❦ I feel like in a modern au Abs would definitely choose a field that requires a lot of hard work(cause in the game also she overworked herself), so she's either a doctor or a construction worker(;)). I feel like she wouldn't want to choose to be a neurosurgeon like her father, bc as much as she admires his work, she doesn't want to be compared to him and she grew up with it, she wants something different. So her going into orthopaedics seems pretty reasonable.
❦ As for the lunch thing, I could totally see you making her lil lunches<3 She is careful about what she eats cause she wants maintain her muscled appearance, so she doesn't really go for the cafeteria food. Therefore, you make a habit of cooking food for the wife™️ every day. I imagine you getting one of these cute bento boxes and cook her some chicken, rice and salad the night before and set it up all cute<3
❦She'd always love it when you cook her food from your culture/country of origin also🥺because baby loved everything about you and wants to feel closer to you any chance she gets. In my country there's a lot of emphasis on fresh, unprocessed food so I imagine you growing a little garden outside your kitchen with fruits and vegetables, the works.
❦ Don't forget about dessert also-cooking a big tray of something like brownies or a batch of cookies on Sunday nights and put in on her lunch box with a note that goes like "finish your vegetables before you devour dessert!" or "eat lunch first, dear<3" . Bonus points if you kiss the note and get lipstick all over it.
❦ Maybe a coworker of hers notices one day(probably Manny cause he's the only one able to confront her about it) and goes up to her with a shit eating grin while she's eating it like "Damn doc, maybe that wife of yours can cook me up a lunch or too like yours sometime. She forgot to draw a heart on your brownies though." And normally if it was someone else she'd be pretty pissed off, because HOW DARE THEY mock the lunch her amazing, breathtaking wife worked so hard to make. But it's Manny so she knows he's just fucking around. SO Abby's like "Oh shut up Manny. You're just wish you had a girl who wants to make you lunch every day."
❦And truthfully she's extremely grateful for it, it's one of those things that reminds her why she married you, you care for her so much and cooking for her shows you look after her in one of the most vital, intimate ways possible. In the end of the week, once she comes home from work and sees you cleaning dishes in the sink, she walks up to you, leaving her little lunch box on the counter and wraps her big, beefy arms around you, while she whispers in your ear.
"I didn't thank you for lunch this week. I loved the cookies a lot.", and you can feel her breath slightly tickling your ear, the pads of her fingers toying with the hem of your shirt.
"It's alright Abs, I like making you food. You need to stay fit, big girl.", you respond, while you turn around and run your hands down her biceps.
"Hmm, thank you so much for caring about my health babe, or maybe you just like that your wife is packing such heavy guns under her shirt, huh?" she teases. You can't deny though, you love her figure. You can feel her hands on your hips as she tenderly lifts you on the counter, and you sigh happily.
"Yes Abby" you roll your eyes. "I'm soo thankful I have such a strong wife. It is quite beneficial at times.". Your hands ride up her shirt, cupping her firm, silken breasts. She exhales all wobbly, you know how sensitive her breasts are. But you know your little game won't last long.
She doesn't respond, just leans her face into yours so your noses bump and smiles. She quickly makes light work of your shirt, tossing it on the floor and goes for the button in your jeans next, as you help her by raising your hips off the counter. In one flawless motion, she has removed both your jeans and underwear, tossing them off with your shirt. Once the bare skin of your ass makes contact with the marble of the counter you shiver, and Abby brings her girthy palms to rest under your buttocks, warming up the skin there and slightly groping it.
"Lemme thank you for lunch. You are always so good to me. My pretty, little wife". She raises one of her hands and gently runs her pointer finger where your folds part, making you gasp. Your hands reach to her behind and cup her firm ass. "Alright." you whisper into her ear, as your eyes roll in the back of your head.
She then kisses a line from your jaw to your belly button, leaving sloppy, open mouth kisses where the drool from her mouth remains visible on your skin. You could only wish it would imprint on it, immortalising Abby's passionate mouth loving on your body. You shudder as you feel her delicately kissing your pussy, rubbing her tongue on your feminine lips as if she was making out with them. Her tongue teases the sensitive flesh, as the nerves in the most sensitive part of your body are abused by this wonderful, wonderful woman. You let out small, staccato moans, and your hands reach the flesh of your breasts, cupping them and toying with them deliciously. Abby continues the barrage on your cunt, licking up your clit as the room is filled with the sloppy sounds of sopping flesh.
You sit there, helpless but to take it, as you feel the coil inside you tightening up from the lovely tongue of your wife. You suddenly feels as though a band has snapped, and you are overcome with heavenly, internal bliss as your orgasm washes over you like a wave. Abby guides you through it, leaving soft kissing on your cunt and whispering "That's it baby, come like a good girl". Once it stops, you can feel her rising up to kiss you, her tongue rubbing yours in small circles as she lets you taste your salty tang.
"Mmm" you let out a soft giggle. "I'm so grateful I have such a caring attentive wife.", and she makes you gasp as she her fingers come up to your sensitive folds, dipping her hands into your hole and spreading your juices all over your inner thighs. You let out soft moans at the overstimulation but allow her to continue the assault on your cunt nonetheless, as she thumbs you clit gently, watching it twitch in between your legs.
"Damn right you are, baby. Wanna take this to the bedroom?" She leans into you and leaves a kiss on your ear lobe. "I'm not through with you yet." you don't reply just yet, because you know she still wants to have a go at you, and she will no matter what. You grumble a small yes at her as she picks you up bridal style and moves you to the bedroom, kicking your discarded clothes out of her way.
What could she say? Abby lives to please you, and you live to please her. And both of you are thankful for having each other to help whenever, whether that is with lunch and everything the other person needs.

the thing is. why bring Rose back for this finale. she didn't particularly do much other than standing around and looking pretty. I assume there'll be more of her for the second part. I stand by my original assertion from the star beast that it doesn't make sense that she can just 'give up' the alien DNA she was born with. my point back then was that it would be fun if she could regenerate, and ended up becoming the timeless child herself, thus making the Doctor's entire existence a very fun paradox AND also canonizing the 'half human, on my mother's side' line from the 8th doctor's movie (my beloved) (because Donna was only half human whether she knew it or not).
HOWEVER.
all the susan-baiting is really getting to me. I want our weird little granddaughter back. they canonized the fact that the Doctor doesn't actually know who her parents were. and I REMEMBER. that Susan's original gallifreyan name was Rose. well, their language's equivalent of it. that's how Rose Tyler got her name, it was meant to be a cute little easter egg, the first classic companion and the first new who companion sharing a name. so walk with me. the weird girl daughter of Donna Noble, who grew up on earth but never fit in there, who has the Doctor's DNA woven into her being, and access to a yardis, and can in this scenario regenerate...coming across a younger version of the her father/uncle, introducing herself as Rose (which translates to gallifreyan, I really don't feel like looking up the spelling rn I'm sorry it started with an A), the doctor can recognize her- as family, he thinks, not knowing its a spark of him, their shared mind. she knows about how risky spoiling the future would be, she doesn't know if he has siblings and he looks older than she's ever seen him, so she says she's his granddaughter instead of his niece. daughter. him. she's part time lord. she lives longer than her human family. the Doctor is all she has left and she wants to be with him even if it isn't a him that knows her yet. she's heard the phrase 'timey wimey' before, and she's a smart and careful girl. she finds she doesn't fit in on gallifrey any more than she ever fit in on earth. the Doctor knows exactly what that feels like. they travel. when her human friend renames her Susan, she likes it a lot. feels like when she changed her name the first time. freeing, empowering, becoming. feels like the new name fits her new life better. Rose has a long dead family but Susan has her grandfather. the part of her that is her mother and father, though, still craves human connection. the love and fascination with humanity that she inherited from the Doctor is still there. she tells him all about humans and he takes her to visit them more and more to humor her. she ends up fostering his love for earth that will one day define him AND lead to her creation. she accidentally coins the name tardis the same way the doctor will accidentally invent a banana daiquiri a few centuries too early. he just thinks she's creative and silly. a very dear child. odd and bizarre to her classmates at school, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was the first time around. sometimes she even goes to see a younger Wilf. he's somehow exactly how she remembers him as an old man. she's so grateful they're in the 60's though, because if she ever has to look into the eyes of a Donna Noble who didn't know her, she thinks she may actually die. but the Doctor- he IS enough. he is still part of her, part of her mother, even if he doesn't realize it. she can't help but worry over his health, even knowing he lives long past this, because she got so used to helping his older self in his retirement. she knows him better than he knows himself. she'd do anything for him, and she knows he'd do anything for her.
she just never thought leaving her was something he'd do, though.

think rachel needed the hire a bunch of writers instead of drawing assistants after season one so she could focus on one part and not get burnt out while someone else kept track of and developed all her plot points in a lore Bible or something
Honestly yeah, LO is a huge example of why the Webtoons' editors don't actually function as editors, more so just messenger pigeons between the creators and the company who are there to make sure creators are following ToS and otherwise answering questions on behalf of the higher-ups for the creators. And this is especially wild for something like LO because 1.) you'd think the #1 webtoon on the platform would be given all the resources it needs to succeed, and 2.) LO's editor in the end was Bre Boswell who actually has a background in television writing (and yet ironically, the series only got worse after Bre suddenly replaced the previous editors around Ep 100).
Rachel's strong points have always been in conceptual design and illustration. Despite this, LO's own iconic design and illustration aspects that made people fall in love with it in the first place were lost after it became as big as it did. I know folks will argue that LO's production was purely the fault of Webtoons' insane deadlines, but her writing has always been her weakest point and that's evident in all of her previous works prior to LO. She's good at coming up with standalone ideas - again, concepts - but executing them and finalizing them through an actual conclusion beyond the initial idea is always something she's struggled with.
This is also apparent to a point in her art as well, as much as her strengths used to be in illustration and conceptual design, she also clearly struggled in staying committed to the same character designs and concepts for long periods of time and was never good at coming up with efficient ways to reproduce her own art - even gorgeous comics like The Doctor Foxglove Show started off strong just to inevitably slip into the same habits of inconsistent half-assing that LO did, and it wasn't even an Originals series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back to the writing though, she absolutely would have benefited from having another writer or two on her team, but unfortunately she also doesn't seem like she's aware of her own faults in her writing or willing to let anyone else in on her process, especially considering she's even admitted that her own writing process is "chaos" and has supposedly convinced herself that the faults in her writing are a good thing.
Tumblr media
There's "embracing the chaos" of your own process (my process is chaotic too, I get it) and then there's just going "oh well, sucks to suck, I don't want to bother doing better for the sake of my own dedicated audience so it's fine if I totally whiff the comic's plot".
The reality is that if you've never learned how to identify and break your own bad habits, you'll inevitably think that those bad habits are the norm and/or are what makes you good at what you do - all the while, you wind up missing what could have actually helped you. Rachel started off on a very strong foot with the concept of LO, but then inevitably fell into the exact same bad habits she had with previous works but was now enabled by the contract and money and fame she got through Webtoons to never change - after all, if she was going to keep being rewarded Eisners and merch deals anyways regardless of the quality of her writing/art, what point would there be in improving? From my perspective, she clearly doesn't really have the integrity to improve for the sake of herself and her audience, so as long as the end result is to her benefit, the means don't really matter.
Of course, in the long-term it makes for a very horrid legacy especially in hindsight, but as far as I'm concerned, she got what she wanted regardless.

