... I might have let this all go. After all, this is a show that thrives on terrible characters, so I could have let it go... but she was pretty dreadful. See above about whiny, self-centered, and acting like a two-year-old, but make that a pious two-year-old. She treated Jackson HORRIBLY (Not me applauding when he asked for a divorce), but of course, she played the victim after that. And not telling him she was expecting Harriet. Unforgivable and not very Christian. So, April makes the top 5.

ONE MORE! THAT IS NOT FAIR!!!!

I have a love-hate relationship with Alex Karev, depending on what Alex Karev we're talking about because character consistency is not a strong suit on this show. I dislike Mark Sloan because I think he was a total pig, but he was entertaining, so there was that. There are tons of smaller characters that I really couldn't stand (I didn't like Reed and Charles, for example, and while I wouldn't wish anyone their death, not even on TV, I honestly was like, "OK so they're off the show then? cool). But... GOD, I really have to pick ONE more. OK, here goes (you're gonna hate me, but...)

Meredith Grey. See above about whiny, self-centered, and acting like a two-year-old. She also had the PB MC syndrome, which is, somehow, we were supposed to believe everything she did was perfect, that she was perfect, and god, she was not. Now, is she my least favorite? No. But I think the fact that the character is supposed to be so beloved and so wonderful, and she was so not, chapped my bum even more.

God, there are so many others that I want to mention, but I'm going to let them go (because I'm Elsa).

After this diatribe... do you REALLY want me to do plots too?

Yeah, but even there, it’s still iffy. I knew someone who told me they didn’t think black people are hot. I found this truly bizarre and immediately came in with the whole “society presents European features as beautiful and other features as ugly or inferior.” Person listened to me, thought about it, agreed, quite possibly appreciated me pointing it out, but…

Or similarly, I hear people telling people who seem somewhat swayed by terf rhetoric to “think about” why they prefer a partner having a vulva to a penis. I’m similarly baffled. Not because I don’t think finding the one person who really and truly just never thought about it is important or worth doing, but because… what do you do with “sure, society says a person with a penis isn’t a woman, sure, that’s wrong, no I still don’t want to involve one in my intimate life?”

Knowing society sends messages isn’t the same as knowing people agree with those messages.

So my position is and will likely always be that you should really only ask this of someone you know well and think you can have a productive conversation with. Otherwise you are just going to either make someone fret about something they can’t change or make them hate you as a purveyor of conversion therapy.

Mention what you think society impresses on people, but leave it very much up to them to consider for themselves whether that’s what’s happening to them. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn’t.

(To pick another one that’s a little less of a hot button, friends told me I was only monogamous because of society. I had one bad relationship I was unhappy in with a poly person and never did so again. Am I sure society didn’t make me monogamous? No, but who honestly gives a shit? The funny thing about this whole “everyone should examine their preferences” discussion is that I’m so sour on the concept because bad therapists used it to try to convince me I’m not really gay or trans.

“But WHY do you want to top instead of bottom even though you have an innie and not an outie? Let’s go over things that might mean to you personally.” When that therapist didn’t ask cishet men why they top.

“But WHY do you feel dysphoria? You have a history of surgeries. Are you sure you’re not just imagining your vagina as a wound, such that you’ll stop thinking of yourself as non-binary once you come to terms with that?”

Sometimes there is no “reason” a person experiences certain things as pleasant or unpleasant.

Sometimes the idea that such a “reason” exists is actually a way of marking those who deviate. Straight male tops are just people being people, but butch enby leatherdykes are Problems that need Explaining.

Hence my first question when someone asks about “preferences” being—why? What hinges on there being an answer to this that people can articulate?

And me being kind of skeptical if the answer is “I want you to prove to me you’ve earned the right to do the thing,” when the thing isn’t actually dangerous and the proof seeker isn’t an established authority on the thing.

you got married to ziggy and sheila and took on sheila's last name. years later, you were pregnant with a baby girl, you couldn't be more happier. your wives argued over the littlest things but either one of them were always there when you were hungry or needed help.

when it was time to give birth, you were nervous but your two wives reassured you that you would do great. after a few hours of painful yelling, struggling and pushing, the baby was finally born, crying as the doctor held her.

“congratulations, you have a healthy baby girl!” the doctor said to the three of you as he took the newborn to go get clean.

you held your hand out wanting to touch the newborn baby but sheila reassures you. “he's just gonna get her clean, sweetheart. he'll be back.” that still didn't help your case but it lessened the worry. after they finished cleaning her up, they gave her back to you. you cooed and rocked the tiny baby in your arms that slept peacefully. you felt tears coming into your eyes as you looked down at the small newborn baby in your arms.

