“Do you know you have to think about other options too, right?” The producer asks him. The giant camera is way too close to his face and the producer is sitting just under it - in a little stool that looks utterly uncomfortable. Soonyoung wanted to face her, but she begged three different times to stare right at the camera. He is sitting so still that he can feel the energy accumulating on his body, making him almost quick in his seat.

“I am not interested in that,” Soonyoung answers - staring at the camera and trying to not blink too much even if the lights of the studio hurt his eyes. 

“But the point of this program is that you are open to dating other people and letting her date other people as well,” the producer insisted, and Soonyoung almost laughed. He knows that, for fucking sake he only got his date because he is a master in rock paper scissors and his ex went on a date with fucking Junhui. He knows the point of everything, he just doesn't really care.

“Like I said, I am not interested in that, my goal with this,” He tries to explain, using his hand to point at everything, the set actually looked way better on camera and it was very flimsy in real life, and every time he thinks he will break a fake wall. “Is that we get back together,” he grins confidently, “Sorry pd-nim but we will get back together before this end.” 

He hears the producer groan, he is pretty sure she shouldn’t be groaning and this won’t go to the final cut. He thinks the audio people will handle it, they probably will put a fade in music or whatever, they are professionals.

Yes I do ^_^ I am actually very well versed in a lot of Japanese music (mostly pre-2000s stuff though)! The folk-rock movement from the late 60s in particular, I really love. I have a special interest in the group of musicians who formed Happy End (in 1969), and all of their future collaborations & collaborators... (most notably Yellow Magic Orchestra). Also from Happy End, I love everything Haruomi Hosono has done- his solo work is so so so good. I could talk about his work FOREVER I love it, and every collaboration or band he's been in. He really is a musical pioneer & a genius... I love this live performance from him so much. I could talk about Hosono's work for hours!!!!!!! I love all of the genres he has explored. I even put Happy End's Kazemachi Roman album cover in Be Kind, My Neighbor...

I also really really like Shintaro Sakamoto's work (& his work in Yura Yura Teikoku), it has a similar vibe as the previous work I mentioned, but more psychedelic.

I also LOVE the group TAMA. They are so unforgettably unique, I absolutely love everything about them. I wish if my art style were to be translated into sound, for it to sound like them...

Why would Mohg even want Miquella?

He wouldn't need to be empowered or appointed by Miquella, as he was already sponsored by an outer god. He wouldn't require a consort to help him with any specific tasks to achieve lordship either, unlike Rykard. 

It's not even so innovative for a non-empyrean to side with an outer god directly, without the need of using an empyrean as a god vessel. Rykard and LoFF were on similar paths, directly tapping into the main sources of power, which, if you chase power, would be the best deal you could get in the lands between.

He wouldn't need Miquella to win the formless mother's approval, as she wouldn't have bestowed power upon Miquella anyway.

By her standards, the golden child loved by many, the "unalloyed", would not be worthy of her favour. In fact she has only ever considered an omen who was tortured and imprisoned since birth, and some subjugated and enslaved tribal people, worthy. She never even shared her power directly with Mohg's followers - none of the blood affined ashes of wars or incantations referred to her - nor did dynasty members worship her necessarily.  

A common misunderstanding is blood loss in battle is always an offering specifically made to her, but by that logic the cleanrot knights with halo scythes, Jerren with flamberge, imps with hatchets, the virgins and Ghiza with their wheels, the omen killers, Yura, Morgott, Malenia… could all be accused of following the formless mother because their weapons were efficient at bleeding enemies dry.

The thing is, weapons are made to hurt and kill, and bleeding and wounding usually does the job. Hemorrhage is simply one of the status effects in ER that represents one of the outstanding techniques to harm and shouldn't be automatically taken as an affiliation with the formless mother. Unlike sleep, madness and death blight, which are explicitly associated with a certain power source.

In fact, the descriptions of blood oath skills and incantations expressly said that they were created and granted by Mohg to share his own power with followers. They then channelled his power to perfect their own skills and invented new weapon arts personal to them.

He wouldn't need Miquella to attract followers. After all, he was the only demigod who used his great rune to bless his comrades. 

He wouldn't have any reason to try to somehow shove the formless mother into a flesh shell. We knew she "desired a wound" specifically from both sacred spears and bloodboon ritual, which were all related to how her children may pierce her formless body with the spear or an arm, for her to rain down flaming blood on their enemies.

It's quite obvious that, literally speaking, the wound her children created when they called upon her was the one she craved. She must stay formless to protect them this way. It wouldn't make sense if she just resides in a massive, solid body that floats above them, nor would she desire such an arrangement. 

Nothing ever said she demanded offerings from her children and I don't think we should assume that's the case. It was entirely her children’s own choice to reciprocate, offering any bloody battles to her. Blood was simply one of the things that could be taken as an offering as it contains power in this world.