omg hello my favorite writer!
now that we know how doctor abby x reader, we gotta know the lore with loser!ellie <333
hello my favorite girl! here is the origin story <3
ellie's in the middle of facetiming jesse (they call each other during their lunch breaks every single day, they're like each other's human version of a youtube video to eat with) when she sees you walk behind him, notice his phone and lean down to flash her a quick smile with the cutest wave she's ever seen and then promptly disappear. ellie flinches and straightens her back. her hand shoots up, holding the phone at what she thinks is a more flattering angle than the way she'd been holding it basically on her lap before. but you're gone before she could even wave back.
jesse raises his eyebrows at her pale face. "did you just realize you have to shit or something?"
"shut the fuck up," ellie hisses, her voice in a rushed whisper even though jesse is wearing headphones and you're clearly not around anymore. "who was that?"
"what? oh," jesse introduces you by name, says something about knowing you from high school. "she started working here like a month ago, so that's been fun."
ellie can't believe that he's known you for that long and hasn't mentioned you once before. "what the fuck is wrong with you?" she asks him. and she'll keep asking him periodically for the next several months— which she spends stalking your instagram, squinting her eyes at the background behind jesse everytime he calls (in case you're there) and casually visiting him at work when she's feeling bold.
she has her first real conversation with you one summer when you're both at a party on some guy's backyard. you compliment her jorts and tell her she's funny and ellie thanks god that she's just drunk enough to be cognitive and herself but also not overwhelmingly aware of every single thing that's happening. she leaves with your number on her phone (oh my god) and your gloss sticky on her cheek (oh my god????)
i'm sorry to say that you don't actually kiss until at least a whole year later though!! ellie's convinced that you just wanna be friends and she loves being your friend so so much, she wouldn't change it for the world! but also she does think about kissing you every night but she won't even hint at it until she thinks that you might be interested.
and she's really so fucking good at hiding it! ellie can be sneaky and i think we should talk about it more. like you don't even know if she fucks tbh but she has to be fucking, right??? she's so hot?? there has to be someone and she's just not telling you about it. it's not until you know her really well that you realize she's more open with you than she is with most people in her life and if there was someone she would tell you and now that you think about it why does she always always always make time for you, that's crazy!! what does that mean!!! you don't know because she's insane and doesn't register the way you look at her with hearts in your eyes as anything but friendly, so she's determined to respect your wishes and keep being your friend. you definitely end up kissing her first. it's worth it though <3

