fabian Does get it in his head that he needs to be a Perfect Son - he fucked up being a girl and needs to make it up by honoring his parents. he needs to be a good swordsman for his mom and a good pirate for his dad and make them proud. of course, they will love him no matter what but he's 13 and has anxiety and it takes him a long time to realize that - he's still figuring it out by the end of junior year

when he starts at aguefort he is so nervous that people will misgender him, and so introduces himelf as with his full chosen name and "son of bill seacaster" to avoid that as much as possible. he isnt shy about correcting people but it gets tiring after a while. the bad kids help by beating him to it and giving transphobes the dirtiest looks. riz likes to use prestidigitation to make their food taste like shit

the funny thing with ranko is that, tho i may not personally like it idgaf that she likes jin, because in fact it’s waht feeds what i liked about her in the first place. now clarifying so my words don’t get twisted. 

i already said what i like abt characters like her, casca, gorn, roberto etc in that one post. and that i’ve also had compared her to nanami/rei wrt to older siblings (not so much as characters but as a sort of relationship archetype in shoujo). but in all honesty she’s the person with the LEAST reason in both of those group to be this obsessed (adjusted for tone and genre obv) with anybody, so imo that makes her stubborness so much nonsensical and apparent, and i find that funny. casca got a new life, gorn was liberated from ghost’s influence, got to remember one of the most valued moments of his life after being basically brainwashed, so on and so forth. what did ranko get? jin taught her a sport. and was treated the normal way an older brother does to a younger sister. like nanami and rei were in an active abuse situation.

going back to paragraph 2, despite the difference in gravity lol those new identities theyre granted do serve a similar function on a relationship level, and behave similarly too, as i said in the og post: the same attributes they feed from their object of admiration are the same thing that makes them progressively unreachable, etc. BUT, again what’s different about her from them is that, ironically despite having the relationship with the lowest stakes out of them, she gets like, the crystalization of what those admiration=depersonalization relationships are. that lunarian guy i dont remember the name of? he’s real. griffith? touga? DEAD. dead for like half of the series lol. so what is he not? a threat, anymore. his image exists only in memory and legacy. and so, you know what people don’t consider dead people to be for some reason? pieces of trash. all your shitty behaviour and your harrassing of teenagers and combativeness disappear in thin air when your dead, and only your feats and how nice you were are remembered. he can’t fail or disappoint anyone or lose shine anymore because he’s freezed foreven in the ice of idolization and idealization. what does that make him into, specially in relation to ranko? perfectly and utterly unreachable. like what is she gonna do? he can’t literally be less romanceable than when hes dead, and it grants me peace of mind that nothing is gonna happen xd.

what does that benefit me, you ask. well aside from my interest in that *kind* of dynamic (of the other post), in the most simplest terms is that i then dont have to worry about her being a weirdo or him reciprocating. like what is she gonna do? he can’t literally be less romanceable than when hes dead, and it grants me peace of mind that nothing is gonna happen AND i get the weirdo girl anyways lol. her self-made, completely avoidable, dead-ended suffering is like the key of why i find her entertaining. while she’s serious, talented enough, strong willed and does quite well for the most part of the series, that sliiiight, subtle kiss of misfortune (not completely unrelated to her hubris lol) in JUST the right moments, that subtextual daunting knowledge that she will be forever unfulfilled, stopped RIGHT Before is soooo *chef kiss* funny as hell. lovely.

this is going to contain spoilers for Entropic Float. i highly recommend you play it - its free on steam and itch! the entire cast is queer! its about timeloops and the mortifying ordeal of being known, heavily centering on finding out who the characters are! i can repeat these three sentences in my sleep because thats my most basic sales pitch that i give because theres not much else i can say without going into spoiler territory (because im not very good at it)

alrighty so, Kanatsune Ame.

funnily enough, youre right for almost definitely the wrong reasons to call him Ame - Kanatsune is his first name, but because his codename is Kanatsun, and because he is an orphan and has no other family, his last name, Ame, is the one that is more personal to him.

this guy is so deeply out of touch with himself it hurts.

in Entropic Float, in order to get to the true ending, you first have eighteen normal endings to get through - nine routes, each with a No Entropy ending and Entropy ending. for each of the protagonists, there are three routes - morning, noon, and night. (its also coded so that the first four endings you get are tied to your system time. after youve completed four endings, youre free to choose the time slot. how cool is that???)

in each loop, the people present are different.

when you play as Amelie Macon, Ame is present as another person in the loop. he is fairly cool - save for an occasional moment of "if i were to try solving a kitchen puzzle, the rest of you would soon be running in fear from a fire" or "i will not go anywhere near the bug (except for when i hear people near the bug talking about Anomalies, which are my area of expertise)", some things he does are "save Loam and Amelie from Entropy sludge but die in it himself with a horrific scream" and "kill Amelie to make sure she isnt the cause of the Anomaly while also delivering a line that makes me completely feral"

when you play as Rashmi Jamil, two times out of three Ame is present as Rashmi's Floater (the third time hes just absent, i wonder why (i know exactly why)) - he remembers all the loops that havent been lost to Entropy, but cant give clear information. this has been my first impression of him, and while i didnt think "is he like, the spirit of the Anomaly" exactly, that was basically the way i felt. he tells you how bad the Entropy levels are, and can say things that are common across loops - one example being "this is one of the more accurate ways Stephanie describes her powers when she comes clean about them".

when you play as Ame, you get access to his thoughts.

he clarifies his own thoughts arent sarcastic

mister hero complex you literally went into your field to Help People. perhaps initially more in the abstract but also how cant you see that you care

point is, on Ame's routes, it becomes crystal clear how much of a wet paper towel he is. like, when Rashmi dances for him because the loop doesnt matter anymore and theyd like to relax about it, he says to their face that "its so sad that i dont really have the eye for the true awe of art anymore" while not taking his eyes off them. also sir you literally spend your free time going to whatever performances you can get tickets for. he calls himself heartless, but when you get to see his memories, a persistent theme in them is "it hurts".

yohane (top left) is the emo twink rival with a cool older sister and daddy issues, allumi (top right) is the snappy badass arranged fiancée, and hana (bottom centre) is the protagonist. he has none of his father's chill and is a little bastard so I can't say he's anything like yoh

these parallels are so funny to me because flowers began serialization in 2012. over ten years after the original manga started. takei knew he had to know what he'd created with yoh and ren and he somehow? doubled down? like this is a completely real, unedited (except for any errors in fan translation) page from flowers

yohane is literally just a bl protagonist stuck in a shonen battle world and I Do Not Know why takei wrote him like that. and then allumi is just anna but more reality tv and I love her so much she's so deviantartcoded. asakura hana and the bad bitches he pulled by being the Worst.

I've literally heard allumi described as "someone's fan oc who wound up in canon" and they meant it as a negative thing. wrong she is wonderful

i have a bunch of ocs. Many are still in drafts cuz ive been busy with fan works. But i have two to 3 series one i am trying to turn into an animation series (@the-mis-adventurers ) and another that is gonna be a collab comic series with @strawberry-mangoprincess (she's more active one her Insta compared to me lol) one is just merely a fun concept i think about every now and then.

Overall my ocs are inspired by other fictional characters. mainly from whatever media i consume and enjoy.

Starting with the concept one.

I only have two ocs made for it so far. Ember and Crystal. They are sisters with fire and ice elemental powers hence their names. Ember like fire embers and crystal like ice Crystals. Orphans dunno who there parents were. Not clear if their powers ran in the family/curse/etc.

Ember always had trouble controlling her powers especially with having a fiery temper. She's the more friendlier sibling however. Crystal despises her ice powers. She has an easier time hiding them so she can blend in with normal people. (I gotta draw them again sometime)

Crystal doesnt hate her sister but isn't close to her either. Feeling the need to take care of her since she's the last of kin.

In a nutshell i want this series to be about the power of friendship (i blame my mlp phase for this-)

There's four main characters. All girls bc why not?

Their names are mink, jing, Raine and jennifer.

Mink is the more calm and responsible one out of her friends. Mom friend type. Her hair was actually blonde but turned pink to unknown reasons. (I took inspiration from lofi music when creating her) She proudly owns a pet turtle named fern. Will kick butt if her friends are hurt.

Jing is a goth who enjoys making music. she plans on startd her own band someday. (Eventually she does with her friends. Its called rock n pop. Pending title for now) has a rivalry with another oc of mines, Lillian. Loves to scare the others with pranks and horror movies.

Raine is the artist of the group. She tends to break the fourth wall whenever she wants. Also whatever she draws with her paint brush becomes real. her name is also a pun. Raine strom. (You can see her on my tumblr header harassing my old sona) Very zany in a good way. Has a crush on a dense boi*

Jennifer is a social butterfly. Heart's too big for her sleeve. Pacifist. Tends to let wild animals in the house. And thats how she got a pet goat who may or may not actually be one. Her mother wishes she'd be more responsible.

Now for some reccuring characters-

Lillian - famous star, used to be childhood friends with jing. And now they hate eachothers guts. Primadonna gurrrrllll. All she ever wanted was the worrrrldddd(Took alot of inspiration from the song for her) is an attention hog and will do anything to be popular.

*Milo - Also known as peppermint boi/j. But seriously look at his color pallet-. He does enjoy mints and always passing one out to people. Very dense and doesn't get when he is getting on someone nerves. Just as zany as raine. Uber positive. Don't let him get too excited tho. Cuz he'll LITERALLY explode.

Cole - college drop out. Wonders why the haystack milo and raine won't leave him be. Also tends to be their third wheel on their 'not' dates. He hates it. Very moody. Legend has it he's never laughed or smiled before.

Derek - just some rich dude. Comes up with so many back stories like Horst from ratatouille so its hard to tell which is fake and what is real. Tries really hard for Jennifer to fall for him but doesn't work out.

I already rambled to you about max and min. Buttt I can tell you a it more about them at least about their absent/missing parents

Thymes (pronounced Times) and Divid are the twins and Equan’s Parents.

They are both scientists who worked for [REDACTED]. Thymes and Divid were both pretty much crazy but in a ‘not so dangerous’ type of way.  always ready to invent stuff even if it held no actual purpose.

It did concern them greatly when Equan started going through a Frankenstein phase. At least they assumed it was. Probably didn’t help much they were pretty much working even at home leaving their kids pretty much unattended(And boy oh boy did they learn…)

And sadly disappeared due to unknown circumstances.

card technology and how LDS basically owns the market on not only real solid vision systems but also cards

this is gonna be a wordy post and i apologize in advance. ok first off i just wanna say i am probably the only person who thinks about this shit but i find world stuff and the like interesting to think about. call me obsessed, idc, ive watched arc v 5 times and i just really wanna share this.

it is canon that standard did not start with the other summoning methods, that they are relatively new. we arent ever told what cards are made out of specifically- but considering past shows and their connection to spirits we can assume they arent just simply cards. EX- gx and the crystal beast cards being made from actual gems.

for arc v, id say its the ‘energy signature’ of a card. reiji is shown to have technology that is able to read energy and also tell what kind of energy it is. He also uses a machine to copy pendulum monster cards and they are similar to the originals but not exactly the same. so either the ‘energy’ is the monster spirit itself, or its the magic nonsense that allows it to summon said spirit. either way- a card is not simple to make in the universe.

so that begs the question- how did LDS manage to get the other summoning methods?

well its shown that LDS actually has dimension hopping technology, though it seems rough and unfinished, i have no doubt reiji tried to use it again after his initial teleport to academia. whether he went there physically or not idk, but i theorize he was able to capture or hone in on the cards of those dimensions and copy them the same way he copied yuyas pendulum monsters.

except the LDS fusion/xyz/synchro cards are all weaker than the originals because he probably had limited data.

for fusion its easy to back this up since, anyone from standard who uses fusion doesnt actually use a regular ‘polymerization’ card- because reiji wasnt able to copy it one for one... (your probably thinking- what about kachidoki? well ill get back to that)

Even other characters like yuya, yuzu, and reiji himself are shown to not actually be able to use ‘polymerization’ more than once. standard users who have fusion monsters rely on other methods such as deck themed fusion cards, monster effects, or in the case of reiji: contract cards

this extends to the other methods too but in more subtle ways. hokuto is only able to xyz summon after changing his monsters levels, yaiba can only synchro summon using effects that treat monsters like tuners (both him and gon only have one tuner in their decks at the start) you could also argue that the fact they are missing ‘rank up’ cards or any support magic cards for synchro monsters as another way in which standard made xyz/synchro are weaker.

so- where the fuck am i going with this? well LDS is shown to be the only thing with access to these other cards. its not clear, but it looks like using the method can take a toll on the users body and i do not know if thats a matter of energy needed to summon a monster and having to train ones body or what but-

these cards are not easy to make, and there are limited copies in stock.

other summoning method cards are expensive to buy in standard. why am i saying this? well one- yu show duel school is shown to not have access to any, shuzo himself says hes never used the cards, and its possible that its because he cant afford it. none of the other schools in the tournament use other summoning methods. that is except...

kachidoki and his school.

not only that, but they also have a regular ‘polymerization’ card. your probably thinking this is where all this falls apart. but think about it- ryozanpaku is shown to be probably the second most popular and highest grossing duel school. its not a stretch to think they PAID LDS a hefty sum of money for their own stock of cards. and what did LDS give them? their first copies of the ‘polymerization’ cards. they are weaker but relatively work the same- but most of the students still rely on it AND monster effects.

but if thats the case- if these cards cost so much and only LDS has access to them... not only do they now own that market, theyve basically created a huge gap and money cap for players of the game in standard. people arent gonna wanna go to a duel school that does not have the means to teach them these other methods of play. standard summoning becomes a laughing stock- no one can win with just standard summoning! duel schools start going out of business because they simply lack students. LDS and only a FEW other schools remain and all of them focus on those methods- not standard summoning...