“what should we name her?” ziggy and sheila looked at each other and than looked down at you. sheila said, “how about deena?” you nod your head to the name smiling.

“welcome to the world, deena joan johnson. we promise to protect with our life.” ziggy puts out her index finger and deena grabs ziggy's finger with her small hand. you all coo at the action as deena held onto her finger tighter. sheila kissed deena's forehead, even as a infant the baby had already grown some freckles across her cheeks.

“i'm gonna spoil you so much.” sheila coos at the young baby girl who just lets out a babble. you heard a knock on the door before hearing cindy's voice, “can we come in now?” you laugh at your sister-in-law tactics before sheila answers, “yes you can.”

the door opened and there stood all of your family. their eyes light up at the newborn away in your hands. “meet deena joan johnson.” you introduced the baby to them and they all coo and smile at the baby.

your face features were very similar to josh and deena's. deena got her curly hair and her eyes from you. whereas josh had your beautiful mocha skin. deena got her freckles and personality from ziggy. whereas josh was more like you, a bit nerdy, an introvert, a genius. the mean girl era of sheila passed onto deena, her extroverted side both from ziggy and sheila.

sure it was a little confusing at first to have three moms. you were mom while sheila was mother and ziggy was mummy. the year of 1994, another massacre happened, another shadyside killer was ryan torres.

you couldn't believe what you were hearing, nick goode. your first love; his family was the root of all the killers. from since 1666, sarah was innocent and wished no harm to her friends and family but solomon was selfish.

so here you were now, with your wives, your children, a possessed sam and martin, armed and ready to kill nick goode. rigging the mall with snarky comments that glowed in the dark, the bucket by the hanging tree, tipped with deena's blood to attract the killers. after minutes of running to make sure that everything is okay and will go exactly according to the plan.

you decided to be the bait, nick was still hopefulness in love with you so you thought why not put it to good use. “no! [name] what if you decided to leave us for him?” ziggy obviously went against it seeing that nick was still in love with you.

“no time for arguments, zig. i'm gonna be the bait.” you shushed your red-headed wife. you showed her the wedding ring on your finger, “till death do us part, right?” you joked trying to make the tension lessen, your families' face turned to horror once they heard those words. they didn't want you to leave her so soon, they loved you.

drowning out the silence from the killers, sheila spoke up. “you're not dying on us, [name].” the air was silent after that, no one spoke up until you all noticed that it was unusually quiet for the killers who tried to break out of their restraints.

“he's here.” you realized and your two wives clutch onto you tightly as deena looks at you. “mom. you don't have to do this.” deena tells you but you just gave her a forehead kiss and than josh.

you got up and left, luckily you were here before nick, a few seconds later he walked in the mall, trying to see if that was you. “[name].” he asked still quite unsure. once he was close enough, “nick.” your voice faked with sincereness.

ziggy and sheila watched this interaction from afar with a scowl placed on both of their faces. ziggy and sheila really don't get along 100% of the time but when it comes to you, they're a force that you don't want to be reckoned with.

“what are you doing here?” nick questioned, placing a hand on your cheek. you removed his hand from your cheek in response. “tag, you're it.” you stated watching nick's confused face before pulling down on the rope which had deena's blood mixed into it.

backing away from the scene, watching the paint splattered all over him, you wasted no time, running back to safety. they started to let the killers out of their cages, nick was fresh new meat in a lion's den as he turned every which way seeing killers from each side.

fortunately to your dismay when nick came back to his senses, he ran and grabbed you, holding you in a headlock, the barrel of the gun on your head, “get them away from deena. or your mom is dying with me.” nick shouted, watching the killers' movement as they started to walk to you.

you winced every time he moved, hoping that he didn't accidentally pull the trigger. deena wasted no time as she cut her hand, attracting the killers to her blood not wanting her mom to die.

after that, you wasted no time rushing to safety. when you were safe and secure, you quickly threw off the shirt and slided it to the killers. ziggy and sheila hugged you, glad that you're safe. a few battle plans later, shadyside shadyside was at peace again and you have your families and that was all you needed.

