🍓Okay so this ask kinda has three parts to it, so please excuse me if it seems a little... all over the place. I'll answer both the pre and post ep 8 things, and then I'll be touching on what he's like with the threat. I do hope you enjoy my love <3

Pre Episode 8

From how the story seems to be set up, the confrontation with SMC should happen last, they just released it now because of the anniversary knowing he'd be hella popular lol. So I'm functioning with the idea that Gingerbrave and Co. arrive around when the other Ancients are finishing up their own confrontation with their respective beasts, meaning there's a lot of time to work with hehe.

Anyway, pre-episode 8 Shadow Milk leans into the category of 'yandere' a lot more than post. He's very obsessive about you, again stalking and watching you, learning as much as he can about you before he even allows you to see him.

You're more often than not being monitored by him, and if you're not, he's probably with you. He gets annoyed when other cookies talk to you, and he isn't afraid to voice that. While he does give you a lot of freedom, he does subtly limit the things you do and the people you're around. It's harder when you're not with him in the spire, but he goes about messing with the environment to keep you where he wants you.

And, yes, he'll crumble cookies in your name if he needs to. Their lives are arbitrary in the grand scheme of things, especially so if they're causing you strife. He won't hurt any cookies you hold dear to you -- though he really may want to at times -- only cookies that are a threat to your emotional or physical well-being. If the death causes you too much terror, then he'll tone it down to just... making their lives a miserable hellscape. It's what the deserve for hurting you, of course!

When you do join him in the spire (because you will, it's just a matter of how long it takes him to nudge you in that direction), the behavior is a bit more obvious. He doesn't like you leaving the spire for literally anything, and if you do he knows and will pop up by your side the second you stray too far. He plays it up as cute worrying, but he's legitimately scared for your wellbeing, like terrified. You're never alone in the spire if he can help it (and he can).

Like I said he watches a lot. There are eyes all around the spire and they follow you shamelessly. They appear content to just watch you, sometimes even literally forming hearts, so they're no threat to your well-being. Again, he's just observing you, more excited now that you're actually in the spire and close to him.

There is a notable difference in the environment, though you likely don't notice it (because you've only ever seen post you moving in). The atmosphere surrounding the spire is lighter, more colorful, and happy. It reflects his excitement at having you around, a visual nod to his love for you, even though you're not exactly away of it.

Despite the negatives here, there are positives! He's incredibly doting, you'll want for nothing with him. Your greatest dreams will come true with a wave of his hand, even with only half his power. He does let you wander around, you just won't be alone when you do so. He's very aware of the dangerous environment on beast yeast, he's cause for it, so he won't be risking your safety.

He's incredibly showy with his style of loving. Grand gifts and performances just to get you grinning and giggling. (He loves writing plays where the two of you are the main characters, falling in love in a million different ways, cutie he is.) He serenades you with syrupy sweet lyrics all about how much he adores all of you. Scoops you up in his arms and dances around with you. He's very touchy, like I said, always needing to have physical contact for whatever reason. (It's because he's scared you'll leave him too.)

He doesn't kiss you much if only to initiate more intimate activities. When he does, his intent is to fluster you nearly every time. Kissing is something that's hard for him, for whatever reason. It's more intimate than touches, and weirdly enough more intimate than sex in his mind. It makes him so vulnerable, so he tries to avoid it unless it's to get a reaction out of you.

Most of what he does is to get a reaction, actually. He likes seeing the way you express yourself, and regardless of what you do, he finds it cute. It's a little intimidating how much he stares, and he stares a lot. Very frequently you'll find him sitting around just... watching you. He won't stop even if you acknowledge it, just smiles all innocently until you go back to what you were doing.

That's sort of how it feels during this whole time, that he's just watching from the outside. There's a distance he keeps between you and him, the power dynamic is a lot more stark here. However, when you're not aware - be that you're sleeping or doing something where you can't see him - genuine affection comes out.

Floating around the spire in his arms as you rest, he whispers sweet nothings he could never bring himself to say to your face. He'll lead you around the winding halls of the spire with a path of your favorite flowers, aiding you in getting to where you want to go. He leaves gifts around, taking you on little treasure hunts just to reveal something sweet and heartfelt at the end. The spire itself shifts and changes around you to be more to your liking, and there are rooms within it dedicated to the hobbies you enjoy.

