18. Share the scene you just wrote, written from another character’s POV.

Oooh, that’s very interesting. The last scene I wrote is a confrontation between Felix and Gabriel, and I chose the POV very strategically. Let’s unreliable-narrator this bit, shall we.

“Watch your tone, Felix. Remember who holds the reins here.”

“How could I forget.” Trixx echoed his snort, revelling in his riot. “I’ll let you in on a secret, Uncle: none of what you are doing serves your family. Terrorising the good people of Paris is simply your vocation.”

“Silence!”

The order was a clap of lightning, a gunshot fired into the darkness; butterflies scattered with a rustling of wings, taking their feeble glow with them.

When Uncle grabbed his collar, Felix refused to look down.

“Your father obviously raised you wrong,” Hawkmoth spat, teeth baring into a growl. “But you live under my roof now, and things are going to be much, much different. Do I make myself clear?”

Silence. The child refused to bow down, blood boiling from disgust.

“I said,” Uncle repeated, breathing down his face. “Do I make myself clear?”

Still no words: Felix’s chin tilted upwards, pointing to the bump under his glove. With an irritated huff, Hawkmoth let go of the collar — and of the command.

Kill the Lights by Set It Off: I actually titled one of the fics in this series after this song! This AU relies a lot on masks, secrets and illusions, so it’s the perfect fit.

Ruthlessness from EPIC — The Ocean Saga: you already know this one! I was listening to it on loop during the holidays when suddenly it hit me. The final twist in this AU exists purely because of this song.

Thank God I Do by Lauren Daigle: this one was actually recommended by @trishacollins a while back! I am physically incapable of not hurt/comforting the cousins.

As you all know, last August I opened a cafe (a.k.a. my cafe themed writing challenge). The response to that was so wonderful and I adored hosting it and reading every single one of your entries, and I'm thinking it's time I host a new one! ♡

This time I decided to rent out a private theater for all of us to sit and have a movie marathon! This writing challenge starts today and closes on March 30th! I will be traveling the last week of March and it would be the perfect time for me to catch up on reading all the entries (since I read & reblog every fic submitted). A lot of people have asked to send me things to read or requests for writing. I LOVE when people send me these things, but just a few boundaries:

No MCD

No incest

No illegal age gaps

No noncon, in any sense

No EDs, SH, or SI

Advice/Ask Boundaries:

Please do not ask me:

Advice about sex (how-to, positions, etc)

Personal topics like my own intimate life, my own personal information (IRL name, names of family members, etc)

Topics that I am not educated on, or do not have a right to give my opinion on. While I am happy to talk and give advice about LGBTQIA+ issues, I am uncomfortable sharing my opinion on issues that I am still working to learn about, because I don't want to spread false information or be unintentionally hurtful. Also, since I hold a lot of privilege, there are certain topics that I would rather amplify the voices of others about, rather than taking up my own space.

Writing Tips:

Write a lot.

Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!

2. Try microfics!

Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!

3. Find people to write with.

Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.

4. Be gentle with yourself!

This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.

5. Write down your ideas.

Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

Dude i just realised that tumblr must've been eating my asks for MONTHS like why bro T_T

FATHER HELP TUMBLR LOCKED ME OUT OF THE HOUSEEEE-🦊

Gosh, I'm afraid Tumblr is only partly at fault here. I have indeed confirmed that some asks never make it through, but often times I just never get around to answering some things. 😭

I currently have ~400 inbox messages. Unless I respond immediately to something, it continues to pile up. Now, I do try my best to scroll back frequently and respond as much as I can, but the matter of fact remains: I am a terribly introverted individual with limited social battery. Some days, no words come out.

Just a little reminder for everyone that I'm genuinely not ignoring you on purpose or out of malice, I'm just awkward as hell and I don't always have the energy or time to convey my gratitude into words. Whatever you see is only a small percentage of what I actually receive. :')