4th December

"Are you sure we won't get caught?"
Cassandra's hushed concern laced with irrational excitement got Taehyung snicker under his breath. He briefly glanced over his shoulder, seeing her wonderous gaze as she was leaning in to try catching a glance of what he was doing.
"Not if you keep watching for any prying eyes," he countered with a smirk, causing her to mumble a muffled 'okay' into her scarf and returning to stand guard as she trusted him for some naive reason. And he continued shortwiring the alarm system.
Her eyes briefly wandered down to the colourful beige-brown-yellow pattern of wet tiles beyond the canopy, which covered the backyard of Casa Batlló. Quickly heaving them again to look around into the rainy afternoon, ensuring no one was seeing them indeed.
Usually the building and the integrated museum were open till late, 10pm, every day. However, that day and the next it was supposed to be closed for some minor renovations. Cassandra had mindlessly mentioned that as the two had passed by in search for a place to await the rain. Neither one having an umbrella. She hadn't expected him suggesting to break in, knowing it was one of her favourite buildings in the city, clearly joking and not actually meaning it. And she surely hadn't expected herself to agree despite knowing it was all tongue-in-cheek.
Feeling an unknown thrill and rush while standing there behind the fence now, shielding his thievery skills while he worked on the rather simple security system - as he claimed.
"Thought your friend was the master thief," she giggled then over her shoulder before redirecting her focus to their surroundings.
Taehyung only huffed at this. "Doesn't mean I don't have some aces up my sleeve, too." A cocky smirk audible in his voice.
A shiver crept up under her pink woollen coat then and she wondered if he wasn't cold at all with his rather thin coat, which was even left unbottoned. Simply unable to comprehend how someone wouldn't feel the need for a scarf in the with humidity spiked coldness of the city.
It was the middle of winter after all, also meaning it got dark earlier and the rainy clouds surely quickened the process. They still got some time left though. Which unfortunately also meant someone could still see them, despite the possibility being low considering the downpour.
Besides, Cassandra was also uncertain if all the other neighbouring buildings weren't inhabited like this one. She knew the one on the right was something like a parfum museum. The ones on the left looked a lot like office buildings. But the rest around the backyard? No clue.
Before she could voice any of her concerns, however, she heard Taehyung's triumphant cheer. And he got up from the electrical panel, cracking open the backdoor with ease. Holding it wide open for her to hurry inside and observed all nervousness wash away from Cassandra's face the further inside they stepped. Her brown irises big while they looked around the colourful tiles and curves. Their footsteps echoing against them in the empty silence.
"Come, this way!" she beamed with excitement while gripping her backpack tighter and he followed her through the posh dining room to a corridor, until they reached the entrance hall.
The place evoked an underwater environment with its white and light blue. They began climbing up the staircase then, past the lightwell which distributed the air and light that entered through the main skylight on top. Also completely covered in tiles of shades of blue, with more intense colour in the upper part and lighter tiles at the bottom.
There was a strangeness to seeing all those high-built exhalted rooms and spaces deprived of any presence and noise but theirs.
Eventually they reached the top and the entrance to the roof terrace.
It sounded like the rain had stopped by now, the clouds having wandered further away to another city part. But since they were already there, might as well take advantage of it. So she let him take over again, allowing him to pick the roof door's lock.
The roof terrace was dominated on each end by what was popularly known as the dragon's back, which characterised the facade and had been represented with different coloured tiles. However, the main focal point of the terrace were the four crooked and polychrome chimney stacks.
The rooftops of all the other buildings around the blocks visible beyond them. Bathed in a warm hue by the low winter sun that peeked through the now clearing clouds.
Everything glistening wet, reflecting its rays.
"I've never been here with no other people around," she said, taking in the view in awe. Not paying attention to the slippery ground, she'd have landed on the cold tiles if it wasn't for Taehyung's quick reaction. Grabbing her arm and holding onto her tightly.
"Careful, clumsy fellow."
She blushed at his teasing grin. "Y-yeah, thanks."
There were a few chairs scattered around for visitors and they settled for a couple under a porch, spared from the rain. And Taehyung's eyes widened when watching Cassandra unpack a small drawing pad and a pencil. Seeing her beginning sketching on her lap.
It didn't happen often, but there were periods she really got into this often overlooked interest of hers. Overlooked since studying and working had taken up most energy in the past. Not leaving much for anything else. So she tried picking it up again whenever she could, carrying her pad and pencil wherever she went.
He peeked on her paper, seeing the rough outline of the skyline and the roof taking shape on it. And he pursed his lips. "You draw?"
"Mh, a bit. Sometimes."
"Do you have a spare piece of paper?"
Arching a brow at him briefly, she nodded and heaved hers to tear off another one for him. Offering him a pencil as well, which he accepted with a smile.
Her eyes caught a glimpse of calluses on his palm and index finger. From a gun, she concluded.
"You draw, too?" she asked then, adjusting the thick beanie on her head before glancing back down to her drawing pad.
"Hardly. But figured I could pick it up again instead of sitting here idle," he explained with a small shrug and started doodling. "Don't expect anything grand though."
she laughed under her breath. "Neither should you."
They grew quiet with only their scribbling pencils and the passing cars down on the street audible. Until Taehyung took out his phone and a mellow jazz song began accompanying them instead. And Cassandra stole a glance at him.
Over the course of the past three months, he'd tended to stop by in between of breaks from heists. He said it was because he loved the city and perhaps that was true. But she couldn't help and secretly hope it was partially for her, too.
He was still somewhat a stranger in some aspects. And a friend in others. One of these friends you only met once in awhile and yet, it didn't feel weird or awkward. Making her wonder if she would also still get along like this with her actual old friends from highschool and medical school.
And in an odd way, Taehyung felt the same strange familiarity with the young doctor. Cassandra was like a childhood friend.
When he was with her, he didn't feel like an internationally wanted thief, but rather like a normal and perhaps even good person.
She made him forget about what he was when being away from her. And in some naive way he wanted to cling onto that, for as long as possible at least.
After all, they had barely known each other and yet, while spending afternoons together just strolling around, it felt always easy. Effortlessly. At some point they'd even reached the beach, only then realising how they'd had walked up all the way there without noticing. They could always talk about anything and have fun.
Cassandra didn't know she wasn't the only one finding comfort in that.
Much to her dismay, however, they couldn't talk about everything as Taehyung would never tell her any stories from his heists with Jimin and Yoongi.
He lied that it'd be a thief's codex not to speak with an outsider about it, when in reality he simply didn't want her to judge or be scared of him.
He had this justified paranoia that a woman like her wouldn't want to have anything to do with someone like him if she knew any details. After all, he still couldn't fathom the fact she hadn't already run away from the very beginning when knowing what he was.
And besides, him not letting her in on his criminal life would be better in any case. For both of them.
"May I ask something?" she spoke up then, after tucking a coppery curl behind her ear that had gone astry by the breeze high up there. Hearing him hum, she gathered her courage and proceeded. "How did you become a thief? I mean.. did you wake up one day and thought 'yep, that's what I wanna do'?"
It was something she'd always wondered but never dared to mention. However, the sight of his hand reminded her of it again. So she decided to attempt coaxing some info out of him at least. Anything.
Cassandra's unapologetic curiosity made Taehyung burst out laughing, genuinely entertained by her. However, she mistook it for mockery and only pouted.
"Don't tell me if you don't want to. But stop making fun of me," she mumbled awkwardly.
He quickly shook his head, though, stifling another bubbling chuckle. "No, no. It's alright. I don't mind. Just didn't expect that sudden question."
She only hmpf-ed, focusing on her sketch. "So?"
"Well.." he began then scratching his head while contemplating how to explain it, "It's definitely not that I woke up one day and decided to be one. It just.. happened."
Cassandra only shot him a funny look. "Like.. you just tripped and fell into it?"
Wrinkles formed at the corners of his eyes again and he bit back another chuckle. Getting the reference.
The cold wind picked up anew, tousling his hair and making Cassandra's body grow stiff for a moment.
"Kinda.. remember Jimin?"
"Of course," she nodded, "How could I forget that cute face."
"Cute face, huh?" he huffed out a laugh, "Don't let him hear that, his ego is already out of proportion."
She giggled, nodding. "Noted. So, what's with him?"
Taehyung sighed into the wind. His pencil pausing for a brief second. "It is a long story.."
"We got time," she shrugged, erasing a part and sketching it again, "But if you don't wanna.."
"I mean.. it's not easy to explain." He lowered the volume of his phone then. "I mean, why did you decide to be a physician?"
"Oh."
She glanced up at him, seeing his mischievious grin which caused her to huff out amused.
So that was how he wanted to play.
"In my case it wasn't anything special, though," she shrugged and went back to her drawing, "I like helping people and I love biology. And I'm interested in how things work. How these different organs and cells interact together." A small smile formed on her lips as the pencil glided over the thick piece of paper. "Between all the subjects and things that interested me, this was the one holding more meaning to me, you know? So yeah.. That was my reason. Nothing too special, really."
Taehyung observed her with a fond smile, finding her reason rather noble than as simple as she made it sound. Returning to his doodles then.
"Not the money or prestige?" he teased then, making her scoff in fake-offence.
"Please, if I wanted just money and prestige I could've studied economics or finances or something like that. Would've been way easier than all the nights studying anatomy and metabolic deseases. Believe me."
He hummed amused.
Of course he knew there was a big portion of doctors doing it for the wrong reasons, but he'd never believed her belonging to them. She just didn't strike him as such a superficial person, even if his analysing skills weren't as advanced as Jimin's, he believed that he reckoned up her character pretty well at least. And he was glad he was proven right.
The setting sun bathed everything in a sepia light. The atmosphere warm and bright despite the crisp temperature.
Although the anew dark clouds nearing from the south did concern her.
"Now it's your turn," she smirked and looked up to the afternoon view to catch more details. Planning to engrave the golden colours of the atmosphere into her memory to add them at home.
Taehyung hummed, scratching his neck with the back of the pencil while contemplating. "Well, for you to understand I have to explain my upbringing I guess," he exhaled almost in defeat then and sat back. Allowing his eyes to wander over the grey rooftops. "My earliest memories consist of a skyscraper in Mumbai, where my father brought me along to a meeting with a 'client'. I was only five back then." He paused, chewing the inside of his cheek as he chose his next words. "My dad.. he did business with shady people, so you could say the apple never falls far from the tree." A hollow laugh left his lips at the irony and he drew an abstract cartoon face. "Hence why he also taught me how to shoot a gun from an early age. I still remember when he did for the first time."
Cassandra only nodded, listening intently. She wanted to allow him opening up fully. "So it's save to assume you must be pretty good with a gun," she said instead.
Her assumptions proven correctly when she saw him nod, sighing.
"Don't wanna brag, but I'm a pretty good marksman. Yeah." His gaze fell.
It wasn't like he ever felt exceptionally proud of his remarkable skills, in fact, he was always quite indifferent about them. However, telling her about them now made an unusual nervousness rise inside him. Fearing her judgement.
"Anyway," he composed himself then, "So you can say my dad wasn't necessarily father of the year, but besides teaching me how to shoot and taking me along to business trips, he was alright and took care of me. But since we travelled and moved a lot and I never got to stay at a place for too long. Which kinda sucked."
A scowl crossed her featured. "Oh, what about school or friends?"
"I had to constantly change schools and always had to leave the friends I found behind."
"That sounds.. hard," she sighed, giving him a look of empathy.
And he nodded as an old Sinatra classic began playing, distracting him for a moment. He ran his hand through his messy waves then. "Yeah.. but it didn't last for too long, so it's okay. Really. When I turned thirteen my dad left me at my grandparents and disappeared, so.. I was able attending school frequently after all."
At this, Cassandra perked up again. Brows furrowed in confusion how he brushed over that grave information so easily. "W-what? He disappeared?"
Taehyung only shrugged nonchalantly. Masking the still lingering hurt and confusion. "Y-yeah.. The only thing I have left of him is his Magnum. He gave it to me before leaving. And I still have it, carrying it around wherever I go."
He knew that he didn't have to tell her all this, but he felt like doing it anyway. Although it wasn't something he talked about often. Or ever.
The only people who knew were his two closest and only friends, and perhaps Seokjin and his interpol agents if they had done their work correctly. However, he hoped that knowing his backstory would at least help her understand it better. And perhaps prevent her from judging him too much.
But Cassandra wasn't judging him. Rather the opposite.
She folded her lips at this, quietly processing his words. And all of a sudden a deep sadness spread inside her instead. The quiet background music coming from his phone emphasising the lingering heaviness.
Obviously she'd already assumed that his life and upbringing most likely hadn't been all sunshine and rainbows - whose really were anyway - but she hadn't expected it to be so sombre. Despite him trying brushing it off and not dissembling it. She could still tell it was a baggage he carried with him by the dullness clouding his usually bright eyes.
"Mh, it's a memento of your father," she concluded then with a nod, more to herself than him. "And that's why you became a thief?"
"No, not really. But it's what pathed the way for me, I guess," he snickered. The laugh not reaching his eyes. And her lips parted but before she could say anything more, he continued. "What eventually made me a thief was when I met Jimin, the most annoying, insufferable and sly skirt chaser at school," he sighed, chuckling under his breath. It was genuine amusement this time. "But he was also the most loyal and reliable friend I ever had."
At this, Cassandra couldn't help but coo, averting her focus from her sketch to look at him with crescent-shaped eyes. "You two are childhood friends, that's so lovely."
Taehyung smiled at her reaction. Finding it unexpected but also endearing. "Yeah, we were school friends. But not right from the start. To me he was just a rebellious and entitled lil' rich brat, a real trouble-maker. I preferred hanging out with the other kids or staying by myself."
She could tell he was holding back a nostalgic laugh and she smiled. "Sounds like a handful," she agreed, "But you still ended up becoming friends."
He scoffed, folding his arms. "I was kinda forced, to be honest. He saw me having a gun one day and then dragged us into a shootout all because he was into that woman - who was at least ten years older than us, mind you." Now getting genuinely upset when recalling the incident at the bar two 13-year-olds didn't have any business to be at. Adding with a frustrated breath, "This idiot never thinks when he sees a pretty girl and the rest of us have to carry the can for it." He shook his head then. "Anyway, I ended up becoming friends with him. We hung up and since thievery ran in Jimin's blood - it was literally his family-business - he began being on the fiddle. And I ended up helping him. And as we grew older it went from robbing liquor to banks to museums and art galleries to.. well, to actual treasures around the world. And on the way, we met Yoongi who joined us. That's the story, I guess."
Cassandra breathed out an astonished "wow", eyes gaping at him in a short silence. "That's.. an intense story," a mischievous smirk tugging at the corners of her lips, "Are you sure you didn't steal that from a film plot?"
He laughed as well, looking down at his three caricatures. "I wished."
The dark blanket of clouds she had noticed earlier had come threateningly closer by now. Covering the right side of the sky completely, while the rest also had a fair amount of smaller, lighter clouds. Still not enough to completely cover it there, though, leaving enough space for the colorful sky to peak through when a more upbeat song began playing.
"You know, it's kinda funny," Cassandra said then, making him perk up. He noticed her lips curled into a small ambiguous smile. Eyes resting on the skyline before going back to her drawing. "We're so different, you and me. But our upbringings still ended up having some similarities."
He was intrigued by this. "Like what?"
She picked another pencil, a thicker one compared to the one she had sketched the buildings in. "My parents are nature photographers, you know, always been travelling around the world. Still do. I barely see them, only when they visit me once every one or two months. And back in the days, they'd take me with them to all the far places," she explained," My earliest memories are of myself chasing pigeons on the Plaza de la Catedral in Havana when I was merely four years old. I remember it vividly. It was a lively, colourful place. I'd like to revisit one day." The ambiguousness in her expression now replaced with nostalgia. "And then when I was old enough to attend school, they left me with my grandparents. Just like you, I grew up with them and suddenly I had something like a stable life. But my parents would still take me with them during holidays, so I still got to travel."
Perhaps that was why to this day, something inside her remained unsettled so she took any chance she got to travel somewhere. Whether it was during her medical internships or for vacations.
The two exchanged a look, holding each other's gaze with a smile of mutual understanding.
The similarity of their childhoods consisting of constant travelling with no real sense of 'home' up until a certain age, was comforting in a way. Although their circumstances being clearly unlike, to know there was someone else with similar experience and upbringings was maybe what really bonded them in the end, despite living so vastly different lives.
They continued sketching in a comfortable silence then.
The sun neared the mountains in the distance and the golden hue of the atmosphere soon became darker. The clouds which had now covered most of the sky above them, reflecting the disappearing sun's orangy gleam. Bright, fluffy clouds on their right contrasting dark heavy ones on their left. The sky looking like straight out of the renaissance paintings in a museum. And both stared at it in awe.
Cassandra took another paper out and began a new sketch. Hatching harsher shadows on the buildings and clouds. Trying her best to capture the dramatic picturesque view in front of her. And Taehyung observed her silently, admiring the pure concentration in her face.
Soon the darker ones absorbed more of the yellow sky in their purple shades. The sun hidden by now. Only the smaller becoming gleam behind the buildings letting them assume where it was- With pink cotton candy clouds in the far north contrasting the shades of blue around them. Only half an hour later, the sun had set completely. Leaving the buildings standing dark against the still dimly coloured sky.
Another brisk breeze passed by then and she shivered, causing her tho almost smudge the sketch.
"Are you cold?" Taehyung wondered out loud, making her frown.
"Of course. Aren't you?"
He shrugged, shoving his hands into his coat's pockets. Not because he was cold but out of habit. "Not really, no."
"You may not feel it, but your body might become hypothermic if you're not careful."
He hummed.
"You should definitely dress warmer. Put on a scarf of something."
"Is that a doctor's advice?" he smirked and she puffed out a laugh.
"It's actually a doctor's order."
"Oh, is that so?" His brows rose. Finding her lecturing tone quite amusing as it was contrasting her otherwise gentle and bubbly demeanor. "I should follow it then."
She knew he wasn't taking her serious, but she had done her duty and warned him. It was up to him if he listened or not.
"I like this song," she said then, motioning with her chin to his phone. His brows rose as his gaze fell on it. 'Unforgettable' by Nat Kind Cole was playing. And he couldn't help but beam at her. "So do I."
A tiny waterdrop landed on the back of her hand then. And another one. She looked up, seeing the purple clouds now hanging low above them. Stretching all the way to the pastel pink coloured north side. Another waterdrop landed on her cheek and she realised those weren't normal waterdrops but actual raindrops.
Taehyung had also noticed them, holding the palm of his hand against them. "I think it's raining again."
As soon as he said that, more and more drops fell abruptly from the sky and Cassandra cursed under her breath. Quickly packing up and shoving everything into her backpack. And they hurried inside, following the stairs back downstairs.
They could hear the rain picking up on volume, pattering loudly against the glass of the skylight and the windows.
The stairs led them to the house's main living room, which despite the large picture window that formed a gallery onto the rain-covered main street, was left in an eery atmosphere due to the lack of light. The huge oak doors and the wavy ceiling only adding to this.
Cassandra sat down on the floor in front of the gallery window taking off her beanie. A sigh escaping her lips when seeing the rain pouring down harsher, becoming more violent. Turning into a downright cloudburst. "And I was thinking about taking my umbrella with me, but of course I didn't.."
"I bet it's just another short downpour, it'll be over soon," Taehyung said, taking a seat next to her and resting his arms on his angled legs. He motioned to her backback then. "Are your drawings okay?"
Her eyes grew wide, only now remembering them. She zipped open her backpack, taking out her drawing pad and flipping threw the pages. They seemed alright, no wavy edges, no blurred or dissorted lines. And she sighed in relief. "Yeah, they seem fine."
Suddenly the pad was tucked out of her grip and she watched Taehyung's eyes intently browsing over them as well. His brows knitting lightly, making her wonder what he was thinking about.
"You said not to expect much, but these are incredible," he said then with a straight face, handing her the pad back. Cassandra blinked, hesitatedly accepting it and stuffing it back into her bag.
"I mean.. they were rather casually drawn.. but thanks," she mumbled, not really taking the compliment serious. Knowing they weren't her best works considering their rushed nature and it'd been awhile since she'd last drawn.
Taehyung only eyed her for a moment and shrugged, resting his gaze on the streams of water flowing down the gallery window in front of them. "Sure, but you still captured the atmosphere and contrasts well. I like them."
At this she bit back a genuine smile.
"Oh, well thank you then." She playfully nudged his arm with a wiggle in her brows. "Didn't know you were such an 'art connoisseur'."
He laughed under his breath, sensing she only wanted to distract from the blush on her cheeks. And he let her.
"You know, we've not only stolen jeweles and artefacts. Sometimes we steal paintings, too. Some knowledge must've brushed off on me."
Nodding, she hummed. Eyes joining his in watching the heavy growing rain outside. "What paintings did you steal?"
"Some Manet's, some Rembrandt's, an El Greco.." he mused, "You know, all these portraits they've painted made me realise one thing.."
Intrigued, she peeked at him. "And what?"
He faced her with a lopsided grin. "That I'd like having one myself. Like one of these sleazy rich guys. To put it over my fireplace or something."
Cassandra couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Do you even have a fireplace?"
His grin widened. "I don't even have my own house," he said, laughing along with her now over his own absurdity, "But one day, one day I will."
And they sat there shoulder to shoulder, watching the storm pass by. For a brief second he thought about taking his phone out again before deciding against it. Somehow preferring listening to the pit-a-pat of the rain instead.