This gentleness is all hidden when you're together, though. Only showing itself when you can't look him in the eyes and reject him. He can't bring himself to let you in, he's scared of that rejection. He wants you to think he's powerful and amazing, so allowing you to see just how much he adores you would be terrible. What if you don't like him at his weakest? What if you realize that you could do better than him? What if you meet Pure Vanilla and you realize how much better he is? What if you leave him? Oh, it tears him apart.

So, he can't let you in. He'll put on a performance so dazzling it'll distract you from how much his heart aches when he sees you. He'll prove that he really does love you through flowery words and fantastical shows, anything to hide how much he adores you. Even when you try to get him to connect, he'll brush it off for fear of you not accepting him as he is. He can't handle you rejecting him, not after all he's done to keep you at his side, not after how hard he's fallen in love with you.

Post Episode 8

This is where we see Shadow Milk Cookie open up a lot more to you. After the so-called betrayal of Truthless Recluse, and his being incredibly emotionally vulnerable from Compassionate Pure Vanilla's offer for friendship, he's now forced with the problem of you knowing him. You saw that raw vulnerability, the loneliness that aches deep within his dough and infects his very being with a sickness he cannot cure.

No matter how much he puts on airs, he cannot avoid you knowing him now. He has nothing to hide behind anymore, you saw how much he craves connection and care, there's no going back from that. He briefly considers leaving you, but the idea of losing you sends shivers up his back, so he dismisses the thought as quickly as it comes. He may actively avoid you for a little while, but if you are patient and kind to him, he won't be able to hide for long.

Showing him that you still feel the same way by continuing your regular shows of affection is a huge relief to him. He truly expects you to think less of him now that you've seen that side of him, but you don't. It's rather odd to a cookie like him, who spent his entire existence being worshiped, revered, and feared. He assumes when you see him weak you will despise him - that you were only there for all the grandiose gifts and displays. He doesn't consider the thought that you have fallen in love with him. That you consider him yours as much as he considers you his.

It takes him a bit, but he begins to pick up where you left off. This time, though, he's more... gentle about everything. You get to take the lead around this time, and as odd as it is for him, it's cathartic to be taken care of for once. He can let his walls down and relax while you stroke his hair and hold him close to your chest. You kiss across his face with reverence that not even the most loyal of his followers could ever begin to replicate.

You love him.

He becomes addicted to the feeling, your affections being something he craves with a hunger he'd never felt before. It takes a bit for him to come to you for it, so usually you'll have to initiate it, but he melts into your hands so easily. It's pathetic how much hold a little cookie like you had over a god like him, but when you're humming sweet words at him he can't bring himself to care too much. (He will huff and puff if any of the other beasts give him shit for it, telling them off like a angry child.)

All of those hidden affections of his become much more obvious to you as time goes on. He's a bit awkward with it because he's never really been so open with any cookie before, but it's charming the way he tries so hard to be genuine with you.

You get to hear those sweet words of love from him directly, earnestly said while he holds your hand in an iron-tight grip. He gives you those heartfelt gifts by hand, telling you all about how he worked so hard to get it for you and how much care went into it. He leads you around places himself, preferring to be by your side than guiding you from a safe distance. Even the way he holds you is different, much more adoring than before. It's a kind of care he hadn't really shown you before, more considerate of what you might want rather than what he believes you might want.

And, of course, he kisses you now. Very frequently. He still does do it to fluster you at times, but less than he did before. Now every kiss has a purpose behind it, a means of displaying his affection for you. They're soft and loving, full of emotion.

Something that carries over consistently is the watching. He keeps an eye on you at all times, regardless of where you're at. Since you're no longer in the spire, there's more risk so he wants to ensure your safety. Even if you're with another beast or with Black Sapphire or Candy Apple, he's watching you anxiously.

Now if you acknowledge the eyes, they'll react to you. Before they usually just continued watching, but now they'll squint and shift excitedly at your attention. Sometimes he'll even drop flowers or a little plushie at your feet while the eye seems to grin at you with glee. You can kiss them, if you'd like -- they're warm and soft but they don't feel like eyes. If you do so the pupil with dart around nervously, then it'll pop out of existence and arrange itself to another spot you can't easily fluster him at.

Still, though, they just watch you for the most part. Making sure you're safe and happy when he isn't around. He's a bit less obsessive about who you're spending your time with, though. He trusts that you won't leave him a lot more now, and no longer finds himself threatened by anyone (other than PV).