According to Lord of Blood's Exaltation, the offerings were made specifically to Mohg instead of her, and specifically, made for Miquella’s awakening. 

An "age of blood" led by a god vessel wouldn't have worked, as the relevant outer god was a passive protector, providing guidance in most extreme circumstances - and perhaps only if people were lucky enough to find her. She didn't actively seek out worshipers: Mohg came across her deep underground, potentially when he was desperately lost; bloodfiends saw her when they accidentally glanced through the corpses of their ancestors.

She never desired to lead or control - bloodflame was her gift to Mohg, and it was entirely Mohg’s decision to distribute his strength and run the dynasty, just like how it's entirely the bloodfiends’ decision to keep the power within their tribe and not to set up any organisation. 

Mohg's plan, making a "dynasty", was distinct from making an "age", exactly because his faction was intended to be led by non-gods. Age is for gods to manipulate, whereas a dynasty is a man made kingdom. This is not to say it'd be a peaceful sanctuary free from cruelty, but that no matter what age it is, which god is in charge of the grand design, he wished that it would stand strong, everlasting, in its own corner.

It would align with Ansbach's final advice to us - be a lord, not for the gods. A lord for mankind wouldn't necessarily be healthy, but it would be something new in these god driven lands. 

Mohg's Remembrance made it very obvious that "raising Miquella to full godhood" was his goal, and "becoming Miquella's consort and lord" was the way of achieving said goal. He wished to be Miquella's consort, and a lord befitting the god Miquella would be, because he wanted to help Miquella ascend.

If it was intended to be the other way round, it would have literally been worded the other way round. 

The DLC doubled down on this by telling us Miquella used Mohg's power to enter the shadow lands, to ascend via the gate of divinity. It makes sense that Mohg would be the only one who could help because, Mohg, as an omen, represents both the oppressor (hornsent pre Messmer) and the oppressed (omen and hornsent post Messmer). Miquella, as an empyrean, the spitting image of Marika, also represents both (the oppressed shaman, and the oppressive crusade and golden order).

Mohg and Miquella together therefore resembles the vicious, endless cycle of abuse across both lands, the hidden, metaphorical “wound” to which the formless mother would be drawn, and the buried truth of which she would be keen to reveal to them as its mother.

Cruelty has always been the truth behind righteousness and glory. The portal must be drenched in blood, to match the blood spilt on the other side. 

Therefore even though Mohg may have no need for Miquella, ultimately, Miquella needed the two of them to be united as one, in flesh and blood, in order to go to the LoS. Personally I don't believe Miquella had such knowledge all along, otherwise why bother embedding themselves in the Haligtree?

Either way, no matter the reason behind Miquella's want, in order to get him Miquella must strike first, as otherwise Mohg would have no compelling reason to approach them. 

Based on what we know, Mohg shouldn't have loved or revered Miquella at all.

Asking him to lend a hand to the golden child of the golden order should have been an insult. Calling Miquella his dearest should have been a severe case of low self-esteem but that's not him. His great rune was literally soaked in his devout love towards the defilement he was born into, or in less discriminatory words, he was proud, prideful even. He fully accepted the crap cards he had been dealt with and turned it into power instead of feeling insecure and self loathing for his unfair birth.

It would take lots of love, or an exceptionally strong charm (which I'm not sure Miquella could quite conjure) to get past his disdain if he was just asked to plead loyalty to someone who had been treated way better since birth under the same wretched system just because they were lucky enough to have been born as a member of the oppressor race in their day and age, unlike him.

Miquella was pained also for their own reasons, but it could not be compared to the sheer scale of soul crushing horror he had experienced since birth.

Many have concluded based on Morgott's Remembrance that Mohg was also never loved (by Miquella) yet he loved (Miquella) nonetheless. But the thing is, just like their great tunes, they are similar but supposed to complete each other instead of being exactly the same.

We do know that formless mother loved him and she answered his calling and granted him a second phase right in front of our eyes. We know he loved her back, devotedly, in return for her favour. He had only loved in a reciprocal manner, as opposed to Morgott’s love that was selfless and not in return. He would not just go out there and take upon himself the duty of a protector, unlike Morgott.

The difference was he eventually found a mother who considered him worthy, and Morgott didn't. 

So I could only imagine that Miquella had reached out to him and done something significant for him that was so endearing on a personal level to have convinced him that Miquella truly understood his suffering, and they deserved his love. Abandonment by parents is the greatest betrayal one could experience. Miquella must have reassured him that they were not and would not become Marika, and he would never be betrayed by them.

This is not saying Miquella must have intentionally deceived him. 

If love was Miquella's weapon and Trina was Miquella's love, did she also dull Mohg’s senses and grant him velvety sleep?