Tumblr media
atsushi nakajima ★↷
it was just natural for atsushi to care about people that he respected or liked. but somewhere along the lines of working with you, he started caring about you slightly more than others. and originally he was embarrassed that he started feeling butterfly's in his stomach whenever you were near or if you complimented him but he started getting over that and now he was just nervous about trying to confess.
but one day when you two where assinged the mission to close up a case taht ranpo had narrowed down he started feeling concerned. not for him but for you. you both knew this was a dangerous job but you two were probably the best bet according to ranpo. so atsushi was horribly worried that something would happen to you. something that would prevent him from ever building up the confidence to confess.
but so far everything was going smoothly, you two were just clearing out the last of the mission and he had finished so he went to go find you. but when he went to go find you it seemed his fears where becoming true. you were leant against a wall clutching an open wound to your side and struggling to keep yourself standing upright with only one hand puttong pressure on the wound. he immediately ran over to help you up and called up yosano and the agency to get you help.
he layed you down and helped you try stop the bleeding and told you that you two had did it and help was on the way. and after this he promised to himself he would build up the confidence to confess.
akiko yosano ★↷
when you two originally had first started out in your relationship, she had vowed to herself that she would protect you no matter what. she had lost people she cared about before and she's never letting that happen again.
so when it was announced that you were meant to go on quite a dangerous mission she couldn't help but volunteer herself to go with you. if you were away and gravely injured how would she save you? after some bargaining and discussion, she was allowed to go with. you two wouldn't be gone for that long if all went well so it wasn't that big if their doctor was gone for a while.
plus fukuzawa knew that she cared deeply for you and after all she's already been through he wanted her to be happy with someone she truly cared about. although she couldn't accompany you when you actually went to deal with whatever business was on that mission, she held a base camp for you to return to or request her help if need be and that made her happy knowing that she could protect you.
although you had yet to return and it was getting worry some as of you had something else to deal with you would've messaged her right? so she set off in your last known location hoping that nothing was wrong and it was just taking longer. as she approached the site, she got more cautious but after seeing no one else around she assumed you had won, but where were you?
that was soon answered when she spotted you limping towards her. your leg looked completely mangled and most of your clothes look torched, most likely a flame wielding ability user. she panicked and ran over to you taking you in her arms and praying she would never have to see you in this state again.
ranpo edogawa ★↷
sometimes when strategizing for missions that require someone of a particular skill or ability ranpo doesn't really care that much about who ends up doing it. but when it involves you, going alone he can't help but try to interject and stop it especially if its rather dangerous.
there was a rather serious mission that needed solving as fast as possible to avoid more casualties. and as soon as ranpo heard your name as the final decision he felt a worry he had never felt before and immediately tried to change the president's mind but he knew deep down that you were needed to do this. and with high reluctance he let you out of the tight hug as he clung to you wishing you would make it back safe.
he simply couldn't sit still at work and seemed even less willing to actually work. he simply paced around clocks, calenders anything to could give him a countdown till you returned. for the safety of your mission no one was allowed to contact you until you contacted them back to give updates. so with no way to hear that your safe made his mind play tricks on him and always assumed the worst.
on the day of your expected return, ranpo was waiting right behind the door to your shared apartment there was no way he was going to miss you, he had to greet as soon as he saw you, he just msissed you two much. and because you got home later you siad you would come straight there. although he was slightly worried as the only sign of your status was a quick message saying you had finished and were coming back. and eventually he saw the doorknob turn and he got ready to practically pounce on you but as soon as the door opened he stopped.
there stood before him was in fact you. but with bruises on your face, slightly blood matted hair and clutching your left arm to your side all adorned eith a painfull smile. as soon as you saw ranpo you felt like you could relax and let the sweet embrace of fatugue take you as ranpo caught you in his arms and hurriedly dialing yosano to come help you. while he waited he brought your body carefully further into his embrace as he felt a small tear roll down his cheek.

so here we are again, i'm breaking up with doctor who again? and i have a lot of asks about why and i have some asks from people ranting at me because they know me well enough to know why these specials would upset me.
i wanna go over why i'm upset a bit, and i'm gonna do it on main because at the end of the day my tumblr career started here.
as a lot of you may be aware, i have been a huge fan of journey's end and of tentoo for over ten years. my god, i have been in the absolute trenches defending that ending for rose and defending the metacrisis doctor for so long that it's honestly part of who i am.
when rtd was announced to be returning as showrunner i was really excited because i thought he was such a brilliant writer who understood the show and his characters. rtd has always been imperfect, but his original run was about life, death, happiness, pain and how you cannot have one without the other. it was about the human experience and the tragedy of the doctor always being on the outside of that. so close but never having it fully.
that's what made it compelling.
now, i was pretty convinced that the fourteenth doctor was going to be tentoo or that something tentoo related was why that face came back. not just because i wanted it but because it made sense. tentoo is half of the metacrisis, he is why donna lost her memories and the toymaker is a villian who messes with universes for fun! all these pieces fit.
it wasn't primarily about rose because i knew billie wouldn't be in the specials, it was about this making the most sense for donna and for the doctor and their relationship.
my biggest issue now is that... fourteen is not ten. the audience seems to be accepting him as such because that's how he was written, but doing so really undercut a lot of what made the tenth doctor my doctor.
fourteen is not ten, he and donna have not seen each other in years - millions for him, fifteen for her - they are different people. or they SHOULD be. and of course he still loves her, of course of course but it doesn't ring true to me for them to barely address how long they've been apart and act like it's s4 again so rtd can give ten a "happy ending."
i don't even know where to start cause it's all so upsetting. listen, i don't like donna getting her memories back and i know that is unpopular but i feel like that tragedy was so well done that reversing it with a wave of the hand is a travesty. but even if donna had kept her memories, fine! show me her family, show me how she has grown and changed in the life without him and show me how she has grown to love herself and is ready to let ten go so he can let go of the guilt of what he had to do to her. why does donna need to have her own doctor?
in russell's book "the writer's tale" he was ADAMANT about donna NEVER getting her memories back. he was proud, as he should have been, of how painfully he ended s4 because tragedy has value.
the key difference between this and journeys end and giving rose her own doctor is that while rose gets a happy ending, it's tinged with pain and with sacrifice for them all. it comes with a price and that makes it all the more precious. ten and tentoo have always been the same guy with different opportunities and how that affects who we become to me. you remove the tragedy from it and the core falls out and it feels soulless.
sure, rose would be happy that the doctor is happy but i'm sorry this is rose's storyline repackaged and handed to donna and done in a way the audience accepts as "real." which is so fucking mindnumbingly unfair and lazy. to take the doomsday, "one adventure i can never have," which is about rose and giving it to donna is so god damn insulting. it's like donna's popularity as a platonic soulmate to ten has completely overpowered the power of nine and ten's relationship with rose, her family and what they represented for him and that doesn't sit right with me and i'm not ashamed to say it.
and it doesn't even work overall because the doctor settled down with river for 24 years already. like... he already had that adventure in various ways! it's like rtd thought he could pick up in 2008.
this is what he originally wanted to do with journeys end and instead of using what he already had and expanding on it, instead of using how tentoo has been thinking of donna for fifteen years too bc he cost her everything, instead of using their metacrisis to have him absorb his mind, instead of using how they are biologically related he makes a THIRD david tennant doctor? it's perplexing. he could have easily brought tentoo over to the main universe and if he REALLY wanted to had donna and her fam move to pete's world and seal them all away for his soft reboot that way.
now we have two timelord doctors in the main dw verse. why? what's gonna happen to him! what about when donna die? does he become the valeyard? what was the point? HOW does this celebrate 60 years?
but my biggest pain of all has been how this neuters ten and the audience perception of him. i love how rude he was. i love how repressed he was. i love his pain and his sillness. i love how he went mad. i love i don't want to go. i LOVE how hard it was for him because it fucking Meant something. like julie gardner said, the doctor is his most compelling when he has to sacrifice something. i love a happy ending, but i worry we are forgetting the value or something ending painfully and just... ending.
tldr; i have more to say but at the moment i feel like my favorite doctor got erased, like they took all the depth from him and made him happier and easier to digest for comforts sake and it sacrificed his arc and that makes me unhappy.