Bonus below

Now, as a mortal cookie in beast yeast, most things put you in danger. It's a tough environment to live in, and there are a lot of violent characters around that wouldn't care if you died or not. However, most cookies are aware of Shadow Milk Cookie's, shall we say, claim on you.

There are very few things that could actually threaten you, especially with Shadow Milk Cookie monitoring you so closely. He makes the environment around you safer, and he makes sure everyone knows that you are off-limits. Unfortunately he cannot control everything, though he really does try to.

If anything, anything ever puts you in actual danger, he is beside himself with worry and rage. Your soft and sweet dough is not made for battle and danger, regardless of what you might feel. It would take the witches themselves to stop him from tearing apart the lands to ensure your safety. And tear them apart he would. He would carve deep valleys into the ground for you, slice mountains to their base, and raze forests flat if it means you will be safe.

If it's a cookie? Some insignificant act or protest from a foolish mortal, deciding to use you to get his attention? Oh, they'll know hell.

Depending on how much damage they do the punishment will vary, but it won't be pleasant regardless. If they just take you away for a little while, he'll torture them. Ensuring the life they go back to is much harder for them to live through, but he won't kill them. They have to learn their lesson and live to tell the tale so no one is stupid enough to follow their example.

If they hurt you at all, they're dead. Shadow Milk normally makes a show out of any crumbling he does, but when you are involved? He doesn't waste time with any silly shows, they just crumble. No fanfare, no sparkle, just death. They don't deserve anything more than that, not when they've caused you hurt.

Ah, and if there is a threat to you -- silly or not -- he takes it very seriously. His monitoring will increase tenfold, and he does his best to keep you with him at all times. He will not take your safety lightly, not when he adores you so.

If there is a genuine threat to your life, he will do everything in his power to remove it. After the fact, he becomes much more obsessive of your safety. It's almost suffocating for a while, but if you express concern he'll ease up a bit. Though you can feel the anxiety in his body language and the way which he speaks.

I’ve been inspired to add to this with what would happen when Glinda *DOES SUCCEED* by this post

This might get long so I’m putting it under a cut!

This is more just me headcanoning Elphie’s pregnancy rather than another incorrect quote but the Glinda in the picture and my Glinda from the incorrect quote above are the same person and you cannot tell me otherwise.

First of all: Fiyero was a part of the OG conversation because of course it’s actually a Thropple thing. He might not have been actively trying to get Elphaba pregnant, but Glinda was. (Whether or not Liir already exists in this universe as a Fiyeraba child, I’ll leave that up to you to decide).

After the conversation above was followed up with some ACTUAL conversation about having a child between all three of them, Elphaba decided that maybe a mini her and Glinda combo running around wouldn’t be so bad and actually put in some research into whether it would actually be possible to conceive a baby through magic. (Spoiler alert it was).

A few months of trying with *both* of their magic later….

Glinda may have passed out when Elphaba showed her the positive pregnancy test….

Luckily Fiyero was right there to catch her. (Even though he was also a little shocked that the magic worked!)

Once Glinda woke up after passing out at the pregnancy test she couldn’t believe their magic actually worked and they would soon have a little combination of the 2 of them in the house. She shot up despite Fiyero and Elphaba’s protests that she not stand up too fast and kissed Elphaba with all the passion her body could muster while she was still a little wobbly from being unconscious just a few seconds prior but Elphie knew what she was going for.

Glinda immediately went into overprotective mode. She wanted to know where Elphaba was at all times and didn’t want her to go anywhere without Glinda or Fiyero accompanying her.

But while being overprotective, she also became the most doting momsie to be. Not that Fiyero wouldn’t also be doting on their pregnant wife, but Glinda would make sure her wife would want for NOTHING. Keeping Elphaba and the baby happy and comfortable as possible would be her number one priority. Elphaba wakes up at 2 am to the baby doing summersaults on her bladder or kicking and punching her ribs? Glinda would also wake up, help get Elphie into a comfortable enough position, lean down and talk to or sing to her belly to help calm their little one down so their mama can rest. Cravings? Consider any food cravings hers! Whether Glinda goes in the bubble to get it herself or sends Fiyero out for it.