Was that how Miquella enchanted, travelling into dreams as Trina, bewitching the dreamer when their defence was low, and slowly drowning them in the quagmire of her sweet oblivion?

Mohg's heart was also cleansed, more or less, by such love Miquella wielded. It is terrifying because, it's the doubt and distrust towards Miquella that would be plucked away first and foremost. From then on, everything about Miquella would be pure, and good, and right.

Miquella must have loved him first.

Hi sorry I just sent the ask about the first mention of Kamiki's involvement in Gorou's murder! I might have read your post wrong, I am very sleepy and English isn't my first language... Nevertheless I wanted to add that, although it was confirmed that he was there with Ryosuke pretty early on, I don't think it was ever made clear what he actually did. (Much like Yuno's murder.) Akasaka definitely made a point of having him standing in close distance to murders while someone else doing the work, though.

Is Kamiki being at the hospital a change to the manga though? I vaguely remember that it was mentioned that on the day of Gorou's murder, a colleague student (Ryosuke obviously) was there with a boy around middle school age, and that was the first time in the manga where we had actual confirmation that Aqua's theory of their father being an older guy is false.

SO the reason that shot of Kamiki being at the hospital and explicitly with Ryosuke was so huge to me was because the manga as of late almost seems to have implied a retcon in that regard - Ryosuke and Nino are shown at the hospital while Kamiki claims to have never gone and based on the way the manga visualizes it, I do believe him. So part of what we were waiting to see in this episode is whether or not Tsukuyomi specifically saying there were two men would be changed - and not only is it retained but the anime doubles down on this by adding a visualization of teen Hikaru with Ryosuke that we never see in the manga - just two vague silhouettes.

The fact that Kamiki had access to Ai prior to her calling him and yet he never attempted to harm her prior to her actual death is always part of his character writing I think is really fascinating and something I wish the story had drawn more attention to & interrogated at all. This gives me hope the anime will actually do that - especially since, as caught by Lace, the anime version of Yura's death shows that Nino was the one to actually push her. Thus, the question of wtf was even going on there is seemingly being set up to be answered in the OnK anime.

"Never Again"

Soo-hyun, Su-ho and his wife, Yu ri are in attendance. Yuri held Soo Hyun's hands tightly. The funeral service has ended. I was an intimate one with only selected and close family and friends were invited and present. It has been 3 days since the terrible day her Mother died. While she was visiting Goon wu, Seon Yul came and they ended things. They ended their relationship. Soo Hyun believes part of the reason her Mother died was this is some sort of punishment to her for having a relationship to the son of the man she killed. No matter what Seon yul told her, she wouldn't listen anymore.

Soo Hyun looked at her phone, a text arrived. "I am here, let's talk. I promise not about us but about Kim Joon". Seon Yul was there, looking at them from afar. He doesn’t want to make a scene. He doesn’t want to make things harder for her. They have broken up and he has to accept and live with that. But his love is greater than hers. He wants to put an end to this, no matter what he will save her. "It is time to go, sister"..Yuri said. Then she saw Seon Yul and nodded, understanding the situation on hand. "I will see you, later" she added.

How are you doing? Seon Yul asked. Soo Hyun hesitantly answered "I am fine. Let's talk about Kim Joon". She doesn't want to answer him honestly, for the truth is she wants to throw herself to him and cry. She cannot do that anymore. She doesn’t want to be weak in his eyes. She made this decision. It is better alone. Just her. Seon Yul continued and said "I know what you are thinking. Don't do it. You told me once that revenge is death upon its door already. It will ruin you.". I am dead already, Seon Yul. What is there for me now? I lost the one thing I want to protect., she replied. As much as it hurts him to hear that her Mom is the only one she things she wants to protect, it doesn’t matter and he as always, understood. Family first, that is her motto. "He killed my son, and now my Mother. What else will he take, huh? She is angry and it is driving her crazy. Seon Yul wants to comfort her but his feet won't move. He knows the boundaries now. So, he does what he does best. "Let me do it. Let me seek justice for you, again. Leave it to me. Or we can work together, one last time, Soo Hyun. I promise, you won’t see me again after this are all over. I am sorry for causing you pain. That is the last thing I want, you know that. Just don’t do it. Let me help you. Like the way you helped me. Don't ruin yourself for that evil monster. All Seon Yul wanted to do at this moment, was wash away her tears, her pain, her hurt and kiss her, caress her face, hug her and just be there for her but he cannot anymore, not the way he wanted. He respects her too much to force her into considering her decision. The day ended and they planned to meet again when things get settled.