Can I request your OC’s with a darling who has an accent? Like they grew up in speech therapy and they get made fun of for it sometimes and that causes them to not like their voice and stay quiet?
-🦇
[I kinda want to make Hedwig's and Jerry's ones oneshots. They're my favorite :>]
Warnings: violence, threats of cutting of tongues, genitalia, fingers and heads, arson, knives,
Tumblr media
Silas:
You don't talk often and when you do, you only talk to him. Silas adores your voice. He encourages you to speak everytime you're together. He loves everything about it — everything from how you stutter slightly to how you pronounce your words. When you gather enough courage to tell you about the kids that used to make fun of you in your past, you can tell that something in his demenour shifts.
"Those little fuckers. Y/N, you're going to tell me their names with that wonderful, sweet little voice of yours and I'll pay them all a personal visit. I'll cut their tongues out, see how they feel about not being able to speak 'correctly'. Or better yet, I'll make them never be able to talk again."
Tumblr media
Dr Kry:
As your personal doctor, Dr Kry has taken it upon himself to become your speech therapist as well (even if he doesn't have the license). He sits with you everyday and comforts himself with the thought that it's only him you actually talk to when he doesn't get many words out of you. He often compliments your voice and when you let him know that he seems to be the only one who likes it and that others have said something else ... he scoffs.
"Those kids were childish. You'll never have to speak with them again — you'll never have to speak to anyone again. If you really don't feel comfortable with your speech, I'll do it for you. I'll take every conversation ... if you just talk to me. I adore your voice. I love to hear it. I'll never mock you, okay?"
Tumblr media
King Edmund:
There's much he doesn't know about you, but you know all about him. He wants to learn more about you, but you never open your mouth. It pains him like knives through his heart. He wants to talk to you more than anything. He wants to learn about your childhood, your family, your interests and where you're from — because he's noticed the accent, but he can't tell where it originates from. But when you do open up and he gets to know the horrors you've been through, he suddenly stops you.
"They'll pay. I'll tell my secretary to fix a public behading! Their heads are going to roll to my feet and I'll cut their tongues and grill them for supper! Don't worry, my queen, they'll never hurt you again, not as long as I'm here."
Tumblr media
Jerry:
She doesn't pressure you to talk. When you're ready, you'll talk. She has looked up your personal information, but e few pieces of paper can't tell her everything. She wants to know more. One night when you're lying in her bed, skin touching and breaths trying to calm down you take the opportunity to tell her what she wants to hear now that you feel so warm. Jerry has placed your head on her bare chest and runs her fingers through your hair. Her acrylic nails feels like heaven. You can feel her tense.
"Who are these lowlives, hm? Tell me their names. Come on, baby, I'll revenge you. What should I do to them? Cut of their fingers? Their dicks, maybe? Why don't you want to tell me? Use your pretty, little voice and tell me. Don't protect them, they don't deserve it." As soon as you've told her, she gets up from the bed and starts dressing herself. "Don't stay up, I won't be back for quite a while. I'll give them what they deserve. Fuck, how much I love you. I'm the only one allowed to mock you."
Tumblr media
Hedwig:
Hedwig takes care of everything for you. You don't want to talk? No problem. She'll talk for you. You'll whisper what you want to be said in her ear and she'll say it out loud! She's waiting for you to finish your sentences while you stutter and talks back to the teacher when they ask you to answer a question. When you one day tell him why you're so quiet and why you switched school ... she explodes. She forces you to tell her the names. While you're sleeping, she calls her private hitman and asks him to help her. Just a few hours later, five houses are set aflame and Hedwig's standing on the road with a smile on her face.
"That's what you deserve. That's what you all deserve. I'll never let anyone hurt my sweetheart."

JUST AS JUNE was pouring herself a glass of wine after a long afternoon at the ballet studio, she put the bottle down with an annoyed groan when there was a knock on her door. Since she wasn't expecting anyone, she considered simply not opening the door and ignoring the mysterious visitor.
Happy was still at the lake with the kids, which Callie had informed her about over the phone just twenty minutes ago because she really wanted to tell her mother something exciting and begged Happy to let her call. She found a pretty stone, that was the exciting news and June couldn't help but chuckle again as she remembered how excited Callie had sounded.
Amber, with whom she shared the dance classes at the ballet studio, still has two dance classes to go and it also couldn't be her brother or one of the other club members either, since she knew from Jax that there was a party tonight.
But curiosity got the best of her. Only wearing an oversized shirt that she still had from Happy, her feet carried her towards the door and shortly afterwards June's surprised gaze met her mother's.
"Wow, Mom, a visit from you when your grandchildren aren't here?", she mocked as lovingly as she could, an exaggeratedly sweet smile on her lips as she stepped aside. "What brings me the honor?"
"Don't be a bitch", Gemma chuckled as she stepped into the house, the sound of her heels muting as she stepped from the concrete outside the house onto the carpet inside. With a lifted brow, her brown eyes settled on June's shirt. "Was Happy here?"
June rolled her eyes as she closed the door behind Gemma and gently pushed the older woman into the kitchen. "Yeah, to pick up his kids. The shirt is oldᅳ that's what this is about, right?"
"So what? Just wanted to know", Gemma hummed with the slightest grin as she noticed how stressed June instantly seemed. "He still gets under your skin, doesn't he?"
"Are you really here to talk about my failed marriage?" June got on her tiptoes, the curse of being too small, and fished a second wine glass out of the cupboard. "Because if so, you can leave again."
"What's gotten into you?" With a soft snort, the matriarch stepped next to her daughter and filled the glasses with the red liquid. "I just wanted to check on my daughter", she added innocently.
"Sure", the younger Teller mumbled under her breath, clutching her wine glass tightly as she shuffled towards the table and plopped down on a chair. "Why are you really here? Did something happen? Do you need help?"
"You act like I don't care about you." Gemma joined June in the chair opposite and crossed one leg over the other before letting her gaze wander around the kitchen. "I've always loved this house. It's great that it's yours now."
June just sighed quietly when Gemma avoided her question, but then nodded as she let her own gaze wander around the spacious kitchen. "I've always loved Jax' house too."
Before the Teller family moved in after Abel was born, June and Jax had always joked about living together one day and never go separated ways. The siblings had always talked about how difficult it would be for them if everyone had their own lives.
When the house was renovated while Wendy was pregnant, June knew that she would soon have to share her brother. And no one knew that Tara would be coming back. From the moment the doctor returned to Charming and simply sneaked back into Jax' life, Jax and June's relationship changed quickly.
The siblings hardly spent any time together anymore and ultimately June got to know Happy properly after the former Nomad joined the Redwood Original Charter. And faster than expected, both Teller siblings led their own lives, starting their own families.
Of course it hurt that her relationship with Jax was no longer what it used to be, but after the break up with Happy, Jax at least tried to be there for June as often as possible and to comfort her by simply sitting with her all night while she was hiding under a blanket on the couch while she was full on ugly crying.
And when Tara found a house that was more in line with her expectations about ten months ago, Jax agreed to move and offered June to take over the house. This way Happy no longer had to live in the clubhouse and could go back to his house and she had enough space here with the kids and was closer to Alanna's school and her ballet studio.
"I'm glad he didn't sell it", Gemma said contentedly before falling silent for a moment, closely studying June. "When are you coming back, baby?"
"Back where?" June asked confused, running the tip of her index finger over the rim of the glass. "I'm here."
"You're here, but not where you belong." Gemma leaned back with a sigh, her gaze hard and stubborn as always when she wanted something. "You're a Teller, SAMCRO's princess, and you haven't been seen in the clubhouse for a year."
"Here we go", June muttered with a snort, dropping her head into her hands as she exhaled loudly. "Why are you alle so hellbent on me not coming over regularly? Happy said the same thing earlier."
"Because he misses you, baby", Gemma replied with a shrug, as if it was obvious how much the SAA was suffering under the breakup. "And I think it's time to finally stop pouting, sweetheart. Are you really going to throw your marriage away because he made one mistake?"
"You don't fuckin' understand, do you?" June's head snapped up, the muscles in her jaw twitching as something dangerous flashed in her eyes. "That's exactly what he was trying to do, Mom. Happy apologized but never asked me to forgive him", she explained, her tone sharp simply because she was sensitive when it came to that subject. "And even if he did, making out with another woman is the worst thing he could have doneᅳ and something I can't forgive. Not even if it was just to push me away."
The last words, just a bitter whisper with a hint of pain in them, left Gemma speechless and thoughtful while June emptied her glass in one go.
"I love him, mom, more than I've ever loved a man and it still hurts", she continued, her voice cracking. Shaking her head, June rubbed the tip of her nose with the back of her hand. "But it is what it is. Happy made his choice."
"That's not how I raised you", Gemma muttered, pushing her upper body forward. "We Tellers don't just give up. You want your husband back, fight for it."
A humorless laugh vibrated through June's chest as she tilted her head back, staring at the ceiling. "No, you want me to get my husband back. I made a clean cutᅳ Happy and I aren't going to work out, no matter how much I miss us."
Gemma shook her head, pointing a finger at June. "Bullshit! You didn't make a clean cut, otherwise you wouldn't constantly avoid the club and every family dinner I host!"
"It's none of your god damn business, mom!" June's upper body also shot forward, now face to face with her mother. "I'm done with it, can you please just accept that?"
"Is that why you haven't given Happy the divorce papers that have been sitting in the damn drawer for months?" Gemma asked, her tone challenging as she pointed to a specific drawer in the kitchen. "That says more than you think, baby."
"Howᅳ?" Heat rose in June's cheeks as a wave of anger ripped through her, causing her to stand up with a loud squeak of her chair. "Why are you snooping around in my things?!"
"Jesus, I was just looking for a pair of scissors and found the papers by accident!" Which was a flat-out lie. Gemma, being the way she was, always had to stick her nose into other people's opportunities. "Sit down! We need to talk about this, this can't go on like this."
"We don't need to talk about anything!" Her child-free evening definitely ruined now, June made a hand gesture towards the hallway. "Please just go. Maybe it's better if we don't see each other for a few weeks."
"Are you serious?" Acting all offended, Gemma grabbed her bag and stood up, the scratching sound of the chairs sliding across the floor echoing through the room.
"Yes, I'm serious. Learn to finally stay out of mine and Jax' business, we're not your little babies anymore", June hissed as her fingers, shaking with anger, slid through her reddish hair. "You need to accept that I'm not the Old Lady you always wanted me to be."
"This is how you thank me for everything I've done for you?" Swinging her bag over her shoulder, Gemma stormed past June. Stopping in her tracks, Gemma's brown eyes stared into June's blue ones. "I know you're my daughterᅳ but you're nothing like me."
"Well, thank God", June added coolly, swallowing softly as she saw the brief shock cross Gemma's face before the matriarch stormed out of the house without another word, slamming the door behind her.
A sound almost like a whine fell from June's lips as she slid down the wall and let the back of her head fall against it, her legs stretched out in front of her. Why did an argument with her mother always have to escalate this quickly?
She was used to it, that was probably just how it was between mothers and daughters, and both women were stubborn as hell. But what really bothered June was the fact that Gemma had hit the nail on the head with her words.
Until now, the former Teller woman hadn't been able to give Happy the divorce papers, but she guessed that had to happen if she wanted closure.
JUNE CRADLED ALANNA against her chest and placed a kiss on the top of the nine-year-old's head as her arms were wrapped around her mother's waist. June had never made a distinction between Alanna and Callie, the former as much her daughter as Callie.
When she met Happy four years ago and he had his daughter with him, she was immediately smitten with the then five-year-old, who was shy at first but an absolute sweetheart as soon as she opened up to people.
June had never had a problem with Happy already having a kid, Alanna was a part of him from the start and June immediately included her in the relationship. When she then became pregnant with Callie and Alanna was afraid of being second, Happy suggested that June could adopt her.
Of course they had asked Alanna before making a decision, and when the Lowman girl had immediately agreed, the glow in her brown eyes still burned in June's memories, they wasted no time and got married so that June could adopt Happy's daughter.
"How was the weekend, baby?", June asked as she lovingly stroked Alanna's hair and looked down at the girl.
"It was okay", the nine-year-old mumbled with a wiggle of her nose. "Can I go to my room? I still have homework to do."
"Yeah, sure, I'll be right with you." June looked after her daughter for a moment before she looked back at Happy, who was still standing in the doorway. The dull expression in his eyes as he looked after Alanna, who had only waved goodbye, made her sigh. "Did you talk to her?"
"I tried", he grunted, pushing himself away from the wooden frame, burying his hands deep in his pockets. "But she didn't want to talk, instead she just hid in her room for half the weekend."
While Callie was happily playing in the living room and had already said goodbye to her father, dull rock music sounded from the back of the house, probably from Alanna's room, which used to be Abel's room.
June just sighed again, already used to Alanna's current mood swings. "She's at a difficult age, I think we just need to be patient with her."
"She was never like that, not untilᅳ not until I left." Happy shook his head, hating the conversations at the door. He just wanted to come in, be with his family.
His eyes scanned the woman in front of him, June chewing on her lower lip, her pretty face perfectly framed by her chin-length, reddish hair. And the innocent expression on her face still drove him crazy.
"You knew it wouldn't be easy", she said softly, bringing a hand to her mouth to chew on her nail next. The woman shifted nervously on her feet. "You got a minute? We need to talkᅳ about us."
For a moment, hope flashed in Happy's eyes. Yes, he wanted to push her away, but the time without her, waking up and falling asleep without June every single day, had shown him that he had made a big mistake. Probably the biggest of his life.
And June had noticed the hopeful expression, which made her feel even more guilty towards him when, after Happy had followed her into the kitchen, she held out the divorce papersᅳ already signed by her.
"What is this?" Grimly, the SAA looked down at the papers that now lay in his hand, his firm grip crumpling the paper on the edges as he read the first words. Happy's eyes suddenly darkened, filled with nothing but anger and disappointment. "You want a divorce? Are you fuckin' serious, woman?!"
"Don't raise your voice, not with the kids in the house", June warned with a hiss, tears of her own shining in her blue eyes.
"Then fuckin' explain this", he demanded with a low growl, clutching the papers harder as he waved them around.
"We broke up a year ago, Happy, what are we waiting for? All you have to do is sign and we'll go our separate ways", she tried to explain calmly, but her voice failed and so did her ability to hold back the first tears that now rolled freely down her rosy cheeks. "That's exactly what you wanted."
"I'm not signing shit", Happy barked at her as quietly as he could, waving the papers in front of her face as he got dangerously close. "You're my wife and that's not goin' to change, June."
"Your wife?" June snorted through her tears, hundreds of emotions pooling in her eyes. "I was your wifeᅳ until that one night you humiliated me in front of everyone, hurt me like no one else ever had before!"
Happy let out a low growl before he ripped the papers in half and threw them onto the kitchen counter. "If you want me to sign this shit, get a lawyerᅳ because I'm not goin' to do it willingly."
"Fuck you, Hap!" June, hot-headed as she was, grabbed him by the sleeve of his hoodie as he made his way to the front door. "What do you want from me, huh?!"
A gasp slipped past her lips as Happy spun around and shoved her against the nearest wall, both hands placed next to her head, his gaze intimidating and full of pain at the same time.
"You. My family. Get this in your freakin' brain, woman", he snarled, his voice deep and hoarse as his face hovered inches from June's. "But you're safer without me, that hasn't changed."
"Sign the damn papers." Instead of sounding determined, her request was nothing more than a plea, while she hardly dared to breathe under his intense gaze. Shit, why did he still have to be so fucking attractive? "If you still think that we aren't safe with you, then let me go."
"Is that what you really want?", he asked, still keeping his voice low without taking his eyes off her for even a second. "You want me to let you go?"
"Yes." No, she didn't want to. But she didn't want to keep playing this stupid game either. "I want you to let me go."
The desire to snuggle her body against his as he pushed her deeper into the wall with his weight cost a lot of self-control. Her pulse rose rapidly and her breath quickened, especially when he clamped her chin between his thumb and forefinger.
Bringing his lips close to her ear, she felt a small smile forming on Happy's lips as her breath hitched in her lungs before he whispered his next words against her ear, his hot breath brushing her skin.
"Then get a lawyer", he repeated his words from earlier, abruptly letting go of her, his dark but sincere gaze back. 'Cause I'm not letting you go."
And with that, he left the house, gently closing the door behind him so he wouldn't startle the kids, leaving a completely bewildered June.
What the fuck was that? And why did she suddenly feel the urge to run after him and jump his bones?
Amber, her best friend and biggest support during the last few months besides Jax, was right when she recently said that she needed to get laid before she'd lose her sanity.
But as sweet as June was, she couldn't bring herself to hunt men down to sleep with them just because she missed sex. The only one she wanted but couldn't have was Happy; the only man she would ever be able to love with her whole heart.