Libri  da cui sono stati tratti famosi videogiochi

Eccomi a voi con un nuovo post, stavolta dedicato sia ai libri che ai videogiochi. Ebbene sì, sapete che alcuni dei videogiochi più famosi sono tratti da o ispirati a romanzi ben meno famosi? E anche che da alcuni bestsellers letterari sono stati tratti dei videogiochi molto meno conosciuti?

La famosa saga videoludica RAINBOW SIX, ha avuto spunto dall’opera omonima di Tom Clancy, per poi svilupparsi però molto più ampiamente e allontanrsi dal tema originale del terrorismo, per arrivare agli alieni.

STALKER (o S.T.A.L.K.E.R.) è un videogioco sparatutto in prima persona  liberamente ispirato al mondo creato dai fratelli Boris e Arkady Strugatsky nel romanzo Picnic sul ciglio della strada, del 1972.

             - Per quanto riguarda il videogioco THE WITCHER, la storia della sua genesi è un tantino più complicata.  Il gioco prese ispirazione da una serie di racconti dell’autore polacco Andrzej Sapkowski, pubblicati negli anni 80′ su una rivista fantasy, dedicati al personaggio Geralt di Rivia. Questi ebbero un tale successo che negli anni 90′ l’autore raccolse i racconti in un volume e poi scrisse anche dei romanzi su quel personaggio e da lì nacque poi anche il videogioco.

 In che ordine leggere libri e racconti in modo da potersi godere la storia nella giusta cronologia dei fatti raccontati?

1. Il guardiano degli innocenti, di Andrzej Sapkowski

Trama: Raccolta di racconto dedicati a Geralt di Rivia, che è un witcher, un individuo più forte e resistente di qualsiasi essere umano, e si guadagna da vivere uccidendo quelle creature che sgomentano anche i più audaci: demoni, orchi, elfi malvagi… Strappato alla sua famiglia quand'era soltanto un bambino, Geralt è stato sottoposto a un durissimo addestramento, durante il quale gli sono state somministrate erbe e pozioni che lo hanno mutato profondamente. Non esiste guerriero capace di batterlo e le stesse persone che lo assoldano hanno paura di lui. Lo considerano un male necessario, un mercenario da pagare per i suoi servigi e di cui sbarazzarsi il più in fretta possibile. Anche Geralt, però, ha imparato a non fidarsi degli uomini: molti di loro nascondono decisioni spietate sotto la menzogna del bene comune o diffondono ignobili superstizioni per giustificare i loro misfatti. Spesso si rivelano peggiori dei mostri ai quali lui dà la caccia.

2. La stagione delle tempeste

Anche questa è una raccolta di racconti e narra fatti avvenuti più o meno in contemporanea ai racconti de Il guardiano degli innocenti, perciò anche se meno fondamentale (non introduce personaggi o accadimenti fondamentali nella serie) se la volete leggere va letta prima dei romanzi.

3. La spada del destino

Idem come sopra, anche questa è una raccolta di racconti, ma questa racconta fatti posteriori a quelli narrati nelle raccolte precedenti e soprattutto introduce il personaggio di Cirilla che era ancora nel grembo di sua madre ne Il guardiano degli innocenti, perciò questa raccolta è molto più fondamentale che non la Stagione delle tempeste.

4. Il sangue degli elfi

Primo dei romanzi lunghi della serie che sono in tutto cinque. E che molto in sintesi vede l’inizio dell’addestramento di Ciri come Witcher e il tentativo da parte di geralt di capire i suoi poteri e molto altro.

5. Il tempo della guerra

Romanzo lungo che prosegue le avventure di Ciri su cui incombe una profezia, mentre Yennefer e Geralt tentano di proteggerla in un mondo pieno di conflitti e sfiducia.

6.Il battesimo di fuoco

Romanzo lungo. L’ordine degli stregoni è stato scardinato e Geralt è stato gravemente ferito, ma non ha il tempo di riposare perchè deve ritrovare Ciri. Per fortuna ad aiutarlo ci penseranno alcuni personaggi veramente interessanti che con lui formeranno un’improbabile compagnia.

7. La torre della rondine

Romanzo lungo. La guerra quella vera è iniziata, e sia amici e nemici cercano Ciri, che per la prima volta nella sua vita, libera da influenze ha scelto per se stessa una strada e ha scelto di diventare una bandita senza responsabilità…ma la libertà ha un caro prezzo.