LDS has complete and total control of the market.

of course arc v doesnt show us if anywhere else in the standard dimension has this tech but if we’ve seen anything from reira- its quite likely japan is the most advanced in this field, as weapons and cards seem to go hand in hand because of their innate power to destroy... ANYWAYS

what does this mean for the game in standard? well if things kept going how they were its quite possible the level of entry into the game becomes so high that you have to be born with privilege to even have a chance at grabbing a spot and not being immediately kicked out.

but something more interesting- and the real like theory part i guess is... when something becomes too expensive to get- ppl start making knock offs. people start making fake cards, some of them work on the duel disk- others do not, but the older the card the easier to copy and cheat the duel disk code. suddenly theres a bunch of copies of strong ishijimas cards, or even yusho’s cards. (thats how the bully managed to make an exact replica of strong ishijimas deck)

theres just a group of people now who just dont even use duel disk and just play on mats- denounce the new summoning method and actively hate what the game has become- but its still seen as lesser... and still other methods cannot be copied.

theres no real end to this theory beyond the fact that this shit is kinda messed up and mirrors shit in our world to an eerie point but like... uh i hope you enjoyed this? i like thinking of the game duel monsters in the world of arc v instead of the normal ass card game that it is irl so-- uh yeah pls tell me what you think about this and add on to it if you have something to share! sorry for the long post--

The highest con of bennett he had ever gotten is probably c1. One day the paimon's bargain shop offered bennett as their monthly character. Kyojuro had never been so excited over a game before. He usually perks up over academics and not this kind of thing. But it's bennett, the character he admires the most.

Unfortunately he couldnt get it due to low currency. He had never feel so sad in his life.

Type of player :

Carefully reads every stories and listens to their lines attentively. He finds it amazing how the company spent their everything on this game. It amazes him. From the stories, lores and lines, he truly appreciates it.

Balance his team pretty well. He mains bennett so he doesnt need that much of a healer in his team.

Enjoys bennett's hangout very much!! He tried to not get him killed by the dungeon's trap but ended up having to sacrifice him which ultimately ends the route. He had never felt so down and guilty before.

Not much of a damage dealer. He prefers to play it in normal mode and doesnt care that much about one shotting monster.

He feeds his character three meals a day!! If only there's a sleep option, he would be sending bennett to sleep first before the rest.

Everyone loves his teapot

Shinobu : found the game while she's scrolling through the app store out of boredom. Initially she played it on her phone but due to the fps and a really bad ping, so bad that douma wouldnt find her interesting anymore, she finally downloaded the game on her pc where things has starting to get real

Uzui also plays honkai impact and guns girl Z so when he saw the unknown god at the intro , he was not surprised.

hey i just wanna say the long posts genuinely make my day. also can you talk more about gordon freeman character because the way you write him makes me quake in my gay little boots

i would love to talk about gordon freeman. thank u for the opportunity

the first thing i need to communicate about gordon is that this dude sucks. and i say this in the fondest way possible. he is a bitch from the moment he drops into the world until the moment he goes out. if you dont believe me, give it another watch! gordons mouthy and rude for no real reason, at least so far as “being a regular dude on his way into work” goes, and this dude goes around calling his coworkers names with zero provocation. (of course, we all know that the reason is because its a funny guy improv stream that borrows a bit from freemans mind, but im talkin from a character sense.)

but my argument isnt just that gordon freeman sucks. its that he sucks in a very specific way that i find insanely endearing. i love this dude. i love to hate him. hes awful in a very mundane sense - weve all known a guy like this, at least if youve spent too much time online - and its cathartic to watch him suffer because of it.

gordons a smart guy. as written, hes gotta be - hes a recent MIT grad, on his way to work at a top-secret research facility to do weird shit with crystals and theoretical physics. but the thing about smart guys is that theyre often......selectively intelligent. we can see this in the way that he has a hard time navigating his surroundings, and needs the science crew to guide him through it and keep him alive.

this is one of those things that is a natural consequence of somebody going through the game for the first time, but that i am interpreting as “gordon is kind of stupid sometimes”. its uncharitable but its not like he doesnt deserve it. he likes to boss around the crew as if he knows what hes doing, when he often very much does not, and is fond of demeaning their intelligence. hes real bad about this with tommy in particular, treating him like hes a kid whos playing at being a scientist when tommy is actually a decade older than him. all i am saying is that gordon ought to stay humble. hes awful cocky when he perceives himself as better than others.

which, i think, tracks with how cocky he gets when he gives up on the whole “well-meaning citizen” thing and just unloads bullets into people. he puts up a front of being a Nice Guy, you know, just some dude caught in a bad situation who doesnt like seeing his companions obliterate every NPC they come across, but that doesnt stop him from cackling like a fucking madman and mowing down aliens (and soldiers) every once in awhile. when he stops seeing himself as helpless and starts seeing himself as the one in control, the gloves come off. he gets mean. and i think thats very sexy of him

this, among other things, is why i am insistent that gordon freeman is a control freak. he desperately wants to be in control of the situation at all times, shepherding around the science crew primarily by bitching at them, but its of limited success. its futile. sisyphean. tommy, coomer, bubby, and benrey exist almost to torment him with exactly the thing that would make him suffer the most: a gaggle of people running around causing problems for him, but he cant go anywhere without them b/c hes reliant on them to make it out alive.

its perpetual suffering, and its cathartic to watch. and funny, too. and if youre a little weirdo like me, its very, very enjoyable. how twisted up he gets when nobodys listening to him! how sweaty and frazzled he must look. its cute, and it also makes me want to reach through the screen and shake him and tell him to just be a little nicer. he wants control but he doesnt know how to attain it, he doesnt know how to play nice like a real leader. i think its a neat contrast to gordon freeman as we know him in HL2, where he literally is the leader of the resistance and has to live up to it. this is gordon freeman but if he was moe through helplessness.

“helpless” is, i think, a great way to describe him. a core bit of imagery in half life is this sense of railroadedness and helplessness, with gordon freeman being put into play like a chess piece and having no choice but to move forward. and this iteration of gordon leans into that by being totally dependent on the science crew in order to make progress and Not Die. and hes also subject to the whims of benrey, local eldritch weirdo who has basically made it his life mission to fuck with gordon.

gordons anxieties dont help with that. if he wasnt so fun to stress out and fuck with, the science crew probably wouldnt do it so much! too bad for him that they like fucking with him so much that he was driven into a panic attack (multiple times, even, depending on your interpretation). hes got that real neurotic mindset. always worrying about shit that could go wrong, and attempting to exert control over his surroundings in an effort to control the anxiety.

IMO the real way to nail the Neurotic Gordon Freeman Experience is to combine the ever-present anxiety with his pervasive sense of self-loathing. he openly states that he has no friends and nobody seems to like him, and to that, i really gotta say, i wonder why. he doesnt really seem to factor in that hes kind of a bitch, and has way too high an estimation of his own intelligence relative to everybody elses. its really one of the worst ways to be: aware that people dont like you, but unaware of exactly why. if he was like, 10% nicer, he probably wouldnt have had half as many issues getting through black mesa, but also, its funny to see him squawking his way through the game. so, you know.

its stuff like that that makes me headcanon him as a dude with low self-esteem in general. convinced that hes not likable, not attractive, out of his element......impostor syndrome, except that theres some truth to it. this is a guy who truly does not realize how good he has it: he really is just an average shitty dude, and yet, somehow, benrey took a shine to him. some poor motherfucker out there actually likes him and wants to suck his dick. thats dedication

also, i keep bringing up “repression” when i talk about gordon. and hopefully, what ive been talking about helps explain why. he has a strong desire to be a regular dude, not just murdering his way through black mesa, but if hes pushed hard enough he leans into it. gets bossy. picks up a cigar off a dead soldier and takes a long drag, before smacking forzen around with a pistol and ordering him around. gordon freeman is a regular, kind of anxious guy who likes competitive swimming and streaming on justin.tv and making anime references, and he is also a guy who takes a filthy pleasure in making a trained soldier his bitch. and i didnt make up any of this shit - this is purestrain canon, baby. this is a guy with problems

to me, this screams the kind of guy who represses a lot of shit b/c he doesnt feel like its morally decent. you run into this guy a lot online: the wokeboy, the online leftist, the guy who spends too much time on social media websites. (like reddit. i think he would actively use reddit and he would never get any appreciable amount of karma but he never stops posting. its sisyphean! cathartic.) from the way he talks about “bootboys”, i think it tracks. he knows about imperialism, he knows about feminism, but at the end of the day hes your average american white dude who struggles with internalizing it.

a lot of those dudes struggle with sex and gender issues. (dont we all.) when youre trying to be a Good Person(tm), you spend a lot of time thinking about your own relationship to sex and kink and all that shit. and i maintain that a too-online dude who buries a lot of his control freak tendencies would also try to bury a lot of weird sexual shit in an attempt to seem Normal and Well-Adjusted and not like a little freak. i justify this by the sheer number of times gordon blurts out weird sex shit as a joke. there are only two outcomes to making that many piss jokes: either youre secretly a piss guy, or you lathe-of-heaven yourself into becoming one. i will stand by this

ive talked a lot about why this dude sucks. now, let me talk to you about what makes gordon so much fun to write. first things first: hes funny! a subjective evaluation, yeah, but both in- and out-of-character, hes aiming to be funny. and being the straight man to everybody else plays into that whole “helplessness” thing.

secondly: underneath it all, there is a good dude under there. gordon worries when his companions get hurt, he tries to clean them off and patch them up, and hes got his lil leftist heart in the right place. you could even read a lot of his bossy, bitchy demeanor as him wanting to make sure everyone gets out okay and doesnt hurt themselves. when it comes to animals and anti-imperialist sentiment, gordons a pretty good guy.

hes the kind of guy who would probably see a dog on the street and get excited and play with it, but would get really prickly about the correct way to put dishes in the dishwasher. control freak tendencies.

finally, subjecting such a miserable, tormented guy to even more psychological anguish is really, really fun. you feel a little bad for him, but he kind of deserves it. so many problems he goes through are purely of his own making, and if gordon would just relax and quit trying to hard to maintain control - of himself, of the people around him - and own up to having Problems and Issues, he would be a happier guy. but thats why its fun to bend him until he breaks. being a little control freak myself, putting gordon freeman thru psychosexual torment is cathartic.

when it comes to writing his thought processes, the fact that he is canonically some kind of psychotic (yes, i am boldly claiming this. suck me) and i am also canonically some kind of psychotic makes it easier to write what i think his thought processes are. i just give him my brain issues of “getting lost in thought” and “overthinking fucking everything”. a touch of paranoia helps. even if i dont explicitly label him as schizophrenic please know that i am writing him as a paranoid little nutcase at all times because, uh, you write what you know.

paranoid. anxious. of the mindset that everyones out to get him (which isnt helpful when everyone is out to get him). repressed and deeply Not Normal but trying so very fucking hard to be normal and well-adjusted. a control freak with sadistic tendencies who also really, really likes getting bullied by his best frenemy. a hapless little nerd who sounds really cute when his voice starts to break from nerves. and, most importantly, a dumb jock. do not ever forget this.

fuck it, lets talk about some Silver Eyed Warrior!Roman cause lord knows i need some comfort character content in this place.

- for one, Roman DOES know stories about people with Silver Eyes. an older lady in Mantle would tell him about their magic and strength and abilities when he went shopping at her bakery for bread n such. he just never believed a single word of it.

- magic? miracles? that’s for desperate people. and Roman isnt desperate. he can take care of himself just fine, with or without magical eyes.

- he dove deeper into this disbelief when he went half blind in a nasty accident involving his first real crime in stealing large crates of Dust, when a Fire Dust Crystal exploded at his feet. he considers himself lucky it only took an eye, but now that “magic” he had before must be gone. he only has one eye.

- because of his disbelief, Roman has been actually shoving his magic down and down into himself so he can ignore it and not properly figure it out. so when the whole “eaten by Grimm thing” happens, all Roman can think is that he would do anything to keep living. keep surviving.

- instead of an explosion, its Roman’s bright flash of Silver Eye magic that causes the ship to go down, with the Grimm thrashing about only to end up essentially spitting Roman out overboard and disappearing into the usual pile of smoke and ash.

- essentially this leads into my own Roman Lives AU which i really need to get into more, but things happen sorta like normal in canon. Roman just manages to catch both Ozpin-post-reincarnation-thing and Maria’s eye cause “you have silver eyes” n all that jazz.

- Maria actually offered Roman a chance to train with her and Ruby, but he declined.

- after everything that happened at Beacon, and how that magic literally saved his life, Roman definitely believes those stories now. but he still doesn’t actually use that Silver Eyed Warrior magic he has. doesnt train it either. he just doesn’t feel he needs it. Roman is strong, he can take care of himself, with or without magic. he’s done it before, and he’ll keep doing it till the Brothers themselves strike him down.

- less serious, Roman absolutely thought his eyes were grey for the first like 4 years of his life. when he found out they were shiny silver he literally couldnt figure out the difference. but hey! maybe that’s a good thing! at least then no one can tell he has these “special eyes” or whatever if they just think they’re grey!

- Roman HAS used his Silver Eyes before. to save Neo. When? Idk I just know it happened and that when Neo asked about it, Roman just shrugged.

“How am I supposed to know? I think it’s just my Semblance.” His smirk is cocky and confident just like the rest of his body. “Pretty powerful stuff, huh?”

- Until Roman unlocked his actual Semblance (Silver Tongue), he always thought those little flashes of bright white light that took down Grimm were just his Semblance. so when he DID actually unlock his Semblance, he...wasn’t sure WHAT that magic stuff was. so he mostly just ignored it.

- tbh, Roman probably refused to help the others when they mentioned he has Silver Eyes too so he could do some good.

“Listen, Red, just because you love waltzing into danger to activate your superpowers, doesn’t mean I want anything to do with this myself.” He says firmly, narrowing his eyes at the huntress in training. “I’m not here to fulfill a destiny or whatever. I’m here to survive. So you can keep walking your way right into danger just fine, no skin off my back, but I have at least SOME self preservation I’d like to keep.”