At home, Soo Hyun still can't believe her Mom is gone. She went to her room and saw the pictures. She touched the photo frame and kissed her Mom while sobbing and putting it in her chest. Her world has been shattered again. Yu-ra entered the room and saw her. She hugged her and they both cried. Meanwhile, as the night goes by, they decided to watch the TV. "In other news, the Mother of the famous but embattled author and Professor, Eun Soo Hyun has died and has been buried today. Of course many of you knows the scandal she is facing right now. Kim Joon has appealed his case saying both Soo Hyun and Seon Yul planned his downfall for their relationship to prosper as lovers", the anchor said. The channel is her ex-husband's employer. Before she can curse, Yura threw the remote control to the screen and shouted "What the hell? Signaling to call So Hun to demand an explanation of what they just heard on TV. "When will this end? Soo Hyun said, in a whisper. Then, she cursed and shouted again "when will this end?" I cannot take this anymore! She broke a glass and wounded herself. Numb of the pain, she couldn't care less.

For weeks, So Hun, Yura, Seon Yul joined forces once again for Soo Hyun's case. They meet at the orphanage, sometimes at So Hun's office. The backlash is massive especially for Soo Hyun. She has no job now, same with Seon Yul. Both were forced out. To the frustration of many, it seems they believe that things like what they had, their relationship was still a taboo and that even if they continued, they would never be at peace. Four of them dig dipper onto the case once again and presented the reasons why Kim Joon doesn’t deserve to have a parole. So Hun used her platform in exposing Kim Joon again on his TV show. Adding, "Soo Hyun and Seon Yul are two people who are bounded by their trauma and experiences. It is not our business who they become and ebcame to each other. We live in a harsh society. Harsher to these people rather than real criminals out there. We need to change". Inside the studio, Soo hyun was there and they hugged each other after the show.

The next day, is the day of reckoning. The case will be heard and a decision will come to place. Kim Joon looked at Soo Hyun with his evil smile and smugness. Very confident with the system he once held on to power and believes the sentiment of the people was on his side. A decision has been made. The Judge decided there will be no parole and change in his sentence. Soo Hyun and company was so relieved, they cried and hugged each other. Seon Yul as always, was far back, watching Soo Hyun smiling again. His heart was breaking that for weeks, she wasn't able to smile. Kim Joon can't believe what he heard. He lashed out at the Judge and suddenly, his chest tightened, and he collapsed. He was then rushed to the hospital.

One by one people left the court until there was only two. Seon Yul and Soo Hyun. "We did it", she said with a smile in her face. "Yes, we did. So, this is it? It is all over. He replied. She nodded in agreement. "I am here to say goodbye, Soo Hyun. As promised. I am leaving, maybe for good this time. I need a break. Some fresh air. He arrived early in the morning. It was a good thing it was the same apartment he was in. When he arrived, there was suitcases in front of the gate. Standing, smiling was no other than the love of his life, Soo Hyun. " I heard you need a roommate. I am here to apply, she said. The Katsuki-Nikiforovs Take Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Test

I'm such a huge sucker for writing post-canon Viktuuri content involving media appearances, and absolutely love Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Game series, so writing my new fic about Yuuri/Viktor filming an episode (with Phichit/Yurio/Otabek also present) was such a blast!

Chapter 1 features Viktor's turn in the hot seat, and Chapter 2 will feature Yuuri's turn (plus some very relatable Reddit content of their fans reacting to their episode)

Below is an excerpt that I hope will pique your interest in this or my other Yuri!!! on Ice stories!

“Is your name Viktor Katsuki-Nikiforov?” Yuuri read off of the page, aiming for an impassive tone.

However, the smile that crept over his face was involuntary; how else was he supposed to react when Viktor’s heart-shaped one immediately emerged?

“I am! During my very happy engagement, I was just ‘Viktor Nikiforov’, but life got exponentially better when I married my soulmate back in April 2019 and got to add on his surname,” he smoothly replied, after which Phichit and several of the filming crew members loudly awww'd.

In contrast, Yura gave a very put-upon sigh, followed by a mutter of what sounded like “Jesus…it’s already begun.” (And out of the corner of his eye, Yuuri thought he saw Otabek laughing at his best friend’s dismay).

“Good answer, lyubimiy,” he responded, blushing and feeling fond. “Moving on…are you thirty-two years old?”

A small pout immediately formed on his spouse’s lips, and when he answered, his voice sounded sulky.

“Unfortunately. A veritable fossil, as my much grumpier student makes sure to remind me every day,” he replied, jabbing an accusatory finger in Yura’s general direction.

The Ice Tiger exchanged a smirk with Otabek and they both laughed.

Having fully expected Viktor’s forlorn tone, Yuuri grinned but otherwise chose not to comment; if he really did state everything that flitted through his head over the course of this game, he and Viktor would be here all day and end up missing their group dinner reservation at Casa Limone: a restaurant that Celestino had personally vouched for when Phichit had reminded him about the trip.

“In addition to being the best figure skater in the world, are you also a skating coach and choreographer?”

Viktor’s reply was immediate and exuberant.