When Elphaba gets morning sickness Glinda refuses to leave her side. Rubbing her back, holding her hair, making sure she has stuff to settle her stomach. All the cuddles and kisses to make her feel better.

Elphaba reads all the pregnancy books and relays all the info to Glinda or just reads the book out loud while they cuddle. They all attend the birthing classes to make sure they’re as prepared as possible, but none of it mattered when the moment actually came. Glinda panicked. Just like when she passed out when Elphaba showed her the positive pregnancy test, she passed out when Elphie was pushing. Fiyero had to catch her AGAIN. Thankfully she woke up before the birth of their daughter.

Glinda may have said she wanted to carry the next one when she saw Elphaba holding/staring lovingly at the little light green skinned girl with blonde hair, deep chocolate eyes, Elphaba’s nose and freckles. Elphaba wasn’t too concerned about another one right away when she first said it…. Considering she had just given birth to this one like 10 minutes prior…. But if she had thought a few months later about Glinda pregnant with either her or Fiyero’s baby…. Well that would be something she might be willing to bring up again.

Gonna add a little bit of NSFW to the end of this because I can’t NOT do it. Am I little screwy in the head for it? Maybe. Do I care? Nope.

So after Glinda recovers from her fainting incident at the pregnancy test they celebrated later that night in a… Not so family friendly way…. We’re not even gonna attempt to count the number of times Elphaba came that night between her wife and husband’s ministrations

Elphaba and Fiyero had been using protection to ensure that she didn’t get pregnant by him (if Liir already exists then again) while she and Glinda were trying for a baby. Because the process took several months she went several months without him being able to fill her the way she wanted. So once she was definitely pregnant and it was safe to do so again having him come inside her made her so happy

Pregnancy hormones make Elphaba almost insatiable sometimes. This is one of those moments that having 2 partners able and willing to be jumped by her at random moments at all hours of the day is nice because at least one of them is almost always available to give her what she wants

As she gets further along in the pregnancy and moving in general becomes harder for her she becomes a little bit more of a pillow princess, less because she wants to, and more out of necessity if they want to keep doing things because she literally cannot go from laying to sitting up by herself without assistance sometimes.

Towards the end of the pregnancy Elphaba becomes insistent on wearing as minimal clothes as possible (for some reason I headcanon she gave birth during the summer so it was very warm in the final weeks of her pregnancy) because she was always hot and because it was hard to get clothes on and off working with her very round belly. It did make it very convenient to seduce her spouses though

okay as an admitted did-not-watch-NTTD'er who got, like, all of their info from uhh recappers, the wiki synopsis, the specific clips with Q I watched, and whatever I osmosis'ed from fics.

I finally watched the beginning of NTTD at @prismatic-bell's nudging. And I was like. Okay wait. wait wait wait. This is... well-written? And shot and directed & acted?? In a hollywood movie lmao?? Like. The way it's set up w Madeleine's backstory, and then the Bond & Madeleine stuff that does a much better job of establishing their relationship, the goooorgeous wide shots.

I admittedly was rather "I close my eyes I do not see" to a lot of canon - coming from partially a comics fandom background I'm very aware, well-versed, and well-practiced in the 'canon is your pick-and-choose buffet no need to feel like you have to 'respect' the 'sanctity' of 'canon' esp when it's Bad (like it contradicts other canon or you can just Tell this character was Not Written Well and it's like, here's what it could be that is better)' - and from opinions I saw on NTTD I was expecting to be very pick & choose about it.

But okay, wait. wait wait wait. It works. The beginning at least which I watched. Works. Like, it establishes a key character moment for Madeleine that Explains Everything about her behavior, actually - like she just like Bond is actually also very traumatized & has been locking it down/deflecting it vs processing it, and the whole like Vesper thing is (to me) very obviously her misdirecting Bond away from her own Goin Thru It. I can see how it can read as very suspicious to Bond esp with everything else but it, like, is a Narrative and Makes Sense for her character and Works. wild.

Even the Bond stuff makes a ton of sense. Like, when I hadn't watched it and was going off second & third hand information, one of the things I was hrrrm ?? about was the. How do you get from the guy who says "I miss you" at Vesper's grave, to the guy who put Madeleine on the train. The man who, even after finding out Vesper betrayed him, still wanted to save her? Would... send Madeleine away? In what, a fit of pique? Surely he's more of a "run to me and I will handle it" if it turns out not to be true or a "if it is, I'll handle it" kind of guy.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT IT WAS. YOU KNOW WHAT IT FUCKING WAS LMAO. I WAS MISLED BY THE FUCKIN. BILLIE EILISH SONG LMAO. The lyrics of it make it SOUND like it's a like "you betrayed/cheated on me how could I have ever trusted you" break-up song kind of situation. BUT IT ABSOLUTELY FCKN WASN'T LMAO.