And that’s sorta all I got rn. Maybe finally I can fulfill my desires to actually DRAW Roman with silver eyes.

Get To Know My Spirit Family

Dawn, the Selkie

This is my first post so you all can get to know my spirit family. First up, is Dawn!

Appearance:

Dawn has golden-tanned skinned with freckles covering her whole body. She stands at 5'8" in her human-form, with reddish-brown hair flowing down past her bottom. Dawn's hair always seems to be damp from always visiting the near-by water sources. Her eyes are a bright ocean green and always have a sparkling to them.

Dawn is 645! That's 25 in human years!

@cas-backwards-tie asked "How did you meet your selkie?"

Dawn has secretly been with me since 2017 when I lived in Florida. She stumbled upon me when I was visiting Delray Beach. I was in the water and formed a crown out of seaweed, and she knew she was going to be my friend for life.

She was there at Ella's birth and gave me strength, and cheered from the sidelines. I asked her what it was like and she said; "I was so proud of you because of the way you handled it with grace and strength!".

But, Dawn did not make herself known until two years after the first time she saw me! We were at my mom's house during September 2019, and Ella was playing. My mom can sense spirits too, and said "Ella is playing with a Dawn?" I was terrified at first! Cause like who and what is this Dawn?! Haha.

My dear friend, @demonwitchbitch sent her hellhound over to investigate. All we knew at first was this spirit's name was Dawn, she was playing with Ella, and Ella could say her name!

Dawn was my 4th companion to join our family! After visiting with Mai, and her hellhound, Dawn had promised not to replace Ella with a Selkie baby. But, at this time, we did not know she was here from the beginning.

After asking her why she waited to reveal herself, she stated "I was waiting to reveal myself until you were ready because you needed to learn more about spirits first".

Her Family and Pod

Dawn doesnt really like to discuss her family because of what theyve said when she first saw me. Even though they are near the cost of Florida, she doesnt like to visit.

Dawn wanted me to put in what she told me; "My Pod didnt like me working with humans, so I decided to be with you forever."

During our talk about her Pod, Dawn told me that she likes to visit the lake here often, instead of heading home. She says "It isn't the same, but I enjoy it a lot"

Along with visiting the lake, I asked what Dawn's favorite thing to do is; she says "My favorite thing to do is work with you!" I love her, y'all. Thats my girl!! In her free time, Dawn enjoys playing with my toddler faerie, my lunar moth fae, and my daughter Ella.

I also asked what have been Dawn's favorite movies from our Saturday Movie Nights. "My favorites are Pride and Prejudice, but the most-played favorites is Perks of Being a Wallflower."

Magic and Spellwork

As Dawn and I have discussed before, Dawn uses Sea and Star Magic. For this post, I asked if she has learned anything knew!

Dawn and I enjoy doing many things together. We do basically every day, normal activities. This includes playing with Ella, cleaning, watching movies, and showering together. (No, not in the way you think!!) I have troubles with my depression and sometimes dont take care of my body properly. Knowing Dawn will be there to help and talk with me, gives me the extra boost to shower!

We also go for walks to look at the moon and stars. As well as, listen to music and dance.

Im trying to plan an End-Of-Summer-Gettaway in the next few weeks, and go to a nearby lake. I want to have a good day with my family and spirit family to end out the summer. Plus, I really want to see Dawn and her lake.

* From now on he's always cowering behind MC when something spooks him, and threatens Zen or Seven with MC when they tease him

* He got a new role as the villain that shoots the hero at the final scene-the director asked him to use a real gun but without any bullets inside to 'make it more realistic', or so he said

* Well, Zen has never even held a gun before; no just because he rode a motorcycle doesnt mean he was some gangster that shot up banks, like Seven insists he must've

* So when he comes home baffled, flopping down on the couch besides MC, they of course ask him what's wrong, why he's frowning the way he did.

* When he explains what's wrong, MC shrugs. 'That's all? I can teach you' they say, and shoot up from the couch, leaving Zen to stare at their retreating figure with wide eyes.

* MC...would teach him how to use a gun? Sure they were really cool and he could tell they feared near next to nothing, but guns...?

* Well, he's even more baffled when MC comes out of their bedroom with a gun in each hand, twirling them around their fingers with practices ease

* 'Come on, get up' they say and not to the backdoor, 'we're going to learn how to shoot-without bullets though, because while I love you, I don't trust you with a loaded gun just yet' they add with a teasing smirk.

* Well, Zen follows along like a wobbly noodle, his hands shaking as MC hands him a pistol, guiding him through to the correct stance and hold of it. He has so, so many questions, but none of them come out, lodged in his throat like a fish bone.

* He can't say he hates this though-the way MC stands behind him, leaning one leg between his to bend his knees, how they wrap their hands around his forearms, snaking from behind his back as they hold the gun together, MC's voice breathy beside his ear.

* "Baby...be honest with me. Are you some secret foreign spy or something?"

* "That's for me to know and for you to find out" they say with a teasing wink, their accent thicker than usual, and oh boy-if Zen has a Beast inside him, then MC has a whole darn savage garden, and he's more than eager to unleash it.

JAEHEE:

* She notices bits and pieces of MC that puzzle her; their hyper-alertness to the tiniest sound, their stance-tall, proud, always ready to pounce like an alpha predator, how they'll hide Jaehee behind them at the slightest sign of danger; Jaehee figured MC was just a very cautious person, but realises soon enough that there must be something more than that happening.

* She finds out when, one day, a group of raggedy looking men come into their cafe, the one leading the pack wearing sunglasses and a cap as if to remain anonymous, speaking loudly in a different language Jaehee couldn't quite pin-point, but figured it mist be Slavic.

* She didn't pay any mind-MC was up front as the cashier today, and Jaehee was in the back preparing drinks, so she wouldn't be the one dealing with them. She did however flash the group a smile as their attention shifted to her, swiftly going back to her work.

* She heard them mutter something amongst themselves with a sly laugh, but again, she couldn't know what they were saying, so she kept her attention still on the espresso machine, watching the beans slowly get grounded into fine dust.

* Well, MC apparently more than understood what the men said-with a thud they tugged the leader-dude's shirt by the collar, bringng him inches away from their face, their mouth forming a vicious snarl as they said something to him in a low growly voice, and surprisingly, in the same language as the men spoke.

* MC let the man go with a final push away from the counter, taking pride in the way he stumbled back, his mouth agape; he immediatly nodded to his lackies who all run right behind him and straight out the door, much to Jaehee's shock.

* "MC...what just-"

"They commented on your body. I said that you're under my protection, so they shouldn't even look your way like that again." MC supplied, and with a shrug went back to their usual customer service smile.

* Jaehee didn't ask what 'under my protection' meant for MC-she was just secretly happy for her brave, badass partner.

JUMIN:

* He's very observant-and he can see crystal clear that there’s more to MC than meets the eye.

* He loves them-of course he does, and their mystique aura makes them all the more alluring to him, from the thick accent that rolls of their tongue, to their confident strut as they walk down the street, to the knives strapped on their thighs....

* Wait. Wait wait, KNIVES?!

* He notices them the first time when they’re walking downtown with MC, their bodyguards merely a few feet behind, when some crazed fangirl ran up to the couple, screaming incoherencies at Jumin’s face.

* The bodyguards were quick to act, running straight ahead and taking the fangirl away from the pair, but Jumin’s eyes are razor sharp; he didn’t miss the way MC’s hand calmly went to the slit of their flowy summer dress, dragging the hem a little higher, the flash of metal peeking off of their thigh tight on a garter.

* He doesn’t mention it straight away, but later on, at dinner, he calmly asks if MC is currently armed, and MC nonchalantly answers ‘Yea, always’, while taking a sip of their wine.

* He hums in agreement, nodding slow as he processes their reply. “What are you armed with?”

* MC smirks, leaning closer across the table, a cat-like curiosity in their gaze. “Knives, sometimes a gun, my dashing good looks-you name it and I probably have it on my person.”

* Jumin smiles. “I’m glad you take your safety this seriously my love. It makes me feel safe to know you can protect yourself if the need arises.”

* The conversation ends at that, the pair going back to their casual conversation...but not before Jumin takes a sip of his wine, eyes fluttering shut before they open again, piercing and staring right to MC with pupils blown wide.

* “I suppose I’ll have to carefully examine just what weapons it is you have on you. For your own safety, of course.”

* And well, MC ain’t about to say no to that lmao

SEVEN/SAEYOUNG:

* Hoo boy

* He’s already curious when his background check on MC brings back pretty much nothing, except their upbringing in a foreign country, and an overall normal-seeming facebook account.

* But Seven’s not satisfied. Nobody’s background is that clean. Nobody’s. So he digs more, more, more, yet still there’s nothing, and his curiosity is peaqued, his eyes narrowed as he looks to the cameras in Rika’s apartment, seeing MC nonchalantly lounge on the couch, playing on their phone.

* “I’ll find out just what it is you’re hiding” he vows, ignoring the flush of his cheeks as MC looks up to the camera with a cheeky smile, knowing exactly what it is they’re doing.

* He finds out just what it is that interested him so in MC when he dashes to the apartment, seeing MC struggle with a man who could only be the hacker, broken glass pieces at their feet from the broken window.

* He’s about to step in, tackle the man to the ground and protect MC-only he doesn’t have to. MC takes the man down in a swift movement, using their smaller frame to the man to sneak behind him and kick his shins, tumbling him down and stradling his chest to keep him in place, despite the glass chunks that are probably digging into the hacker’s back.

* More so, they pull up their skirt, bringing a knife up from the hilt, bringing it to the man’s throat with a warning growl.

* Seven...has no idea what he’s doing there, other than just staring at the two people in front of him, not until the security system’s activated and targets the hacker, who flees without so much as a word to Seven.

* “I uh. I see you had it all under control” he says with a stutter, his eyes wide. MC stands up, wiping gunk and blood off of their cheek as they turn to Seven with a grin. “Sure did, but I could always use some extra help” they tell him and oh boy. Oh fuck his life, Seven’s hooked around this person’s sharp, bloody little finger.

* He doesn’t want to scout them into his agency, because he doesn’t want this sort of life for MC-but he will ask for their assistance with missions sometimes, konwing they can more than take care of themselves when the need arises.

* Just a badass but also memey couple really lol

V/JIHYUN:

* After his first unsuccesful attempt to save MC from Rika, he’s worried how MC will fare until he comes to their rescue, if they’ll be hurt in their attempt to escape.

* Well...whatever he was expecting, he certaintly did not expect this.

* He didn’t expect to come back to the cult, only to find MC already roundhouse kicking a vial of elixir from Ray’s hands, kicking it into the ground and pummeling straight into Ray to bring him down before he could attack her, then moving straight to the rest of the Believers, fighting 4-on-1 with so much ease it looked almost like a scene out of a video game.

* V’s lost for a moment before MC turns to him, wiping sweat off their brow as he looks on in confusion. “What the hell are you doing?” they ask, grabbing his hand as they tug him along, “we have to go! Come on!”

* Seven’s skills were pretty much unecessary in their escape lmao, but he’s still glad he tagged along to help the pair escape.

* When in the safety of the faraway cabin, and without anyone having to actually take the elixir this time, V sits dumbfounded, looking to MC like they’re some sort of vicious god.

* “How-how did you do all of that? You just-” he remembers the ease they fought men twice their size off, how they even pulled a knife on one to intimidate him before he could so much as raise a finger to hurt V. “You’re so...strong” he decides, lost for words.

* MC shrugs. “I just do a lot of upper body exercises at the gym. And TRX. It’s good strength training.”

* Honestly....V’s route flows so much easier with this badass MC by his side lol. Rika doesn’t stand a chance to hurt anyone with MC here.

RAY/SAERAN/UNKNOWN:

* Their skills were not, in fact, why he chose MC as his tester. He didn’t even really know about any of their badassery, only that they grew up in a foreign country, and could speak multiple languages, which he found interesting, sure, but unecessary.

* He was thrilled at their kind nature, but also a little aprehensive. He knows no usual person would just up and walk into a van with a driver that blindfolded them to take them to an unkown location. What secrets could MC be hiding? He wanted nothing more than to find out.

* Well, he finds out soon enough. Or rather, Saeran does-when his agressiveness kicks in, when he tries to tackle MC to the ground and hold them in place, show them he’s superior...well, he doesn’t get the chance to.

* MC frowns at him as he tries to push them to the wall, taking his hand and holding it in a bruising-tight hold, swiftly moving behind him and bringing his hand to his back, the cracking sound of his shoulder alerting him he’s most certaintly going to feel that for the next few days.

* “You don’t get to touch me as you please” MC whispers in his ear before letting him go, seeing the way he stumbles a few steps ahead before regaining his balance.

* MC is still kind and tries to help him become the kind person they met in the begining of their arrival here, but won’t take Saeran’s shit under any circumstances. Instead they fight back tooth and nail, showing him all they got when he tries to push them around.

* This also makes escaping the cult with Saeran that much easier-they fight through hoards of Believers like they were paper-light, MC even grabbing a pistol off of one of them and firing scarily precise warning shots at just the right places to scare them all off.

* Welp, mark down Saeran as scared *and* horny lmao

VANDERWOOD:

* He met MC through their escape attempt with V and Seven, and hoo boy-HOO BOY.

* He sees their agility, their swift movements and the way they handle a knife like it was but an extension of their hand, and he’s head over heels in an instant.

* He keeps trying to scout them into the agency, promising them riches, but MC laughs at his offer with a roll of their eyes, refusing every time.

* Once, when he asks MC to join, they lean close to him, bringing a finger under his chin as they tilt his face to meet theirs. “Why don’t you join me instead?” they purr, and at that moment, Vanderwood is putty under their hands.

* He’d follow this badass person to the ends of the world, agency be damned.

* He does ask them to team up with him for some missions, secretly from the agency, and is pleased with the results, noting how quickly and efficiently the two work as a team.