8. La signora del lago

Romanzo lungo.Ciri è prigioniera nel mondo degli elfi e sa che deve tornare nel suo mondo da Geralt, ma là l’aspetta anche l’uomo che l’ha torturata, il suo peggiore incubo e la caccia selvaggia (e qui vorrei citarvi riferimenti faeries e di Merry Gentry. a manetta ma mi trattengo).

Si conclude con questo libro la serie di Geralt con un finale forte e non del tutto chiuso…triste ma con un filo di speranza, ed è da qui che partono i videogiochi.

La storia narrata nei videogiochi  The witcher, The witcher 2 e  The witcher 3: the wild hunt infatti segue cronologicamente i romanzi.

- Parasite Eve è il primo capitolo di una serie di videogiochi incentrati sulla storia di una donna in grado di innescare una combustione spontanea in chiunque le si avvicini  ed è nato come sequel alla storia narrata nel romanzo omonimo dell’autore giapponese Hideaki Sena. Il libro è inedito in italiano, ma è disponibile in inglese nel caso potesse interessarvi.

Indossa i panni di Jack, Aliena e Philip e cambia il destino degli eventi del libro attraverso l'esplorazione, le tue decisioni e i dialoghi. Inghilterra, dodicesimo secolo: in un'epoca di grande povertà e guerra, un piccolo villaggio inizia a costruire una cattedrale per ottenere ricchezza e sicurezza per la sua gente. In una lotta per la sopravvivenza, vite e destini si intrecciano.

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get? I'm part of so many fandoms so this could be quite long, haha. The ones that immediately come to mind are H*nnigram (H*nnibal) and D*lena (TVD). Also V*ndermorgan (RDR2). Just can't get into them for some reason, even if I can totally see why people would ship them. There are probably others but those immediately come to mind.

Most disliked arc? Why? Oof, this is a tough one. More recently I can definitely say the whole 'Alina losing her powers' thing in S&B - I am still so confused how the three amplifiers meant the Soldat Sol suddenly had her Sun Summoning abilities? Especially since Grisha is something you're born being? Idk maybe I'm just an idiot who can't understand. This doesn't count as an arc, really, but anything of TVD past like s3 is considered non-canon to me (look, Elena wasn't a perfect character but after they turned her into a vampire and made d*lena canon it felt like they were writing a completely different character, and ofc they killed Katherine). And I haven't seen s8 of got yet but the entirety of that I know I'm going to dislike. Ooh, wait, wait, this is VERY controversial but Luke's storyarc in the sequel trilogy? I think I would be more okay with him apparently yeeting off to places unknown post ROTJ and trying to kill Ben IF they had given more explanation besides 'he sensed evil'. Like in ROTJ and the books, the only times Luke came even CLOSE to killing someone was when a) Vader threatened Leia and b) when he confronted the person he thought had killed his wife. Both involved people he loved being in danger/dying as a result. Which in turn leads to my bitterness over the whole Rey's parentage thing - EVERYTHING SCREAMED BIOLOGICAL SKYWALKER/SOLO IN TFA, ESPECIALLY SKYWALKER. WHAT IS THE REY PALPATINE BULLSHIT?!?! Rey will ALWAYS be Luke's biological daughter to me, regardless of what canon says. *cough* sorry, apparently I'm still bitter over some stuff where SW is concerned.

Unpopular opinion about your fandom? For most, it's: why have ship wars when you can have poly? But more fandom specific: -Shadow & Bone: I HATED BOOK!MAL AT FIRST. I grew to like him by Ruin & Rising and ofc we all know Show!Mal is one of my faves but in the first book I was like 'am I really supposed to ship her with either this asshole or the manipulative narcissist? really??' -The Vampire Diaries: S1-S3 was the best, and Elena Gilbert and Bonnie Bennett are amazing characters who got shat on by the writers. Actually let's just throw all the female characters from TVD, now that I can think about it, because what I've heard about s5-s8 makes me go 'wtf???' and so glad I quite like half way through s5. -Star Wars: Rey was originally going to be written as Luke's biological daughter based off of everything the TFA (or at least maybe a Solo) I will fight people on this, and to me she is - and yes, I will still ship R*ylo even though it makes them cousins because hello, I'm sort of in the GOT and ship jonsaerys and also in the SPN fandom. -Supernatural: D*stiel isn't canon and Sam Winchester is one of the best characters. I also flip flop sometimes on how I feel about Dean - I like him and then I hate him. -Walker: Cordell x Geri should not be a ship, at least long term. So the game doesn’t give us much about how Hercule ended up on Guarma except that he got in trouble with some Cuban officials and a throwaway line describing him as a Haitian pirate that is probably more  propaganda than fact, buuuuut I'm 100% running with the concept that Hercule is indeed an infamous pirate with a hidden island base somewhere (think Libertatia), and he uses the resources he amassed through piracy to kickstart revolutions and offer a safe haven to whoever needs one because look at him and tell me that he doesn’t interpret “from each according to their ability to each according to their need” as “I’m going to use my ability to steal from rich fucks to help free the people”. It’s just who he is as a person.