“I am! A skating coach and choreographer to two extremely talented athletes, that is. But given that I’m retired, I don’t know about being ‘the best’ anymore,” he said, before surveying him, shrewdly.

Yuuri had a sudden sense of foreboding around what his husband was about to say, and wondered how possible it would be for his blush to deepen even further.

“My Yuuri is the reigning Olympic Champion in Men’s Singles figure skating, as well as a 3-time World Champion, and a 2-time Grand Prix Final Champion!” Viktor crowed, looking directly at the camera and holding up 3 fingers on his right hand, and 2 fingers on his left. “His quad flip and quad lutz are better than mine ever were, plus he continues to have the most stunning spins and step sequences in the field!”

“He’s telling the truth, he really does believe that you’re the best, Yuuri,” Funmi confirmed, making Yuuri feel the urge to hide his head in his hands.

More cooing cut through the air, and he decided to offer a counterpoint.

“I know he’s not lying and that he actually believes that, but Vitya will always be the best, end of story…sorry to everyone else in the field, including our very good friends,” he commented, dryly, with a glance to the side at the spectating trio. “Oh, and he’s also wrong about my quads.”

Holding a hand up when Viktor made a clear attempt to retort, Yuuri hastily rushed onwards.

“Continuing on with the last calibration question,” he firmly announced, “are you married to me, Yuuri Katsuki-Nikiforov?”

His rebuke seemingly forgotten, his love positively beamed . In response, Yuuri couldn’t resist stretching his hand across the table so that they could interlace their fingers.

“Yes! Very, very happily so, luchik,” Viktor earnestly answered, hunching down a bit to press a kiss to his wedding ring (causing the seemingly unruffled Andressa to direct a very dreamy expression their way, which made Yuuri giggle).

“Is anyone else feeling horrified right now?” Yura loudly interjected, prompting Kariesha and Otabek to let out highly spirited laughs. “For God’s sake, those were the calibration questions . This thing hasn’t even kicked off yet!”

Phichit’s commentary couldn’t have been more different in tone.

“I know, isn’t this excellent!? I already have like 4 different sappy clips for my Instagram reels!”

Yuuri ignored the two of them in favor of kissing Viktor’s hand in turn, and didn’t bother to lower his voice when he reciprocated his spouse’s tender sentiment.

“Likewise, Viten’ka,” he replied, smiling warmly at him. “Getting to call you my husband is the absolute best part of my life.”

The chapter title is Happy End! Well, not for Hikaru. He's so broken we don't even see his face

The framing of this as the end of Ruby's revenge is interesting but um... what revenge? We haven't seen Ruby thinking about revenge since she lost her black hoshigan. This would hit a lot harder if Ruby had done anything lately to show she cared about revenge

It's a real shame because Ruby's lines in Ch 115 when she was doing the impromptu audition with Frill and Akane gave me chills

I still dream about the day my mother died, even now... will everyone I love end up dying?... I want to go to where everyone is. I want to die too. That's powerful stuff! Of course she would want revenge. But then she realizes Gorou is alive and everything is fine again (??)

As for Ruby's forgiveness, unfortunately that happened off the page (sadly that's become a running theme lately with how rushed things feel to me). Her conversation with Hikaru in Ch 147 is the closest we got to seeing her make that decision

And what exactly did she do in her acting to deliver that forgiveness? I'm tired of being told about it, I want to see it

I'm not sure why Ruby was chasing after Hikaru in this chapter with double black hoshigan if she was all set to forgive him but  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, none of that matters because Miyako is back, hugs are back, Aqua is crying in his mother's arms and... OK BUT WHERE WAS MIYAKO UNTIL NOW? WHY DID YOU FORGET HER, AKASAKA? Never mind, sorry, this was an adorable moment

Chapter 1: Falling into another world

"Why are we out here again?" Leona sighed walking into the deep woods with everybody from NRC

"Becauuseee! We decided to go out camping like a family! And Lilia's the dad! And Riddle's the mom!" Yuu smiled as she pointed at Lilia who was floating and giggling and Riddle making a confused expression "Why am i the mom...? What gender roles are we pushing here?" Riddle facepalmed which made everybody giggled

"I know their probably thinking i'm like the son, but i'm not. I'll be the gay emo cousin" Idia smiled jokingly

"I will be the son! The hot shot! Who's only dream... is to be a star" Deuce chimed in

"I feel like i'd be uhhh... fresh out of jail uncle?" Ashton shrugged

"And i'm the sassy aunt, who talks sh*t about everyone" Vil smirked looking at himself in his mirror

"What are those tattoos they have near their butts-" Ruggie pointed out, making Yuu laughed at what he said

"Those are called 'cutie marks' it's what kind of talent they have based on the appearance of the mark"

The ponies all looked at them wondering what kind of creature they are but just shrugged it off, some keep staring, suddenly there was faint sounds of bouncing was heard, as they all turned to see a pink pony with curly hair and a balloon cutie mark which was blue and yellow.

