Here we have the ask blog’s bait character to lure people in, an obvious self insert of the mod’s kinsona being repurposed, 3 OC Characters that are surely not forced in, and the machine that’s only there because of the mod feeling the need to add their selfship desires into the plot. Although! I also enjoy him learning to navigate the world beyond what he can access via internet/social protocols and stumbling a little along the way. He’s aware of how the world works on an intellectual level, but actually having to experience life — going through the motions of surviving, of feeling emotions, of actually connecting with others on a deeper level beyond “pick an option from this algorithmically optimized list”, requires more nuance and forces him to show more vulnerability in order to learn and grow and connect. So I can imagine him being caught off guard, or having his intentions misread, or picking the wrong course of action, and feeling (at best) a little abashed and (at worst) mortified/guilty sometimes as a result. He’s confident and smart and adaptable, but nobody’s perfect, and I think he’s generally pretty hard on himself if his reactions to his failures in-game are any indication.

I still like to imagine him as more of an “ends justify the means” type of person, though. Imo he wouldn’t be above using deceit and manipulation to get what he wants even after deviating, but he’s also developing his own code of ethics separate from CyberLife’s that dictate when and how and to what extent he should use those tactics, and whether the consequences to his interpersonal relationships will be worth it.

Machine Connor on the other hand? He knows exactly what he’s doing and he’s here to wreck your shit 😌✨

Literally the closest thing to canon (among all the other mugiwara ships). They are very close? And naturally comfortable with casual touch between each other. Like frank carrying robin (in various ways) plenty of times throughout the entire series, or robin letting franky to sleep on her lap... and let's not talk about all the op color spreads or op movies with all of the frobin crumbs (franky holding her whole body, robin touching franky's face, et cetera) also god... sometimes i really want to dissect frobin in thriller bark (or frobin throughout the whole op) all the subtle/micro interactions, and like the iconic "it is never a crime to exist!" line?? I have so much to say about them, but the most important thing is they are very dear to me!!

(Drops art i havent shared and wasnt really planning to. But its appropriate for the things ill talk about yay)

Fun fact i didn’t really have a strong opinion of bots character for a while but then one day i woke up and went “I have an idea for a gjinka” and it caused me to get into their character and now its like my fav gjinka to draw

(Some fun facts about that gjinka design: their head is completely magnetic, and their “hair” is a set of completely removable accessories so their natural state is bald, they can add as much or as little as they want. Also they continue to wear a little pink because i was thinking of the “I can still like chocolate cake” line- they can still like pink too)

I LOVE BOT. Even though i have thoughts and opinions about the iffy nature they were implemented overall i love the concept of a character who was made to be someone else and theyve given me a lot to chew on which i appreciate with a character. What really fascinates me about them is how their interactions with other characters play out so id like to talk more about that⬇️

Their relationship with Cabby was what caused me to create the gjinka design in the first place, and then I found a song that made me think of them and i was like Wow. Bot and cabby’s initial impressions of one another being somewhat at odds due to miscommunication but ultimately other factors (cabby’s disability and bot’s suppression of their fake memory- wow they both have memory issues!) was something that lasted a while but then iii14 saw the end of bot’s assumptions of her being strained when they finally had the chance to actually talk with one another. Bot assumed that Cabby was obsessed with finding a way to explain their existence and identity which they very much felt didn’t need an explanation for who they were, but they realized this is only the way cabby processes the world around her they both place importance on identity both with not knowing their pasts and carving a way for their futures the way they are and they can do it together agh i love ittt

One day i kind of started placing suitcase in bots position to cabby though and i just think about their potential relationship primarily now though LMAO but thats unrelated

With fan and test tube I had stronger opinions about how the circumstances/reasons behind creating them weren’t strong enough and it caused both of their characters to backslide from where they were in ii14 but now i like to look at it and take what i can get from it because i like it when characters do bad and questionable things its interesting to analyze why they did something so selfish. In fan’s case he didnt have a strong connection with bow’s death when it happened beyond being a fan of her bc of his low empathy at the time especially he didnt process it as Death, and he believes he knows everything about bow as the number1 fan so now hes the best person for the job, and test tube coldly decides to recreate the image of a person under the idea shes now using her strengths for a good cause, but shes wrong and she has to learn shes wrong. Theyre not bot’s parents- but it’s easiest for them to describe them that way, since they created them, but that’s not quite how their relationship is at all. Bot has no real familial ties with them, and test tube created them with the sold intention of being somebody other than they are, so that’s always going to stick with them and theyre not just a blindly happy family now. Bot is also a grown adult that doesnt just go away they shouldn’t be infantilized so much. They can be friends with fan and test tube because they now recognize them as Bot but honestly theyd prefer keeping a distance when they can because they wish they were made intentionally or were just a person, but they appreciate being created. Its a pretty unique situation

What really fascinates me the most though is the concepts of how they are in relation to Bow, with the concept of being created as a replication of someone who already exists being so terrifying for both involved. In Bot’s perspective, their conscious is being repressed intentionally to continue living someone else’s life who they never even knew and doesnt identify with. And everyone is acting like its fine and okay when theyre the only one who seems to see how scary this is. They just struggle to grasp with their very existence with the only thing to guide them being a paragraph of a character description and to spew references that dont make sense. In BOWS perspective, she was a celebrity and the most popular contestant in the first season of a reality show, and even after dying on it the fans just screamed for her to “come back” though it was impossible. So her likeness kept getting replicated by both the show (doughs inclusion) and fans (bots creation) who both misrepresented her and she could do nothing but watch it play out. Her death was being denied and other people were living her life just because she was popular on a show, it’s terrifying. Terrifying and despair inducing for both of them theyd both have a disdain for one another on an existential degree, and bot finding their identity is freeing for both of them.