It's like. two traumatized individuals who trauma-bonded and honestly maybe should have spent time apart healing/learning themselves again before re-evaluating if they think a relationship could work, but like. they both were Goin Thru It and let themselves get carried away with it ig. And then right when Madeleine was like. hm I've been Not Dealing with this a Lot (tbh her being a psychologist probably made it worse cuz I think it made her more effective at Not Dealing With It and deflecting/misdirecting, but like. I don't think she was doing it intentionally, I think it was just a "combination of circumstances" thing. But this also works cuz I think before the like why did Madeleine push him towards Vesper again even though he said she was in his past. And it's like. She was delaying dealing with HER shit and probably unconsciously deflected his attention by poking at waht she thinks is still HIS equivalent to her baggage) where was I. Oh yeah, Madeleine is like. hm. yeah. the whole letting go of secrets thing. I. need to come clean to him...

but then all of the Spectre stuff happens.

Even the him sitting in the car thing is soooo so so. Cuz Craig absolutely put his whole pussy in the acting for this scene. he's got that like. wrong side of overstimulated so you shoot past being in the zone and instead are zoning out lowkey thing going on, mixed with the like. agent faced with a hopeless situation Observing Everything still but like vaguely morbidly amused about it, probably what's running through the brain rn is "lmao, wonder which bullet will be The One" kind of deal. And cross-cutting the shooting & wide shots with the bells was *chefs kiss* genius.

Even Madeleine not managing to tell him was well written/paced. Cuz it was very believable that she (not trained for this) was scared/shocked & couldn't get a word out. Until the "JAMES. I'd rather die than have you think I--" and then the fucking. tragedy of the bad timing. god. And then even her not just saying it later is like, it all makes sense with the way it was paced, shot, & edited. It was beaaautiful oh man. This also where I was like. damn lmao. miscommunication in a movie where it. feels like it makes sense and isn't just a stupid macguffin lol??? In a hollywood movie?? wild

but yeah this is also where it was like. hey wait. the man who, in the face of sort of a morbid (passively?) suicidal emotional blowout due to the Everything, but was able to break through it when she got through to him enough for him to look at her, and her to cry & shake her head like no, it's not true/no don't do this/please/(w.e). and go, "Okay." and take action. How does he put her on the train??

BUT. BUT FUCKING. BUT THEN. MY GOD. *Actually* watching the fucking scene I was like. Ooooh. ough ough oh god. This isn't him vindicatively cutting her out of his life "the bitch is dead" style. This is his Vesper in the elevator cage moment. He's fucking drowning in the cage but he doesn't want to take her with him. He's locking her out of the cage. god.

That's it. Hawks had enough with the whole “fake dating” they were putting on. His eyes always lingered just a bit too long, his brain would think about you longer than it should have, his heart would race as he saw you. He was done with faking it. He needed to make sure you knew his feelings were genuine rather than a façade put on by his managers.  

It was another hero get together. One that was held at a rather nice bar and dance for chit-chat, catching up and the like for some hero's to finally catch a break. Keigo waited for the right moment; when nobody was around to bother them. He watched you from a short distance. His heart was thumping against his ribcage. He took a deep breath in an attempt to steady his nerves. Walking over to you, the winged hero made sure to have his signature easy-going smile plastered on his face. 

“Hey, can I talk to you for a sec?” 

“Hm? Oh, sure” You glance back at him, nodding curtly before excusing yourself away from the other talkative heroes. He waited for you, feeling his heart race even faster. God, I can’t believe I’m actually doing this. What if they reject me? Keigo gave you a friendly, charming smile. “Follow me over here real fast. I wanna talk to ya in private.” 

He sighed once you walked into a more secluded hall, no one around to hear or disturb you. Keigo was quiet for a moment, his heart still thumping hard against his chest. He knew it was now or never. “Listen, we need to talk. About us.” 