This probably meaningless but i think a comparison we can draw between kazui and amane is that Kazui has stated that hes seen by his family as a disappointment and Amane is seen as like the ideal good child. I'm probably making shit up but yeah 👍

I was just discussing the overlapping similarities between the prisoners. Specifically in reference to how they answer the family question. Shidou and Kazui both answer it in a way I find incredibly interesting that leads into the validity of your statement in my opinion.

Prisoner 002 Kashiki, Yuno: Grandpa, grandma, mum, me, younger brother←Yura.

Prisoner 004 Kusunoki, Mu: Papa, Mama and Mu.

Prisoner 005 Kirisaki, Shidou: Wife and two children.

Prisoner 006 Shiina, Mahiru: Papa, Mama, Mahiru.

Prisoner 007 Mukuhara, Kazui: It’s only me now.

Prisoner 008 Momose, Amane: It was my father, my mother and me.

Prisoner 009 Kayano, Mikoto: My mother, me, and my younger sister. My sister’s a blossoming high school student.

Kazui and Shidou both use their marriages/found family or current status within the family to avoid elaborating on the structure of the household they were raised in. Which was one hundred percent the question and others have answered it accurately including Mikoto who we all know doesn't even live with his sister or mom anymore. So, these two just chose to give answers that were convenient for them.

The way they answered makes them the only people in Milgram we don't know the sibling status of yet. Even Amane is alluded to being an older sister through the credits of Magic but that could be a status given to her within the structure of her religion.

So, we don't know if they were raised by single parents or both if they have any younger or older siblings or a twin. Because they've willfully chosen to omit that information by focusing primarily on the households, they've created not their family overall.

Something that in Shidou's case is understandable given he's paired with Mahiru and both of their stories focus on romantic love. So, there being a focus on his marital relationship makes sense in context of his pairing.

It only gets weird when one takes into consideration that the Shidou we see in Throw Down working in the hospital has a mole on between his neck and collar bone. An area that the Shidou in Milgram is conveniently always covering by wearing a turtleneck or some sort of shirt that keeps the area where that identifying mole is hidden at all times.

Going as far as to sleep in a fucking turtleneck in Throw Down for this reason.

Plus, the one time it's alluding to him doing doctor shit it's conveniently shot from an angle where we wouldn't be able to see the mole anyway. Since it's on the right side of his body and we are seeing the left side. Not even touching on the fact that the likelihood of having twins increases if one is a twin themselves and many have speculated the children in Triage are fraternal twins.

This trend of showing this mole off and then covering the person that area when the character that is undoubtedly Shidou is shown continues throughout Triage.

Made even worse through this scene where we see Shidou reaching out to a guy we know isn't him because both of their hair is a different color they are wearing different clothes- And if those two things aren't enough.

Triage expressly shows us they have different fucking haircuts as well.

All something that will remain highly speculative simply because when asked his family structure he conveniently omitted having any parents or siblings and simply focused on his marriage.

Which is better than Kazui who uses the concept of being disowned to omit having any family at all. Yet conveniently mentions his victim was his wife now. Unlike Shidou who at least answered the fucking question even though he scratched it out.

Which is even weirder since the Kazui is paired with someone who's entire story is deeply rooted in familial issues and yet we know nothing about his family. We don't know if he was raised in a two- or single-parent household if the family that he states views him as a disappointment are his parents, in-laws, siblings, cousins etc.

Hell, we don't even know if Hinako was being referred to when in his statement about family viewing him as a disappointment. But we have to assume she is because she's the only fucking person we have confirmation of being his family at any point in time. Even if that confirmation is tentative at best.

We know more about his childhood friend than his family background and nobody seems to have questioned that.

Overall, I don't think you're making shit up or reaching, but we have so little information on Shidou and Kazui's families that pursuing this train of thought is damn near impossible. It's made even weirder for Shidou because he states this in his second written interrogation.

So, his family was greatly involved in him getting into this relationship but he just omits them because technically they're not apart of my immediate family structure anymore. Speaking of, I know I joked that they've learned what worked with Shabriri from Mico (themes of eyes and insanity + "ascending" by mass sacrifice), but actually Navlaan too, if not even more so?

Navlaan says that the sorcerer was looking for new forms of magic but instead "created" him, which does have the vibe of accidentally ending with split personality during experiments (Jekyll and Hyde vibe), however, description of Scraps of Life says this:

An esoteric spell created by Navlaan, the infamous exiled sorcerer. Awakens the souls of the long-buried dead. The heretic Navlaan was executed along with his entire village, and the mere utterance of his name became a crime. Some say it was because he sought to restore the banned art of resurrection.