* They’re literally the most badass couple in existence hoooly shit lol

Yuuki: i think its safe to say the many assortments of flowers she wears in her hair. while she isnt a gardener or anything, one of her siblings is, and they often send flowers to her. yuuki, in turn, usually mends them all into a flower crown, or even plain just puts a single flower into her hair.

Emica: when it comes to it, i suppose her traditional japanese arm band, symbolising her stance on the student council. her many different necklaces is a close competitor.

Arata: he dresses like he just walked out of a time loop from england 1930s. i think thats pretty noticeable-

Mitsuo: the unhealthily dark bags under his eyes, and the very pale skin which does not go well with his very bright, red hair.

Asuka: her very rich, haughty aura. and even though anyone would hate to admit it, shes borderline very attractive.

Manabu: he looks like he came from a very formal ball, not to mention it would be hard to miss the variety of shiny crystals he wears as bracelets.

Seiichi: at first glance, people might say he looks like he just had a ruffle with someone- but if you pay attention, he actually really is neat and tidy- aside from his tie.

Tamotsu: at first glance, people would probably compare him to indiana jones when it comes to his outfit choice. he doesnt deny these comparsions.

Kamiko: her sunhat, for sure. theyre usually wide brimmed, though fashionable. the second thing is probably the many ‘luck charms’ she wears as accesories.

Kenta: how he looks much stronger than he actually is. also his sneakers. everyone notices the sneakers. even if you arent a fan of footwear, you WILL notice his sneakers.

Chieko: chieko is very… ordinary looking. in fact, her normalness compared to any other ultimate is probably the first thing youll ever notice. it actually makes her stand out.

Masa: the first youll notice about masa is her sheer size of accesories. bracelets, rings, hair pins, and necklaces galore. if you pay enough attention, youll actually notice she and tamotsu have matching necklaces.

Fumiko: a notable thing about fumikos appearance is how… scandalous her outfit is. fumiko isnt shameful at all about how much skin shes exposing; though it never gets too crazy. usually. hopefully.

Kohaku: there is nothing really abnormal about kohaku, other then their very bright mint color scheme. the reading glasses hanging from a small chain on the front of their suit is also something noteworthy.

Aika: the first thing youll notice about aika is the fact that her coat is almost completely made out of buttons- each one she sewed onto it herself. for someone who youd expect look to have come out of the 1990s, she has a reasonable modern feel to her clothes.

Satoru: at first glance, you could see satoru as, to be frank, a vsco boy. his casual outfit, sunglasses, and jacket with many pins relating to saving the ocean can give off that feel. however, he resents the stereotypes of ‘vsco’. also, its hard to tell if his murky hair is either white or grey.

Usagi: the first thing youll notice about usagi is the fact she always looks like shes prepared for a hike. her backpack, casual but warm outfit wear, and always pulled up hair can give that impression.

Yuuki: yuuki has a soft spot for her talent, considering how it dates back to her grandmother, and its always been something shes been experienced with. its fair to say yuuki likes her talent.

Emica: emica really doesnt consider herself worthy of her talent. the only reason she got it, afterall, is because of her dad, not to mention this fact has caused her a fair amount of nasty envy with her fellow classmates. still, she tries to honor her responsibility of being student council president. emica doesnt particularly like her talent.

Arata: if theres one thing arata is proud of, its his talent. hes been into history since he was a small child- and to have his research celebrated is his dream come true. he can, however, be a little cocky about it. he really does consider himself the best historian in history. arata likes, and is very proud of, his talent.

Mitsuo: he wont even tell anyone what his talent is. i wonder why…

Asuka: whether or not asuka enjoys her talent is left to debate. it is, however, for sure something she uses to her advantage. shes part of the main student council! of course everyone has to respect her, right? she also considers being the treasurer ‘finally’ a way to use her social skills and knowledge with mathematics to use. asuka likes her talent.

Manabu: manabu was always expected to be helpful in the study of outer space. his whole family line consisted of astronomers, astronauts, astrophysicists, and more. manabu had to choose his career at a young age, and he decided on astrogeology. this didnt mean manabu was stuck in the career. or, at least, he was, until an opportunity arrived. yet even when he got it, he decided not to take it. manabu always had a soft spot for astrogeology, though perhaps if he didnt have his current family line, he would have become the ultimate of a different talent. manabu likes his talent, though that may only be because of his history.

Seiichi: seiichis history of slam poetry goes all the way back to elementary. its his form of venting, if you will, as even though he comes across as nervous, his head is filled with anger at the world. but also hope, of making a new one. a better one. he considers being invited to attend sailing integrity was just a plus to his journey. seiichi likes his talent.

Tamotsu: tamotsu has been interested in tombs and the history of egypt for a long time. the closest thing he could find to fulfilling his interests was becoming a tour guide to show people around said tombs, and he found himself having fun, rehearsing facts and making the otherwise gloomy places bright. making tourists days a little more fun was good enough for him. tamotsu quite likes his talent.

Kamiko: kamikos talent was always something that she did as a fun hobby. sewing tapestries that told fascinating tales was always something she was invested in. and the many tales she sewed was really the only things that kept her company while she kept herself locked in her room. however, even if she likes her talent, she was not a fan of being recognized for it, and being coaxed by her parents to attend the academy. kamiko likes her talent, but isnt a fan of being the ‘ultimate’ of it.

Kenta: if we were being real here, kenta is very… neutral on his talent, which is weird for him. the way he learnt it is connected with bad memories, but doing it has always been refreshing to him. a way to run around, blow off steam. he supposes being called deemed the ‘ultimate’ of it isnt that bad. kenta likes his talent, for the majority.

Chieko: being the ultimate chemist wasnt chiekos first choice, but she takes it with dignity. chieko is neutral on her talent.

Masa: masas talent was born out of curiosity, and it grew from it. masas history of interpreting dreams is affiliated with many different emotions and memories. but for the most part, its been positive. she is very into the persona of it, and considers it a chance for her to act all mythical and wise. but, shes just really happy that she got to be a ultimate along with tamotsu. masa likes her talent, especially the attention she gets from it.

Fumiko: fumiko, probably, resents her talent the most out of the cast. its a very constant, confusing, love-hate relationship. she dislikes the title of ultimate lucky student, as she finds it cheesy, which is the whole reason why she calls herself a blackjack player. after talking to her for a bit, it becomes clear she doesnt want her talent to define her, and that she honestly couldnt care less about ultimates and the academies. her whole reason for applying to the lottery seems to stem from family reasons. while she dislikes the academy, she also takes any chance she can to pump her ego around her talent. its confusing, honestly. fumiko is not a fan of her talent.

Kohaku: kohakus murder mystery career started out as a coping method. however, they get very attached to every story and characters they make, putting love into every book, which is the whole reason they got recognized as the ultimate murder mystery novelist. kohaku has pride in becoming the ultimate murder mystery novelist, though they dont consider it a big deal. whether or not they became an ultimate wouldnt have any effect on the future of their career. theyll always write murder mysteries. kohaku likes their talent.

Aika: aika considers her becoming an ultimate a complete ‘accident’. aika isnt especially invested in vintage collecting- she just had a lot of old stuff she posted online, not even realising how old and valuable they really were, and the next thing she knew, the email and letter came. actually, the invitation to sailing integrity is what really made her consider making collecting old items a hobby. secretly, aika is a little insecure of her talent, finding it boring compared to others talents. aika likes her talent, but only to a certain point.

Satoru: satorus want to study the oceans animals has been active for a long time, especially since he was always close to water, considering his parents were fishermen. he finds the thought of the ocean being 95% explored to be highly interesting, and his goal is to crack down another 5% before he dies. becoming the ultimate of what he loved to do was very much a welcomed moment, especially with the promise that the academy would supply him with items that would help reinforce his talent. satoru has always been especially passionate about marine biology. satoru likes his talent.

Usagi: usagi is also very neutral when considering her talent. in fact, her talent is always at the back of her mind when introducing herself. usagi, truthfully, isnt a fan of most of the school referring to her as the ‘ultimate runaway’, considering how many of them paint it as a form of rebelling and thus delinquency. shes just a girl who likes taking sharing nature with the world whilst traveling, and wants others to see that as well. usagi is iffy on her talent.

Satoru: rarely uses h’s if they are at the front of the word.

Season after season, the Hermits had been tormented relentlessly by hollows, or horrible, invisible monsters created by Evil X. They were a result of an experiment of unknown intent, and now they steal peculiar Hermit’s souls, and somehow manage to creep their way into every new season.

Once they acquire enough of these souls, they can ascend into wights. These wights take the form of beloved Hermits, making them far more dangerous. The only physical difference is that wights bear entirely white eyes that seem to glow in the dark.

Now, Season 6. It’d been relatively peaceful. It was the longest time the Hermits had been hollow-free, and newer technology that came with every Update had made the future seem much brighter. The possibility of never having to leave their homes behind again is closer to becoming a reality than ever. Maybe Evil X has finally given up. Old Hermits have even joined along the way! However, what the others don’t know is that the return of these presumed-dead Hermits opens a whole new realm of disaster beyond either of them’s control, and perhaps a tear into the fine fabric that keeps Season 6 safe.

hey hi howdy so i made a blog for anyone whos interested in this au lol this is basically where i just drop anything i write about or draw w this au haha. please note that this au has semi-permadeath (nobody will die forever or anythin but sometimes people just don’t respawn if that makes any sense??) and not a whole lot of angst but its there. i’ll try and have this deviate a bit from the og books bc some of its either problematic, confusing, or doesnt fit with what i have planned.  in fact, heres a small list of things ive changed for reference (and in case u get the books and go “wtf quee this isnt canon”): ymbrynes can be men bc admins if a hermit spends a lot of time around another hermit, they’ll pick up a bit of one anothers abilities. not enough to be useful for anything but hey its there ymbrynes are leaders not caretakers wights and hollows travel though underground nether portals and tfc usually has to break any unfinished ones he finds while caving rip seasons in hc = loops in mphfpc

anyways as a refresher heres a list of peculiarities the hermits have, alphabetically (tumblr’s a bitch and wont let me put this under a cut for whatever reason so i’ll just tag as long post):

Bdubs: it is a mystery Biffa: He’s an admin so he’s an ymbryne! Basically hes a bird guy (he can become a crowned eagle) who’s sorta the decision maker of the server with x and joe. in this au ymbrynes aren’t caretakers (bc thats problematic, in my humble opinion) and are leaders sorta? anyways moving on oh yeah he kinda went poof one day n nobody knows where he is Cleo: Zombie, but powered by redstone. Cub: Vex magic Doc: He can reanimate the dead. It’s incredibly draining, but hey its there Evil X: An ex-ymbryne. He created the hollows, but not for the reason you, or the other hermits, think. He retains the ymbryne power of becoming a bird, in this case, a crow. another thing he is, is redeemable. False: basically she’s almost impossible to beat in battle its kinda scary but its also really cool. Grian: hes got birdie wings also hes very light which allows him to fly without using rockets and its kinda like a perpetual slow falling potion. somehow he still manages to splat on the ground lol Impulse: manipulates shadows n darkness. he makes lil shadow puppets for tango n zed bc team zit’s friendship is so fucking cute Iskall: Manipulates slime iskallium. he and jevin claim their abilities are different. He’s also noticed that the area around him gets just a little chillier. Jevin: is being literally made out of slime not peculiar enough for you (he can manipulate slimes) Joe: Ymbryne, again! He’s a bluebird. Also he’s got enhanced synesthesia and it’s pretty rad. Keralis: it is a mystery Mumbo: Living lever. He can activate redstone simply by touching it. He has to think for it to work though.  Python: flowers kinda grow at his feet. because of this hes the master of poison. he uses lilies of the valley in tea to poison enemies. he was once accused of making biffa disappear because of this. Ren: he speaks fluently to animals. haha furry ily Scar: Vex magic... 2! After all the time spent at Area 77 with Doc, he’s also gotten a bit popular with the undead. Stress: Ice magic for the ice queen! Tango: Fire manipulation. He’s always very warm. TFC: He doesn’t seem too special until you look closely at his eyes. One of them is completely white. When X first met him, he just thought he was blind in that eye, until the man saved X’s butt from a wight in Season 5. That is how the server found out their “normal” is part wight. Wels: Metallokinesis! Don’t make him angry. He’ll drop an anvil on you. Xisuma: Yet another ymbryne, and the last one I have to talk about. He’s a snowy owl. Zedaph: He’s kinda what happens if you stay in the End for too long. He’s got a very potent dragon’s breath attack at his fingertips and he has natural dragon wings/horns. also pointy teef and end crystals give him regen. Admittedly this is my headcanon for him already (except the end crystal part), but shhh..

Kekkei Genkai Data Sheet

Name: 血遁 Chiton Blood Release Associated clan: Chino Associated inviduals: Only the members of the Chino clan. Classification: Kekkei genkai, ninjutsu Basic natures: It doesn’t have a basic nature. It is compatible with all of the 5 basic chackra nature, more or less. Some are rarer, some is very common. Here they are inorderof commonity: Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, Lighting. But the user has only one nature affinity. But they can collaborate their chackra nature with each other, making special collaboration jutsus.