“Oh, okay...? What's up?” your heart thumped nervously, thoughts of what ifs and what happened running through your mind in the deafening silence.  He let out a shallow sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. He was obviously nervous; he was normally calm, cool and collected but this situation was uncomfortably different. "Well, you know the whole “fake dating” thing, right?” 

You give him a quick nod, curiousness written throughout your expression. He nodded, biting the inside of his cheek. Alright, here we go. He tried to calm his nerves before speaking. “I need to be honest about something with you.” 

He let out a sharp exhale through his nose, trying to gain the courage to just say it. “These feelings I’ve started to have for you, for us, aren't fake anymore.” He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat.   

Your jaw went slack, the info hitting you like a bus. The Hawks had a big ‘ol schoolboy crush on you?! He stood there and waited for you to process the information; his heart was almost leaping out of his chest. Oh no, I ruined everything with my dumbass feelings. 

“I know a while ago we decided to fake our relationship” he scratched the underside of his jaw. “And at first it was just for show but, the more we hung out and were out together, the more I realized that I had caught genuine feelings for you.” 

You blink a couple times, chuckling nervously “Sorry I think I'm dreaming, could you pinch me- I've gotta be dreaming..” 

He let out a sharp scoff, a small smirk tugging at one corner of his face. He raised a gloved hand, pinching your arm “Nope, not dreaming.”  

A sharp pain went through where he pinched. You instinctively reach up, “Ow, okay yeah, real” you rub the spot before meeting his eyes once more “Holy shit, you're for real.” 

He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck once more as his smirk disappeared to make room for his nervous expression. “Yeah, I’m for real. This isn’t a prank or a joke. I actually… have feelings for you.” He swallowed thickly, his heart racing. Keigo felt his stomach twist with anxious butterflies, though he wasn't sure if he liked them or not. He cleared his throat. “And I understand if you don’t feel the same-” 

“No- no! Sorry, processing it all is just a lot!” You interrupt him before taking his fidgety hands into your own. “I-i like you too Keigo” 

His eyes widened at your words, his heart doing a summersault. The winged hero’s heart was pounding away in his chest. He stared down at your hands holding his own until he looked back up. “Really?” He wanted to make sure he heard you right. “You like me too?” 

“I do, I guess your acting just fooled me enough to the point where I couldn't tell what was real or not” you chuckle nervously, wanting to soften the blow of the whole interaction. 

He gripped your hand softly, his heart still thumping away. “Well, I’m pretty damn good at acting when I need to be.” His signature smirk made its way back onto his rose-tinted cheeks. 

"How about we get back to the party before the press shows up? And then maybe we can talk about this,” you motion between yourselves “more afterwards”. 

He returned the smile, "Sounds like a plan.” He gave your hand a soft, gentle squeeze before dropping them and taking a step back. “We better get going then, before the vultures show up and ruin the night.” 

With a moment to collect your consciousnesses, the two of you walked back into the gathering, Keigo trying to act as normal as possible even though he was practically bursting with excitement on the inside. As you glance over to him, finally stealing your racing heart, he sends you a wink, tugging a smirk along his lips before getting pulled into conversation among the notable heroes. This man was going to be the death of you.

Daniel did lose it for a moment but now it’s back and it’s back for good. Which I think is the point of the final exchange.

I don’t see any remorse or regret.

Again, I see a watchful eye. I don’t think Daniel needs to justify anything to himself. He’s not battling Silver or himself anymore, he has found his peace, and so has Samantha.

I don’t see Daniel as coming back for more but coming back for a final stand — by the final episode, Silver wasn’t present and he didn’t give him a single thought. That at first seemed like writers fumble but now I think it’s a (badly written) attempt to show him having moved on.

There really isn’t a festering wound anymore. Daniel is healed. Terry is the one that can’t let things go.

Where as Daniel has never cared about why Terry is doing what he’s doing — it’s canon.

You have him immediately rejecting Terry’s apology and telling him to get off his property. He isn’t interested in apologies or explanations — he doesn’t need them.

When Terry tries to tell him it’s not about the Valley in Stingray’s apartments and he’s about to reveal why he’s doing all this? Daniel stops him right there and tells him “well, leave me out of it.” i.e. I don’t care.

And when Terry tries to give him the info on Mr. Miyagi, it’s not enough, he flat out says “I don’t want your gifts.”

And clearly he doesn’t believe anything Terry says — smart.