i don't really mind what character you use but if you are comfortable with it could you add a one sided crush the reader has on the rover (female) and jinhsi also I'm not sure how you feel about giving kids trauma so sorry if it makes you uncomfortable but can you make the reader come from a bad family or had something really horrific happen in front of them {like a house fire or someone they like getting hurt} leading them to being overly protective of the playable characters
-from a certain witch from a far off land
Alr I'll do Jinhsi and Rover...However. No romance—as your original request was a kid/minor Reader. Ik there's nothing wrong with teen romance, but my rules have stated: all children are strictly platonic.
(PS - Anon ur name is so long 😭 how can I remember this glorious title?)
Teen!Reader, the...OTHER Sentinel of Jinzhou
You get the gist of it—you were minding your own business, enjoying the content of a very cool game...And boom, magical transfer into the game. You're freaking out, and next thing you know...
Welcome, you're god now. Rejoice in your own presence.
Did I mention that you've also bumped into two very special people yet? No? Too late, I just did :)
(Warning: Might be OOC!)
Rover
The first time Rover met you, Rover felt 1000 times older. Like, to Jue, the draconic Sentinel of Jinzhou, they was the Arbiter General that practically helped establish the civilization. With you in the picture...and your physique...
Yes, you make them feel like a very ancient elder. Someone get this Rover a walking chair or a normal sitting chair. Maybe even a doctor, they might pass away from heart failure.
All jokes aside, Rover really gets not wanting to be special. Alright, this person's been there—everyone around them were hot on their heels the moment they opened their eyes, and that's not even mentioning the Black Shores, Jinzhou's government, the Fractsidus...
"No worries, [Y/N]. I won't tell a soul unless you're ready to tell others first." They keep your secret of being the other Sentinel of Jinzhou. Did I mention that their warm smile also gives them bonus points? They make you feel protected, and they quite literally will protect you should the situation present itself dangerous.
Also, if you want to talk to Jue but need moral support, look no further. Just ask Rover. They did it once, they'll do it again.
All in all? 10/10, this Rover ain't gonna be snitching you out to the city over their dead body.
Jinhsi
The first time she met you and realized you were the other Sentinel of Jinzhou, she was evidently shocked. You were barely an adult—you had both the mentality and the physique of a teenager! You were almost like her, in a sense, and little to nothing at all like Jue...except for maybe the power you wield.
She isn't exactly sure what to do at the beginning. She wants to bring you to the City Hall, but you were only a teenager, both in mind and heart. She didn't want to restrict you to responsibilities you barely even knew of yourself. In a case, you were almost like Rover in that way—maybe you forgot your memories of your past as a Sentinel. Or maybe you were reborn as a human Sentinel.
Regardless of the many possibilities of what to do to help you, Jinhsi's first step never came anywhere near to revealing to all of Jinzhou of the whereabouts of their other Sentinel, supposedly lost to time. You needed time to get used to everything, and she can provide that time. After all, nobody knew you were back (yet).
"Trust me, Sentinel [Y/N], I will ensure your safety as much as I possibly can. You are safe in Jinzhou." Jinhsi smiles a reassuring smile. "The people of Jinzhou will always welcome newcomers with open arms, regardless of their upbringing. We will continue to uphold our traditions, for this is something we, as a nation, are proud to continue."
Safe to say, you'll be in good hands. Such a shame though you'll have to be the one to smack Jinhsi around a few times to make sure she doesn't overwork herself. Just because she's supposedly an adult doesn't mean it's okay, okay? (Team up with Sanhua, and you'll probably win)
No matter what you choose (leave or stay) to do in Jinzhou, Jinhsi will make sure you are safe and free from your supposed bonds of being their Sentinel. After all, you do want to experience life at its finest, right?

Class 1b doesnt get enough love- what random trivia do you have for 1b in your rewrite?
Hello!
-
This made me happy to see, as I, too, love 1-B and do have some random bits of trivia. In no particular order:
Neitou is a big fan of the pre-quirk era, including music, games, fashion, and media in general
Shihai is very into K-Pop, but hides it to keep up his 'dark knight' portrayal
Itsuka has a collection of mittens. That's it, she has a collection of mittens
Tetsutetsu cries his eyes out whenever he watches anything even remotely sad
Pony once accidentally ate a spoonful of wasabi and has been traumatised ever since
Nirengeki doesn't fold any of his clothes. He shoves them in and irons them whenever he needs it. He thinks it saves time, (it does not)
Rin has a running gag where he'll say he was made in Korea, because that's where the 'Made in China' stickers originated from
Yui likes pottery. She's not that good at making them, but she'll enjoy the craftsmanship and collects some
Manga will sometimes jumpscare everyone with a particularly loud 'BANG!' just for the laughs
Shishida doesn't sleep on a bed. He sleeps on a bunch of blankets laid out on the floor. Might use a pillow
Sen is really into romance novels, but refuses to tell anyone
Kosei once blew a bubble with gum and accidentally used his quirk during it. The bubble was solidified over his mouth and blocked his nose. The doctors had to saw it off. He's never having bubblegum again
Kinoko has once tried to produce magic mushrooms and was only stopped when her parents caught her. She feigned innocence, but one day. One day she will have her own shrooms
Setsuna, when she was young, used to accidentally leave her hand at home and only realised when she took her shoes off at her school's entrance
Bondo has gotten high on his own glue. It's only happened once and he will never do it again after accidentally glueing his younger siblings to the sofa
Yosetsu tends to use his welding whenever he's excited, which has led to many phones being destroyed
Juuzou will sometimes swim in the ground, mostly because he can't be bothered to go to the pool
Togaru, during a bout of sleep deprivation, has once eaten cardboard and didn't realise it until he was nearly finished. He will never speak of this again
Ibara's hair has caught on fire many times. Once, she didn't realise it was on fire, due to a bbq taking place nearby, and all but ran into a nearby pond
Reikou will prank her friends by telling ghost stories and start levitating things nearby. She has attempted to levitate herself, and that ended with her face-first in the ground
-
Just want to explain why my replies tend to be slow: I get most, if not all, of these asks around 2 am, probably due to time difference. I also tend to have work most days these asks come in, and I get distracted very easily.
Sorry if anyone feels as though I've been ignoring them! Life gets in the way, you know?
-
Thanks for the ask!