I think before slavery was officially abolished on Cuba in 1886, one of his main operations was getting slaves out and some of them ended up joining him.

His ancestors fought in the Haitian Revolution so he has always believed deeply in his personal duty to stand up against oppression and in the possibility of revolutions to succeed.

Like he might be the leader of his group but he doesn’t have a single authoritarian cell in his body, so anyone who follows him does so freely and because they genuinely believe in him and share his vision. If he can, he avoids making decisions without hearing everyone out first, and if someone doesn’t want to follow an order there’s going to be a discussion but as long as he knows the person in question is loyal to the cause he’d rather let them sit one out than force anyone to do anything they don’t want.

Many of his people never got the chance to learn how to read and he wishes he could teach all of them, but he doesn’t have the time or the peace for it so he settles for reading to them around the fire. Sometimes he reads them some revolutionary literature but mostly it’s adventure novels. He’s good at it too and always gets them super invested in the story. 

He might act casual and relaxed about it but he’s very serious about giving people his word. He has only ever broken it once.

Has a sweet tooth, especially for fruit. He actually loves mangos and tragically this never comes up in conversation with Dutch?? Also puts a fuckton of sugar into his coffee.

He learned to swim about the same time he learned to walk and loves to be in the water.

Has cliff dived off the walls of Cinco Torres at least once and the first time he did it Baptiste and Leon lost it because for 10 whole ass seconds they thought Hercule died before he resurfaced laughing at their dumb faces.

His necklaces are keepsakes, by wearing them he carries the spirits of the people he loves with him.

Speaking of Baptiste, they have known each other all their lives and Hercule trusts him 100% and rationally he knows that missing an arm makes his friend no less capable, but boy does he worry if Baptiste is out on a mission and he doesn’t hear back from him within the previously agreed upon time.

Because it's practically obligatory to write about the sunglasses scene. ;w;

Summary: Bishop, Torres, and picking up the pieces when all that remains is a pair of sunglasses.

                They hadn't been inside her apartment long, but it felt like forever, given the ensuing silence. Bishop had to wonder if Torres were done talking, even, since he hadn't said as much as a peep since bursting on her front steps. At the very least, she'd gotten him inside to warm up.

                Bishop bit her lip. Usually she had plenty of words whenever anyone needed them. But now? Right now? Nothing came to mind. All she could do was continue to glance at the lump of person on her couch while she busied herself trying to make them each a cup of chamomile tea since it turned out she was out of coffee.

                For a brief minute, Bishop internally thanked Torres. Knowing she had him to pull out of a funk, she felt distracted from her own devastation over the loss of Reeves. …but the mere thought brought her right back to their reality and how empty every single room felt without Reeves.

                The kettle whistled, causing her to jump out of skin and back to the present. She poured two mugs, one woefully under-filled, and went to the living room, passing Torres the fuller one.

                He took it and, after an odd beat, mumbled, "…thanks."

                A smile didn't feel right, so she nodded and sat on the arm of the couch. She sipped her tea and finished it long before Torres took his first swig.

                Torres remained on the couch with his knees pulled up to his chest like a little kid. Stockinged feet Bishop didn't mind on her couch, but Torres seemed adamant about not making eye contact with her since pouring his heart out outside.

                Dwelling a little longer on why that might be, Bishop arrived at a conclusion. "I'm sorry," she said into the quiet.

                Finally he picked his head up, and he sipped his tea. "Thanks," he said again.

                "No, Nick, I—" She sighed. "I shouldn't've brushed off the broken sunglasses."

                "No, you shouldn't have." He frowned at her, but, though he looked her in the eye, his expression was rather listless. "McGee brushes things off; he's been around Gibbs too long. But you, Ellie…" And his eyes dropped once again, to his mug.

                She clenched her jaw, wondering what the rest of his thought was. Maybe a reference to how accustomed and numbed to loss she'd become? Or maybe that she'd gone through so much and he thought she'd be more sensitive to the situation.