Range: Short-mid-range. Description: The user is able to have controll over bloodcells, and their blood producing cells inside their bones. With this they can upgrade their blood producing rate allowing them to use more blood. Also instead of the usual 4 liters per a normal adult, their bodies are able to store 1 more liter of blood to use in instant combat without activating their increased blood production. It cames in handy when ambushed. But to usage, a connection to the body is needed in most time, altought they have limited abilities too when their blood isn’t connected to the body, but these abilities are very hard to achieve and requires great chackra controll, concentration and willpower. They mostly use their blood as weapons like kunais, axes, swords, wips, etc, by crystalising it. Each weapon requires a different level of crystalization. For an example a warhammer needs to be hard and massive and easy to crystalize, but a whip needs to be less hardened, flexible, and harder to maintain, because it needs greet concentration to harden, yet soften at the same time. The weapons can channel the user’s chackra, for example, making an ecnhanted edged weapon with wind chackra, or a sword that can burn oponents with fire chackra. First is usufull when the user wishes to kill its target, the second is usefull, when he wants to keep the enemy alive, when causing damage immediately burning outthe wound, to cause less bloodloss. The only thing what limits this bloodline ability is the potential of the user and his fantasy. It’s strong point is that their cells are much more improved, their healing is enchanted, and even if suffering a damage which comes with mortal bloodloss, they can reduce the loss of blood, surviving the affair. Also because their improved cells, they have great stamina and constitution, they can take a hit better than ordinary ninja. Still, their strongest aspect is ther hidden and special clan ability, which gaves them an almost-immortal state for a limited period of time. Also, because they can manipulate their blood circle, they achieved an almost 100% immunity against poisons and venoms. There is only one known poison that affects them, and it was made by Soyokaze Shizuka, a poison master, and she used a clan members blood to make it, and it took her years to complete it. And it is only used once, against two edo tensei’s of the clan in thegreat ninja war, never again. The abilities weakness it’s it will olden the body little by little when use, so its possible for the user to use up his future lifespan in continueed pushed uses over the years. Not just that, but it causes great, slowly healing damage to the internal organs, which caused a rapid birth decrease in the clan, because often female users decrease their birth giving ability by damaging their reproducting organs like the uterus. It is usually a miracle if a female user has more then one offspring. But if she rarely uses the bloodline, of course she is able to give birth to more children, but since they are pushed to use their ability in the name of theclan it is rare. Also if this ability is overused in a fierce battle, the body not neccessary able to keep up with the damage caused by theopponent or by to jutsu instead, so simply breaks the user’s body or criples them. Maybe on good point is that they dont need to carry too much ninja equipment bythemselves. Also every member has a unique blood type what cant be cathegorized by A, B, AB, or 0. Also, they often give blood at the clan clinic, because of their unique blood type they can recieve blood only for themselves. They often use this given blood in battle too, sealed in scrolls, to lower the side effects. Also because of their poison resistance, they can poison themleves, without worry to hurt themselves, but because they still carry the poisons in their blood, even a scratch can be fatal against an opponent with their blood made weapons, if their timing is correct, and they are able to to realese the hardened effect of the weapon’s part which cuts the opponent’s body. Jutsus of the kekkei genkai: - Blood bird: It’s a special technique that doen’t need connection to the body. It can be used to deliver messages. The user uses the blood as a medium to make a small bird. Then the user determines its destination of the bird and sends it there. When it reaches the given direction, it will form the message in a scroll. - Blood shuriken/kunai: Shurikens or kunais made of blood. Very dangerous since Chino members carry different poisons in their blood. - Inugami no Jutsu: These is the biggest secret technique of the clan. They can summon huge guardian dogs using their blood as a medium. They usually carry scrolls with themselves containing their blood, so they won’t need to use it from their body. A members strenght always determines the strenght of their Inugami too. A clan member who still isnt fully learned this kind of technique can summon a small one, but members with talent and experience can summon one as tall as themselves. Once an Inugami is summoned it protects it’s master, and Inugamis have their own huge chakra reserves. They can lend it to their owner and tey use this stocked up chakra to heal their masters. Also, while an Inugami is summoned it’s really hard to kill it’s owner since the Inugami is continously heals him/her. The easiest way to kill them while their Inugami is besides them, is to behead them, burn alive, or destroying the main blood circulation points like the heart, the chest and abdominal aorta. Until these points aren’t injured or damaged, their scars heals automatically thanks to their dog guardian. Of course cut-off limbs won’t grow back, but until they are connected to the body, by some bone, mucle or skin, it will heal. Side effects: This techniqe doesn’t make them immortal only will give a gifted state of constitution. But it shortens the lifespan of the user, cause similar to Tsunades jutsu, it doesn’t heals damaged cells, it recreates them. Also this technique can break down the users body after suffering too much damage continously. For example Chino Ryuuji overuses this technique in the fourth shinobi war when he rescuesa fellow clan member from a summoned beats of an edo tensei. It almost bites of his right hand and damages his spine with his abdominal aorta. To save his master, his Inugami sacrifices all of it’s chackra reserves to heal his damaged aorta, to ensure he will stay alive, but because of it, the Inugami won’t be able to heal his arm, which makes him losing it. Also he’s body will be under such a psyhical pressure and stress, parts of his black hair will go white. Due to his Inugami’s sacrifice he will stay alive, but won’t ever be able to summon it, and his overall blood controlling ability worsens, cause the damage he suffered. Also, this overally damages their internal organs if overused, it can lead to infertility in the chase of female members. "Body connected” techniques: - Blood edge: This special technique allows them to harden or crystalize their blood, so they can make any kind of weapon out of their blood with adges. If the member has a great controll of their blood these edges can be really flexible too, so its hard to shatter them. If hardened enough it can cut armors, but it needs great knoweldge and needs years of training to master this hardened strenght. But if the user has a wind affinity he can use that to make it sharper that way too, by flowing wind natured chackra into it. - Blood smasher: Similar to the blood edge technique, but in this case they can form maces or hammers out of blood, with a great need to harden their blood. But because its not that flexible, its easier to shatter it. - Blood thread: It’s really flexible, and has several usefulness. They can make whips or ninja wires out of it. Already died out ancinent techniques: - Blood wings: The first ancestors were able to form light wings by their blood to cover smaller distances by using them, or ambush enemy right from the skies. Altought they know the process of makeing them, none of the current members are able to master it, tought to its complexity. - Blood armour: The first ancestors were able to cover their whole body or parts of their body in their hardened and crystalized blood. This too, is an already died out technique, none of the current member are capable of using it anymore. -will add more later- Abilities: -Enchaned constitution and health: Because they can manage their cells to a certain level, they have greater constitution than ordinary ninja, and an overall healthy body and strong immune system. Its rare to see a clan member with the flu. -Poison/venom resistance: They are resistance to allkind of poisons, venoms and toxins. Only one expection is a special poison made by Soyokaze Shizuka, who made a special poison directly agaisnt this bloodline ability. It doesnt kills them, but paralizies the body and make their minds less focused, making them more vulnarable to genjutsu, and she used a blood sample of a clan member to make it. Funny fact, that because of their resistance of poisons they usually never get drunk and have a legendary alcohol resistance. If they want to get drunk, first they need to surpress their own resistance ability. -Good chackra controll: They have an overall good chackra controll, so they have an affinity to became medical nin. Also they have a great affinity to became genjutsu users, but since its frowned upon by the clan, there are no genjutsu users in the clan. They are more of the ninjutsu and taijutsu type of warriors. They find no honor in genjutsu, because it can be used without their dear bloodline ability what they are so proud of. Limitations: Their healing abilities have their own limitations, and the ability usage in long term is harmful for their bodies. So they are not immortal, and their ability cant slow their aging, in fact it fastens it. Because of this they have a shorter lifespan and usually die sooner than ordinary ninja. Tolerance/Intolerance: They don’t have tolerance towards any other existing bloodline limit. The cause of it, that it was developed in secret, not associated with any other talents or abilities and were kept inside the clan. This inbreed a huge genetical issue inside the clan, and without the fresh genes it limited their own kekkei genkai uses more. That’s why they have many fearsome but already died out techniques. The only tolerance they have toward outsiders isn’t associated with their bloodline, but only with their chackra nature, which they can collaborate with eachother andwith ordinary ninja too, to give birth to collaborated tecniques. Evolution: The kekkei genkai is originated from only one invidual, called Rakasha. He, with her twin sister, were otgans of the Land of Sky. Rakasha achieved this ability by his studies on medicine and with his own willpower. First he only tried to control only the blood inside his body, but it wasn’t effective, so he started to use his chackra on his other cells too, like the blood prodicing cells in his bones. It became a succes, and he trained in secret but later told her sister. His motive was to protect her weaker sister from bullies. He is the only clan member in the history, who was able to controll not only his blood but other’s too, if he could inject a little from his blood inside others. The final boost what gave birth to the bloodline was a massacre when nukenin attacked the orphanage they stayed, slaing the nuns, and the kids who went against them. Her sister lost her right eye, and was stabbed in the chest and Rakasha got his throat cut. He played dead, but carefully controlled his and his sister’s blood to lessen their bloodloss and they managed to survive. But since Akasha her sister didnt had the ability this time, she could never recover her lost eye, and Rakasha could never recover his damaged throat fully, which caused him to go mute. After this, they disappear for years and secretly upgrade their abilities. Akasha becames able to unlock her abilties after having their blood mixed, and she made hers his brother’s cells. Akasha had a latent talent for ninjutsu and quickly excelled in the ability, and slowly became corrupted by the power she gained. Rakasha losthis confiedence because of his unabilty to speak and slowly her sister’s more confident and agressive personality ruled over him, even tought he was far stronger then her. Meanwhile they made contact with some wolf summons, and came out to see the world what they once left. Their abilities were kept secret, and they usually disposed of the witnesses, to keep their secrets. Later they found comarades throught their travels, and they settled down in Amegakure. They were in their early twenties this time, and founded the Chino clan. Rakasha made their comarades have mixed their blood with his, to gift them his abilty too, and they all made contracts with the remaining members of the wolf pack. Originally they wanted to make a sanctuary to the orphans of the war, so they took children in, and gifted them their abilities too. Akasha became the first head of their newly founded clan, and Rakasha became the first hunter, who disposed of the runaways of the clan, stopping them in revealing their secrets. As Akasha became mad with power, the clan became more like a military based alliance with strict rules and srtict punishments. In their late twenties, the old summon wolfes made a very special pact with them, in fear of not being able to protect their loved ones anymore. They took in their summoners’ blood, and after that they asked themselves to be beheaded by their owners and then buried by them, so they can protect the clan forever, by becaming Inugami’s, guardan spirit dogs of the clan for eternity. Rakasha was the only one who opposed the bloody ritual, and wasn’t able to execute his old friend. Seeing this, Akasha murdered the the wolf, and forced his brother to bury him. This makes Rakasha truly realize the power hunger of her sister, and it lies down the base of his later betrayal, when he hires assasins from the clan, to dispose of himself and his sister in secret and to bury them in a secret tomb. With this action of his, he passes the clan to the next generation, what lives with their strict rules and traditions for centuries. Trivia: -i was surprised there weren’t any blood manipulating clans in the narutoverse because its the very basics of life -The Inugami jutsu and it’s ritual is based on a very brutal ancient japanese ritual. They behead the familiy dog and bury its head either below the hous or somewhere in the compund to bind its soul to the place and make it a slave sirit of the family forcing its soul to protect the family and bring them good fortune.