I hadn't played much of Fallout 4 before this, so a bunch of drawings on it. Edith is my character.
I've never met Cait before (the first time I was about halfway through the game and only followed the story so it's understandable) and god how much I love her. She's sooooooooooo lovely for me gets high from the heart, I respect her character of the drug addicted slacker(even if it sound wierd lol) AND SHE ALSO PICKS SUPER HARD LOCKS well she's very funny and I like her accent sooo much (btw I was really pissed that the romance answer comes right after my girl Cait talks about her injuries and it's really sound like “that's how I opened up to you” “heheheh take off your pants” like what?…I didn't romance her but when I saw the answers I was disappointed how rude it all was) And McCready is still a super cool AND OF COURSE HE'S VOICED BY METTHEW MERCER I RAN TO WIKI AS SOON AS I HEARD THE VOICE AND I WAS MHMMMM GOCHA in a good way lol.
I don't really like the beginning of the F4, because it seems strange to me that a person who lived 200 years ago or so can not only survive in such places, but at the same time doesn't die from the changed atmosphere and doesn't get some disease that his immune system will never be ready for. I think that Edith did not originally live in the Commonwealth, but arrived there in company with her husband and their group of settlers in search of a better life, at the same time she already has a son who is already two years old (sorry no emotional attachment to newborns). They are supposedly attacked by riders or someone else and only Edith and her son are left alive. I guess the riders could have taken the baby if there was some I don't know woman there, or Edith managed to hide it and someone else found it and took it while she was unconscious aydunno it's hard. I think she was found by a caravan with a doctor in charge who travels the Commonwealth and you can even chat with him in general healed her and she traveled with them for a while, learned to better handle weapons (I think it makes sense that she has these skills, in Fallout if you can't hold a gun how did you even survive), maybe pick locks and stuff like that. She stayed with them for a year or so until she got fully healthy and then they said goodbye. Her basic plan is to just go out looking for her son in the hopes that he's still alive (she has no idea where her kid is) and so she's like a tank going through everything she sees and basically doesn't care about the methods she uses. As for the dog, I think she found him while she was traveling with the caravan and he got attached to her. He doesn't have a name, but he listens to her commands and they are cool baddie duo ahrhrhpar. I think Edith is a quiet, a bit of a mean woman, a bit straightforward and rude, a bit crazy, but overall not bad, unpretentious and non-judgmental. She met McCready in the Goodneighbor and took him with her because he could navigate her around, and she met Cait by accident when she broke into that shithouse and was given to her by Tommy. It's a little comic that Edith, used to being alone, didn't immediately sense the presence of a stranger and the dog didn't react either - that's why she's not happy with her relaxation because of her companions. In time she'll get used to the fact that she can't always rely on herself.

Some Bea thoughts, because I think of her often. Let's go.
-She's originally from New Jersey, which part I have decided specifically, but I think she's less rural and closer to one of the cities there, at least when she was a baby/toddler.
Since her mother moved them around a lot when she was growing up, the places she's most familiar with are the ones where they stayed for at least a couple months.
-Both of Bea's parents are deceased; Her father died when she was still fairly young, so she doesn't remember him well, but her mother only passed about a year into her time living at the abbey.
Prior to being informed of her mother's death, Bea didn't even know she was still alive.
Bea has no other known living relatives.
-Bea is very conscious of how others look at her, but usually only when they're reacting negatively, she has no gauge for when people are being genuine or looking at her affectionately, and tends to be shocked when others express legitimate interest in her.
-Bea didn't really have a lot of toys growing up, so she's always been a little envious of the people who grew up with Legos and Barbies and Hot Wheels cars.
Bea's favorite toys growing up were a broken claw clip and a rubber alien toy she got out of a gumball machine at a gas station.
She also had a dollar store "Barbie", the type that are made of thin plastic and have messed up faces, but it got lost at some point, and, honestly, she was kind of glad when it disappeared,
And lastly, Bea's unofficial rating of the ghouls;
-Mountain 8/10 (secretly a 10/10) if they're speaking to each other, 0/10 if he broke the fucking tractor again.
-Rain 8/10 when he isn't trying to drag her into the water, -10,000/10 if he tries a bitch one more time.
-Dewdrop 9/10 as close to a perfect rating as the ghouls get, with the guys at least, 4/10 if he's trying to talk her into talking to Mountain after he broke the tractor again.
-Swiss 5/10 she doesn't know him well enough to have a truly negative opinion of him, but there's always time.
-Aether 7.5/10 because he keeps telling her to stop pushing herself as if he's a doctor or something... And, yes, she can confirm her appointment for Monday morning, geez.
-Aeon/Phantom 5/10 for the same reason as Swiss, but also because he keeps nervously reminding her that she needs to take her iron supplements like Aether told her to.
-Cumulus 10/10 no notes.
-Cirrus 7.5/10 because she scares Bea on a fundamental level, but that also makes her respect her more than most of the ghouls.
-Aurora 6.5/10 like Cirrus, she scares her, but in more of a twins from the shining way when she pops up with Aeon to remind her to take her iron.
-Bonus Copia 3/10 because he's her boss and he's always trying to tell her what to do... because he's her boss. Eying him from afar on the UTV/10.

How we feeling about that timeline convo !!!!!!! Ahhhh !!!!!
(fair warning, I am ill. So very ill. Apologies to you and main tag D: )
HI BEANS ^> hiBI YOU CAUGHT MD AF A GREAF TIME <- just woke up from being out cold for about an hour
IT'S SOOOO INTERESTING TO ME SO ILL COPY MY THOUGHTS ON IT FROM SOMEQHERE:
(For context, since the timeline came out at 4am, I was kinda awake in bed for a while without my phone near me. [Literally had my heart pounding from the yuno's birthday lol, I may be a little ill] I was awake for. A long time trying to sleep.)
Inwas thinking about this when I couldn't fucking sleep for hours but it's interesting how Yuno says she's just playing nurse, as if it's just another role to play along for a little while longer
especially how she tells Shidou to shut up lol
"Don't you fucking dare make this into an actual thing you believe I am, I'm just doing what's needed"
Me when the doctor Shidou Kirisaki projects onto others his ideal vision of them!!!! rah!! Me when Yuno hates it when people try to project an ideal version of her onto herself to make themselves feel better!! (though making himself feel better isn't particularly what happened, he was simply telling her what to do with her life and she didn't particularly enjoy it!!)
So those were my original 5 am thoughts. Once I finally sat down and read the translated timeline at about properly at about? 7 am after sleeping, I was like well awoe.
I read Doctor Bunny's tl of it, so this one is kinda about it:
Yuno: Really?
....haha, shut up.
I don't want to think about the future.
And after all, one where I'm involved in something like whether a person lives or dies... Don't make me laugh.
I've been handling Tear Drop lyrics a lot recently while drafting posts for today and these lines genuinely read as Tear Drop lyrics:
Just shut it, will you? You know it all
And
I'm the one who chose, let you and you and you all in
Happy or sad? Why decide?
Where'd you get your half-baked sense of justice
this thought really only came up after some talking with other people, but that last line ah!! She doesn't want to be in charge of dealing with other people's lives in a way a nurse would, acting like a judge because she hates doing exactly that.
and finally
the "I don't want to think about the future" line hurt, okay . Sobbing holds the wall. this reads just like that, "I think I'd like to live up to around 40" question. I don't know. It's just so auejrhr to think about how 1) she's not even sure what she wants to do with her life because she wants to find something she can get absorbed in; 2) what if she really is dead? There's no future for her to look forward to; and (possibly, considering Yuno seems to be heavily depressed) 3) She doesn't think there is a reason to because what's the point?
ALSO so sorry for barely any shidou thoughts I am Yuno Kashiki brain rot forever
(though I think it's still funny that Shidou Kirisaki of all people said Yuno would be a good nurse)

