This is the post where I admit I have a psychonauts 2 future au in which everything is normal except mythological creatures, aliens, etc are real and many hide as humans. This au is about how some of these characters would deal with the reveal and the secrets their friends and family have been keeping from them.

I’ve largely built the world as a separate original story but it’s a perfect playground to throw these characters in. I couldn’t help myself.

Iiiiiii get a little scared me going off on long tangents in replies will scare some rp partners away. On the other hand, I love digging into a muses thoughts and emotions and especially for someone like Bruce, he has a lot going on in there while he also doesn’t typically say much unless he’s out actively socializing. It’s a strange thing where I’m still trying to find a comfortable balance or way to write both the Bat and Bruce, while making them sound like the same guy and also different, without smacking my head into a wall and overthinking things too much.

the way that from all day's today is the day my internet connection is wonky af and let today be the one day i wanted to actually sit down and write. the joke lit writes itself. it's so annoying bc my spirit, mind and body are for once ALL willing 🙄 i don't like writing on my phone tho but i am saving my thoughts in my notes before i forget what i wanted to write for my drafts 😭 bc that one good idea comes once and if i don't write it down it's gone in 5 seconds flat. can't even watch my shows in peace. can't play my games. lit forced to acknowledge the row of books i never bothered to read ...

Also, a warning that I'm going to stop being available as much on Tumblr mobile as I'll be deleting the app off my phone for some time starting by tonight.

I've been pretty stressed out in ways that have started to affect my mental/physical health and I have altered my sleeping pattern dramatically just to keep blogging. Most of my time is spent on my laptop, so I'll still be online and available to thread and roleplay during the day and will be retiring to Discord chatting/rping in servers in the night hours, but I do need to do this until I feel a bit better.

also, while i do incorporate SOME things about striker's portrayal in season 2 (notably that he's more irritable and snappish when he's not purposefully putting on the charm), i really don't LIKE that the only character in the show who's actually been shown to give much of a damn about the wider social structures in hell was suddenly portrayed as like a power-hungry overly-violent sadist (as opposed to his first introduction, where he's thrilled to take a shot at the goetia but not particularly OBSESSED with causing pain and making their lives miserable or doing anything beyond proving that imps can be just as strong as any other demon), so that's why you're not going to be seeing much of that from me at all.

... So in my time not sleeping since 4 AM yesterday (yeah I never got that nap. Insomnia sucks), I've been rewatching a retrospective of the old Sonic comics in semi-preparation for the Multi-muse that will launch... eventually. Which gave me an idea that I think I'm going to commit to.

I'm gonna read all of Archie Sonic.

But not just that, I think it'd be fun to make an adventure out of it, read a new issue each day and chronical my thoughts on it on the new account when it launches. Because in spite of how big of a fan I am of the character and his world, I've never actually read the biggest part of his history. I've seen chunks of it through the new waves of Retrospectives, and I did try to get into a few times before it got cancelled. Once during the Reboot Post Mega Man crossover (gotta read that too, I've been getting more into the Blue Bomber lately), once during the sequel to that crossover which I sadly never got to finish (even though it was awesome but the library I was borrowing them from didn't have the second half available), and finally once a few months before the end, picking up the Sonic Archives starting with the Sonic Adventure arc. I actually managed to buy a few of them, as well as the two issues of Sonic Mega Drive which I just ADORE

But the thing is... this is a lot to go through, and I mean a LOT. The comic released over 500 issues during its 20+ year run, in varying degrees of quality. And while I do want to tackle all of it eventually, including the fan made continuation which I've heard good things about, I think I'm going to need to take it in chunks if I've got any chance of finishing it.

... also gotta watch SatAM because I've never seen that either.

So, you might be wondering why I'm even posting this here. Well, I'm indecisive and I don't know if I should start from the beginning, start from issue #160 where Ian Flynn took over the book and it actually gets good, or if I should start in the middle with the Sonic Adventure stuff like I had tried before.

And instead of just flipping a coin on it, I'm just gonna let you guys decide!

... And before you ask, I'm not touching Knuckles yet. I'm not ready for Knuckles.

I love the Octavinelle manga for giving Jade more expressive icons 🙏 Though the way he bounces between the 1st style to the 2nd and 3rd, and then the glow up in the 4th makes me wanna ask questions. He's a crazy bitch and icb Im going to have written him for 3 years soon.