The clan head is a retired kunoichi who took leadership after her husband who died in the 3rd shinobi war. The clan is small but takes reputation before almost everything, and they want to bring back it’s old glory. Over the centuries sadly, more member were killed than how many were born, and overusage of the kekkei genkai decreased the woman’s chances in giving birth. It’s extremely rare to have two children in a family. The most decision is made by the head, but in important matters they held meetings as well. Hitomi, the head has great political skills, which benefits the clan greatly. Also, those members who disrespects the clan, or became missing nins are banished from the clan, and missing nins usually are hunted down by the other members, so they can’t give out any information regarding the hidden jutsus of the clan. If there is a chance of a member who got banished out to leek clan informations are executed too. Clan alliance: Amegakure no Sato/Hidden Rain Village Traits: - usually black, brown or red hair colors - brown or green eyes - well built, very healthy bodies - there isn’t a specified chackra nature in their clan, but the water relase is the most common among them. They spent their early childhood in an orphanage. They were bullied a lot because they both was fragile. Rakasha devoted himself of protecting her sister, and secretely studied anatomy and ninja arts. By the age of seven he managed to develop an original ability by controlling his blood. Back then it wasnt advanced at all, he only could manage to do small tricks with his blood and to manipulate his blood and considerably decrease bloodloss. He wanted to use this ability in the future, to scare off the kids whom bullied her sister and himself. He gained great self confiedence this time. Under unfortunate circumstances robbers attacked the orphanage in search of food supplies and other goods. Their plan didnt go as they planned because the resistance of the terrified children living there and it turned out to be a massacre. Akasha lost her right eye and suffered a mortal wound on her chest what would caused her to suffer a long and painful death. Rakasha got his throut cut wide open, not only his blood vessels but other organs damaged as well, like his vocal cords. Thanks to his newfound ability he managed to survive by controlling the flow of his blood and minimalizing his bloodloss. He even managed to save his sister too, by mixing his blood with hers, and being able to controll Akasha’s blood too. They managed to survive, because they both recieved offically fatal wounds and was ignored by the robbers. A few weeks later Akasha noticed she is able to controll her blood too and they reached the conclusion that when Rakasha secretely mixed his blood with hers, it changed her system too. They spent the upcoming years alone traveling and devoting their time to training. This is the time when Rakasha becames very depressed by his inabality to speak caused by his wound on his throat, and Akasha on the other hand gains confiedence she never had because her new powers. They spent their time by searching for masters in ninjutsu and taijutsu and learning from different masters for years. After years of training and sage lifestyle they decide they would join society once more. By this time, they made a pact with their summonings namely Michi(道) and Naomi(直己), two wise male wolf. They are both aged sixteen by this time and developed most of their techniques, including the A rank technique blood wing and the S rank blood armor. Thanks to their earlier life experiences and the tutoring of their wise wolf companions, they both posess unusually high wisdom for their young age. By this time Akasha becames the dominant person in their relationship, but she still often considers Rakasha’s opinions, since the boy not only studied the ninja arts like her, but war tactics and arts too. The twins decide to find a new land, a home, where they can make a clan for themselves and a strong military force to protect their kind. They seek power not only to protect themselves but the orphans of war too. They settle down near Amegakure, purchase a land where they start to build their own compound. They are joined by kids at their own age, and kids from the land from whom seek protection. With the help of Naomi Akasha learns basic diplomacy and trains herself in politics and interaction. She gains connection with the village and agrees to lend their powers to the village in exchange for their independence. Two years later, when they have their names known, Rakasha and Akasha decides to grant their powers to the kids whom joined them. In a ritual Rakasha cuts the new members and himself too, and he mixes his blood with theirs, and forcefully causing changes in the bodies of the new members. Later they are trained as shinobi too. Their powers arent that strong as the twins’ but under strict training they became excellent shinobies too. In the next two years their military force increases rapidly because of the mix of their abilities and the other techniques known by the newcomers. Together they maximalizie the capacities granted by the blood control and obtain various new techniques. They are still independent, but have a great urge to serve their village out of gratitude for granting them a new sanctuary. Thanks to the smooth diplomacy between the village and the clan they gain influence in the village, altought its not neccessary welcomed by the elders of the village. To show their devotion they complete all missions they are able to and donate a notable part of their income to the village. At the same time, they gain more and more lands, where they build their own district. The population of the clan reaches 100 members this time. By the time the twins reach the age of twenty-five the clan no more accepts outsiders. They still support the cause of the orphans and donate lots of their income to orphanages and help poor kids. But Akasha’s power hunger starts to make things harder. Some members who dont accpet her way of leading the clan are assasinated secretly by Rakasha, who grew accustomed to obeying her sister’s orders. Akasha is a very strict leader but she is capable of showing mercy and her judgment is reasoned, but she doesnt allows anyone to question her actions or to go against her. This is the time, when the clan is more and more starts to act as a military section and less than a family. They make top priotity of keeping their abilities hidden. Akasha is aware of the fact that their abilities make them an outstanding and unique force, thus she grows more and more suspicious toward outsiders. She knows that they can be defeated if the data of their abilities reaches the wrong hands, so she is very strict on the matter. When they reach the age of 26 a tragedy draws near. All of the members now has contracts with various wolf summons and Naomi and Michi informs theircompanions that their lifespan is slowly reaching their end. They already wasnt young when they made a contract so they soon will die. Michi and Naomi are afraid that their death will cause great sorrow for their companions so they discuss the matter with the rest of their pack. The wolfs reach the conclusion that they all want to serve their respected companions and friends what is limited by their shorter lifespan. They come up with a solution in an ancient ritual they knew. The pack approach the the two founders with their plan on serving them forever and tells them about the ritual. Rakasha immediately opposes the idea, but Akasha agrees with Naomi and decides on helding the ritual. All of the members are needed to attend it. The members all share their blood with their companions, and the wolfs are beheaded, their body burnt, but their heads are buried under the main compound. Rakasha was the only one, who couldnt kill his old friend, Michi, so the one who killed was Akasha. After the succesfull ritual the spirits of the wolves became one with their owners and can be summoned as an immortal entity using their blood as a medium. Thus the clan’s most powerful technique the Inugami was born. Clan members who achieved this technique shortly discovered that after they first summon their companion, their wounds heal considerably faster and without a scar. Scars what were recieved before the first summon remain tought, so neither Rakasha’s throat, neither Akasha’s eye never heal. In the next year both of the twins marries respective clan members. In the same years Akasha gives birth to her only son, who she names Daichi( 大智). She retires from active duty, and devotes herself to her son and the management of the clan. She further studies diplomacy and manages a benefitical contact with the village for both sides. She becomes more and more addicted to political power and influence. She fears the future and estabilizies the clan laws. No outside marriage. No information leaking. Everyone who gives out information is banished and executed. She buildes a strict order of tradition and loyality. When twenty-eight years old, Rakasha is gifted by a boy from her wife, Chouko(蝶子) too. Unlike her sister, who married by political calculation, Rakasha truly loved the woman he married. He names his son Kouki(幸輝) by hoping that his name will bring him hapiness and good fortune. Unfortunately, by Akasha’s later orders and his own conclusions a hard and twisted fate is forced upon his son. When reaching their early thirties the clan has a well established standing in the village. Akasha’s often strict judgment was colored by mercy and justice, but by this time it became only harsh and cold. This the time when her paranoia of an outside force what crushes her precious clan and sanctuary becames clear to Rakasha. He tries his best to comfort his sister but with no luck. Thisis the time when Akasha givesout orders for the training of a special assasin who will deal with traitors, runaways or outsiders who try to discover their secrets. This task is given to Rakasha who already dirtied his hands in their earlier years. Fortunately, he needs to tend to this task very rarely. This is the time when the main branches of the clan are divided. The descendants of Akasha will lead the clan, the descendants of Rakasha will handle the dirty tasks, and the remaining members will be the 'citizens’. While not totally mad for the power, Akasha is still clever enough to estabilish a system, of meetings what are called together when something important needs to be decided. When the head calls for a meeting anyone who works as an active ninja can voice his opinion on the matter. Altought, the real decision is still in the hand of the head it helps to widen his/her opinion on the matter and keeps up the facade that everyone has a saying in the matter. Also Akasha founds a new institute close to her compund where the kids of the clan can train freely after the academy. In this training facility they try to always have the best training tools, and the kids recieve supplementary classes to raise their knoweldge not only in the ninja arts but everything they are insterested in. This new institute has a huge library too, so they can widen the intelect of the students as well. This facility will have a leading role later too, and it is the main cause why are Chino kids unusually well-trained for their age. Here they can seek scrolls, jutsus, literature and tools to support their studies in the academy. Also, this idea is welcomed by the other members of the clan too, especially those support it, who often go to long missions and dont have the time to lookout for their kids or train with them. Akasha spends lot of her time here too, with his son and with the kids of the clan. This time, she spends with the youngsters of the clan keeps her in check under the pressure from managing the clan and various diplomatic tasks. Also thanks to her iron fist in leading the clan, they have a very high succes rate in completing the mission and they lead a strict lifestyle. Criminalistic tendencies drop almost to zero thanks to the harsh punisments. Most of the members lead a model life according to the clan’s ethic codex. In their forties the first sign’s of Akasha’s mental downfalls are starting to be disturbing. Earlier she enjoyed her time with the kids, but she became very strict with them, usually expecting even the youngest ones to excell in anything, and if they fail they recieve punisment. She becames paranoic of anunknown outside force, what she believes will come for them and crush their existence. Rakasha often recieves unreasonably strict orders. He tries to reason with her, but Akasha thinks he is too soft and fears that he will actually betray her. Chouko often speaks with the clan members and listen to their complaints, as it becomes clearer that Akasha has serious problems. Rakasha listens to her wife carefully and again, tries to reason with his sister. Also he doesnt likes the fact, that his son needs to undergo especially hard training in order to be his father’s successor. Akasha doesnt go easy on her own son too, but she is never unreasonably strict with him unlike with other kids. This makes Daichi hungry for her mother’s praises and makes him arrogant toward others. As soon as the clan head learns from his brother that Chouko keeps comforting the members regarding her, her parania kicks in. She stubbornly states that Chouko wants to overthrown her, and much to Rakasha’s grief he cant convience her sister on the matter. He feels guilty for letting Akasha rush down in madness. He finally realizes that his sister is beyond saving when she orders him to assasinate his own wife, and if he wont, she will order Kouki, his son to kill his own mother as a sign of absolute loyalty to the clan. On the surface Rakasha accepts the order from his sister. Once home, he tells everything to her wife and son and three other members of the clan he has absolute trust in. He decides that things cant go on like this. He makes up a plan to solve the matter and as his first duty, he entrusts it to his son as his first offical clan mission. Later Rakasha conviences her sister to accompany him in one of his minor missions. To have a change Akasha agrees happily, and is overjoyed by the fact that she is able to travel a little with her beloved brother as they used to be. Until she is away, she entrusts her husband with the matters of the clan. After two days of traveling they are ambushed by unknown shinobi. They fight them back easily, but Akasha is shaken to the core when one of their attackers unleashes Inugami no Jutsu, making it clear for her that members she once lead now try to assasinate her. In this moment of her hesitance Rakasha embraces his sister tight catching her off-guard and unable to move. He tells her sister that he loves her more than anything and in that moment two attackers stab them from behind, each of them hitting their hearts. Akasha curses the traitors with her last breath but dies in the embrace of her brother. They are buried far away from their home in a secret tomb, which is unknown to the clan. Akasha’s husband waits for his wife faithfully until his last days. After that Daichi takes the leading of the clan. After talking with his father a lot, and listening to the opinions of the other members, he lowers the punishments’ harsness. Still, he becames a strict leader with an iron fist like his mother’s but much more reasonable and with a strong sense for justice. Kouki too, inherint’s his father’s role. He stays in the shadows, only loyal to the head, but he takes the secret of the twins disappearance with him to the grave. He was the one  who gave the final bow to his own father and aunt under the orders he recieved from Rakasha. From this time the clan heads stick to their traditions in the means of trainging the next generations, keeping the clan safe from outsiders and inner conflicts.  Those who are deemed a dangerous factor inside or outside of the clan are secretly assasinated by the descendants of Rakasha. The next heads also make great succes in raising the next generations and planting them with a great sense of duty towards their clan. Fortunately this causes an inner piece with few members opposing them and a decrease in those who leave the clan. This makes less jobs for the current assasins, but their system is still kept as a tradition. Over the passing generations, side effects of their ability takes a toll on the clan what concludes in less birth and more death. Also, partakes in the wars claimes many lives of the members while protecting their village. As their numbers decreases, their influence and importance too. In the 3rd shinobi war the current clan head is a strict but mercifull man Hikaru( 輝), the father of Ryuuji. As a leader with great sense of responsibilty he fights alongside his men, what leads to his death. By this time, Ryuuji is still too young to take over the duty of the clan head so its decided that until his training finishes his mother, Hitomi will lead the clan. She becames the second female lead, since the time of Akasha, she is the only female who takes on this role. She too, is a strict leader with great political and diplomatic sense. She manages the clan with greet care, always listening to her people but sticking to her opinion, that she will do everything it takes to protect their now little clan. By this time they have members around 60. She still maintains their own training ground what she too, uses for the kids and where she taughts them the importance of being loyal and devoting themselves to the clan. Hitomi strictly sticks to their traditions, always vary of outsiders. Under her care, Ryuuji who was always a shy and gentle kid with a soft heart becames arrogant and confident. He trusts his mother and believes that she is always right. He becames distant from his old friends and starts to treat them differently, not as friends but more as his future subjects. This will cause a major conflict with one of his genin teammates and fellow clan member, Megumi, who honestly tells him that he started to act as a spoiled little prince with a stick in his ass. The tension between them becomes so great that it almost breaks up the whole team. His other teammate and also a clan member Yoru is the only one who can keep them at a thin balance. Thanks to her efforts they are somehow able to pass the chuunin exam as a team, but after that Ryuuji and Megumi fight so much that they arent able to function as a team anymore. At this time their respective sensei is Megumi’s father, as they were a special team in Ameas an experience of an all-clan member team. Their strengths and elements were taken in consideration too, because the sensei had an affinity for wind, Ryuuji had an affinity for water, Yoru for earth, and Megumi for fire. They balanced each other out, and thanks to clan’s special training were used to make powerfull collaboration jutsus at a young age. Altought the whole ordeal lost it’s purpose when they failed to function as a team. Also,right after the death of his father became frinds with a woman called Shizuka. She was a quiet companion who understood his pain because she was orphaned at a young age. She helped him with his training sometimes and they quickly became friends. Shizuka was drawn in by Ryuuji’s charisma and confiedence altought he showed her his quiet and gentle side too. The woman adored his resolve even tought Ryuuji was shy too like her. She had the same problem as him. They both had confiedence in their abilities but lacked it as a person. Later, when they reached the age of eightteen, and Megumi and Ryuuji were promoted to jounin rank, their ex-sensei, Megumi’s father disappeared while on a mission. This hit not only her hard, but Ryuuji too. Megumi already lost her mother before she became a genin, and now she was totally left with her younger sister. He took pity on her understanding her pain, and tried to act more like a friend. This caused a conflict with his mother too, who already was angry with his son for trusting an outsider of the clan. Hitomi was angry at Megumi for not taking on as many missions as before and she didnt understand why she isnt entrusting her sister more on the clan. As mentioned above, they had a facility where kids could stay and learn when their parents were away. But Megumi refused the opinion and wanted to take care of her sister herself, and she used the training ground with her sister, thus not allowing her to rely on other tutors as much as other kids. Ryuuji once asked Megumi about it, and he accepted her reason, that she doesnt want Hisae to feel left alone, since she is the only relative her sister had. They relationship still was tense, because Megumi wanted him to return to his old self, but they didnt had their relation as horrible as before. Also, this time he learned about the duties of the assassin of the clan, as helearned  that Megumi was already treated as a dangerous factor and was observed. Ryuuji didnt understood the whole ordeal at all. He asked his mother to tell the reason. Hitomi called for Ryou and ordered him to fill his soon with the detailes. Much to his shock, he learned that Megumi’s father was assassinated by him for treason. He then learned that something broke in the man, when he lost his wife. He became obsessed with the fact that the way of the clan had claimed her life. After observation it became clean that he was contacted by an outsider who was very interested in the ability of the clan. And he willed to