Basically bro used to be his own person, existing probably long before this sorcerer or at least independently, and was another victim of cancel culture dshfdshjfsd So, the line "But instead, he created me" would mean sort of rebirth by possessing this sorcerer. It is not direct possession as in, controlling the body as a puppet, but neither a personality born from within the 'original' person (typically from dark and repressed emotions). But it is a secret third thing; say, he barely had recollection and semblance of his original self after death, so completing the otherwise almost-blank state and filling the gaps from what was lost with the memories and feelings of the host is as good as being born as a new person.

And it IS kind of like Shabriri, too! Except, Yura is certainly no longer present in the body, whereas the original sorcerer still appears when the player is in the human state to beg them to stay away for their own sake. But Shabriri also 'adapted' to what Yura used to be, like suddenly being able to fight the same way as him (with the only addition of Frenzy incantations), and Ronin Set is described as "armour of man that calls himself Shabriri".

As for Navlaan, some of his grudges seem like they came from the sorcerer rather than his existence within this vessel, and he unknowingly carries them out. He also describes the sorcerer as "naive" when he is pretty much naive himself now; he simply trusts that we killed people just because we bring their things! Also description of Chaos Set says "Robe worn by a chaos sorcerer. He calls himself Navlaan, now", so whereas original sorcerer's name is never learned, it is probably now abandoned and not relevant as Navlaan 'overrode' the original. Again, really interesting concept of two people that become an amalgamation upon merging (that I tooooootaly didn't use for what happened with Logarius and the King, and that is toooootaly not what likely happened with Aldrich after he ate Gwyndolin.......)

+ Also cool thing that Shabriri and Navlaan both messed with something forbidden and forbidden for a good reason, and both were incredibly hated! Shabriri is "the most reviled man in history" and Navlaan was so hated that you could not even mention him! I am sorry for bringing this topic often but I just really like to analyse how Fromsoft invents 'a type of a guy' and reuses blueprints later without being unoriginal about it, it is just fascinating

Kamiya: Personal Story 1

Kamiya: ……Haah, I really like the smell of this hand soap. I end up taking longer than usual to wash my hands……oh? Shinkai-san?

Soyogu: ……

Kamiya: (......He sleeps like a warrior.)

Past 3 am. In the short time I’ve been away from my seat, Shinkai-san has fallen asleep sitting up with his arms still crossed, exactly as I’d left him.

Shinobu-kun had greeted and mounted the bed with an “I may be inexperienced, but I look forward to working with you”, and he’s currently lying spread-eagled, sound asleep.

A little while ago, Akehoshi-kun said “I think I might need to have a word with the floor over here” before lowering himself down and falling asleep like that. I look over at him next and smile a little.

Kamiya: (I guess we went pretty hard today too.)

Taking care not to make any loud noises, I slowly start to tidy up the table.

Something small rolls and falls off.

Kamiya: (? Ah, Shinobu-kun’s ring. Right, he took it off when we were thumb wrestling and left it here so he wouldn’t lose—) !

When I stand up to put it on the desk, the tip of my foot nudges Akehoshi-kun’s leg slightly.

Akehoshi: Nnnaah……? ……Ahh……Kamiyan……?

Kamiya: Sorry for waking you up.

Akehoshi: Mm-mm. I kinda feel like I had a dream just then.

Kamiya: What kind of dream?

Akehoshi: I dove into a suuuper big takoyaki, and then in the middle of it there was, like, a takoyaki ball pool.

Kamiya: We were talking about takoyaki before you fell asleep.

Akehoshi: Yeah, that’s definitely gotta be why. So I thought, well ain’t this an all-you-can-eat, and started munching……But just when I realised there wasn’t any octopus or other stuff inside, it suddenly went pitch black.

Kamiya: Huh?

Akehoshi: And then I realised, “Oh, I’m the one gettin’ eaten.” The punchline is that the ingredient was me. Kinda comedic, ain’t it?

Kamiya: More like the best horror story I’ve heard recently.

Akehoshi: Thanks to you, I avoided the worst part of it. Ya helped me just when it was gettin’ dangerous. However can I repay ya?

Kamiya: Ahaha! Well then, how about we tidy this up together, and then get Shinkai-san and Shinobu-kun into the beds?

Akehoshi: Man, you’re always thinkin’ of others, huh. Ya should let loose and get more drunk.

Kamiya: It’s fine. I always have a ton of fun.

Splitting the work between us, we finish tidying up in no time and head outside to avoid waking the other two.

Akehoshi: Ahh, it’s freezin’……Yura might not be able to wake up tomorrow if it’s like this.

Kamiya: It's pretty hard to get out of bed now, right? But I like this wintry air quite a bit too.

Akehoshi: Yer the type who feels refreshed by the cold, huh.