                Or maybe it was how, after Qasim, he and Reeves had more than been there for her. The three of them, partners—inside and definitely outside the office.

                But a part of her had felt that it was easier to ignore the immediate past now that their threesome was broken.

                Same as Reeves' sunglasses gift to Torres.

                "I really am sorry," she insisted softly, her gaze on her own empty mug.

                Another beat of silence passed, and then Torres hissed a sigh and groaned. "I can't stay mad. I just—staying angry landed me in jail."

                Bishop looked at him. "…I'm glad you and Jimmy are all right, though."

                At last, he cracked a partial smile. "Yeah, I didn't mind having him at my back." Torres stared at her coffee table and jutted his chin towards it, where his sunglasses lay in pieces. "They won't be fixed, you know. I've tried. Like, an insane number of times. Probably did everything except the crazy stuff out of McGee's book."

                She eyed the ruined sunglasses, too; the longer they watched, another chunk of lens fell off a different shattered fragment.

                "…he's really gone."

                "…yeah."

                "Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only one who remembers him."

                Hearing that, Bishop's heart sank. Instead of correcting him, though, she stood and went to her bedroom, pulling a jacket from the back of her closet. She held it gingerly, as if its previous owner stood inside it even now, ready to share one of his big bear hugs with them. But he wasn't, and it hurt to pull this out now when she'd finally done a good job of burying the past.

                Torres paled when she saw Reeves' jacket in her arms. "Oh" was all he had to offer.

                But that eased her annoyance with him, and she plopped down beside him on the couch this time. "I have this piece of Clayton, Nick. I have several pieces of him, of you. But Clay?" She shook her head. "I had to clean up my place a little, otherwise it would be too hard to come home."

                He sank back into the cushions and let one of his legs down. "…I guess that was one way to handle…him being gone." Torres tried to smile, but he looked ready to cry, an expression that made her tear up. "I've got pieces of both of you all over my place, too. That camel-hair coat of his looks so out of place in my closet," he joked. This time, he managed to smile, though now his eyes were shiny likes hers.

                Bishop managed to return his smile. Then she wrapped her arm around his shoulders and drew him close so his head rested against hers. Through contact, she could feel the tension his anxiety had caused him begin to melt away, and her wards ebbed, too. Perhaps it was time to feel everything they'd been bottling up since Reeves' death.

                But, if they felt everything, then what did that mean for Bishop and Torres?

                The circle—Bishop, Torres, and Reeves—was broken.

                Did that mean the line connecting Bishop and Torres had to disappear, too?

                …would Reeves be all right with her and Torres staying connected?

                The thought made her go cold all over. She hugged Torres more tightly and backed off, feeling guilty for such thoughts, for such wishful thinking—

                —but it was hard to chastise herself when she could read that same guilt in Torres' expression, too, from the unsure twist of his lips to the liveliness of realization in his eyes to the debating furrow of his brow.

                Oh.

                Despite being on the same page, Bishop didn't voice the elephant in the room. She and Torres…they were on the same page, but they weren't there yet, not really. And that was all right.

                There was grieving to be done, and be done properly. There were happy memories to relive, and there were gifts and belongings perhaps better relocated to be treasured and not to cause endless heartache.

                But first, there was sleep to be had, and Bishop pulled Torres back to her so they could fall asleep on the couch, him like a scared animal in her arms…until he eventually calmed down, at peace in an embrace they'd both forgotten had been so familiar until they'd lost that one piece of themselves in someone else.

I was listening to Imagine Dragons' "Start Over" when typing up notes for this fic and WOW the feels rly hit me in the bloody heart. ;w; Looking back on that s16 2nd episode, I wanted him to be a little angrier with her because of how they tried to downplay the seriousness of the broken sunglasses; I'm deffo like him in that the smallest things tend to have the biggest meanings, so it's never just the straw that broke the camel's back—smthg serious had to have happened to cause such a mood swing in him. (Not to mention I totally called it, the sunglasses having belonged to Reeves, when I watched the ep with my parents, and it never hurt more to be so damn right about such a detail… Dx) I do have a few OT3s across my various fandoms, but this is the first time I've ever written one that has to continue after the loss of one of the three; I do think they'd continue, but…well, I have minor ideas for a sequel to this, so I think I'll keep mum for now. I also have to say this was difficult to write without having the episode right in front of me, but reviewing an episode summary helped, and I found I liked this story more coming back to edit it a few weeks after drafting it. Thank goodness!