Context for the two stories I post on here:

GIANT ROBOT [Title redacted]

This is a story with size elements in it- namely, Noor becomes a giant robot. I will keep the details intentionally vague because I plan on making it into a graphic novel (the illustrated edition is currently 115 pages). The goal is to take an excerpt of this story and make it into an animated short film, as soon as I get grant funding!

I will only post storyboards and concept art that didn’t make the cut ✂️🎞️ best stuff goes into the finished piece.

aaaand THE MERMAID AU [No title]

This stars the same characters!! This is a little alternate universe of the two protagonists in the sci-fi graphic novel, but allows me to write free of concerns like plot and narrative structure. Just a giant mermaid who wants to dance (Olympe du Poisson) and the cross dressing Filipino dancer who wants to study the stars (Ben Gagarine) in 1870s Southern France.

I’ll answer any questions about the MERMAID AU but I will probably dance around any questions about THE ROBOT 🤖

🤖: I am an anti-shadow suppression weapon, and we will answer all your questions. However, Ikutsuki-san...

🤓: Hmm? What is it, Aigis?

🤖: I believed you fell from the observatory and died.

🤓: Don't be rude, Aigis. This me is a commentator character for the Q&A, not the me in the main story. So anything can happen if I comes back to life, and my personality is a little different. I hope you don't worry too much about that.

🤖: Ah, our personalities are different... so, please stop making puns.

🤓: (Says a pun)

🤖: Ah.

🤓: Ah, Aigis...she wasn't the type of girl to click her tongue like that...

🤖: Ah, enough with the nonsense, let's get started. Otherwise, this 5-barreled Medusa will start breathing fire.

Well, let's ask a question!

Q: So, what is Nyx's true identity?

🤓: To explain, we must first tell a story. In the distant past, there was a gigantic, celestial-sized lifeform that was floating dormant in space. This lifeform, also known as the "star eater," one day crashed into Earth, where life had just begun to emerge. The probability of this happening must have been one in hundreds of millions, or even trillions. This was the first contact between life on Earth and Nyx.

🤖: Was Nyx born in space? How is it possible that the Earth would not have collapsed in that state?

🤓: The matter that makes up Nyx exists under different laws from the physical laws of Earth. However, the impact of the collision was still intense. The shock caused the pieces of the broken Earth to become the Moon, and Nyx's vibrational spirit resided on Earth, while her physical body resided on the Moon. The problem was with the spirit. The vibrations emitted by Nyx's spirit were enough to negate all life on Earth and nullify it. Naturally, the creatures on Earth, who instinctively desire life even though they were primitive, resisted the vibrations of death. As a result, the creatures on Earth evolved explosively and acquired weapons to fight against Nyx. This was the shared information domain of all life on Earth, commonly known in psychological terms as the "collective unconscious."

🤖: But... why would it be a weapon? Was it defeated by some kind of supernatural power?

🤓: No, no. Life on Earth had sealed the spirit of Nyx within its collective unconscious. The driving force behind this suppression is the power of "repression'' that comes from the fear of not wanting to die or being afraid of dying. There's no irony in the fact that life on Earth has evolved to the point where it has a complex mental structure thanks to Nyx, who is supposed to be the embodiment of death. People may have subconsciously known the truth based on the fact that Nyx in Greek mythology is depicted as a goddess, and in a sense, she is the mother of life.

🤖: It is very profound.

🤓: Come to think of it, it's also thanks to Nyx that I can make cool puns...

🤖: I will never forgive Nyx.

🤓: That's terrible, Aigis... But that aside, as long as living beings, especially humans with strong and complex mental structures, fear death, Nyx was meant to remain subconsciously sealed away. In the main story, it was a shame...oh, just when she was close to being revived to a dangerous point, she was resealed by the power of the Universe that the leader had obtained. Truly, it's a shame.

🤖: He's a man who never learns his lesson, even in death. By the way, what happened to Nyx's body?

🤓: After it merged with the moon, its body, which was damaged in the collision, continued to automatically repair itself. By the time of the main story, the repairs were probably almost complete. However, since it was just an empty shell, it was simply waiting idly until its mind was released from the seal. During the battle with the Nyx Avatar, she was called down to Earth. After she was resealed, she became a quiet moon again.

Q: What exactly was the end of the world that Nyx brought about?

🤖: What was it?

🤓: As I said before, Nyx's spirit, which had been sealed in the subconscious, will be released from its restraints and become free. Furthermore, it will re-fuse with its body, which has become the moon, and regain its true form. This will be the destruction and end of the Earth. In fact, this destruction has come close to happening many times in the history of Earth.

🤖: Is that so?

🤓: For example, when a major war breaks out or an epidemic spreads, apocalyptic thoughts begin to take root among people. People start to hate living. When this happens, the power that holds back Nyx, in other words the fear of death, weakens, and Nyx's release, or the end of the world, approaches. The "prophecies" that I mentioned in the main story are books that describe the end of various eras, and using them as a hint, I found a way to free Nyx. Amazing, right?

🤖: It's amazing, but it's no good.

🤓: (Sob, sob)

Q. Why are only some machines, like Mitsuru's bike and Aigis, able to move during the Dark Hour when time has stopped?

🤓: A certain mysterious substance plays a major role in this, a substance that does not actually exist on Earth: Plumes of Dusk.

i don't know if it's exactly "normal" but i have seen a lot of people (myself included) experience similar things. it could be similar to how schizo-spec people or neurodivergent people in general tend to mask their real selves, and pick up on the reactions and mannerisms of others to build said mask. ive also seen a lot of people (also myself included) experience delusions around characters they like a ton, where they become unhealthily attached, thinking they actually know said character personally or are said character. i hope that answers your question!!