Kamiya: Yeah. Haah. It’s chilly, but it feels kind of good, so maybe I’ll go for a little walk and sober myself up.

Akehoshi: A walk……phew. I might join ya, then.

Kamiya: I appreciate the offer, but your voice already sounds half-asleep. Don’t worry about me and go back to your room.

Akehoshi: I am tired, but if I crash out now, I’ll probably just see more takoyaki. If it won’t be a bother, let me come with.

Kamiya: Coming here at night feels kind of new.

Akehoshi: Do you come here at other times?

Kamiya: Pretty much every morning, since it’s on my running route. And then I come back again a few hours later.

Akehoshi: Yer amazing. I definitely wouldn’t be able to keep up the early mornings or the running. I’d take a break one day and my streak would end there.

Kamiya: I totally get that. The fact that Urara’s there too is a pretty big part of why I’ve somehow been able to keep going.

Akehoshi: Ohh, I see. You go running together, right? We live in the same place and work at the same shop, but I don’t really get the chance to see Urara-kun much.

Kamiya: Want to come running in the morning with us? You can see him every day.

Akehoshi: Ahh, here we are. The view from this place is real nice.

Kamiya: Ahaha, I’ve been rejected.

Akehoshi: Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I don’t want to meet him.

Kamiya: I know.

Laughing, I stand next to Akehoshi-kun, who’s come to a stop at a random place.

We’re in the park, which was just the right distance away for a walk. I gaze out at the scenery that we can see from the hill and take a slow, deep breath like I always do.

Kamiya: ……This might be my favourite place in Shibuya.

Akehoshi: Here?

Kamiya: Yeah.

Akehoshi: It wins out over Aporia and HappyDough?

Kamiya: Ah, wait. Now I’m not sure.

Akehoshi: Ahaha! Why here? Do you like high places?

Kamiya: Hmm. I’ve never climbed anything that high, but I guess I like them. Doesn’t it make you excited to think that you’re closer to the sky than normal?

Akehoshi: Kamiyan, yer the kinda guy who suits the sky. Especially the blue sky.

Kamiya: Never heard of that before. I think you suit both the blue sky and the night sky.

Akehoshi: I dunno about that. If we’re talkin’ ‘bout people with a night sky vibe, Kyoya-san or Haruhi-san come to mind.

Kamiya: How about Kiho-san?

Akehoshi: Nah?

Kamiya: So he’s different, then.

Akehoshi: Kiho-san doesn’t have a twinkly, shiny vibe. His face is a radiant beauty, though.

Kamiya: Twinkly and shiny?

Akehoshi: Like twinkle twinkle little star, and shine bright like a diamond, you know?

Kamiya: Ahh, stars……

Now that he mentions it, I think as I look up at the sky. But although morning is still far away, I can’t find anything shining there.

Akehoshi: Well, that’s the big city for you. The buildings are way brighter than the sky.

Kamiya: True.

The twinkling, shining city, stretching far into the distance.

Kamiya: ……

Just as I’m thinking about how beautiful that scene is…

Suddenly, I feel a twinge. And then, a dull pain inside my head.

Akehoshi: ……Kamiyan?

Kamiya: Watch.

Even if you were the only one in the world, as long as you were on my side, I could jump.

Freer, higher, than anyone else.

(Beep)

???: Why weren’t you watching properly? They took such good care of you. That’s why I told you to stop. Because of that nonsense… This is your fault. Yours. You…

???: …How can you have the nerve to live on?

(Ker-chak)

Higher, higher. So that you’ll be able to hear me.

Kamiya: ……I’m sorry.

So that this hand will never reach you again, no matter what.

Don't hesitate—just, jump.

Akehoshi: Kamiyan.

Kamiya: Eh?

Akehoshi: ……You good?

I hear Akehoshi-kun say my name in a kind yet unusually firm voice, and I turn towards him.

Kamiya: (.......Huh. Just now……what was that?) ……Yikes. I might’ve fallen asleep standing up.

Akehoshi: Impressive. Your eyes were still open, too.

Kamiya: Seriously?

Akehoshi: For real. I called out your name a few times. If ya didn’t respond to the next one, I was gonna shake ya.

Kamiya: Sorry. I don’t know why, but I think I had a dream just then.

Akehoshi: A dream?

Kamiya: Yeah. I forgot it when I woke up, but…

(Wind blows)

Kamiya: ……

Akehoshi: Well, it happens.

Kamiya: Yeah……

Akehoshi: ……Let’s head back, Kamiyan. It’s pretty here, but it’s chilly. We’d better not stay out here too long.

Akehoshi says that softly, then smiles. I smile back and nod in response.

Kamiya: Shall we?

Under the sky that neither twinkles nor shines, we chatter on about trivial things as we return the way we came.

The unceasing wind continues to blow.