He wants to know his angle, yes, but in the end he doesn’t care about the why.

Never did. And that’s canon.

Now as for Daniel’s reaction to Terry’s raw honesty (which Terry still played as angle and Daniel picked up on that), I think it has more to do with the fact that this man who is crying to Daniel about having no wife/kids/real home, the very man who tried to take all those things from him — more than once (like, really bitch?)… Daniel has no sympathy for a man who’s lived his entire life akin to a kingpin and who made his own bed… and that isn’t cruelty. He simply owes Terry nothing.

And he’s not losing any sleep over it.

Daniel meant it when he said has no sympathy. When he looks at Terry walking away, it’s not with sympathy but pity.

It’s not necessarily a hollow victory - he’s just done.

Daniel is done letting him get to him. That’s why “it doesn’t hurt at all.”

Because even though Terry is kinda right about the CK thing, he twists things. And Daniel sees right through it.

When Amanda tells him “he’s just trying to get under your skin,” as annoyed as he looks he assures her — he knows. He knows his tactics. He’s not falling for it.

He’s not the hothead anymore.

In fact he outsmarted Terry — “I’ll wrap Cobra Kai gis around your kids.”

And Daniel turned right around “not if I do it first motherfucker. In fact, I’m putting on my own CK gi.”

And if Terry hadn’t been an evil dumb motherfucker he coulda been the one to see it live. But oh well.

There is an irony — Terry wanted so bad to convince Daniel to put on a Cobra Kai gi and he does it for Johnny 😂. That’s gotta hurt.

We were robbed of many things. The whole boat show shoulda happened AFTER the tournament. But CK writers can’t be counted on for anything.

You know damn well Amanda whispered to him to keep the Gi on and take her home… I would’ve.

Why is no one talking about the size difference in this scene 🤩

Terry totally eclipses Daniel when he walks past - you can’t even see him 😭

Also, there is something about Daniel’s expression as he watches Terry leave.

It’s like the smile fades and his victory of winning that verbal sparring match (although Terry had a point) was hollow. He is clearly not as happy as he was seconds before - like it wasn’t as satisfying as it should have been.

Not quite pity, not quite sad, but that look it is hard to describe.

I think this is one of my favorite lines from the Wraith route because of (imo) how much the meaning changes depending on if you got there via Spectre or Nightmare. For Spectre, it honestly strikes me as a genuine question. Why are you doing this to her? If you're on the Spectre route, you presumably already know the Narrator can't really be trusted, since you had to reject his reward to get here. What are you hoping to gain from continuing to hurt her? For Nightmare, it honestly just makes me sad. As the Shifting Mound describes her, "She desires only companionship, but the only thing she knows is how to hurt." This line feels like a plea from someone who genuinely doesn't understand why you keep rejecting her. She wants to be with you, but she just can't understand how to do that in a way which doesn't hurt you.

Interesting discussion, let me weigh in on the position of the Royal/Castle gardens. BTW @virtual-winter I'm still very much into castle locations even though it's 2025! (as you can tell from the length of this post you're about to read) ask me anything!

@virtual-winter I agree with you that if we accept that there is a willow tree (that animators forgot to animate) on the South (BTW @frozen-snowflakesandsunflowers it's the south not the west side, the "front" of the castle is East so to the immediate "left" would be the south) ie the garden is on the South side, this would be consistent with many things. Like you said, in zoomed out shots of the South castle, we can see the door to the garden, we can see the slanted roofs and the round pillar as seen in the close up shot from FTFTIF. For the zoomed out shot of the East side of the castle, we cannot see the door, we do not see the slanted roofs and we do not see the round pillar.

To add on, in Dangerous secrets, Agnarr and Iduna kissed and made out (hidden) in a tree. in my previous analysis below, I tried to figure out the tree's location.

I could not come to a conclusion because of lack of specific info in the book. Top 2 contenders were a) the willow tree on the East castle. But it was problematic because it was too exposed - difficult for agnarr to walk through the whole courtyard to get to that tree without being seen + the young king could have been easily seen from the bridge or even assassinated 😱 b) a tree at the South side. In my analysis, this garden was more secluded and closer to the castle, making it easier for the young king to slip out and smooch. Also, if we think that this tree shown in Ahtohallan is the kissing tree:

...it is not a willow. So far so good, we have a lot of evidence to say that the castle garden is on the South side, if we just accept that the animators and set designers forgot to put in a willow tree in the zoomed out shots of the South castle.

