âïž - Do y'all make coffee or tea? What do they put in their coffee/tea?
I'm not a fan of either, but Holly drinks the occasional coffee in the mornings! When she has it, she puts a fair bit of sugar in it!
ð - Do you have a routine? What is it?
It's not a hard-and-fast routine, but I generally get up early in the morning to make breakfast and do the morning care of our monsters! She'll get up about an hour later, and come out to help me finish up breakfast prep/monster care. Then we go about I day from there!

My favorite detail about Jurassic Park is that it has a baked-in justification for any and all retcons it might need to make due to paleontology advancing forwards.
Because there is not a single dinosaur that has ever appeared in Jurassic Park.
Not one. Not in the books. Not in the movies. Not ever.
"Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park was to create genetically engineered theme park monsters." ~Alan Grant
Grant says that in a moment of cynicism. It's part of his arc for the film. But it's not inaccurate. What Jurassic Park has, what it's always had since the very first novel, are "Mostly Dinosaurs".
"And since the DNA is so old, it's full of holes! Now, that's where our geneticists take over!" ~Mr. DNA
It's impossible to recover a fully intact gene sequence from an ancient amber mosquito. Cloning a pure dinosaur would have been completely impossible, and so the park filled in the gene sequence with whatever works. Frog. Lizard. Bird. Whatever they need to get the result they are trying to get.
Every single dinosaur is a chimeric beast made up of mostly dinosaur and a bunch of other stuff that some scientists thought would achieve the appropriate dinosaur-like result.
"Nothing in Jurassic World is natural! We have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And if the genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different." ~Dr. Henry Wu
Which, from a writing perspective, is fucking genius. Because now you have a preset excuse for each and every plot hole your movie has.
Like. Why don't the raptors have feathers? Because of the chimera DNA.
Why do dilophosaurs spit venom? Because of the chimera DNA.
Why do T-Rexes have movement based vision? Oh, they don't. But Rexy does. Because of her chimera DNA.
Why is the Spinosaurus so fucking big? Because of the chimera DNA.
Why are the velociraptors mislabeled? Because Hammond's a dipshit.
Like. I've always marveled at the way Jurassic Park started out by giving itself a blanket excuse to be wrong about every single thing it ever said about the central attraction of its franchise. It's honestly beautiful, and allows the series a degree of immortality well into the era where we know better about its animals.

notes: its still like basically hot out where i live so i write this to cope,, enjoy!!
"babe, c'mere!" your boyfriend calls for you from the living room.
"coming!" you yell back.
you have to use all of your willpower to leave the bed. you had been wrapped in layers and layers of blankets to keep you nice and cozy, your apartment running cold. as you make your way down the hall, you hear the faint sounds of dejun's laughter bouncing off the walls and the click of his phone's camera. you can only imagine what's so amusing to him.
the second you turn the corner you come face to face with a very angry looking bella.
"what did you do to my sweet girl?!" you breathe out in disbelief
bella is all dressed up in an elf costume that dejun got from god knows where, and she clearly hates him for it. he's still trying to get pictures of her, and bella makes a point to look everywhere but into the camera.
"i didn't do anything but make her look festive!" he defends with the hints of a smile still on his face.
"is this really what you made me get out of bed for? i swear jun if she doesn't want to come to bed tonight im blaming it on you."
"cmon, she looks so cute as santa's little helper! look!"
bella looks beyond irritated, her resting-bitch-face rivaling that of the meanest person you can think of. but you have to admit she still looks adorable, seething and all.
"she does not look happy enough to be on good terms with santa." you fight down a smile as you look at your poor, cute dog.
"oh what. ever. just let me get a picture of you two so i can make it my wallpaper." he ushers you over to the couch.
as you sit down, you pick up bella and put her onto your lap, whispering sorrys and i love yous to try and make these last few minutes of torture a little more bearable.
"after this, that thing is getting burned" you tell him, dead serious.
"whatever you want, my love, smile for me real quick though please."
you let dejun take as many pictures as he wants before immediately freeing bella from her elf prison and giving her many treats to mend her misery. she immediately begins to smile again after getting her food, and that's when the zoomies start.
dejun cuddles up to you on the couch as your shared giggles at bella's energy ripple throughout your apartment. her barks harmonize terribly with your laughter, but it's the sound of love, so it sounds beautiful all the same.
eventually bella comes down from her high, and you all decide to end the night cuddled up on the couch together watching christmas movies. bella lays between the two of you, effectively sandwiching herself, while dejun has one hand intertwined with yours, thumb brushing back and forth, as the other pets bella. the hum of the tv makes it's way into the back of your mind as you think about how grateful you are that this is how you get to spend your holidays.
the sound of your boyfriend's voice breaks your train of thought, "what're you thinking about, love?"
"how stupid you are for thinking bella'd be happy about the costume,"
he gasps at your admission oh so dramatically.
"and about how much i love you."