give out secret information. Thus he was assassinated. It was such a big blow to his trust towards the clan and his mother he seriously started to doubt their ways of leading. But he didnt voiced his option. He knew that even if his mother would never order for his death, if Ryou would see him as a treat he would end his life even without an order and simply give her mother a report regarding the matter. That was the time, when Hisae left the village to search for his father. Hitomi liked the kid, but still called for the current assassin, Ryou. She entrusted a mission to him, of bringing Hisae back. Megumi first panicked and wanted to attack Ryou to ensure her sister’s safety, but Ryuuji held her back. It would be a straight act of treason, and Ryou would have the right to defend himself, even if he could kill her in the process. Instead Ryuuji himself conforted the male later at his house, with Shizuka. He made a gamble. He introdiced the two of them to each other and telled Ryou that Shizuka enjoyes his absolute trust, and then, he left with her. This was a hint that Ryou couldnt ignore. He wanted to observe the woman, so he needed to finish his mission quickly. Ryuuji’s action made him less interested in the hunt, thus killing his predatory intents. Since he became uninterested in his current task he wanst as eager for a fight, so he convinced Hisae to come back, who was freaked out when she saw him. After returning Ryou started to observe Shizuka and Ryuuji and was amused by the fact that he actually needs to observe a hier as a dangerous factor. Altought he knew they are up to something he couldnt prove it. So he didnt knew that this time Ryuuji made a deal with Shizuka. He give her his own blood as a sample and tasked her to make a poison for it. He knew that they had extraordinary poison and venom resistance, but he knew that fact too, that before this no poison master had the chance to study their blood and use it as a sample. Shizuka accepted the tasked and at first she tought that Ryuuji wants to put out Ryou of commission and was a little taken aback when he told her that he wants a safe poison, one that weakens the blood release user without killing him. Then he told her, his newfound intentions of renewing the clan. He refused their ways of dealing with things, their strict traditions and paranoid fear of outsiders. Unknowlingly he started to plan for a future what the founders originally wanted the clan to be. He started to dream of a place where their members were free from fear and to live their lifes how they want. She called him a bloody idealist and naive, then Ryuuji reassured her, that he is not, and he still will deal with those who want to hurt the clan, but simply cant accept these kind of dirty methods. As time passed, Shizuka was done with the new poison, but they decided to keep it a secret until Ryuuji becomes the head and starts to change their ways. They meant the poison for Ryou if he would oppose his plans, but they never dreamed that they will use this on other members in the future. Also this is the time when Ryuuji was appointed as the leader of Hisae’s team and they became close friends too. Years passed in peace, and Ryuuji spent his time with his team and his free time with getting ready for the time when he will become the head. He was still a little arrogant sometimes but he succesfully revived his friendship with his old teammates. Also this was the time too, when Megumi started to give clear signs that she likes him. At first this freaked him out and caused lots of awkward and embrassing moments for him, and he was angered by the fact that Megumi actually enjoyed embrassing him. Their relationship became very funny for an outsider as they always exchanged heated arguements and behaved like immature kids. He felt even embrassed because he liked her when he was a kid and he felt torn apart too, because he knew the truth regarding her father. This caused him such a great inner conflict that he always turned down Megumi in a harsh tone out of frustration. He couldnt bring himself to accept her when she knew nothing, and he couldnt tell her either. Also because Megumi didnt knew the cause of his frustration, she mistook it for embrassment and harassed him jokingly. And much to his his grief it didnt went unnoticed by Ryou, who still wanted to find out his little deal with Shizuka. Ryou too, started to pick on him jokingly and found his outbrusts and struggles amusing. And to make things even worse Shizuka, who knew nothing about Megumi’s father, started to mock him too. She knew that Ryuuji too has a thing for Megumi and simply couldnt understand how can he be so awkward about it. Just like Megumi, she mistook his actions, and blamed it on his shyness. These happenings caused a total laughable situation for Ryuuji and gave him a really hard time. As the 4th war hit in things got even more complicated. They led supporting roles, with only a few members out on real fights. Megumi and Yoru were the only ones who fought on the front lines from the start. Megumi had an especially hard time and exhausted herself a lot and overused her abilties to the point, when she couldnt move for a whole day. Later Ryuuji heard that she took such a ridiculosly high risk and were so reckless that he would have slapped her if he was there. He always knew that Megumi can be careless and playfull but he really wanted to hit her whenhe knew that Megumi secretely summoned her Inugami and then used herself as bait and did a very reckless ambush. While the enemy didnt knew that they heal from most mortal wound while their Inugami is summoned, and she ordered it hide she marched inside the enemy, had her long hair grabbed from behind and got her throat cut. She played dead for a while, while her throat healed and then used her blood she lost as a trap by making various strings out of it and stopping their movements. Later, she even summoned all her blood she stored from the age of ten to strenghten her medium with her Inugami, Hachi. Thanks to this Hachi turned into a huge, several meters tall beast, a massive monster made of blood. But controlling such an unheard amount of blood quickly exhausted her and she passed out. This was his first time when he almost got a heart attack in the war. The second time was, when Hisae and Shizuka appeared with a half-dead Ryou. Hisae reported him, that they encountered the twin founders of the clan and they really messed up Ryou who almost got killed by Rakasha. Rakasha was the only clan member who was capable to control someone else’s blood when he mixed his with the opponent. Unfortunately, to do it he didnt needed to mix his with Ryou who is a straight descendant of him, and carries his blood, literally, in a pure manner. So Rakasha took controll over Ryou’s blood and used it to tear him from inside, and only his own efforts to regain controll saved him. And then Shizuka reported in, that she needed to use her poison on the founders, so now Ryou knows about it, so Ryuuji will really need to watch his back later. Fortunately Ryou didnt planned to hurt him, but as he was sleeping deeply he couldnt voice this, so Ryuuji got totally stressed out again. In the all out war against the Juubi most Chino members joined the fight as well. The only expections were Megumi and Ryou whom both was in bad shape. Megumi wanted to join the fight no-matter-what when she learned that Hisae is going too, so once again, Shizuka used her poison to make her sleep. A now reassured Ryuuji who knew, that the stupid woman wont march into the fight half-dead, joined the battle too. When the Juubi released all the mini clones of himself he noticed Hisae who was forced back and was in serious trouble, even with her Inugami standing. Ryuuji too, already summoned his companion Mamoru( 守) and rushed to help out the girl. As he throws Hisae away, his left side is crushed by an attack and his left hand becames totally useless. In theory it would heal in minutes, but his abdominal arteries are thorn open. Having cut off the head, burning the body, or the damageto the most important blood vessels, cant be regenerated by the enchantment of an Inugami. Ryuuji is doomed to an early death, because of it, and because he already was pushing his abilities over his limits. Some other shinobi rushed to help and they were saved. Mamoru made a huge sacrifice to save his friend’s life. He choose to heal the mortal wound with all spare chackra he had and managed to close the damaged arteries, but didnt had spare power to heal his arm, so he lost it. He stayed in a state of coma even after the war more than two months. When he came to, he learned about Mamoru’s sacrifice, and learned that he wont be able to ever summon him. He fell into a depression and refused the help of every friend of his. Megumi forcefully take on the duty of taking care of him. It frustrated Ryuuji to his core, because he wanted to be left alone and was very harsh with her, even making her cry more than once. Meanwhile Shizuka told everything to Ryou who was laughing hard that the whole little conspiration happened before his nose and decided to support Ryuuji. He even conforted Hitomi, who too, learned about Shizuka knowing their secrets and ordered Ryou to assassinate her. He refused to the shock of the old woman, and told her that from now on he is loyal to Ryuuji, and wont take orders from her. He also gave her insight on Ryuuji’s plans and feelings, because he was curious of her reactions. At first she showed such anger that Ryou feared she will kill everyone with her own hands, but as she calmed down she reached the conclusion she will retire from being the head. This was the only solution for her to save his son. If she stays the head she needs to act like it, but if she gives this role to his son, she can act like a mother. But Ryuuji was in a very deep depression and looked like if he doesnt care about anything in the world. In the end, she was the one who gave an all-night scolding to his son, telling him, that he is a total idiot as a clan leader and as a person too. Ryuuji feared her more than to oppose her so as an obiedent son he reflected on his actions and realized that Mamoru wouldnt sacrificed himself, if he wouldnt believe in him. Gaining strenght from his now gone companion he decided to stand up and lead his clan. He apologized to Megumi too, who gave him an almost as big scolding as Hitomi did. Altought he didnt want more anything than to embrance the furious woman before him, he still held himself back because he couldnt bring himself to it. He remembered that Megumi still didnt knew the truth about his father. After realizing that this is what helds his cousin back Ryou decided to tell the sisters the truth himself. This was the second time when he almost was killed by Megumi, as she lanched herself at him after hearing it. Yoru was the one who held the crying Megumi back. She comforted her friend who doesnt seemed to accept the fact that his father tried to sold out the clan. She denied it with her everything. Hisae was shocked too, but she wasnt as hotheaded as her sister. Ryou just stood there awkwardly because he knew he did something terrible to the sisters even tought he himself didnt understand such feelings, and it was natural to him to carry out his duties. As a few months passed Megumi slowly understood what her father have done after she talked to Hitomi several times. Hitomi shoved all the evidence they had and since she took pity on the young girl, she told her where she can find the grave of his father. All this time Ryuuji felt like he is in hell and buried himself in work. He slowly started to reshape the clan, removing unneccessarily harsh laws and such. When he was finally brave enough to see Megumi she simply helped him with his work. He learned that Megumi was angry at him for keeping the whole thing a secret, but understood that he has no say in the matter, and she knew he first didnt even knew about it. Ryuuji became reassured and for a long time he felt himself free from the curses of the clan. As things settled down and he spent more time with his friends again he started to feel pressured again. Shizuka and Ryou still mocked himabout his feelings for Megumi but he just couldnt bring himself to tell her what he felt. Shizuka went as far as telling Yoru about the whole thing, who brust out lauging. She always knew that Megumi liked Ryuuji, but she didnt knew it was mutual. She did the only thing a good friend would do and mocked Megumi to make things clear before Ryuuji not with signs, because he is too awkward to react to them, but with words. Megumi was at first reluctant, because Yoru was considerate enough not give Ryuuji out, but she convienced her friend. So Megumi gathered all her courage and told her feelings to Ryuuji, who immediately knew that his friends are somehow behind this all after all the mocking. Cornered like this he finally admitted and sorted out his feelings and told Megumi he loved her too. He was startled as Megumi threw herself at him with joy and almost passed out by embrassement but somehow managed to endure the the whole awkward situation. After reshaping the clan, erasing all unneccessary pressure and laws, the clan opened up itself a little more. They werent as strict as before and reclaimed the original ideal it was built on. They started to support orphans once again, and gave a chance for those members who couldnt bear a child anymore, to adopt orphans outside of the clan. The time, when the marriage between members and outsiders was still far aways but Ryuuji knew he cant change things overnight and knew that the members need time to adapt their new freedoom and for the elders need time to accept the new changes. Ryuuji erased the role of Ryou who became an ordinary member like anyone else. For first he founded it very strange but he enjoyed the whole thing in his own twisted way. He still had a very tense relationship with Megumi, but as she accepted that he is important to Ryuuji she didnt pressed the matter too much. They married and Megumi got pregnant. Ryuuji gave Ryou a secret mission to locate the tomb of the founders, so Ryou left in secret. Everyone tought that ironically the shinobi they trained to execute runaways, became a missing-nin himself. Shizuka suffered a lot since, she started to like the strange man, but Hisae conforted her. As years passed Ryou came back and Hisae was there when he gave his report to Ryuuji. He managed to find the tomb, and when he entered he triggered a revival jutsu, what brought back the twins to protect their resting place from intruders. As they werent controlled by edo tensei anymore, they were ways more calm and less offensive toward him, altought Akasha wanted to torture him at first, for what he did with her when they fought in the war(of course he didnt knew how to shut his damned big mouth). Rakasha managed to calm down his sister and concinved her that it isnt proper to torture someone who seeks her audiance. Ryou was taken aback by their back and forth since he heard their legends and after the war he tought they were true, but soon learnt they werent as bad as he tought. He told them the current state of clan and that they are living in piece and they have friends aoutside the clan who are loyal to them. Akasha looked pleased in her strange majestic way, like an empressed who is pleased by her subjects. Rakasha simply sighed because the behavior of his sister, but didnt seemed that bothered at all, instead he seemed reassured and at peace. Then he told Ryou the truth behind their disappearance what first angered Akasha but she regained her composure fast. She simply sighed and then stated thatit doesnt matter since the dead mustnt involve themselves with the troubles of the living. She started to act more and more like her old rightous self and decided that she will be generous enough that she wont kill Ryou and will forgive him for disturbing their sleep. Rakasha went as far that he gave a scroll to Ryou of their old and long forgotten secret techniques to support their cause. While Akasha disappeared to go back to her rest, Ryou told the remaining Rakasha that they plan to move their remains back to the clan. Rakasha smiled playfully and then wrote another scroll to Ryou before disappearing. Ryou read the message he left(because he cant speak) and he laughed as he read it. Rakasha wrote down the dispelling of the revival technique when entering their tomb, because he was sure that Akasha would kill anyone who disturbes their rest again. Ryuuji then ordered for a retrival squad and she placed Hisae, Yoru and Ryou together in it. After slowly reshaping the clan, the first true accomplishement happend after the years of hard work. It was the marriage of Ryou and Shizuka. Since the founding of the clan Shizuka was the first outsider who was allowed to marry into it. At first the elders were opposed to it, but a friendly request from the former assassin of the clan, changed their mind(who would oppose a bloody sociopath..). Actually Ryuuji was as shocked as everyone else when Ryou told him that he wants to marry Shizuka. They wasnt surprised at him choosing Shizuka at all, butat the fact that he decided to marry someone at all. This was the third time, when Megumi wanted to kill him, and threatening him, that if he ever makes anything wrong to her Shizu, they will never find his body. After Hisae and Ryuuji managed to calm her down they had the chance to come over their shock too. They all knew that something was between the two over the years but they never tought it was serious, at least for Ryou. Ryuuji even went as far as stating that this is the marriage of the two people he ever known to be so socially awkward. Later Ryuuji’s and Megumi’s son, Akira, who always adored Ryou was so overjoyed that he started to question Ryou about their relationship. It made him really awkward since he never liked kids, and never knew how to deal with them. By this time the clan had lots of diplomatic connections outside the village since they took part in taking care of orphans. They went as far as building an orphanage in their own district near to their training grounds where the orphans could play with the members’s kids. The leader of the orphanage was Yoru, who was a very kind and considerate woman and because the overusage of her clan abilities she no more had the chance to bear a child on her own. But she proudly said even tought she is the mother of the most kids in the clan. Thanks to Ryuujis efforts the generation born after the war, like his son Akira, were raised in the spirit of acceptance and they never lived like they need to be paranoidly suspicious of outsiders. In the end he was able to forge the clan into something it was originally meant to be. - They were a once highly respected clan, but overusage of their abilities weakened their reproductive abilities and their bodies too. For example the first head of the clan could use his own blood as an armour covering his body, but nowdays nobody in the clan can do that jutsu anymore. They try to crawl back to their old lost position, so they only care about their reputation. Hitomi, the clan’s current head is a retired kunoichi with great political skills. Currently she is the one who do all the lobby to keep their places. In the 3rd shinobi war, they have lost almost the half of their clan members. Whileunder Ryuuji’s guidance after the 4th war, they gained back some of their former glory and supported the cause of orphans world-wide. Clan symbol: a red wolf head Kekkei Genkai: -Chiton/Blood relase - Allows a member to have a limited control over his blood and blood producing cells. Don’t imagine it the way in Deadman Wonderland. Blood always needs a connection to the body, expect for some special clan jutsus, like blood shurikens and blood bird technique. True they can make different kinds of edges and whips with crystalising their blood. Also when it’s in use it maipulates their bloodcells to produce more blood for their techniques. Side effects: this technique oldens the body if used little. It will break down the body consulting death if overused. Those members who actively use their abilities usually die at a relatively young age, likey late forties or early fiftyies. Trivia: -Akasha is of hindish origin, meaning 'root’ or 'origin’. Rakasha is the same, just a modified name, to males. Something similar to western names of the same origin like Eric and Erica. -Michi, the name of Rakasha’s companion means 'road’ or 'path’ -The companion of Akasha named Naomi is a male wolf too. His name is written with the masculine form 直己, what means honest/straight, self, instead of the feminine form 直美, what means honest/straight, beauty. -The key to the ritual they perform is the blood of the original user of the clan, Rakasa’s. He is the ONLY member who is capable of manipulating not only his, but those blood too, whom he mixies his own. He is the only one capable of doing this. This is the later cause of the decreasing number of the clan members, because no one else can do it. -Those who wonder: Rakasha is using sign language to communicate with his sister, wife and son. And he can make strange moans and sounds too, but his vocal cords are too damaged to make more difficult sounds. -Ryuuji’s name means dragon rule, it was given to him by his father. He wanted his son to be a righteous leader. Altought not exactly as his father tought, he became a leader loved by his men.