i swear i tried to keep all of these to one paragraph but i like!! to talk!! about my characters!!

matteo shepard is amab nonbinary, he or they pronouns, and is the canon shepard for my no-reapers au. they’re technically a colonist shep, but also super not cause i customized their backstory, my city now. they were born and raised on terra nova with their older brother leonardo and younger brother pietro. when they were twelve, their mom mysteriously vanished without a trace, leaving the family devastated and confused. matt’s dad did his best to raise the kids by himself, but never gave up hope mom would turn up some day, even when the cops concluded she was probably dead.

matt themself joined the alliance after college with a vague idea of maybe being able to find their mom in their travels, but eventually hung up that idea, deciding it was probably unrealistic. they managed to save two others of their squad on akuze, jai landry-torres and roman klein, but privately don’t think they did anything special, and don’t understand why everyone thinks they did. according to matt, they were just lucky, and they panicked, and they blame themself for not being able to save more of the squad.

niazmina khulozai is an earthborn software engineer from afghanistan, who went to stanford and only joined up with the alliance because it was her best opportunity for working on starships. she personally thinks very poorly of the alliance itself, but keeps her mouth shut so she doesn’t get in too much trouble. she’s muslim, and has seemingly no fewer than 3 hijabs for any given occasion. she also has a variety of sunglasses customized and programmed to function exactly the same as the visors you can find in the games, because she hates the hassle of trying to get her hijab to lie the way she wants it to over the visors and it’s much easier (and, in her opinion, more fashionable) to just slide on some cool shades. she’s bi and poly, has a girlfriend katya and boyfriend orion, and they’re all one big happy healthy polypile.

feliks haugen is also earthborn, and is mostly notable for the fact that he somehow just, seems to keep collecting cats. each installment of matteo’s adventures he appears in, he somehow has another cat. he lives on arcturus station when he’s not on the normandy, and there’s quite a few stray animals hanging around, which he feeds, and sometimes the cats just. decide to come in. the big three are jonesy the ginger tabby, who likes to steal oatmeal out of feliks’s bowl and thinks he will someday catch a mouse on the normandy; kitty the caliby (calico, but the patches are tabby instead of solid color, with a lot of white), who is a Shoulder Cat™ and very small; and blackfoot, a seal point tom who mostly hangs out on top of the fridge scowling at everyone and is mostly just an expy of my favorite warrior cat because i can. feliks has hypersomnia, and does his best to keep a normal sleep schedule, but that’s a lot harder than it sounds on the normandy.

zofia wen qian malinowski is the lone spacer, nonbinary, and afro-chinese polish. she’s an adept, and is very good at what she does. as a result of all the eezo exposure, because it’s radioactive, she had quite a few issues at birth, including a hole in her heart and some lung problems that were corrected with surgery. one of the things that wasn’t corrected was her right hand being deformed, with just a nub for a hand with 4 smaller nubs that should have been fingers. she’s perfectly capable of using it as well as her other hand, but she has a prosthetic hand she can control with the nubs for when she needs it. it’s very convincing, and sometimes she likes to just. take it off, to see people’s reactions. she has two pet rats, each of which is named one syllable of the mandarin word for “rat,” as an in-joke with herself because everyone thinks it’s super deep and philosophical when she really just named them “rat: parts 1 and 2,” and that is very funny to her.

gavrail nikolayevhich stoykanov is the butcher of torfan, but it’s not recommended to say so to his face. he’s still very sore about how the alliance threw him to the wolves after torfan, and would rather nobody speak of it in his presence, ever. he had a rough childhood, being jerked around by both sides of his family and only having three people in the whole giant group who really seemed to care about how he felt about the matter and how all the drama was affecting him (his mom, his twin brother dragomir, and his grandmother on dad’s side), so the alliance treating him like collateral the same way his family did really didn’t endear them to him.

he took the matter to udina, who was rightfully horrified and sought help from the big guns (aka sparatus, who as a Good Turian™ was also angered over the alliance’s dishonorable conduct) to go over the brass’s heads and get some laws in place to make sure it wouldn’t happen to anybody else. after that, gav fucked off to omega to be hurt and angry and sad in peace. his therapist before he left recommended he get a pet to help him, so he adopted a dog from a rescue, a cream standard poodle named foxtrot who had been abandoned by her owners when she wasn’t a tiny adorable puppy anymore. he felt a kindred spirit kinda thing for her. by 2186, she’s been officially trained and registered as a therapy dog, and he affectionately calls her his “war poodle.” he has a big crush on kaidan, but is too socially awkward to say anything, but then cortez comes on board and they bond over similar experiences with loss and trauma and the alliance not getting them therapy, and they get together so it works out.