The problem I have with this line of argument is, there are an overwhelming number of movie shots and production design pictures (eg: the art of Frozen, individual artists' blogs/insta) which consistently and repeatedly depict a willow tree on the East side of the garden, and simultaneously do NOT ever show a willow tree on the South side. The willow seems to be very special, there is only one of it and it is beautifully decorated and lit in Some Things Never Change in the background as Elsa and Anna walk across the bridge into the castle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no picture/scene that ever shows the east side without a willow, nor is there ever a picture/scene that shows a willow in the south. Just to add, this is a picture of the South from The Official Movie Special book (originally posted by @bigfrozenfan), showing no willow.

Also to add from the book All Around Arendelle, just to drive home the point that there is a willow in the royal gardens (posted by someone who has left Tumblr)

So, in conclusion, I personally cannot 100% agree that the royal garden is in the south. But I definitely take your point about the door, the slanted roof and the round pillar! It's nice to hear fresh perspectives after so many years! I guess it all boils down to which continuity error we are willing to accept - the lack of a willow in the south, or, the lack of a door, slanted roof and round pillar in the east. I personally cannot accept that there's supposed to be a willow in the south but everyone forgot to draw it or animate it, also because the willow is consistently present in the east. Agree to disagree ❤️ to me the royal garden has to be in the east, but it has its own set of problems being there!

Frozen Arendelle Castle Rooms Location Breakdown Posts Update!

Mapped out location of The Garden made by me used in my final part of the room location breakdowns

Just wanted to update you that I have now updated two of my room breakdown posts, part 4 and part 9/ the final part.

With reblogs me, @lovewillthaw-j and @virtual-winter were discussing the Royal/ Secret Garden location. When @virtual-winter hopped on to our discussion, he helped me realise that the Garden is not in the top right corner (from the front view of the castle) but rather the left/ west side of the castle. Frozen 1 doesn't show the garden well from afar. There's a specific Willow tree in the garden but also at the front. The front however has no entrance to the garden. No door that can be seen and doesn't even have the slanted roofs. But in Frozen 2, we can see the garden from afar and this time in bright autumn colours. So I made the conclusion that it's actually in the west/ left side of that castle. That area does also have the slanted roofs that can be seen in the Fro the First Time In Forever scene.

This may seem confusing but it all fits together in the post linked as Part 4 and 9, with each room annotated to their part in the exterior of the castle.

It's just such a pain when you find out that you've got it all wrong again 😭. The continuity errors are no help. But thankfully it didn't take me too long to update it. So now I hope all my close-to-accurate guesses on these locations are right. And I'm super excited to continue this series of Arendelle Castle Rooms when Frozen 3 and 4 come out (if we see new rooms that is)! ❄️

So I went to the wiki page for the henghill Bullet & Brain mission of 2.2 looking for some dialogue I had missed and

a) I found something incredibly tasty that slotted into some other thoughts I'd been having, more on that on another day, and

b) I saw this super fun little trivia at the bottom, which!

I knew Penacony characters like Boothill took a lot of inspirations from old movies, but I didn't realize it was even in his and Dan Heng's relationship, that's so cool!!

It fits them very well, it's such a fun reference. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was an old buddy Western film (from 1969- nice) about a pair of outlaws. Butch Cassidy was the leader of a gang, and described as clever, affable, and talkative. Meanwhile, his closest companion, the Sundance Kid, was known as a man of few words.

Cassidy's original birth name was much more plain, but similar to Boothill, he took on a new moniker when he became an outlaw. "Cassidy" had been the last name of his beloved mentor, who taught him how to shoot and ride. And Sundance Kid was known as he was because Sundance was the name of his hometown, and it was the only place that had ever managed to catch and jail him, back when he'd been younger (also similar to Dan Heng, but ouch).

These two stick together like glue throughout the length of the film- through Cassidy's leadership of the gang being challenged, through a train robbery gone wrong, through being pursued by mercenaries, and even through fleeing to Bolivia and trying to start over together.

I don't want to say too much more, since the mission title is referencing one specific movie that I've never seen. I kinda wanna watch it now, though, just to see the inspiration that went into Boothill and Dan Heng and how they get along. I just think it's really sweet that these two were literally made to be the best of bros, how lovely is that. 💕