Wow that’s a lot of information. Some of the wording is a little confusing, so sorry if I misunderstood anything.

History:

Well thought out, complex politics, I like it, especially the later histories. The only things you might have to think through are:

a) if Akasha and Rakasha are both orphans, where did Rakasha learn his ninja techniques in an orphanage? How did he get his hands on these ninja texts?

b) ninjas learn their skills after years and years of tutoring under experienced teachers - even Kakashi, a prodigy, was taught his skills. For Rakasha to have so much skills from being self-taught with absolutely no guidance seems overdone. Also, medical jutsu is shown to be one of the most complex and delicate techniques in canon, so it would be double hard for him to learn even to manipulate small amounts of blood as a child.

c) for him to be able to pass on his technique through blood, he must have somehow created a kekkai genkai, which is even harder than the things I said above. Maybe you should think about giving Rakasha a teacher, or have him and his sister just being born with a mysterious blood power that they only later discovered?

Technique:

I really like this technique too; again, you obviously put a lot of thought into it. You also included some weaknesses for it, which is very good, since it’s a strong technique. However, I think to make it more balanced, you could maybe tweak the following:

a) there is so much variation in this technique, maybe you don’t need the weapons to be able to burn?

b) maybe the infertility spreads to males as well - their reproductive mechanisms are also affected by things like diseases and poison

c) about the poison thing; if the clan is immune to poisons, the body would deal with them in one of two ways; either it wouldn’t accept the poison in the first place, meaning they wouldn’t be able to pass on their poison through their weapons, or the ninjas would have to actively remove the poison from their bloodstream before it really affected them - this would mean that if a Chino member got poisoned, they would have to take a moment to step back from the fight and concentrate on removing the poison from their bloodstream. This could balance the technique a bit more too - for every positive, a negative.

d) finally, I don’t think you need the guardian wolf summons. I like the ritual you included and that you based it on a real Japanese custom, but maybe just make it a folk-belief in the clan instead of a real ninjutsu technique? Summons are pretty rare in the Naruto world, so for a couple of Chino members to be able to summon wolves is not too weird, but for them to be magical, ghost-spirits that give chakra to their partners seems a bit over the top. I would suggest you make them just normal wolf-summons.

But I love your clan and all the hard work you put into the history and style of the technique. Keep up the good work :)

dream journal. 56.

[lucid dream achieved]

july 13th, 2019

holy moly. so. i found out about subliminal audios right? and i i think i found the perfect one. after a couple days of dry sleep, i listened to this subliminal six times, once before sleep, the second when i woke up early morning, and guess what happened? i remember five whole dreams, and one of this was lucid! i think i need to continue to exercise my recall however, since while i still remember these dreams, they are spotty, like distant memories. still, this is amazing!! planning to use subliminals and research them extensively now! anyway, onto the dreams.

my first dream was a little interesting and coherent. i was sitting in a hotel room with like ten other people and all of us were sitting in chairs or on two beds just watching movie in a dim room. it was a robin movie, the character from dc, in this 3d animation style that was like the lego movie, but more with action figures then lego dudes. the premise of the story was that robin didn’t want to be a side kick anymore, he wanted to be like the full fledge heroes.

so he want to the base of… archer? he looked like an archer, but was voiced by ryan reynolds, who had these statues of big name super heroes. robin would go to each one, and somehow able to shift aspects of himself to mimic these heroes, in his attempt to be better like them. but then suddenly the tv we were watching it on went haywire and flipped through channels. everyone was like ‘hey, wtf!” and i grab the remote to change it back. but the remote was acting weird too, and wouldn’t change the channel immediately. the others turned their heads angrily t me, when i finally got it to change back into the movie. i sigh in relief, someone on my left chuckles and i whisper to them and laugh too, “wow they were ready to just annihilate me there, haha.”

the second dream was short, it was just a dream about jenna marbles and her dogs- and instead of peach she got this little grey girl chihuahua instead, and she was this lumpy little baby. you can tell dogs apart simply by their barks.

the third dream was… i don’t know. weird. kinda gross but not in a body-horror way. i had a dream that my skin was peeling, maybe form sun burn? and i start to carefully peel it off like whatever, but then the dead becomes like a shell almost, hard, and i have to crack them off. but if i crack the pieces off my skin too early, the skin itself becomes red- not irritable or painful but just red, and i could see the stark difference in color between the red and the normal color of the unaffected areas. it was… really weird, i don’t know.

fourth dream was my lucid dream. it didn’t start lucid, and was set in the 1950s i believe, and i was getting out of a car with a guy that i think was supposed to be my boyfriend? idk. we were coming back from a train station. and as we were walking down the actually crowded streets of night i become lucid. i rub my hands because whenever i realize this, the dream never fails to try and destroy itself. rubbing my hands always fixes it. eventually i ditch the guy and go on my own in this house. another party. unfortunately, there is a point in this dream where i don’t think i’m fully lucid but still aware of what’s going on. like, i’m aware, but don’t have the clear enough conscious to change anything, so i’m just aware of the ebb of flow of the dream.

actually i tried to get a npc from far past to come, but- he never looked right at all, he get shifting, until he was a completely different entity all together. mega fail. i’ll try again later. i’m looking into making a servitor or something of that sort so i can practice energy and spiritwork, something simple of course. but in order to do that i have to make sure that the dream doesnt have its strings on me like it did last night. i need to remember my plans and goals of lucid dreaming.

one final dream, something with story and a little fun.

hellboy wasn’t part of an organization, he was just an alcoholic friend that was good at fighting and shooting guns. we both go to this large household, and come face to face with these albino warrior elves. we get into it a bit, thinking each other the enemy, but eventually we realize we’re actually supposed to meet and help each other with a common enemy between us, so we calm down and get to talking. apparently there’s this type of monster that’s going around kidnapping baby humans, and the elves had a device in order to lure the thing in, and all of us were gonna kill the thing. however, the device needed these crystals to be put into its mechanisms and at first we were like ‘lol okay? so do it.” so they slide the crystals in, close the hatch, activate it and… nothing happens. we’re all confused and the elves open the machine to find that the crystals were just straight up gone.

i turn to hb like “omg did you steal the crystals or something you big oaf” and he gets mock-offended and makes a point go taking off his big jacket and fwipping it up and down to show he didn’t somehow snatch the crystals. we bicker, but stop when we realize something. in the very household we were in, there were human babies in cradles. perhaps they were supposed to help in luring the monster, but when we look, the baby human has been replaced by a baby chimp, wearing a onesie and everything. everyone fucking flips and we go upstairs where we knew two other babies were being kept. we were too late. and we don’t know what happened.

okay ive rested eaten and have my laptop and i still have THOUGHTS

like, its obvious to anyone whos read far enough into orv that kdj doesnt like talking about or acknowledging his own distress. however, this isnt a hard and fast rule. hes more willing to speak about hurt when it isnt actively happening to him and when it is something he finds a "normal" trauma.

early on, when we're first introduced to him in the prologue, hes willing to touch on the Kim Dokja Background Cringe Compilation: "I have been steadily reading this novel since the third year of middle school. Even when I was bullied by the delinquents at my school, even when I had to enter a third-rate, local university since I cred up my entrance exams, even when I was assigned to a military unit at the frontlines since the damn military draft lottery went wrong, and even now, working as a contractor for a large subsidiary, still without a full-time job..." like, cool story bro, thanks for walking us through your traumas. however, as he reaches the present, he finishes off by going: "...damn it, let's stop thinking about this. Anyway."

additionally, when he's talking to yoo sangah in ch1, hes fully willing to commiserate with her about how, "It seems like just yesterday, but the contract period is already over." when they remember that this is not something ysa is going through as well, he switches on a dime. he feels incredibly dismal about his life (describing a feeling of dissociation from the world) but distracts ysa from this with congratulations and platitudes.

just from these early examples, we can show that kdj is not necessarily opposed to talking about his own distress, but the second it seems to hit too close to home, or appears irregular to a common experience, he shies away from it.

by ch76, hes done a small amount of set-up to the introduction to his mother, which is something that is incredibly distressing to him even in the present, AND its not exactly a common experience to have the kind of dynamic with his mother that he does. this is something he STRONGLY avoids thinking about, only acknowledging her in small bursts, usually when forced. (the fog that shows everyone some sort of trauma, when he has to eat the crystals to escape monsters in the third main scenario and it sends him to a mental prison).

the most he's willing to acknowledge the truth of his mother (prior to the incident with the fourth wall, which changes the truth and their dynamic of that day to a large degree) is after his conversation with her a little bit before peaceland. he talks to ysa about it, however he opens with: "I took a deep breath before saying with exaggerated tone. “My mother killed my father.” Strangely, my words sounded ridiculous. I spoke like it was someone else’s story." when he starts talking about the book, ysa assumes that hes changing topics very suddenly. and when he finishes, he mentions that he feels a "sense of victory" over the fact that ysa cant relate to this situation, and sweeps it under the rug by telling her: "I'm sorry. It was a joke." this is an incident that is both actively fucking him up, and something he knows isnt normal. when forced to confront it, he allows himself to tell the truth as he understands it, but continues to shy away from it by detaching himself from the story and pretending like it was something he made up afterwards.

kdj doesnt like to acknowledge his own internal hurt. hes willing to recite a list of troubles, but doesnt want to delve into how they actually made him feel without some sort of wall protecting him (hello fourth wall!) its easier to externalize a narrative than it is to feel a narrative. thats why kdj detaches himself from his story about his mother, and thats why kdj allows himself to achieve revenge against song minwoo. by overcoming the shaking of the fourth wall.

now, ive been talking a lot about how hes willing to acknowledge trauma if it feels like a common experience, and i think the example with ysa about company contracts proves this well enough, but he explicitly says this when talking to han sooyoung before he destroys song minwoo: ""...Do you know that bastard? [...] I'm sorry. I didn't want to hear it, but the words he said to you..."

[...] "Yes, I know him. [...] That bastard. He is [a normal] trauma."

"...[What is a normal] trauma? A trauma is serious."" while rainbow turtle's translation refers to this as "obviously a trauma," and an "obvious trauma," its more fitting for him to call it a "normal trauma," as in a trauma that is just soooo normal. whats more normal of a trauma than being bullied as a high schooler? and since its normal, even if it still hurts him, its totally fine and easy to overcome. its normal, so hes willing to admit it exists in the first place.

he mentions that, "Whenever I looked at this guy's face, I felt the '17 year old Kim Dokja' inside me shrink back. Poor thing. From now on, I would get revenge for 'him.' [...] The 17 year old Kim Dokja was watching me in my memories." he dissociates himself from the person who was hurt. he expresses his hurt onto an outside force. its even a normal trauma, what more do you want!

its only when he has to link his hurt unto himself without pretense that he refuses to do so. (i cant find the passage but) when he sees a notebook detailing 15yo kdjs memories in his mind palace, he throws it into the dark. when he meets od, he tries to kill od. then tries to kill himself via memory linkage. he refuses to acknowledge the context in which he stumbled upon ways of survival. these things are actively hurting him. they are in his face. they are impossible to be distanced from. they are not "normal." and thus, they are undeserving of acknowledgement or, if forced to acknowledge them, they are undeserving of sympathy.

i just think its interesting.

its interesting, one of the only times kim dokja is willing to stick up for and be kind to his younger self is in his fight against song minwoo at ch76. by song minwoo being a force of violence both in the past and in the present, it allows kdj the opportunity to indulge in sympathizing with his younger self without commiting to vulnerabilities the way his other exchanges require. its easier to get revenge for an obvious wrong committed by an outside force than it is to care for your younger self without distraction.