michaela schulz is a jewish trans woman, and the hero of elysium (or whatever the war hero title is, they give shepard so many monikers that all sound the same i can’t keep them all straight...). she started her transition after the blitz, so sometimes there’s confusion from reporters, but by the time of me1 most of them get informed before they talk to her so they don’t ask any rude questions. she has a wirehaired fox terrier named skippy, who she adopted so she could have a jogging partner, and he likes to curl up in her lap while she’s doing computer work after he’s gotten his fill of exercise for the day. she gets with kaidan (after skippy gives his approval, of course), and they adopt a few kids together.

taniria arterius is the 17yo (in 2183) daughter of desolas arterius and valis abrudas, special no-reapers au exclusive oc. she’s cute and energetic, but she knows more about her family’s situation (her parents both suffering severe ptsd and her dad fighting alcoholism, to summarize) than she lets on. while her family themselves never pressure her, and in fact encourage her to be whoever she wants to be, she does get a lot of pressure from the rest of society to live up to her parents’ and uncle’s legacies, and it makes her very anxious. she just wants to be a singer and make people smile. she’s very curious and likes to be helpful, even if there’s not a lot she can do. also she’s a lesbian

Beni Culturali Diocesi di Bergamo La storia e la cultura bergamasca attraverso gli oggetti prodotti nel corso dei secoli dalle comunità cristiane del territorio. L'archivio contiene i beni culturali mobili ecclesiastici di tutto il territorio della Diocesi di Bergamo ed è costituito da oltre 270.000 schede e circa 280.000 immagini digitali.

Sistema bibliotecario della Regione Lombardia Il Polo regionale lombardo vede la partecipazione di 82 biblioteche di varia titolarità e 3 sistemi bibliotecari urbani con oltre 500 postazioni di lavoro collegate e numerose postazioni a disposizione del pubblico. L’OPAC del Polo regionale lombardo SBN comprende materiale antico, moderno e musica, e, in misura per ora ancora limitata, collegamenti a risorse digitali.

Biblioteca Digitale della Lombardia La sezione consente l'accesso a un primo nucleo di documenti inerenti territorio, storia e arte della Lombardia. I documenti disponibili appartengono al patrimonio librario di cinque istituzioni: Biblioteca Civica Angelo Mai di Bergamo, Biblioteca Civica Centrale di Monza, Biblioteca Civica Ricottiana di Voghera, Istituto per la Storia dell'Arte Lombarda e Ufficio Biblioteche della Provincia di Brescia.

Catalogo del Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale Il Catalogo SBN è la rete delle biblioteche italiane promossa dal MiBACT (Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo), dalle Regioni e dalle Università, e coordinata dall'ICCU. Vi aderiscono attualmente biblioteche statali, di enti locali, universitarie, di istituzioni pubbliche e private, operanti in diversi settori disciplinari (oltre 5.600 a giugno 2015). Le biblioteche che partecipano a SBN sono raggruppate in Poli locali.  

Catalogo dei periodici italiani Il sito del Catalogo Italiano dei Periodici ACNP è un progetto che ha avuto origine negli anni '70 su iniziativa dell’ISRDS-CNR per realizzare un Archivio Collettivo Nazionale dei Periodici (da qui la sigla ACNP). Dal 1988 il Centro Inter-Bibliotecario (dal 2011 Area Sistemi Dipartimentali e Documentali) dell'Università di Bologna cura, in collaborazione con il CNR, le procedure gestionali on-line e l'OPAC del catalogo.

Catalogo Libro Parlato Lions Il sito del "Libro parlato Lions" è un servizio totalmente gratuito che - da oltre trent'anni - mette a disposizione di tutti i suoi utenti la propria "AUDIOBIBLIOTECA" interamente costituita da libri registrati da "viva voce"; un "service" della grande tradizione dei Lions, i "cavalieri della luce per i non vedenti", come li ha denominati la cieca Helen Keller alla Convention Internazionale dell'Associazione Lions del 1925. Possono essere utenti tutti coloro che non possono leggere autonomamente: ciechi, ipovedenti, persone anziane con difficoltà di lettura, disabili fisici e psichici, pazienti ospedalizzati, dislessici.
