Slightly delayed post compared to usual, but hi hello and happy Spring, everyone! I hope the past month has treated you well, because the first Saturday of a new month is coming up real fast, meaning it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, [VS] Verdant Shield!

For those who aren’t familiar with art parties, they’re a concept carried over from Final Fantasy XIV - in-game get-togethers for artists/writers/creatives of all types to hang out, chat, and create together! Get your favorite character/look together, head to the location, find someone that catches your eye, and create! Afterwards, everyone posts their creations in a shared tag (ours is #VSArtParty) so others can see, interact, and share! Tl;dr: the ‘goal’ of an art party isn’t to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!

Time and /squadjoin information is under the cut, but will also be posted again via reblogs as the squads go up on the day of the party!

Location Information:

While scouting out more Ascalon-aligned locations to even out the spread, I remembered this little corner of Fields of Ruin. It houses a grave of one of the characters from the Ghosts of Ascalon novel - and for trivia purposes, everyone who's done Icebrood Saga has met another character from that novel: Ember Doomforge! But this isn't about Ember, it's about Killeen, and her lovely little resting place protected from the Brand. It's very easily accessible just by scooting up the marked path from Tenaebron Waypoint, which is in itself up in the Northwest corner of Fields of Ruin!

Time & Squad Details:

As we always do, we’ll be having two parties - one on EU servers and one on NA ones - with an hour break in between. People tend to arrive early and/or jump between accounts as soon as the break comes up, so don’t be surprised to see tags and announcements going up ahead of schedule!

The first party will be on EU servers and begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting on my EU alt account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Ashelin Falstaff for an invite.

The second party will be on NA servers and begin at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or an hour before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting this one on my main account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Beldahvia for an invite.

Welcome to the Rotomblr blog for The Midsommar Sanctuary. We have created this blog in order to make appropriate updates and notices in an easier, more effective format. However, we will also be making informative posts. Feel free to reach out via the “Ask Here” button at the top of the page for any questions you would like answered.

The sanctuary’s mission is to help Pokémon thrive, expand conservation efforts, and teach others about Pokémon and their importance to our world & history. We do this with our Pokémon helpers, having conservation areas, rooms to learn about their biology and history, and our greenhouses. We also help with Galar-wide Pokémon emergencies, our Founder & Owner and Battle Professor always on-call to help the rangers.

We have multiple exhibits, including:

The Valley Exhibit

aka the main exhibit! this conservatory hosts a very wide variety of pokémon, and has information on every pokémon you can find (that doesn’t fit within the specified exhibits). definitely our most popular one for a reason.

The Bug Exhibit

the home to bug types and their cute lil quirks! a brilliant place to learn about them, and watch them in an exhibit that mimics their natural habitat. it’s specially dedicated to their studies, needs and wants - and a great place for those who may be scared of bug pokémon, as it provides a safe and contained environment to watch them.

The Aquarium Exhibit

for our beautiful water dwellers! an amazing place to learn about our sea friends, and pride ourselves in their amazing exhibit and care. there are tanks with our friendlier pokémon around to pat and interact with, including kid-safe ones!

The Fossil Exhibit

the home to a wide variety of fossil specimens, within rooms meant to replicate the rugged dirt they were found in. for those who enjoy the ancient side of things, or just want a break from the pokémon-filled sections. although we do have a fossil conservatory, for the fossils we saved from the liss incident — and are given the best care we can possibly give them.

The Hisui Exhibit

the most recent addition, and the sanctuary’s biggest pride and joy! with the report of more hisuian pokémon being unfortunately dumped due to their tough care needs, we thought it was best to give them a safe place to be themselves and to get the care they deserve. there are also informative handbooks, written by specialists within the hisui topic!

Lecture Hall

once a week, one of our esteemed professors - sometimes even the owner, as he’s a professor himself - will host a lecture. they last 30 minutes, and are quite informative. they are free to attend and will always be on a saturday lunch!

Midsommar Jungle Café

a good place to rest and restore yourself! with a wide variety of food and drink options, you’re sure to find something you enjoy. and if you just want to sit down and rest, that’s fine too - there is a designated area for that!

Gift Shop

want a fun little souvenir, some special memory-holders or just a silly birthday or christmas present? well your in luck, as our gift shop has a large collection of merchandise and tid bits! all profits go directly to the sanctuary, which supports our hard working staff and our pokémon cared for.

This blog is primarily run by the sanctuary’s owner, Prof. Hop Laventon, but may be used by our other top Professors — Prof. Sonia Flora & Prof. Oxi Morre — to provide information as well. They will sign off with their names, to avoid any possible confusion. All information about The Professors and any other staff are on the sanctuary’s website.

Lately I've been super busy with school and work, because I originally started writing before I got a job. Now, I have a lot more I need to do, especially since it's the holidays ʕ⁠·⁠ᴥ⁠·⁠ʔ

I am writing on my days off though, actually I'm almost done with a couple fics! It's just taking me a lot longer since I'm always coming home tired ( ⌯₄⌯)

I'm very sorry if my blog isn't as active as before! I'm never going to fully stop writing or drawing, but it might take me a little longer sometimes. I know that can be irritating, and I'm sorry once more.

hello there, it's your lovely aria here~

i've written this post to thank everyone for the support i have received this year. i want to thank everyone for commenting, reblogging and liking my fics, i love seeing how much my works affect someone.

i am proud of myself, i am proud of the writer i am. i want to write more, i want to become even better and let people see the world i have in my mind.

Hello again! The first Saturday of a new month approaches once more, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, [VS] Verdant Shield! The poll has run its course, and our location winner by a narrow last-minute victory is Hoelbrak!

For those who have no idea what these art parties entail, they're an idea carried over from Final Fantasy XIV - in-game get-togethers for artists/writers/creatives of all kinds to hang out, chat, and create together! Get a nice outfit together, find someone that inspires you, and create! Then afterwards, everyone posts their creations under the same tag (ours is #VSArtParty) so others can see, interact, and share! There is no off-site discord server or anything for art parties (well, these ones at least), since the idea is to encourage community creativity and interaction! Simply put, there's one thing I always say in every one of these posts, which will forever hold true: the 'goal' of an art party isn't to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!

Now, those who have been to previous parties know the basics about times and /squadjoin stuff by now, but for those who don't know or would just like a refresher, details about location and other such things are under the cut!

Location:

Lake Mourn is absolutely massive and basically impossible to miss since it takes up the entire West side of the map. If you head to Hero's Compass Waypoint and hop off the edge down onto the ice, that's the spot! I expect people will spread out a lot with this much room, so you may have to wander a bit to find where people have decided to set up shop!

Time & Squad Details:

As always, the party will consist of two separate events, technically with an hour in between though people with multiple accounts often hop from one to the other immediately.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE: POTENTIAL MAP CLOSURES: Last time we were in Hoelbrak we had issues with very frequent map closures. To try and keep us together as much as possible, I'm actually going to suggest everyone join and stay in squad unless absolutely necessary so when we jump together we're more likely to end up in the same place. Ideally the map doesn't close every 15min but who's to say? We'll keep our fingers crossed. Should the squad cap out I'll enlist the help of another guildmate to get a second one going for further cat herding, so if you attempt to join my squad and it's full, please whisper me and I'll have the second squad's commander invite you to theirs instead!

I may have been spending the last few parties quietly watching without much input, but these really are one of the highlights of my time in game, and of my month in general!