Do you have any clear ideas about what causes ghouls to go feral? There's plenty of pre-war ghouls around who don't appear to be at any immediate risk of it, and plenty who went feral right off the bat, so time seems an unlikely option, but I'm unclear on many of the alternatives.
So – the process of ghoulification is quite poorly understood even in universe. Ghouls tend to be a marginalised and even maligned group (although how much varies significantly from place to place and time to time). There is ... really not a lot of information available even on that, let alone on what makes a person go feral. We know it happens when people are exposed to massive amounts of radiation, but we have little understanding of the variables. Some people die, some people go feral, and some people are just fine ... apparently indefinitely.
The medication used in the Fallout TV series is completely new, and I'm profoundly interested in what it does and where it comes from as it strongly suggests that someone out there has a much better understanding of how this works than anyone seen in any of the stories so far. It's completely mysterious at the moment, although it's worth noting that there were ghoul towns in the NCR, and if anybody had a vested interest in putting some resources behind this problem it would be them.
That said, there are theories.
One you've already noted is time. There was a woman in Nuka-World, Rachel, attempting to research and cure feralisation. She left notes indicating that the information she was able to gather indicated that this was just something that inevitably happened to all ghouls. However, this was anecdotal evidence: it was what people told her rather than what she saw for herself and ... yeah, it doesn't really track with what we've seen. It's the sort of thing people say to fearmonger about ghouls, rather than something that seems to be true.
Another is that it relates to the amount of radiation exposure one has suffered: people with relatively light doses are fine while people with heavier doses become feral. That's possible. Given that it's quite hard to track a lifetime of radiation exposure in the Fallout universe it's hard to conclusively prove or disprove. You will tend to find feral ghouls clustering around, and almost hypnotised by, sources of radiation where they available. Radiation typically heals, and perhaps even nourishes, ghouls so this would seem a little contradictory – but it would mean that the radiation heals their bodies, but destroys their brains.
My biggest source of doubt on this one is that, while they are rare, there are non-feral glowing ones. These people are about as irradiated as it's possible to get ... and yet. I've always wondered if people were confusing symptom with cause on this one. Ghouls who are turning feral are generally distressed and confused. They tend to find radiation comforting, so it's reasonable that people in that state would seek out something that makes them feel good, even if it isn't solving the core problem.
Then there is the case of psychological distress. There's a doctor in Underworld, Barrows, who is researching ghoulification, and he writes this about feral ghouls:
As the reasoning and high order thinking portions of the brain deteriorate, the Post-Human subject becomes increasingly hostile, giving into a carnal need to feed as opposed to the capacity for thinking that reasoning that a typical Necrotic Post-Human retains. It remains unclear exactly what precipitates this change in biology and psychology, but anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that non-social ghouls, or those in isolation, are more prone to the condition. – Fallout 3: Study Of Ferocious Post-Necrotic Dystrophy
This one seems closer to what they're actually trying to do with ghouls. Feral ghouls really only appear as a concept from Fallout 3 onward. There are hostile ghouls way back in the original Fallout, if you go and poke anybody in Necropolis too hard, but they're not really treated as distinct.
While you do find them in other places, the most likely place to find a feral ghoul in Fallout 3 is in the old metro tunnels. There's some environmental storytelling there. Imagine you were on a train when the bombs fell. Imagine you didn't die. But now you're trapped down there, in total darkness. No food, no water. The ceiling has come down in several places. No obvious way out. People screaming and dying all around you. Imagine you still don't die. You can feel your hair falling out and your skin flaking away, but you can't really see what's happening to you. You must think you're going to die – if not from the radiation then of starvation or exposure – but death just never comes. It comes for plenty of other people down there, but not you. Pretty solid reason to fall apart, right?
It fits with the TV series, too, at least where we have any idea what has happened. Cooper Howard/"The Ghoul" was buried alive by an enemy, who seems to have been medicating him to keep him sane as part of the torture (lovely). Martha, the woman who turned feral in front of Lucy, was being held by organ harvesting-slavers.
Conversely, you often find long-lived ghouls amidst strong communities. Necropolis arose from Vault 12. This was absolutely one of Vault-Tec's twisted experiments: the door was designed to stick open, so the residents would be exposed to radiation. It undoubtedly killed a lot of people, but it meant that those who became ghouls did so together, and had access to the other amenities of life. Underworld was founded by people who came out of a public shelter. They were people who wanted to hide from the violence and chaos out on the streets, so they were motivated to stick together and create a community – and they too became ghouls together.
Now. Obviously there are points of contention there too. What counts as psychological distress is going to vary from person to person. Plenty of ghouls lead adventurous lives and seem to be just fine. On the other hand, even becoming a ghoul at all is likely to be a distressing experience.
And there are extreme cases. Coffin Willie was buried alive for months in Fallout 2 and Billy Peabody spent 200 years trapped in a fridge in Fallout 4 with apparently no ill effects. The thing is ... Fallout has always been somewhat satirical in nature. These are both jokes and references, so making too much of them is probably a mistake. But people sometimes do, so ...
The other factor is the possible genetic component. Most people, when exposed to a lot of radiation, just die horribly. People who become ghouls are already a rarity. So it's possible that some people are just resistant to turning feral.
Barrows has this in his notes:
In summary: I theorize that our unnaturally long lifespan is due to a mutation within the autonomic nervous system of certain individuals following exposure to specific combinations of ionizing radiation with wavelengths below 10 picometers. This mutation, it seems, disrupts the normal process of decay in the neurotransmitters along the spinal cord. – Fallout 3, Examination of the Post-Necrotic Human
Something causes some people to develop this specific mutation. While I do not have any reason to believe that this was planned, both Coffin Willie and Billy Peabody come from actual families of ghouls: Willie is the father of your ghoul companion, Lenny, and you meet Billy's parents as part of the Kid in a Fridge quest. So perhaps what we have here is evidence of genetic resilience in some people. They're just good at being ghouls.
And, further to that, there are people who have become ghouls deliberately. I can think of three off the top of my head: Desmond Lockheart in Point Lookout, as well Eddie Winter and Hancock in Fallout 4. There are three cases of people using some kind of drug or controlled exposure to become ghouls, and three success cases from that. We could be looking at survivor bias here, of course, but you'd have to think that the experimental drug wouldn't be trying to create feral ghouls; if it did, that would be a failure.
So it's possible that there's a way to induce the appropriate mutations, and potential resilience. How is the question – but we know everybody was dabbling in unethical science pre-war.
Unfortunately there's no smoking gun for any of this. I am hopeful that the second season of the TV series will talk more about this drug. I love ghoul characters: they're so fascinatingly out of time.

I love the tall Jazz concept, but what I love more is tall Fenton siblings
Jazz has to be taller than Danny, she could be 6"9 or 6"10
Danny could be 6"7
I'd say Danny started growing when he was 16
His ghost form doesn't/hasn't aged though because reasons....
In my mental sinario Dan turned over a new leaf with some help comforting from Jazz and he's 1 or 2+ inches taller than Jazz, like 6"11+
He doesn't have a human identity because he likes staying in the zone more, unless he's looming over amity for some strange reason or visiting Jazz,(Jack or Maddie)
Honestly now that I'm typing it I can see them making time to visit him in the zone
Maybe they feel regret, if they hadn't been so caught up on their ecto experiment and research the portal accident wouldn't have happened, he wouldn't have been so scared to tell them he's part ghost, and they would have had time to notice his school grades were low so he wouldn't have felt he need to cheat
Dani at age 12 is like up to Danny's neck in his original height at age 14, so I'd say she's like 4"10
But when danny has his growth spurt she grows to Danny's original height of 5"5 when she reaches 14
I guess some part of her want to seen as a younger sibling(because of the whole vlad clone replacement fake family, she wants a real one, so she emotionally doesn't allow herself to grow faster than danny, jazz & Dan) and she still hasn't hit her growth spurt like Danny did, but when she does or allows herself to she'll 1 or 1 1/2 inch shorter and danny being
She has a ligit human identity which has been set up by Tucker, Technus and Desiree......, let's say she was at boarding school from 11 and below
Does Wisconsin have a boarding school?
Well it does now, she was being taken care of by Vlad (who had made up with the fentons)
He sponsors them now....(these dots are really me just holding back from explaining 😭)
Dani also travels alot (paid by Vlad of course) and she trusted to take care of herself, from her past roaming experience (plus she's a fenton/phantom 💪) she visits when she wants to and on holidays
I'd like to say her obsession is freedom, she can be who she wants to be and not someone she failed to be, (this is also why I think that mind control wouldn't work on her like Danny) which is also why I give her a water core since unbound it can mold into anything
Let's say Vlads ghost obsession was making him crazy, all that time he was alone with that ecto achnee made his obsession seeking out kin someone who'd understand him, aka Danny
Especially when he wanted something but he didn't know what, so he got rich to try to fill the void, and then when he found something that would fill it aka Danny he wanted him to join him
Honestly all that time alone, with his doctors not know what the hell is wrong with him, and him having to figure out his powers blind, his feeling of abandonment from Jack & maddie, the root of the problem being Jack and seeing Jack happily with a family
Made him even crazy
Making him want to steal from Jack, aka wanting Maddie and Danny
(I know I didn't explain this as best as I wanted, but this is not what I came here for)
He gives up the mayor seat to a nice guy who like to drink tea, has a mustache and looks like he gives nice hugs
Anywho as I said he sponsors the fentons who in turn sponsors Amity park with ghost tech, ghost shields in certain places
in the future after canon (beside the whole identity reveal) there should be a Amity park announcement that can pic up different ecto signatures that Maddie and Jack put in like
" ANNOUNCEMENT CODE RED LVL 3 Ghost Snake"
"ANNOUNCEMENT AMBER IS HAVING A CONCERT IN AMITYS PARK 3RD PARK AT 7PM"
Also what if they have like a GhostGo app (like pokemon go) Let's say Tucker created it and if you see a ghost you can take a picture of them and it'll be added to you own personal database
I imagine Youngblood being rare cause only children and child at heart can see him, but even if they take a picture of where he is he'll still show up blank, but they have the option to draw him
Anyways I can imagine after everyone is grown up Maddie and Jack start traveling to paranormal places to research ghost activity
(I've also have in my headcanon from someone else, that years ago before the portal they went to a event in Gotham to get Bruce Wayne to sponsor them and he laughed in their face)
.......
Reasons why Danny's ghost form isn't aging
Even tho he knows he wont turn evil like Dan there's still some uncertainty mentally that's holding him back, like no one being able to stop him of he turned evil, he doesn't like being strong......
He know he wont be like Dan (which is why his human form is aging to an extent) but in his ghost form there still that lil fear of becoming evil and that's stopping his ghost form from aging and looking like Dan
Like around 18 years old he is crowned crown prince(he was already a prince, but now they're really getting him ready for the throne" and he starts learning about ghost history and kingly stuff, but then he learns that the whole tittle comes with a power boost (I've read a fanfic that does this and loved it) and now that too powerful to stop if he turns evil is slowly creeping up the just a lil 🤏
The more I explain this the more it Branches off into my other mental sinarios I was just trying to tell the height differences......
Well....The whole town is liminal, some more than others and they are sick of the Justice league not taking them seriously and answering their pleas. Like after the whole town went into the zone and they still didn't help, they gave up on them and now hold a strong disgust towards them
Ok im done, I really had to force myself to stop typing this is not what I came here to explain....
Just one more thing
I should mention that Danny wanted to be an astronaut, but because of the ecto in his blood he can't so he stuck with being a Nasa engineer (I think they don't need your medical history for that) plus he can fly to space any time he wants
In the zone Dan is called Lord Phantom, older brother of (crown) Prince Phantom, Jazz would be called Princess Jazz, but I don't want the justice league to figure out their identity, like I want it impossible unless they're trusted enough to be told
But once again amitians don't like the justice league so....... she's called High Princess.
Dani could be called Princess Dani or princess Phantom
(She's called Ella in her human form)
18 + 5 = 23/24 when he's with nasa(still dodging being crowned, basically king without the crown, he'll take it soon... maybe that's why the justice league comes knocking [like that one fanfic where all the magic users feel it] after a long time of connecting to Amity park), Jazz would be 25/26 psychologist in Gotham, just meeting or going out with Jason, Dani is traveling places hard to reach, and is in ghost knight training. Don't know what Dan would be doing? Or Sam, Tucker & Valarie would be outside the zone
I imagine the fenton siblings towering over the Wayne's/batfam if she ever introduces them, Honestly still mad at frickin Bruce from friendly neighborhood vigilante ch. 14
Anyways the reason for this is because of the recent tall jazz fanfic had my mind running.
........This is posted some days later, I really went off track and didn't even want to post it anymore. I really just came to talk about the heights. The only reason why I finished it is because of another headcanon that formed while I was typing this, which will be in part 2 !
